While they were understaffed, service was great. The room was clean, we had fresh towels, the kids loved the pool before we checked out on a rainy morning, and the breakfast was good. We especially loved the waffles. The girl working the front desk was constantly cleaning the food area and refilling drinks. It was a very nice experience, and if we ever come through again, this will be our first choice to stay at.
This was honestly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. We payed $150 for one night and were very disappointed. Right off the bat the desk staff looked unenthused and took forever to check people in. We were provided no towels and when we asked for some we were told they were “in the dryer”. We provided our room number to have them delivered when ready... we never received any towels. We weren’t able to shower or even wipe our hands because of this. The room didn’t look like it was cleaned at all. Toiletries were opened and resealed. Kleenex was empty. There was hair on the bathroom floor and the bottom of the shower was dirty. Beds were old and uncomfortable. I’m guessing the sheets were not cleaned just based on the overall state of the room. The hallways were filthy and looked like leaky bags of trash were dragged across them. I’m usually not one to complain and best westerns in my experience have been reliable... but not this one. Breakfast was very poor as well. I would have paid about $50 for an experience like this. We were told at check out that they had a cleaning crew come in that essentially didn’t do their job. They said it’s hard to find staff during the pandemic, which is understandable, but there still needs to be accountability. If you don’t have the staff, don’t book as many rooms... and inspect them if it’s staff you are unfamiliar with. Honestly really unacceptable. They should have given refunds based on the state of things. We did not receive half the amenities to at we paid for.
Rooms were extremely dirty (like feces on the wall next to the toilet dirty). Switched rooms three times, one of which there was already a gentleman staying in. There were no towels in the room or bedding provided for the pullout bed. We were told it was in the washing machine and had to wait for it. Stains, Im hoping it wasnt just dirty, on bedding and towels. Food and drinks were left in the refrigerator from previous guests, open milk containers. Pool was full of dirt and debris. Person at the front desk was handling complaints, each time we had to go down, from others. I will never stay at another Best Western. We tried to get in to the Hamilton and several other hotels near but were unable to find adequate rooms or we would not have stayed the night. I will say Crystal, at the front desk, did do her best to help everyone. She was very pleasant.
Nice size room 2 TVs, one king size bed, one sofa bed. Room was clean, air conditioner was nice and cold. Free washer and dryer on the 3rd floor, and swimming pool, and free breakfast (no hot breakfast due to the covid pandemic some things had to be done differently). We had a nice time here and the lady manager in the morning was very nice as well as the rest of the staff.
I called the front desk at around 1 am after another hotel had booked the room they had “saved” for me. I had called several hotels prior with no luck in finding a room. The front desk staff, Matthew, told me he had a room available and when I arrived 10 minutes later, was incredibly helpful and sweet. Matthew got me a great rate on the room and made the check-in process easy. The room was clean and well-kept. I would gladly stay here again the next time I’m in the area!
Our room was awful. We walked in to find chips, popcorn, sunflower seeds, and candy all over the floor. The front desk clerk got us a vacuum after we complained. He offered to sweep it himself but I wanted to make sure I got everything. The beds were made but I am pretty certain our sheets were the same ones the prior guests used based off the amount of hair and a rock that was found between the sheets. Plus there was food crusted on a pillow case and there was even what appeared to be blood on one of the comforters. We thought at least the bathroom looked clean until we saw that the shower had a half used bar of soap and body wash still in it and hair all over the shower walls 🤦♀️. Both elevators were broken at one point, but one was later fixed. I didnt expect a 5 star hotel but considering we paid almost $300 (including fees & taxes) for 1 night, I at least expected a clean room and bedding plus more than 2 towels for 4 people. Be aware before booking this hotel.
Very clean and comfortable. Shower had great pressure and a fan (so many hotels dont) and the bed was comfortable. They are short staffed like so many other places, so give folks some grace and understand theyre doing their best. Very pleasant stay for our family of 4.
Dirty and noisy. The room was not cleaned before we checked in and if it was it was a terrible job. The carpet is sticky and dirty, the pull out couch is stained and uncomfortable and it feels and looks like goodwill furniture. The bathroom is grimy and nasty. There is no way the bathroom was cleaned at all. I hate to be that person but with covid going around, cleanliness is even more important. Would not recommend or ever stay again. Also upon check in it seemed like I was an inconvenience because the 2 staff members acted like they were deciding who was going to bother getting up, very unprofessional. I stood at the counter waiting for them to get their act together. Horrible experience for my last hotel on my road trip.
The lobby of the hotel was very nice. If the rooms were the same caliber, Im sure its a nice hotel...if they can get the rooms ready for check-in.I never got to a room. The manager informed us at check in (3pm as advertised on their website) that the room wasnt ready and that it wouldnt be ready for another few hours. She was rude and refused to offer any discount for the problem. She complained that she didnt have enough staff, yet there were 2 employees doing nothing in the lobby in addition to the manager (one woman outside smoking and another just standing around on her phone).I had to argue with the manager for a refund, but she did finally agree to let us get a refund and leave.
