Im lucky. They failed to show up. I booked them yesterday and they called early today to confirm they would be there. Gave me an all day window. Never showed up. Asked to reschedule. That was an immediate NO. Why would I trust a company who had me take a day from work and took up the entire day -then cancel 15 minutes after a confirmation. The girl who answers the phone sounds like a middle school kid who is unsure of herself and had no problem with them canceling despite that their ad promises same day service and 24 hour service. You cannot find the owners name of the company - but do yourself a favor and search for help elsewhere.
The office staff are professional and responsive. The technician arrived on time and was able to diagnosis the problems quickly. As parts needed to be ordered, he returned at a later date to complete the job. He was very helpful in explaining the problems and, in one case, suggesting something we could do to mitigate future problems.
To y was my repair guy. He came out exactly on time and had the part I needed in his truck all ready so I didnt need to wait. We were back to washing clothes in 20 minutes. How Amazing is that!?!?!? Never been happier with a company. I’m so glad they answered the phone. Tony actually showed me how the machines came apart and taught me a few things about my washing machine. He gave really good advice going forward which I really didn’t even know in terms of brands and reliability. I’m so glad Tony was out to help me!!! What a cool guy :)#AllStars #Fantastic #superbservice #appliancerepairYou guys rock!!!!!
My dishwasher was not closing so I contacted Appliance Doctor hoping a repair would happen. Instead I was charged $148.35 for the service call. The technician was at my house at 9am and out the door by 9:15am. Long enough for him to write up his service charge for $152.35 which I refused to pay for his gas. I did pay the $148.35 for him to tell me the door does not close. The technician never took anything apart or did any type of testing. Basically, he came to collect the service fee. I was scammed!!!!! The manager that I spoke with at 9:30am after the technician left had promised to check into the situation and after many calls to the manager, she has yet returned my call. It is now 16 days later and no call from the manager. I am constantly told she is busy or in training.
It was the best of repairs and the worst of repairs. Ill start with the best -part, which, fortunately, happened at the end. Tony came and, within minutes, fixed our washer. Kudos to him!Now backtrack to the beginning, 5-1/2 months prior to his visit, when we first called Appliance Doctor. They sent a technician over to diagnose our problem. He said we needed a new part. Fine, we waited for that part. We waited and waited and waited. Because of Covid, there was a huge backlog of parts, so we were patient, periodically calling the office for an update. Three months later, the technician came with the new part. I could have kissed him, I was so happy! Alas, my joy was short-lived; it turned out to be the wrong part!! Back to square one, waiting for the new, correct part to come in. Again, that interminable wait and patience wearing thin. Finally, Appliance Doctor sent another technician to diagnose the problem. That was the aforementioned Tony, who said there was nothing wrong with our machine. It just needed to be re-set, which he did. This after 5-1/2 months of lugging two large bags of laundry every week to the laundromat. Do you know how heavy that is, especially after its been washed and Im carrying it back to dry in our dryer? Im an old woman with a bum leg!So what rating to I give this company? The 5-1/2 months of waiting (needlessly) demands a zero, but Tony must get a 5-star rating. I split the difference and gave it a three.
I had made an appointment 3 days ago for a broken dishwasher that appliance doctor already came out to ‘repair’ once. I called this morning to find out what time they were coming today and it turns out they have to order a part and that would take at least 3-5 days to come in. I asked what about my appointment today and the very unprofessional, useless woman told me I didn’t have one scheduled - which I did. If I didn’t contact them, I would have been waiting around all day for an appointment that apparently was never scheduled and probably still waiting for a phone call to find out what’s going on. The girl’s only response to me repeatedly was ‘do you want me to go and order the part. No thank you, I’ll take my business elsewhere to someone who communicates, is professional and has competent people at the front desk to handle situations appropriately rather than dealing with people who are as worthless and useless as my broken dishwasher.
On November 17th my dishwasher would not close. I called Appliance Doctor for a repair which was to happened on November 19th. On the 19th my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for the 20th. The technician arrived at 9am and out the door by 9:15am. He presented me with a bill of 152.35 to tell me the door would not close. He wrote up a work order that I needed a new latch and a an on/off switch for 667.56. That amount does not include the service charge. This technician never touched the dishwasher or take anything apart to see what was the problem. He basically came to collect the service fee. I contacted the manager and she told me she would check into it and would call me back. I have called the manager many times but she is never available. After 14 days of trying to communicate, the manager is still unavailable. I am very disappointed in the service technician and the manager for the lack of service. I was scammed!
All around an awful experience. Our fridge has been broke for 4 months. The first service call was in May. It’s now September. Twice the tech called out, on our appointment day, after I already took the day off of work. Twice the tech didn’t show up. The girls in the office may be the most unpleasant group to deal with, and I sense they do not get along judging by the comments they make about each other. Also don’t try and leave a message their voicemail is always full. I lost track of how many times the techs have been out. I think we are up to number 4. Woke up this morning to our fridge broke again. The only person who I think cares and has any idea what they are doing is the tech Chris. So here we are again with our non-working fridge!
