I got a great deal, along with sales, and service at Altoona Honda. This is my 3rd Honda and the 2nd one I’ve bought from Altoona. You can’t go wrong by buying from there. Rick is the full package as far as experience goes. He is so well spoken, positive, and informative. I just recently moved to PA from out of state and needed an SUV to assist me with safer driving. I have either purchased or leased three vehicles from Altoona Honda over the past nearly five years. All of these transactions with the employees, from Sales to Service to Finance, were all outstanding and always kept me coming back as a loyal customer (Adam S., Eric, Aaron, and Darren). My most recent visit to the dealership, however, may have permanently changed my loyalty to Altoona Honda.When I arrived to the dealership to try and work out a new lease deal, I obviously had done my homework, as always. I researched the Kelley Blue Book Trade-In Values as well as MSRPs for Honda vehicles. After the necessary test drive, we sat down for the negotiation and when the figures were presented to me, I was honestly taken back and borderline disgusted; the selling price was several thousand dollars above MSRP on a Civic and were not referring to the ultra-rare Type-R. Were referring to a run-of-the-mill Sport trim level. Adding insult to injury, I was offered several thousand dollars less for my trade-in than Kelley Blue Book would suggest. Keep in mind these figures were acquired the morning of the visit to the dealership. At this point, I couldnt understand what changed since the last several interactions Ive had at this dealership. I was genuinely disappointed and dissatisfied with the two employees who were involved in this visit, one of which was a newer Sales Consultant (Nicholas) but the other was a Sales Manager (Brayton) and the latter is what upset me the most. This is not only how to not conduct business with a customer, but especially when its one whose loyalty has belonged solely to the dealership for nearly five years.Needless to say, I did not make a deal during this visit and Im saddened to say that if my loyalty to Altoona Honda will be reciprocated like that which I experienced during my most recent visit, my business will be going elsewhere.

We started the purchase of our new Pilot with Jared Mcmullen and finished up with his dad Rick last week when the car came in. They were both great. Purchasing a new car can be a bit stressful, but not with Rick. He made the purchase enjoyable and completly stressless. I highly recomend you see either Rick or Jared if you are looking to puchase a Honda. This is the fourth car I have purchased from Altoona Honda. I have never delt with a better dealership for sales or service.
Jared and the team at Altoona Honda did a good job making my purchase very quick and easy! I went in knowing what I wanted but Jared helped provide a lot of information and guidance on the car through the process.
We were specific in what we were looking for, and called to see if they had any Honda Odyssey EX-L’s available, or if any would be coming in. My husband was told over the phone that they would be getting two EX-L’s (he repeated this back to Eric to verify) and one Touring, sometime between March and April. It was recommended that we stop in as soon as possible to get our trade-in valued. I was on my way home from a long day at work, after picking up my daughter from daycare, in State College, and also arranged to have our infant cared for so we could stop in. The salesperson immediately tried to sell us on a Honda Pilot, and initially avoided talking about the Odyssey. After roughly 45 minutes, we insisted we were mainly interested in the van. He claimed not to have access to Odyssey prices on his computer, and had to ask the sales manager. In the meantime, we pulled it up, from Honda’s site, on our phone. We were informed of a $2000 market price adjustment that would be added to the cost of their vehicles. They offered us half the fair market value of our trade-in; $7000, and we had been quoted $10-12k from another Honda dealer. We were given excuses for this number. We had to keep redirecting to the fact that we were told that they had two EX-L’s coming in, and that’s what we were interested in, and our reason for being there. After our salesman spoke again to his sales manager, he said they only had 3 Tourings coming in. We asked for our keys back. Eric came out to my car as I was getting ready to leave, to explain the “miscommunication”. When my husband again explained that he told us (around 3pm) that they had two EX-Ls coming in, he quickly corrected him and said 2 Tourings. Like we were the ones who had misunderstood. Our appointment was for 4:40pm, and it was 6pm when were leaving. We went there just to be talked at. Incredible waste of time, and horrible business ethic. I don’t want one more excuse or apology for a misunderstanding. If you would have been straightforward and conscientious of our time, we would have been understanding and consider future business.

