So glad to get into a room, was exhausted, so getting a room was so very nice!! Showers were very nice, hot water was refreshing!! Beds comfortable. Didnt understand tv channels tho!! Awesome full breakfast line up, self serve, very nice, held our appetites well into the mid~afternoon! Parking was the pits, $22s/24 hour parking, 2 blocks away&Absolutely No Comp, whats up with that Krazy stuff??!! Thats out of control, for sure!! Very quiet atmosphere to get some sleep, very nice!!!
Positive: Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. They supported me with loss of wallet. Prompt response for maintenance with furnace heater too. Negative: The carpeting in the hallways was filthy. It was stained and old. The door had a big gap between frame & wall. Noise from outside came right through & kept me up at nights.
Probably one of the best places Ive stayed at for a short visit anywhere in recent memory.Clean room, secure wifi, good breakfast and large, clean lobby! The way a hotel establishment should be.Would definitely revisit should I find myself in that past of the country again!
I stay at this hotel for two nights and in comparison with the prices I just saw online I paid over double which is and would have been fine had I enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was 100% on point and was exactly what was advertised. The part that ruined my entire stay was the three showers that i took were ice cold. Not even lukewarm. This ruined my stay here in philly, which I was excited to be here, but will always remember it for freezing cold showers in a $200.00 night room in the beginning of MARCH.-GENUINELY DISAPPOINTED,Alexander G.
Booked in to attend a trade show at Phillidelphia Convention centre. Having stayed at many BW before, the hotel was clean & neat, good room & pleasant staff. Problem was the hotel is under renovation & the corridors had big green machines going 24/7 making a noise. This was not advised when making the reservation and paying and only became noticeable ( the noise) when trying to sleep. I tried to get another room further away from the machines & noise, unfortunately none available. I contacted BW noting the situation & requesting some form of discount / compensation unsuccessfully. Disappointing considering the unadvised renovations/noise. The hotel situated in close walking proximity to the Convention center & well priced compared to other better hotels on the other side of town. They have homeless people sleeping on the street outside the hotel.with much of the litter and belongings around the street, which is sad but also unpleasant for tourists & business people wanting to meet at the hotel lobby/ bar.
Great location.. horrible communication.. there was a fire in the hotel while we were out. We didnt find out till the next day when we saw news vans and asked them. The room next to ours was soaked and they had dryers running all night and didnt move our room... when checking out the closed off hallway we had to use to get to the elevator to go to the lobby.. dont stay here!!!!!
We had to wait 40 minutes to get into our room because they’re weren’t finish cleaning it till 4pm. We also had to pay 100$ in case we destroy something. They said we will get it back in a few days. The room was clean and good for the price! For breakfast, you have to be early. (Breakfast 7-9:30am). Scrambled eggs were gone at 7:40 und nothing gets refueled. So better be early. Everything is double packt in plastic. Even the plates and the „silverware“ is Plastik. No vegetables, just a few fruits but the rest was ok. You’re really close to Reading terminal market. Walking takes like 5min. Just parking is really expensive (20-30$ for 24std)
Sprayed everything with lysol. Bought some bedding from walmart as the hotels was not what you would call clean. Carpet is atrocious. You would think a new roll of tp would be clean since it was wrapped. Nope had some brown crumb looking things.. Rooms small. No parking.
The front desk lady was very rude. She instantly spoke with an attitude, not even a greeting and when we asked to be spoke to more politely she caught even more of an attitude and cancelled our reservation leaving us with no place to stay at 9pm. We are not from philly and she ruined the experience.
I accompanied my friend on his birthday to spend Friday night and Saturday in Philly. The city is the city, there was homeless people sleeping in front of the hotel, not the businesses fault. Good amenities and the room was clean. I am only leaving a 3 star because when I went to take a shower, the washcloth had curly black hairs all in it and there was a long womans hair in the shower itself
Positive: It was really nice and clean, the staff very polite let us leave the suitcases there after the checkout to continue exploring the city . And the breakfast was more than continental, loved it !! Negative: I didn¿t like that¿s you can hear from the room when somebody was walking or talking in between the room-elevator
The absolute friendliest & kindest staff, including the security gentleman, Ive ever experienced! Thats quite a statement seeing how Best Western staff is always top notch in my opinion. My issue was with the third party I reserved the room through, but the lady running the front desk was quite helpful & well aware of the time line the booking agency usually requires. As far as the room itself, everything was on point. Cleanliness has never been a concern with Best Western & their room have a pleasant scent to them if theres any scent at all. The location was easily found as well as convenient to a plethora of interesting areas, shops, & restaurants. Maps are avaliable at will with addresses & directions whenever requested & available as per staff knowledge.
The staff was absolutely fantastic especially Ms Felicia & the 3:30p-12a team. Gave tips on dining, parking, must see attractions, Best Western deals etc. The hotel was a little worn & could use a refresh( soiled & stained carpets both in the common areas & guest rooms, scuffed walls, ill fitting rusted fixtures in bathroom.) Breakfast offerings should in my opinion NOT include microwave items. Unappetizing once prepared. Other items yogurt hot/cold cereals fruit bars Juice coffee tea were good. Id prefer bagels cream cheese to the pancakes & sandwiches. Housekeeping was also very good. With some fresh paint & carpet their efforts would be even more evident. Lastly I think they need cameras in the elevators. Sadly guest are smoking 🚬 in them b4& after leaving their rooms. Some ride floors just to finish not to go outside & leave their cigarette butts in the elevator. I would however stay again because of the great staff.👍🏾
Spent the past weekend in Philadelphia and stayed at this BW location. I was there to watch the Chargers ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ beat the E-A-G-L-E-S. LolThe hotel location was excellent! The staff was amazing, especially Felicia. She was very welcoming and very thorough with the check in process. She also recommended some great dinner locations in the area.I am only giving 4 stars due to the out dated room, the malfunctioning AC unit and the shortage of food at breakfast.I would recommend this hotel solely on the staff and location. Keep in mind its an older buildings, but you wont be disappointed.
Off site Parking was anticipated, but when we called the hotel to ask a question regarding the instructions on the sign in front of the hotel and at the off site lot, the Night Clerk had no clue how to answer our question and told us to call the parking lot owner. REALLY?! The hotel was clean and rooms are equal to a typical large city accommodation. The bathroom was updated and nice. Plan to Uber to the front door as there is no valet service, no drop off lane and MAYBE? one loading space at the front door. Come on guys, you are a Best Western a brand that accommodates car travelers. Make the appropriate accommodations for a car travelers to at least check in and check out!
This is probably one of the worst hotels Ive stayed in. Booked a premium room with a view and got a view of an inner courtyard and could look into other peoples rooms. There was an UNFINISHED wall in the bathroom. It looked like the wooden headboard wasnt cleaned as there was a literal footprint and multiple handprints on it. The floor was pretty dirty as well and I ended up putting socks on after a shower to keep my feet clean. There are HUGE gaps between the door and the frame and light shines in during the night - a gap enough to make 2 young women uncomfortable. The sheets on the bed were made very haphazardly as the fitted sheet came off half the bed during the night, and I dont really toss and turn while sleeping. The other bed had a stain on the sheets. One of the power outlets stopped working after a phone had been plugged in for 10 minutes. The only good thing I can say about my one night stay here was the shower - it was modern and really great water pressure. Though after my shower I did notice there was no hair dryer, which is pretty commonplace in hotel rooms. Also, not many towels were provided even though I indicated 2 people in my booking. I dont plan on visiting this location again, and would not recommend it to anyone. Spend the extra ~ $30 and go somewhere better.
Although the room was spacious the floor had not been vacuumed and there were centipedes crawling from underneath the bed. Not one time during our stay did housekeeping come around to change linens, give fresh clean towels or vacuum. And the last night my boyfriend and I stayed the elevator broke and smelled of gasoline, which prompted the night manager to change our room because we couldnt get upstairs to our room. While this room looked pretty decent my boyfriend killed a roach in the bathroom. The parking situation is terrible. This hotel needs to train their staff on customer services and do a better job of disinfecting the rooms for guest.
