Room was ok but unfortunately it was difficult to get things needed. For instance there were never enough towels... no towels in swimming area. Plus in the pool room it said in case of emergency please call front desk but phone was missing. We washed our own blankets and towels thankfully the laundry room was free. We called about trash and they informed us there was a dumpster outside to dispose of garbage. Never stayed in a hotel like this before.
The pool wasn’t working and we were beer informed. That was the whole point of my stay! They also double charged me! Over a month now they have told me they would refund me!! Now they are giving me the run around!! I didn’t even end up staying there because of the pool not working. So why should I have to pay twice?!
Arrived to friendly front desk attendant. Then was unable to access our room, 1/2 used bar of soup in the shower, no TP, old coffee in maker, dirty microwave. May want to bring wipes & wipe down everything 1st. Felt it was overpriced for the quality. Our 1st choice, that was less expensive was booked as were our 1st 3 choices.Oh, and the ice maker drops ice in the middle of the night, awaking us each time. Bring your own bottle water and ice tastes terrible.
The hotel is dirty - hair in our shower, molding coffee bag in the coffee pot and the pot hadn’t been cleaned. Man at the desk was always on his phone in the back and never knew when someone was there. There were no linens for our pullout bed so our kids had to sit in their pjs waiting for bed (we got in late) while we waited for the attendant to go get some from the laundry room - which - surprise - took over 30 minutes. Poorly ventilated - our suite had one A/C unit in the living room with a hole in the wall with a broken vent fan nearby. Looked like a sleazy motel. Speaking of sleazy motel - this hotel faces one directly and had rowdy guests hanging outside on a Thursday night who decided to catcall me while walking my dogs. My husband had to walk them the rest of our stay.
Nice, clean room for reasonable price. Helpful staff and comfortable bed. Bathroom floor/shower slippery when wet. Everything in good working order. Had not planned the stay, but came during a storm and unable to travel further. Pleasant surprise as a port in the storm.
Facility is in rough shape, and needs a good cleaning. Surfaces and floor felt grimy. Had coffee packet in the room , but no fixings to go with it. Tried the coffee in the lobby, second mistake, only resembled coffee because it was brown. First entry door is automatic, but the second was not so you had to set your belongings down once in the entry to get in, not very welcoming. On the way out I told them you can email my receipt ut never got one.
After booking what appeared to be a nice place and 15 hours travel time boy was I surprised. As I walked into the entrance I knew I was in trouble. The bed sheets of the first room they gave us looked like they had been slept in and not changed. After going back to the desk to tell them their website was misleading they gave was a business suite that at least had clean sheets on the bed.Carpet dirty, torn, couch dirty, cushion torn and two different materials on the couch. Room smelled dirty. Wouldn’t walk in the room barefooted. Nasty and they don’t seem to care about Covid-19.
Dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Missing pots to matching lids. Ran out of toilet paper and no spares. Human hair hanging from towel racks. Cursing and yelling guess in the halls with no attempt to correct. Garbage outside rooms in the hallway. Dirty linens on the floor outside guest rooms and the elevator. Overall, we were EXTREMELY disappointed.
It was ok for a night. I thought we we staying at a Holiday Inn Express but found out it was a Candlewood Suites when I checked my email reservation confirmation. The check in process was very quick and to the point. However, checkout was completely opposite. Nick was very friendly and personable, a real people person! The lobby area
We stopped for a night on vacation. The front desk staff was pleasant and welcoming. The pros - clean pool, kitchenette in room, free laundry facility, bbq grill and picnic tables in outside area by pool. The cons - dirty dishes left in dishwasher, dirty towels left in bathroom and many many dead bugs on window sill
Worst hotel I’ve been to in so long I can’t even remember. Maybe the worst ever. I called ahead of time and talked to front desk to fax the credit Auth form to my boss for payment. The worker Derrick told me he would do it immediately so my check in would be quick and easy. I arrive at hotel 12 hours later and the fax was never sent. I had to call my boss at midnight and wake him up. When i finally checked in after 45 min of waiting the room was hot and smelled. I asked front desk for sheets for sofabed and pillows she said they are in closet in the room. I found a sheet rolled into a ball still dirty and a smelly black ski mask. I asked the front desk again and the lady was very rude and said she would have housekeeping bring them up in the morning. I told her that we were only there one night and would not need them in the morning we needed them now. The shower has 3 permanent shampoo/conditioner/body wash canister pumps and all 3 were empty. So we had no shower soaps at all. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and this is the worsts experience ever.
The options were between camping in 18f weather or stay here at the hotel. We should’ve camped. There was hair from the previous guest in the bathroom, around the bed etc. there was no body wash, no conditioner. The room had a VERY strong cigarette smell. The pool is pretty dirty. And the neighbor had a woman over all night which we could hear through the paper thin walls. The bed was comfy.
Positive: Room was well furnished Negative: Dishes were all dirty in dishwasher. Some apparent dog vomit was on floor. I called before arriving and was told dog fee was $10 and was charged $35, and an error was made resulting in credit card charge for double the pet fee.
Title says most of it. When I approached the front desk employee with this their response was only “that’s weird, we cleaned that earlier today” and gave me an incomplete bedsheet set. I understand employment is low with COVID but my newlywed wife and I had a miserable experience and felt dirty the whole night and weren’t really comfortable using the shower with the standing water and hair on the soap.
I was so disappointed with this place. I only needed a room for the night. The light fixture in the bathroom was taken down and left on the sink. No batteries in either remote. No shower curtain at all. Management acted like it was a hassle to rectify some of the problems. I wont be staying there again.
Very rude. The women working in the morning the three days qe were there. The afternoon staff was a little better. I called about many things but the biggest issue was when I tried to shower and the drain was clogged and I call downstairs. The front desk manager, a man answered. Very polite on the phone but when I told him I could not shower bc its clogged and when we tried to get ice so I can drink my protein drink the ice bucket had water and a bag in it. Meaning they never cleaned it! The women I went to and for an ice bag from next to us was cleaning the rooms and had NO MASK on.
This was my first stay at a Candlewood Suites and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms are. Clean, lovely bathroom, very inviting bed with fluffy pillows and a nice duvet covered quilt topper. The kitchen was a wonderful bonus for those who dont have time to stop for breakfast before a meeting. Nice to be able to make my own cup of coffee, or even a full breakfast.
The rooms are nice and spacious. I love the kitchen, but was a little disappointed in there not being a stove. However, that did not take away from my stay. Most of the staff is very pleasant and I only had one issue with one of the staff members being very rude to me. I would get towels or anything I asked for within a reasonable time frame. I am happy with my stay and looking forward to coming back.
Rooms are good size and the kitchenette is great. The location is excellent--a lot of restaurants nearby. Beds are okay--nice topper. Furniture in one of our rooms was well-worn and needs updating. The shampoo, conditioner, shower gel were wonderful! Had problems with housekeeping--had to ask several times to even get the trash removed and towels replaced--beds were never made.
The bed and pillows were amazing. We loved the room -- especially the full size refrigerator and freezer, the hot and powerful shower, portable hairdryer, electrical outlet below the full length mirror separate from the bathroom, two chairs at the peninsula desk, a recliner, and ability to borrow a blender. It really was ideal.