I was charged for an extra day, when I noticed the charge I called and asked, I was told it was just a pending charge that would drop off in 7-10 days. Two days later it was “completed” and o contacted them again and was told “call tomorrow after we’ve had time to look into it.” Then hours later received a call and was told the charge was for my second day, which I was not there and did not reserve, they said “looks like Expedia owes you some money then!” So I contacted Expedia and was told that the reservation was indeed only for one day and they would contact the hotel, which they did, at which time the hotel assistant manager told them that I “asked to extend my stay!” A complete falsehood. They had now told me two different stories and told Expedia a third. Upon confronting them with this information and demanding correction I was told if I hadn’t hung up on them earlier they were going to refund me. These people are incompetent, placing fraudulent charges, have DEPLORABLE/NONEXISTENT customer service and there are literally dozens of other options nearby, there’s NO REASON to patronize this business!
Not the best hotel to pick. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. There is no hot breakfast available. Only one towel in the room. I should not need to chase after someone for towels Over priced for a BW Plus hotel. The staff was nice, owners don’t care about the guest comfort. Also, lights burned out in bathroom. One last thing took me awhile to find my room key realized the reused a Hilton card. This is getting too cheap when BW has to use other hotel cards. The water pressure for shower and staff is good
The rooms are nice, nothing extra ordinary or anything, pretty up to date I suppose. The reception is their killer though. Lots of waiting and is very slow, like they dont know how to use the computer or something. Ive been here 3 times in the past couple of months for work and every time I have not had less than a 30 minute wait in the lobby, and that gets really frustrating after driving for like 10 hours.
Me and my family were not happy with our experience. When we arrived, we were informed on the fact that the pool was not open. This was a major issue due to the fact that It was the only issue we choose to stay here. Earlier that day we choose not to got to Waterworld at Waldameer since we thought wed be able to swim at our hotel. The next day we found out that the orange juice machine was broken and you had to make your own waffles. When in the shower, one of the sides is clear. Although the bathroom door is closed, it is natural to feel like youre exposed. The elevator was incredibly slow. It took for ever to arrive, weather or not there is someone in there or not. For the remainer of our trip we took the stairs that werent incredibly long. At the very tip of the ice berg, the remote was a pain in the next because you had to extend your arm and spam the buttons in order for anything to happen. I do not recommend staying here.
Dirty room had to ask for a vacuum was told they only had one person working on a Friday at 6pm had to get the vacuum and do it myself found a half open beer can beside the tv. Air conditioning in room would not go below 75. No other rooms available to switch to. Definitely not worth the about of money we spent. Will never stay at another best western.
Positive: Nothing Negative: The pool was closed and the website didn¿t mention that. Also no servicing breakfast but grab bags that were worst then the school field trip bags. The shower was discussing with mold. Also had to wait 15 minutes for check in. Could request other room.
I have been a Best Western rewards member for a few years now, as I stayed at one in Cleveland regularly for work each week. Ive been to several now as a result, including one or two that are Best Western Plus, but that I personally dont feel qualify as being any nicer than the ones that are not Plus. This location is an exception. Ive been here twice now, and both times the location has been clean and welcoming. Id come back, and recommend it to others, for sure.
Newer hotel, room was clean, but heater didnt work. Was not impressed with guest services. Their in hotel snack store was almost empty, had not been restocked in who knows how long, no beverages in coolers etc. I stayed on a Friday night, got up Saturday morning and went to Lobby at 9:05 to grab breakfast and there was none. I understand during covid-19 that hotels are limiting the contact, but they were providing a bagged breakfast to go, but only until 9am. I was not told the time of breakfast at check in. Most hotels offer this until 10 am on the weekends. Front desk clerk did not offer to reach behind the curtain where he just placed the bagged breakfasts and give me one. Again, poor guest service. Their parking lot was solid packed ice, looked like it hasnt been salted at all this winter. Law suit waiting to happen
Rooms were very clean. Fresh sheets and linens. Pool was a little small but decent. Stayed 2 nights and had to ask for extra towels and room service never came to empty trash or give fresh towels. Breakfast was nice, but get there early. Also nice to have a washer and dryer on site for wet clothes if you are visiting the parks.
Both of our locks were non functioning. The bar lock was completely snapped and a piece actually fell off. The deadbolt didnt engage with the door. I let then know and they never fixed it. There was blood on one of our pillows, also let them know and they never replaced it. Got woken up at 4:30 in the morning from two random phone calls to our room. Neighbors were up screaming at each other until 2:30. They never gave us new towels, replaced our garbage, fixed either of the locks, or replaced the bloody pillow.
Billing issues. Our daughter goes to college out there. We have been staying there for almost two years. This weekend was the worst. Upon check in, I presented gift cards to be used. They claimed their system was down. After dinner i tried to present gift cards. System still down. Overnight I was charged an extra $25 for incidentals. I protested. Then a rebill for the room amount. I protested again. Why? They never gave me credit for the gifts cards. Instead, as per Best Western customer service, the hotel redeemed the gift cards for themselves with giving me credit for them. Now Best western and AmEx investigating.
