Candlewood Suites Bensalem - Philadelphia Area, an IHG Hotel in Bensalem

I chose this hotel based on reviews of it and others in the area. My stay was for 8 days. The check in process was easy and the staff was always friendly. Having the kitchen in the room was convenient. The bed was very comfortable and the handicapped accessible bathroom was a plus. Definitely will stay there on future trips.
We found the Candlewood Suites to be very clean and comfortable. We like to book a suite when out if town so that we can make our own coffee and have some of our meals in-room. Candlewood provided a nice little kitchen, and enough room to relax a bit. The gym is better than average for a hotel, and it was pretty quiet around the property even though it was nearly full. We will choose this site again when visiting that area.
Long story short: A bad storm hit the Bensalem/NortheastPhiladelphia area on Friday evening. When I checked into the hotel, everything was fine. When I came back to my hotel I drove in the storm and discovered there was no power at the hotel. The Front Desk Staff for the night shift was most accommodating in providing blankets, flashlights and directions to get to the staircase. It was cold Friday night and not having any power - especially for heat made it worse and not having a warm shower in the morning made it even worse. I did not get to enjoy any of the amenities this hotel provided. So I cannot say that I had a pleasant stay. I did complete a questionnaire the hotel sent me regarding my stay, so they are aware of this and I expect them to reply to me and accommodate me in someway for those inconveniences - which I understand were not in their control. However, there was at least one other measure that they could’ve offered, but did not do so.
This hotel is wonderful. I am here with my husband, two others and three dogs. (This is a pet friendly hotel.) The hotel doesn’t have a whole lot of amenities, but they sure have enough of what you need. The front desk staff are wonderful too. The hotel is is very clean inside and out. There is no dog smell or any other smell anywhere. There is plenty of room to walk your dogs outside, and the area is clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This was the first time staying here I usually go to the Inn of Dove down the street but I wanted to try something different and I was so please with Candlewood Suite it was clean and bright the staff was very nice they had a super bowl screening in the lobby for everyone to watch and relax I thought was nice of them to have
My wife and I were staying in town for a wedding, and we were very thankful for being allowed to bring our dog with us. The room was very quiet and we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, we experienced a medical emergency with our dog, but not only were we afforded everything we needed to help her, but the staff was very personable and sympathetic when we discussed what happened with them. The proximity of the hotel to everything we needed was fantastic, and the room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean.
One of the nicest hotels I’ve been to. I own a timeshare that is affiliated with IHG hotels. I had planned a short trip to Philadelphia and wanted to experience this hotel. I was impressed by what was offered as far as the room size and amenities. It’s nice having a kitchen and living space separate from the bedroom. The suite is very spacious and provides guests the luxury of feeling at home. The hotel provides loaner items such as crockpots, games, hair irons, etc for guests to sign out and borrow. The gym is small but has the basic workout items. The guest services were fabulous! Very polite and helpful! I would highly recommend this establishment to short or long term work stays.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Hands down the worst hotel experience of my life. The room was infested with bedbugs. Woke up at 1:00am to bugs crawling all over the bed. Staff’s solution was new sheets, they couldn’t offer us another room because they were at capacity. Find another hotel at all cost, nothing is worth staying at this place.
When I checked into this hotel I informed the staff I was traveling with my husbands emotional support animals from when he medically discharged from the army. The staff member put me in a room that wasn’t supposed to have dogs in it then charged me a $150 pet fee even though I only stayed one night. The general manager apologized and took the charge off then added it back on after I left without informing me. The room itself wasn’t super clean either, there was a yellow spot on one of the bathroom towels (not sure how this was missed as it was on the part of the towel facing forward) and under both beds was very dusty.
The hotel was clean, smelt nice, and was very comfortable. I was in town for my girlfriend’s wedding so there was a bunch of us staying at the hotel. We all enjoyed our stay and being able to come and go from room to room was nice. Overall the stay was pleasant however my only complaint is with my check in. There was no one at the counter to check me in and while there was a sign saying singing doing laundry and a staff member would be with me shortly, the wait time was quite awhile. I even called the hotel to try to attract someone to the front and check me in but no one answered after letting it l ring and ring and ring. When I finally saw someone I asked if I could be checked in and was met with such an attitude from a Mr. Trudell George pointing to the sign telling me someone would be with me shortly. That I didn’t like at all but I knew I’d give a review and speak on it. Other than that encounter the hotel stay was really nice and I enjoyed myself and would stay there again as long as Mr. George isn’t the one checking me in.
The service and courteousness of the some of the staff has gone down considerably. We had to ask twice to get our room clean on day 8 and day 9 of our stay. They were cleaned very well on day 9 but I shouldnt have to ask. This property is very clean outside and in the common areas. They also have a good laundry room.
Stayed her for 5 nights with my husband and three children and our small dog while visiting family in the area. We had booked two rooms, one king room and one double queen room. I should have called to say we were traveling with a dog ahead of time. I only had put it in the notes at booking. Only the second floor is where the dogs can stay. We had a king on the third and two queens on the second. My three kids were not happy about the prospect of sharing the king, but Pete, the clerk at check in, quickly found them a rollaway. He was fantastic. The room was big with a great desk for doing work and a kitchen with all the essentials. The beds were very comfortable. I loved that unlike some of the other hotels nearby it is new. The gym was great as well as the laundry facilities. Loved the free coffee and they have all the essentials for sale in their small store. The area is quiet and safe. Wawa and Dunkin very close by as well as a supermarket. Very conveniently located off the turnpike and street road. I would definitely return again.
The hotel look super clean. From the lobby, elevators, and room, everything looked sparkling clean. It is very satisfying to find a clean hotel in Covid time. The beds were so comfortable and the room was equipped with kitchen and all necessary utensils to cook. I loved the size of the room and the bathroom.
We stayed at Candlewood Suites Bensalem PA while attending an Anniversary party in Levittown. The location was convenient minus the never ending crazy road construction. The facility appears to be a little older but it has been updated and is not suffering from age. The small kitchen was clean and well equipped. The sleeping area was a reasonable sized area and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and on the modern side. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. I felt the value I received for my money was excellent.I will definitely use this facility the next time we travel to the Levittown PA area.
Love this hotel. I will be going to Candlewood for now on with my travels. My family and I had a horrible experience at a neighboring hotel and needed to get out quick, Candelwood was up the road and suggested from the sold out Marriot. I contacted them in the middle of the night and they were able to get my family and I in a room asap. The room was super clean, they had every dish you could think of and pretty much a full kitchen which was awesome. Next time we’re bringing groceries and may whip something up for the staff because they were saw awesome. I also love they have a quiet policy after 10 which worked out well for my 1 year old. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will continue to use Candlewood for now on. THANK YOU!
I had a wonderful stay for the last three months. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The location is great as there are many restaurants and highway is immediately located near this facility. There is construction on the highway near this hotel which can be a little loud during the day for a night shift nurse like me but otherwise I found that the beds were very comfortable and it didn’t take me long to fall asleep. Shared public spaces were cleaned frequently.
Overall experience wasnt horrible but everyone looks forward to an on site complimentary breakfast in the mornings. My husband and I were disappointed. The bed was very comfortable and because the television was so far from the bed, it should be alittle bigger. You can hear guests in the neighboring rooms so I guess the walls are thin. We stayed overnight so it was tolerable but we wouldnt be able to deal with the noise for more than a night. I dont think well book here again but you never know. If they make the necessary changes anything is possible.