AVOID AT ALL COSTSMy dishwasher stopped working in mid-November. I called Appliance Doctor and got an appointment for someone to come check it out the following week. The technician, Manny, came over (without a mask--I gave him one) and checked out the dishwasher. He said it was an issue with the control board (I had done some research online and this what I also thought). He said it would take a while to get a replacement and we talked about whether it made sense to go ahead with the repair or get a new dishwasher. He suggested I get a new dishwasher. At the time I thought he was being honest but now it just seems like he didnt want to do the work. I looked into getting a new dishwasher but supply chains are messed up right now so there werent many good options for buying a new dishwasher. So I called Appliance Doctor back and said I was interested in a repair. They said they would send Manny back the next week. On the day of the appointment, he didnt call and didnt show. I call the office, they were confused, and said they didnt know what happened, and rescheduled for the following week. That day, Manny called to tell me he couldnt find parking, so could he just skip the appointment. Seriously? I told him Id help him park. He came in (again, no mask) and seemed to start getting to work. After an hour, the dishwasher still didnt work. He said he had the wrong part and would need to order something different. That was before Christmas. He said because of the holiday it would take time to get the part. I waited until after the holiday, expecting a call that the part came in, but didnt hear anything. After New Years I called Appliance Doctor again. They, again, seemed like they didnt know what happened. The woman I spoke to said she would look into it and get back to me. Two more days passed, they got back to me and said they would send out another technician. Alton visited on January 11. He was nice (and wearing a mask), he checked out the dishwasher really quickly and said he didnt know what Manny did. He asks to see the receipt Manny left, but Manny didnt leave any receipt from the work he actually did on his second visit. So Alton said its still the control board, and he would order the part as soon as I approve the work. He called later to tell me that the price for putting in a new control board is $100 higher than what Manny quoted me back in mid-November. I spend multiple days talking to the office to get this straightened out. After over a week they agreed to honor the price they initially quoted me. After more time scheduling a new appointment, Alton came back to my house. This time he said the cabinet face on the sink next to the dishwasher was in the way, and he didnt feel comfortable removing it so that he could work on the dishwasher. He recommended I talk to a carpenter and left. Later, I didnt get a chance to look at the cabinet until later, but all it needed was to cut the caulk on the frame. I did that and was able to move the dishwasher easily. Then I called them back and asked them to come back and do the work they said they would. It took another week to get an appointment. On the morning of the appointment date, I got a call that Alton was unavailable and they would have to reschedule for the following week. So, after FOUR MONTHS, my dishwasher still doesnt work, my time was wasted repeatedly, and I was given bad or conflicting information.
We scheduled an appointment with this Company to have our washing machine and dryer fixed. They were suppose to call us in the morning to give us a timeframe for their arrival. We never received a call in the morning and waited all day for someone to show up or call. They never called or showed up! When we called the Company back the woman who scheduled our appointment initially told us it was never assigned and they are already booked for the following day. Very unprofessional.
Please if you read this, do NOT call this company. I’ve been waiting since before MAY for them to repair my washer. They charged the $139something. Showed up once, pressed a button, said that the washer was repaired and left. I called because the washer never worked and they told me that the technician quit. After two month of keep calling to try to speak to the manager, she said… a technician will call you,,, after three days, I called again and the technician said that they ordered the part and they should call me in about a week. It’s been almost 8 month and I’m still waiting.DONT CALL THEM.
I had Appliance Doctor come out at 9:10 AM, right on time. The tech that arrived was excellent, he diagnosed the problem, gave me a price and completed the work within 20 minutes. I had an important call I had to attend for work at 11:00 AM and I was worried about making it.The tech had the part on his truck completed the job and left around 9:45 AM.Did an awesome job, great price.I will use them again and recommend them to everyone. Thanks for a great experince.
Please STAY AWAY from this company. Literally use ANYONE else or just buy a new appliance. So poorly ran and customer service is pretty much non existent. Sure, they’ll pick up the phone from time to time, but they are no help, overall. My appliance has been down since MARCH and I’m still getting the run around from them. Either the tech isn’t fixing the right part, the part needed is on back order or the tech just shows up to your house(without the courtesy call) puts a little sticker on your door and immediately drives away.STAY AWAY
I wish zero stars was available. We own several properties and have dealt with many sub-contractors and repair folks - so this should be a review that has real merit and experience. This company is a total mess. We were without a washing machine for 5 weeks - as they sent the worst repairman twice, ordered the wrong part twice. Not only charged us for the assessment they charged us a portion of the repair. Neither has been refunded. Then when I asked the manager if she could at least tell me the part - she said the motor and belt (as that is most expensive part) which she completely made up. I ran diagnostics and the motor runs perfectly. That is called FRAUD.Jackie (who runs the office)is absolutely awful. Rude, unhelpful, and not knowledgeable.Stay as far away as possible. Emergency repair companies are notoriously overpriced as you are typically in a tight spot. But at least they should fix it and be timely. This place is neither.
We have lost the use of refrigerator recently. I had ordered one and we were limpling by on using ice until the new one came. My husband had to keep his medicine cold. I got news this morning that they changed the delivery to next month!!!! I had to scramble to my current fixed. I could not keep putting ice in my old one for another month! I called several companies and they simple said they could not come until maybe Saturday. When we called Appliance Doctor and explained the situation to I believe her name was Chantel (sorry if that is not correct) she took the bull by horns so to speak and someone was her in less than 30 minutes. The technician was able to tell us what was wrong and what part was needed. He was on his way to another call but said he would stop here first. He then told us that someone else would be here between 2 and 5 to put in the compressor. Not long after he left we got a phone call someone would be here in 15 minutes to fix it. I can not express our gratitude to all people involved to see that our problem was handled in a most expeditious manner and with the utmost courtesy and professionalism... I am sad to say that is not often the case in these days. Thanks to all of you, I would recommend you to anyone who asks.