Good location but the hotel could be cleaner. Our first room had hair in the bed and it smelled like feet. They gave us another room and the shower wasnt clean. They should use bleach. It doesnt look like they scrub the tub at all. Bed is comfortable and room was spacious
Overall, it was just barely ok. There are some things which I have no gripes about, and other things that were fairly significant problems. Here is my biggest problem, read this if nothing else:There is no parking. The website says that they have parking, and they half-claim to have parking even while checking in. They don’t. There is a sketchy looking parking lot like 3 blocks away near a dilapidated factory. An overnight stay at this lot will cost $22 (at least that is what their sign said while I was there). The hotel will tell you to go there, and there isn’t any sort of lot discount for being a hotel guest. I specifically picked this hotel because I wanted parking, and I feel lied to.Other issues include:The window in our room looked directly out to a wall. Also no natural light. The ice machine is way in the basement. Our lamp had a big stain on it right as you entered the room, gave a dirty vibe. The area right out front of the hotel is dirty and there is trash everywhere. The crack by the door was large enough that we could see light from the hallway all night.Someone jammed paper into the peephole on the door, which made me feel nervous. Some of the ok details are:The bathroom was pretty acceptable. The only flaw is that the light switches were in the bedroom. The bed was quite tolerable. The building generally felt clean and didn’t smell bad.Very do-able walk to Center City and China Town and Reading Terminal and Convention Center.
Introduction: I thought this was a nice hotel in a great area. It is downtown with some nice attractions near by but PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!! They charge a $100 deposit and you can only use a card with a chip.Welcome: The staff was very friendly, pleasant, and professional.Ambience: At first glance the lobby looks nice and clean. Again PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED!!Room: The elevator (to take me to my room) was tight. The carpet on the floors where the rooms are look old and dirty giving the appearance the cheap motels you see on television. The halls are narrow. The room we were in was horrible!! It was the size of a box, the “view” is a wall...literally! The closet is very small, no microwave in the room, no bag inside the ice container. The bathroom was nicest area but another small space! The Inconvenience: If you want to warm your food in the microwave you have to walk past the front desk and use a different elevator. The microwave is on the side but accessible to the public along with the coffee area. Sugar with a spoon is open.If you want ice (use your own container or cup) you have to go in the basement. The basement is scary and filled with hotel equipment, laundry items, maintenance items, and a vending machine with nothing in it.Bugs: When I went to the lobby to find out the cancellation policy (clearly I wasn’t staying here) I noticed a dead cockroach 🪳 on the floor near the computers.Cancellation: I was disappointed, upset, annoyed, and the adjectives can go on! I stayed one night and that was only because my mother is disabled would not have been able to handle all the transitioning (especially in the pouring rain) since she was already in the room. I had already paid. We checked out the first thing in the next morning!!! They credited my account about 3 days later for the nights I paid for (in advance) but didn’t stay. The deposit took an additional day.Price: DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE! It was $448 plus a deposit of $100. You have to use a card with a chip.Stars: Oh how I wish I could have not given any stars so I settled on the lowest amount that could be given. No way they should have as many stars as they do. It must be the owners family (that never stayed there) giving more than one star.I wish Google changes the stars so that customers can give 0 stars because some companies/businesses do not deserve any stars!!My advice...just don’t stay there! You’re better off staying with an annoying family member instead.
The hotel is nearly as dirty inside as the surrounding sidewalks. No parking nearby, you have to walk 2-3 blocks with your things. Once checked in, the elevators smell like smoke, the vents in the hallway are covered with bright, yellow dust. Inside your actual room, our furniture was broken and discolored and we realized we were put in a handicapable room, but we’re never given a heads up regarding the shower. The fire alarm was triggered at 1am both nights of our stay due to people smoking in their rooms and the staff made no effort to accommodate guests inconvenienced by the disruption. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, I will likely never book with a Best Western again.
Positive: The staff was super bent over backwards to make us comfortable thank you so much Negative: The hotel was very clean and the help was fantastic I think they could have extended the breakfast hours a little longer. the neighborhood was terrible lots of drug attic¿s and there was garbage all over the Neighborhood
The floors are dirty.Housekeeping doesnt do a good job. The staff down in the lobby call they self helping me when they were in the wrong. It was all a miscommunication between the staff. And it was not the best experience. Plus over priced for no reason. Definitely will not come back here again. Hilton chains are way better and cleaner.
This hotel was one of the worst hotels Ive ever been at. Believe the reviews. I checked in, browsed the room, which I did a quick run through, but I missed how dirty it was. The guy up front was extremely helpful and I dont fault him at all, but he showed me 5 rooms and all five of them were awful. The beds looked like they were used. Spots on the sheets and comforters, and hair in every single bed he showed me. I didnt even want to sit down in the chair in the room because I was so disgusted by the beds. I told myself to just make the best of it and Id check out the next day, but I couldnt stomach it. When I agreed to just stay in one of the rooms he showed me, I figured Id just spray it down with Lysol and keep my traveling clothes on, but when I took my mask off, there was a smell that immediately made me nauseous. Not to mention the weed thats overwhelming. I then just felt dirty and decided that I could not stay at that establishment. I didnt even sit down to eat my food. I stood up the entire time because I felt like even the Lysol couldnt resolve my issues. Needless to say, I left. I explained to the guy that I just couldnt stomach staying there especially with covid. Again, no fault of the guy of front because he tried everything to make accommodations for me. However, the hotel is just nasty and run down. Im not sure who and what they pay housekeeping, but they need to ask for their money back because clearly, housekeeping does not keep up with their house (hotel). If you want to waste your time and money (I lost money on parking) like I did, then book a stay with these people. If not, please find somewhere else. This is one of the most honest reviews youll read. I usually read reviews, but missed this one. Trust these reviews that are written. Theyre the truth.
I traveled from Dallas Texas Booked the hotel online and got to the counter and they asked for a deposit. I have 3 debit cards none of them have the chip feature so I was told I had to cancel.I arrived at 6:00pm I had a Uber ride from the airport to the hotel only to be turned away. I had cash that wasn’t acceptable, I had money on all cards that wasn’t the issue. They had tapeOn the swipe feature which means you can’t swipe is what the lady at the counter told me. The lady asked me to cancel and lie and say that I had a family emergency, when in reality I need a place to stay for the night.
I was given a room with windows that faced a corridor with other windows but no outside. The ice machine was broken. The shower was interesting the shower head was over 6ft above I at 56 could adjust it with out calling house keeping. They knocked for linens and the didnt replace them. When the room was cleaned I had to call down for towels 4 times and wait over 2hrs.
I wanted to provide some positive feedback about my experience at your hotel, Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center Hotel, on January 17, 2020. We were completely blown away by the hospitality of the staff during our stay. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out we were greeted with warm smiles and kindness. The staff was kind enough to upgrade our room without request. They were also kind enough to extend the breakfast for us on Saturday morning when we arrived a few minutes after closing. We were really pleasantly surprised by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. The rooms were also incredibly clean and spacious. The location of the property was excellent with relatively cheap parking available just two minutes away. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Its ok but I couldnt use the parking lot because.....get this the entrance bar was not working and the hotel attendant said no one could park there .its the weekend lots of people are coming to the hotel.its important to have the parking lot in working order .Another thing , the grab n go breakfast is a joke and there is no variety , the apple cranberry juice is horrible just have apple or orange juice , the basics. The view is just bad Im not even looking outside Im staring into either an abandoned hall way or its under construction .No natural sunlight. See photo for what I mean
Conveniently located to Temple University Hospital, 3.7 mi. First thing I noticed, garbage lined up outside building. Lobby was clean, staff pleasant. When I arrived on 3rd floor, it reeked of marijuana. My room (318) was dirty, carpets filthy, stains on sheets and walls. This was the worst hotel experience in my life! I felt like I let my family down, and wanted to run out of there. Room was non refundable, wife said only 1 night, lets deal with it. Please take my advice, spend 20-30 bucks more and stay elsewhere. What corporation accepts these standards? This was my most recent stay, Dec 27, 2020.
Terrible, very bad service. Staff very ignorant. I’m 19 years old and it was my birthday weekend. I’m a college student and I worked full time during the pandemic and wanted to treat myself to a hotel room for the weekend. After I made my reservation I called and spoke with staff and told them my age and asked if it would a problem at check in because I could just bring my mother. I had no problem with bringing her, but the woman I spoke with insured me that it would NOT be a problem and she would make a note. When I went all the way there ! the front desk manager was BEYOND disrespectful no sympathy, no type of sympathy that his co workers told me one thing and once I got down there it was a completely different story. He completely ruined my day, and completely inconvenienced me. I would never ever go back to this hotel or recommend it to anyone.
