My dining experiences from dine-in, takeout, or delivered orders, to venue for my daughters 1st Birthday party, have all been nothing but satisfactory. For the Birthday party management helped plan within a budget. Also was polite, accommodating, professional, and was easy going the whole time. I would recommend anyone and everyone without hesitation. Easily 5 Stars
Getting 3 stars because service was really good. Food was the epitome of boring. Got a pretty pricey steak and it came out dryer than a desert. Also was served a beer that had passed its “best by” date. I guess when this is the only option you have in town it could seem great but I don’t live here.
Original building was a Carnegie library. Make sure to ask about the history. Wait staff complies with covid safety measures and were very pleasant. We were seated and given time to check out the menu. We ordered surf and turf, salad and salted Carmel appletini. Steaks cooked just right at medium, shrimps grilled, salad fresh and soft rolls. Our server was super excellent, attentive and treated us well. Bartender was a delight and made great drinks. Food was very good at decent prices.
Honestly the people were great. Nice, good conversation and nice atmosphere. Very cool old restaurant.Food left a little to be desired. Burger was small for $10 and ok. Reminds my husband of the small restaurant that is the only one in town that doesnt have to do better. Frenchfies were straight from Walmart frozen food section.Beef on weck was ok but didnt realize the heat of the sandwich Determined the doneness of the meet. Chewy little soggy. Coleslaw was good. They nailed the lemon water though, was great.
Best roast beef dinner of my life. No grizzle or fat. Tender enough to cut with a steak knife. Great tossed salad spring mix with hard boiled egg and dreamy creamy thick perfectly seasoned ranch. Nicely done wings. Great Delmonico on special. Perfect cheesey gooey stuffed mushrooms.
The ambiance is impeccably beautiful. This place is awesome. I ordered a 14oz Prime Rib and I couldn’t finish it but I tried my best. Do yourself a favor if you’re in Bradford, come here for a delicious dinner... I will!!8/23/19 I’m back for round 2! Loved the prime rib and the cheesecake! Stop by when you’re in town. I do!!
Dined at Beefeaters Restaurant on Friday. I ordered their “Beefeaters Surf & Turf” which included 4 large shrimp over a bed of seasoned rice, a strip steak, and baked potato, all cooked to perfection. Second dish at the table was a thick slice of Prime Rib, Queen serving size, baked potato and salad. Wait staff was pleasant & efficient. Dinners both came with a side salad and rolls. Restaurant is located in a restored Carnegie Library located in Bradford’s National Historic District. Highly recommend you give this restaurant a try-along with their “Beefeaters Surf & Turf”!!
To start with, the building is beautiful. Its an old library, so it has a very interesting look. Our server was was fantastic, super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The burger was nice and thick, cooked perfectly. Beef stroganoff was fantastic. The angel hair was good, the sauce just a touch a sweet, but I still enjoyed it.Overall a wonderful place for dinner.
Very disappointed. After reading their wonderful menu on their webpage, we made reservations for News Years Eve. Unfortunately, after arriving we were told the majority of their menu was not available. Only a few entrée choices and all came with asparagus and no substitutions. The choices were not as appealing as we would hope. Beautiful building, wonderful wait staff.
Second time in Bradford and my second time in Beefeaters. I really like the historic building and the soft mellow mood inside. Food was really good as it was last time. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the slightly over cooked steak I ordered. Still not a bad steak and not a bad price. Ill come back again.
Absolutely fantastic food, we ordered the surf and turf, and NY strip. Cooked perfectly, the Coleslaw was the absolute best Ive ever had and the vegetable beef was outstanding. 150% would highly recommend this establishment for a perfect upscale dining experience. The building was gorgeous as well.
Ate here 2 years ago, for some reason my review did not get entered then.1. The prime rib was salty, baked potato was cold, and salad wasnt anywhere near fresh... Salisbury steak was on par with a frozen Banquet TV microwave dinner!2. Waited almost 30 minutes to be seated near the end of their open hours, waited longer than necessary for order to be taken, my pet peeve- waited on drink refills, then waited for check, and again for someone to pay...3. The place was COLD and dark, usually dark restaurants are masking a lot with this arrangement, but the food and service were bad enough on their own.I normally wouldnt do this, but I am actually planning on returning, but under different circumstances, maybe early afternoon on a Friday, with reservations...And I will definitely re-review!
Was horrible.right from the start to the finish waitress didn’t have a clue what she was doing had like 4 people bringing us different things we ordered. Food was TERRIBLE the only thing good was the lobster tail, everyone recommended this restaurant and we always wanted to go. We will never go again have to give 1 star but not worth even 1 star
After a long day of traveling, my family and I arrived here 1 hour before closing. Elizabeth our hostess/server/bartender was nothing short of AMAZING! Not once were we rushed. The food was top notched. Something I did not expect from a small town restaurant. Prices were more than fair. The local hospitality was second to none. Even after their closing time we were offered opportunity for dessert. A true gem to the area.