Had my appointment scheduled in the beginning of the week, took off work to stay home. Spoke to a technician personally about the appointment. They never showed up. They apologized and said it was a scheduling mistake and rescheduled me for the weekend. I said okay and prepared for the appointment again. Then they called me on the weekend and said they had to cancel again. And rescheduled me for next week.Worst technician experience Ive had. Not using them anymore.
I was a little skeptical after reading the reviews but I decided to give them a try anyways....BIG MISTAKE!!!!Not sure why their name says “Emergency Repair” when you’ll be waiting weeks for a repair!!!Called on a Thursday to request a service technician. Was told he couldn’t come out until that following Tuesday. The tech came out and spent all of 90 seconds diagnosing my issue and charged me $150 for his time. I was told he needed to order parts and I would be called to schedule the appointment. Well I ended up calling a week later to find out the status of my repair. On that call I was told all my parts were in but I would have to wait another week for the technician to come back as that is the next time he will be in the area!?!? So I asked can my job be assigned to another technician because I need my fridge and its already been 2 weeks since it’s been out. The girl had the nerve to tell me “it’s not right to give the job to another technician” WELL IS IS RIGHT TO HAVE CUSTOMERS SITTING AND WAITING WHEN I AM CLEARLY EXPRESSING THE URGENCY ON GETTING THIS REPAIRED? No answer.... I just ordered my parts and they will arrive to me by Thursday! Looks like we will have to get someone else to repair.Long story short, this is not an EMERGENCY REPAIR company. They don’t care about their customers only about their employees. And before they get on here with some rude response like I’ve seen on previous posts, this review is for the right company so don’t try it!VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I called for service on an electric dryer. The receptionist asked questions about the type of dryer that I have and what was going on with it. The technician Alton came out on 4/27/2021 looked at the dryer and said that the repairs would be $286. 99 for the repairs. The timer and knob needed to be replaced. The fee for them to come out was 84.00 and if the work was going to be done by them the fee would be waived. The technician told me that it eould take 5-6 days for the parts to come in. When you call a repair person you are expecting some repairs to be completed on that day or the next. So I was asked for $84.00 for his time and while he was here I went online to order the parts for myself so that I wouldnt have to wait 5-6 more days. He was very unprofessional and short. The dryer piece is going to cost me $85.00 and I went onto youtube and the part is so simple to fix. Appliance doctor you should be ashamed of yourselves. Alton was the worst technician ever. Run from this company. I am still waiting for the supervisor to return my call. Today is Saturday 5/1/2021.
Our refrigerator stopped working before Thanksgiving (11/19), so we called Appliance Doctor for their Emergency Appliance Repair. They were unable to come out until 11/23 and when the repairman arrived, he was very short (rude) with his diagnosis (bad control board) and left after 15 minutes. Instead of bringing a new board with him to make the repair (which according to the Internet is the most common problem in new refrigerators and our symptoms matched) they had to order, receive, and then return to install. We called and were told that the board was on backorder with Appliance Doctors supplier until 11/28. When they received the board, the service appointment was made for 12/4 (despite putting us down for the earliest opening). When the same repairman arrived to install the board (~10 min install), he found the new board was defective. After a couple attempts to get it to work, he called their office and asked that two boards be ordered (so this time he would have a backup) and then left us again with a broken refrigerator. On 12/10, we learned the new board would not be received until 12/13 which meant the service appointment could not be until at least the week of 12/14 (nearly a month since our original call to Appliance Doctor). Instead of waiting further, I requested a full refund of our $250 deposit.Despite multiple calls (from 12/7 - 12/18) and attempts to discuss with the manager, on 12/21 I received an email from the manager that they would deduct the $80 service fee from my refund.Had the serviceman been more empathetic to our situation (being without a refrigerator for a month) OR if the manager would have been either proactive contacting us or responsive to our calls, I would be more understanding about keeping the $80 service fee. Since we received nothing but delay and frustration from Appliance Doctor, I feel they should refund the service fee as well.
Initial appointment set up with Jackie-supervisor went smoothly. Technician came out, was professional; checked refrigerator, advise me that a part was needed to fix the refrigerator. He informed me that I had to pay 50percent upfront for the part then pay remaining balance for the part once installed. Spoke and confirmed with Jackie-supervisor; she explained that they would refund me if they can’t fix the refrigerator with new part. I was skeptical but agreed to write them a check. Unfortunately with new part, refrigerator was unable to be fixed, my check was cashed, and I have not received my refund. A month went by, every time I call to speak to supervisor about my refund, she is unavailable to speak, or she is working on refund, or accounting is working on refund. After a month, I called again, they tell me “refund in the mail” two weeks goes by and no refund in the mail. I tried asking for Jackie-supervisor, she is always unavailable to speak to me. If I could, give it a negative no star! They are SCAMMERS!!
Unfortunately, quite a poor experience. While they were quite quick to show up for an appointment (+) to fix a broken stove igniter, they ordered a part which took a month to arrive. (They indicated that this was a Covid-related delay.) After a couple of weeks waiting patiently, but following up, I ordered the part myself, received it in a day, and requested a refund. Since that time - about four weeks now, they continue to avoid my calls and emails, but insist they will get around to refunding me. But still nothing - despite the very friendly, seemingly understanding receptionists - who are unfailingly polite.