Horrible stay. House keeping did not do a good job the room smelled extremely bad when we came in. Floors are so filthy it looks like there’s bugs that run across. Hallways and elevator smell like marijuana. Everything is extremely small it feels like your locked in a room. No ventilation what so ever. We should seriously get a refund for this would never recommend to anyone
Staff was accommodating, location good, rooms clean... So why two stars? You are sleeping on an expressway. Noise never stopped. That was my first night. The second night I changed rooms to the back of the hotel only to wake up to a false alarm at 2AM. Room didnt have soap, didnt have cups for water or any other bathroom supplies... but I did have towels. Definitely stay in the back rooms and only if you get a wicked good deal. Oh... The breakfast was pretty decent... when the coffee canisters had coffee in them and when there were half and half creamers available. They are a 2 star hotel... Expect this going in.
This hotel is not very well kept. The bathroom in the lobby is gross. And when we got to our deluxe room. I was shocked at the size cause we ordered the deluxe and its incredibly small and doesnt even have a tub. And its dirty. This is a very visibly dirty hotel. The floor wasnt even vaccumed properly. I would never recommend this. Im highly disappointed
If you are a older couple, traveling solo, or a group of females this isnt the place to stay. This Hotel parking is a couple blocks away and its $22 a day to park. Front desk lady was short not friendly. But supervisor Alfonso made it better he was very helpful and he was Super Nice. The morning we were checking the Fire Alarm went off 3am. Due to someone smoking in their room.
There was no skyscraper view in this place, but rather a wall view outside the window. I didnt enjoy leaving the semi- comfort of the very tiny room, to warm my food in a public microwave located in the entrance level. The ice machine in the basement(smh) looking like a scary movie. The hallway carpet was dirty and looks warn out. There was a nasty little bug near the ice machine, that wasnt your neighborly spiderman. No thanks, especially for the price. The pleasant staff is the only reason for a star!
The location was decent because it was within walking distance of the tourist attractions like Independence Hall. However, the room was quite small, there were crumbs all behind the bed and a used paper towel behind the beside table, the shower took about 5 minutes to even be warm, and the walls are extremely thin. If you are looking for privacy, this is not the place to go. Hearing people play loud bass music in the morning on a Sunday, and hearing other...questionable sounds from other rooms was not an enjoyable experience. But, the absolute worst thing about this place was the parking. First of all, the lot is 2 blocks away from the place, which is not bad, but considering it was $22 dollars a night for self-park and $35-37 for valet, it could be a better price. That said, I asked the front desk attendant on the first night what the parking situation was and she basically had no idea and to ask the parking attendant but she thinks we should get in and out privileges, so we asked the attendant and he did not make any sense as to what the situation was, but we brushed it off and parked the car because it was so late and we were exhausted. I called the next day to ask again and I am not sure if it was the same woman working the front desk but she had no idea either. I ask her if we have to pay $22 every time we take the car out and she said no. So we go get the car the next night and have to pay the $22 dollars, which was fine. We get back and get another ticket from the booth and realize that yes, every time you want to take out your car, you would have to scan the parking ticket every time to get out, and you cannot get that parking ticket without going to pay the attendant. So no, you do not have in and out privileges. So, the last time we took the car out to leave, we go to get the car and the attendant said $44 (which is correct for 2 nights) if paying with card or $35 if paying with cash, which made absolutely NO sense. We had never heard of this exception from any employee, nor had we seen it on the parking sign that is located at the front of the hotel. It seemed like they were trying to swindle people. All in all, it was an eh experience. It was decent for a 3 night stay, but I would not stay there again.
Very friendly staff! The location was convenient to the places we wanted to visit this trip. This was our first trip to Philadelphia so this may be a back east thing but the walls were very thin. If you go and want a view ask for a room in the 5 or 6 floor. We had a view of the wall.
Positive: The motel was clean, overall except a large stain on the one comforter. Negative: We had a disturbing night. At 10:30pm, someone knocked on our door but when I got up, I didnt see anyone through the peep hole. It 1am, we were woken by the sound and lights flashing due to the fire alarm. There was no breakfast offered.
The entire staff was cheerful & helpful! Greeted by all during our stay. Hotel was very clean & welcoming. Loved our charming room on the 7th floor - Comfortable bed & pillows, soft towels, wonderful water pressure and beautiful local photographs on the walls. Tasty breakfast. Valet parking was quick and easy. Short walking distance to The Flower Show at the convention center.Elaine was especially cheerful & helpful, even on her last day... Wishing her a happy retirement!
Our room was on the third floor. They took a 50.00 deposit he said I case we burn down the building or set the alarms off.Ok... lol... but the room was ok. Like motel 6. Something you would grab if you were passing through town on the interstate.I do have to admit its a stinky room and the AC in wall smells.. I dont know if they cleaned it. We are so stuffy now after waking upRugs on floor are old and stinkyWont be back.....
Room was clean and cozy. The bathroom seemed newly renovated and was appreciated. One major off putting item was that all of the bathroom towels were dingy, grey and not clean looking. Very disappointing as Ive never seen that in any hotel Ive stayed in before. The public parking caught me off guard too, but hey, youre in the city of brotherly love. As a woman I felt safe walking back and forth from the hotel to my car. At night I walked with purpose and prepared myself to engage in any self defense as I would in any unfamiliar place or city. Great breakfast and a greater appreciation for the 3rd elevator in the rear of the corridor leading to the lobby. One suggestion, keep the coffee bar water hot throughout the day. 4 stars!!!
Unbelievably horrible and dangerous customer service! I came to check into my reservation, at about 1a.m, sat night, only to find out that I had to add an extra $100 to my card, cool! The very dismissive, and unhelpful desk clerk told me to go load more and come right back. I returned at 2:45am after finding a 24hr 7/11. Just to be told that the card had to have a chip, no swiping allowed. Hun? So I pressed the manual enter button, he reached over me, canceled the manual enter and told me I was u allowed to do so. So I offered him my card to do so, he said no. I asked him why did he not inform me of this, he ignored me so I asked, why, was he serious, and begin to inform him I live in New Jersey, have been drinking, and what am I supposed to do. After more silence I walked away, turned and asked for someones else to speak with he said no, jus him. Half way out the door, I asked him if I could do tap or Google pay, he said yea, sure. So your not sorry about anything, gave me no other options or if I didnt fish around for other options, you would have just let me leave. After I also watched him be very ignorantly dismissive, ignorant, aggressive and catch attitudes while turning 7 guest away. Than he was so rude and also got into a dispute with a customer after he dismissed the customer also so rudely. His name is Damon Damore
Most of the motels will be better, than that hotel and 4 times cheaper.1. Room size. So tiny, even considering premium room youll live in the room, that smaller than you could imagine. I lived in smaller than this only once in HK.2. Personnel - some of the personnel was really bad. Doesnt care about your problems at all.Beds in the room had some weird metal pieces. My wife hid a had with this thing and we had to stop bleeding.Personel said that they have no medical kit and cant help. Could only call for an emergency.3. Breakfast - it was ok for my 4 yo daughter, but cant close enough good for an adult.4. Not very clean, somewhere in the middle.I see management monitoring reviews. That a good sign,if you care about your hotel - please check your personnel first. You could have most of your personnel good, but some could break a whole impression.Medical Kit is a must-have thing in a hotel as any public place. The rooms could be cleaner, corners were cleaned never.
I could not have been more pleased. Room was clean and comfortable if small. Every member of staff was kind, helpful and several went the extra mile when I required special assistance. Breakfast was plentiful and restocked often. My only complaint is there is a need for more luggage carts. My daughter and I carried quite a load from our room as none were available. Thank you!!!
Very beautiful set up. It was clean and comfortable. Except the building was a bit old. and right on the highway. There was no near by parking. Despite the fact that I thought parking was included, as it said so in my reservation, I had to pay for separate parking a block away.