The man that usually answered the phone when I called was extremely rude & rushes you bc it seems as though he doesnt have the timeThe bathroom is so-soAnd when we got there for a tournament one family got a key & went to it to find out there was another family in there and two other families were being charged more that what should have been charged until a family had told them. They had to be refunded.Very unorganized and one of the men are rudeGreat location though but not 100% I would stay here again
When checked in....Pool closed, and breakfast is grab and go (due to covid) but its June 2021 and everything is open.....they need to update their policy on this. Also got to room and pulled out sofa couch, and sheets are stainless....called front desk and they told us to come and get new ones...... ummm customer service much??For being a newer hotel looks pretty beat up , walls have dents , only half the elevators work. etc etc. Its seems they really dont care Tired to give BW a shot, but will be looking elsewhere in the Future.
It is a very beautiful place. It looks like a luxury hotel (which I enjoyed). Enjoyed the friendly staff, especially this morning when I went to get breakfast 10 minutes before they were to shut it down and they waited so patiently for me to get everything I wanted before cleaning up and had a smile on their face the entire time. Also on my way to breakfast I heard one of the staff members ask a guest leaving if they enjoyed there stay and if they had a great time. I was pleased to hear this, it let me know that the staff really care about the guest and their enjoyment here. The bed was very comfortable and the room was so beautiful and modern. The breakfast was amazing. Pool was great, just a tad cold but still great. It was quiet and peaceful. I would most definitely recommend this hotel. I know if I am ever back in Erie, PA, I am most definitely staying here again👍🏼❤😁
Such a nice hotel. Everything was very new and clean. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Smelled nice. Gorgeous bathroom was spotless with large stand up shower. Excellent water pressure. Hot breakfast was great as well with lots of options. Staff was really friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
We got transferred to this hotel due to the original one we made reservations at being closed. When we arrived In our room the tub was so disgusting you could see dirt foot prints in it so requested a different room. Due to the fact that they had to take people from the other hotel they didn’t have anymore rooms available so we got transferred again to another hotel(Not their fault we were fine with that) The next day I noticed they charged my card an extra $50 (After I had already paid the refundable fee for just incase damage) When I called to ask why I was charged, the man as very rude and did not/could not explain the charge. He didn’t even ask my name to look up the reservation, didn’t ask what room I was in, nothing, I then told him my name & asked him to look me up and he said he can’t. When asked to speak to a manager he said no manager would be available until Monday (This call happened on a Saturday). Just totally dissatisfied with the up keeping & customer service. Of this hotel... The parking lot was also VERY icy, as if maintenance did not even try to salt the parking lot. When we pulled out (it’s a little hill to exit the hotel parking lot) we couldn’t stop at the stop sign and almost got hit going into oncoming traffic. Luckily no cars were coming.
My family and I stayed here here in August. The hotel was really clean. Breakfast was amazing. The lady taking care of it was amazing. Our only complaint was how room service never came up. We stayed from Thursday until Tuesday and I had to ask Sunday for them to send someone up. The manager on duty said she was going to do something for us on the bill, but nothing was done. I think I would go back here because it was super clean and the breakfast was really that good, however I would be really upset if the same thing happens since I just read a review that said they never got room service either.
Not a bad room. Could have used a better cleaning in the bathroom. The floor of the shower was not clean! but the beds were comfortable, and clean, the air was cold. And the gentleman that met us at the desk the first night was really cool and assisted us with a smile and a great attitude!
Simply amazing. The staff here is on point. The room was perfect. Clean, modern and comfy. I stayed 3 nights and it really was like being at home. Coming from a guy that stays in hotel rooms at least 250 nights a year, this hotel really stands out as being in the top 5 that I have ever stayed at. A real gem and I highly recommend.
I liked the room. The indoor pool was fun. The workout room is nice. The free breakfast was gross. I do NOT recommend the eggs. My three children, husband, and I wanted to throw up when we tried the eggs. Please stick with just the waffles. Dont eat the danishes or cinnamon rolls either. They were dry and tasted like theyve been in that container for at least a week.
Always have Loved Best Westerns, would of given 5 stars but no breakfast.Other than that Nicole at front desk was very pleasant & some worker on 3rd floor was very nice in helping us figure out our room key. Room was very spacious & Definately very clean, plenty of towels. Definitely stay again & highly recommend..Thank you!
Katie, the general manager, was so accommodating. She did the absolute best with the hand she was dealt, considering Covid-19 parameters, so to-go breakfast bags (fruit, water, granola bar), no pool or fitness center--no big deal. Rooms were clean and quiet, bed was comfy. Great place to stay to go sight-seeing in Erie!