Our stay at Candlewood Suites in Williamsport was a very pleasant surprise. We selected the hotel for its value. We were not expecting what we got. Though the furnishings are not top shelf, everything was clean, the suite offered plenty of room, and the bed and pillows were as good as it gets. Though we were near the elevator, our stay was quiet and we slept well. The staff at the front desk on both check-in and check-out were very professional and pleasant to deal with. Well be staying at this hotel again on the way back home next week. Weve already booked the room!
Didnt realize I would be getting the convenience of an efficiency room when I booked! Neat and clean with everything necessary to make my stay in the area comfortable. Though I didnt need the full kitchen facilities, they were right there if I had wanted to cook and eat in my room. I think this room was a great value for anyone wanting to mind their budget by staying in the area and being able to cook in! It was also perfectly comfortable and met my needs to come and go on my schedule!
Room service was supposed to be there weekly. They showed once. Carpet stains. Folks in neighboring room holding parties with loud music until around 1 am. The worst part... The fire alarm went off once every 2-3 nights because people were cooking. I get it - you need fire protection. However, could you not put some signage up? Maybe respond a little quicker if it does go off?
Im torn writing this review because everything about this hotel was great. The staff were nice and efficient, the room was very clean and roomy. I particularly enjoyed the full size kitchen; all of the appliances worked and were clean. My problem was with the pool. I chose this hotel because I wanted an indoor pool in case it rained, otherwise I could have selected another hotel for a lower price. The pool was horrid! The filter wasnt strong enough to get rid of the bugs and small leaves so the attendant had to manually net them out. But there were also a lot of mildew spots, parts where the interior of the pool was cracked, and it just looked bad. I was very disappointed in that. So, if you are looking for a clean place to sleep with a full kitchen but arent interested in swimming, Id definitely choose this hotel.
Am currently in a room here and the A/C leaked water all over the carpet and stopped cooling the room, waking me up at 7am (after going to sleep at 2am). I asked to be moved to another room so I could sleep for a few hours and they told me they couldn’t move me because I check out today and they “have very few rooms and are short in housekeeping”. So, not sold out, they just don’t want to pay to clean two rooms. Terrible customer service. Don’t stay here.
We were having a nightmare experience traveling home from Thanksgiving. Icy conditions, a flat tire, being stuck on the side of the road for hours, the tire shop not having our tire and then walking with our dog a mile in horrible conditions. But the minute we got to the Candlewood Suites everything turned around. The staff was amazing. We were treated so well. The room was perfect. Plenty of room and amenities. We almost forgot about what we had been through. Then the next day we were given a late checkout because the car wasnt quite ready. I cant say enough good things about this hotel. I would definitely recommend.
Place was initially a little hard to find. Signage is not that great and it sits behind another hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating on check in. There was alot of truck traffic at the hotel in the front which made it difficult to navigate the lot. Facility is decent inside and seemed reasonably well maintained. Overall, the hallways and room were clean, although I did find hair on the floor in the bathroom. I would stay here again and wasnt disappointed.
Every time we walked into the room the musty smell took our breath. The carpet is simply gross!!!! Walked across the carpet one time barefoot and almost gagged. This is a pet friendly hotel and we were on the first floor so maybe that’s why it was so bad. There are stains on the couch and chairs. One remote control doesn’t work. The bed is decent, but not great. No house keeping each day. I’ve never stayed in a hotel where housekeeping didn’t go everyday. Lots of people have reported that it’s a very clean hotel. I’m not sure which room they stayed in, but ours was not clean. Desperately needs new carpet and furniture!
Great place to stay if your looking for convenient and pet friendly places. We have stayed at several and the staff is very positive and quick to assist or respond. The rooms and buildings are always clean and respectable. I have also noticed that most locations are very close to local attractions and highway access, which is great for us to find a local bite to eat and hit the road quick.
Ive stayed at this Candlewood before but this stay will have me looking elsewhere next time. Laundry basket in my room was full of dirty towels, coffee maker leaked (leaving a big puddle of water on the counter), coffee maker downstairs wasnt working, only one dryer in the laundry room worked, billing was incorrect, and I am still waiting on an invoice. Overall, a big disappointment. I will say that the staff was very friendly and tried to assist the best they could, although an error at check-in led to the billing challenge later on.
When you make a reservation at a hotel and pick a room for a certain reason you should be able to get that room. With having an autistic child and a dog they wanted to split my wife and i into 2 different rooms. That was not gonna happen. It was not my fault the housekeeping part of the hotel was short staffed! If there is a room for a reservation make sure the room is done. I just didnt walk up asking for a room. Reservations were made
I am repeat offender...I frequent this hotel because I have personal affairs in the area. If it were not for the kindness of staff; I would move on to some place else. I prefer a level of cleanliness next to Godliness. So, I dont mind bringing my own supplies to be completely satisfied with my accommodations. There is a bit of an uphill battle with this property. There is a large amount of Men who work outdoors and reside, while working the area, at this hotel. Which is all fine and nice, but when it comes to cleaning up after them or getting a room one of them has been in; dont count yourself lucky.Again, it is the staff that keeps me coming back. All of my needs are met with facility offerings; kitchenette, etc...The location is not bad; away from the main road but you can not hear the highway behind the hotel either. Laundry facilities are a huge bonus for this traveler. The gym could definitely get anyones road workout complete. The hotel is also not far from a walk/bike/run along the river.Close to food options; albeit not the healthiest, but accessible. A great grocery store, Wegmans, is not far of a drive either. There is many stores and restaurants within walking distance if cooking in your suite is not desirable or you did not get a kitchenette with your room.Did I mention how friendly and accommodating the staff are?!!!
No good at all found socks in closet from prior guests which was not really a big deal. Then saw bugs crawling on bed and furniture so I lifted pillows to find dirty spots under pillow. Staff did place me in different room which seemed fine but not a good night sleep after experience in first room.
WOW 😳 !!!!!, Dont stay in room 205 man listening to the elevator go up and down first thing in the morning is like a alarm Bell going off in the people are talking very loudly. The people are very disrespectful and not wearing masks and trying to talk to you I would think the Marriott staff would be more mindful of this. The nightstand seem to have no information when you ask them for information, I would have to assume that the management staff has changed because the staffing seems or not care like they used to.
Took my family on an extended business trip. Very spacious rooms and a lovely kitchen and bedroom. It was enough room to relax and to invite colleagues to visit. Worked really well but Air conditioning was on the fritz in the hallway on the first real hot day of summer. But it was manageable in the rooms. Loved the soap. It was the first time I had seen the Watkins soap at a hotel. Brought me back to grandma’s house.
On our recent trip, my wife and I stayed at 4 different IHG properties for a total of 9 days. The Candlewood Suites of Williamsport was the best of them all. That is kind of weird because we had stayed at this same location the previous year with less than stellar results. Apparently the rooms vary greatly in comfort. This time we stayed in room 302 and it was clean, spacious, and QUIET. It provided a separate area for the bed and provided 2 tvs for my wife and I to enjoy. It was without a doubt superior to the 2 Holiday inn expresses and 1 other Candlewood Suites that we stayed at.. Thats not to say those properties were anything but good but the value you find in the Williamsport location along with the wonderful staff make it a no brainer. Thanks for a wonderful nights sleep.
