Ive been going there for everything my cats need for almost 5 years and this is the best pet supplies shop ever! Everyone there are very knowledgeable. If they dont know something, they will do their best to figure it out for you. The owner always has the best suggestions on supplements for my kitties. Highly recommend them!
Kimmi is the best in town. Knows how to treat doggos that are a little hesitant, gives great advice and has the best products on the market... Food, treats, cold-weather gear, CBD, leashes AND she will special order for you if you dont find what you need in the store.Shop small business!! You wont regret spending your money here instead of Petco or whatever corporate giant.
Very nice shop that offers a variety of items for pets. They have everything that you’ll need to keep your pet happy. The staff is helpful and answers questions. I appreciated the advice I was given. The prices are a bit higher than the chain pet stores. But the knowledge is far better.
Amazing little pet store stocked to the brim with all kinds of things. We stopped in on a recent East Coast road trip and bought the pupster some treats, chatted with the friendly staff, and watch our mutt gulp out of their fountain on the hot summer day. It is obviously a great store staffed by people who love and care about dogs and their humans too.
Dont go in here if youre of color. I have been in here numerous times and every time, the sales associates following me & snatch my purchase out of my hands before I can even make it to the register. Mind you - this is always when there are at least two other (white) customers in the store shopping without being followed/harassed and are able to bring their own purchases to the front of the store.
This Is an amazing pet store located in a beautiful historic neighborhood. They have a wide selection of snacks and food as well as toys and harnesses for your pet. The employees here are usually very knowledgeable about pet nutrition in general. So, if you are not sure what food to get your dog or cat this is the place. Plus they have a loyalty program which really helps curve the food cost for our dog. If I could give it 6 stars, I would! The only issue is parking in old city, but what can you do? Welcome to Philly.
In regards to the review about color, I would have to disagree with you. I am of color and i have seen them help anyone and every color the same. You might have misunderstood their courteous customer service as something more. Sorry for you. It’s a great store and staff.
Theres nothing about this store that really sets it apart from the myriad of other small independent pet supply shops in Philadelphia. All the prices are a little high which is typical for Indie shops because of course they cant compete with Walmart and Amazon. The staff seems very nice and the store is clean and organized.
Everyone was very helpful!!! Love this small store and you can tell they really cared about your pet. Thanks again and will def be back next time Im in Philly. Trump and Bernie toys were hilarious... Please get a Hillary Clinton toy and Ill buy Trump and Hillary next time! Go Bernie!
Don’t trust anyone that tries so hard to antagonize veterinary professionals that have devoted years of their lives to helping your pup. Claiming that they’re “nutrition experts” while spewing false claims is like me claiming I’m the king of the leprechauns. There are plenty of other small businesses you can support.
Edit: Updated based on the owners response to my review.I hope we can all learn from this post, especially Noe, who is not accepting responsibility for posing a threat to the animals who come into the store.I had an all around positive experience here with my little doggo, Lloyd. The adorable shop dog hung around all cute and happy while Lloyd and I did our shopping. And then came the cat.The woman behind the counter had an alarmed look on her face when I announced that I had seen the cat. I immediately told her that though I dont anticipate and issues, I dont know how Lloyd is with cats because he has never met one in his time with us. She immediately looked a little nervous and said that the cat isnt always great with dogs.Ummmm. Is it just me, or am I in a dog shop? Why on Earth would you have an animal loose in a dog store who doesnt get along with dogs?Lloyd froze and stared at the cat (cause hes a wimp and thats what he does when hes scared). The cats back curled up, it hissed, and it charged at Lloyd. I got between the bully cat and Lloyd and we were both very upset with the interaction. My heart was pounding and Lloyd was definitely distressed. I do not know what would have happened had I not put myself between Lloyd and the cat, but I do now know that the cat has a history of attacking dogs and that the owner is in no way accepting responsibility for this, nor is she doing anything to protect the animals who come into the shop.We bought our toy, said goodbye to the cute shop dog and went on our way thinking that this must have been an isolated incident. But I couldnt stop thinking about it because I was so upset and when I got home I decided to look through the Yelp reviews to see if anyone else has had similar experiences, only to find out that the cat attacked a dog in the shop 4 weeks ago. This cat attacked a dog a month ago and is still in the shop.A few weeks later, it hissed and charged my dog.The cat is still in the shop and the owner wrote me a message today basically saying not to come back if I dont like it. Cool, Noe, I definitely wont, but I will also not be quiet and not try to warn other customers that they are endangering their pets by walking in to your store. This is not ok. How many dogs need to get hurt before they take the steps to ensure the safety of the customers and their animals? While I understand based on the shops response to the injured dogs mom on Yelp that the cat is a rescue and is working on issues - my little Lloyd is a shelter dog, too - its not unreasonable to assume that dog boutiques are safe for dogs. You shouldnt worry that there is an animal with a history of violence lurking behind the food aisle.Had I read the other review before I went shopping, I never would have stopped in. Luckily Lloyd wasnt hurt, but the cat is bigger than Lloyd and could have caused seriously injury. Hopefully this will reach more people and we are able to prevent future incidents, or better yet, that the shop removes the combative cat and allows everyone to have a positive and safe shopping experience. Based on her quick and nasty response to both me and the other customer whose dog was attacked, I would say that is not going to happen.Lloyd is NOT the only dog who was put in danger by simply entering BONeJOUR. You and your animals will also be at risk and Noe is placing the value of having the cat in the shop over the value of the safety of our pets. Again, this is not OK. Enter at your own risk, but I certainly dont recommend it.
Owner is extremely unprofessional. She cursed out both her employees and customer within my 5 minute encounter with her. Within seconds, she also accused her employee and customer of being liars. She also refused to honor the Verus Frequent Buyer Program. Boy, do I miss prior owner. The owner mentioned in a prior negative review that the store is videotaped. Lets pull out the tape and see how she handled herself.

