Management of 1919 Market has continuously allowed vehicles to park illegally in the parking garage making it incredibly difficult and risky for people who pay a lot of money to park there. Irresponsible and unprofessional. The people who manage the garage are nice and responsive but this problem is caused by employees in the leasing office and the apartment manager who allows contractors to illegally park their vans.
I just moved into the building and would like to comment on the excellent experience I had with our leasing agent Tiffani. She went above and beyond multiple times. Here is an example: I moved from out of state and didnt have time to check out the apartment in person so she made a video of the entire apartment with narration. She also met met with a local friend to give a tour. Finally, she was responsive to e-mail and easy to contact. I cant comment on living the building quite yet, but the apartment and amenities appear great so far.
Absolutely loved it. I stayed there for 5 months and things were done right for the price I was paying for. Management team very responsive, responsible and helpful! Maintenance was also very quick -- my issues were solved so fast -- there was one time that I left around noon, and by the time (3pm-ish) I got back my sink was already fixed.Location is perfect -- trolley and bus stops are right there, and you could always walk to the great restaurants and shopping areas within like 15 minutes.Free gym classes every week was also a huge plus.Would recommend this building for anyone that has enough budget!!
I never write reviews, but I have also never dealt with such unprofessional and blatantly disrespectful leasing office employees over several years of apartment living, and it feels necessary to share this experience to warn potential residents before going forward. My husband and I submitted an application online and spoke to Khadijah over the phone to confirm they received our information. Later that night, we noticed they increased the rent price by $35 several hours earlier while we were in the middle of our application without notifying us. We called back the next morning and ended up getting the price switched back while on the phone, so we decided to keep moving forward with the application. The next call we received was from Khadijah, who got on the phone immediately accusing us of not making enough income (we make over 5x the monthly rent), because she moved too quickly and overlooked the fact that we sent in weekly pay stubs instead of bi-weekly.The main issues, however, came from the apparent regional manager Terry. I called to follow up with the status the next morning, and Terry got on the phone aggressively accusing us of giving them unauthentic pay stubs because she could not reach the employer listed on our application after trying to call multiple times. I later found out that the office only tried to call my employer 1 time from a blocked number, and never reached out further.I got off the phone and immediately called my employer, informing her that she would be getting a call from an apartment complex right away to verify the information. I called Terry once again to let her know I had my employer waiting by the phone to receive a call, but she never made the call, wasting all of our time and making us look unprofessional. The blatant disrespect came into the equation when we were informed by a female concierge that Terry was out of the office putting up Christmas decorations the whole time (its November 13th), instead of making the quick call everyone was anticipating before she left. After calling over 20 times from each of our phones over several hours, we could not reach anyone in the leasing office for the entire day. My husband got through to a concierge named Edwin or Edward, who was very disrespectful, asking him “what do you want me to do about it?” and then proceeded to hang up.When we finally got a call back from Terry, about 10 minutes before they closed, she was completely unapologetic and tried to justify everything that happened with all of her employees for the past several days. It was only when we obtained her supervisor’s information and mentioned leaving a review about this experience at the end of the call that she attempted to provide some level of satisfactory service. Terry ended the call informing us that we would have to wait weeks to receive our refunded application fees in check form, with no definitive information. This review is not a result of any personal issues with anyone that we have dealt with in the leasing office, as we have cancelled our application and will be moving on with no reason to hold grudges against them. However, the reason we submitted an application in the first place had a lot to do with the positive reviews we read about this company, and would have appreciated seeing a recent review like this before making that decision.
One of the first residents to move in and we absolutely love it. We love the clean white look of the apartment and the engineered wood. The leasing process was seamless with the help of Brandon and Heather. They provided all of the information we needed before move in and plenty of pictures. The building isnt complete yet but the property manager, Nick and maintenance manager, Fereed went out of their way to be more than accommodating. Thanks!
An awesome top-quality new apartment building on Market Street.I am among the first few residents in this building and I absolutely love it. Great service from property mangers and the maintenance team. Brandon and Paul helped me all the way through the leasing process. Brandon even helped me lift some of my heavy furniture the day I moved in. The entire office is there to assist you if you have any questions. The apartment itself is fabulous with high-ending equipment and great amenities. Great service, great location and great amenities, nothing more one can ask for.
Love this building!!! I would highly recommend this apartment. Its nicely located to easily walk to Center City, the train station, and Rittenhouse Square. There is a CVS right downstairs, and a Trader Joes just a couple blocks away.Additionally, the building is quite new and has amazing amenities - the Gym is legitimate, not your usual little space. They even have classes in the Gym facility. They also have a coffee bar, a wine cellar, a social area, and an outside infinity pool and deck.Last, the front desk folks are so friendly and helpful. I moved out because my family moved down to join me in Philadelphia for my new job, but I cant recommend the property enough!
Youre steps away from everything you need - a Trader Joes supermarket, CVS pharmacy (opening downstairs), fresh La Colombe coffee, Amtrak Main Station and even the amazing Schuylkill River cycling/running/walking trail. Not to mention the brand new amenities coming soon - full gym, pool, rooftop lounge and even a golf simulator! The best part of living here though? Youre well looked after by a spectacular team of staff who truly care about your stay. As youre inspecting other apartments in the area, you wont greetings as warm as the one at our concierge desk - every... single... day. Plus, youll find your neighbours are mostly young professionals who are super friendly and live harmoniously in the middle of the city.Got a question? Ask me, a real-life resident! Lastly, if you mention me on your application, contact me for your $250 cash reward :)
I have been a resident at 1919 Market almost since th opening of its doors this past March. I have an incredibly sunny apartment (as most are) and am very happy to call this home. The staff, ranging from the Concierge to the rental management, is beyond friendly (special love for Brandon, Heather, Laura, Koran, Paul and Nick) and always willing to help and make sure that our needs are met ASAP.The maintenance crew keeps the property in top-notch shape, which is not easy as there is still construction taking place as the various floors and public spaces are continuing to be built out. A special thanks to Bobby for taking care of a few items that the initial construction team left unresolved. In closing, my husband and I recommend 1919 Market Street (20th and Market) without reservation. Our living space is so wonderful and once done, we know that the public spaces (i.e., gym, pool, etc.) will be crazy amazing.
Yesterday I was brutally assaulted by a stranger on the sidewalk in front of this apartment building. I ran into the building for help and to inquire if there might be video surveillance. No help was provided. The assistant manager (who’s name I do not remember) would not let me quietly sit in the lobby while I waited for police to arrive. She told me to stand outside (where the attacker could have been waiting) and said that if I did not immediately leave she would press trespassing charges. When the attack happened, I was walking to work so I was very professionally dressed and in no way could have been perceived as a threat to any of the apartment’s residents. Her morality and basic understanding of what to do in an emergency situation, where a person’s safety is at risk, should very much be in question.I would never choose to live in this building.
The building is amazing and the people are all super friendly and ready to jump in and help with anything. Brandon helped make the move as smooth as possible. Paul is always doting on Belle like the princess she is and Nick is quick to respond. Overall an amazing experience and am looking forward to the roof top pool to be completed for summer fun and Belle is patiently awaiting the puppy amenities so she can be pampered even more.

