ALDI in other cities:
I have been to many Aldis. I use them weekly in NC. This store is set up very nicely and the selection is very good. On the other hand...I know they are trained to check out the items quickly but all of my items were just literally thrown into my cart with no concern to damage to these items. I was very disappointed with this visit.
It is a nice store and they do have high quality foods. They also have more than food. I like to browse the couple isles of odds and ends that they have from exercise gadgets to appliances. I do not shop there as much as most do because I do have my preferred brands that they do not carry. But I do like their cheese and meats for cheese trays. And seriously, I do love their crackers better than any other cheap brand. I usually grab a couple boxes when I do visit the store. It is clean and the staff is friendly.
Good prices for good products. Theres a good variety, a little odds and ends here and there. Just have to remember to bring your own bags if you need them.it was pretty calm and laid back when I went, it was late and cold but it was still pretty quick and easy getting what we needed, checked out and then out the door we went. Its a great space and Its kept decently clean.
I was so excited to hear we were getting an Aldi in my area! They have a wide variety of everyday needs at great prices. Some off brands, but they are just as good as name brands. They have everything from kitty litter to the best, ready to serve desserts. Inventory changes so you never know what you can find at a great price. Eggs are under $1.
Fantastic place to shop! Love the quality, the prices, the ethnic diversity in some the grocery items. I love how efficient Aldi is and their lack of waste. The quality is by far the best of any grocery store! I wish they carried every item I needed! I cant say enough food things about this store!
Aldi is always cheap with good product and produce. Store is clean and its a what u see is what you get. Be prepared to bring g ur own bags or hunt for boxes yo pack ur own food while ur there. I never much minded boxing or bagging my own food u almost prefer it. You just cant beat the prices lives can feed my four children for a week with 50 dollars and come out with so much more than ANY other store. -make sure u bring a quarter for ur cart!
Great products for a much cheaper price! Clean store. Can sometimes be difficult to locate exactly what youre looking for, but its worth the savings. Make sure you have a quarter to get a cart! And dont forget your own reusable shopping bags! Very very minor inconveniences for the savings and products, and better for the environment.
This is a unique store with foods from Europe. There are specialty chocolates and baked goods, besides the normal things we use everyday, the basics. There are meats, frozen products, many refrigerated choices, breads, and produce at reasonable prices. Check it out for yourself.
I have shopped at Aldi since the day they opened And love everything about it with one glaring exception. I hate where they moved the produce right inside the door. It creates a bottleneck every time I’m there. Instead of being able to browse and choose some things I find myself grabbing what I know I need and getting out of that area just because of the congestion. The next time there’s a remodel, I would suggest either returning the produce to the back corner of the store near the coolers or at least moving it to the far end of the aisle. I have found myself recently just turning right and doing the rest of my shopping first and then returning and weaving in and out of the other shoppers to look for what I need !
If you are unfamiliar with ALDI then I highly recommend becoming familiar with it. ALDI is a grocery store that is extremely well priced and has many options. Almost everything is in-house brands with the exception of a notable brand here or there. That being said, the generic brands are great, including organic options for those that prefer it.They also have a couple aisles that are seasonal and always changing out random items. You can find home improvement tools and equipment, home decor, outdoor games and gear, etc...Oh be sure to remember a quarter to get your cart. You will get this quarter back when you return the cart, so dont worry about temporarily spending a quarter, it is just a clever way to keep shopping carts out of parking spots and out of your way. Those clever ideas are what make the place so affordable!
Always an adventure shopping at Aldi. The majority of their prices (especially for produce) are really great, but not everything is, so you have to be careful. Theyll also surprise you with their selection sometimes. We can find stuff here that is never in our regular grocery stores, like brioche bread and buns, naan, really good but really cheap brie and smoked salmon, and such. We even got a pack of amazing ibierco ham here over the holidays. New layout is wonderful! Make sure you bring a quarter if you need a cart, bring your own bags or boxes, and dont worry about payment because they take credit cards!
