Terrible customer service! Called to schedule service because our freezer stopped working. They told us landlords need to call to report service. We told our landlord and he called and said the SAME THING we told the company. They told us they would be out next Tuesday to look at things. We are now forced to wait a week for service to come in (and potentially still not fix the freezer) while our food spoils in our freezer
The worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Years ago they used to be very good and very responsive but no longer. I am a senior and we called 4 times leaving messages begging for someone to call us back so we could purchase an appliance. Also had a repair technician come out paid $90 he said he repaired the dryer and it never worked again. We went down the street to Dominics where everyone answers the phone they were friendly and helpful and up front about pricing and have a new dryer that works perfectly its all about the customer service.
Kind of a hot mess of an establishment. Had them come to my apartment to fix a burner on our stove and replace a part on my broken dryer. They had to order the part, for which we gave immediate approval, but we heard nothing from them for a few weeks so when we called, they said they were awaiting our approval for the part.Several other similar communication fails took place and after much frustration and difficulty in getting them access to our condo (they repeatedly failed to send over the necessary paperwork), they finally came and got everything fixed.They did ultimately get the job done, which is why this isn’t a one-star review.
Technician came in here looked at my washer for 10 mins and said he had to go to the office and look up the parts. Cost me 91 dollars for a 10 min visit. Doubt if i will get a call back. didnt expain to me what was wrong either. He seemed very rude like I wasted his time going to Lowes and find a deal!
What a breath of fresh air dealing with AJ. Was recommended to them from a friend after I experienced a nightmare with HomeDepot and Lowe’s. Ordered a fridge. They came and measured the space. Who does THAT anymore?! The delivery and installation guys were great. They obviously knew what they were doing and as a plus were great conversationalists. Payment wasn’t asked for until after the installation was complete. Won’t be using the big box stores anymore!
After calling AJ Appliance and informing them of my issue with my dryer they scheduled a tech to come out. I had called back again to provide them with the Error code that kept stopping my dryer from working and had asked if it meant anything specific. They told me that it did not and that someone would definitely have to look in person. When the tech showed up he seemed bothered, not to mention my unit is in a small closet on the second floor and he weighed about 250lbs. He turned the dryer on only to find that it was still producing heat, as I stated on the phone, and he said that the E code meant my vents were clogged and that I would have to call a vent cleaning company. The tech was in my home for about 5 minutes TOTAL! Still he charged me over $90 for the service call. I did not argue at the time until I had someone come to clean my vent the following week and they were NOT clogged!! Luckily the private handy man was able to correct the issue in about 25minutes and only charged me $50!! When I called A.J. Appliance back to discuss a PARTIAL refund I was basically laughed at and was told they would call me back after speaking to the owners about a refund. Needless to say they did not attempt to rectify my issue. I would NEVER recommend this company just on the principle of morals and poor business practice. I would not know how their completed work turns out since there was nothing done for me except handing them over $90 for absolutely nothing.
I bought the washer and the dryer on February from AJ Appliance, and the washer doesn’t work on the end of July (stopped at the middle of cycle) someone came to check on August 2nd and said need to order something to change; and he came back on August 8th at noon to fixing the washer; after a few minutes, he told me that the company ordered him a wrong thing!! I called the customer service so many times and no one picked up the phone. Is this make sense??? Please pay attention when you order from them if the quality like this better order from different companies. Especially the phone customer service, I will give a thumb-down! You will have to wait for a unknown days appointment for someone to come to fix and you are unable to contact them(never pick up the phone)
I had a consultation scheduled for a few weeks ago and was told that someone would call me 30 minutes ahead of time. No one called or showed up. I had a second consultation scheduled for today at 8:30am. Once again, no one calls or shows up. This is super disappointing since I actually used to work with the owner, Trish. I was hoping to support a local business but at this point, Ill just give my money to Lowes or Home Depot. Would not recommend a company with such awful customer service.
Called for next day repair of stacking washer. Repairman charged the visit fee and said would call back with replacement part options. No call for 2 days and after calling customer service I finally get someone who tells me simply that they dont have the appliance model number. I ask if I can just read it off the machine since it wasnt even made note of during my visit? Apparently now they tell me the washer needs to be replaced. I ask about techs mention of a replacement part they say he thinks the entire appliance needs to be replaced....which is not what was communicated during the visit. Waste of my time and money for a repair service which doesnt even repair machines...
Friendly service but HORRIBLE workmanship. Use AJ appliances twice for my washer and heat pump.The reverse valve on my heat pump broke during winter. AJ replaced the part for me but damaged the celluloid in the valve when they had un-solder the copper pipes. 6 months later, I find out the valve is stuck on heat.Meanwhile, my washer drainage was clogged so I also had AJ work on it. In the process of unclogging the washer, they disconnected my dryers exhaust in the back of the washer/dryer closet. They never reconnected it. I didnt notice it until paint around the molding of closet started to chip exactly 31 days later. Since it was passed their 30 day service guarantee, they wanted another $75 to reconnect the exhaust.Youre better off just using youtube and fixing things yourself. Otherwise you run the risk of AJ breaking more things and charging you extra.