Havnt been here in quite awile but I wish it were a little closer to me.The food was fantastic as I last remembered it. You cant go wrong ordering the beef at a place called Beefeaters. I had the beef on weck, med rare & it was perfect.Had the German potato salad (hot) & the cole slaw & it was great. Started off with a cup of the loaded baked potato soup & it was great as well. Our server took care of our table of 8 quickly & effectively. Hope I can get back sooner next time
We ordered delivery for my parents anniversary. The Chicken parm and french onion soup were okay, nothing special... The sauce on the chicken was very, very bitter - like it was tomato sauce from the can. but it didnt feel like a complete waste of money. The containers were crushed and the soup was spilling when it arrived. The worst part was my dads prime rib. When you pay 30+ dollars for a piece of meat you want to eat it and enjoy it. He couldnt even finish it. He tried offering some to our dog, the dog wouldnt touch it. He couldnt chew it it was so tough. A steak knife wouldnt cut it so I got our big cutco carving knife... that BARELY cut. An absolute waste of money. Will not be ordering from there again.
The atmosphere makes this place! My fiance and I went here for the first time on my birthday and it was a great experience. They had the most delicious apple pie martini. Service was great. Atmosphere is amazing. I do wish my chicken fettuccine alfredo had more flavor but it was still good!
Our friends decided to try something different for a couples night out, and I’m glad we chose Beefeaters. Although the restaurant looked rather busy, we were promptly seated. Our server was friendly, and explained the new fall signature drink menu thoroughly with our table when we asked about specialty cocktails. With that being said, I enjoyed my Appletini. It was a fun fall twist on a traditional martini. The server recommended the prime rib, and it was absolutely amazing. It was one of the best I have ever had, and their hot German potato salad was to die for! I would highly recommend coming here as the service was great, the food was amazing, and overall it was a great atmosphere for a friend’s night out. We will definitely be back soon!
A wonderful accidental discovery! Everyone was SO helpful! Local brews on tap, best steak Ive had in YEARS!!! A little pricey but DEFINITELY worth every cent! Recommend trying the Devil on Horseback appetizer (prime rib bites wrapped in bacon and smothered in a scrumptious hot sauce) its to die for! If you like your steak under medium the 16 oz strip is your best choice (even still tender reheated for lunch the next day)Our server Jessica was just the absolute best and so patient! Come in comfy clothes, youll still take half home after gorging yourself on their amazing cuisine!
Mothers day brunch was so delicious, not one single complaint! Everything was kept fresh! With the greatest selections...my favorite was the little class casinos...so tasty...and I believe the ice cream was actually homemade? Everyone loved the mac and cheese and stuffed chicken. Squash ravioli..OMG YUM.So mamy things ALL WAS GREAT!!
Very disappointed. Aside from the service being quite bad, the food was borderline terrible. I got the New York strip steak and ordered it medium rare. It came out just shy of well done and lacked flavor. It was ridiculously tough and just not good. Our server never really came to see how the food was so we pretty much just wasted $70 on two steaks, both significantly over cooked, tasteless, and tough and some mediocre soup. Wouldn’t recommend.
Our expectations of Beefeaters was HORRIBLE! The staff was absolutely rude. The food was very Disgusting. Called to talk to owner got a different person and she hung up on me. The restaurant doesn’t take care of their customers. On a scale of 1-10 I would give them a -10.
Ambience is good, service is fair. Table was dirty and had to be cleaned, my napkin had cat hair on it. Ordered stuffed haddock with seafood stuffing and topped with cheddar. Stuffing is chucks of slimy bread with that cheap seafood flavored fish stuff. Baked potato was warm not hot and our “warm” rolls were cold. His dinner was scallops with lemon caper pasta. He got 5 scallops, lots of capers and lots of sauce. His was okay but a touch too lemon. Had one coffee, one ice water. Cost 45.74. Value = Fair to poor
We went after a graduation and they did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, served hot and with a smile just the way I like it!! I had the prime rib and it was fantastic!! We arrived about 1/2 hour early and we were promptly seated. We never felt rushed and the waitresses all worked together. Will definitely go back.
Very disappointed with our order tonight spent almost $75 on the whole order waited 45 mins to get our order. The food tasted terrible, could only taste the cream cheese in their new spinach and artichoke dip, bread was burnt on one side and stale, ordered the seafood platter, the crab cake was mushy and bland, the fish was hard and dry, stuffed mushrooms tasted old and rotten, the French onion soup was cold, rice had no flavor, my childs grilled cheese was burnt. Not worth what we paid and wont be ordering from here again.