Absolute great place. Very clean and nice. Stayed over Christmas holidays on vacation. Took Grands swimming at indoor pool. Very convenient to everything. All the folks that work there were super nice and helpful. We plan on staying here anytime in town. We travel with our 2 furbabys and to find a place this nice that accepts our Schnauzers is a real gem. Anyone that complains much about this place has led a sheltered life and not traveled much. Finally, toss in a free and clean laundry room. Stayed a week and did my wife was happy no laundry to do when we got home.
It was very surprising the level of care it didn’t match the past experiences I’ve had. It was below my standard and what I know to be theirs. They are training new staff from what I know but this is no excuse. From overcharging, to dirty dishes, it’s absolutely still unacceptable.
I stayed for 3 nights in September 2019. Things started off on the wrong foot. I was given my room key only to find the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. Unmade bed and dirty dishes in the sink (and it was 8:00 p.m.). I had reserved a one-bedroom unit, but settled for a simple room since the only other choice was ground floor with windows that looked on to parked cars.Parking is difficult here because the parking lot is shared with another hotel next door. I didnt really like leaving my car parked here overnight. Its not easy to get a quiet room here. One side of the hotel faces the crowded parking lot and the other side faces an interstate highway. The building appears to be wood frame with little insulation between rooms and floors. The refrigerator has an ice maker (turn it on the moment you get in the room if you think youll need ice), although there is an ice machine in the laundry area on the ground floor. The washers and dryers are free. Theres also a dishwasher, 2-burner stove top and a microwave oven in the room. The bed was comfortable, if a bit soft. The wifi worked well in my room. The girl at the front desk told me I would get some bonus points for the inconvenience of the room downgrade for the entire 3 night stay. They ended up giving me a measly 2,000 points. For me, once was enough.
Best hotel we stayed at by far in ALL our years of hotel stays. Plus pet friendly!!! If something was overlooked by housekeeping it was fixed as soon as possible. Definitely will be our new hotel of choice no matter where we travel as long as price stay the same. We can afford it
I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The hotel was dirty. My feet were black from walking in my room. There was private part hair left behind in the shower. The elevators floor and walls were dirty. Overall I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you prefer a clean environment.
I was able to sleep with the windows open! And slept like a baby. Cleanliness and comfort, priceless. Pool was clean and comfortable. Kitchenette is just really great! Compared to others, overall quality surpassed my expectations for PA. My family and I look forward to coming back again and again soon. Flexibility of checkout time in addition to all the greatness Candlewood offers, makes it the number 1 top of the list of all hotels I have stayed in PA, by a far margin.
I only stay at a hotel for a place to stay and relax. Mission accomplished. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was comfortable. There were no problems. The reason I rated the Cupboard as a mid range, was I didnt use it. It seemed fine, but I cant rate something I didnt use.
The hotel location is behind a Fridays restaurant and not immediately visible from 3rd street, but we found the facility clean, safe, and comfortable for our brief stay. Arriving late at night, the front desk staff were very welcoming, and friendly. The staff the next morning were just as friendly and suggested a restaurant across the street for breakfast which turned out to be an excellent suggestion. We will look forward to staying at this location again.
Everything you need, not much in the way of luxury, but this is a good suite-hotel, that is, with kitchenette featuring microwave, full fridge, dishwasher and dining table. The suites are tiny, but comfy. And a nice touch: guest laundry is free. Staff is particularly charming and accommodating. This is a nice place for longer stays, as you can take better advantage of the amenities.
I stay at this hotel for 3mos on business fro the day I check in till the day I check out the staff was excellence. I recommend fro anyone coming to williamsport, pa to stay at this place. The staff at the front desk was friendly always willing to help. .AMBER and DANIEL. Gave me great customer service. Not to say everyone else didnt but those two i frequently dealt with during my stay. My favorite Housekeeper Marty keep my room clean, bed and sheet changed and tidy and service me with everything I need in my suite. The staff here is overall excellence made my stay here comfortable. Home away from Home. May God Bless each and everyone of you.
Overall it’s an ok hotel. It’s dated, but price reflects that. Bring 110v device chargers, as there are no USB ports other than the back of the TVs. I had to repeat room preferences, even though they were set on my app prior. The front desk attendant acknowledge my spire elite status as her back was turned doing something.
When we checked in, Emily at the front desk was wonderfully warm and personable. She made sure we had everything we needed and we were checked in very quickly. We did have an issue with some old bedding being left on the pull-out sofa. Emily immediately took action to bring us new bedding, and turned it into a fun experience for my son by letting him peek into the storage room behind the scenes when she got the new sheets.I was surprised that there was only one light blanket on the bed. We had to turn the heat up more than I would like in order to have a comfortable sleep. I would prefer to have had a proper blanket or comforter over having the heat run all night. (Would probably save the hotel some heating cost, too).Having breakfast available through a partner hotel was a very pleasant surprise.I would definitely recommend this property.
Seriously, what a phenomenal stay. It started with our evening check in Agent Daniel. Seriously made us feel welcome. The other night staff gentleman was more than helpful too, and I cant recall his name at the moment. The day staff were female, and we asked for a late check out, no problems, had to get keys re-dispatched, super quick too. Really would recommend this hotel. Very roomy suites with tiny kitchen, large bathroom, and hospitality to boot! Great job, staff! Well be booking again!
The best part of the stay was the check-in. Emily took very good care of us making sure she put us in a quiet room. The room was comfortable and clean, the kitchen was handy as we had food with us and the bed was good. The breakfast, while adequate, was not our favorite. It is served in the Best Western across the parking lot and there were too many people for our taste. Regardless, we would stay there again.
I recently completed a very extended, long-term work assignment in Williamsport. I stayed at Candlewood Suites the entire time and have nothing but positive comments. The facilities were clean, up to date, and well maintained. The location was very convenient to stores and restaurants, and easy to access from the Interstate Highway. The staff was excellent and prompt in responding to any issues I raised. My stay was long enough that myself and the staff were on a first name basis, and their friendliness was much appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
First off, every staff member I had dialogue with was tremendous. The front desk was very accommodating and friendly and the staff on our floor went out of their way to take care of us when we had some additional needs. That being said, the hotel itself was very underwhelming. I thought it would be nicer. The suite itself was OK. It had all the typical kitchen set up and utensils but nothing that would differentiate itself from other less expensive suites. The bed was horrendous, the mattress needs to be changed out. Neither one of us slept well. The Location is kind of tucked away off the highway next to a strip mall but it is conveniently located to numerous restaurants and shopping as well as very close to downtown Williamsport.
My reason for selecting the Candlewood Suites was based on previous experiences with the chain across the U.S.This is the cleanest of the several I have stayed. However there still could be some improvements. The staff has been great, and assisted me in many ways, while here.Although no breakfast is provided, the Wednesday evening socials are a nice touch for those here on extended stays. The pool is nice, as is the Gym, the ice machine located in the free Laundry is a little strange, however not a problem. The location is somewhat hard to find the first time as there are no immediate visual clues as to its location, except for a rather small sign at ground level, where one does not normally look. However once found, access and egress is no problem. On the negative side of the stay, the walls are thin, and I could easily hear people talking in the halls, in the rooms aside of mine, also from the room upstairs. Needless to say, one should guard personal and phone conversations.Would I stay at this location again, or recommend it to others...Of course, it is a great value, the the Rewards Program is significantly better than the competition!