Best & Friendly Customer Service! Shout out to the staff: Morgan at the front desk, Jane the Breakfast lady & Amanda the Manager all went above & beyond! What a great team!We were just passing through! Needed an inexpensive but nice, clean place to sleep for the night close to freeway! SCORE! Soft sheets & comfy bed! We slept great & had a great breakfast. We booked online & got a great last minute deal! I found on Thursday night a King room for $79 before tax. We checked in just before midnight. I dont think thats the normal rate but couldnt pass it up for such a great facility! Thanks again to Morgan, Jane & Amanda for a great stay!
Hotel overall was good. The manager Katie is VERY unprofessional. I paid for my stay though Expedia, I ended up being charged a total of 3 times by the hotel itself. I called everyday for 5 days to get the situation taken care of 1 of the night workers reversed 1 charge. I called customer service twice to have them contact the hotel or Katie and each time they even called there was no answer. Katie eventually called me and was VERY unprofessional on the call and never apologized for the extra charges she even tried to take credit for her worker that reversed the first charges work. Overall nice stay but Katie gives that hotel a bad look nobody wants to stay or deal with a unprofessional “manager” like that.
It’s a nice hotel but some things are definitely not what their description says. The “heated” pool was freezing cold. We were shivering the entire time as were the others in the pool. The rooms are updated and clean but on the small side. The location is good and easy to get too. The worst part however is the walls are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING. & I seriously do mean everything. We were woken up at 630 am by a headboard banging off the wall so hard ours was also. & again at 8am. Not the hotels fault though, just might wanna get some better insulation lol
Lovely setting, desk help just right. However, when we got to our room, the maid had neglected to put anything but the bottom sheet on the bed, oh, and pillows. The shower is spacious and delightful, but the glass doors are covered with hard water stains. Breakfast was harried. The desk help seemed to best in charge of maintaining the Breakfast Bar, keeping it supplied as well as managing the check outs at the desk. She did her best! It could have been outstanding but it wasnt.
I walked in to book a room, the front desk seem uninterested in working at all. I asked if there were rooms, she punched 2 keys on the computer and said No, but I would go next door ,there hotel is better anyway. I went to my car went onlline and booked the room, via Best Western
This hotel is very dirty!! Ask for extra clean sheets, and bring a bottle of bleach with you ! Seriously bring bleach with you and clean the room! The tp holder was falling off the wall & the entire room was covered in dust and lint.. the shower floor is black from grime and the fridge does not work .... the closet door magnet is broken and the sheets were wrinkled and musty. All the mirrors and Surfaces were covered in fingerprints and dust.. I would reconsider renting a room from this place..
My wife, child, and myself we going on holiday for a few nights in August. We reserved a double queen room at the Best Western Plus located at 8033 Oliver Road Erie Pa 16509. We had arrived to the area sooner than expected and called the hotel. We were pleased that the hotel was able to receive us early and we were able to check in between 1130 and noon to room 218. The room wasnt the cleanest hotel room we stayed in, but it wasnt the worst. There were some hairs around the sink and in the shower, and we thought it was surprising that there wasnt a clock or an alarm clock, and the ice bucket must have been overlooked because it was full of water. Anyways we were on holiday with our daughter and we took her out for the day.The next morning we went down for breakfast and other than the staff being unprepared for the number of guests and it leading to food shortages and standing room only, after a little wait we were able to get some food and go about our day. After breakfast we left for the park around 930am and did not return till 745-8pm. Upon our arrival back to our room we very unhappy that the service person had not entered our room. This has been the only hotel we had ever stayed when the service person did not attempt to make the bed or freshen the bathroom or provide clean towels. I went and spoke to the front desk and asked to have our room clean. I was informed that that was not possible as she was the only staff person till the next morning. I then asked to be moved to a clean room or speek to upper management. I was told upper management can not be called and she gave us a clean room. My wife soon found out the hard way that the clean room was occupied! This was the turning point and I told the desk person we will not be staying the night and I drove my wife and 4 year old daughter back home subjecting them to a late car ride for several hours. As we were packing we found the alarm clock that the room was supposed to have. It was behind the night stand with used juice bottle that did not belong to us. Making me feel very dirty as now I think that we were put up in a used room.I am very disappointed in this stay and feel very put out by the Best Western. I left my number for the hotel manager to call me and I wrote Best Western customer service and have yet to hear back.
This was one of the best hotel experiences Ive had in a long time. We got stuck in horrible weather on our way home from Pittsburgh (after our Christmas vacation) so we checked in for a night last minute. The amazing guy working at the front desk went above and beyond to help us get comfortable and settled and even let us come down for a later breakfast (past the regular breakfast hours). The hotel was beautifully updated, very clean and well kept. Im looking forward to getting back for a weekend getaway here as its also a perfect location close to lots of great shopping and restaurant options. Beautiful hotel and great customer service; cant ask for much more!!
