Wonderful ice cream (blueberry cheesecake is available for a month or two each summer); beautiful building; friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful for kids. There are some nice outdoor benches - its a farm with all the ice cream made from milk they produce there, so if the wind is in the wrong direction it can be fragrant and you can have yellow jackets around (not bees), but you can always move indoors. Kids have a blast, not just with the ice cream but visiting the sheep, ducks, pigs, chickens and of course the cows. They also sell milk, yogurt, occasional fresh vegetables (fresh and cheap), some other local items or frozen local meats, and are the pickup point for a CSA.They ship ice cream and do a great job at it, though its not a cheap product to ship of course. Great to visit, great to buy ice cream from, great for kids and parties. 100% recommended. Also they have wonderful ice cream cakes (order ahead); my wife said its the best cake shes ever had.
Chester Springs Creamery is our family’s favorite place for ice cream! You can’t find better ice cream around. It’s made with Milky Way Farms’ own dairy milk AND the FLAVORS - just WOW! So many delicious choices to choose. I’ve never had one that I didn’t enjoy! Always friendly and helpful service, too! I recommend you visit soon and try some for yourself. And don’t forget to take at least one quart home with you!: ))
Wonderful, fresh ice cream at a reasonable price. There are more flavors available each day than you could imagine, but be sure to get an interesting flavor when you can because it might not be there next time! And the best feature: eat your ice cream right alongside the sweet creatures that helped to make it! Not just cows, but goats, pigs and more are all available for delightful observation!
Fun location to spend time here. Not only do you get amazing ice cream, you can also spend time looking at the farm animals. Young kids have amazing time looking at farm animals and occasionally talking to the family of farmers who own the creamery and the milky way farms. Some very unique and seasonal flovors of ice creams are available to enough.I do recommend visiting this place to satisfy your taste buds and experience the wonderful farm adventure for all.
A friend recommended coming here while we were traveling for work and it was a great recommendation! All of the milk for the ice cream comes from the cows on their farm which is really awesome. They even name the flavors after the cow. They have a ton of flavors and theyre pretty unique.Unfortunately, they were out of several flavors, but we also got there late. I ended up getting a sundae with pineapple orange ice cream and mango topping. I loved that they have mango topping since thats unusual. The ice cream was some of the creamiest Ive ever had and quite delicious.I would drive way out of my way to come get ice cream at this place!
Love this place. Great ice cream flavors with a huge variety, fun spot for the kids to see some animals in the fields. Theyre allergy-friendly - just ask and theyll open a new container in the back, away from allergens and with clean scoops. Also, there is regularly produce available for (cash) purchase, as well as eggs.
This place is great! Awesome homemade ice cream in lots of different flavors. Also, the creamery is part of Milky Way Farms, a working dairy farm. Their ice cream is homemade from the milk they produce from the views that are out grazing right behind the creamery! There are also sheep and goats to look at and feed. All in all, its a great time whether youve got kids wholl enjoy the entire thing or you just love Ive cream!
We bring the kids here for ice cream and to see the animals. The ice cream is very good, though a bit pricey. The staff is friendly but a bit rigid on order Im ng rules so listen to ensure you know the drill. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be a challenge on summer weekends.
To have ice cream that they make in house is amazing as it is. They have the cows out in the grass so you can see them. They have nice seating outside and inside. At a good price you can try many flavors. Each flavor has an interesting name. Im typically lactose intolerant but with this dessert I was good.
Without a doubt, this place has the freshest homemade ice cream I have ever tasted. Their staff is extremely courteous and there are what seems like an endless amount of flavors. The atmosphere is also great for kids as they allow customers to wander around the building to see the farm animals. If youre looking for a quick treat, this place is not to be missed!
I really do like this place or ice cream because its fresh and delicious but the parking is odd and the smell from the cow from can be a little overwhelming. Have a wonderful selection of flavors and its always busy because of the quality. I truly do like this place and would rather even side because youre not down wind from the field.
Great place for ice cream on a beautiful summer evening. Lots of different flavors. Everything that I have had has been good. Weve taken the grandkids here during the day. Besides the ice cream, they just love to see the farm animals. Just a really nice day experience.
Best icecream around. The lines can get a bit long but they move fast so dont be deterred. You can tour the farm, which is great for the little ones. Oh, and the icecream is awesome. They always have plenty of flavors, so if you are like me and need more than one scoop, you can mix and match and have fun.
Got to visit this creamery with my wife and son. Now, you gotta know I love my ice cream. So, my son orders his 2 scoop waffle cone and me a 2 scoop dish. Both of us ordered cookie dough. Being the old guy I am, I got my dish and began enjoying it only to find out I had a dish of vanilla with one chunk of cookie dough. My handsome teenage son who was being served by teenage girls, who got a waffle cone with the new container of cookie dough, had yummy chunks all through it. The old guy takes the hit again. Oh well, great ice cream!
I really wanted to like this place. My husband and I went here here because it was part of the #pursueyourscoops Ice Cream Trail. I got a scoop of cookies and cream and one of dark chocolate. There was literally only one piece of cookie in the scoop and the dark chocolate was very clearly flavored with chocolate syrup. If I wanted that taste, I would get a black and white milkshake. My husband got chocolate chip cookie dough, which he said is probably the best one hes had. If wed each gotten that, this would be a five star review. Unfortunately, he went for a chocolate brownie flavored one for his second scoop and he was disappointed to find that it was devoid of brownie chunks and was Hershey syrup flavored. Stick to the non-chocolate flavors and it will probably be a great experience.
They have plenty of flavors to try every weekend for the whole summer. Our weekend trips never complete without trying a new flavor here. So far I have tried most if the flavors, and my recent favourites are Tira Misu, opal orange pineapple, betsy blueberry cheesecake.
You can feel and enjoy your ice cream until your last bite.. the ingredients are fresh and tasty.. live stock around the place adds to the wow factor.. and the all friendly n polite staff help you choose a perfect treat to your taste buds, over all must visit place in Chester springs,😎🍓
High-Tech quality operation here - you wont find anything else quite like it. The unique thing about Chester Springs is its robotic milking system. There are not a ton of them in the state and its pretty amazing - the cows decide when theyll get milked and just wander in and out 3x a day. The robot washes the cows lady parts and then hooks her up and milks her with no human interaction at all. The robot also determines how much of what feeds (grass/grain/silage) the cow gets, depending on where shes at in the milking cycle. Its pretty amazing. Then some of their milk is processed locally to be made into their ice cream - the rest goes to be made into butter, etc. (Land-O-Lakes I think they said...). Keeping with the high-tech and by-the-numbers approach- they also price the ice cream by weight, every cone is weighed before they hand it to you, and the price is never quite the same. No doubt this provides them with all kinds of data on what is selling...how much waste there is by type, etc. etc. just more of a very organized approach to farming. Seems some of the other reviewers had some problems with bees - I didnt notice any bees anywhere the day we were there, and based on how organized and efficient they were I cant imagine a problem like that wouldnt be very quickly addressed... I mean they keep special boxes of ice cream in their freezers for people with various food allergies so they dont cross-contaminate by dipping multiple flavors. Thats over-the-top customer service, so it would not be in concert with that for them to let a bee problem go haywire. Those folks probably hit it on the wrong day.
Up my girlfriend and I ate ice cream on a Sunday night, and I was very disappointed with my experience. We both order to ice cream cones and the ice cream scoop size was that for a child, and I am a adult. finally it was disappointing to have to pay for the ice cream cone by the ounce. I had to pay for the scoop and The Cone by wait, I guess this is the way we do it in this mad world we live in. Its not expensive deli meat I dont understand why they couldnt have just put clear prices up on it. It feels like a way for them to make me spend more money without me knowing.
Well where should I start...... Its a total yuppy ice cream store. My boss and her daughter and I came to grab ice cream and pet the farm animals that they have. We all went in and used the bathrooms. We got looked at like we were not welcome from both employees and customers. Needless to say we just left the store. We walked around to feed the animals. That was a disappointment as well. There was a lame baby sheep that needed medical attention. Poor little guy had a broken leg and got no help. Then we went to the chickens. That wasnt any better. All of the girls had their beaks cut so far back Im surprised they could eat or drink. Oh and right next to the tiny chicken coop was the cows. You could see every bone in the tailends of them. I really was disappointed. I have family that owns farms and they would never treat their livestock that way!! I would never support any business that is more concerned with making money than helping the animals that make it all possible!