Front desk is excellent. Management has a long way to go. However management may be restricted by the cheap ownership. I really don’t think IHG cares about fixing some of the problems. The room was clean. The refrigerator operated excellent. The bathroom was very well stocked with soft towels and the pillows even smelled great. At least pick up the garbage left out in the halls. It smells. People don’t read tge tiny message on the back of the dirty paper key catd holder, or they don’t care. I didn’t have much garbage so I left it in the room for you to clean up. You’re not charging less than other hotels with suites and they are picking up the garbage. Your desk people have a great attitude and are friendly.
Over all everything was great, checking in with Rosa was a sweetheart and very informative. Was a bit worried about the previous reviews about the check in process but it went smoothly for us! Room was super clean and cozy to sleep in. Great location too next to a lot of places. We loved our stay and would stay again next time we are around the area!
We stayed because we were traveling with a dog. I thought the $75.00 non refundable fee was a bit excessive. The rooms were noisy, we could hear the activities of those above us. I really didnt care for the side door being propped open. The room did seem clean although the carpet could use a good shampoo. Over all it wasnt bad but I dont think that it would be my choice again.
I highly recommend Candlewood Suites in Bensalem for a complete, all accommodations stay. I was visiting my family for the first time since quarantine and this hotel was perfect. My daughter brought some food over and because of the fully equipped kitchen, we were set for breakfast for the week. The location was perfect too. It is right off Street Road and close to 95 and the Turnpike which made it easy to visit all the family. I have grown children and grandkids in Collegeville, PA. and my daughter and her family are in Yardley, PA. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
The Bensalem Candlewood Suites is the best one of all of the Candlewood Suites Ive ever stayed in around that area. The staff is GREAT. Sherry the general manager is awesome, because of covid-19 he hotel doesnt come in the rooms during quick stays, but the provide a laundry basket if you bring towels down they will provide new one. The hotel has a laundry facility thats free to guests. The pillows are to die for. 2 firm 2 soft on each bed. I also travel very far I love that they have a kitchen( stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, sink the hotel Supplies dishes and pots/pans )Wonderful room
Studio type room. Very clean upon our arrival. Microwave, coffee machine and fridge freezer with dishwasher. Super for what we needed as a couple on a 10 day trip to philadelphia. Shop within walking distance and restaurant approx 20min walk. (Some of the available pots and pans werent fully clean, that was the only negative point- we avoided their use)WiFi was good.
The hotel was in great location and out the way. One staff was great I can’t remember her name, but she had red hair she was nice and extremely nice to my children. Because of her I would return. The manager was not personable at all, I needed information and I never spoke to her she forwarded my information through email. That was so unprofessional. Other than that my stay was great!!
The Manager and her staff went out of their way to make our anniversary getaway special. From decorating out room to finding us a quiet floor on a very busy weekend, she created a welcoming and service oriented atmosphere. From room cleanliness to a cupboard full of necessary items, she and her friendly staff made our stay memorable. This is our first stay at Candlewood Suites and we are sure to come back.
Filthy rooms, rugs, elevators, halls, lobby. Same trash in elevator for 4 days. Always food containers in hallways. Covid rules posted but not enforced for staff or guests. Staff seldom covering nose and mouth. This property needs active qualified management. Kitchens poorly equipped. Dishwasher used for storage since there is no room for dishes in the cabinets. Spacious rooms.
This is one of the WORST hotels we have ever stayed at. After having our home renovated, our insurance agency placed us at this hotel. They were supposed to supply us with a handicap room for someone who is physically disabled and completely lied to us. Trying to work through that issue, the neighbors around us were beyond noisy, some of the items in the room were broken and more. The hallway constantly smelled like cigarettes and marijuana despite the multiple complaints we made to the front desk. Next, we struggled to have our room clean or be given the proper materials to clean it ourselves. We had to fight with staff just to get new bedding/towels, new supplies and the bathroom cleaned up. It was nightmare. Our Grandmother ended up not being able to sleep in the bed due to its height and had to sleep in a broken recliner. We asked multiple times to have the recliner fixed because of this and the staff and manager replied with well if you need a chair that bad, you can go out and buy one yourself. The manager continued to deny our requests for a new chair or room and we ended up having to buy our own after she kept falling out of the hotels chair. We couldnt risk her falling anymore than she was in the hotel. There is way more than this after 8 months in this dreaded place and I would/will never go back. It was such a nightmare. I would not suggest this place to anyone. Please stay anywhere else.
We visit the area often and stay at Candlewood Suites. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. This visit we had an issue with the neighbors and noise, one call to the front desk took care of the issue. Staff at the front desk were friendly and always greeted us when we entered or exited the property. I highly recommend this property.
My card was changed At 9am for the full stay yet they overbooked and I had a delay in checkin until 3 pm so what was the point is charging me before I even arrive . When I asked to speak to someone in charge I was told the manager is off the weekend ?????. I had 2 stays due to an error in their system it booked me separately for the same weekend . After being charged 100.00 extra for security and incidences in the room they told me the 2nd night would be another 100.00 even tho I was going to be in the same room! Makes no logical sense . No apology they speak like a robot repeating policy . This was my first and last stay I’m going back to Holiday Inn :) I also canceled the 2nd stay since they made our stay a difficult one .
Our stay at the Candlewood Suites in Bensalem was excellent. My wife, myself and our dog were forced from our house due to a plumbing problem issue. We quickly booked a suite for what we thought would be a short stay. It turned into almost two weeks but thanks to the staff everything went smoothly. Thanks especially to Sherry, Tamara, and Austin. Great customer service along with comfortable suites made everything excellent.
IHG needs to do better with their hiring staff. Called the night before and rang for about five mins for the front desk to actually be RUDE. Like why work in customer service if you dont like people. Came in no rooms were available. I was told staff starts at 10am to clean rooms, okay. 12pm, I asked is my room is available, I was told staff started 11:30am. When the whole time Ive heard a few girls come with rooms that were done. Another thing that was just purely unprofessional, was to have a dog on the hotel counter barking and growling at people, that is just not acceptable. I did not choose to stay at a bed and breakfast, this is part if IHG club. Just disgusted by the front desk and will take my money else where next time.
Love the ease of checking in, and out but I like to spend a little time with the front desk staff. Every person on the staff has been terrific! Including the room attendant staff. Always a smile and a greeting. The rooms are 10 steps up from all of the other upper scale lodging spots.
We booked this hotel while in the area for a wedding. The rooms were immaculately clean and inviting, as was the hotel lobby and outside grounds. I was impressed by the friendliness of the hotel staff when we checked in. However, the two men that worked on day 2 could use some coaching in their customer service skills. I went to the Candlewood Cupboard and got a few items, then to the front desk to ask them to add it to my room. Neither one of them acknowledged that I asked them a question or confirmed that theyd gotten it added. One was looking at his phone, and the other was on the computer. I asked again, and the man at the computer just looked at me like I was an idiot. I finally asked is that a yes? and he said yeah, I added it the first time you asked. I didnt care to pursue this any further so I just walked back to my room. That night, for some reason, the smoke detector went off in our room. We dont smoke and had returned from the wedding only three or four minutes prior to the alarm sounding. Not seeing any smoke and fearing that the alarm would dispatch the fire department, I went to the front desk to inform them that our smoke detector was activated, but not to contact the fire department, as there was nothing wrong and it was only our room - not the entire building. The nice young man called his manager for assistance and kept asking his employee if we were smoking. I dont know how many times I told him that we dont smoke and that we had arrived to the room only three minutes before the alarm went off. Finally, the manager had the gentleman turn off the alarm and we continued about our night.Aside from the poor customer service on day 2 and the alarm going off (which wasnt much of an issue for me), this was a great stay, and Ill stay there again the next time I have to be in the area.
