I have a cautionary tale to tell. I normally go to Bernville Auto Parts to do all my car maintenance and repairs. Yesterday I had to schedule at a different shop near my office in West Lawn for a routine PA Inspection. The new shop called me and told me I needed full brakes and calipers all the way around the vehicle and that the total cost would be almost $1700. I thought that sounded high so I googled it and it was supposed to be less. I called Harvey at Bernville Auto Parts and told him all it needed to be done. He said he could do it for $797.So, as uncomfortable as it was, I told the new shop that Im sorry I have to go over to my normal shop Bernville Auto Parts because its a lot cheaper.Harvey at Bernville Auto Parts just called me. It DID NOT NEED BRAKES AT ALL!!! This other shop was completely ripping me off!Now, Im not going to tell the name of the other shop here because we own a business and I may wind up with retaliation BUT I do want to give a HUGE HIGH FIVE AND THANK YOUSE! to the guys at Bernville Auto Parts for their Honesty and Integrity.They will get a half dozen Pretzels from Plum Creek farm today!

Been there often, Dale the owner will treat you like family and wastes no time getting you a part that might not be in stock. I need a fog light bulb for 98 Saturn, it was not in stock at 9am one weekday morning, Dale the owner had it in a few hours not next week.
Bought a car from.aprivate seller. The car, I found out a week later, had a shot engine bearing. Brought it to the guys at Bernville Auto. They found a used engine with very low miles. Did a great install for me and had it done all in the time frame that I had requested.I would most definately come back for any future work that I might need done. Thanks again guys!
Awesome with my exspirence, but take this as a warning. If you are on unemployment such as seasonal layoff (lawn maintenance ) dont think Dale will pay you under the table to work for him if your collecting UCC benefits. He may report you and its not good to get your butt into trouble for UCC fraud. So its been noted to me from a reliable source.
Dishonest, bad workmanship to the extent of not finishing safety work on a car so that it is very unsafe to drive. Bernville Auto sues customers who have complaints about workmanship instead of fixing what they did wrong.
Dale and Harvey provided superior service. I highly recommend using Bernville Auto Parts!

2022-02-02Wow, where to start. Their patience was outstanding. I have high anxiety and called way more than the average customer. Every time, they were extremely patient with me, and always had an answer to my questions.I essentially showed up randomly. I called Burnsville auto parts to make an appointment. Unfortunately, I did not realize that this is Bernville, and I showed up for my appointment the next day, they still squeezed me in.After the repairs were made and services complete, the bill was HALF of what I was expecting. I am elated with the service I received here. I will use them for the remainder of my contract in PA, and I recommend them to anyone and everyone in the area.

2021-09-22I have finally found an honest trustworthy businessman who operates an auto repair business. Dale Balthaser is upfront and won’t upsell you on service or parts. I always thought I had to go to the dealership for service, where I’ve had bad experiences with false information on services I didn’t need. I didn’t realize Bernville Auto Parts was also a service business. I now know it’s Bernville Auto Parts and Repair. And, it’s in my area of the county. Even if it weren’t, it’s worth the drive for quality honest service.

2020-08-11I had my rotors resurfaced today, they do excellent work, they take pride in what they do and it shows. This is my second visit, the first time I needed an oil filter for my BMW, they get you what you need and are always friendly.

2020-02-05Bottom line up front. I highly recommend Bernville auto parts and repair, great service and customer care.In the summer I had my wifes 2002 PT Cursers engine rebuilt and a custom paint job done while we lived in California. We got the car back the day before it was put on a truck and shipped across country. When we arrived here we noticed several oil leaks and contacted the California shop that did the work, their national warranty service recommended Bernville Auto Parts and Repair as we just moved to the Bernville area from California and did not know anyone I started to used the local Chrysler dealer but received a second recommendation for Bernville Auto Parts and Repair. We took the car to them explained the issue and the staff and mechanics want way beyond to explain each item and make sure we were happy. To took over a month to find all the little leaks but we are very happy with their work and will be a regular customer there in the future.

2020-10-10Honestly, its hard to find these kind of place anymore... but the fact that this place is still here is proof to what weve given up for a life of instant gratification!To begin, this place is super clean all the while everything is stated on signs of what and what is not to be expected. This alone takes a lot of effort.Second, they went ahead and cut my rotors (at reasonable price to bat) all while other shops in the Reading area were telling thats something that is no longer being done, wrong.They were nuetral and efficiant and all at a reasonable price.Will definitley being going here again.

2017-07-18The shop has a good selection of car parts and products for a family owned store. On the other hand their service tends to be expensive and not always doing the best job. Also they are a dealership and I have a feeling they dupe you. If you have a car that they want for resale they are going to undermine it during service so later when it becomes unusable theyll offer to buy it for almost nothing. Then they do a quick fix on it and resell it at almost triple what they got it for!