OVERALL STAY: The staff was super friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. Close to a lot of attractions. Only two issues: rooms are NOT very clean and COVID-19 precautions.ROOMS: The first room assigned looked as if no one had cleaned. The second room looked as if the bed was made, fridge clean, and bathroom was SPOT checked. The floor nasty. Didnt even take my socks off the entire stay. Shower, disgusting. I refused to shower there (thank goodness my house is an hour away). The safe was filled with trash.COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: With Covid they should take better cleaning measures to ensure the risk of spreading is cut. Even some staff members didnt wear masks, despite the multiple signs stating it was a requirement to enter the establishment. If guests are expected to follow this rule, staff members should also.I personally wouldnt not recommend but if you have no other choice at least you are ensured a bed.
Not happy with late check-out policy, Ive stay at other Best Western and it was never this inflexible. Maybe because of the Plus . The are ok but do not enforce the mask in the lobby of customers, there are no signs in the hallways or in the elevators and the rules and guidelines. Maybe its a PA thing in NY its every way. The Room was very good and the shower had good pressure. Wish parking wasnt an issue
The hotel has no Hot water lukewarm at best. There is trash on the Elevators There is no Complementary breakfast Homeless people in the lobby. People were yelling in the hallways all night and the fire alarm went off at 4am I would never stay here again, I would advise other people to not stay here as well.
Couldnt have chosen a better Hotel. The staff was amazing. They were friendly and helpful. Ms. Glenn the housekeeper went above and beyond, the room and the bathroom was very clean. I must say I never been to any hotel that changes the breakfast menu for hot food. The lady that worked the breakfast area was also friendly and she kept it very neat and clean. I will be back and I do recommend to stay there. Thank you for your hospitality.
We get there and they give us the room keys for the wrong room, and after trying to get in 3 different times and the person in the room is thankfully nice about it once he finally goes to see whats going on, the staff switches out room. The room wasnt clean and sheets were dirty, with what looked like pubes on them, so they gave us new sheets. Then we left housekeeping a tip anyways (even though we made our own bed) and when we got back they took the tip but didnt do ANYTHING with the room. After we left, they promised a refund within 48 hours, which after calling became 3-5 days, and a week later they keep giving me the run around on the phone and its disgusting. If you value your sanity do not stay at this hotel.
My flight was canceled, hotels were sold out near the airport...I was stranded in Philly! Fortunately I called this location and the staff were so friendly. I took the train downtown and with a 13 min walk, I thought the location was great. Breakfast was better than usual and I can’t get over just how personable everyone was from Devon who remembered me the next day to the kitchen staff, housekeeping, and manager. Room was clean and very comfortable too.
Nice hotel at a great price. I am coming from new York so fount the prices to be amazing. The rooms, and toilets were clean. They offer complimentary breakfast which was sumptuous. There was juice, milk, eggs, veggies, what not. Really ate hearty. They offer free wifi, but you have to enter a code they give you when you check in to the hotel, and remember the code, although only 6 digit longs is a pain. So youll probably have to back it up in your phone to avoid having to search for room key every time you want to log in. The key is written on the room key envelope. They also can hold your luggage for some time after you check out.
Worn out and beat up. VERY poor training which leads to poor inadequate service. The ice machine is in the basement alongside the only vending machine.... Which is empty. Its like theyre not even trying. Except for the clean remotes for the tv that only half the buttons work.
This was overall a good place to stay at. Parking is not so close to the hotel, but they have valet available. There are some good restaurants at walking distance from the hotel too. So that is nice. The staff was accommodating too. There could have been better variety for breakfast.
I have stayed in easily 300 plus hotels and with one exception this was the worst!!!! I wish I had photos. For a nearly empty hotel you would think they could give better rooms!Broken chairRed stains on the carpetDirty sheetsCold water for the showerAc was set to 86 and the room never cooled down.
The hotel was easy to find but the parking was very confusing. The people at the front desk in the morning seemed a little confused. They told us we paid for the valet when we retrieved the car then the valet had to come to my room to collect the money because we had to pay beforehand. Then the activities wouldnt turn on and it was super hot in the room. Maintenance was able to fix it before we returned from our event. Everything was very clean and checkout was quick and easy. They have a complimentary breakfast which was good as well.
Awful. Please don’t stay here. Location is close to downtown but not really a nice part of town. The parking lot that you have to pay for was sketchy. Smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Almost claustrophobic. There were bugs in bathroom. Live and dead. Flying around near the toilet and in the shower. Mold in shower. Other guests were blaring rap music and smoking marijuana just down the hall. Not a pleasant stay. Spend the extra $20 and find yourself a better room.
The room phone was not working. Was not repaired/checked even after complaints. There was a ton of noise from other rooms on the floor from 1-3 am on both nights. This was not looked into even after making complaints twice. Room was clean and breakfast was good as well. Poor services though
Clean rooms are by far the best features of this hotel. Rooms are definitely clean, comfortable and warm. Had no trouble sleeping. Breakfast is as expected from best western chains just simple continental breakfast on paper plates. Lobby is not fancy but neat enough. I did not like the smell of chlorine every time they mopped the floor. It is not in a great neighborhood but the convention center is located at a walking distance. My recommendation is that this hotel could help you save some cash if you are willing to sacrifice some amenities and luxuries of a hotel.
Its located about a 15 minute walk from most of the major tourist attractions. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. This hotel had one of the best climate control systems Ive seen in a personal room. (My wife likes it cold at night with the fan on and most hotel climate control systems will shut off after about 15 minutes, even before the temperature gets to where you want it. The room was as comfortable as we wanted it the whole time.) My only complaint is that it seems that the walls were very thin. We were constantly being woken up by doors being slammed. I dont know if all the doors were especially heavy or it was just the one leading into the stairwell next to our room, but it prevented us from sleeping well.
It was a very busy week day for hotel. They had there hands full with business folk as well as tourist families. Than add a bunch of concert goers in town for a large show.Hotel was clean all the time. They went above and beyond during free breakfast with even running out for milk quickly when ran out. I was impressed greatly with there staff. Rooms were also very clean.
The stay was very nice! The rooms are clean and very neat, however they are small. The staff was very helpful with the exception of the older woman at the check in desk. She moved like molasses in the dead of winter! The wifi sucked though! This location really needs an operational kitchen for the guess. The partnership with Four Points works well but it would be easier to stay there next time!
Clean, new rooms. A little small. Thin walls: heard neighbors. Dont get room near elevator, loud all night, doors slamming. Great beds and pillows. Dont use rear elevator: Slowest in world. Breakfast is not good. Walk over to Foo Kitchen half block over instead and pay for some real food and strong coffee. (I was back there in Nov. 2020, Foo kitchen is now closed. Breakfast got better at hotel though!😀)
The people are so nice. From the front desk, to the kitchen staff to housekeeping. Even management is super nice and friendly that you overlook minor issues. The lobby/Bar/Breakfast area is huge, new, clean and well kept. The only obvious negative is that there is no parking on site. They do offer valet or self parking services a few blocks away but if you are alone and leave your car unattended for a minute the Philadelphia police will slap a ticket on your car so fast your head will spin. The towels are sometimes dingy but if you complain they will change it. The breakfast menu alternates so if you are particular like me you will notice that some days are better than others. But when they offer waffles its a good day, and the waffle maker has a Best Western logo
I would like to start by commending the staff. Our beloved Eagles have just won the Superbowl, and Philly was in complete euphoria. That being said, every hotel in Philly was booked with potential parade goers. I had the unfortunate luck of booking too early before the actual parade date was officially announced and had to request an extension of my stay. While waiting for Booking to contact the front desk staff to make the change, I watched a young lady man the front desk by her lonesome. She was handling phones, conversing with incoming guests and never lost a step, broke a sweat, or became undone. Just a remarkable job of remaining poised and managing the business. She was very polite, smiled, and was able to help me with my situation. Overall Rating: Superb! A++This level of customer service didnt end there. The valet and hospitality staff all were very personable, remembering my name in some cases. There is complementary coffee, tea, and Hot Cocoa in the lobby and a nice bar with amazing bartenders. They were so cool, mixed it up with the guests; the drinks werent overpriced or watered down either. They made you feel very welcomed and had a group of strangers conversing and sharing stories. It was so amazing. Overall Rating: Superb A++The room was very spacious and modern. It came complete with a refrigerator, ironing board and iron, as well as a safe. The bed was incredibly comfy, and I am bummed I have to sleep in my bed tonight, and the shower had great pressure. Overall Rating: BThe location couldnt have been better, less than a 5-minute walk to the convention center and Reading Terminal Market, about 10 minutes away from the Art Museum and other sites in Center City. I love Philly, its such an awesome town, and I think I will be staying here whenever I come to town. Overall Rating: A+A few items that need improvement:Although the room was comfy, I did find quite a few hairs on one of the pillowcases. Also, in the shower, there was a used towel hanging up behind the door. So cleanliness could come up a bit. Overall Rating: BFurthermore, the bell on the elevator was extremely loud and disturbing. I was in a room right off the elevator, and I can hear the dings of every stop. Its also very slow when being a passenger. Overall Rating: D (get rid of that bell!) DING!!!!!!As it pertains to the air conditioning, it was hard keeping the room warm as the curtains that hang over the windows also trap the heat coming out of the vents.