Suites are spacious and comfortable. Laundry facilities are available. Covid protocols are lax and room hygiene is not at an appropriate standard. Hotel staff will provide cleaning chemistry and rags but be sure to confirm that you are provided cleaners versus air freshener. This property group was more focused on communicating what they will not do during the pandemic versus what they are doing to keep guests safe.
Overall great experience.. I wa a little hesitant because of the reviews about the staff. Is on the other side didn’t have an issue.. I have a thing with bathtub and hate clogged water and unfortunately that was the case in our room.. they can def add more than 3 towels and 1 soap. Would I stay here for the price?? I don’t think so.
What a terrible experience. Complacent staff mangwr wouldnt return my call or speak to me. Chatged 970 for four nights and my kid had to sleep on the floor. They didnt have the room I reserved and gave us 1 bes for 4 adults and a large dog. One cot that was too small for any of us charged me the full stay price upfront bwfore I arrived at checkin then said that if I cancelled I would still have to pay part of it and wouldnt be able to get the rest of the money back for uo to 7 days. The one mamchild at the front desk clearly didnt care. NEVER again.
I want to start by saying the hotel and one staff are great. I was a lead night auditor for a hotel for several years. I do know what to look for and what to expect at hotels. The room was immaculate only found one hair stuck to a wash cloth in the bathroom but it was one that got stuck when it was washed. I inspected the bed for any unwanted critters and was happy to see nothing and several layers of protection on the mattress. The housekeeper was rosa from the card in the room. A to rosa! The gentleman that checked me in i unfortunately didnt catch his name but he was super professional and nice. I enjoyed talking to him. The only issue I could come up with was the fact that when I attempted to call to book my stay for a bereavement rate nobody answered. I called 5 times so I was forced to book through a 3rd party at a higher rate. I know potential loss of sales due to not answering is never ok. But otherwise awesome hotel. Granted it is a new hotel so I would expect it to be.
I have stayed there at least 5 separate times. Every stay just seems to be better than the last. Each time its like they improve something even tho it didnt need it. The room is always neat clean and set up. Everything is exactly as mentioned online and the pictures are depicted perfectly. Whenever we need just a little over night get away this is our go to place.
Before I start, I am not the sort of person who leaves negative reviews; however, I have never in my life been treated more rude by the front desk. I just moved to the area from Washington, DC and had never even stayed at this location before. The woman behind the front desk, without knowing my name denied me access to reserve a room stating I had evidence of smoking in the rooms in the past? I have never even stayed at this location before, but I simply asked about the rate/incidental fee, even complimented the woman, and just to throw it in I dont look homeless or anything so Im just disgusted by this.
We stayed two nights in the area and I found a hotel to be excellent they have signs up that masks are required before entering all of the staff members I encountered had masks on as well as all guests staying at the property. I believe the elevators are supposed to be limited to one family per elevator although the signs are a little bit confusing as to the intent. We used the stairs mostly. Nothing great about the view from the room kind of overlooking a water drainage runoff area but the sitting area was comfortable everything in the kitchen and seem to be in good working order the room was very clean we felt safe and didn’t have much noise a little bit from people upstairs they may have had a younger child running around but it was quiet by the time I went to bed. If I was coming back to this area again I would definitely consider staying here it’s convenient lots of nearby places for groceries gas food etc..
I absolutely love Candlewood Suites! The entire hotel is very cleaned and very safe throughout the pandemic, and even before. The hotel staff has always been very friendly and extremely helpful. During each visit it literally take them less than ten minutes to get my registration confirmed and receive my room keys. Candlewood is my first choice if I were to stay at any hotel.
Be warned they won’t let you have a roomW/o a copy of your drivers license. Not just a hey we need to see it so we can verify you are who you are. They have no need for that. Stay at Hampton. 1 star for the good mattress. And one for them giving me back the copy when I asked for it at checkout. And yes the next night I went to the Hampton.
Overall, this was a very good hotel. The room was large, well appointed and clean. The bed was comfy and the towels were plush. Kitchen was fully stocked which was very nice. The staff and hotel manager were fantastic! My only complaint is that the room had a lingering smell of cigarette, despite the fact that the hotel is supposed to be smoke free. Fortunately, when I brought this to the attention of the front desk, they attempted to rectify the situation by deodorizing to the room. That helped somewhat but the faint odor of tobacco lingered. We kept a window cracked which helped and eventually became nose blind.Other than that, we had a great stay.
Pretty great hotel as far as rooms! I think the hotel is either fairly new, or newly remodeled? Either way, the rooms are amazing! The only thing that brought this place down a notch for me was that there seemed to always be a lingering smell of weed in the parking lot, and front lobby. Doesn’t exactly give off a welcoming vibe but oh well I guess!
We were pleasantly surprised at the full kitchen facilities and all of the many kitchen utensils etc. The room was very clean as was the bathroom and towels. The bed was very comfortable and clean and the pillows were also very soft and comfortable. It was a very quiet and calm atmosphere. We were able to get a really good value and price.
1st my biggest issue with the room was the mattress was far too soft. I did not address this with the hotel staff because of the circumstances around the C19 guidelines and the less then accommodating feel the evening host put off as well as one early morning host/front desk person. It was our second stay at this facility and the same 2 employees had the same attitudes before and during the C19 lockdown. Other then these issues I have liked all the Candlewood’s I have stayed in. This one as nice as it was on the inside had those things that our group found lacking.
This was our second time staying at this hotel and once again we were not disappointed. The property was very clean and staff very polite and helpful. I understand some things are beyond the staff’s control due to the current COVID-19 climate however, they went above and to ensure our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. I also enjoyed the close proximity to major highways.
I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff was courteous and took several steps to ensure our safety during the pandemic. Hand sanitizer was available throughout the hotel, and disinfectant was provided in the room. I loved this hotel and plan to stay here in the future, now they just need an electric vehicle charger and it will be perfect!
This was my first time staying at the Candlewood Suites. I was happy that the check in pens were sanitized. They also had sanitizer in the room. The room was beautiful, clean and nice. My only problem was that housekeeping came banging on the door at 10 am when check out is 11 and that the tub was slippery with no grips on the bottom and no bars.
I was very disappointed in this stay as an IHG Rewards member since 2013 and as a person celebrating my birthday. We were forced to take our own trash out as the hotel decided they would not pick up trash from the room or outside the room in the hallway (there was a sign in the room informing us of that decision). We were met with a sign on the refrigerator, which assumed all guest were thieves, therefore they created a list of what items removed from the room would cost ($25 for a bath towel, etc.). The frying pan was dirty and when taken downstairs for a replacement, I was given a new pan. Upon washing that pan and drying it with paper towel, black residue was still in the pan as new steel pans need to be tempered, which involves a washing with a combination of vinegar, baking soda and water BEFORE it is given to guest! And finally, when replacement towels were needed I had to take them to guest services and obtain new towels instead of them being brought to me. By the end of the stay, I felt like an employee of Candlewood Suites as opposed to being an IHG member!
My husband and I had a great weekend stay at Candlewood Suites. We drove in to celebrate his birthday and tour around the city. The location we stayed at was a perfect distance from all the busyness of the main strip but not too far from shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was polite, professional, and efficient. The room was exceptionally clean and we had everything we needed to sleep comfortably! We are looking forward to visiting this hotel again!
Other than a minor struggle to get bath towels and extra toilet paper they did a pretty good job. It was very clean and the room is more than adequate. It was convenient to the highway and two local attractions we were interested in. If I was in the area I would definitely consider this hotel again.