Love Aldi! Low prices, high quality, great guarantee (refund + replacement). The Altoona store was just recently remodeled and looks great! Only thing I dont like about it is produce is now located right inside the entrance...this causes lots of congestion and messes up shopping flow. Hope they can correct it soon 🙂
The layout of the store and fervent deal-seeking of the surrounding customers made me feel dirty for even entering to see what they had to offer. Dont go here if you need something specific; only if you want to end up buying things you normally wouldnt, but think its a good price.
Seems likethe sfore was recently updated. Clean, great selection, cheap prices. Its about an hour drive for us, so we only shop at Aldi once a month, but its worth the gas and time to stick up on essentials and canned food. The produce can be hit or miss, but is generally pretty good.
We save a pile of money every month and eat healthy buy making our first stop ALDIs every week. The produce selection is excellent and there are many grain products that are competitively priced under the local Walmart in the area.Anyone looking to be frugal needs to make ALDIs a part of their life.
You can find some amazing deals here. Some cities have a larger store with more reliable availability but that speaks for how quickly things fly off the shelves at this location. Its always somewhere I stop at to stock up on great deals before visiting the big box shops to finish my shopping. Heres to hoping altoona gets an aldi upgrade in the future!!!
Its ok if you dont mind a million people. The off brands they sell are ok, not nearly as good as the name brands but they are cheap so you get what you pay for most of the time. The spices though, they are the ticket...cheap and you cant tell the difference from the name brands.
Almost always a pleasant experience. Only on occasion is the Vegetables horrible. Its rare, but youll know the second you walk in. There is tiny gnats flying around. However, you know its not the store. Simply because I have already seen the same thing at the new Aldies in Ebensburg pa once. So, I am guessing it has something to do with shipping or storing prior to shipment.
RIP OFF!Hated this bird cage!Hated it! Hated it! Hated it!First of all I think the other reviews are phony reviews that were written by profession reviewers for payment and who lied about this companies stores or those who have no idea how to shop.Especially if you have pay for gas or take a bus as it is generally isolated from all other stores and generally a fire trap its anti-theft crime corrals as to get to the exits you have to walk all the way to the back of the store and then to the front in order to properly get to the exit. This company is supposed to be modern to the extent that it has a corporate 800 toll line but no store telephones you can call for any issue with the store, nor are there any corporate telephone lines they make public for their conceptual sake of efficiency that I call modern stupidity shortsightedness. This company carries few name brands over charges for off brands, charges expensive prices for the produce they sell grow by the slaves in Mexico. I am contemptuous as I can find nothing really nice to say about this company where their penny pinching mannerism begins where you are required to deposit a quarter 25 cents to use their shopping carts and bring your own bags in a corporate culture that sucks the life out of everything it touches and which reminds me of US corporate society. Lastly any specials are planned so that they guarantee they are available only the first day of sale (chick thighs) which are unavailable soon there after which means you will waste your time going there if that is the item you want.

2022-06-14Love this store. Its clean, cheaper and they offer so many choices even many gluten free items. You must bring your own bags and bag your own groceries which is great because I can organize my groceries for easy put away at home. Bring a quarter if you need a cart, you will get it returned when you put your cart away. The employees are nice. Check out was super fast.

2022-03-30Aldi has the best selection of gluten free products I have seen. The gluten free bread is so good and soft. Its twice the size(at the same or cheaper price) of the brand they sell at other chain grocers in the area. Also the gluten free snacks are delicious and also prices low.

2022-06-30LOVE Altoona Aldi! Best prices in area for produce and lots of other food. Great specialty and seasonal items. Love the aisle of shame (junk aisle). Only complaint is I wish it was bigger, it can get packed really easily, and people lack patience and manners.

2022-01-19I love Aldis! Most of their own brand items are just as good or even better than top name brand items. At much better prices! Aldis keep things simpler than the bigger markets. Easier shopping. Lower prices.

2022-02-15I dont understand what all the hype is about with this grocery store. The prices were very good but the products were very cheap. The employees were not friendly but the store was very clean and organized.