Glad we stopped here. Had a great appetizer, devil on horseback I believe- you gotta try them! Definitely decent menu for everyones budget, although the chopped sirloin did seem a tad overcooked. Otherwise the beef was flavorful and tender. Ordered gravy on side didnt happen and one of my sides was forgotten but quickly remedied upon request. Very sweet waitress and wonderful ambience. Drinks were excellent with several seasonal selections. We also tried some dessert we havent tried yet but it looks perfect and they had several wonderful homemade options. Would definitely come back here again.
The service and building were great. Food was less than great. Kids chicken fingers were normal, hamburger was cooked good, steak tips could have had more flavor and the turkey dinner was lacking freshness. I have never had frozen turkey but I think that is what I just ate. It was rubbery. The gravy was definitely not homemade either.
Had high expectations based on reviews, menu choices and atmosphere. Made reservations for 7 PM and didnt get seated for 30 minutes after our reserved time. From the time we were seated, we felt we were being rushed through. Waitresses were distant and scattered. Our appetizers came and they never gave us any silverware or napkins, we had to ask for them. We ordered the filet with lobster tails added on. Food came, filet was cooked medium rare like we asked, but it definitely was not filet. Was too tough and chewy for the doneness we asked for. Lobster tails never came out and when we asked about them, the waitress said she didnt put us in for those. Again, every point of interaction with the waitress, made us feel rushed through dinner.Maybe it was because it was Saturday evening, an off night, or some other reason, but I wouldnt go back. $100 dollar dinner that wasnt worth it... Fake filet, rushed service, poor service, incomplete order.Hopefully youll have better luck than we did.
Delicious burgers! Portions were generous, and the home made fries were absolutely top-notch. The building is an old library and it still looks and feels like one. The service was prompt and attentive. We found this place by accident, but next time we are through this area we will go out of our way to enjoy this spot again.
The roast beef is very cheap tasting and resembles lunch meat. Not worth the expensive price. Many, many other down falls to this restaurant since new owners took over a couple years ago. Very obvious they take the cheap way out whenever possible, but still sell at an expensive price. Sad they had to ruin (what used to be) such a good place to eat! Don’t waste your money!
Very cool place, even had a cute train that goes around. However, set aside a good two hours for eating. Service is excruciatingly slow and not the greatest. We waited a very long time for both appetizers and lunch, which was puzzling since it was just us at the restaurant. The waitress also didnt check on us very often to see if we needed refills or more rolls. When the food did come, it was very good. I dont know if it actually was that good or we were just that hungry. I should warn everyone though that the veggie stir fry is alright. I expected lots of veggies only to be disappointed that it was only mushrooms (not my favorite), onions, and some broccoli. My fault for not asking though and dont pay the extra four bucks for shrimp. Only got 4 jumbo shrimp. Other than that, the food does have really good flavors.
If you love a good meal, this is definitely a restaurant to visit! The homemade rolls are perfectly baked and a great start to this dining experience. Soups and salads are fresh (and we were there after 8 pm). Every meal that we ordered came out perfectly cooked to order and was absolutely delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Just a warning... They take your name and number for contact tracing before the seat you. However, apart from the potential of having my rights violated, the food was very good. The service was also very good. The atmosphere was kind of neat as it was decorated with midevil motif. The music they had playing was not my favorite but to each their own. I think it would be really cool if they would have music playing from the midevil era.
Been coming to this place from a child. I was there this weekend and ordered almost a 30 dollar steak plus over 20 bucks in lobster and after a lengthy wait I received my meal and it was barely warm I ordered medium rare. I told the waitress she said shed put it back in and warm it up...now its not medium rare. Lobster was cold but they didnt do anything about it I never received my bake potato I ordered. Spoke with manager. He removed steak from my check. However I was hugely disappointed with the whole visit...this place most generally is awesome or atleast was over the years. What is going on? By the time I got my steak back my party of 4 was done with thier meals....very unhappy think the company should do something to get my business again. I never complain yet this was unacceptable!!!!
Best Beef on Kimmelwick ever. Better than anything in Buffalo. All their food is excellent, large quantities, and cheap for the quantity and quality .Extremely courteous. Professional and attentive staff and lovely surroundings.A gem of a restaurant in a city of faded glory.
Dress shirt and tie if you have one. High end. Service good, wait staff nice, clean, great decor, Menu has Prime Rib, steaks, burgers, lobster tails and cocktails.Tried steaks-good, burgers -good, pumpkin pie ala mode with whipped cream. Pie was fresh crust was quality.Quality food, Quality service, Quality decor, worth the high end price.