I stay here every time I need to be in Philadelphia. It is close to entertainment, food, grocery, shopping, and fun. The Staff is amazing, and the hotel clean as a whistle. There is a Casino 1/4 a mile away also horse racing. The unit is beautiful! Cudos to Sherri and her staff! Id stay nowhere else!
We stayed here in early Oct 2018. This hotel is well maintained. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the place was quiet. I love the room layout and having the apt size kitchen with the basics in dishes. It makes traveling so enjoyable. The room is furnished with 3 nice size drawers for clothing and open shelves beneath the TV - great for books or shoes or.... The bathroom also had some open shelves - which is helpful to keep things neat and organized, yet not easily forgotten when packing up for the next adventure. I appreciate the large closet for hanging clothes and putting suitcases aside. The in room laundry basket makes that nice home touch.Early in the morning, I got up and jogged/walked in the nearby neighborhood. Although we were not far from the expressway, the area was fairly quiet. If we have to come back to this area for my spouses work conferences, we will check here first for availability! Great location. Great facility! Come check it out!
The stay was very uncomfortable as the room was significantly smaller than viewed online. Also the staff was very unprofessional by not contacting me back, when inquired about an authorized as well as false charge on my account!!! Its a privately chained own hotel, so the follow-up for reporting an issues is not effective!!!! Even the hotel manager was super unprofessional have not returned a phone call back from February! This type of behavior should & is not acceptable in my eyes! I will never recommend anyone or stay myself at this chain of hotel again!!!! Very disappointed.
Very dirty floors. Used a white towel to clean the bathroom and kitchenette floor and it became black. Asked front counter twice for room service to clean floors and never got done. Even though it’s a “24hr” front desk after midnight crew sleeps in back room and won’t answer desk. Garbage hotel to say the least.
Extremely Clean rooms and organized! Easy to locate everything. Will definitely recommend and continue to stay at candlewood suites especially since the cleanliness of the rooms are consistent throughout each location in the area that weve been to. Only downfall is the staff are not the friendliest, some that we encounter are and then there are more not so friendly staff than others. The rooms are so nice and clean that the staff is not going to change my mind about choosing candlewood suites but it would make the stay better
I got this room for my aunt who flew in from out of town with her grandson. There were problems as early as checkin. The toilet did not flush and always clogged. She brought it to managements attention and they came twice to fix it but they never did. Her and her grandson had to use the lobby restrooms the entire time including the middle of the night. They had to sleep with windows open due to the smell in December! I called corporate and they said they would resolve the issue and call me back. They never fixed the problem or called back. They also never cleaned the room or changed towels over their 2 day stay. They had to take out their own trash. I was hosting a big event so they didn’t want to keep bothering me. Had I known the issues weren’t fixed after my call I would have moved them to another hotel.
Our first stay at a Candlewood Suites will certainly not be our last. My family had to find a place to stay due to a problem in our home. We checked in for what we expected would be a night or two. We were there for 12 nights. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. Special thanks goes out to Austin and Tamara.
Hotel is fairly new and in excellent condition. Was greeted by friendly professional staff upon check in. My stay was pleasant, room was comfortable, quite and clean. Good selection of tv channels and good Wi-Fi connection. Bathroom was clean and everything worked as it should. Everything appeared very well maintained. Definitely enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others.
Me and boyfriend stayed here for my birthday, great size room for the price. I suggest putting the dishes provided into cupboards, me and my boyfriend went looking for the cups found them in the dishwasher but as we opened the dish washer about 4-6 cockroaches came from inside of it.I immediately ran away and we left the room for most of the night to get away from it.
Hotel was very nice, after all the front desk guy was very ignorant. Named “Trudall” so called manager. Not the only person who thinks he is ignorant I talked to other travelers there. he ruined the place... honestly.. I hope they find new management everyone else there very nice.
Its not a bad hotel. My room was a lot smaller than the other rooms my company usually finds for me. They have almost no amenities. No pool. No hot tub. No kitchen. No breakfast. No basket of goodies to welcome you on your first night. No little get together for the people staying there on weeknights like some other places Ive stayed. Theres a little store in the lobby with some essentials that are pretty reasonably priced. There is no dresser. Just a couple of small drawers. Comfy beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Housekeeping only comes once a week, which is pretty sparse, considering the size of the trash cans and how much toilet paper and towels I was supplied with. They also didnt tell me that they would only be cleaning my room once a week. I finally asked after the 3rd day. Might have been a little more well received if it had been posted in my room somewhere with all the other postings. A little noisy from the streets outside and its in a really ugly area. The fitness center is tiny, but I liked that the laundry room is free and they give you a full sized laundry basket in your room. If I go to Philly again for work, I will probably ask for a different hotel just because that was a tiny room to live in for 2 whole weeks.
The customer service I received from Shivon was amazing. Only a few hiccups but she was a true professional and helped keep my stay on track and went above and beyond. My room was amazing. Spacious and comfortable room and bedroom. The bathroom was very nice had great amenities and the best towels. Definitely would stay here again!
Took my fiancée here for a weekend retreat from busy lives and wedding planning. It was close enough to street road for restaurants and very accommodating for travel The bathroom was great but the shower was a little uncomfortable as I have larger feet but my fiancée found it comfortable
I have stayed at a nearby hotel on several previous occasions. I had planned on staying there again, but rooms were unavailable. I switched to this hotel, and loved it. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quiet. Everything went well. Thanks again.
Room was clean, beds comfortable, free coffee in lobby was good. I was surprised that for a newer hotel they did not have any USB ports for charging phones. Unfortunately we had to call the front desk twice due to noisy people above us. Sign in lobby states quiet time starts at 10:00pm, we had to call at 10:30pm and again at 11:15pm. When we finally went to sleep the beds were thankfully comfortable.
We chose this hotel over other properties for 2 reasons - They accept IGH reward points and closeness to Sesame Place. The rooms are spacious for families and are very clean. There is construction work going on nearby on the highway, which is not a very big deal. The staff is extremely helpful and there is free coffee, beverage service 24/7. Will stay here again for sure.
During a stress filled week, I was looking forward to this hotel after viewing it online. I was only mildly happy by the end of our stay. I booked an accessible room online (the last one available) and once we checked in, we did not get a HC room. I returned to the front desk to ask about it. I was told that the reservation came thru as a regular room and there was nothing they could do about it. Too bad, so sad. My daughter uses a wheelchair, so it was challenging, but not impossible. An accessible room would have been better. The room was pretty good otherwise. Roomy, lots of surfaces. Bathroom could have been cleaner and the iron was covered it some goop that made ironing very difficult. The TV system sucks. Very hard to find what you want to watch... scrolling menus are very 1990s. And mind-numbing.Didnt really use the kitchen this time, as we were there only one night. We loved the towels and bedding and had a comfy nights sleep. The Cupboard is a nice touch, but the pricing sent us to Wawa for supplies instead. The outdoor seating and grilling area are literally in the parking lot and not really relaxing. While not their fault, the views are awful... think cell towers, electrical towers and water towers.... seriously. Also a glut of road construction currently has the hotel rather cut off. I had high hopes for this place... left with more of a meh feeling.
Room is nice. The electric burners didnt work. We called they said maintenance wouldnt be in until The next day so the person at the desk came up. A little rude. He said they were out of rooms & he couldnt move us. We told him we had food that we brought to cook so we didnt have to leave the room for mothers day weekend. He apologized & said it was nothing he could do because they were booked. So we ended up going out to spend more money to buy fast food. Would I come here again hell no.