Great spot to jump on 180 to get around town. And a good location to use as a starting point for the mountains up north.Trails nearby for biking and walking. It was also just an hour to get to the Pine Creek Trail in Blackwell.Staff was very helpful and every employee I encountered had a smile and a hello. The room was excellent for the price paid.I would definitely stay again.
High price for the location but it was homecoming weekend so I guess they figure make it while they can. The biggest problem is that the hotel is located behind a motel and shares a parking lot with it. Thats the reason for me not really thinking it was a good value. Sort of an undesirable location for that much money per night. The facility itself is clean and well maintained but the motel 50 feet away is no place Id be interested in staying in but felt like I was. The staff was friendly and the hotel has a good proximity to all youd need while visiting willpo.
Thats mold on the floor next to the air conditioner. What a dump this place is. Im sure it used to be nice at one point but now its very run down and in dire need of an updated renovation. Definitely not what you would expect from a Candlewood suites. I typically think of them as an upscale place but not here. Save your money and stay somewhere else cheaper.
The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The pool is considerably larger than another place that we stayed on this vacation, and was also quite clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend this establishment to others.
Everything was great about our stay except of learning after reading the placard in the room that housekeeping only makes weekly visits to service the room. Towels are exchanged at the front desk. Not sure what to do about the garbage we were only there for 2 nights. I guess you would bring that to the front desk as well. This was a minor nuisance but a nuisance none the least. Everything else about the visit was good to excellent and the fact that the Candlewood allows pets is a huge factor for us and we would stay there again without any other options with a pet in tow.
The maintenance staff were very polite and eager to ensure the air conditioner was repaired or replaced quickly for our comfort. There was nothing that could be done for molded carpet padding, another room was not available. Started sinus medication on 8/18/19, still on medication 9/4/19. Hallway carpet was so bad it was shampooed during visit. All carpet/padding must be removed. Tile only for pet friendly!!!
We have been a guest several times over the last 5 years. The rooms need refreshed as they are starting to show their age.We were in a handicapped accessible room on the east end of the first floor. All of the handicapped parking spaces are at the main entrance which makes it a bit difficult for mobility impaired to get to the room. There is a ramp at the east end but no handicapped parking spots. Perhaps add a couple of spots on the east end when the lot is restriped. We were in a room with a separate bedroom with TVs in the bedroom and living area. I am hearing impaired and prefer to have the closed caption on when watching TV. We could not turn on the closed caption for the TV in the living area as the remote did not allow access to the setup menu. Our overall experience was good and the staff very helpful. We will stay there on future trips.
I love Candlewood Suites! This location has been great every time I have stayed there. The ladies at the desk are always pleasant, helpful, and attentive. I was so surprised with the fast service when I called to ask how to turn the thermostat down. I less than 1 minute there was a knock on my door. The maintenance man arrived to show me how to change it! I was so surprised! It is a home away from home for me! I will always stay here when I am in town! Breakfast is great too! I was disappointed that the complimentary beverage and cookies were not offered to the IHG Rewards Club members anymore. It is about 40 min from my meeting place but it is worth it! I do wish it was closer though.
The staff is wonderful at this property. I was on town on business as well as a social trip and found out that i had no power At my house in Philadelphia due to the snowstorm they enabled me to stay an additional night with no problem. The front desk was absolutely wonderful. I was upgraded to a king one bedroom closer to the pool for my granddaughter. Had an issue in the middle of the night with my toilet and Jennifer came down and fixed it within a few minutes. I always stay at this property when in Williamsport.
I saw that it was new employees when I arrived. The guy at the front desk didnt give me what I required on record from my first stay there. Not sure if he really knew what he was doing. Ive never had this problem before. But with new employees I guess its understanding. Maybe they need more training in reading the preference list on record that guests have.
Very nice hotel chain. The kitchen is completely stocked with all cooking and cleaning supplies, just add food. The room and bathroom was clean. The only thing this room needs is you and your personal stuff. If you do feel like you need something else, the staff is right there for you 24/7.
The front desk staff was by herself and was very busy. She was friendly and did A great job. The room itself was clean. However, it was very loud. We were on the first floor and we felt like we could hear everything from above. The hotel is also in a weird location behind a shopping center.
Upon arrival, found the clerk overwhelmed by a group trying to check in before us. Also, the elevator was too small to get the luggage cart onto it easily. But, was surprised by the size of the room and kitchen. The room was clean and had plenty of coffee, soap, towels, etc. Didnt have a chance to use the gym. Checkout was easy.
I was in town for a business trip, and in the first 2 nights heard a very clear domestic dispute through the wall. I didnt feel the safest. It was farther from my business than I wanted, but at least had a table/desk set up so that I could eat and do work. The kitchenette had enough pots etc for one person, but I dont think I would be able to host a family in the same space. Confusing experience, but I really just needed the room.
I was able to use points and at check in I was met by a very friendly smile and was given the bottom floor. When looking for my room, I was met by cleaning staff who greeted me and showed me my room. The room itself was very clean and was roomy and comfortable. I was able to park near an entrance which was very near my room.
The hotel was fine and the room was very clean and nice. I was disappointed to find out that the hotel did not offer breakfast as other Candlewood Suite do. I rarely make pre-requests; however, I did ask to be placed near the elevator. I had my 2 yr old grand daughter with me so the very long walk down the hallway presented a few problems with easy trips to the lobby or car. I was not given a room by the elevator even with platinum elite status membership and I was not identified as a member at all as I am usually within the IHG coop.
Worst hotels i have ever been to! They have people who live there all year who party all night or yell and scream at each other all night . The house keepers dont clean everyday only every 3 days when they do come clean they dont do anything maybe change the towels out or they are in a hurry to leave they dont finish cleaning .My husband had worked all day to come to the room still not clean and the cleaning supplies left in the room .. Will never stay here again!
I had an extended stay here. I think the people stayed here are mostly blue collar folks who either past through the area needed a night to stay or people working in the surrounding areas needed a long term stay. The hotel has a fully equipped kitchenette with full size fridge and double range with good stainless steel cookware. The hotel doesnt seem to be that old but it feels that way probably because it hasnt been renovated over the years. When you arrive, you would notice the small reception area/lobby, it has a very long hallway and older decorations. All the king suites are located on the top floors on the far end. The hotel doesnt have much to offer except free laundry and close to lots of eatery places and a small shopping center. Some rooms might have remodeled over the years given that they have granite countertop, wood flooring, and newer cabinets. However, the original rooms have oak cabinet (some with loosen screws) with very old carpet. If you happen to stay in the king suites (one bedroom suite), the temperature would be hard to adjust since they only one HVAC in the living room equipped with a chute to push the air/heat into the bedroom. It apparently is the same design in all their suites. The HVAC terminal in the standard rooms work quite good and can control the temperature quite well. The two major complaint the I have is: first, the low quality of TV signal. Though they provide you a big screen TV, it feels like you are watching TV from the 80s. I dont understand why they cant provide their quests with the HD TV signal that all other hotels are offering for many years now. In order to watch some decent TV programs, I had to stream my TV programs all the times since I couldnt stand the low quality TV signal. Second, the internet speed is horrible in half of the times and barely usable in maybe 20% of the times. The wifi speed is very slow to start with, it’s normally in the 5 MBPS range or less. It may occasionally spiked up to 25 MBPS range but that never lasted long. A lot of times, when there were more people at the hotel, the wifi speed dropped way down to less than 1 MBPS which was way slower than dial-up. If you stay on the top floors and or on the far end of the hotel, you would not have connection at all especially when there are lots of people staying at the hotel or in the evening when everyone is back. The hotel is slow in doing the repairs like broken dryer and washer. Overall, the staff was very nice and helpful. However, the housekeeping staffs need to improve their service. They would miss cleaning your room or not provide the amenities that you need like coffee, showering gel etc. I think its the management of the hotel that is at fault in the quality of the hotel. IHG needs to have some basic standards for all of their hotels instead of allowing the management/owner fails to offer the decent accommodations for all their quests.