I cant say enough good things about the AJ Appliance team. They recently killed it on repairing our 3 year old refrigerator with a failing fan. They came out the day after I called, ordered the part and had it in with no drama. LOVE them. Never met a more reliable team.
I am thoroughly pleased with the service that the employees and technicians at AJ Appliance had given to my familys problem with a washer that was under warranty. Our washer was leaking water.Originally went with a company that Whirlpool directed me to when asking for service called Quaker City Service. They had terrible service, couldnt find what was wrong with the washer and charged us! (Reminder, we were under warranty.)Then found AJ Appliance. They were professional, friendly, helpful, and prompt. They fixed the washer with no hesitations.
My Mother bought a Refrigerator from this Company for $800 I believe and it keeps breaking down and she cant put any food in it. Someone was supposed to come out and fix it never showed up . So warning do not buy your house hold Appliances from them because they are used and they wont fix them.
These guys are our go-to whenever an appliance does not work. They are extremely helpful and take accountability for their service from start to finish. When you buy an appliance from Home Depot the Home Depot does not deliver it, some other company does so there is no accountability there. AJ cares if the washer they sell you is going to fit down your south philly row home basement door because THEY are the ones who will have to bring it down. They have saved me HUNDREDS of dollars and are every tech I have met from this place has been extremely knowledgable and has often times fixed my appliance when I was ready to just toss it and get a new one. I am a really picky consumer and these guys have absolutely never given me a reason to complain.
My husband and I recently purchased a dryer and a garbgage disposal from AJs and are very satisfied. Derek was really helpful in recommending a dryer that would fit through our very narrow basement entrance. The appliances were delivered on time and installed efficiently. When we noticed a small drip under the disposal, AJs sent the installer back to identify and correct the problem promptly. We would recommend AJs without reservation.
Terrible experience! The appointment process is a pain. They can only give you a date, and then youll have to wait for their call on the day, hoping they would not cancel and would show up within the time constraint you told them. Took 3 appointments and 4 weeks to eventually have someone out. But I didnt know the worst was yet to come. My technician did not know how to operate my oven (told them it was a Gaggenau oven at the time of appointment and the tech told me he was qualified to service it), then spent hours staring at it, then asked to see my owners manual, finally claimed the control board was bad! Well if that wasnt a wild guess! I cut the loss, paid the useless guy and sent him on his way. Do yourself a favor and save all these time and aggravation!
AJ Appliance incorrectly scheduled my repair appt for the wrong day. They left a voicemail to confirm the incorrect day to which I called back and left a detailed message saying that day would not work, that I had not scheduled that day to begin with and that no one would be home to let the tech in (it was my birthday, I knew I would not be home!). While out for my birthday lunch I received an annoyed sounding message from Joe saying he was on my front steps waiting for someone to let him in for my confirmed appt. Apparently Joe does not check his messages. When I called back to try to resolve the confusion the girl insisted (rudely) that the incorrect appt had been confirmed, yet no one in my residence had spoken to anyone, so its unclear to me how this could be true. Apparently by their standards, leaving a voicemail is considered confirmation. Not only was there no apology for their scheduling error, but the next appt they offered wasnt for another five days! I am hosting a party in two days for which I need to use my oven and explained this to the girl hoping something could be worked out. No surprise ending here, I was told Nope, thats all we got. Thanks AJ Appliance, I hope you have better customer service in the New Year!
I have had an issue for some time with my whirlpool front load stackable washing machine. It is a rather expensive unit as I needed particular dimensions to fit into a small space. It stopped working last week. I researched buying a new washing machine. After a google search I learned that if it expected to be less than 40 - 50% of the cost of buying a new machine to consider a repair. I had AJS APPLIANCE technician ROBERT here this morning. He repaired the machine within 45 minutes with a bill that was reasonable and made the entire event less painful. He was knowledgeable and very very professional. thank you AJS, AND ROBERT
Carmen came out to repair my GE Refrigerator due to frost help-up on the freezer shute. He explained what was needed to resolve the issue and also gave us some excellent advice on future issues. He also advised us on what refrigerators to purchase by design and operation. Carman was professional, efficient and resourceful. The repair price was within range. Thank you Carmen!
They are the worst. I ordered a wall oven over 7 weeks ago, when I was told at that time it would be in 2-3 weeks. After four weeks past I received a call and was told it would be another two weeks. Well that passed to. To be told it was on back order and it would be in at the end of June. Whelp they came to install it today., ONLY FOR IT NOT TO FIT INTO THE WALL,IT NEEDS TO BE BUILT UP. Mind you I have no oven Bc they removed my old oven,and they cant come back until Friday.
They used to be good but now they are in disarray. They don’t stand behind their work. Unavailable to service what they installed. Rarely answer the phone. When they do they say “I’ll call you back with an answer” and then they don’t. Too bad. Used to be a good business. Don’t waste your time or money.

