Easily the best food in Ambridge by a long shot. The seasoning blend on the chicken wings is perfect and the sides are insane. Literally everything on the menu is amazing. They can do no wrong.

I had attempted to order from this restaurant before but it was not successful however today which is Sunday I was able to order and have it delivered to my place of work the food would still hot it was good and tasted Southern as you can get I was quite impressed being from the south I felt a taste of home thanks and I will order again

My daughter and I tried this for the first time. To food took a bit longer than expected (+15 minutes beyond their estimate) so that stunk. We had the fried cod and the catfish. The fish was so tasty! I really enjoyed the catfish. The breading on it was so good. My daughter loved the candied yams. She also had the fries and whike they were good, they needed salt (make sure to grab some if you have takeout). I had the potato salad and the Mac n cheese. It was okay.I would like to go back and try the ribs... the smoke out back smelled amazing.

I had gotten food from Annie Lees before and enjoyed it; so this wasnt the first time Id had their food, its the second stop on my Soul Food journey
That was some of the most fantastic food Ive ever had. The ribs were done so expertly, that I didnt even need to use the BBQ sauce (which was also excellent!) Very friendly service, excellent food, and healthy portions. We got the family pack of whole rack of ribs, 12 wings, four sides, and four drinks, and now I have leftovers of that yummy food for tomorrow!
A little disappointed. My elderly mother went to pick up take out; not everything she ordered was there. They should confirm an order with a customer; before they leave. I called with my concern; and was told they were very busy and thats probably why the item was forgotten. Due better with customer service. This was her second bad experience.
I called ahead and picked up. Staff seemed pleasant. Fish was freshly fried and the ribs smelled and tasted wonderfully smoked. The baked mac and cheese wasnt smoothly textured, but the flavor was fantastic, which is uncommon at restaurants
Literally the best food. Best ribs. Best wings. I especially love the cornbread and yams. Getting my toddler to eat her protein is as easy as handing her a pork rib. Sauce not necessary.

We are not even from the area, we are here because of my job. We came in here hoping for good food but instead we got LIFE-CHANGING comfort food flavors.. it is no exaggeration.. the ribs taste right off the BBQ PIT and the chicken is fried to order.. even the sides were spectacular.. potato salad tastes like at a BBQ down in the south, the red beans and rice taste just like in Louisiana and the cornbread tastes like grandmas. It is great to find a place here that is over the top. We Houstonians thank yall!
Im am a UBEREATS driver and I picked up a delivery, from here and knew I had to come back and try this out for myself. Im glad I did, I ordered the chicken wings and 2 rib bones dinner with red beans and rice and collard greens, everything was seasoned perfectly, my only thing would be that I wish the wings were cooked a little crispier. I will definitely be back
I loved the food! So did my 10 year old. I called and placed my order on a Thursday for superbowl suday. Everything was ready, hot, delicious, and correct. I will be a return customer! Its the sides for me but the ribs were meaty and smokey and cooked perfectly.

I Love This Place. Absolutely some of the best food you will find anywhere. Their cornbread is some of the best I have had anywhere. The ribs are absolutely perfect. The wings are ginormous and cooked perfect every time but its the beans rice and corn bread I go for. I always end up taking my ribs and wings home for later. Get extra cornbread one piece wont do it. The people are always nice and friendly and the food is out fast. Reminds me of home way down south. If you aint been go if youve been you know youre going back pay no attention to the haters they are jealous. Almost forgot the most important part the price its way to cheap you wont believe what you get for the money.
Ribs are very good. Fish sandwich had great fish but on plain white bread not a bun :-( or would give 5 stars...

OMG! It was our first time here in Pittsburgh plus we’re from Brooklyn NY and I must say the soul food is ON POINT!! My family and I throughly enjoyed the food . It was so good we had to call in 😂😂😂The food is plentiful as well. That potato salad was so good too like I wanted to cry 🥴🤣 sorry I love great tasting food yall.PLUS the bbq sauce is sweet with the right amount of tangy and not sour at all! It also has a little spice to it, nothing to be alarmed about lol.Definitely a must try when you come to Pittsburgh! Thank you!
This place is AWESOME! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The catfish is to die for! Perfectly seasoned and needed no sauce. The ribs are tender and fall right off the bone. The mac n cheese is the best Ive ever had. Wanted to try the peach cobbler, but there wasnt any ☹ looks like I have to go back 😊 for sure try this place. It will not disappoint!
Unbelievably great experience. We arrived less than a hour before closing time but they made fresh food for us. Our family was on the hangry side that day, but the food was so good it turned our whole evening around. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and this was one of those times when that made a huge impact. Our meal was four pork ribs, six chicken wings and double fries for sides, which is sold as a set for $22. Completely filled up a family of four. Cant say enough about how great they were to us.
I love this place and the people who work there. Everyone is professional yet very relaxed and personable in their service. The wings are phenomenal (addictive!!) and a side of mac and cheese (crunchy around the edges just like I love it) and sweet potatoes or greens is my go to for a perfect meal. Top quality, easy on the pocket. 💯❤💯❤💯
The ribs were okay. The sides were bland...especially the macaroni & cheese. To be a fresh pan, it was extremely dried out. The greens were blah and the yams were AWFUL! Poor customer service, as well. The server/cashier was rude and had an attitude. Sorry...i really wanted to like this place. 🤷🏽♀️