Weve used them before for when our dishwasher clogged. They were out quickly and fixed the problem quickly. Weve since got a new dishwasher. But, unfortunately weve had issues with that now. Originally called the warranty company to have that fixed, but long story short they were horrible Abd we got out money back for the dishwasher. Same dishwasher is now $100+ more and this one is barely a year old. So, we decided to call Appliance doctor again. They were supposed to come out 2-3 weeks ago on a Saturday morning. It was started to get into the afternoon and Ive yet to hear from them. I call up and it turns out, someone decided to not put me on the schedule. Already annoyed with the situation, this didnt help. So, finally, we get done back here today. Wish I got his name, but I didnt. He comes in starts doing his thing. I run out for coffee and sandwiches, gone maybe 10-15 minutes. Coming back down my street and hes leaving. My wife tells me he says, were gonna need a thinner tech here to get in there. She asked when thats gonna be, he just says, theyll let you know Monday. And just walks out.He made no effort to even get under my sink. He just stared at it for a few seconds and decided he cant get in there. Im actually bigger than he was And Ive gotten under there several times to replace my drain And other things. He made no effort to take off his thick jacket And try to squeeze in. Its bad enough that he made zero effort, its worse how he was in just such a hurry to get out of here. Cherry on top when we called them to find out whats going on, the woman on the phone informed us that they have bigger techs than him and have never heard any of them use this excuse. I guess we just got the laziest tech they have.
I had two issues with my dishwasher. The first repairman fixed the wiring issue but not the leak. I asked him before he left if the leak was fixed and he said he didnt see one. The second repairman they sent couldnt find it either, so I showed it to him. He kept yelling its the tub and told me to call GE. Two repairmen, $280, and I still cant use my dishwasher.Update: The leak ended up needed a washer for the fill funnel. It was a $12 part and my dishwasher is now working. It was not fixed by Appliance Doctor.
It a scam company. The repair technician not professional. They want to change me $361.98 to change thermostat sensor in my dryer. The sensor cost $7.98 in Amazon pack of 8. It absolutely stealing from people. Wow. I do understand the business need to make money but that not right of conducting business. Shame on you to charge people this kind of prices.
Called for repair on my washer. Diagnosed issue, then ordered parts. Upon return (over a week later) stated that new part was defective. Another two weeks until returning to fix with replacement, and tech ducked out quietly and left. Office called to say THIS new part was also broken. Totally incompetent and unreliable. Look elsewhere!
3rd update: A repair tech from Appliance Doctor is scheduled to be out again to look at my mothers washing machine which wasnt fixed after a misdiagnosis, waiting many months for a part, finding it was the wrong part, then waiting again only to find out that, apparently, a part wasnt needed at all. It was reset by a different technician, which did not fix the problem, although it seemed as if it had initially. Although its been problematic and drawn out to get this washing machine (which is relatively new) fixed, I give the company credit for attempting to resolve the problem by taking another look this Friday. Fingers crossed!!!!
We had replaced a couple parts (on our own) on our washer but still had a leak. Tony was very professional and knowledgeable and within minutes, showed us our problem. We are still undecided on fixing or replacing our washer. We have used this business before for our (30+ yr old) dryer and it is still working great. Highly recommend them.
SCAM SCAN SCAM !!! Do not use !!!!Scheduled appointment cancelled day of visit. Rescheduled for a different day . Tech showed up 45 min late ( no phone call or apology). Tells me from the get go that it would need a motherboard .Unscrewed few screws and tells me that it may need freon too . Whole visit took less than 15 min for which I was charged close to $100 . He then proceed to leave telling me that he will call me with an estimate . Calls me the next day to tell me that the motherboard is no longer available and that I should get another refrigerator . TOTAL LIE since I called the manufacturer and parts are readily available . So I guess the DR makes all his money of diagnosis .So I would definitely stay from this company .
This was the best experience Ive had with an appliance repairman. Tony called and gave me a 3 hour arrival window, he arrived promptly and set to work. He quickly identified the problem, which thankfully was super simple so he was able to complete the repair. He noticed that some screws were missing behind the washer, and although it had nothing to do with the problem, replaced the missing screws. He made sure everything was working properly prior to leaving. He did all this with a friendly and helpful attitude. And pointed things out to me as he went. I will absolutely use Appliance Doctor again and recommend Tony without reservation.
This company is a scam.We had a technician come out to our house in November to evaluate our broken fridge. He made our whole house smell like cigarettes and never even looked inside the actual refrigerator. He charged 200$ for the evaluation and said the part would be in within a week. Long story short, we called back for weeks asking for an update and there was nothing listed in their system about our part. Finally after over a month, I emailed their manager Jackie. Here we are two months later still with no call back, no refund, and no information about what actually happened. Every time I call requesting to actually speak to the manager on the phone, she is away from her desk or on a call. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I called Appliance Doctor and spoke to Jackie, one of the most helpful, professional people I’ve talked to in a long time. I was angry about my washer and Jackie held her composure with me while assisting me with my problem. It’s nice to hear such a friendly, knowledgeable voice among a mountain of chaos that 2020 has turned out to be. Super helpful, friendly, and courteous! Would definitely recommend AD!
I will not hesitate to use Appliance Doctor for any appliance repairs in the future. My technician was prompt, incredibly professional, informative and didn’t mind my crazy dogs. A total bonus. He even came back to my house after I didn’t hear the door the first time. Truly exceptional in my book!
Ive used Appliance Doctor before and was pleased with them, so when my washer died I knew who to call. I got an appointment scheduled for the next day. The technician arrived within the designated time frame and was very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely use Appliance Doctor again and will continue to recommend to friends/family.