Went in for a late lunch while visiting the area with my famy. My first time there. It was my other family members second time. The atmosphere is nice as were the waitresses/servers.I had the Porterhouse special. It came with a mushroom sauce. The service was excellent but the steak came out less than warm. The sauce on top I scraped off because it was not hot either. I would go back but will not waste $35.00 on a mediocre warm fatty steak. The appetizer we had came out hot and delicious but 2 of our entrees did not. I also found out the same happened the first time my other family members stopped in. We did not complain because we did not have the time to wait.In conclusion, Very nice atmosphere and people. High entree prices but there are many foods to fit most peoples budget. Appetizers tasted great . Entrees so so in flavor.
Had the hot roast beef sandwich with gravy over it and gravy over the fries. The beef was good, the gravy was tasty and the fries were crispy. The service was very good and the servers were very friendly. The atmosphere was upscale but you dont need to dress up. A nice variety on the menu.
I have eaten here twice in the past few years. The first visit was fantastic. The most recent was disappointing. My meal came cold with the steak well done not the medium rare I had ordered. The server replaced the steak portion of the meal but the rest was colder by then and not appealing. No apology and no reduction in the cost. 100 dollars for two of us. Not an inexpensive meal. If not for my previous visit this would be a one star review.
We were very disappointed in the food here.I ordered the ribeye and it was honestly the worst Ive ever had and when I told the waitress about it she said she was sorry and would remove it from the bill .I only ate half of it. And then she came back and said that she couldnt remove it but offered a free dessert and I refused it. For 3 of us it came to 93 $ and honestly it was worth 30 tops.they brought our food and didnt even give us silverware. I would definitely not recommend beefeaters to anyone and will not go back.
Another great Bradford eatery...along with Kabobs at the Options House these two restaurants ooze charm and history. Nice upscale menu options with lots of choices outside of beef. I had the lamb which was 2 huge 3-4 bone racks and potatoes salad, side. Very tender. Husband had sirloin tips which were good but had too much sauce and a bit salty. Attentive friendly staff but can get busy and short handed at times so prep for a little wait during the meal. They lacked bus staff when we were there so lots of tables with service still sitting. Staff that were there were doing the best they could, really hustling at peak time. All together a great sit down and relax place. Enjoy!
This was by far the best place i have ever eaten at. We got the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly, juicy, and the most tender ever. It was that flavorful you didnt need steak sauce. I mean the BEST steak i ever ate. You cant beat it. You barely had to chew it. The salad was fresh. The baked potatoes skin fell off and it was great. We got reeses peanutbutter pie and chocolate mousse. Fantastic. Theyre homemade and so fluffy/soft. The waitresses were so kind and polite. Theyre the sweetest!! I absolutely loved Beefeaters! I even loved the inside of the restaurant. It was a library prior i believe and i loved the historic look to it! Its an older but classy style. Ugh i love all of it!!
We make trips out of our way to go to beefeaters drive an hour for it the salads are always great everything is always fresh tasting there was only 1 time the food was alright but normally they are perfect been there like 6-7 times found it on accident while we were in Bradford at the dmv and I wanted a steak for dinner we weren’t disappointed we will definitely be back more
I have been there many times and never disappointed. The food is awesome!!! It is one of the best places to eat in the area. Beautiful building and atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly and professional. Last year, we had a group of 80 there for a class reunion and there was not a single complaint about anything the entire evening,. A+++++
It was my first time visiting Bradford and Im glad I had the opportunity to eat here. Not only was my food prepared above expectation, the staff was wonderful and the ambiance of this historic location was absolutely delightful. You have to visit the website and read up. Our waitress, Jess, was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and a pleasure to have at the table. The chef and kitchen staff are on their game as well. Iam one of those picky people when I order, you know the kind that embarrasses you by asking for extras and can never just accept whats on the menu. They never batted an eye and satisfied my every whim. Even the Bread Girl melted butter especially for me and went above and beyond for my cucumber fetish. If you have the opportunity to be graced by this establishment you will leave full.... Full of great food, a wonderful memory, and a feeling of wanting to come back. Thank you Beefeaters for an evening well spent.
For the price I paid for dinner with my family, i was expecting a lot better food. The prime rib was overcooked and tough, the steak ordered medium rare was well done and the veggies looked like they were dumped out of a can and brought to the table.....cold I might add. I had a decent meal there 2 years ago and since then i have given them 5 chances and each time it has been a disappointment. This last time was the worse and I do not believe I will be back. Chef needs some serious culinary training.
We had a family dinner At beefeaters. The place is a Charming old library restored to a restaurant. I had the prime rib and its one of the better Prime ribs Ive had in many years. Everybody at the table raved about how good their food was. I know that from now on I will be back there many times. If you like beef I would recommend this place. The other food on the menu was great too.
Service was terrible! My husband and I were seated within minutes of arriving, but no one checked on us or even took a drink order for over 30 minutes. My husband finally got up and talked to the person who seated us and he got a drink for free to make up for our wait. The food was good, but not spectacular. We waited 10-15 minutes after we were done before they brought our check and then had to wait again to make our payment. The restaurant did not seem to be overly busy to account for our long waits and lack of attention.