2022-02-08Found this place when my boyfriend and I were walking around Old City one day and we are so glad we did! We bought so many cute things for our dog and 2 cats and they were SO HAPPY with all of our new gifts for them. Such an awesome selection! My favorite purchase was a new bowtie for our golden!

2022-07-02Amazing woman-owned pet supply boutique with knowledgable and friendly owner and staff. They carry top quality products and really care about your pets wellness (unlike Doggy Style which only cares about profit). Also love that they have a self- serve dog washing station. They recently changed their name from Bonejour to Anima and moved just around the corner.

2021-12-23I honestly don’t even know where to begin. I moved here with my cat not too long ago and this has easily become one of my favourite places to go. Everything they have recommended has helped my cat adjust. Whether he’s having behavior problems or just feeling down, they’ve really guided me well on how to handle these issues. The staff is EXTREMELY attentive. I have seen them put calls on hold if I am in a time sensitive position. They always ask for my feedback on products I’ve used to make sure things are going well, and they remember me every time which is hard to get at a bigger store. They are a little more expensive, but you’re paying a little extra for so much more care. I would also like to mention, I am a person of color! I saw a different review here that mentioned possible discrimination, and I am extremely apologetic to the person who felt that way, but I have felt very safe and heard in their store.I would recommend this place to anyone who is in need of that extra care and great products! Wish I could give it more stars! So friendly, so loving, and just a very warm feeling as soon as you walk through the door!

2022-02-12By Gosh, this is one of the best places I have shopped in for years. They are ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND KIND AND HELPFUL. My hip was bothering me which made it different for me to get to the store. Welll the young lady volunteered to bring the food to the car with a smile and pleasant chit chat. Those who give false claims need to notice that as they point one accusing finger forward, 3 more are pointing to themselves. THIS IS A GREAT STORE let me repeat THIS IS A GREAT STORE. I live close to Glenside and travel through the city just to get to them and have been doing this all through the pandemic. Once finding them have been a constant customer. OTHERS SHOULD MIMIC THEIR STYLE.

2021-11-20Needed some things for our Screamy Old Lady. BONeJOUR was right around the corner, super friendly, and had just what we needed. From realizing we had the need, to walking to the store, to getting home with the things we needed took five minutes total. Great experience.

2022-02-02We live and work near Bonejour and go there daily. My dog actually walks around the store, and picks out his treats. Kim and her team are welcoming and always offer informative advice on products and tips for my pet, Murphy. Veronica is always working hard and smiley and Felix has been a great help, as well. Really love having Bonejour in the neighborhood!

2022-02-18I had a fantastic experience here with the doggie self wash! I have a German shepherd who hates the bath and everyone at Bonejour made the process super painless. They even gave my dog treats and helped her into the tub! We’ll be back!

2021-07-15The best pet shopping experience I’ve had! The treats are locally sourced and very healthy alternatives to what you get at the big stores. Miranda was so patient with all of my questions and very knowledgeable. She helped me find the right treats and perfect sized harness for my little pup. I’ll definitely be back for more supplies!

2021-04-19Friendly and knowledgeable staff who genuinely care about your pet and the overall customer experience. Great selection of food, toys, clothing, and treats (many of which are from other small local businesses). Our pup is a picky eater with a sensitive GI. Kim and her staff were extremely helpful and supportive on our quest to find a food that worker for us. Would highly recommend to anyone with a dog or cat.