Staryed multiple nights. The room wasnt cleaned over night. Smoke and mirrors each day. Theyd give the appearance of cleaning but they didnt. Towels and bedding are all worn and now are grey rather that white. In the middle of the night my room started to smell like cigarette smoke. I opened the door and someone was smoking indoors in the hallway. The lobby is misleading. Ive stayed in many Best Westerns in the past 12 months. This is likely near the bottom.
Location was pretty convenient. We were able to walk everywhere we needed. Our room was very spacious and fairly clean. Staff was very prompt and friendly. Unfortunately we were located near the elevator which was really loud. We had gone back to our room to rest up before going out for the evening (around 4-5pm). Staff began vacuuming the halls and kept hitting the walls/door, so we were unable to get much rest. It just seemed like an odd time of day for them to do that. The rooms must have very thin walls as we could hear everything going on throughout the night. Even my husband who is a very heavy sleeper had trouble sleeping that night due to noise. We did not request a different room since were only there overnight.
Hotel was clean; thats about all that I can say thats positive. Free breakfast was not good; the last day of our stay we deliberately paid to eat elsewhere. Air conditioner controls were wonky, and TV review worked intermittently. Location of hotel was not great, though it wasnt too far from Chinatown and other sights. Theres a Best Western Plus in Miami that we are quite fond of, but this one isnt up to snuff.
I would give zero star if I could. Hotel floor and carpets in common areas are old and dirty. My bed had no mattress pad, only a flimsy fitted bed sheet. I refused to stay in the room and asked for another room. Same thing. According to the person at the front desk, I dontt think we use mattress pads and we have only one housekeeper. And the elevator had a puddle in a corner that looked like pee. I checked out immediately, got myself another accomodation, asked for reimboursement and contacted Best Western. .... avoid at all costs .....
You can only self park your vehicle for $20 a night or valet for $35. Staff are friendly. The lobby is nice and well maintained. Breakfast room is tiny but serves its purpose. The room was a lot smaller than expected as well as the beds but served its purpose as well. Overall it wasnt too bad. The cleaning people in the morning though are a bit obnoxious and inconsiderate of guests staying at the hotel as they dont mind blaring their music while cleaning rooms.
One of the cheapest places I could find; definitely nothing fancy but free wifi and breakfast included. Room was small, but clean and staff was wonderful. Not much isolation in the walls and especially the door, so you might hear a lot of outside, neighbouring, and hall noises depending on the night. Breakfast was basic but fine - fruit, toast, bagels, eggs, cereal, waffles, coffee (coffee could use an upgrade). Also has luggage storage for the day. Now the only thing I want to add is that I was traveling as a single female and I was dropped by my uber right at the door around midnight, so it was fine but I would have not felt safe walking in that area after dark - I felt uncomfortable even in the daytime, even though it is only a block or two from the city centre and attractions.
Rooms and property clean. rates are decent. however, its about 10 minutes extra walking to get to anywhere good for food, drink, or any type of transit than you would be making if you stayed at another hotel closer to the convention center.room was absolutely freezing and no one seemed to know what to do about it or how to fix it.wifi did not work the entire time i was there (3 nights)room service kept leaving me with my dirty towels and taking the clean ones out of the room for whatever the reason.you can do better and be closer with other hotels in the area.
No parking. The rooms were small. There was no views just of a building. The front desk was on her phone the whole time of the interaction and didnt provide information about the establishment untill asked. There was no parking lot and crowded streets so had to park further away.
Dirty!!!!!! First room had huge yellow & brown stains on sheets asked to get room changed next room had hair all over pillows and bedding 🤢 the bathroom was dirty as well. Lady at the front desk rude for no reason. Lots of loud noises could hear people yelling. Please stay elsewhere!!!!!!!
Booked a King room but didnt get till the 3rd try, Felicia at the Front Desk was great...the bad thing about this hotel is...they dont have any parking on site and its 2 blocks away and cost $22...breakfast is alright, the only reason Im giving a 5 star is because Felicia was the best
Fantastic, brand new hotel. I paid a very modest price and wasnt expecting much. The hotel is convenient to walking to most Philly attractions, but has a subway station nearby. The hotel is brand new an everything was so clean. The breakfast was nice, if you made it down in time to snag some bacon and eggs. There was a bar, gym, coffee/tea table, and a very friendly staff at the 24 hour desk. The room had no view, and wasnt large but was well equipped. Thin walls. Overall, a great place to stay.
One of the best hotel stays Ive ever had. The employees were the nicest workers Ive ever met in a hotel. They genuinely seemed to care that you had the best stay possible. The room was very nice, loved the walk-in shower. Everything was clean and very new. Would definitely stay again! A++
Check into the hotel was hassle free. The staff was also very courteous and professional. The room was very clean, organized and air conditioning was turned on. The bed is very comfortable I must say and breakfast was great. There is a fitness center and parking is good.
Breakfast was terrible, everything was microwaved and nothing was fresh. The valet took almost an hour to park us and there wasn’t any out front temp parking, so we had to wait in the road with our hazards on. They also tried to charge me 200 more than my online booking was. I also had to wait 30 minutes past check-in for them to clean a room. Worst best western I’ve ever stayed at. Won’t be coming back here again!
Reception staff pleasant and lobby area was bright and airy, our room was clean with nice decor. There is construction underway nextdoor just now and can be noisy early. Ask for a room away from elevator 3 as its bell rings very loudly every time the doors open and closes.
Clean, well maintained hotel with perfectly adequate, comfortable rooms. Very friendly and accommodating staff at the front desk and bar. All you need at the self service breakfast buffet too. The only thing letting it down is the disposable cups, plates, forks, straws etc. Whatever happened to decent delph and cutlery? Though I was told by management that they are awaiting the specific branding required for this franchise. Perfectly plausible. The location is conveniently situated near the town hall (approx 6 minutes walk). Philadelphia has so much to offer. I was impressed by its architecture and beautiful planting.Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a comfortable clean hotel, with friendly, helpful staff in a convenient location to the city center.
The hotel was wonderful, our only problem was that we were placed in a room next to an elevator that was frequently used during morning hours. This wasnt much of an issue, since we had planned on an early start to our day, and all the other rooms seemed very nice and quiet. All around great experience.
Front desk staff was some of the most friendly people I encountered. The room I was first assigned was not ready and the front desk promptly fixed it. The rooms are a bit small compared to the typical hotels, but it is clean. Only one elevator take you to the 7th floor and it is slow, and also went out of service by the end of my first night. 24 HR coffee and tea. The free breakfast seems standard. I love that this place is close to Chinatown.
Well managed and very clean I would always reserve with Beat Western. However I have a problem with the 50.00 hold I still havent received that money back an its going on 14 days reguardless the amount customers should receive our deposit within the time frameexplained at booking.
