This is an excellent location with beautiful water views of Eries bay. The Oyster bar is perfect, with many selections from knowledgeable staff. The food is expertly prepared and served. The team constantly demonstrates they like to PLEASE their customers. I love it here!
Amazing service by all staff particularly Morgan who made the most incredible espresso martini for me! We got the charcuterie board to eat with our drinks and it was so delicious 😋😋😋. The fig preserves were to die for! I will be back as much as possible! The ambiance and staff are top tier 🥰
Can’t beat the views!!! Friendly service and awesome atmosphere. We celebrated a birthday at the Bay House. I had the filet and it was outstanding. So many drink specials to choose from! Oysters were fresh and delish. I would definitely recommend Bay House for your next date night!
The mussels in tarragon cream sauce were horrible, very fishy taste, smelled terrible and just plain ugly. I had to spit mine out, my brother and husband tried to power through and each choked down a couple. Seafood dip was luke warm and fair. Grilled oysters were served without the red and green sauces. We decided to forgo dinner and went to the Sheraton. Will not go back.
We were really excited to try this place! I mean fresh oyster bar by the water!? Yes please! Unfortunately, from the beginning the experience and food was very disappointing. When we walked in we had a reservation but you could tell they didn’t plan for us to come (weird since we had a reservation and on time) so we watched them scramble to find us a table which took 15 minutes. We were sat the server was friendly but not very knowledgeable on what was actually available on the menu. We picked out 12 oysters and then were told they only had 2 selections left. The food runners didnt know the table numbers so literally almost gave us someone else’s food or almost gave our food away multiple times. I’m a server and noticed that so anytime something came out I was looking to make sure it went to the right table around me. We also noticed that food was taking forever so we decided to just get a charcuterie board, oysters, a salad, and croquettes. IT TOOK OVER 2 HOURS for just that!!! Oyster were good but not the ones we wanted which is fine we came in later, salad was terrible basically just lettuce with a drizzle of dressing, croquettes came with no dipping sauce and the charcuterie board was way overpriced for what was on that board which was mostly nuts. Ended up spending over 100 on a terrible overall experience. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but my friend just went Friday and it was just as bad. Wouldn’t waste my money!
Great food great atmosphere highest writer Aaron! Very odd greeting from the hostess who at 2 min to 4 claimed we are not open .....people understand when a business opens at 4 but maybe a good evening.....we will be with you shortly.....then we were told we didnt have reservations which we did after seating us the rest of our party came in and were told qe werent there which we were so they walked through until tgy found us lol

2022-01-02Great atmosphere. Fantastic food! Although wifes filet was way overcooked, it was promptly taken care of. Pork porterhouse was great. Mini crab cakes were phenomenal, they are definitely mini. Great drink selection. We were hesitant on the oysters but gave em a shot and they were surprisingly delicious. Will definitely return. Another great concept of Johns.

2022-06-25I took my 3 teenage daughters here for dinner while on vacation. Our evening was great! The waitress was amazing… the chef was awesome and brought me out some peppers that were in the ahi tuna dish to take home (which was absolutely incredible)! The raw oyster selection was extensive and I enjoyed a full dozen all to myself! I recommend Bay House to families, a date night or even a solo dinner at the bar! They have something for everyone!

2022-01-24We came for a small birthday dinner and had a blast. Super conveniently located across from the hotel we were staying at. The drinks, food, atmosphere, and staff were lovely. Our servers, Amber and Ceci, were so personable and fun and John, the owner, popped by for a visit too. Everyone was great and the dinner was just what we were looking for: upscale but not uppity. I got the sirloin with the cognac pepper cream sauce (pictured). It was delicious and the boursin potato croquettes were spot on. Go!

2022-01-21Beautiful atmosphere and decor. I felt like I was out of town in a big city, fancy restaurant... But with a very casual hometown feel. The staff was friendly, inviting, and attentive. The owner even stopped by our table to make sure our experience was up to his standard (it was)I love treating myself to oysters when I travel to the ocean. Having an oyster bar with fresh oysters in Erie, PA, is a game changer for me! There were a variety of West coast and east coast oyster varieties to choose from. If you consider yourself an oyster aficionado, youll love the subtleties in the flavor profiles of the oysters. The main entrees were served fresh, accurate, and full of flavor. The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer any questions we had.John Russell Brewing beer was on tap. The beer was perfect! This place is a great addition to the Erie dining scene.Check it out!

2022-04-03We have been to Bay House twice and both meals have been great. It’s a good location with an amazing view. We appreciate that the owners took the time and had the pride to focus on the decor. This can’t be said about many places. The oysters are delicious, as are the salads, soups, and lamb chops. Erie needs more places like this, where you can go out for a great meal at a nice restaurant and have good service.

2022-07-02We did not like the table they sat us at. They put us upstairs in a packed small room up against a wall and right next to a very, very loud table of 9 young ladies, in their 20s. Almost had to scream at my wife to carry on a conversation, it didnt bother me as much as it wife. I had a dozen oysters as an appetizer and they were very good! My wife had the crab cakes and she did she liked them. For my main I had the chicken Marquette which I enjoyed very much. Next time I make a reservation I will ask for a seat at the oyster bar! Good and our server caryanne, were great!

2022-06-19Overall the food was good, but the Oyster Bar selection and staff exceeded my expectations by far! Very excited to come back and see the varieties of oysters. Every oyster I ate was truly a culinary delight. Shout out to Josh, for taking the time to teach me about oysters and how to best enjoy them.

2022-02-13Good food BUT. Lamb belly on their menu AND the online menu was $26 however they upcharged it to $42 without telling us. When we asked about it the manager said it was a product change and higher quality, I don’t think any change of lamb is worth a nearly $20 up charge. Manager offered to split a dessert, not worth $16, and we basically had to pry the cost difference from them. Also note that we were referred here by our friends who got the same meals and they just realized they were over charged too. Insane.