Front desk staff sit in back watching tv/computer and are unable to see guest or greet; not very professional or good service model. Housekeeping staff did not show up on scheduled days when they did cleaning was incomplete no towels changed, trash not emptied, bed not change because a spread was at the foot of the bed and dirty towels were left. No one called or left message when mail was delivered to front desk for guest. Arrival was to be before check-in time so made reservation for the day before and called to confirm tht I would be arriving before check-in time and to hold room tht was paid for and they sold my paid room the night before arrival. Did not ask if I was a Reward Club member at check-in. Overall stay was just fair.
We needed a brief overnight stop on a road trip. This was a perfect little unit. Only problem I had was the bed so close to wall on my side; a few more inches would have made a comfortable difference. Big surprise was food store that had everything we could have wanted to fix a meal in the suite; there were also plenty of eating places close by. Close to freeway (and train) but so well insulated did not hear any noise inside. Very friendly staff, very accommodating. Great value. Nice sack breakfast on way out.
Normally I stay at Holiday Inn Express when I travel for business, but they were booked so my rep made me a reservation at Candlewood Inn and Suites. I have never stayed here before, but was very impressed when I arrived. The room is more like an apartment than a Hotel room. It even had a dish washer, coffee pot, and dishware.Overall I was very happy with the room.My only two issues (minor) - were they had no port for my internet cable (wifi on my laptop is broken so I couldnt work - few hotels hear days have this anymore) and there was no free breakfast. This makes sense because you have a kitchen to cook your own, but still hurts the value. Also the parking lot was a bit tough to find because it was shared between two hotels.
I am pleased with My First Experience with Candlewood suites, I have a completely new prospective for the Suites Concept. Convenience and ease of the open and generous amenities. Enjoyed the complimentary Coffee day and night.. Utilized the general store on many occasions, The Pool and exercise gym was well complimented.. All the equipment Worked !!!! Suite concept of privacy during the stay was well received. Extra towels available at front desk with courtesy. I plan on researching Candlewood Locations for future travel, Business
The problem with this property is NOT the staff. They were fine. However, starting with the outside, it was to dark, not enough parking. hard to park and unload luggage. Entrance was NOT well lite. Elevator sounded like a jet ready to take off. Bed in room was to close to wall on one side. recliner looked like it was purchased at a junk yard.
Eight of us were visiting the area on our motorcycles. We arrived three hours before check in time with our luggage on the bikes. The front desk was awesome, they let us drop our luggage off in a holding area until we checked in later in the day. It was a beautiful area to ride. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
The hotel was really nice and the room was high quality. It made our trip very comfortable and relaxed. The only thing that I would say is less than I deal was the fact that the room costed so much. The prices are on the upper side especially since they dont have a breakfast available.
On arrival to the hotel at ~11:30pm, I was nicely greeted by desk clerk who check me in. She promptly told me about my benefits as a Priority Club member, offered me free item from their small store, showed me internet code for my room, and nicely handed me the room key in folding envelope. The room was nicely appointed, television worked fine as did the internet. Kitchenette was clean, which I really only used to store my free soda. I checked out at 1:30pm, as I was slated to meet my son at 2:00pm. In all, everything about the hotel was fine. The only issue is the parking lot is a bit crowed as it is shared with adjacent hotel.
The property itself was nice and staff friendly and accommodating. However, guests in the room above us were very noisy (sounded like they were going to drop through the ceiling) and there was running through the halls at all hours of the night. However, I would still recommend this hotel based upon staff, cleanliness, and comfort.
The property is old. Carpet was ripped, I wouldnt touch the couch in my room b/c of the stains. Completely paper process to check in. Doors at night are locked, and you can tell at one point they had a way to get in with your key. That no longer works so you ring a bell and the front desk comes out to let you in.
A nice hotel for an excellent price. Close to a bunch of restaurants, and CrossCutters’ Field(check them out). Works for all of my needs, only problem that I had was the strength of the in-room WiFi, needed to get some work done and kept losing my connection. Solved it with a cable instead of wireless. Overall an enjoyable stay.
The bed was comfortable. The check in was a nightmare. The employee had no idea what rooms were clean or not. Didnt know what rooms had guests. Tried to send me elsewhere. However I already booked on the website. I asked for extra towels the next morning, and did not receive them. This place was not what I expected and am disappointed!
Seeking accommodations in Williamsport wasnt easy especially when traveling long term with a Special Need young man; Candlewood Suites gave me that comfort. I was able to book a Deluxe Suite with my son and his caregiver under the government rate. The Loan Store was a genius idea. Great place, great staff, and great comfort.
A friend decorated the room for a bachelorette party. She paid extra to come the night before and decorate for the party. Housekeeping came and threw away around $200 worth of decorations and a few bottles of alcohol. We came to a room good of decoration. Also, housekeeping did a horrible job of cleaning. There was tape everywhere and there were pubes in the bathroom 😷😷😷
Great hotel if you plan to stay awhile. Its kind of hidden behind another hotel and restaurant. Kind of confusing. Not much parking. The queen bed seemed more like a full size. It was comfortable though. Large bathroom was convienant. And DVD player was in the room for anyone that wanted to watch movies during their stay.
From the moment we walked in the hotel you could tell it wasnt cleaned well. The room looked very dingy and dirty but then again what do you expect when housekeeping is only once a week. The towels in the bathroom were not clean. We had to take all the dishes in the cabinet and run them through the dishwasher because they were dirty from previous use. The reclining chair in the room looked something splattered on it but when you got closer it was just torn. The bed was not anchored to the ground so if you sat on the end it would raise up. I am honestly shocked because I thought since this property is affiliated with IHG that the same standards would be kept all across the board. Lesson learned we will be staying in the Holiday Inn Express & Suites just a few miles down the road from now on.
The staff were great and the hotel was clean. The only issue we had was that we were there the week of the Little League World Series. They ran out of pillows and they only have the rooms cleaned every 3 days. You would think knowing how many people come for this event they would make sure they had enough pillows on site and cleaning was done more often.
We had a great stay at Candlewood Suites. The amenities in our one bedroom suite were amazing . We really do prefer to stay in a suite as opposed to a hotel room and with the reasonable prices available at Candlewood make that a real possibility. The staff was not only competent, friendly and caring , but even took the time to fully explain the rewards program.
We have stayed at this Candlewood Suites hotel many times in the past. The hotel has been expanded since our last visit, including the addition of a pool. Our only comment about the furniture in the room is that it is showing its age. The leather finish was extremely worn on the arms and back, and it definitely needed to be reupholstered. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable.