First time there and it was a wonderful experience! Food was excellent, service was top notch, and atmosphere was enjoyable. Even on a busy day like the day I was there the service was quick and reliable. My server, Tessa, was extremely friendly and welcoming. Even the girl who brought out our food was helpful and friendly. If my memory serves me correctly her name was Danielle. I highly recommend The Beefeaters for a 5 Star experience!
I ordered the Seafood Platter. The haddock was nicely cooked but had no seasoning, the spinach side it came with tasted like dirt smothered in butter, the crab cake was literal mush and tasted sour, the seafood stuffed mushrooms had canned carrots in them and the bottom was a slime consistency, the shrimp was okay, and lastly the lobster tasted rancid. The only thing I can compare it to is vinegar and ammonia. Save your money and go to literally anywhere else in Bradford.
Had dinner while working in Bradford and while the inside is definitely eclectic, the food was far from the same! Maybe I didnt look the part but our waitress never mentioned the specials, just came over and sat there and stared at us expecting us to tell her what we wanted. I noticed another table where the guys were having a few drinks she was much more outgoing in letting them know the daily specials and helping them out. The salad was small, the dressing was bland and the rolls were cold. I went with the Haddock Au gratin which was not Au gratin, it was nothing but butter and cheese on top of the fish. This is not Au gratin! The seafood stuffing which was house made was nothing more then imitation crab meat.. Im sure the steaks are better if youre willing to spend 29.00 on a 16oz delmomico. I was not pleased and will not go back.
First time this Sonoran desert dweller had Beef on Weck and oh my was it delicious! Perfect combination of tender tasty beef on a salt and caraway seasoned roll, added a smear of horseradish for a very tasty lunch. Had mine with a side of baked beans and my wife had the hot german potato salad (I had side order envy) Good service, great ambiance of a former library.
Sadly I have to update my review to the negative. The last few times weve come here the beef has been sub-par. Its literally cold to the touch, not even lukewarm but cold. Was even told by staff that this was normal but Ive never encountered this before at any other beef houses. Sadly, we will not be returning for beef but possibly for their other food which is actually very good. The house dressing is amazing, you must try it. I also suggest the home made baked beans, they were wonderful. Service was pleasant but I think they are preparing their beef far ahead of time and not keeping it warm, I just dont understand whats going on at a once fine restaurant.
Awesome! Food was great, service was prompt and very sociable. Food was ready for a table of 4 at the same time and less than fifteen minute wait. Decor is interesting and educational. Overall excellent experiance:) I live an hour away in New York and I will be coming back, just to come here again;)
Very expensive, you dont get much food for your money. The hamburgers were terrible and tasteless; They only take reservations if you have a party of 8+ people or more. I cant remember. So we couldnt make a reservation for a group of 5 for prom night. Thanks a lot for nothing Beefeaters..If I can overlook all those things, its not too bad.The bathrooms have always been clean. The waiting time for food is a little while but the food is good.
Yes, its a bit pricey. But, as someone who is extremely picky when it comes to restaurant food, it was amazing! My husband and I ate here for our 5 year anniversary. Both streaks were cooked perfectly and tasted fabulous. Which is saying a lot because the delmonico streaks are the size of a freaking dinner plate and hubby likes his well - well done. It was still melt in your mouth tender and juicy. My only complaint is that we got strawberry cheese cake to go, and it was an absolute mess. Its a good thing our hotel room isnt far because it soaked through the paper bag.
Spent the evening here with my wife and couldn’t have asked for a better meal! The food was delicious and our every need was met. The service was just as good if not better than the food! We were waited on by Tessa and another lady, Danielle, brought us our food and assisted with any request we may have had. I highly recommend The Beefeaters Restaurant for a lovely night out in a unique and pleasant setting!
Best prime rib Ive ever had. Got the queen size medium cook which i believe is 14oz of pure beef bliss. I felt as if I had died and gone to heaven. Add mushrooms and mashed poataoes and gravy and you get an awesome stick to your ribs meal. Dont forget to use the fresh grated horseradish that isnt melt your sinus but has great flavor!
This is a place out of Kitchen Nightmares. Lovely historic setting and caring wait staff, however the food just wasnt good. I was apprehensive about ordering any of their pricier items on their menu so I settled for their hamburger (like, how hard is it to screw up a burger?).Burger was tasteless and had the consistency of grilled cat food formed into a puck. Wait staff apologized and tried to make it right by offering a free dessert to go. Unfortunately, that wasnt good either. Friend got the chicken alfredo, was also tasteless as well. Im baffled how this place is rated above 4 stars. Food is one star, but the wait staff bumped it up to a two.