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a week due to construction being done in our house. The front desk employee at check in was very nice and really tried to accommodate us based on our length of stay. We were really disappointed when we found out that there would be no housekeeping service during our entire stay unless we paid an additional fee and we had to bring down our linens in order to get fresh ones. I probably would not have booked if I had known this prior. I felt like for the price I paid I could have gotten these services plus more somewhere just as nice. Overall it is a nice hotel, and the employees were very nice and helpful.
I love staying at hotels when the property is taking care of properly, and Candlewood is it!! They were accommodating to my needs on a early check in! Check in was a breeze and the lobby was nice as well! Rooms are clean, love that there is a mini Kitchen. Beds are soo comfortable. I would definitely stay here again with my family!
If youre looking for a place to stay the night, whatever your reason, in an ever narrowing pool of options with all the horror story hotels, this is a good choice. I still check the room thoroughly before settling in but so far so good. Staff was awesome, and despite the construction detour and the appearance of outside surroundings, its a quiet, clean, and comfortable place to stay.
I found this hotel by accident through a Google search - it is tucked away behind Street Road and can’t be seen from the highway - which made it feel remote though it was easy to get to. I couldn’t have been more pleased to walk into a lobby fully decorated for the holidays with a fireplace blazing on the big screen and complimentary hot chocolate and choice of marshmallows and cookies. The room was perfect in terms of space, full refrigerator, burner, pots, dishes, etc. with a big island with several electrical outlets, suitable for two people to set up workstations. The whole building is nonsmoking. The staff was very friendly.
This is a well appointed, well thought out room! I was impressed by how many extra little comforts they provided! Things that most hotels do not think of! The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because it’s situated very close to the highway and the trucks are extremely loud and make it difficult to sleep if you are a light sleeper. Bring earplugs! Once I got my earplugs in and my white noise machine on I was able to sleep through the night but the first night was extremely difficult. Also, it would be nice to have a suitcase rack. I had to use the room on my desk to leave my suitcase because there was really no where else to put it other than the floor. Two more things to think of: you do get a full-size dishwasher which is great, but only two of each dish, glass and silverware. So even if you put every single thing in that dishwasher it’s still would only be 1/4 of the way full. I feel like it’s a big waste of energy not to mention who wants to run the dishwasher when you’re constantly needing the dishes. I ended up washing all my dishes by hand. Four of each would make a lot more sense and actually save water and soap. Other than that, the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and the free laundry was definitely a nice perk!!
Extremely Clean and Comfortable rooms! The outside and inside of this hotel is very pleasing and welcoming! The best part of the rooms is the Modern layout and design, its extremely welcoming and inviting, We love our stay every time! I Highly recommend Staying at this hotel, and when looking for future visits I will make sure to look for Candlewood suites!
Ive stayed here several times, business and pleasure, never have I had a problem. Its in a great location, quiet, many resturants and attractions nearby, very close to Sesame Place, and the units are like suites. There is a WAWA within walking distance, and Parx casino within 3 minutes. I just hope Im not talking myself out of a room. Its a fantastic place to stay and I would give it Five stars! I know everybody complains about something, but these people do their very best to make your stay,as nice as possible, give it a try!
We stayed at Candlewood Suites for our 30th Anniversary. The staff was aware of this and made our stay extra special by setting up the room with wine, a card and two swans made of towels with fake rose petals on the bed. Very nice!! Overall the hotel was awesome and the suite was immaculate. The staff was helpful and very professional. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great stay!!
The hotel is so new, it still had that new smell. Everything was extremely clean and worked. The staff was friendly and helpful at all hours. The community cupboard area where you could check out extra appliances/cutlery/etc was so wonderful and useful. Having laundry included for free was also a nice touch. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and have no qualms about highly recommending this one!
This was our first time staying at candelwood suites. The entire hotel was very clean. The beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever had. The rooms were spacious. I liked the lending library where you could check things out. We took advantage by getting DVD player and movie. I loved the little recipe card at the front desk from one of the staff members. Although, the hotel was great the friendliness of the staff at front desk was lacking.
I was not provided the room type that was reserved. I reserved a studio king suite1 with a coach and chair since I will sleep on the chair or coach when my back hurts me. When I question the front desk clerk, he stated I had the room type I reserved. I stated its not the one shown on their web page. he made no effort to resolve the issue. I feel with close to 1,000,000 points with IHG I would have been accommodated. There are other hotel chains I could go to in the future and drop IHG forever. Im sure there will be no response to these comments. So I will say good bye in advance the the IHG group.
Hotel staff were pleasant. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed having 24 hour access to snacks and refreshments. Nice selection of toiletries. Liked having a kitchenette that included a full size refrigerator and microwave. Would definitely stay here again.
Upon my arrival, I was not offered any assistance with my luggage. I not only had to locate the luggage cart, I also had to load it and push it to my room. The staff member at the front desk was very pleasant and courteous; however, he never asked if I needed any assistance with my luggage. The staff also needs to be trained in how to handle combative situations...how to diffuse and not escalate them. My room was amazing; however, there is so much more to a great stay at a hotel, than an amazing room.
My husband and I were in town for one night for a concert at Parx Casino. We had to bring some work with us and were able to access outlets, free wifi, and a comfortable space to get our work done. Clean and comfortable room, with everything we needed for our stay. We did not need to use the kitchen but would definitely return with our family if we are in the area.
One of the best stays i ever had in a hotel. the cleans of the rooms was expectacular. The best part was the lending room it keep my daughter entertain with the games they have available. Also they have a BBQ and a table to spend an a nice afternnon there. Having a kitchen available in our room helps a lot to save money and time for breakfast time.
Would have rated much higher, however unfortunately this hotel is not prepared for emergency situations. I stayed with guests attending a formal event at a nearby hotel. We had an emergency with the elevator and the staff were not prepared to assist. The situation then turned combative with the rude and inappropriate front desk staff person and the general manager would not speak to the guests nor did she attempt to come back to the hotel to diffuse the situation. Actually it seemed as though the GMs conversation with the poorly trained staff member fueled the attitude and disrespect from the employee. My hotel stay and ratings would have been higher if it had not been for the poor management of the situation. Note to GM - Accidents happen - How you manage it (or lack thereof) makes a HUGE difference. People involved in the accident were made to feel like it was their fault and that we were left without any care from those in your hotel. Upon checkout there was no mention of the accident, no refunds discounts or apologies for the situation. Not a great example of great customer service.
Terrible Replusive Staff, Pick somewhere else! I was treated like I was being picked on. While waiting in the lobby I asked to use a restroom after a nights stay and was met with a No, they are all employee only for instance. Then was left to wait on a couch in front of the front desk staff not caring the least about my comfort during a small wait. There were two other employees next to the woman that told me no and neither this other man and woman made any effort to assist me as well. They just kept on talking amongst each other and swatted me away like an annoying pest or something. They couldnt have hired more cold personality repulsive front desk staff if they had tried. If I would ever be in the area again I would gladly stay anywhere else. Its ashame too because if they fixed that it could be a half decent place. Not worth it. 👎
When my husband and i just need a night away this is the hotel we choose to escape to. Its extremely nice and very clean , the staff is always friendly and helpfulll. The rooms have a full kitchen with all utensils. We love this place and for the price you cant beat it .
This is my second time staying at this hotel. The prices are beyond reasonable for the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. However, my favorite part is definitely the staff. Usually less expensive hotels come with subpar service, but everyone at this candlewood is beyond helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Not to mention the fact that the rooms are always exceptionally clean!
My husband and I stayed at Candlewood Suites Bensalem for a weekend getaway. By and large, we had an excellent experience. The property was well-kept, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Additionally, our room was comfortable and relaxing. Overall, we had a lovely experience at a great price.