I was in town for 2 weeks for business and am glad I was able to find a hotel as great as this one. There were 3 girls at the desk when I checked in very friendly and very accomodating. I would recommend this hotel to other co-workers re-turning areas. The only issue, which is something no one could have really helped was the internet connection. I was on the 2nd floor all the way at the end of the hallway and could get no wireless internet connection. THe lady at the front desk was helpful in finding me an ethernet cord so that I would be able to get some form of connection.
We were in Williamsport to visit family and to bike the Grand Canyon of PA. The Hotel is cramped behind businesses and will give you a good view of the highway. It will also give you large rooms that are clean, comfortable and very cozy. Their pool is rather large. More important, the building is in the middle of the strip so you are in walking distance of many shops and lots of eateries. Yes, we will be visiting again.
Its well kept and clean. My only complaint is the buildings elevator placement. For some reason they put the elevator on one side of the building instead of in the middle. So if you have a room on the other side furthest from the elevator you got quite a walk ahead of you. I wish they would fix that.
In my second attempt to get this review posted I will avoid the one mistake that I made, posting a rate, and draw attention to the second reason my first review was rejected, irrelevant or inappropriate visual content .This hotel was very nice and my first Candlewood brand experience. Although we had a very brief stay, the desk clerk who checked us in did everything she could, except carry our bags to the room to make sure we were satisfied. The room was very comfortable and would be very useful if staying for a lengthy period of time. There were two things that I did have issues with pertaining to the hotel, and one pertaining to the IHG website itself. The first issue with the room is the horrendous pillows. They are the worst that I have had at an IHG property, or any of their competitors. The second issue, although I was staying using points, I was presented with a bill in the morning for a nominal sum. I asked why this is and has it been processed on my credit card. Being from Canada, if they had charged through an amount on my credit card, if the only way it could be reversed was to do a refund, the exchange rates used by the credit card company would be different, and I would have still paid something. Unfortunately the desk clerk in the morning was new and did not know why there was a charge, what to do about it or if a charge had been placed against my credit card. She was very friendly apologized that she did not know and called a co-worker. She could still not figure it out so she was waiting for her co-worker to show her. About 5-10 mins later another employee came in and she explained what happened and he had indicated that no nothing had been charged and that I do not need to sign nor do I get an invoice. The last issue has to do with the IHG website and one of the reasons we chose this hotel. In my rejected review I posted a screen shot of the IHG website showing this hotel and that it had free breakfast. As we were driving from Ontario to Southern Virginia we wanted somewhere where we could stay, eat and go. When I questioned where breakfast was the clerk said they do not offer it. I stated it says it on the website and she informed me that she did not know why they would do that. In fact, the operator of this particular hotel wanted to include a breakfast but the brand policy is to not have breakfast so they could not serve it.I am still trying to figure out how the screen shot was irrelevant or inappropriate unless it was because there was a rate that was displayed, as they always do when you search for a hotel in the reservation feature of the IHG website.I would stay at this hotel again. I now know not to expect breakfast and will certainly bring my own pillows.
My girlfriend and I have stayed here several times but this last time was our last time at this property. I paid top dollar for a very dissatisfied stay. Very disappointing. When you pay for a room you pay for everything that is advertised, including the basics. Very disappointing.
We were shocked to open the door to our room to find that it was already occupied. The lady at the front desk quickly assigned us another room. When we got to the room, it didnt have any pillows. That was quickly remedied by the lady at the front desk who told me that she had just taken the pillows from another room. She also apologized and said that she was the only one working and had her hands full. In addition, the hotel was very loud-children and teens running the halls and a very loud party in the room next to ours (at 1:30AM). It seemed apparent that this hotel was understaffed in many ways for a Saturday night! Having said all of that, however, the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is not served in this hotel but is complimentary at the hotel next door that is managed by the same people.
Although the staff tried to make throwing out all of my friends decorations right by tracking them down and replacing what was missing, the room was not the greatest. The couch cushion looked as though it had been chewed or shredded by a pet. There were pubes left in the bathroom, the chair in the room was pretty broken, the television in the main room had a green line projecting through it. There was chewed gum in the couch and candy under the chair. Also they claimed the room was supposedly only booked for one night and the date had been moved up to the previous day, as opposed to extended by a night like my friend had requested, I am doubting this story because the key card still worked. Shouldnt those be deactivated or the code changed for the room after a stay is over? That personally sounds like a safety issue.
I stay at this location often for business, and the staff is always friendly and ready to help you with anything you might need. The Candlewood cupboard is so convenient. It;s nice not to have to stop at the store after a busy and long day of work to get soda or a snack. Its especially nice not to have to carry cash for the vending machine. I always sleep well and the kitchen is my favorite part. Its always clean with nicer pots and pans than I have at my house. I love not having to spend all my money on dining out when I am on the road. If you have to stay in Williamsport this is the place to stay.
They allowed my girlfriend to check into my hotel before i arrived. I actually had planned to go to a different hotel but when she arrived there they would not allow her to check into the room until the card holder checked in, unless i did a bunch of paperwork and fax it back... I was driving at the time, so i calmly called candlewood because ive never had a bad experience there. They had no issues with that.Only possible downfall is they do not have hottube and thats why we were going to a different hotel.
Overnight stay with wife and kids. Hotel is nothing special but in a convenient location in town. This hotel was better than a previous candlewood we stayed at (it was much cleaner) but its still their typical barebones setup geared towards temp workers in the area. I would have rated a three but issue at checkout resulted in being required to make a couple calls to have charges reversed.
Used points for a room. Good hotel. Delivered what you would expect. Staff worked hard to get me checked in early which was appreciated. Parking is at a premium as the lot is shared with another hotel. Prices during the series are absurd but I only used the standard number of points making this a better value.
We stayed here for the LLWS this year. It was a very convenient 5 minute drive from the complex. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Decent room, a little smaller than I had expected but clean. Plenty of restaurants, grocery store, etc nearby. A little noisy on our first night out front of hotel (a Friday night).
ALWAYS an EXCELLENT choice when traveling, conducting business or pleasure!Hotel staff is very cordial and accommodating - making the entire stay very worthwhile!Check-in/out is seamless and quick. Staffers are genuinely concerned for your satisfaction.Simply....the BEST!
We stayed here after a requested move from our original hotel and it was a good experience.Great customer service, every request was met with a great attitude and filled.Rooms were comfortable and clean.Convenient to the Little League complex and lots of dining options.
My wife and I were in Williamsport, Pa. for a funeral. We came back to the room after the service, around 4:00 pm with some relatives ,to find that the beds were not made ,and the dirty towels were still on the bathroom floor. When we checked at the front desk later we were told they do not provide daily housekeeping service. If we needed towels they would give us new ones. What exactly were we to do with the dirty ones?? I guess just step on them in the bathroom. It amazed me though, there was an envelope on the desk to leave a tip for housekeeping, what a joke!!! There will be other trips to Williamsport for family business and I am absolutely certain ,we WILL NOT be staying at Candlewood.
The suites are perfect for conducting business., extra long desks (table). Especially like the plush towels.....Only drawback at this particular hotel is checking out. Although they will email you a receipt, they do not slide your paper receipt under the door like every IHG property does.
The hotel has had a turnover in staff and the new staff will take sometime to come up to speed. the young man who was on the desk the evening of Friday the19th was excellent. The rooms were not as clean as in the past and the entire property is starting to have a worn out appearance .