This place was amazing. Took a weekend trip on the motorcycle and stayed in Bradford. Friend mentioned this place and we were totally amazed by the experience. Hospitality was amazing, food was awesome, and the place is relaxing. Even went the extra step and sang Happy Birthday to my lovely wife!
Great service and delicious food! Roast beef dinner and black and blue steak are among my favorites. Beef on weck is a local favorite as well and a must try! Love the live music on Thursday nights! Clean and beautiful restaurant makes for a great experience.Visited again the other night, was absolutely spectacular!
They have a wide range of menu choices at a wide range of prices. If you cant find something to match your taste and budget here, the problem is with you and not the menu. However, we ate here twice in a week and while the quality of the food was very good both times, we had two very different experiences in terms of service. The first time it took forEVER to get seated and even longer to get food with a clueless server who seemed to know nothing but how to apologize. Two days later we arrived about an hour later in the day, walked right in and got a server named Carla who was one of the best servers Ive had anywhere. She really knows her stuff and was on top of everything for everybody.
Exceptional food and drinks served in the nostalgic atmosphere of an old Carnegie library. There are diverse menu choices that are all delicious. However, the freshly sliced beef from the Beef Bar is a main attraction. The desserts are worth the calories if you ever have room and the house salad dressing is worthy of trying. We have had romantic alone time or large family gatherings here. Beefeaters is well worth checking out. The four stars is due to area pricing and our rolls being tough on this last visit (like they were warmed too long in a microwave).
Nice Old building could be a nice place. The only thing bringing it down is the food quality and horrible cooks at this place. For price I expected a whole lot better food and quality! Salmon tasted old fishy and not cooked properly. The chicken parmesan no flavor and seemed from freezer prepped meal
Place , need to be clean n bring up to a more modern style is dark. N wall papers is horrible. Food part steak was cook perfect just wish that the cook remember salt n peper. Vegetables omg horrible very hard n the potatoes wedges were super dry like it was reheated in the microwave too many times. The staff was great, very friendly . The price was not worth it way too much for what we had horrible.food. way too expensive if u paid 34.95 for the cowboy steak was not worth it at all we paid the bill n left we were on vacation n didnt want to ruin my trip but never again McDonalds was way better after we went to McDonalds Donald n have something to eat.95
I used to eat here at least 2-3 times per week, but after last night I will not be back. The food and service was just awful, especially from the manager. I ordered the prime rib rare and it came out beyond well done (no pink at all and completely dried out). They took the prime rib back and it took them about 30 minutes to figure out what to do. Their solution was to give me a delmonico steak that was completely burnt on one side and raw on the other. Burnt to the point that the smell made me sick. The end result was that I didnt get any dinner, but since the steak came with soup they made sure to charge for that separately. The tables bill was still $150.Stay way from this place!
Interesting historic building but truly unfortunate food and service issues. After about four visits I will not return unless invited by someone else. Wait staff interrupts conversations and doesnt excuse themselves. Gluey mashed potatoes that look days old and are seldom warm. Tiny, pointless salads that come with most meals. Pacing of courses is nonexistent. Expect to be inundated with entrees before youve gotten through your soup. Rolls arrive after the salad, if youre lucky. Meats are decent. Has a great deal of potential but sadly always misses the mark. Energy is overall one of malaise as though the entire staff were there under duress.
Came in for dinner and my son ordered a filet medium rare. When the food came it was brought out well done, so we sent it back. When they brought a new steak out it was prime rib so we then sent that one back. Took 3 times to get it right and by this time everyone else’s was done eating. I was charged full price for a meal my son had to eat by himself that was incorrect multiple times.... All in all that place went downhill. Will not return
Food was great. But we waited an hour for our food and an hour and a half for our bill. They forgot to bring soup that we ordered and dressings were asked for but forgotten. Kids were running all over the place and were screaming. I was not expecting this even when we got reservations. Maybe it wasnt a good night...but I wouldnt recommend for a quiet and speedy meal.
Really enjoyed the live music downstairs! The All You Can Eat seafood and prime rib special was amazing! I was surprised the seafood was as good as the prime rib!! I tried a house speciality drink, and that was wonderful as well. Service was prompt and friendly! 5 stars all around!
I ordered the combo platter for my family of 5 and it was only enough for everyone to get a mushroom and everything else we had to cut up for everyone to get some. I ordered a chicken Cesar salad. Wife ordered filet mignon. The filet was very good. Her salad and baked potato were not. Her salad had two croutons and two chick peas. Her potato tasted like it wasnt washed. My salad was far from good. The chicken was fatty and had an off color, almost grey. My lettuce was wilted in several spots. So my experience has been the beef is good but nothing else was. I used to go here when I was a kid and the food was always top notch.
This place was really neat! Its in an old library that has been converted to a nice casual restaurant. The roast beef (Beef...eaters) was probably the best Ive had. Nice selection of drafts and bottle beers too. Very pleasant, very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!