Dishwasher Repair price was 4 times the service call fee ; that I paid/ lost. Appliance doctor didn’t have the parts on the truck needed for the repair.Even though They requested the dishwasher model and problem information in advance. The one bright spot was the service technician, was very polite and professional.Customer’s reply to appliance Doctor’s post, ( dishwasher was not repaired) no parts on truck, plus your repair price was 4 times the service fee)
We are a small business that called to get service for our washing machine. After they cancelled our first service appointment due to a technician calling out and rescheduling they arrived to look at the washer. After 3 minutes and putting our original belt back into place we were quoted $239 with a 90 day warranty. Then suddenly that was changed to $189 with a 90 day warranty. When we asked to not pay the warranty we were told we have to and it is actually 30 day. As a person that takes pride in running a small business and doing right by my customers I am sadly disappointed in this business and will not use in the future. As per the response from the company. Thank you for caring for your employees. It is important to see their worth. However, as an owner I would hold off on finding them at fault for every bad review as you have stated in your response to my review and many others: they are not communicating properly. Actually it was not your technicians fault for poor communication as you stated. The office originally stated that the cost for a service call was 79.99. If there was service to be done, then the cost would be waved and the fee for repair would only be incurred.Second: if you are truly sincere on caring about these reviews and making it better, I recommend calling your upset customers and talking to them to see their perspective. We attempted to talk to your office and were not heard. Sadly you stated that the original quote was for a part. May I ask why the service was performed. We were called to see what was done: a belt fell off and he placed it back on so it returned to working condition. He then wrote on a piece of paper it will cost us $239 for the service he performed. When we looked a little overwhelmed at that cost for belt replacement, he then went..uhhhh....ok how about $189. So I appreciate the response, but truly and honestly just pick up the phone and sincerely listen to your customers that are upset. It may get you farther in the long run and truly help drive a better business. I was sad that this happened. I like finding great local companies that strive for customer service and positive working environments.
I couldnt believe the service!!! No company has ever been as thorough, competent and totally making sure that everything has been taking care of to the customers satisfaction before leaving. Best part, Tony did it with a pleasant smile and no grumbling or griping about his work! He also answered questions and gave suggestions on how to maintain your appliances so they would last longer! Tony was a 10 star!!! I would highly recommend him and this company to everyone! Tony, thank you for being so helpful and washer and dryers running beautifully!
I had a great experience with Appliance Doctor recently. They came out to diagnose and fix my Samsung dryer and they did so efficiently and at a fair price. I was especially surprised with how quickly they fixed the dryer given what Im sure are difficult supply chain delays. I would highly recommend this company!
Fast response time. Technician was great. Professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He explained the problem and solution after diagnosing the issue. He returned a few days later to do the repair and was able to finish quickly.Would definitely recommend Appliance Doctor for really GREAT service.
I called Appliance Doctor on Friday and was able to get a Saturday appointment to fix my dishwasher. Narju and Chris arrived within the time frame they gave me. They were professional and courteous. They quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem and then tested the dishwasher to make sure everything was in good in order. All in all it was a very good experience. The service and technicians were excellent from the initial call right through to the end. I would definitely call them again.
We had used Appliance Doctor in the past with a good outcome. Recently, we schedule last Tuesday for a repair call for our dryer. It is already annoining that they dont give you a more narrow service window, but ok we accepted the window from 11:00am to 3:00pm, right in the middle of the day. My wife waited all day for them, with a no show. No call to explain why. When she called at 4:30, she was told they would call her right back once they contacted the repair person. No call back. I called the next morning. The earliest they would schedule is Saturday with another all day window. How does a no show on their part put us at the end of the list of priority? How is it that they call themselves an emergency appliance repair service with this type of response?
Our ice maker was broken and a very young man came in looked at it for 5 minutes and told us we needed a new one at the cost of over $400. We looked up the price of new icemaker and even considering labor and profit a new ice maker should cost under $250 easily. We were charged $89 plus tax for the visit and we actually fixed the icemaker ourselves. It was just clogged a bit. I called to ask for some consideration on the service visit charge due to the bad service we received and was literally blown off by the manager. I would have been happy if they split the service call fee, was notl looking for a total credit. Unfortunately, I wrote them a check.
One of the top burners on my stove would not light, and no matter what I did, I could not fix it myself. Appliance Doctor immediately found the hole I missed that needed unblocking. The whole thing took 5 minutes at the most. What annoyed me is that I was charged an outrageous amount of $139. He even borrowed my paperclip. Perhaps I should have charged him $85 for its use. I have called twice to see if I could get the cost reduced, but no one has called me back for around 2 weeks. They were number one on my list, but since they have given me no satisfaction, they are about to be removed entirely from my list.
I did not like the fact that I was told it cost $89.95 and no one said plus tax to determine what was wrong with my appliance. I just wish they had been up front and told you everything. They should’ve said it’s 89.95+ tax so you will pay 101.00 and some change when it’s all said and done. I feel like this company is a rip off . Also the people who make the appointments need a class on customer service and professionalism. Not a happy camper!!!!
Appliance doctor came out to our home to fix our dryer and though the technician was far from friendly, it was working when they left. Fast forward to 3 months and 1 week and it has reverted back to the same problem. Called the appliance doctor for someone to come back out because I have to wonder if they simply put a bandaid on the issue the first time and was told that I would need to pay full price for both the technician to just come out and look at it and then additional full price for any repairs because they only cover costs for up to 3 months after repairs... 3 months and 1 week just didn’t cut it. Complete waste of money and time. After paying 268 the first time for it to not work 3 months (oh and don’t forget the one week) later, why would I pay an additional 268 for repairs just for it to not work again in three 3 months if the job is again not done? STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY!