This is our second time coming back to the area. Most of our Grandchildren live in the Levittown area. I know most of my review was all 10s, but that is because I have been extremely satisfied both times staying at Candlewood. I believe not enough people give the service industry any compliments and/or appropriate tips! I think a kind appreciative word about the job they are doing is worth more to a person than a tip! So people need to do BOTH! I just remembered on thing..A guide for that TV is needed. I didnt understand it even after calling down to the front desk.. No harm..We didnt go down there to watch TV. Thanks for all you do, and God Bless
I was a little downtrodden when I got there as my guy was delayed in getting there. After checking in, I took the elevator to my floor and lo and behold, the room was right as I stepped off. I opened the door and my jaw dropped. Inside was a gorgeous, clean huge room that I hadnt expected. The beds looked as though I could sink into them and get lost in the fluffy bedding. The living room was comfy looking and inviting. The kitchen looked like something out of a catalog. Nothing like a typical hotel room kitchen. The bathroom, oh, the bathroom, was a sight of gloriousness. The toiletries were lined up on the wall, ready for use. But, these were not ordinary toiletries. They were more sophisticated and smelled so much better than normal hotel shampoo and conditioner. I was in Heaven. I fell asleep, surrounded by that heavenly blanket, feeling wrapped in luxury. It was the best nights sleep I have had in years. My guy got there the next morning and was just as blown away by the room as I was. We both made a decision that any time we stay in this area, we are going straight to the Candlewood Inn
For our purposes the hotel was very convenient and much much better than the one we stayed at last time right down the road. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is fairly new and I hope it will be kept up the bed was comfortable and the mini kitchen was very nice. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was easy to get in and out and a nice Wawa down the road.
My wife booked this place for a 1 night stay after spending all day at Sesame Place. We arrived and the front desk said they had upgraded us to a Suite. We get to the room and I have to say it was very nice. Basically looked like a 1br apartment in a fancy new building. Nothing to complain about really. 2 queen size beds and a futon in the living room with a separate recliner can easily sleep 6 adults. For a 1 night stay, it was excellent, but I can see why extended stay guests werent so happy. There really are no amenities and the view blah. As for things to eat around here, there plenty. Wawa is down the road, theres also a Dunkin, a 7-Eleven and other restaurants down the main road.
Our stay was wonderful. Were were looking for a stop over before heading back to the west coast, came across this beautiful new facility. The staff was so helpful on local tourist spots to see and they did not disappoint. The room was clean and the bed was new! ALSO, the only hotel that didnt include bed bugs!!!!
My first stay at Candlewood was a referral from a hotel that checked me out due to a private booking. This came at a very difficult time for me,I was in from Florida, staying an extended time, because my father was in hospice. I met Sherry the manager of Candlewood, she was very kind and sympathetic, checked me in right away, told me not to worry about a thing. It was really a relief. My father passed and I flew back and forth, making arrangements, never worrying about where I was staying,or for how long. After that I came for the birth of my grandson, family reunion,my birthday, always treated as a special guest. Treated as a friend. A present waited for me on my birthday, how could I not love this place. This time I went to Adventure aquarium,in New Jersey,Pumpkin Picking at Shady Brook Farms in Newtown, then to the Jersey Shore, like Ive said before, stay here its centrally located you can go anywhere easily, and not pay a fortune. The hotel is very clean, located close to good eating establishments even a casino. Why would I stay anywhere else, and still be near friends.
Hotel was clean, relatively new building so exterior still maturing in terms of landscaping, for me ,clean and safe are two main criteria staying anywhere and this hotel was good in both areas. Staff were good, responsive and friendly, parking easy. Room was well equipped for longer stay with small kitchen stocked with plates ,cups, cutlery, fridge and coffee machine, I would stay there again
I have lived in this Hotel for approx. 4 months long. Have encountered several problems during my stay. Hotel staff does not keep track of delivery items, They dont keep track it well. Room service is available once in a week, No trash drum/box available on each floor. You need to go all over outside of the building to dump it. Had unpleasant experience while check-out. Despite informing weeks ago about checkout time, they charged me for one more day, for staying 2 extra hours. Would not recommend this hotel for long stay. There are a couple of good options available nearby, Next time I would choose those.
I walked into a lobby with Halloween stuff all around. At the counter it said do not enter. Probably not the friendliest decor. The elevator was not working but they fixed it right away. The room was clean and comfortable. No cleaning of our room for 3 days and no breakfast.
The two items that I mentioned in the survey that were not10s were due to NO fault of the management or staff atCandlewood Bensalem. The most disturbing was the *noise*level in the mornings, caused by Dept. of Transportationduring highway and pipeline construction adjacent to thehotel property. This noise level was beyond the scope of the hotel staff to do anything about. The other item was the slippery bathtub in the shower when Ifirst used it. I went out and bought an anti-slip pad to alleviate any concerns I might have had regarding falling inthe tub. My suggestion to the manager to keep a couple ofthese pads for use by guests was well received and noted.Otherwise, Candlewood Bensalem was just a wonderful placeto stay, and I sincerely hope to stay there next year if Im able.Congratulations are due to the staff and management.Good job!!!!!
The hotel (lobby, gym, rooms) were very, very clean! The Staff was great especially Shivon! She was very attentive, understanding and sweet to our baby boy! She gave him one of the little Marakas which he loved and played with the whole time. We also needed to upgrade our room as we needed another bed and they made it happen after we already checked in..I would have given this place 5 stars if they would have had a pool tbh, as that was the only thing missing! Please build a pool..We would definitely come back to the hotel the next time we plan another trip to Sesame Place. Thanks for a cozy, calm and relaxing time.
Our room was dirty the employee slipped and told us we were not supposed to be put in that room smelled very bad so she gave us air freshener and fan and told us to check in with front desk next day if it still smelled the front desk lady came to room accused us of smoking kicked us out did not return the money for the nights we paid that we didnt stay and still took our $250 cash security deposit. So in total they took $516 for a smoking fee? We contacted customer service was told we would be contacted within 48 hours with a resolution and we have still not be contacted by anyway.
I really liked Candlewood, not just because of the great room, but the staff goes out of their way to make it feel like a home away from home. Almost anything you need is in their shop, from laundry detergent,to ice cream cones. I happened to be there at Halloween, they had cookies, candy, and decorations, that made me feel better about the fact that I was dealing with the end of life situation with a family member, and that they took the time to see how I felt, that was really nice. Being from the area years ago,I can personally say that this hotel is close to everything. From a center city train,to center city itself, many sights are easily within an hour. If you ar working ,you have a nice office and apartment all in one. Not to mention a Really wonderful staff.
The hotel was fine but the service was sub par. Even my 9 year old daughter was disenchanted by the extended wait at the empty front desk when we were trying to check in for over 10 mins. It took over a half hour to get my fire stick connected to the tv due to faulty plugs. Which cut into our movie time for our mother daughter weekend.
We were always greeted politely when entering or exiting the building. The beds are pillows were amazing, usually I wake up and my neck hurts, I slept like a baby. It was in a nice and quiet area and located close to the mall for shopping. Overall we had a blast and planning our next trip which will include Candlewood Suites.
Ive been staying at this Candlewood since it opened, and the service has been outstanding! Always neat and clean, when I was there on my Birthday a special surprise! Sherry is the Manager and keeps this hotel in tip top shape. Id highly reccomend it if you are traveling wheather it be to a sports event,Sesame Place,or to The outlets North for a day trip, its an excellent location, with many fine resturants,a casino within a mile, and cheesesteaks and soft pretzels close by,a true Philly experience, just outside of Philly.
