I have worked for Children of America for over 5 years and it has been an amazing experience so far. What sets CoA apart from any other childcare center, or workplace, is the family like atmosphere. The lasting relationships that I have formed with families and my co-workers are something that I truly cherish! This is a fantastic place to build your career! Nothing but great things to say about CoA as childcare facility and workplace!
My child has been attending COA for over 3 years now. She is currently in Pre K and looks forward to going to school each day. Its comforting to know that while I am at work, my child is at a place where she is safe and well-cared for, while having a great time with teachers and friends whom we have come to know well over the years.Through creative projects, themes and activities, she is learning while having fun at the same time. Often when she wakes up in the morning, shell say, what day is today? By that she is not asking what day of the week it is but what fun activity is happening that day?! She especially enjoyed the summer program which had so many fun activities including water slide and sprinkler days, a magic show, petting zoo, dance party, yoga, puppet show and visit from a scientist. There is good communication between parents and teachers. I get daily updates including pictures and videos of what my child is doing so I can follow up with more in-depth questions about how her day went. When she was a baby, it was nice to get these updates because she couldnt tell me herself. Now its wonderful because she can answer my questions and explain away! She comes home with adorable art projects -there are so many that I have to pick and choose which ones to save! The teachers are caring and supportive. The Director, Durene, goes above and beyond. I appreciate that she takes the time to get to know the families and make them feel welcome. The Director and the other friendly staff are truly what give this city school a community feel. I highly recommend!
We have been part of the COA family for a few years now. When things started to get out of hand over the past few months I was going to pull both of my children out. The operations of the center started to go down and I was stressed out everyday worrying about the different issues that kept coming up. Thank goodness for the amazing teachers that my Pre-K and infant had (Ms. Patrice, Ms. Fatimah, Ms. Nicole, Ms. Angie and Ms. Melissa). I did not have to worry about my children physically because they were well taken care of. The director at that time also helped me out tremendously by addressing any concerns that I had but she only had so much control. I sent emails to the corporate office about my issues and they were bounced back to Chestnut Hill. When the center was transitioning with Directors I was discouraged again because I did not know what to expect. While the previous director was away on vacation a MAJOR issue came up in my infant sons class and it was not being addressed by staff members that were there. Ms. Carly Blythe was assisting while the director was away and she became my angel! As soon as she read my email she took immediate action and rectified the situation. Carly contacted me personally and apologized for it not being handled in a timely manner. Ever since that day Carly has gone above and beyond! She always has a smile on her face and will help out when there are concerns. I have to honestly say that part of the reason I kept my children here at COA is because of Carly (the other part is because of some of the amazing teachers). The staff that is in place now have been great and I can see the changes that are taking place. It seems like COA Chestnut Hill is going back to the way it was when my oldest son first started!!
My son has attended COA since he was a little over a year old. He is now a little over 2 and thriving thanks to all of the dedicated staff at COA. The entire staff is extremely caring, attentive, and actively involved in all aspects of the facility. He loves it there and half of the time I have to fight to get him to leave! He knows all of his teachers by name, he even knows all of his friends and even a lot of their parents as well. He learns new things and has new experiences daily. He took part in the in-house camp, and the activities have been just great. I am looking forward to all of the progress that he will continue to make since I hear nothing but good things from parents with older kids in Pre-K and Kindergarten. I would definitely recommend COA to all families.
My granddaughter has attended COA for the past 2 years. Durene the director is fabulous, along with Kathy and Barb. The staff makes your child feel special and welcome. My granddaughter runs into COA every morning excited to begin her day. She has learned so much. I have been very impressed.
My son had a traumatic experience attending this school on his first day of Pre-K (which also happened to be his first time at school). As a mom, I did my due diligence to make sure that this place would be a great fit for his early childhood education experience; however, to my horror, all I can say is that they tried to mend the situation AFTER the incident took place, which speaks volumes of their ability to keep protocol or even honestly and openly communicate with parents. On his first day of school, upon my arrival at the end of the day, I was horrified to find 4 claw-like scratches on his forehead--right temple area. No one could tell me what had happened, especially considering the fact that these were deep scratches that exposed deeper layers of skin. To this day, I wonder how long he spent with his wounds opened an unattended to during the school day. One of the aides nonchalantly said to me, he must have gotten it at the barber shop. What?! What professional in their right mind would tell a parent something as ridiculous as that? I photographed his scratch marks on the spot and tried in vain to get information. I even asked staff and administrators why they had notified me when I called that day and no one could give me a clear answer. Im glad that weve moved on since then, but the scars still remain (over a month since the incident) and I still wonder what happened.
Beware of fraudulent fees!We were charged for a week of our childs attendance when it was clearly explained that we were there would be no further charges. This incurred a overdraft charge on our bank account and a full days rate as a fee from Children of America for there being no funds. Despite being in error, they would not have the fee removed.:(
My son stayed there last Thursday and was covered in bed bug bites. I took him to urgent care and it was confirmed. The Vice President yelled at me and stated they did not come from there even though I dont have any in my home. A friend of mine informed me that other children have been pulled from the facility due to being bit in the past. Stay far away please!!!!
I am so grateful for everyone at COA. They totally embraced my daughter from day one. I couldnt ask for more qualified, caring, and quality people. My daughter has flourished since she has been enrolled from experiences like body painting, yoga, sorting Easter Eggs to learn colors, read a louds, dancing, blowing bubbles, even learning to cook and so much much more. The curriculum is excellent, but even more its the extra mile everyone is willing to go as it takes a village to raise a child. I highly recommend Children of America if you want the best for your family.