This location receives the worst rating ever!!!! Refrigerator not working properly as well as not being clean still containing food from previous guests, shower/tub not working properly, both spigot and shower head operating simultaneously which caused low pressure for shower as well as the tub being clogged so slow drainage and lack of cleanliness confirmed by sighting of a roach (pictures obtained). To add insult to injury we were refused a refund of our 1 night stay by the manager, Katie Wapely. She tried to discredit our claim of a roach stating it was probably a stink bug. Bug confirmed to be a roach by employee who also took pictures. When requested that our number be provided to Katey so that hers not be provided to us, for a direct conversation, we were told that she would call us back on Monday. Today is Saturday. I have never had a hotel stay like this and we WILL be contacting the corporate office.
We only had an overnight as we traveled across country. Last year we stayed next door and had dirty room and sheets. This time we checked in here late and unbelievably the sheets had someones short hairs in the sheets and stains on the top cover. The room was clean except some beard shaving in the sink. I think the rest was good and I would stay here again. Just check the sheets before you go to bed.
I booked this room though Priceline When I checked in on 2.6.2021 they asked for a $25 damage fee witch was fine, they have not released the hold on my Card I have called multiple times to see what was going on. I eventually spoke to Manager. When I spoke to him he told me that Priceline did not pay them yet, I called Priceline and they told me they did. I called back suddenly the manager was not available that was on the 2.13.2021, Once again I called them again on 2.19.2021 and ask for a Manager The person at the desk stated that he was not available. He never hung up the phone but proceeded to relay the message to his Manager. heard the whole conversation he tried to call me back but he never realized he Never hung up. so I Call BEST WESTERN EIRE PA back on a different phone while I was still on the line and stated that I heard the whole Conversation. The male at the desk at 3:10 became very aggressive. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL THE ROOM WAS NASTY THE TOWELS HAD STAINS ON THE VERY DISSATISFIED!!!!
Perfect location for our Erie trip. Great price too! Breakfast was good. Pool area nice. Room very clean also. The only thing I thought was odd was that they only made our beds the first morning but didnt on subsequent days. One negative was that we had to call and ask for extra bath towels multiple times but staff was very nice about it. Would definately stay here again.
This is one of the nicest Best Western hotels that I have stayed in. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was amazing. The breakfast was also better than most Best Westerns, they had omlets and bacon instead of the usual bagged eggs and stale non refrigerated sausage. I will definitely be staying here again when I pass through.
Id give it a 0 if I could. I had reserved a room weeks in advance. When I got to the hotel the front desk associate named Raven was having issues. I stood there for more then a half hour waiting for a room. During that time she kept telling me it was the computer being slow but come to find out they sold my room to a walk in guest. Well the room I reserved a king size bed was unavailable. As she was looking for a room for me she took multiple phone calls which took more time to help me. In the end I was promised a free night of points which looking at the rewards would be equivalent of atleast 8,000 points. What did they give me, an extra 200 points. Thats ashame. I travel and stay in hotels over 200 days a year and that will be the final time I ever stay at a Best Western. 200 points is comical.
Book right away!!! Stayed here on my way. Excellent hotel. Ryan at the front desk was exceptionally helpful during the check in process. He made us feel at home and was very pleasant to talk to. The hotel is brand new. The rooms are very comfortable and upscale. The facility is well maintained. The parking is well lit and its right off the high way.The manager, Amanada Speller was fantastic. I needed some help with the check out and she went above and beyond. Probably one of my best hotel stays. Dont look any further any book right away!!!!
My three young girls and myself had, had a very long stressful drive to NY and back within two days. My youngest caught a tummy bug. I was so greatly appreciative of the staff and their friendliness. The awesome washer and dryer on the third floor, and the guy at breakfast was so kind. My 6 yr old spilled juice and he so kindly cleaned it up. Thank you!
I stayed here in June or July of 2017 and was extremely happy with my stay. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and plentiful. We got a great initial room rate and when we asked to stay an extra night, the manager extended the same rate for an extra night.Splash lagoon is just across the street and there a few places to eat close by with Erie just 10 mins drive away.
This hotel is the worst. the hotel so small which isn’t really bothersome but if you are in the hallway talking you can hear it from the room. there was not party room therefore we were stuck to be extremely quiet in the main lobby area. we got threatened multiple times for simply talking and walking around. it was first warning and then final warning within 10 minutes of each other. if you ever travel with friends DO NOT come to this hotel.
I stayed 8/21. 1 night for business. The room was nice, the people were nice. No breakfast person = no breakfast, one of the reasons I booked. System down = No receipt, which I need for business purposes. They will email it. NOPE!! THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN YOU CALL. STILL NO RECEIPT!!!
We called ahead for early check in. Got there room wasnt ready. We were told 30 more min, they still didnt clean it. They let us put our things in a dirty room. We came back still not clean. They never changed the bedding, I did that myself. They didnt clean the bathroom or restock it. Staff was rude. Common area was too small for the hotel. Room was missing a light bulb so it was dark in there. Never stocked the towels at the pool. Asked several times for towels. They gave us 3 for 8 people and never gave us more despite multiple requests. Never stayed somewhere where they refused to make things right or clean your room. Dont stay here!