My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary, and our son had a game in Lock Haven, so we decided to get a hotel in Williamsport for the night. We are from Toronto, Canada, and when we travel, we like to stay at Candlewood Suites because of the convenience of a kitchenette and just comfort overall. Unfortunately, for this visit, we were disappointed. When we arrived, the young lady at the front desk, while she was pleasant, she was busy having a personal conversation on her phone. She just asked us for the name on the reservation, asked me to sign a paper, then said, enjoy your stay. All of this while talking on the phone. No instructions as to our room number, the wifi or where to go to get to our room. We had to search for the elevator. When we got to our room, the beds were made, but looked like they were slept in as the sheets were ruffled and cover the mattress completely. I called the front desk, and we were offered another room. Because we had to hurry to get to our sons game, we told her that we would do that after the game. We did get a new room but it was barely any better. Bathroom looked shabby. Towels were ripped and falling apart. Fridge and heater made noise all night. TV didnt have much to watch on it. No movie channels. There was a very pleasant young man when we checked out though. Overall, we were not impressed with this location, and not sure wed stay there again. We probably would recommend but with caution!
This location has a Motel literally a few feet away, in fact they share the same parking lot, that is how close they are to each other. When they pull out of their space, if they swing too wide, they can hit your car. This is not family inviting and does not say relax. When I checked in at 7.30pm, I saw a parking lot full of trucks and an 18 wheeler taking up three spaces and a bunch of men hanging outside drinking. I get it, they are there to relax too and the Motel was it. The parking lot should have been separated between the two hotels and not consumed with trucks and working vans. This is not family inviting at all and because of this; I checked out the next day and went to another hotel. I had family coming up and was supposed to be there for three days. That did not happen. Not welcoming or inviting.Dont get me wrong, I love Candlewood; I will be a fan of this establishment for years to come. Seeing all that, did not say relax or bring the rest of the family up.
When I arrived my room was freezing. I turned the heat on and called the front desk. They brought me 3 blankets. I was not planning on camping. It took greater than an hour after I turned the heat on before I felt like I was actually inside. I certainly did not feel like a Platinum member. Worst experience I have had by far. I got very little sleep because I was froze. Staff just kept blaming it on someone else. Certainly not an IHG experience. Disgusted!!!!
This was our first time here. This was a beautiful experience. The staff was professional, friendly, and polite. The room was clean and smelled fresh. It had everything we needed. We appreciate the hospitality of the staff and community. We loved the entire experience in Williamsport, PA.
Broken clock, had to ask for replacement. Shower curtain 6 too short, made a mess with every shower! NO linen exchange or trash pick up, we had to do it ourselves. Room was clean, property was quiet and secure. They appear to not want leisure guests, but want the weekly renters so they dont have to provide daily room cleaning, and clean towels!
I have stayed at a number of hotels as I travel a lot for work, most of them being in the IHG chain. After staying at this hotel I will be looking at changing brands. Our group check-in was a nightmare to say the least. The recliners in all the rooms that I saw looked as if dogs had chewed on the arms. Because our group had such a problem with check-in a discount was given, but had one person in our group that they would not give the discount to just because they did not have an issue. We had one member get charged for 2 rooms because they said 2 rooms were in his name and 1 room was a no show when they told us they did not have enough rooms for what we reserved. I cant express how awful our experience was with this hotel. I am a pretty tolerant person but after our stay here I will never stay there again and I am looking at changing my IHG loyalty to somewhere else.
We stayed at Candlewood in Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series! It was a super great experience. Clean, well stocked and super comfortable. I slept like a log! What impressed me the most was staff! They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Each and every one super nice and made us all feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed! Great location with food and gasoline nearby.. Easy access to LLWS. Will stay again! Kids loved the pool.It was expensive for the suite, but EVERYPLACE in town is expensive during LLWS... I will for sure come back!
After driving to the hotel after a full day at Sesame Place we arrived to the hotel around midnight. Carrying my sleeping 3 year old into the hotel to find out our room was given away to guests who decided to extend their stay - we were not notified this was happening before our arrival despite having confirmation of our booking (which we made over a week prior) we werent offered an upgrade to anything that may have been available to compensate for the incovience. Rather we were told we were bumped due to overbooking and our reservation was given to the motel across the way. So we had to get the kids back in the car and drive over to the motel. The motel was able to accommodate us however this was not the hotel we booked with - this was not a suite nor did it have a kitchen which is what we booked with candlewood - rather a drive up to the roomMotel through Best Western. Having two young sleeping children it was too late to argue with Candlewood. Upon checkout at the motel we were told the rate was 100.00 for the night (12 am -10 am) which was not what we were going to pay bc it was not candlewood suites and I wasnt not paying the same rate for a motel room - best western did lower the rate. I do not agree with the way Candleood does business - I am not a satisfied guest. If I made a reservation for a room they should tell their guests who want to extend they do not have availability rather than giving them my reservation and bumping my family to motel that is no way close to the room accommodations I had reserved at Candlewood. Caution to future guests if you show up late you may get bumped and tossed to another motel Without warning and no compensation for the inconvience.
The place stunk like weed, guests across the hall fighting and up and down all night long knocking on doors. 2 am there was fire where everyone had to go outside due to a worker cooking chicken nuggets and falling asleep. Most ridiculous experience ever! No refunds or discounts given
The suite is spacious with the kitchenette. There are two flat screen TV; however, I wish them to be a bit bigger especially the one in the bedroom. All the appliances work without any issue. The cooking pots are all stainless steel and look quite new. They come with multiple sizes to suit your everyday need. The HVAC work okay but since the thermostat locates on the HVAC, it doesnt sense the room temperature correctly. The adjustment could be tricky. The major complaint that I have is the TV signal, it uses Comcast but its only in analog (extremely low quality) signal. Who in the 21st century still use analog signal for business? I wish they could an upgrade the TV signal to some decent digital HD signal ASAP. The wireless internet is not high speed either. Its sufficient for most of the times but it couldnt keep up in many instances.
I checked into this hotel thinking that I would get to spend some time with my family. I am active duty military and I traveled up from Maryland so my parents could see their 10 month old grandchild. When we walked into our room we were very happy with what we saw. The room was huge and their was a separate dinning and kitchen and it was immaculately clean!HOWEVER, we went to eat at TGI Fridays with my family and came back to all this noise. We kept hearing kids screaming. Then the fire alarm went off. We figured that there must be some kids in the room downstairs that were getting into mischief. After the fire alarm went off the kids kept screaming. Its about 8pm. I went downstairs to maybe talk to them or their parents and thats when I realized that our room was above the POOL. The kids were screaming as they were jumping into the pool. They were doing NOTHING wrong. Still the room had bad ventilation and the kids screaming continued to get louder as more and more kids went down to the pool. I went to the front desk and asked them to move us rooms and they said they did not have anymore rooms available. I asked them why they would put us in the room over the pool especially knowing that we had a 10 month old baby when we checked in. Our daughter keeps waking up to the screaming from the pool.I can tough it out for a few hours, but when I went to the front desk I found out the pool was open until 11PM! I have never once wrote a review, I have never once complained about a room. I have hundreds of hotels over my 20 year career in the Navy. This is, by far, the worst place I have ever stayed. When you drive 4 hours to stay away from your house you do not expect this. I would rather sleep in a barracks in IRAQ!I think the hardest part is that I researched so many places to stay and I was very excited about this place. What a horrible, horrible let down. Candlewood you need to take the room we are staying in (room 202) and make it into a mechanical room or change the pool hours to close at 8pm. There is no way that there has never been complaints before. I recorded the noise on my phone and I am willing to play it for you.You can contact me anytime. My name is on file at Candlewood. I stayed here on September 26th in room 202. Our names are Kellie Hamilton and Kristin Brindley.I also want to add that Mitchell, the night clerk, came to our room and heard the noise himself. He felt horrible about how bad it was, but could do nothing to help us. He said Candlewood needs to fix the sound proofing above the pool. He also told us that their might be a room at the Fairfield Inn (2 miles up the road) that we could try and get. ----we called and the hotel was booked solid.I want my money back!