Altoona Honda had the HR-V that we were looking for and had a great price compared to what was available around Pittsburgh. So we made the two hour drive and found the buying experience exceeded expectations. Rick and Dawn were great especially for the end of day on a Saturday and by the end it seemed like we were longtime friends. They stayed late to be sure the sale was finalized and that we could drive the two hours home with the new HR-V. All in all a terrific buying experience. Keep it up Altoona Honda!
Was my entire experience all that I had hoped? No. BUT, the parts of the experience that I was disappointed in was not their fault. I never expected to be upside down on my trade in, nor do I believe it was easy for Adam Sloan, my salesperson, or Darren Warner, the Business Manager handling my financing to convey that to me. I couldnt have asked to be treated with greater respect or appreciation as both went far beyond the call of duty making it possible for me to purchase a desperately needed vehicle. Now, Im neither naive nor inexperienced when it comes to purchasing a car but I did start to doubt my decision a bit. I opted to do a little more web searching after the fact to qualify just how gullible I might have been and to my delight, there wasnt a dealer that could hold a candle to Altoona Hondas offering prices or value based on the quality of vehicles elsewhere. Its been a long time since I felt I had a relationship with a dealership that compelled me to trust them and return to them repeatedly over the years and Ive purchased my last 3 vehicles without that relationship afterwards, but I can CONFIDENTLY state, I wouldnt even consider ANY other dealership in my future as long as Altoona Honda sticks to their values and moral obligations to their customers, the way they did with me. Im actually proud to consider myself a representative of a firm so properly focused in a world with terribly blurry vision when it comes to Customer first and ALWAYS! Thank you Adam and Darren!OK, its a week later after my purchase and I stopped back to have a couple things checked on my newly purchased used vehicle. First off, upon contacting Adam and Darren last week about the minor issues, I didnt have an opportunity to schedule a visit to have these items checked! Before the call was over, they had it taken care of for me! Anyway, I stopped in this morning to have the items checked and I was impressed once more! You dont drop off your vehicle outside in the weather, but instead, in a heated, immaculate, receiving area! This is beyond WOW! (at least to me!) Trust me, people with Lamborginis or Porches are treated no more special than Altoona Honda customers regardless of what you drive! The folks that greet you at the service desk let you know without a doubt that you are the most important customer theyve greeted all week. Then after they checked the car, Jeremy came into the reception area, sat down and talked to me like I was his best friend and mattered, no calling me back to his space to have a cold conversation about whats wrong and what they might be willing to do if Im willing to pull teeth or settle for adequate service.Plain and simple, this family (not dealership) is OVER THE TOP in my eyes and Im proud and excited to be dealing with them as long as we both exist on this revolving ball of mud. :) To EVERYONE at Altoona Honda, a most sincere thank you for making owning one of your vehicles so problem free and enjoyable, almost exciting!

When Altoona Honda says that you re part of the family They truly mean it!! Smoothest car transaction ever. No one was pushing us into a vehicle that would not suit our needs. No everyday annoying calls to come back and look again while we were looking elsewhere. We ordered floor mats a week after having our CR-V . Ordered then on a Friday they were in Saturday morning. They offered to put them in and sweep out our car first so that the car was clean. Honestly can say we have never been treated better and will be a life long family member. As a previous Sales Consultant at Altoona Honda I was already a smidgen bias, with that being said, as always Dave(GM), Darren(Sales Man.), Josh(Sales consultant), and Aaron(Finance) just to name a few go out of their way to make myself, fiance and 2 kiddos comfortable during the process. The dealership is super clean, everyone is happy, and Rachel tops the cake with getting our little ones gummy bears 🤣🤣 from the vending machine, which she by no means had to do!! Short Review:I wanted to trade my car in, and they gave me a low-ball offer for my vehicle in hopes I didn’t know the true value of my car. From start to finish, my car went from $18,800 to $21,500 (Nearly a $3000 difference.)Longer Review:I visited Altoona Honda about a week ago regarding a vehicle they had in their showroom. I wanted to see where I would be number wise, and go home to crunch some numbers. The first number they offered for my vehicle trade-in was $18,800, which was very low for my car. I feel as though they were hoping I wasn’t informed on my vehicle’s value. After the second and third offer, we finally ended on $21,500 for my vehicle. I ran that offer by my friend who works at a dealer, and he said that $21-22 is a good offer. So somehow my car increased in value by nearly $3000 in 20 minutes. It seems like they’re just hoping you don’t know your vehicles value. I would’ve thought they’d lead with a good, true value at the very beginning.The salesman I was working with was very friendly and efficient, and I understand he doesn’t have much say in what I get for my vehicle. The only reason I’m giving a 2 star over a 1 star is due to my salesman and the other salespeople. They were very friendly and willing to answer my questions. I believe Altoona Honda tried taking advantage of me when I tried buying one of their cars. I would not suggest going here unless you understand the market and are willing to walk out if you don’t like their offer.I also wanted to quickly note an issue I had whenever I asked to test drive the vehicle. I won’t go into too much detail because it won’t apply to most vehicles on their lot (I hope not at least). I asked to test drive a USED vehicle they had in their showroom. They refused to let me test drive the vehicle until after I purchased it. Eventually, one of the managers or someone higher up gave the okay to allow me to test drive it. The only catch is I had to do all the paperwork for the vehicle until I’m allowed to drive it.All in all, I didn’t have a great experience at Altoona Honda. I don’t foresee myself going back anytime soon for a vehicle or service. I believe trust is an important thing to have with a dealership, and I just simply don’t have that anymore. All I ask is for people to do their own research before trying to work with Altoona Honda.