2022-03-04Deeply terrible customer service. Our dryers thermostat broke a month ago. AJ was supposed to show up within a week, but they cancelled and rescheduled the appointment without an explanation. A week later (2 weeks with a broken dryer), their technician showed up for 5 minutes, took our $91.80 check, and told us it would take a few days to order the part we needed. 9 days later (3.5 weeks with a broken dryer), I called to check on the part, and I was told that it hadnt arrived yet—a part that SHOULD have been ordered 9 days ago and which has next-day delivery on Amazon. They now say they wont be by until next week with the part. If you have a broken appliance, do yourself a favor and call literally anyone else.

2022-07-15Went to pick up a part and got an education. Joe at the parts counter after hearing my symptoms, told me the part I wanted would not fix the issue. Sold me the required part, and offered step by step instructions to confirm the issue and complete the repair. Service was second to none, and Joe will be my first call the next time I need a part.

2020-10-11Awful. When they installed the dishwasher I bought from them, they didnt secure it to the surrounding cabinetry. I called twice and they said they would take care of it, but have never heard from them since. Picture shows what happens when I pull out the top rack.

2021-07-14Called them because my broiler stopped working. They couldnt have sent a nicer more informative repair guy. He had the broiler back up and running in no time. He was super friendly and answered every question I had. This is the second time they have fixed an appliance for me and I wouldnt hesitate to call them again.

2020-09-02Do not use this company. I was to have a dishwasher replaced by AJ Appliance. They miss-measured the opening originally, resulting in the replacement dishwasher not fitting. When they did find another that would fit into the opening, they were extremely hard to get a hold of. They did not call about time windows for the installation, I had to. And they did not show up for the install 2 separate times. After both of these times they were unable to be reached by telephone. This whole process lasted about 3 months resulting in us going to a different company for a dishwasher. Would not recommend wasting your time with a company like AJ Appliance who doesnt respect your time.

2021-05-30Phenomenal customer service. Ill be a customer for life.I ordered a washing machine from Amazon, only to discover that my front basement window wouldnt come out. There was no way it was going to fit down the stairs. I walked into AJs and explained the problem, and Megan knew exactly what my options were. They have machines that can be broken down on the sidewalk, carried down in pieces, and reassembled in the basement. Ultimately, I decided to go with a floor model of a smaller machine at a great price. Megan stayed late to install a new drain hose on the machine, and even helped us lift it into the truck the next day. Customer service like that is hard to find these days.

2020-08-23These greedy people charged $140.00 to diagnose a problem with my daughters washer. They were not even going to apply this highly priced estimate towards the repair. Then they never showed up for the appointment and didnt even answer the phone or any emails. Avoid these people and call someone else. I would give them a zero if I could.

2019-10-12Had them out to service my washer and a couple years later my dryer. Both experiences were great - called me back promptly, had appt scheduled within days (2hr window). Tech showed up on time and was able to fix both for what I feel was a reasonable price. No problems with either appliance since!