Beefeaters is really a unique place in Bradford. Their food is fantastic and the beef bar is very unique. Missed out on 5 stars because their portions have shrunk over time. I highly recommend any type of beef entree but the haddock augratin is a good beef alternative.
Best place to eat in Bradford but they recently took the one vegan entre off the menu (rice with mixed veggies... It was delicious) and the size of their salads shrunk to less than half the size they used to be. Great place for meat and fish eaters but if you are vegan/vegetarian and dont eat pasta like me, go next door to slice of the 80s and get an enormous salad for a fraction of the price.
Beefeaters has some of the best food in town. They make their own ranch so the salads are amazing. This restaurant used to be an old library, so when you walk in. Its like walking back in time for an amazing dining experience. The beef bar is also great. I highly recommend this restaurant!
First time visit! Usually go to the Beef and Barrel in Olean. This place is prettier, bigger with old time charm and huge ceilings! The beef on wick sand which is bigger and beefier than the Beef and Barrel, along with better prices! Nice experience! Only recommendation would be update bathrooms!
My husband and I fell in love with historical Bradford when we ate at beefeaters! Our server Tessa was amazing and her partner Danielle recommended the prime rib in which my husband and I both got! It was by far the best prime rib we have ever ate! They have the best horseradish around! To bad we are all the way from upstate NY will definitely be returning when in town!!! Highly recommended!!
Beefeaters used to be excellent, but not so much anymore. Our Waitress never provided a basket of rolls, which is the first thing you usually get when seated. I had to ask her for rolls when she finally checked on us nearly 3/4 through our meal and only gave us one roll each. I ordered the traditional roast beef sandwich and it arrived lukewarm like it had sat for 10 minutes. My Wife always ordered their vegetable lasagna, but for some puzzling reason theyve taken it off their menu, so she was left ordering a salad. They always seem to pack the people in and I dont know how. Service is very slow and the beef is nothing like it used to be. $25 for a NY Strip might work in NYC, but cmon..this is Bradford. We wont be back.
Went for dinner while on a business trip. Two people in our party had been there before and spoke highly of the restaurant, so I was eager to see the old library and try the food. One person ordered Mahi Mahi and it was delicious, not over seasoned or over cooked. I had the special of liver and onions, havent had liver and onions for years, and they cooked it just right, included broth to keep it moist. The garlic mashed potatoes were just ok, couldnt taste the garlic. They make their own bread products and the rolls were delicious! When we ordered dessert, we were amazed at the size of the ice cream puff - it would feed 3 people, but no one wanted to share with me as they all got their own dessert - strawberry shortcake and carrot cake. They reported their desserts were good. I was truly impressed with the building and how carefully the library was changed into a restaurant while keeping much of the old architecture. Theres a lot of history on the walls and tables in the form of framed old newspaper clippings - fascinating. I will definitely go again, want to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Our waitress was superb, and engaged in conversation with each visit to our table. I was disappointed that I couldnt get a mojito from the bar, but that drink doesnt seem to be popular here in the north west area of PA.
Great service, but food underwhelming. I was traveling through someone recommended as I asked for a local place. Had the roast beef on Kulwick bun. Roast beef was dry and cold because the bun soaked up the juice so the homemade bun was soggy. Ordered the coconut cream pie thought it was odd the server asked if I wanted whipped cream? I said no got the pie it had a little coconut sprinkled on the top and it was thick as mortar and tasted like peanut butter. Ok if you want peanut butter pie with coconut and and sesame seeds.Probably shouldve ordered a steak. Just my experience on one visit.
Truly one of the gems of downtown Bradford! Not only are the Beefeaters lunch and dinner specials always inventive and new, but enjoying them in such a historically rich atmosphere just adds to the experience. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting the area!!!
My husband ordered chopped sirlon and it was literally two hamburger patties on mashed potatoes. My haddock was super salty and my mashed potatoes were brown and grey I didnt even eat them. The food has gone down hill since the new owner took over will not be visiting again.
We complained about all of our food being cold, there was 6 of us. My baked potatoe wasnt even warm enough to melt the butter, steak plates werent even hot. We ordered deserts took forever to get, server explains they ran out of hot fudge and they had to run next door to get it, which the hot fudge was practally frozen when served.Server spoke to the manager Manger said we ate all our food so nothing they could do about it. They brought us 3 to go boxes one for my chicken which was miss a few bites and one for each of the guys that ate about half of their steaks. So NO we didnt eat it all. The discount of the night $2.67 off of one of the deserts.
Popular local restaurant in a historic building (former Carnegie library). Lunch, dinner, and a full bar is available, but the beef bar helps this restaurant earn its namesake. Steaks, prime rib, roast are all top notch, but the other menu items are not lacking either. There is an attached bar and venue downstairs called the afterwards cafe that hosts live music on Thursday nights and other special or private events.