Our new car buying experience at Altoona Honda was a breeze! We stopped in to the store expecting to have to go through the typical pain-in-the-neck experience you might expect at a car dealer. Instead it was an easy and no pressure all the way through it. Our salesman Hamid Bakhsheshe was super friendly and easy to work with. My wife and I wanted a secondary vehicle that we could use for doctors appointments and longer trips. We had a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe that was getting high on miles and we were extremely shocked and grateful that Altoona Honda was able to get us a brand new Honda Accord for around the same payment as our ‘13 Santa Fe. Altoona Honda didn’t disappoint! We’ve had our eye on the Honda Pilot since the redesign and we were finally able to get one! We were greeted at the door by Ken and he took care of us during the whole experience! A bit unconventional as we wanted to check out the costs and numbers before test driving but Ken was able to help meet our needs. We gave him a number we wanted to stay around and he was able to get us right at that amount! We went to pick up the car on Memorial Day and had some delicious cook out food while we signed all of our paperwork with Max, who also helped us to stay around our desired payment and get an amazing warranty to compliment the warranty from Honda. All around this was the best buying experience I have had. We were treated very kindly and was able to occupy a 15 month old during the process! Added bonus was the follow up customer service! Ken called just to check in and make sure everything was okay and to answer any questions! If you are looking for a Honda I recommend Altoona Honda! I’ve bought two cars from another local dealership and decided to look elsewhere and we are so glad we did!! Customer service was top notch!!!

The salesman I had was very nice, not at all pushy like a lot of salesmen are, the finance department was very nice and through. I was concerned because my husband passed away and I had never had do this on my own, but they were very helpful and understanding .The only complaint I had was it took so long to get everything finalized and I knew what I wanted and the color and what I could pay per month, it was 5 hour process, but in the end I got exactly what I wanted and was very happy to drive out in a new white CRV. I forgot to mention my salesperson was Hamid who was very through and a very kind and lovely man.
Took my car in more some scheduled maintenance. I got it back and it was dirty inside from the tech (Brian Morganstern). He didnt check any of the fluid levels (washer fluid was as empty as when I dropped it off, coolant level was still low). Tire pressure light was still on when I got it back (LR Tire was low at drop off, still low when I got it back).How do they expect me to pay exorbitant amounts of money for their Total Care they promised when I purchased the vehicle from them. No one there was friendly at any point and time, from drop off, while waiting in their waiting room, and especially when checkout. Felt like I was bothering them being there. Management needs to do a top down review of processes. Until then, I am sure Bobby Rahal Honda in State College will take care of my Honda until they change something.

Overall was a good experience. Kayla was very kind and helpful with everything. Only issue I had was them not budging on the price of the vehicle when it was over $1000 cheaper just a week before. Literally could have knocked off a couple hundred and I would have been happy. Because money is all you guys care about please enjoy the 3 star review. Note: I do not believe this was Kayla’s fault.

Eric helped answer all of my questions via e-mail and was quick and thorough with his responses. We were able to work out a fair price - which was much lower than surrounding dealerships - with minimal additional fees tacked on.When I went to purchase the car, Zach helped with this process and was a pleasure to work with. When my inspection was done (very quickly I might add), Brian explained what I was paying for, the discount I received, and sent me on my way. First ever Honda...the Accord 2.0T. Second ever new car experience. So...not a lot of personal experience with buying new cars. Made out great! Bottom line...Altoona Honda had me from the start. Great selection of new cars to choose from. Best of all, Robby Johnson was a real champ through the whole process. We were poised and ready to seal-the-deal on a 2019 Camry XLE. He wasn’t pushy and overbearing. Just the opposite. He was patient and fun to be around. He was so helpful he came in on his day off to be with us. From my perspective the Accord was the better of the two cars for me. I could have been happy with the Camry, but Robby and his GM kept sweetening the deal. We drove home in a brand new Accord. There’s no question Robby was on our side through the whole process and I give him all the credit. Great car....Great new friend...Great dealership. Traveled over an hour to Altoona Honda with an exact vehicle in mind that we found online. It was a last minute decision. Never thought wed be buying a vehicle in the midst of this coronavirus pandemic. But from the moment we were greeted at the door by our kind and friendly salesman JB, my husband and I felt very comfortable and relaxed. The beautiful and clean showroom, very friendly staff, test drive and entire buying experience made it worth the trip. He emailed me back right away to let me know about the services they could provide along with the name and phone number of another reputable business that would be able to handle the transaction for me. I never bought a car from Altoona Honda, but if the rest of the staff is as good as Eric, they will certainly be on the top of my list!