2022-04-24I love my experience in the 1919 Market! Its the best place I know in Philadelphia and even one of the best places for living in the world. The quality of the attention, the speed of the requirements, the utilities we have a gym, pool, monthly meeting to know new people. Its a silicon valley in a building! The incredible view you enjoy in the pool, your kitchen, or the gym! You never lose a sunset or sunrise!

2022-05-27We are now nearing the end of a 14 month lease and the renewal contract offered to us for a 12 month renewal represented an increase of 66%. We discussed this with management and they made no effort to offer us a reasonable renewal price. We know multiple people who have experienced similar situations. They are also adding a monthly amenity fee on top of what we were initially promised would be a one time amenity fee payment for as long as we lived in the building. On top of this, the rooftop is essentially unusable for most of the residents during the summer weekends. There are regularly large, loud parties that overrun the roof with guests, almost none of whom live in the building. For a luxury building, there are also many other smaller problems that have been bothersome throughout our time here.

2022-04-21Loved living here at 1919 Market St- The building amenities are top notch, including the gym, the rooftop lounge areas, and the pool. Apartments have good layouts and huge windows. The location is superb, walkable to Rittenhouse Park, great restaurants, the river, etc. The management team (Terri, Khadijah, Rich, and all) and front desk (Ranita and all) and maintenance and Dexter, are great people and always willing to work to resolve issues. Highly recommend!

2021-03-15My overall experience living at 1919 Market has been great. My apartment is fantastic and the entire team from the leasing office to the Concierge and maintenance teams have been great. I look forward to my daily hello’s with Darius, Karen, Edward and Dexter to name a few!I’m hopeful to be extending my lease for another year plus if we can make it work with all the other complexes offering incentives...

2020-09-09This is definitely the best building Ive lived in. The apartments have great views and modern appliances. For the most part, the sound-proofing is perfect. I can only hear other people when Im in front of my door and someone is in the hallway. The common areas are very elegant too.The building is in the middle of the citys financial district. There are lots of near-by restaurants, shops, and grocery stores (Trader Joes is 2 blocks west, Target is 2ish blocks south). My only grievance with location (which is the citys fault) is there is no MFL subway between 15th and 30th street. The best part about this building is the friendly staff. They were very patient and accommodating when I was looking for an apartment while remote and did a FaceTime walk-through of the apartment, making sure to answer all the questions I had. The maintenance team is super kind and fast acting. Also, there is a 24/7 concierge at the front desk with a friendly face.

2021-05-29My wife and I love this building! The location is pretty close to perfect for Center City/Rittenhouse access, the amenities are great, and the staff is exceptional! Today I want to give a special shout out to Dexter on the Facility Team. He resonates positive energy, and always goes the extra mile to keep this place looking and feeling new!

2021-04-12I rented my unit from Kaida and have lived here since November. It’s honestly been one of my best rental experiences. I have rented and lived in NY, LA, London, Hong Kong, Boston, and DC previously. Before my showing with 1919, I thought about renting at one of their competitors but didn’t receive a warm welcome. Instead, 1919 reached out to me five times working around my schedule and asking my interest. They worked with me with my timing, preferred layouts, and apartment size & orientation. During my showing, Kaida showed me exactly what I was looking for and gave me very detailed information. I applied right after the showing and never regretted about my decision. The amenities here are absolutely top of the line. Rooftop is very lively with great views. Staff is super nice all day along. The building and unit appliances are very new. I specifically wanted a unit above 13th floor facing Market Street because I have a lot of sun light. My unit is on the 20th. I am very happy with the light exposure and layout. I wouldn’t be able to get this unit without the persistent effort from 1919’s staff, especially Kaida, who did not only continue helping with my tedious requests after renting me the unit but also has become the daily welcoming crew that makes the residents feel at home. This integration of the leasing office and the front desk staff makes the entire experience very friendly and personable - a small community feeling in a large institutionalized building.

2021-03-24I had a great two years living at 1919 Market. The building and amenities are fantastic. Conveniently located on the top of the trolley and Rittenhouse. The building staff and leasing team are the best!

2019-12-03Met life long friends and had great experiences while living at 1919. My two favorite things about the building:1. Concierge staff is world class and treat you like family.2. Fresh air injection system constantly recirculates fresh air through out the apartment. One of the benefits of being a true new construction rather than a rehabbed building.