A HORRIBLE LOUD NIGHTThe area this hotel is in is very dirty with trash all over streets with messed up sidewalks and having to walk around scaffolding to get to the actual hotel from the parking lot around the corner, two blocks away. My husband checked into the hotel himself. (since there was no available parking at the hotel and I had to stay in the running car on the street) The front desk line was long and one of the things they were dealing with was double booking someones hotel room. What he saw was someone came in off the elevator, walked up to the desk and tell them when they went to their room someone elses things were already in the room they were just given. (The desk then took this customer in front of the line)When it was finally my husbands turn, after waiting a while, they barely gave any information as to where the parking was or that there was a cost. He had to go back and ask them for more information (parking is $22 per day by the way)The lobby was nice looking, the room was nice, but thats about it for the positives. We attended a concert that night, came back around midnight and attempted to go to sleep. Shortly after we laid down we heard a knock on our door. When we said who is it someone apologized and said wrong room. A few minutes later we heard a dog barking very loudly and aggressively. It went on for about 5 minutes, two separate times. (I did not know they allowed dogs?) Then the real fun began. All night long until about 5am people were arguing (what sounded like right outside our door) and carrying on with conversations. It happened at so many different times, we had no idea if they were all the same people or many guest being rowdy. We tried to call the front desk, but it was busy each time. We were too scared to go down and complain because of the aggressive nature of how the people were acting. So we just toughed it out.It was a horrible night. A horrible experience.DONT DO IT! DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL! There is no recourse for unruly behavior and the customer service checking out reflected that.
The room was nice, the lobby was nice, the parking was horrible, the people could be more nice. Two people from The Breakfast area pretty much yelled at me that it wasnt open yet. Its just a continental. There were eggs and cereal there. What real difference did it make. If its such a big deal rope It Off. The area outside was a little scary. Had to walk a few blocks to the parking lot. Lots of homeless people around. Most of the views were not good. One room was basically just looking at a wall outside. Nice enough if you just need a room. Once in the parking deck if you bought a day pass you could never get out without getting an attendant to come over and help.
I spent a weekend at this hotel in Philly with my family for my birthday vacation. Our overall experience was wonderful. The location was perfect, walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go, including Convention center, independence hall and etc. The room was very clean with everything we need. Breakfast offered a variety of options, even including vegetarian food which was awesome! Will definitely stay here again.
My husband and I are traveling across country in our car and staying in various hotels along the way. I should have done my due diligence and read the reviews before booking. While the lobby is clean, spacious and modern the rooms are in need of a serious housekeeping upgrade. The carpet in the room was filthy with stains. The bathroom and beds were clean but the Best Western guest guide was disgusting. The smell of cigarettes and pot was evident during the night so other guests apparently dont honor the no smoking policy..nor does it appear to be enforced. As we were checking out, one of the benches provided for people to sit on has a was of hair that had looked like it was cleaned out of a brush. We stay in BW a lot but this one is poorly managed.
I havent been to a Best Western in a long time, but this one was convientently located by the convention center in Philly. Parking for the hotel was about a block away which was inconvenient in the rain. It also was not included as part of the booking, so you had to pay extra. The rooms were well furnished and clean. They included the normal amenities; TV, desk, and a mini fridge. The shower was nice a hot. When we arrived, our room heater/air conditioner was not working and maintenance had to be called to fix it. The hotel has a bar in the lobby as well as a breakfast nook. Breakfast was included with the booking. Unfortunately, they were not able to keep up with the breakfast crowd and had run out of several choices (including the eggs and sausage). Overall this was an okay hotel for the price we booked it at, however I will most likely be staying elsewhere next time.
Stayed at this location for a girls trip and even though it is kind of small the hotel is really nice. Service at the front desk is so nice and very helpful they try to give the best food or event suggestions they can. Our hotel room it self was on the top floor and so clean never had any issues with the housekeeping staff ours was an older woman she was fun and always tried to help. Right next door is a club thats actually pretty popular called NOTO that we went to on a saturday it was packed for the most party and we had a good time; the location of the hotel isnt to far from other resturant and lounges you can either walk or just call an uber. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again.
Really enjoyed my stay in Philadelphia!! Although the room was small, the price was right. Did not have a view, but we were gone mist of the time, so it really didnt matter. Th BEST part was the staff. They could not have been more helpful. Eileen at the front desk was fantastic!!!! She just looked after us, so well. If I go back to Philly....I will definitely stay here. Thank you!!
We were saved by this amazing hotel. Last minute booking because our previous place was a horrible mess. John at front desk was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. All requests were met swiftly and graciously. Will definitely staying here in the future.
The hotel was good and the staff was very nice. The only downside is the shower water takes a min to get hot & the walls are thin so you can hear ppl. Side tip: wear slippers because the manger doesnt want you walking around in socks (safety reasons) & their ice cream in the lobby area is $4 (its Haagen Dazs so the size is the average price) and theres no pool.
The room was clean, but our window faced the adjacent building only a few feet away - which meant that there was effectively no natural light getting into the room. I know some hotels that communicate which rooms are like this and offer them at a no window reduced rate, wish it was more common
Incompetent and unprofessional staff other than red head manager who was doing her best. Sold our room to myself and my daughter, and apparently to another guest that walked in on my daughter while I was in lobby. When I mentioned this to the desk person she caught an attitude about it. Bar tender uncomfortably mimicking English guests that were there. Serious training and staff replacement needed.
The Hotel itself,is satisfactory-plus. Everything in the room, was in working order. And the room, appeared to be clean. The breakfast was a bit sparse, and the quality of the food, could be better. But,at least, its included;in the room rate. However,12th.&Vine Street,Overlooking the Vine Expressway;is NOT the most desirable place-to be in Philadelphia..
Clean room but not very spacious to walk next to bed. There’s no microwave in the room. Bathroom was really clean and had lot of lighting. Breakfast was fine. Biggest drawback here is they have no free parking. Parking is available for 22$ (self parking) and 37$ (valet parking) in the street behind the hotel. But have to walk a bit to reach there. It would be really nice if they had free parking. Room is pricey considering we have to pay separately for parking. Otherwise this was an ok stay and very close to Drexel university and hahneman hospital.
Typical hotel stay-- biggest complaint is definitely that the parking lot is two blocks away in an unattended lot and they communicate this to you by handing you a tiny map that is missing several streets and may have been drawn by a child. Was clean enough. Staff wasnt especially friendly but not rude either.
Good clean hotel. Very helpful staff. Recommend asking for rooms with a city skyline view if youre interested. Hot breakfast is good and they have coffee 24x7. Pretty accessible by walk to some city attractions. Recommend this hotel. PS: If youre there for a weekend, youll find parking a block or two away, so keep looking until you find a spot.
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for a conference. I had the worst customer service experience at this hotel. The hotel is new so it looks nice on the inside. However when we checked in they gave us a room with a defective heater. So we were without heat in that room for three nights, they sent an engineer to have it fixed but he never fixed it. It wasnt until after several complaints they decided to change our room stating that the heater is defective. Sleeping in the cold room lead to me getting sick because it was so freezing in that room. They changed our room from the second floor to the fourth floor. They gave us the keys to a room, when we opened the door that room was occupied with other people. We felt terrible that we were given keys to a room that was occupied. We called them stating that the room was occupied. We waited in the lobby with our luggage for about 30-45 minutes before they can find us an unccupied room, By this time, I had just about enough of this hotel so we had requested a refund. They stated they cant give us a refund and they can only offer us 20% off of one night. So I called corporate and filed a complaint. I will never stay at that hotel again and Im definitely not recommending that anyone stays there. They have horrible customer service and theyre not apologetic at all after all their wrong doings. We requested to speak to a manager they said the manager would be working at 7am the next day but when we asked to speak to her around 8am they said she wasnt in yet. This has been the worst hotel experience ever.
Very nice and clean hotel. All looks and feels new. They dont have parking on site as many other hotels in the area. However they have an arrangement with a parking company that has a lot about 2 blocks away. The walk back and forth to the parking lot at night doesnt feel safe. They have a valet service for $35ish if you want to be safe and dont walk by yourself at night. The parking fee is 22 if you park it. Other than that this place has a relatively good location, good breakfast and is clean.
Stayed here from Sept 13th - 16th for Keystone Comic ConThe room was clean. You can adjust the temperature of the room. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. The breakfast is very nice!Cheaper than the other hotels, but not as close to the convention center, but the walk to the convention center is not far.As for parking, I did not use the hotels parking service. I parked across the street.Would stay here again.
Location is great to China Town and All the attractions. No complaints at all. Cozy rooms, nice staff, very quiet weekend in the hotel on my visit. I will add night club is 100 ft from the hotel and a great lil carryout 125 feet away. Though noone can control the homeless and where they sleep...about 5 homeless ppl were right outftont the door as we went in and out the hotel the entire weekend.