I like a lot of restaurants, but have few favorites. This is now one of them. Ordered takeout tonight (and therefore cant comment on atmosphere or service) and the food is AMAZING. Ribs were tender and delicious, candied yams were fantastic, and the corn bread is to die for. Well done! Will definitely order again. Best restaurant meal Ive had in a long time!
Comparable to hooks fish and chicken but it’s low key better. No crack dust seasoning but They’re beef ribs are juicy and melt off the bone and their bbq sauces are so delicious and thick. They’re Mac and cheese, potato salad and corn bread are some of the best I’ve ever had and their fish sandwiches are both tasty and cooked perfectly
Me and my wife wanted good soul food so we decided try annie lees before returning home and it was well worth driving for. Everything was delicious the lady who worked there was friendly amazing experience 👏🏽

The Macn cheese was dry and not that good. My grandson ordered yams which he didnt get. The red beans and rice came out a box. Never again

I got the ribs. They were without a doubt the worst I’ve ever had. Burned in places, tough as shoe leather, dry... impossible to eat. I’m from the South. This is NOT how they do ribs of any kind across the south... from NC baby-backs to TX beef ribs. I love just about any style of pork or beef... but I’ll never eat these again. I’m starting to think the Pittsburgh restaurants who claim to BBQ should hang up their tongs, put their smokers away and stick to making pierogies.
The food was horrible the wings were huge had big feathers on them I asked for ribs with no sauce for a reason I don’t like wet meat it was sitting in water when I got there the Mac and cheese look like they sprinkle cheese on top the only thing was gd was the greens I wasted my money

Great good, friendly service and the prices are right. Stopped in twice for lunch and enjoyed my food. The fish is delish! Definitely reminds me of a soul food restaurant in the South. The food was seasoned to perfection, fish fried perfectly and the sweet tea was good.

The catfish was good the cornbread no good it is sweet cornbread I thought it would be real cornbread made from white cornmeal but it is sweet cornbread
I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with the portion I received for a catering experience. Greens no where near enough. Pans were not even half full for 65.00. Potatoe salad. NOT home made for 60.00. Candied sweet potatoe ok. Would not spend 350.00 again for what I received.

Went to get food but would not know how it tasted they closed at 9:30 which is early it says on the door and website they close at 10. That was so annoying and I called at 9:15 no answer.. do better

We went there and the restaurant was barely lit. Food looked decent. We got out orders to go. Not only did I get sick, I gave a bite to my dog and he got sick.

2021-12-01On Thanksgiving, due to us being sick, we werent able to do much 😅 Me and my friend, after a trip to pick up some cold medicine decided to eat at this restaurant we always pass on the way home. When we walk in we are kindly greeted and then asked if we would like a Thanksgiving meal. We said yes with an expectation to pay, but when we asked how much they said FREE! They were so kind and generous that we couldnt help, but be thankful during the most thankful day! The food was great and I am so excited to go back and actually buy something. To all who read this, please stop by here. Their workers are so friendly and because of the generosity it made me and my friends day!

2022-02-13I got the fish dinner (catfish option) with Mac and cheese and their potato salad. I picked up my order, and when I got in my car I was hit with the most DELICIOUS smell I have ever experienced. Filled the car up. It took all my willpower not to bust the container open and devour it completely in the front seat of my car like a wild animal lol. The moment I got home and was able to eat, SOMEHOW it was even MORE delicious than I had anticipated with the smell. Everything was cooked to perfection and spiced perfectly. I had to force myself to eat slowly just so I could savor the taste. I will definitely be coming back here again!!!

2022-03-19Weve very much enjoyed our previous visits here, but this time around gave us pause. We thought we would feed the family with a dozen whole wings and some sides, but wound up with what could best be described as an unfortunate illustration of skimpflation.The full size whole wings we have previously enjoyed had been replaced with what youd expect from a bar as an appetizer. Still very good, but just not enough food there.If cost or supply factors have resulted in this product change thats understandable, but I would prefer paying a higher price for the same dining experience than be confronted with a reduced portion for the same price as before. Thanks.

2022-05-23I always order from here via a food delivery app. Ive thoroughly enjoyed everything from the perfectly seasoned fried wings to the tender and flavorful ribs. The sides are good overall as well. Give them a try.

2021-08-08Had an Uber eats order...ribs are to die for. Fall off the bone. Mac n cheese is DIVINE, collard greens are exceptional! I still have smoked wings im too full to try! This will be my new go to place!

2022-02-14Update 2/13/2022: Just got the fried whiting dinner. Fantastic, some of the best fried fish Ive had period.Absolute best whole wings around (crunchy, well spiced, and juicy), exceptional smoked spare ribs, and very comforting soul food for all the sides. Ive gotten pretty big and meaty ribs most of my visits here, and hoo boy, 3 of those makes a nice entree with 2 sides.This small restaurant is probably one of my favorite lunch places around, with the added benefit that theyre actually open for dinner(!!!) too! Lots of parking in the back, which is a rarity for a PGH satellite town establishment.Their homemade BBQ sauces are also delicious. I like the spicy one with their wings, and the honey one with their ribs.Overall, cant go wrong here. Service is pretty polite and good, and the place is kept pretty clean too.

2019-06-23New to the area and decided to look up a Soul Food spot. We ordered a combo that included 3 wings and 2 spare ribs w/2 sides. The price was amazing and it didnt seem nearly enough for the quantity that we received. The wings were crispy and seasoned deliciously. The spare ribs were smoked and tasty. After our combo we ordered a piece of Lemon Pound Cake. OMG it was delicious! The only downside was they were out of Cherry Koolaid. I was super disappointed, but the food made up for that.