Its quite simple, I called for a repair. Made an appointment for a technician to come repair it at the company’s convenience, with the ever popular 3hr window, which was a week later. Morning of the appointment, we get a call 30mins before that “they do not have a technician in our area; and could they schedule us 3 days later?” We agreed. This morning, 40mins before the appointment, we get a call with the same message and request to reschedule, again. We said no, and we’ll go elsewhere. The idea of an appointment is to have a time set aside for a technician, to be in the area and at least diagnose, if not repair the problem. The company controls the appointments, not the customer. I read the another reviewers complaint of the same issue. I wasnt even asking for emergency service. We are in a “green” state. Covid is not the issue. Canceling with 30mins notice twice in one week is unprofessional.
I often DIY my repairs but it takes me a while and I didnt have the time. Service was next day after my call. The tech (John) was courteous and knowledgable. After diagnosing and repairing, he noticed that the part he installed was faulty - working, but not correctly. So he replaced the faulty part, essentially doing the repair twice. As a DIY guy, I would never have caught that. I was very happy and would use them again.
The technician that came was rude and did not clearly explain the situation. He just said the dishwasher needed to be replaced and left- with water all over the floor, dishwasher in the middle of the kitchen - left without telling me. Worse customer service. Never use them!
I would like to start by saying that they have a quick phone answering service which is worthless because service never gets completes, I had called about 8 times requesting to get a quote to get my washer repaired they said they will call me back because nobody knows what’s wrong whit the appliance they have to contact the technician oh! But they said they will call you back in and hour, before noon or next day but they never do, I had to call back because I put a deposit and it is always the same I can’t understand how this company operates I guess at this point I have to look for a different company yo performed service, the owner should be ashamed of their personnel!
They get 2 stars because they called me back. Which is better than most contractors in this area. I asked for a Tuesday morning arrival and the technician calls me at 9am and says arrival window between 11am and 3pm. Ok mildly annoying, wanted a morning appointment because I needed to do something in the afternoon but whatever. At least my stove is getting fixed. Havent had baked anything in forever. Asked my wife to handle it and she said sure. Aint she great. Came back to my house around 3pm, guess the technician got there around 1pm. Was charged $80 something dollars for the diagnostics, got to order parts and will call with the estimate. Ok, mildly annoyed again, was hoping for a fixed stove, but Ill take it. My wife was telling me that the technician was very dismissive of her and I had a friend over that confirmed it. Also my dog confirmed it by barking at the technician. She never barks and shes cute. Btw, I assumed there was a dispatch fee or something but was never told that so almost a mystery surprise there. Jump forward to a day later. Im on the phone, I get a call from a number I dont recognize, it goes to voicemail and its the technician that did the diagnostics. His message was essentially (and about as many words), cant find/get the parts, dont make them anymore, and a phone number. He was terse and unfriendly. Hell man I spent $80 for you to deliver that message. You could at least try and be nice about it. Anyways, back to the oven. Still not fixed. I had at least hoped maybe I could a recommendation or something because now Im back to where I was before, broke oven and $80 poorer. Im not upset that they couldnt fix it. Im upset that the experience was terrible and they couldnt fix it. Meanwhile every oven in the world is backorder and I still cant bake any delicious baked goods. While everyone else was making bread during covid I was just there watching videos of them doing it.
The lack of customer service is embarrassing. I should have just canceled my appointment when they tried to reschedule my appointment the morning of. There is no reason I should be the one calling every other day for an update. Alton was exceptional. But, the scheduling department is awful.
Appliance doctor was great! I just got home from food shopping when I noticed my freezer wasn’t keeping my food frozen. Chris came out 2 hours after I called. Was very polit and professional. Diagnosed the fan right away and had the part on his truck. Had me up and running in no time and I didn’t lose any food! I will definitely use this company again!
I wish I could give 0 stars. We only agreed to have them come out because they said the $152 fee for service call could be put towards the repair fee but they swindled us. First the tech gave a 4 hour time frame and came after that time frame. Then when he showed up he looked out of it, he said he wasnt feeling well. He didnt have a screw driver so he had to borrow ours to look at our dryer. The tech said he would order us a part and call us the next day. We never heard the next day so my husband called them the day after that. The tech who worked on our place was mysteriously fired and they wouldnt tell us why. The person on the other line said they would order us the part and it would cost $450 for everything, we agreed even though it seemed high. The next day we called again to see when they would be able to fix our dryer, the lady said the part is unavailable, then rudely told us we are still responsible for the 152 dollars and hung up on us.
Dont waste your time! They dont even deserve 1 star. Came in to diagnose an oven that wouldnt heat and fix 1 broken burner. Its a double oven with 5 burners so we were still able to use it. The repair guy said it would take a few days for parts. 3 weeks later and after multiple calls, they finally got the parts and came back to do the repairs. This is when the real trouble started. While trying to fix the burner, the repair guy broke a valve which meant the gas needed to be shut off and we couldnt use the stovetop or oven. He said he would get the part and be back the next day. After numerous calls and constantly being told it would be another day or 2, they finally came back 2 weeks later. The repair guy spent about 25 minutes in the kitchen, during which he turned the gas on for some reason and the whole floor smelled. He then called me in to show me that he couldnt get the burner off to get to the valve without breaking it because it was rusted. He had apparently already called and confirmed the part was in the warehouse and said he would be back Monday (this was a sat). After he left i took a minute to wipe down the burner which wasnt rusted, just a little dirty near the screw, and had the burner off a minute later.Monday comes and we call only to be told that he doesnt have the part and he isnt available that day anyway. Tuesday were told that he realized the part he was replacing didnt come as a kit and he needed to order additional parts. We are now on day 21 since they broke our oven with no idea of when they will be returning to fix it and about 6 weeks since the original visit. At this point, i dont expect they will be capable of completing the repair and Im considering my options to get them to cover the cost of the damages they did.