Nice clean place. But when I checked into my room our garbage can was full of trash. They failed to change it.. and the bed was really not comfortable at all. The pillows were horrible and the bed was hard as a rock. My husband an I didnt enjoy it. Also the hot water wasnt very hot. It was Luke warm. Also the front desk lady was rude to me when I asked a few questions like I was a waste of time to her. And also the continental breakfast. The first morning was great. The lady refilled the hot trays with food over and over as needed. Everything was great. But then next morning there were tons of people and the hot trays were not refilled as needed they failed to give utensils to eat and theyre was no juices, milk, syrups, etc.. their was no batter for waffles, or anything.. so all in all it was not a good experience and we will not be using best western plus as an option to stay. I recommend to pick a different hotel for sure.
They tried to charge my credit card 9 months later for a room I had a free cancellation on and have an email to show they received and processed the cancellation for free! Booked a room for a stay in March, family emergency caused me to cancel the room within a few days of the scheduled visit. 9 months later, so in December, I get an alert from my bank that the hotel tried to charge my card for a stay!!! Absolutely ridiculous!! Called corporate and was told that each hotel location is in charge of the billing etc so I called the Erie location directly, after 3 attempts of calling with no answer, I finally get someone to pick up the phone. Was told to give my name and number and that the office manager would call as soon as she got a moment....still havent received a call back!
Brand new hotel so rooms and lobby are top notch and clean. Pillows and beds great. Breakfast was only gripe. Waffles where 85% water 25% batter. Same goes with their milk. So rooms and lobby 5/5. Breakfast 1/5. For reference I work out of town 24/7 so stay at hotels every night. Overall would stay again but would go out for breakfast.
Doesnt matter how clean the rooms are, stayed there on Saturday and upon check in told the front desk I would be paying cash, was assured that wouldnt be a problem but needed a credit card on file. Gave them my debit card. Upon leaving the next day I did pay for cash ( $227.00) Today $249.00 was taken out of my account, when the hotel was called we were given an authorization code to call our bank and have the money re imbursed into the account, we called and they laughed, said the merchant has to do that, I called the hotel back and am still waiting for a regional manager to call me back. So we paid twice for the same room...and try to contact someone??? Impossible!
Booked 3 hotel rooms almost 2 weeks in advance, called hotel to make sure that all rooms would be near each other as we had small children. Was assured that the rooms were right next to each other and was even told what floor the rooms would be on. Arrived at the hotel 2 hrs after check in time and was told that one of the rooms was still not ready. Waited another 30min and finally received the 3rd room key on a completely different floor. Explained that this was unacceptable because we could not leave children unattended. Front desk staff member was extremely rude hung up the phone when we called from room trying to explain that the rooms being on separate floors would not work. Asked to speak to manager on call who was full of excuses and told us that they cannot block rooms and they don’t know what they have available until the day of arrival which is a lie. The best she could do was assign us another room completely down the other end of the hall from the other two rooms which still wouldn’t work because again we would be leaving children unattended. Found out that the reason that we did not get the rooms that were previously reserved for us was because a party with a large group of children booked the hotel and were given the rooms on the 3rd floor that I was told were being reserved for my family of 12 about two weeks prior. Also the large group of children broke the elvator so we had to carry all of our bags up and back down the stairs. We ended up going to the solstice hotel and staying in suites and ended up paying almost $500 less! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone but I do recommend that they retrain whomever the front desk attendant was as he was very rude and unprofessional as if he did not understand why we were upset. Who wouldn’t be upset in our situation? Traveling almost 4hrs only to be told that the rooms they had available would not accomadate my family even though we booked this hotel 2 weeks in advance and called to make sure that our request to be close together would be accomadated.
Check in was a breeze. There are few parking spots on lobby side and snow coulda been pushed back further in the back spots. Room was clean and comfortable although on the small side. Great selection of television channels. Breakfast selection was normal of most BW, well stocked and clean both the attendant and the young lady at Front Desk were very friendly. Check out was easy. My only piece of advice and has nothing to do with hotel, do not order wings from Alfees pizza and wings, flyers were on hotel counter. The wings were tiny and overcooked and had no flavor. Pizza was meh.
If you like to make your own bed, not receive fresh towels, plug in all of the lamps and appliances yourself, and push the heavy TV unit back against the wall, then this hotel is for you. Complete with empty promises, no believable apology, and pathetic scrambled eggs.
Sub-par hotel. Completely under-staffed (front desk rep is responsible for the breakfast, late-evening housekeeping requests AND checking people in). Coincidentally I waited 10 minutes to check in with one person in front of me. I requested sheets & pillows for the pull-out couch & was given a sheet, wool blanket & 1 pillow. Very poor service - many other options in the area to consider.
The greeter was absolutley rude, she ignored my family and I for 15 minutes while she was talking on the phone. It was 1am there was nobody else in the lobby and my pregnant wife, son and I had just driven 900miles, we were all literally ready to pass out.... we already had reservations and it wouldnt have taken all but 2 minutes to help us ou, so my little family could finally get some rest.Other then that, the room was very nice. Didnt get a chance to try to breakfast.