He even followed up a few days later to check in with us and made it a point to let us know to contact him at any time in the future. Zach was also very thorough with the financial aspect and he took the time to make sure we understood the paperwork . Even more importantly, the whole Honda crew made sure we were comfortable and taken care of during the entire time; they even fed us lunch and had a nice toy section to occupy our kids. My wife and I had been looking for a new Civic Coupe for her, for about a month, when I came across a left-over 2016 online at Altoona Honda. After a quick call, I was courteously greeted on the phone by Adam Sloan who informed me it was sold the night before. He immediately inquired of the specific trim I was looking for and offered to discount a 2017 for my wife and I. We had tried to deal with a couple of Honda dealerships near us, but neither seemed interested on discounting their vehicles or earning our business. So after an hour and a half road trip, we arrived at Altoona Honda.The first thing we noticed was a state-of-the-art dealership, new facility, and extremely courteous staff (one young man held the door open for my wife and I as we entered). We were quickly greeted by staff who directed us to Adam Sloan. After a few minutes with him, it was obvious to us that the car buying process was going to be painless. The trade offer was fair and the deal went smoothly. We left with the price and payment being lower than we expected, which allowed us to add an extended warranty on while we worked with the finance department (thank you Justin Griffith).In closing, let my wife and I thank the staff, specifically Adam Sloan (Sales) and Justin Griffith (Finance) for a wonderful buying experience. China from Altoona Honda was wonderful. She was great to work with and she made sure I got exactly what I wanted and I got the exact color I wanted. I absolutely love my new 2020 Honda CR-V. They gave me a substantial amount more for my trade-in (2013 Honda Pilot) than any other dealership had offered and a significant discount on the Accord I purchased. The entire dealership and service department was immaculate! Every member of the team was extremely helpful, honest, and great to work with. Both Darren and China worked side by side to give me the best possible deal in every model or trim I looked at. Neither person tried to sell me a vehicle as most salesmen do. My boyfriend just bought a car here. The one he wanted to test drive was in their other location 2 hours away. They had someone drive it to the dealership we were at. We have been buying Hondas since 1993 from Altoona (previously and affectionately known as Blair Honda) Honda. Over the course of those years we have bought 11 new Hondas from Ken Lingenfelter. Ken has always been, very helpful and he provided all of the time and attention that we needed in making our decision on which vehicle to purchase. He never pushed, bothered or hounded us during the process, and would always take time to talk to us when we went for servicing. As far as we are concerned, buying a Honda from anyone other than Ken is unimaginable!I wrote the preceding paragraph about three years ago, and I am pleased to know that nothing has changed my opinion of Ken Lingenfelter and Altoona Honda. I bought a new CRV two days ago and working with Ken was a pleasure as usual. Ken explained the ins and outs of the vehicle we wanted, and he worked diligently to procure the exact color and trim level that we wanted. Again, as before, I personally cannot imagine buying a Honda from anyone other than Ken.Well, now it is a 2021 Accord Hybrid. The automobile has changed, but Ken made the buying experience about as pleasant as one can make it. We are very satisfied with the process and the outcome.

2022-04-30Excellent experience buying from Altoona Honda. I can say car shopping in the current state of affairs isn’ fun with the lack of inventory everywhere. I was given the run around by many dealer’s selling cars they said were going to arrive that never do. Altoona Honda restored my faith in the process. I found my car on a search, put a deposit on the car and drove 3 hours the next day to pick it up. The salesman, Danny picked me up at the local enterprise rental facility and took me back to the dealership to complete the deal. Car was there all ready to go. I had a nice time talking to everyone at the dealership, I just wish they were closer as I’d like to deal with Altoona Honda for all my future needs. I would drive 3 hours to buy from them again. 5 stars to Altoona Honda, great job to everyone, particularly Danny!

2021-10-14I have to share my experience with this dealership. I have purchased many cars in the past but i have to say this was the easiest and best experience I have ever had. I live 2.5 hours away from the dealer. I contacted Justin at the dealership about a used 2017 Honda Accord. I had a ton of questions since it was black and I saw that they recently sold it a year ago. Justin and Ken reassured me that that the car was almost perfect only one tiny mark on the bumper. They took videos and closer photos to make me feel comfortable about my trip there. Once I arrived i was greeted by a super friendly staff. Ken had most of my paperwork completed and i was in and out in under 60 minutes. They were super busy buying peoples cars and selling cars and still had me out that fast. I recommend Altoona Honda for any of your automotive needs. Just wish I was closer so i can use them for future service appointments.