Called on Friday for a broken oven and was told I would get a call Monday between 8-9 with a time the repair man would show up on Monday. No call, no one showed up and when I called them at 3:00 they said sorry our first appointment is Thursday. So now Im at square one - poor customer service if you cant set expectations in the first interaction. No 2nd chance from me!
They charged me 249.00 dollars for a 15.00 dollar part and they spent 20 minutes in my house.and that’s being generous. they say that they don’t charge for the service call but they do. They hide it in the 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 of the job. I will never use this company again i’m getting tired of these companies ripping people off. Even though I know they have to make money but they don’t have too rip people off by overcharging.
Tony serviced our washing machine. He was very friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the washing machine and dryer. He fixed the problems quickly and efficiently. He was on time too. Both machines are running smoothly. He saved us from buying new appliances. Thank you Tony.
Sent someone who was incompetent. Didn’t know what was wrong with my fridge but said whatever it was would be over $700 and didn’t recommend fixing.Today, the GE repairman diagnosed it in 5 minutes as needing a new fan motor. Fixed within the hour and less than $350.I responded to Appliance Dr privately since they asked you to not review online if you had a problem, to contact them directly. I did, twice. No response.Don’t call them!
Very knowledgeable and professional. The gentleman that came to our house discussed what needed attention beyond what they were able to provide and even shared options so that I would be more knowledgeable when I spoke to a plumber. My husband and I highly recommend their service!SincerelyThe McMonagles
Be carefully, be very, very carefully! Two techs showed up on time, one must have have been in training. The training tech tech took the lead. Quoted me a price part 6x what the part actually cost. So a $20 cost $120. Wow. The labor was crazy. A 45 min. job was quoted at $300. Thats not including tax and gas& tolls. Thats right gas and tolls. I live in NE Philly. Last time I checked there r no toll bridges. And u want me to pay for your gas to go to work! Really! Played the $89.00 service charge. Moving on, doing the job myself. Instructions on YouTube.
Cost me $79.95 for them to come out, which was ok. What was not ok, the repair man that came to my home, told us it was the evaporator fan and the motherboard, which would have cost me over $600. Turns out that it was only the fan, an $80 part, that I replaced myself. BEWARE!
I will never use Appliance Doctor again. Not a good experience first the service charge was 80.00 plus tax, second the technician arrived at my home looked at my refrigerator and said I need a control electronics and quoted this large amount to fix my refrigerator. I told the technician i would think about it. A 80.00 plus tax visit turned into a 90.35 visit. I was informed by the technician it was a 4.00 charge for gas. If you are a appliance service company you have to come to the customer home. I WILL NEVER USE APPLIANCE DOCTOR RIP AGAIN!!
My oven broke and my wife was freaking out because we were having 18 people for dinner for the holiday. Jackie was great. She ordered the part and Tony came ASAP and installed the oven fan. Weve used many repair services, but I will definitely us appliance doctor again.
I paid for the service, the repair costs are more than a new appliance, the repair man does not contact you after his visit and you are really not sure why, the girls in the office seem very nice but the again the service repair man does not actually let you know if you have an electrical problem . No good.
I have used Appliance Doctor 4 times. Each time, I have been very satisfied with their service. The technician has always arrived on time and been courteous and professional in attitude and appearance. Their diagnosis and recommendations have always been accurate and honest. I highly recommend this business.
The service technician was very professional he arrived on time, checked out my dishwasher and fixed it in no time flat. He also recommended I use dishwasher magic to get the gunk out of the dishwasher which I got and now my dishwasher is sparkling clean and my dishes are cleaner than ever. Thank you so much Appliance Doctor youre the greatest I will use you whenever I need repairs to my appliances.
Yeah!!! They need to go out of business and GO AWAY! We had appliance doctor out Nov. 4th 2017 and they serviced a gas stove. It wouldnt light right away. After they serviced it, it still wouldnt light. My wife complained and they said they will check with the technician and get back with us. They dragged it out over a month, my wife would call, and they would say the same thing. So I started calling and though I thought I was making headway I really wasnt. I stated my request, either fix the stove or give us our money back. Today is December 26th, I called and they said it would be over 600.00 to fix the stove. I could buy a new stove for that. Matter of fact the problem is much simpler and will only cost about $30.00 in parts. Please save yourself the frustration and dont deal with this incompetent company.
Stay clear of this place, they are terrible with their service. They have inexperienced techs, do not show up on time, fail to call you to reschedule, I made over 6 calls to try and get an appointment rescheduled because they sent out an inexperienced tech after they knew the nature of the call and still to this day they are rescheduling on me every time I have an appt. Terrible company.
Highly overpriced services... I expected to pay a bit more than usual for the convenience of next-day service, only to have my appointment cancelled the day of service and moved to the following day. Then the actual repair quote was double what it should have been! Please consider other options if possible and avoid this company.