Very cool building and serviçe was ???? OK. But for what you got in food that was cold or left under the hot plate area was dryer out. I wasnt impressed. The french roast beef sandwich I got was OK but very time you dipped it in the sauce the bread got soggy and fell apart. It was the wrong type of bread services with the sandwich. To soft needed to be a harder type bread as stated in description. I wasnt to impressed with this place for being an out of towner. Maybe try to 80s diner just down the road.
Thought I wrote a review before but maybe it was deleted... so each time I have a bad meal, which really not looking forward to giving BE anymore chances I will write about it. 2 meals ago I got literally turkey scraps from the what I thought would be carved turkey, the wrong dessert and the german potatoes had to be from a can, seriously bad! My most recent order. Beef on weck was okay, not as good as their competitors in the town over. Salad, was great but I know they source lettuce local, makes sense. Got a side bun, literally stale!!! Each time I go there something happens so, will be adding on to this Im sure.
The first 2 visits I had were amazing- knowledgeable waitress and yummy food (chicken cesar salad), my last trip there a week ago was a bit dissapointing. Their grilled romaine ceasar salad is no where close to a standard one, hope they consider going back! Overall, the atmospere is nice and the library is something you should see if you visit Bradford.
Expensive and fancy. I went for a job interview and was told I had a job but, they never called to tell me where they were going to have me work. The guy said Im not sure where Im gonna put you yet and when Id call he didnt have no idea but that I had a job there. Truth of matter its been 5 months since and I figured after the first 2 weeks I didnt have the job.

2022-05-14Nice experience prime rib any day is a winner. Got the super prime and it was 3 meals! Loved it.Baked onion soup was yummy. However my wife said the filet mignon was not very flavorful. Also Im 99% sure the German potato salad is from the can I get at the supermarketThe chairs seemed hard and it was difficult to think of anything else after a while because it hurt so much.I left happy, full and a sore butt and had prime rib for the next 2 days. I will be back and give 4 stars because they serve prime rib every day!

2022-03-13Great atmosphere, friendly staff and we very happy with all food and drinks ordered. Rack of lamb was amazing, so tender and flavorful. I live in TX but would certainly come here again if Im ever in the area.

2022-06-06Service is exceptional, but although the food has improved, portion size (raspberry chicken)seems too small for the plate. Would be nice to add another vegetable or starch to the plate. The beef dishes at my table got rave reviews from my fellow diners.I love the fact this restaurant has kept some of the original library look and items, but the items lose perspective in the large dining areas.

2022-02-15Lovely Valentines Day dinner with the family. Filet Oscar was great! Prime rib and strip steak cooked perfectly. The baked French onion soup was some of the best Ive had. It was a busy night, but service was wonderful! Will definitely return in the future!

2022-04-10Wife and I stopped in for an early supper 5:30pm. We both had the NY Steak special. It was excellent. The service was friendly and polite. We also got dessert to take home. We ate it in the car... ya that good!

2022-02-16The beef on weck was legit, super fresh beef carved nice and thin to order. Waitress was also great. Building is lovely but decorated like a funeral home circa 1995. Also wish they wouldnt burn scented candles in the restaurant, it makes it smell absolutely awful and detracts from the food which is actually quite good.

2022-06-22Stopped here for a quick stop and we had to do take out because we were in a hurry. Which is too bad because it was a beautiful building and worth seeing up close. The food was great. We got the Ruben with fries. Both were excellent. And no complaints about service even though it looked like only one girl was running the place.I look forward to coming back and next time lingering.

2021-12-24We went to Beefeaters to celebrate my wifes birthday. The service was excellent and the food was very good and served quickly. I had the surf & turf. The steak was done to my liking. Our desserts were also very good. This place should be on your must visit list if you are in the Bradford, PA area.

2022-05-06Been there before and was always happy. This was my first buffet there (Easter). The people were great and the food looked appetizing. Im sure a lot of time and effort went into preparing it which was wasted because it was all cold. With all the time theyve been in business youd think theyd have figured out how to keep a buffet warm. $150 wasted, will visit Yogis next time.

2022-02-13As far as staff they were excellent they did the job very well but the food was garbage it is sad that the fried appetizers were the best part of the meal. The roast beef with gravy was ice cold and when requested a new plate it wasnt it was thrown in a microwave heated up and brought back out with some extra gravy thrown on it the burger was ordered as cooked through and it was charred on both sides of burger I myself ordered a fettuccine with grilled chicken and Alfredo sauce the chicken was so so and the noodles were not cooked thoroughly had a dough taste my kids ordered chicken parmesan and also spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken couldnt even be cut it was very stiff. All and all I would not recommend this restaurant as far as food now the decor of the building and the staff was very nice NEW COOK NEEDED!!!!