Your website is misleading. I requested to have a suite with a separate sitting area and bedroom when i got there I received a standard room with not sitting area. i spoke with the attendant (who was really rude) and was told the only way to receive that room is to call to make the reservation. It doesnt say that on the website. I then asked the price to upgrade to the room I wanted and with very bad attitude was giving a higher price per night . I was there with a group of 4 who all had the very same experience as far as the room and the attendant . Overall the hotel was clean and nice but a bad attitude from a staff member will ruing your stay.
Since moving away from the local area, I have been staying at this hotel when I see my son or have a specialist doctor appointment scheduled In the area. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortably soft for my bad back. Throw in a friendly staff and it’s a win-win.
Very clean, neat, well provisioned room with good quality linens. Towels were not scratchy. Bed is relatively new, very comfortable. No bugs at all!Room smelled fresh, temp was perfectly chilled on arrival. Wall mounted thermostat allowed for easily controlling the room temperature at my convenience.Full sized refrigerator/freezer with functional built in ice maker. Full size dishwasher. Ability to cook in-room on a stovetop is very convenient and offers for more healthy options than restaurant food for extended stays. They have a small convenience market just of the lobby, and no restaurant insects the hotel.Housekeeping didnt attend my room during my stay, but thats by design. If I had needed anything its available from the front desk. Fresh coffee or tea is available as a complimentary offering 24x7 from the cantina downstairs, and tastes better than the coffee provided in-room.Overall, Im very pleased with this stay. I wish they had updated electrical ports for usb charging available at the desk/table in the room, or built into the lamps like Ive seen at other hotels, but thats are plenty of electrical outlets available.
While the hotel is newer and in a good location, the staff seems to be lacking in customer service skills and the rooms couldve been cleaner. Also, there may need to be security measures put into place to ensure that strangers are not allowed in the lobby asking guests for rides.
I stay here when I work in northeast Philadelphia, with probably 20 stays this past year. Without exception, the rooms are always clean. In my experience, the staff is friendly to an extent that goes above and beyond other hotels in the area. This place has truly felt like a second home.
I think this place is more of an apartment than a hotel, everything you could possibly need is here, including BBQ grills, and if you smoke, place out doors for that. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. You are close to Philadelphia International Airport, and about 70 minutes from Newark Liberty Airport, also close by is Septa Regional Transit, and connections to Amtrack. Sights are Sesame Place and many place to eat,my favorite being the Metro Diner, about 2 minutes away. I would avoid the city, and stay here its far nicer!
I have stayed in two Candlewood Suites, one in San Diego and one in Bensalem. They both where very clean, not only the guest room but also the lobby and hallways. We had a nice bed, desk area and a small kitchen--everything was in good condition. I have used the membership only wifi and it is fast and stable. When ever we travel we look for a Candlewood Suite to stay in.
My wife was the one that stayed there this time and her comment to me was, we could vacation here. Everything was in great condition. Only issue noted was the shower didnt drain properly and had standing water up her shins. She let the front desk know at check out (was only there 1 night). Desk assured her that it would get yet remedied immediately and my wife felt that it actually would yet fixed before the next question.
I dont think Ive ever given a hotel 5 stars, but this one deserves it. Everything was clean, in great condition, comfortable, beautiful, spacious. It was everything I needed and more. Great location to highway and restaurants. I will definitely stay at here again, an will look for other Candlewood Suites when I travel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:Rooms are nice; some of pictures and descriptions of the rooms do not match the actual rooms they have available; the front desk staff is nice, but the manager is very rude. I do not recommend.LONG DESCRIPTION:Do yourself a favor and find another hotel in the area. There are many to choose from, and youll have a better experience. There are some people who stay here with no issues, you will get frustrated at the lack of any type of assistance when trying to get things corrected.First of all, some of the pictures on the site do not match what is actually available. So you may think you are reserving a room that you actually cannot reserve at all. If this happens, you are out of luck and there is no recourse. I get it. I travel more than a lot and these things happen. Its a new hotel (the pictures are still wrong by the way). The problem was complete lack of empathy and rude staff. It was mostly the manager. The front desk staff was very friendly. I was consistently told that someone would call me back to address the issue, but I never received a single call after about 5 or 6 tries. Finally the corporate office put me on hold and called the manager directly and connected me.Even with the issue I tried again. This time I carefully read the description for each room and selected the one I wanted. When I arrived at the hotel, they switched room again and gave me an even smaller room that did not match the description at all. I ask the desk to move me to the room I had reserved and once again they said that I reserved the wrong room. I was told that I booked an accessible room so they switched me. I went back and looked at the description of the room I reserved and it made absolutely no mention of being an accessible room. So once again their website is displaying incorrect information on the room types. I asked to speak to someone and once again I was told I was going to get a call back from the manager. Well, its been two weeks and no one has called. Time to go somewhere else.
Horrible service, actually no service. The new policy is they dont provide cleaning service to their long term guests. They will provide me with the cleaning supplies but I have to do all the cleaning. I have to take towels n sheets to front desk n they will provide me clean ones. They truly provide no service in or to the room.
The staff here is wonderful and do try to accommodate your needs. this experience and fortunately was poor because of the accommodations were under guess that had a child. As I was traveling for work, I needed sleep and was staying five nights in this hotel. unfortunately the childs days and nights were mixed up and he seemed to like to run around yell and argue with his parents at all hours of the night waking me up and keeping me awake. by the third night of this I did turn around and mention to the staff again who said that theyd spoke to the guests and it was addressed however it was not, being unfamiliar with the area and the staff I didnt want to confront the guest alone so I just had poor sleep.
You can do your laundry for free as much as you want (gotta purchase or bring your own detergent). This was a lifesaver since I brought a carry on. The little store with food inside the hotel was awesomely stocked and had great food options. Overall this was the best hotel over
The hotel was clean yes! We initially booked two rooms (a ground floor handicap and a regular room) we cancelled the regular room a week before our stay but they still charged us both rooms and the person who took the call cancelled wrong room so we lost our ground floor room! We ended getting a smaller “handicap” room and at check out they charged us AGAIN! We called hotel because our account has now been charged over $1000 for a $300 stay and the manger hung up the phone! We will not be using this hotel again due to STAFF
The hotel and staff were very nice. I was upset they charged my card as they knew I wanted to pay cash. For a one night stay it was nice but if we were staying longer I would have changed hotels. We had an adjoining room and the people arrived late in the evening and were very loud.
We stayed at the Candlewood Suites for our wedding night and shortly after check out we noticed that we have left the top of our wedding cake in our room. We called the hotel back and they said they couldnt find our cake, despite us giving them precise details on where it was (room 405 on the table in a Target shopping bag). They did nothing to try and help us and we had to repeatedly call them for updates. We actually believe they either threw out our wedding cake and didnt take responsibility or just flat out ate it. So, disappointing. Based on their service/attitude I would not recommend to anyone.
Good, new hotel! Qualitative furniture, fresh bed, clean rooms! Everything was pleasant to us! But there is one BUT! In hotel at reception the name Sannon , her work is unacceptable in services industry!.She hasnt correctly specified date of departure (though we couple times specified date of check in and date of check out ), has couple times charge pet fee and nothing told us , disputed, wasnt friendly! She did mistakes and she doesnt wish to accept this mistakes! We consider that costumer servers has to be more friendly and organized in the work! Or not to work at all! Thanks to the MANAGER ! she has corrected her errors! All other workers were nice and friendly! and thank you for your complimentary laundry!