I used this service back in April 5th, I had a water underneath my fridge and saw a spark in the back we turn it off and found them in the listings and called them to come out.Up to that point it seem all good but when a the tech arrived, I felt he was uncomfortable being there and trying to locate my problem he felt it was my water valve to the fridge and wanted to charge me over 400 to fix it, granted i wasnt sure where the valve was and we didnt find it when he was there, as it turn out after he left we discovered it was under my fridge all along and there was nothing wrong with it. The problem turn out to be a tube pop off the water line to the ice maker and that cause the water on my floor. There is no way I am ever going to use these people nor call anyone who wants to charge me just walk in my door, I will find the problem myself even it it takes me all day, then i will decide what to do.
Jason did a fantastic job installing a new glass countertop for my stove. Due to a fire in my kitchen, my glass top was irreparably damaged. But thanks to Appliance Doctor and the skillful craftsmanship of Jason, I now have a stove countertop that works well and looks more beautiful than ever before. I would recommend Jason and Appliance Doctor to my friends and family - and anyone who needs appliance repair.
As a service provider myself,I take reviews very seriously .In fact ,i cant recall ever leaving a company a less than stellar review. The fact that its been so long between the first call and the final resolution ,i know some details are missed..Early november i called for service on my 2 year old kenmore washer. When the tech leon showed 2 days later,he spent less than 5 minutes diagnosing the problem as a bad control board .part would have to be ordered.2 phone calls on my part to nail down when the part would arrive and a repair date was scheduled for the next week...leon shows to install the part and doesnt even get out of the neighborhood before its doing the exact same thing.A phone call to the office and they tell me that leon cant come back for another day or 2...If someone in my company messes up on a diag or repair, its all hands on deck and that customer is a priority...apparently not with this company. When leon finally does comeback saying he misadjusted the door,i wasnt suprised when the washer still malfuntioned. After multiple phone calls asking for the owner and being denied, the manager jackie said they would send another tech another week later...tony shows up and was professional and thorough and diagnosed it as a bad switch..not the control board that leon had misdiagnosed.ordered the part and after another week it was installed and worked as it should..after multiple phone calls to talk to the owner or manager to dispute the difference in price between a control board and switch ,never hearing from the owner i finally received a $50 check.Start to finish a very bad experience and not the way a service buisiness should be run ,Although Jackie did try to fix the situation, the other girls in the office ,esp Chantel were extermely rude and unprofeesional and in my opinion ,most of this could have been rectified by some response from the owner....follow up.after speaking to the owner Rick,I believe positive changes will take place in his business and if the need should arise,I will give them another try
These people charge too much just to come out $90 was a waste of money to just look at my stove. They showed up after 8pm and said they would come 5-8pm. On top of that they want to charge over $200 to fix a minor part on my stove. They came out basically for me to have to buy a new stove.
I been waiting for a refund December 2020 im so mad right now the owner said i would get a refund they sent me a check for 10.09 To the Owner plz help get my money back ur store did me wrong i have kids. called the store they said That i would have to call the owner myself (really) this is driving me crazy

For more than 52 years, Appliance Doctor, a second generation local family business, has provided appliance repair services to the people of the Philadelphia Metro Region.Repair services on refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, washers, dryers, ranges, ovens, garbage disposers, dishwashers, microwave ovens, and more.
We had to follow up with them for 2 weeks and everytime we called they couldn’t find us in the system. They had no idea if we were scheduling new service or if they had already come out. They never ordered the parts until I called to remind them so we had to wait another week and now have to wait an additional week to have someone come out with the parts.

2022-07-25Appliance Doctor Serviceman was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and fixed our dryer in a very short period of time. If we were to have another appliance that needs to be repaired we will call Appliance Doctor. It is getting rare that repairman will come to your home without charging ridiculous prices and Appliance Doctor was reasonable. Extending the life of a current appliance is better than buying a new one of probable lower quality.

2022-04-11Microwave broke, called them to fix. Repair man came out, was there 10-15minutes and told me if doesnt work call back, you have 30 days. 2 days later stopped working, he came out, couldnt tell me the part needed, then called to ask if I wanted him to order. Waiting now for his return. They do not commit to appointment times, he states he is never in my area, office says he is. Customer service is awful, was hung up on by someone in office.I cant recommend them, poor customer service. Will not have them come back to my place. Unfortunately out 153.00 for unprofessional service.

2022-05-14The technician was very nice and knowledgeable. He was on time and communicated the problem and what part that was needed really quick. Unfortunately the part had to be ordered so it couldn’t be done the same day but when the part came in which was less than the time told I schedule a day and they gave me a time and the part was in without any issues.

2022-03-19Scheduled a microwave repair and planned our entire Saturday around their 4- hour window. William, the repair guy assigned, called to say he was on his way. Cool. However, whilst on the phone, he proceeded to remind me multiple times that theyre charging $139.99 for the visit. Informed him were aware each time. He said well I dont have any parts for this it wont be an easy repair and did we call Samsung. Literally asked him, why are you talking us out of the service? It didnt come off as him helping to save us money felt more like, its nice out and he has better things to do. Especially since our window was 2pm-5pm and here it is almost 4pm... now just go home early. Welp, well figure out our microwave but Appliance Doctor has 1 less customer and 0 referrals to my fellow RE agents and Property Managers.

2022-06-22Came out for dryer repair smell of gas, was advised there would be a 99.00 service but if I had repair done it would be removed, Tech arrived and spent no more then 10 minutes cleaning lint out of dryer. Office then advised I was being charged a labor fee and my total would be 153.00, questioned amount but service fee wasnt removed.

2022-04-13Called to make an appointment for Wednesday morning, they confirmed and called to change appointment to 2 to 5 pm. They called at 4 to reschedule after I lost a day of work. Never againVery unprofessional. Zero stars.