I would have given my stay at this establishment 3-4 stars for its amenties and affordability, but buyer beware this hotel charges you for the deposit fee as well as hidden charges that may or may not apply to you. I was told at checkout that my security deposit would be returned to my account within a few days yet it hadnt and was also charged an extra $42 for a nights stay which shouldnt have applied to me as I had reserved my room through expedia (as told by the representative). I had called MULTIPLE times for weeks to only be put on hold for long period of times as I was constantly redirected to the operator/front desk. I successfully got in touch with a representative on the 3rd week and was told everything would be returned to my account in a few days. A whole month has passed and nothing happened. A horrible experience to ruin a vacation. I will NOT be returning to this establishment ever again. *Disclaimer: I left the room in perfect shape when I left with nothing broken or room service used.
Update: Just found out they put a 10 day hold for the incidental deposit. Other Hotels normally have it to where the money gets back on your card with 5 business days. This is the first hotel that holds it for 10 business days. Hotel says it is based on the bank but the bank blames the merchant. It is nice. We had a good stay. Breakfast could be better quality but they have plenty of food and plenty of options. Theres no microwave in the rooms but theres one in the lobby. Also we found out they turn off your Wi-Fi and the tv signal prior to checkout. We had to call them for a new code and to turn the signal to the tv back on. It was 7am when they shut it off. The lady at the front desk tried to pretend like she didnt know what happened.Parking is expensive so either park somewhere else or take the subway like we did so we wouldnt have to pay for parking.
This hotel was very convenient for the convention we went to over the weekend. The amenities are nice, the staff was friendly. The room was on the smaller side and the view was kinda awful from the room we were in because we faced the inside of the building.Overall would stay here again.
Meh.The hotel is clean and the staff was friendly. But first our room wasnt ready at 5pm, the second room on the third floor had a duct that channeled loud music from a club on the first floor, and the third room had a shower door put on backwards that allowed water to spray into the bathroom when entering the shower. And the parking was an extra $20 private parking.
The room is nice. The problem I had with the location was park. When I got there. There was a person park there not part of the hotel guest or anything. So i couldnt unload. The park alot was a bit difficult to find. They also mess up my reservation. Even though I had sign a piece of paper say how many night I was there for but only have me the for one night. Other then that. The staff was great.
Had a nice time during our stay at the Best Western. The view from our room was nothing spectacular but otherwise the hotel was clean, comfortable, a fair price, and a good location to be walking distance to a lot of great attractions.I didnt interact with many staff but Michael at the bar was wonderful, very engaging and friendly.
My only qualm with this place is that the heater was not working properly. Its disheartening to come back to a cold room in December when you left the heat on to warm it up. Other than that, its a nice hotel. The room was clean, it looked like it was newly remodeled. The staff is nice. They offer free bfast but I woke up too late for it.
I wouldnt recommend this place if youre use to hotels with high standards. As many others on here have experienced, we had no hot water in our room. After traveling to Philly and wanting to take a shower this was a big disappointment. Not to mention the shower wasnt exactly clean. When calling someone to come and fix it it took several attempts to maek that happen. We were then switched to another room which then didnt have any AC. Considering how hot it was on this weekend in June youd think theyd make sure all of the units were working. So for the dirty shower, no hot water, and no AC Ive taken 3 stars off my review. The staff was friendly but a friendly staff that tells you what you want to hear but provides subpar accomodation really means nothing. I know this will be met with a textbook, customer service response of were so sorry to hear that and well pass this to management but clearly thats not working and you should consider something else. I recommend people spend a little extra and stay elsewhere.
Here is what they can not change. Great location close to convention center. Small rooms with thin walls. Horrible view. Excellent water pressure in the shower, standard and decent, well stocked free breakfast. Functional fitness room that had free weights and the standsrs machines . Here is what they better not change. Spotless room. Over accommodating and kind staff. From the front desk to maintenance crew, they always greeted us with smiles. I hope they never lose the funny/ friendly bartender Oovie ( sorry friend I am sure I butchered your name) who gives you 1st hand restaurant tips, draws on a map the places you should and should not visit and pours a happy hour drink to the tip top of the rim. The housekeeper Shawn who happily gives you extra towels and also provided tips for seeing the city . Well done BW you are doing it right in Philly. Thanks for having us, if we ever come back to the city of brotherly love I know exactly where we will be staying .
We werent sure what to expect initially due to the construction around the hotel but inside was beautiful, up to date and modern looking. The staff was very accommodating and told us about the rewards program that was free and allowed us to check in early with no fee or anything.
Parking is definitely a problem for this place. We had to basically unload our stuff right on North 7th, and after a four-hour drive, we were not exactly ready to just jump out of the car with luggage in-hand and pass off the keys to our car. Travelers sometimes need that transition time when you first pull up to a hotel to gather your stuff, make sure everythings copacetic and what-not. The parking situation made check-in rather awkward. We stayed for one night so other than that, I really have no other complaints. Very close to some great music venues and other cultural attractions. A good, central location to be within the city of Philadelphia.
Not impressed. This is the most expensive Best Western I have stayed in, and it is at the bottom of my lists to stay in. Off sight parking is expensive, $22 for self park, $37 for valet. The room is small, noisy, not maintained and has a view of an unfinished wall from the window. I will not stay here again.
Staff was very friendly and the lobby was modern and pleasant. The room was just a little bit different. Oddly configured, not quiet, and no shelf in the shower for soap, and while it was clean, it was definitely worn. I would not call this one of Philadelphias nicer hotels, but it did the job.
Room was well kept but a bit small. Fairly close (8ish blocks) to downtown and 18ish blocks to a lot of tourist attractions. The surroundings of the hotel leave plenty to be desired though; very run down part of the city. The people in the area seem plenty fine, but this may catch you off guard after looking at how relatively new/nice the inside of the Hotel is. Parking is 3 blocks away so if you have a lot of belongings you may want to just park on the street out front and bring them inside and then go park the car (or valet seems an option).
Thank you guys so much for a wonderful stay. I stayed in a double bedroom with four people and everything was taken care of thank you for bringing the extra towels, and looking forward to your breakfast in the morning is great , its great waking up to a full breakfast including an awesome waffle maker that you can make your own waffles in! fruit yogurt cereal eggs turkey bacon potatoes waffles yogurt ,wow what a breakfast! Most hotels give you a muffin and some juice and call it a breakfast included. The bathrooms were very clean there was no dirt or hair left in the showers. all the rooms are very modern, the business center downstairs comes in handy if no one brings a smartphone. Theres also a plug for a laptop in the room . Free Wi-Fi password is available upon request parking for $27 is around the corner
Worst place to stay, and get charge $500 for a broken tv that was already broken, and stay for 5 nights with no room service, cause of this hotel I will no longer stay at any best western hotel, SO GUYS IF U GUYS ARE LOOKING to stay here check the whole place for broken items, or better yet just don’t stay there, WORST PLACE EVER,
This place seriously needs some work. While the hotel staff are friendly, the quality of the hotel in respect to the price that guest pay is inequivalent. During my weekend stay, I experienced a shower without hot water as well as a broken air conditioning unit. When requesting to fix the problem directly to management, my request were ignored. This is not a location I would recommend for first time guest of the city to stay.
Had great day in Philly at zoo! Then went to our best Western in late afternoon where we were able to walk to Reading Terminal Market for some great food! After going back to hotel went to Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary! Hotel is easy on and off interstate and had a wonderful continental breakfast with large selection of breakfast food hot and cold! You do have to park around the block for a fee, but they offer valet parking for cple dollars more if you dont want the hassle of walking through city. Every place we ever stayed in Philly you pretty much end up paying for parking so we expect it. This hotel is right in city and is easy access to just about any site seeing you would want to do in city and was clean with nice staff!!
The only thing good about this hotel is the location. We drove in around 11:30 and tried to check in early. The lady said the check in is at 3 pm. In over 30 countries, I was never denied early check in. She then told us to check back at 12:30 but we already made lunch plans. We essentially came back at 2:30 and asked to check in again. The lady rudely told us the check in is at 3. We were 30 min from the time and she still told us we did not have a room. Its not like they were all full. We received some awful customer service then. We finally came back at 6 and got our room. We were right next to the elevators that beep all night when people use them from any floor. The breakfast was bad with most things gone at 8:30. Its cramped area and poorly laid out. The room has no HBO where we were just in Holiday Express with 6 HBO channels. The room also had just shower and no bath tub. Needless to say that this is the worst Best Western I have ever stayed at and will not be returning again.