2019-10-31I have been working for Children of America Chestnut Hill for about two years. Working here has been a fun experience. The parents are awesome and very loving. The children really become your own like a little family at work. The director Ms.Nicole is awesome. She really cares about the children, families, and staff. She believes in promoting from within and helping all staff grow in their Early Childhood Education Career. You should enroll your child at Children of America Chestnut Hill so your child can become apart of a great family learning environment. Your child will be able to gain daily and monthly academic curriculum, presidential fitness, shake wiggle and grow, apple a day program (food program included in the tuition), always close by program (cameras), a HUGE INDOOR PLAYGROUND, and every summer we have an AWESOME CAMP PROGRAM CALLED CAMP WOW! We also have Kindergarten and Before and After Care for our School Age Program.

2017-07-25I have had the pleasure of having both of my kids attend COA. My son who is now 6 started when he was 2 and has graduated from their kindergarten program. He remains in their before and after school program as well as their summer camp. My daughter who is 3 is enrolled in their Pre K program. I have nothing but good things to say about the program and the incredible staff that makes it run. Both of my kids love going to COA everyday to the point they rush to get to their classes and forget to say goodbye. The teaching staff is friendly and knowledgeable and have come up with very creative ways to get the kids to learn. The administrative staff has always been helpful and responsive to my needs and concerns. I cant think of a better group of people to entrust the education and the well being of the two most important people to me.

2017-07-26My niece has attended COA for the past two years. This facility works diligently to ensure a welcoming, friendly, and enriching learning environment. The teachers and staff know every childs name and make an effort to have a connection with each family. My nieces teacher has been nothing short of spectacular -- she makes sure her classroom has fun lessons, strong friendships, and a feeling of security. My niece loves it here and never wants to leave. The Director Durene also goes above and beyond to make creative events that get the kids excited including a water slide, face painting, popsicle day, a dance party, and a sports demonstration. I would highly recommend this day care to everyone -- the staff all love what they do and you can tell the second you walk through the door. I am sure your family will love it there just as much as mine does!

2018-10-16We drop our daughter off at COA everyday and are happy that we know she is with people who care about her well being, her development, and her health. It was important that we found a place that had strict standards of care, and being a national chain, COA has guidelines, policies, and procedures that are in line with our families believes and desires. My husband and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the exceptional caregivers at COA Chestnut Hill. Our daughters primary care givers Ms. Fatimah and Ms. Patrice are lovely women who answer all of our questions and are excited to see our daughter and the other children each day. They are knowledgeable when we ask infant related questions, which is incredible reassuring as a brand new parent! They know all the best songs, stories, and activities to keep the youngest kids engaged throughout the week. The entire staff ensures that the children are familiar with other caregivers as well, so when aftercare is needed our daughter doesn’t feel alone, but is with a friendly, familiar face. The free tadpoles app that COA engages to allow parents and caregivers to communicate daily schedules and notes is not something we found at any of the other 6 facilities we looked at before choosing COA. It’s such a great enhancement and provides an area for the teachers to share pictures of the different activities the kids participate in during the day with us. Bottom line, we are very happy we chose COA!

2017-10-14I have been working as a pre k assistant teacher for almost 3 years at this center. I can tell you that I have nothing but respect for my fellow teachers and directors. we work together to ensure that your children are well taken care of and looked after. We teach them new and exciting educational lessons each week. There is a strong bond between the staff and the directors and we go above and beyond to ensure your childrens safety. The teachers take pride in caring for their students. Every child is special to us teachers. We have great relationships with the parents and families. I enjoy teaching your children. I have connected with so many families from infants to school age. I look forward to getting to know you, the parents of all the children. I always enjoy coming to work each day. Each and every child brightens my day. I love my co-workers and the directors, they are my family. This job is my home away from home and each child has and always will have a special place in my heart all the years to come. I work with the best co teacher as well as the many other teachers I work with. I made the best decision when I started working here. Your children are in great hands and we as teachers will always care about you the parents and your children

2019-06-27Ms. Patrice, Ms Dana, Ms Sheila, Ms Jasmine, Ms Ditria, Ms Victoria and Ms Melissa are why my son still goes to COA, (along with every other amazing teacher there). They deserve more love and appreciation! Administration should advocate for them because they make a HUGE difference in our childrens lives. They make leaving my son in daycare for 10 hours a day tolerable and positive experience. I know he is loved and learning!

2019-09-14My child has been at Children’s of America for almost one full year now! In the beginning I was extremely happy until my child entered the preschool class (mrs victoria)I’ve noticed bruises on my child and when I questioned the teacher she would literally laugh and brush it off. And on another occasion my child was left wearing soiled clothing for half of the day because his teacher insisted it was spilled milk not urine! I personally feel COA should incorporate more training for SOME of the teachers. Overall it’s a good school with a couple bad apples for teachers. Would recommend for toddler class.

2019-01-30We began taking our daughter to CoA-Chestnut HIll at 3 months old, and have been delighted with the care she has received in the 14 months since. The facility is clean, well-laid out, and full of stimulating toys and learning supplies for the children. The teachers take a personal approach to each child, know their personalities and needs, and have even offered us helpful parenting advice. Daily reports on food, sleep, diaper contents, and activities give us important information about our daughter. We have enthusiastically recommended CoA to several other families.