I am not giving this hotel any stars because it was horrible. Although I have to so I can post this comment. But, from bugs and hair on the beds in one room, to switching rooms, and blood on the beddings in the new room. The floors need vaccumed and mopped and they need to learn how to dust. I have worked in 2 hotels so I understand what and why they do things in hotels, but that was the worse hotel experience I have been in. There was one time I called down and when the gal put me on hold she sat the phone down on the desk. I heard ever word and let me just say honey yes Im bitching! Get over it. Your hotel was dirty, not taken care of and the employees were horribly rude. I will NEVER stay at a Best Western hotel again!
Beautiful rooms, new hotel. Breakfast was included which was nice although I did not attend. Difficult to get early check in. Pizza place across the street that was recommended to us by the front desk staff was delicious. This location is too far away from any DELIVERY restaurants, no pizza places will deliver.
Before we checked in management had come in and fired everyone. They left a kid with one day prior training to run the place. He did a good job considering. We came to have breakfast on Sunday morning there was no meat and barely anything else to be eaten. When we checked out, again the employee was alone to do everything. They could not find us in the room they booked us in, they kept insisting that we had switched rooms(which we did not). I asked if she had given me my AAA discount she said I had booked through Expedia we could not get it. I told her I booked two different best western hotels in Pennsylvania through Best western not a 3rd party at the same time and we were not given this problem when checking in at the previous hotel, she stared at the screen and kept saying I booked through another service not through Best Western she continued to click around her screen for 5 minutes mumbling about Expedia without telling us that she was trying or going to help us. I finally told her nevermind we had several people waiting behind us. I was so angry not at the staff trying to do the best they could all alone, but at the management that will walk into a place and without considering the consequences of their actions they fire the majority of staff and the guests have to suffer.
I was really excited at the deal we got on this room. Plus the hotel is brand spankin new. Its also made out of drum skin and wax paper. The staff is awesome, the location is great, the ability to hear and feel people walking around and opening every door in the building repeatedly above AND below you at all hours is priceless. We even sleep with a roaring box fan that couldnt drown any of it out. Theres a real sense of a close community, so close its like a colony. For instance while waiting for the elevator I enjoyed the sounds of another patron taking a relaxing shower behind two closed doors, and another flushing the toilet. Took a shower myself and found pink mold in the corners of the shower, marks on the wallpaper of questionable origin, water marks on the glass shower doors that have probably never been cleaned and Im not sure whats up with the 2 foot water hose for the toilet that was plumbed at a great distance from the toilet itself... But the 1960s hillary rodham Clinton circus pants printed carpet in the stair wells shocks you awake and makes up for the couple hours sleep I actually managed to sneak in between shriking neighbor toddlers across the hall and the coming and going of my fellow road warriors. Plus, perpetual free coffee in the lobby gets you going. The pool is great for kids, and extra clean. In total it beats the pants off sleeping in the car. Seriously though, if you stay get food from golden wok chinese, I travel all over this country and thats the best Ive had in a decade. They deliver, and you can order online. Oh, hotel parking is awkward, bring walking shoes.
The room was nice with large fridge and microwave, peak aboo views of the lake and comfy bed. We had a terrible experience at check, which took about 45 mins because only one person was at the desk and a whole group of people arrived at once. Breakfast was ok, only a few tables though.
From the topNo Breakfast, Pool, or Fitness Room due to Covid-19Mask Mandatory at Check-in and in Hotel, but not in your own room.Substitute GrabnGo Bags, for kids and adults.Housekeeping not done daily for stayovers Except on your third night stay, Because of Covid-19 and to protect you and our Staff. We hope to get through this Pandemic and Enjoy our Guests Appreciation through this time.
Was disappointed in the parking lot design. I am handicapped and use a cane. There were no ramps that made it easy to get my luggage in. The refrigerator wasnt cold and the thermostat in the room didnt work. I usually ALWAYS stay at Best Western and this was an exception to a usually great experience.
No one wears masks here, even the people at the front desk. The cleaning crew were out front all together smoking with their masks down around their necks. None of the other guests has masks, and the hotel was NOT enforcing the mandatory mask guidelines. Apparently no one cared about the health and well being of the other guests. I called the 1-800 number and Peyton didnt seem to care that no one was wearing masks during a global pandemic that was actually killing hundreds of thousands of people.
The air conditioner barely worked.. parts of room were still dirty.. the remote had dried cheese on.. the lady working nights tried to get us another room but there were not any available just like our room.. she did accommodate the best she could.. and the pool heater must of been broken the water was extremely cold.. but enough of the bad.. the breakfast was super delicious and quite a few options.. the lobby is clean and the outside appearance is nice.. the gentleman at the front desk this morning was going to talk to the manager About making it right and get back to us.. we stayed there a month ago and the experience was perfect no complaints at all not sure what happened between then and now?