Below average Candlewood when compared to others. Needs a refresh. It didnt help half the carpet was soaked from water coming in somewhere around the window of my first floor room. Busy couple days, so didnt want to deal with it. I realize keeping it to myself isnt good, but packing up and moving to another room was more of a hassle than just stepping around the area of wet carpet.
I have stayed at Candlewoods 3 times and now it is our favorite. My main concern is that the bed be comfortable since I have a bad back. It is very difficult to find this and we have had some very bad experiences in our travels. But Candlewood has provided extremely good beds and I wake feeling great.
The title says it all. Great Service from the Front Desk to the housekeeping staff. Even the Snow removal crew for salting overnight to make sure we were safe on the way to the cars! I have now found my go to for all business travel stays in Williamsport. Great representation of the IHG brand and Candlewood Suites! 5 Stars to all at Williamsport Candlewood Suites!

2022-03-20Dont waste your money! We arrived at 3am and were greeted by a truck parked outside the front doors to the place in a handicapped spot, blasting the music as loud as it could. Upon entering this fine establishment, we were informed our reservation we booked online was for a different day. You would think this could have been simply changed and a simple fix? Absolutely not. So now we have to pay double for a 10 hour stay and wait for the money to be returned to us. Could I simply use cash since you had already taken the money from my card for the wrong night? My manager has to approve cash transactions. After finally getting another $107 deducted from the account, we were given the keys. When the elevator opened on the 3rd floor we knew immediately we had chosen the wrong place. The hallway floor looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in weeks! The trashcan at the end of the hall had a trashbag laying next to it full of trash which was still laying there at 1pm when we checked out. 10 hours later. We get into our room and realize we were just placed in a room that had never been cleaned from the last people that had stayed in that room. Trashcan was full of trash. Dirty towels left on the sink area along with used soap laying on the sink. Bed was left as the previous customers had slept in it. This was wonderful considering its now 4am and inconvenient to say the least. The front desk attendant brings us keys to the room across the hall. This room was a bit cleaner. No trash in the cans and bed was at least made but there was not one single roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. Once again the front desk attendant comes back upstairs to bring the toilet paper. We stayed at this hotel for less than 10 hours and it was enough to know we will never do it again. When we left, the hallway had even more crumbs and food particles on the floor. We should have been compensated for the room considering it was filthy but this place is basically a sorry about your luck kind of place. I have never written a bad review but this place has me disturbed so much that I now felt the need to. Lesson learned.

2022-06-10Did not feel safe at this hotel. The window was unlocked (on the 1st floor) when I came into the room & only checked because a co-worker mentioned hers was unlocked too. There were stains on the doors, curtains, and 1 pillow case. The floors are also in rough shape.

2022-03-31We checked in around 11 pm go to room the room was never ready for guests. Its cold when we walk in so go to turn heater on thermostat on wall doesnt work at all wont turn heat on cant turn up or down temperature or anything so I look at heater it says use settings on wall only so we go without heat for the night!! Get ready to get in showers and find out there are no towels or wash clothes available in the room anywhere. I go out to call front desk phone doesnt work so I go in bedroom to call that one doesnt work either so I have to go to the front desk myself wonderful!! Go to make coffee in the morning and there arent any cups put in the room for the coffee pot. No dirty laundry bag. Not to mention who puts a sink in a bathroom thats just a sink no counter at all whatsoever what is a woman supposed to do with all her accessories to do her hair and makeup and what not for the day she had to set it all on floor. This is by far the worst stay I have ever had in a hotel and Im not so sure I will use IHG again and I love holiday inn express but Im very upset with my experience. I said something to the front desk on my way out and she says I will let my manager know Im not trying to make excuses but we have like 5 companies staying with us and we dont have towels and wash cloths we had to buy some. My thoughts if you cant accommodate my room dont rent it out because now you have a bad experience and a customer who wont come back!!

2021-12-14My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary, and our son had a game in Lock Haven, so we decided to get a hotel in Williamsport for the night. When we got to our room, the beds were made, but looked like they were slept in as the sheets were ruffled and didnt cover the mattress completely. Looks like someone rushed to make the beds. Overall, we were not impressed with this location, and while I might recommend for a short stay, Im not sure wed stay there again.

2021-10-21This was my first time in a suite style hotel. It was fun to cook our own breakfast, especially in this time of COVID style grab and go breakfasts. The staff was very nice and attentive to questions or needs. The room itself was not well cleaned. As we were preparing for checking out, we found debris under the bed (not left by us). The bedding and the bathroom seemed well cleaned so this was a bit of a shock. If you do not see any cups or glasses about the room, look in the dishwasher! I did find clean dishes waiting for me there but I was a bit baffled until I discovered those.

2021-09-20The hotel was completely booked for most of, if not the entirety of, our stay. No problem, we are low-maintenance types. But when we got to the room, it was just one unwelcome discovery after another. The floor in the room had not been vacuumed since who knows when. There were dead gnats and something else that I dare not ponder on too much that should have been cleaned up at the windowsill. No paper towels. Eh, less than ideal, but still not something Id normally complain about. My major hang-up was with the bathroom. It was utterly disgusting. There hadnt been even a perfunctory once-over, and someone elses hair everywhere. The toilet had not been cleaned. At all. It was visibly dirty, the rim of the toilet bowl had not even been wiped down, and the bowl was dirty too. There was half a roll of toilet paper and no shampoo in the shower dispenser. There were some towels that were presumably clean, but NO WASHCLOTHS. When I called the front desk to see if we could get another room, the staff informed that there were no other rooms, but he offered to clean it up in between check-ins, which he did. Unfortunately I do not remember his name, but he is the only reason I did not give the staff criterion a bottom as well. He at least is to be commended. On Sunday morning at check-out, I had listed all the problems we had had with the room and handed it to the manager, who read it and apologized. She said she would be in contact but as far as I can see, has not yet done so. I am fairly laid-back, but this was so disgusting (especially in light of the cleanliness policies to make for safer conditions during the pandemic) that I could not stay quiet about it.

2021-10-12This is the second time staying at this establishment. The first time in the summer the AC didn’t work properly and the room just have a dirty feel to it. This last time the tables had a sticky substance on them and there was an empty Yuengling beer can in the shower. I think management needs to second-guess their housekeeping staff. Plus the cupboard barely had anything in it for purchase (very limited drinks and frozen items)