Visit with the family and take in the scenery - gorgeous setting.Checkout their CSA for fresh fruits and veggies - supporting a local farm - priceless!

2022-06-15I absolutely LOVE this place. Hands down best ice cream in town if not the state. Colorful and whimsical flavors that can be overwhelming with choices, and thats a good thing! There are many reasons why this place is always packed but trust me, its worth the wait. Their staff is super friendly and appears to love what they do. This place makes summer season just that much better.

2022-05-25Ive been coming here since I was a child, for field trips before the Creamery even opened! Ever since the Creamery did open, it has always been my favorite place to get a delicious house made frozen treat! The ice cream is made from the milk from the cows who live on the farm, and the flavors are named after each cow! The flavors are unique and delcious, my favorite is the lavender and cream! Its beautiful and the animals are so fun to watch and feed!I cant wait to bring my friends here anytime they visit, and we always make great memories!Gorgeous scenery, delicious ice cream, local small business!

2020-08-16We love this place..Its a beautiful farm, animals to see, and an awesome family place to visit. Amazingly Delicious Fresh Eggs for sale and produce as well as there delicious fresh made ice cream. Our problem was the fact that it is a small building and way too many people are allowed in all at once. They have the dots and arrows, but the 6 ft separation is for each group, not per person. So, someone Really needs to Monitor the number of people in that small space. This is my only reason for the 3 star vs 5 star.