First impressions of the hotel was very modern and clean , the girl at the first desk when checking in was very helpful,However the room itself could use some work the had a light that didnt work and it appeared that the shower hadnt been cleaned ,the following morning when we went to eat breakfast it was disgusting garbage can was overfollowing with garbage and when the only staff member who seemed to be running the entire hotel seen it she ignored it for a good 20 min, when she finally changed it it was done while complaining about it , all of the supplies were empty and needed to be filled , coffee , cups , milk etc , when this same person was interacting with upset customers she was incredibly rude and yelling at them , while checking out the people ahead of us who were also unhappy with their stay were all give $50 off of their room they had 4 rooms , when it was our turn to check out I also mentioned that we were unhappy with are stay and would like $50 taken off our room , she blamed the staff from the night before for many of the problems and told me she was unable to do so and could only do $25 when I asked why the other ppl did I was told she had spoken to her manger and she had allowed it , I then requested her to call her manger and was told the she was unable to and that I would have to wait after already being in line for 20mins , while she was checking ppl out she was also answering the phone and very rude to customers instead of putting then on hold told the that she had a long line and to call back in a half hour , I then asked for the mangers name and number so that I could call myself and was told that there was no number and if I wanted to speak to her I would have to go to one of the other 5 hotels she ran to find her , this is absolutely ridiculous and not how ppl should be handling customers I will definitely not be returning .
The worst place ever we went there for a family trip we rented our rooms two weeks prior to go and when we showed up they did not have our rooms reading the staff was very rude the management was ignorant they split our rooms up on different floors I have my children with me and they wanted me to be on a different floor than my children I explain to them that could never happen and instead of trying to solve the problem and give me what I paid for it they were going to me and told me to get out I talk to management and she was just as ignorant I would never ever ever go back there again worst place ever to stay if you thinking about a trip
STAYED IN ROOM 309. FOUND BEDBUGS. COMPLAINED AND LEFT IN MORNING. GOT AN EMAIL FROM MANAGEMENT SAYING THEY CHECKED ROOM DIDNT SEE ANYTHING AND IT MUST HAVE BEEN A FLYING BUG. AT THE END OF NOVEMBER AT 2 AM, WHEN I KILLED SEVERAL ON THE PILLOW DONT GIVE ME THAT GARBAGE. HORRIBLE! DO NOY STAY HERE.

2022-04-22It is a nice place. We got a room as requested on the first floor. The room was clean and had a mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. There was a big walk in shower . The water was hot. The towels were fluffy and soft. The bed was comfortable with a firm mattress. They had breakfast in the morning with the usual fair. They take AARP also. The only issue was the grounds maintainence people were out early blowing leaves which was quite noisy. If we wanted to sleep in , it would have been impossible with the noise of the leaf blowers outside of our room.

2021-12-08Stayed here two nights and the hotel met basic expectations. The rooms were quiet and clean. The blankets were thin but they gave me a spare. Their breakfast offering had a good variety but quality of food especially the waffle mix, eggs and bacon could be improved.

2022-05-16Excellent new facility with great location for a road trip passing through. There was an issue with one room, but they fixed it to my expectations. Breakfast was excellent for a free continental.

2021-12-27Stayed a weekend a while ago. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and tidy but the refrigerator smelled like fish terribly and stunk up the entire room.Room service supposedly cleaned it but that didn’t help much.

2021-11-23We stayed for 3 nights. The room was decent small for the price I would say. The first night was good we settled in. The next morning we put the please make up the room card on our door they never came. The second day we put the please make the room card on our door so they would come in. Never did again. So we had called down to get more towels. Which we shouldnt have to if they would have came. On our last day which be today 11/23/2021. Having double rooms are nice if you have both rooms but since we only had 1. The people beside us had there alarm going off for 10 minutes. At 4am. Overall not worth the money staying at this hotel. No housekeeping apparently. Also the shower we had leaked all over the floor. Not sealed right or something. First and last time we stay here. Dont recommend. We went to breakfast 2 times. The first time we came down the GM was there and was talking to this group of people. Never said one word to us. Very unprofessional. Also the parking lot not being able to go all the way around which was very inconvenient.

2021-09-20The hotel facility is very modern with nice amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was, unfortunately, an issue with housekeeping and the room was not as clean as it should have been. I brought this to the attention of Jan, the manager. She was very apologetic and wanted to make things right, which she did. She is new in her position and in the process of improving the customer experience at this particular hotel. I am confident that she will achieve that goal, and I look forward to the opportunity of staying there the next time I pass through Erie.

2022-01-03Positive: Well I am unable to comment o. The room because I didn¿t make it that far. When I first walked into the hotel I noticed a strong scent of potpourri which was incredibly strong. The clerk was on the phone and I couldn¿t stand in the lobby for long. Negative: Yes the smell of potpourri that I couldn¿t handle and I wouldn¿t even let my husband walk in due due his health reason due to this smell bad enough I had itchy puffy and watery eyes. We would have been calling an ambulance for him as he has Multipl