Did not receive the room we booked. Were told no security deposit but that was incorrect. When talked to customer service were told we would hear from the manager “shortly” which turned out to be never. I would avoid this hotel at all costs unless you want yourtrip to be a epic fail. Understand mistakes happen but staff should be able to answer questions when guests call ahead of time about deposit’s and other questions accurately. Having to pay a deposit is not an issue but when are ask and are told there are no additional holds it can be an issue. Hotels that want to keep customers at least try to rectify errors or at least return calls as promised but obviously this chain does not want loyal customers.
The hotel was directly beside the interstate and I was very concerned about noise from the interstate but I couldnt hear any noise from it inside my familys room. The room was well kept and clean. The only drawback to the experience was the front desk staff was curt with my wife as she got us checked in that night.
The staff at this location was super. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and there to help with any thing we needed. When they found out we were there celebrating my husbands birthday, they got a little gift bag together with drinks and chips and a card from the staff. Its the little things like this that leave a lasting impression on people. We will definitely be back for another weekend getaway!
The staff there should be fired .and I should sue the company for racist remarks. Rude.nasty.racist. its funny I give reviews of hotels for a living, parttime for Priceline ,Google, and booking. Com.its a shame hotel is gorgeous comfortable, just very comfortable. But 3 employees screwed it up...p.s I was in a wheelchair and still
We have tried to stayed exclusively at Candlewood Suites since first staying at one in San Diego. Everything again was perfect, the staff as always is amazing each one of them is friendly, helpful and willing to help you with everything, the room is big and you feel like its home. We will stay again.
The location is good, convenient between NY and Phia. Room is clean and the staff is friendly. The most thing I like was they offer free laundry - they have three washing machine and three driver. They dont offer breakfast, but they have fruits and snacks for sale at very low cost.
Very disappointed. Was excited to see a new hotel open up near Parx casino. I go often and have stayed in pretty much all of them over the years. I had reward points for being an IHG member so I booked the king studio suite on their website for this past Friday into Saturday. The pictures showed a nicely appointed 2 room studio suite with a separate king bedroom and living room/kitchen combination. It was more points than most other hotels but looked worth it.Staff was friendly and checked us in fast. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We got to the room and it was a simple king room with a kitchen area. The tv is off in the corner near the wall...you can barely see or hear it from the bed.I called downstairs about the mistake. They said the website photos are stock photos...and any 2 room suites they have, have people LIVING in them!I called corporate today...they said they are sorry...very unprofessional. They agreed the reservation showed a 2 room suite and I was not given that. Not a good way for a hotel to start.
At check in I was given a studio instead of the one bedroom suit that I had booked but when I noticed the problem when I got to the room Shawn made sure that I got the suit that I was suppose to have. Also the walls are paper thin. You can hear other gues talking and Also the guest above you can be heard walking around. I never stayed in a hotel where other guest can be heard talking or walking. You can also hear the traffic passinv by on the highway Other than that the hotel was clean with very polite staff. Was my first time staying at ine of IHG hotels . Not sure I will be back
This hotel you will not be disappointed everything u expected is what u expected except theres no breakfast and pool. The staff is nice but one of them staff should look more professional and look neat if this hotel neat so is the staff too.I really hope they add breakfast n pool in it we will stay there more oftens if we needed to stay there for reasons.
Only complaint would be a couple of suggestions. First staff should be able to give directions into hotel. After driving from NC we called and they were unable to tell us how to find hotel. There is a lot of construction in area. However, we were put on hold and drove around and found on our own. Exhausting after a long day of driving. Secondly, cupboard carried cereal but only sold ‘chocolate’ milk.
I choose this hotel bc it looked very nice online. I use Priceline all the time and have to say this was the worst experience . First the room I got was not the one I paid for and when I brought it up the front desk told me Priceline shouldn’t have offered me the room I had requested however I called Priceline to handle it and the hotel told Priceline they accommodated me in the correct room which was a lie. Then on my itinerary check out stated 12 pm when at 11 we were rudely told check out was at 11 and as I left I stopped to tell the front desk about the problem where I was brushed off again by a rude employee

2022-04-18Stayed 4 nights here and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Free coffee and tea 24 hours. On site laundry services and fitness center as well are an added plus. I had to give this location 5 stars because the rooms come with a fully loaded kitchen and for the price? You just cant beat it anywhere close to or in the city of Philly. The rooms are updated and really nice. In the bathrooms you can enjoy mounted scented bottles of body wash, shampoos and conditioner which are really luxury amenities. Ill be booking my next stay here for sure. Free parking as well. Dont hesitate to book your next stay here, you wont regret it

2022-07-05Loved it. Only issue is my stay was 5 days. People across the hall had a dog that barked consistently. They would be in the hallway talking standing at my door. Then housekeeping started slamming doors by 9:30 a.m.

2022-04-17This place is fantastic. I went to Philly for a wedding and needed a place to stay for a night and booked through Expedia. There is free parking and lots of it. I had a great experience from the time I walked in and checked in, to my entire stay. Front desk is staffed and super friendly. They have a nice little lobby area you can chill in if youd like. They have an area with snacks and free coffee and the gym is a decent size. There is also laundry onsite. The suite I stayed in on the 5th floor was great. King size bed soooo comfy. Nice little work space area and the shower and tub was CLEAN with great amenities and great water pressure. Absolutely loved the bathroom, I cant lie. Nice little kitchenette with working clean appliances. Ill def stay here again if Im in the Bensalem philly area. Idk what people were talking about in the bad reviews.

2022-02-13Hotel was clean and tidy, but the smell of air freshener in the room was sickening. Literally kept me up half the night. In the morning I noticed that there was a plug in air freshener, once unplugged and the room aired out the next three days were fine...

2022-02-08Booked 13 days. Was told they only clean room once every 7 days and you need to exchange your own towels and take out your trash. I voiced my concerns about the 7b day cleaning rule and was told Its because we super clean the rooms....... Lets call it what it is its because we save money with less staff. The room was just average cleanliness. Refrigerator was half wiped, and cleaner drip stains on the bathroom light bar. No breakfast provided so again no frills lets make a money grab....The Manger responded with This is because we are an extended stay hotel and want to give our guest privacy.I say we are a hotel that wants to maximize profit and to forget it if you want service,

2022-05-24Awful customer service by management. Employee was not helpful at all with issues I had with my room. I asked if my fiancé and I could switch rooms and the word came down from management was that we could checkout of their hotel and we would still be charged for there remainder of days that we paid for due to prepayment and the is no other assistance they could help us with. Unfortunately we just stayed the week before and had a good experience and this is what we were welcomed back to. Highly disappointed.

2022-05-22So disappointed. I booked a room and when I called to inform them that I was checking in late they had given my room away. It was a busy weekend all hotels were booked because of a police convention, baseball tournaments and some weddings. I was looking for hotels with my 12 year old son and subsequently found myself driving home at 1:00 am. And my Don was unable to play in his tournament the second day.

2021-11-30The Suites are clearly aimed at people wanting some home comforts. Not what I had expected and had to scramble around for breakfast and coffee etc. The hotel is however located conveniently and within walking distance from a grocery store and diner. The location is nice and quiet and I hardly saw anybody which made it really good for anybody not wanting close contact with people. I will gladly stay there again but generally prefer a different type of hotel.

2021-12-07The overall stay was great. I was however under the impression that the room I booked would have been bigger. The rooms pots and pans need to be of better quality so that they dont burn as fast on electric stoves. Also, we wanted to play music but didnt know that the walls were thin that the next room would hear. We do apologize for any disturbance.