Rooms are average. Over all not bad at all. Just no where is it written that there is no parking here and if you do bring a vehicle it will cost $22.00 to park and you must park 5 blocks away and carry all your luggage to the room, or pay $37.00 for valet they offer that is never there.
It has good use of the small spaces that use. Its clean and neat and has the feeling of a hotel on the Seinfeld show. You step out front and see the Philadelphia skyline. Not the biggest hotel in the world, but it has a lot of character. Enjoyed the full breakfast. Less pricey, but it doesnt have the perks of a more expensive hotel.
One of the best and stunning hotel I have ever used during my holidays. Rooms are quite clean with great bathrooms. Their decor is extremely unique with exceptionally polite and helpful staff. We checked into midday and were greeted with an amazingly delicious lunch. I preferred their services to some of my friends who usually visit Philadelphia on their official tours and they were also happy with their services.now one thing for which i have had bad experience and arguments with some hotels is their bad internet connection but this hotel provides exceptional internet throughout their premises, whether it is your room, to the lounge to the gym, you can always access internet smoothly. Located at an exceptional location near all necessary worth visiting places. We checked out after days and are planning to come again in the coming months. Highly Recommended!! Would love to visit again!
Had to visit a friend down in Philadelphia and he recommended that I stayed here. Nice place... The receptionist was very pleasing and very accomodating, she deserve 10 stars. We were really happy that we got a room with a decent view. Breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed our stay here!
Its pretty ok, not too far from the convention center, some of the room layouts are a bit odd but its recently built or renovated so its easy to get a pass. Does seem like rooms can use more soundproofing but the overall hotel was quiet enough late at night it wasnt much of an issue.
Door to my room was inches from the elevator. Heard every word of people waiting to get on that painfully slow elevator. During the days the housekeeping staff was obnoxious; yelling down the hallways and being crass as if they were in their own homes. Instead this was at their place of employment. Breakfast was fine but inconsistent from morning to morning. I was one floor from the top, and I can only imagine how bad this next problem was on lower floors: the toilet. The toilet in my room would echo and create this sucking sound every time someone above me flushed their toilet. It was the worst. It was louder than when I flushed my toilet. It was louder than the shower. It was louder than the obnoxious house staff. It woke me up even. I even found myself googling “what is the difference between a BW and BW plus” from my room. Genuinely curious to know what this hotel had done to earn such an upgrade. I’ve stayed in BW hotels before (no plus, premier, etc) and they were very nice. Resort quality. This place was a disaster.
Great place to stay at a great value when compared to some of the hotels near by. The staff was friendly and nice. The only issue was with the location of the shower. In order to turn on the shower you must get in. This means you will get hit with cold water for a few seconds! However, this could just apply to the room I stayed in.
Room was the size of a shoe box. Call down to the front desk who said they call me back in a few minutes. Waited over a half-hour, no call. Went downstairs (rather upset) and was told rooms were still being cleaned and Id hear something soon. Half hour later and still nothing....

2022-05-04The staff were very accommodating, they opened the stairs for me so I wouldnt have to use the elevator. I have severe anxiety and panic disorder and I dont use elevators. The black woman working at the front desk was the friendliest person we met on our entire trip to Philadelphia. She even told the night staff to keep the stairs open for meThe shower was nice and hot, relaxing after a long day. The handle of the faucet came off when I was brushing my teeth, but I was able to put it back on. The bath towels were small, no windows in the room either. The room was clean and smelled ok. We didnt use the TV, so cant comment on that. There was no on site parking, we had to go to a metered parking lot and pay $30 to park overnight. Already knew to expect that because of reviews Id read beforehand. There was water and snacks available for purchase downstairs in the lobby.Overall, a good stay, and a very reasonable price. I want to thank the staff for accommodating me with my disability, it makes so much difference to me to be able to travel freely and not worry about using elevators. Thank you!

2022-05-24First impression was not good. We booked a room with 2 double beds for 1 night. The lady at the reception gave us keys to a room which was already occupied and with only 1 King size bed. We went back to let her know and her only response was your booking said 1 king size bedroom though. Even if that had not been a lie, which it was, we definitely didnt reserve any already occupied room as a complementary service. So, for the new room, we decided not to leave valuable personal belongings in our room in case there were other people that reserved complementary occupant service and got our room for it. The towels had an already used kind of smell. The breakfast option was limited. The only good thing I found was that it was close to the center city.

2022-03-29The stay and the entire experience was AMAZING from start to finish. The icing on the cake is their staff! They are just fabulous!! A special shoutout to Felicia who was at the reception. Her service was impeccable! She was warm, friendly, always ready to help and gave the best recommendations for places to eat and sight see during our visit!Bonus points for the great breakfast and 24X7 coffee availability.10/10 to this hotel and their staff! Cant wait to visit again and stay there again :)

2022-06-30The room was really gross!! I had read the reviews prior to booking and thought maybe this person was exaggerating. Well, they did not! The carpet smelled and was so gross that we put our shoes on to get up and go the bathroom in the middle of the night. The chair and ottoman has brown stuff smeared over the fabric. The room smelled like a skunk had sprayed it in. The bed was super lumpy. The AC unit rattled all night when it came on.They are under construction and are trying to improve. The construction workers came to work on a Sunday at 7am. Yeap 7am! The workers were banging and drilling something down the hall, but we could all hear it. Finally, we noticed Friday & Saturday night the door to the emergency stairs was propped open. This door lead outside to a back alley. We mentioned it to the front desk, but nothing was done about it. I was scary because anyone off the street could access our floor. The good news was the staff were all very nice and the food was fair. It was a typical hotel breakfast. The food was hot and cooked. In short, if you are okay with no frills, low standards, and loud noises that is convenient to downtown for under 300.00 per night, than this is the place for you. Next time, I will pay more and stay somewhere else.

2022-06-27On the surface everything looked updated and modern...until you really got in the room and paid attention! beds gave all of us backaches and you could see rust on bottom of the shower; holes and patch up jobs on doors. They only had 2 sets of towels when they knew that we had 3 people staying in the room. Breakfast was typical of hotel but many had to wait for eggs and sausage to be refilled. They charged over $300 for a one night stay. It was listed as 199/ night then they added on a deposit and taxes... not pleased. On top of that, theres no parking so had to pay an additional fee of $30 to secure my car a block from the hotel! I guess we got what we paid for??

2022-05-28Stayed for a show at the Franklin. The staff were great! Alonso (?) at the front desk was there in the evening when we checked in, still there after our show and then early the next morning! He was great! Nothing better than mac & cheese in the middle of the night! He was helpful funny and professional. We also had some help from Usaf, he brought us some extra bedding as soon as we called for it! Had a huge smile and great attitude. The hotel was clean and well stocked. Will stay here again! Thank you so very much.

2022-06-17Not the best location - doesn’t feel entirely safe, but it is convenient to the rest of the city. Friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms are spacious and the bed very comfortable. Would have liked to have decaf coffee available for breakfast.

2022-04-30The staff was the best. The room was clean in general but I did note quite a bit of mold on the room and closet ceilings. Other than that the breakfast was a nice touch to our stay. It is short walking distance from convenient stores and restaurants.

2021-12-17I stayed a night at this hotel, and most of the stay was reasonable. Unfortunately the pillows were so old and worn that they managed to be both too stiff, and too soft, at the same time. They were also incredibly lumpy. My partner and I were entirely incapable of sleeping on the beds because the pillows were so bad. Ultimately the biggest measure of a hotel is can I sleep here? For us the answer was no entirely because the pillows were that bad. They were the worst pillows Ive ever encountered anywhere. The other issue was the one ply ultra rough and cheap toilet paper. Better toilet paper is relatively cheap compared to the cost of the room. As two women this made our stay a bit uncomfortable as far as bathroom use went. Its a much smaller issue but was worth noting.Ultimately the rest was good, the shower was good, the bed was on the firmer side but comfortable, the HVAC unit was effective, and the room was clean and orderly. If the pillows were fixed and the toilet paper were better this would be a positive review, but unfortunately I cant give that review.
