We attempted to use the KBB Instant Cash Offer program at this participating dealership to sell our used car. They are unaware or just dont care how the program works and tried to offer us $2000 less than the Instant Cash Offer price without even seeing the car. It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Luckily, we found another local participating dealership and and had a lovely 30 minute in and out process for selling our car.
I came to look at a 2002 Tacoma which was listed on the site for $8,990. I also called and confirmed this. I drove an hour from Lancaster to look at it and was then told the price was $9,990. Some mumbo jumbo about internet prices being 1k less than the actual price. A price is a price in my opinion, and even $8,990 was about $1,000 more than this truck was worth.I brought a 98 Jeep in good to very good condition for a trade. Even on the low end, this is worth at least $3,200 in trade in value. The final price for the Tacoma was going to be over 10k, WITH the trade!!! I forget the actual total, because I was so upset I just got up and left.A giant waste of time for me. I hardly ever do a Google review unless an experience is at the extreme end of the scale of good or bad. And this definitely qualifies as the extreme low end. But then again, I had checked the Google reviews before I came so I guess I should have expected it.They sent me an email asking about my experience. The above is what I sent for a reply. They never responded so I guess my experience is just the way they do business.
The service department at this location is phenomenal! Just throughly impressed with everyone I have interacted with. Will is an excellent Tech who actually went out his way to stay late after hours to answer a bunch of my questions and it was during this time period that I realized just how incredibly skilled and knowledgeable this man is. He gives me the utmost most confidence when working on my car and this is not something I take for granted. Will and everyone else here is phenomenal including my service advisor Jo. This is the only location that I will be bringing my new Sonata Nline to going forward. When time for a new car they will also be where I get it from and I plan on reccomending them to relatives as well.
Excellent sales person but had agreed upon terms that dealer (sales manager and finance manager) changed after we came back to the dealership to finalize the deal. Even though car was then more expensive and interest rate higher than what we agreed upon, the sales manager tried to convince me I was actually getting a better deal. And the Finance manager was rude when I questioned him about the changed terms. At the last minute, they also add hundreds of dollars in overly-priced add ons like rain-proofing.
The service I received was very unprofessional. I reached out about buying an SUV and gave the live chat responder my email for someone to contact me. Gian Rodriguez emailed me, and while I let him know I was in the market to purchase today/ASAP, he only replied with mostly one word answers. Not the kind of service I would expect from someone trying to make a sale. The 3 star rating shouldve been the first red flag. Im glad I didnt waste anymore of my time.
Reviews from the prior owners complained of extra added fees but I decided to give them a try anyways since it was under new management. $1200 in added fluff for windshield coating, nitrogen filled tires, windshield etching and a pre delivery inspection. After taking 4 hours to get me signed and gone I didnt feel like arguing. Buyer beware.
We came here after getting horrible customer service at Jeff DAmbrosio. We wanted to trade in our daughters 2007 Mini Cooper for a new car. Mike, our sales guy, couldnt have been nicer. He answered all our questions & we left there with a brand new Hyundai Venue which our daughter loves. Weve already recommended this place to 2 of our friends. We hope to keep coming back here for our future car needs 😁
The service department here is excellent. I trust them fully and they do high quality work without. Michelle, Jo and Will are whom I have worked with the most and every interaction with them has been a very positive experience for both me and my vechile. As a result, this is the only location I will continue bringing my car to for regular maintenance and/or repairs. They do also seem to have a significantly better inventory of new and used cars than other Hyundai/Genesis dealers out there. Hyundai must also like them otherwise they would not send them as many cars and SUVs. Many other locations have next to nothing on their lots for what it is worth.
You have got to come here if you need a car! They are amazing and go the extra mile. Ask for Darnell. Darnell and George made my families dreams come true. I cant tell you how happy i am with my experience here! Thank you so much colonial Hyundai! And especially Darnell. Youre the best
We were looking for a specific model and trim that was hard to find (Elantra GT Sport 6MT). Jessica Dean was helpful at sourcing and notified us of their inventory prior to visiting the dealer per my request.Once confirmed, she scheduled us for an appointment and introduced us to our sales rep upon arrival. Our sales rep Lou was down to earth guy and great to deal with, he gave us a good tour of the car, a long test drive for both my wife and I and overall made things easy. Both Lou and Vince honored the advertised incentives and although we had our own private financing, we were still treated like a valued customer.Rob from financing was also able to meet our budget for an extended warranty (from an already excellent one!).The only negative is they dont accept a credit card down payment over 2k without getting charged extra fees. Our plan was to put 5k down on a single card (take advantage of reward points) but had to use a debit for the balance. Had I known this would be an issue, we would of just brought cash to make things easier.Other than that, AMAZING experience, Colonial has a large inventory and their staff are some of the best in the industry.PS. We went out of our way to shop here, over 2 hours away in New Jersey! Although out of the way, will definitely consider them again in the future again.
We just purchased a new Hyundai and ican t begin to tell you how great the team at Colonial was.we had our 2 yo grandson with us and for the entire 3 hours we were there they all played with and entertained him .Lou actually got down on the floor to play ball with him.He even called next day to make sure my grandson got home safely.
Price gouging! Found a car online that they had in inventory and setup an appointment to test drive. They raised the price $5k above their online listed price. The salesman was was unattentive and unprofessional. Dont waste your time with this dealership, go elsewhere.
MICHELLE YOU ARE A HORRIBLE PERSON !!! My wife came home crying after trying to schedule a service appointment at Colonial Hyundai. After a long day at work and just recently losing our son my wife stopped by to set up a service appointment because the engine in our 2016 Hyundai is making a knocking sound . The way that Michelle acted toward my wife was unacceptable and she needs to be fired immediately. I would go into detail but I’m getting frustrated just typing this message . I will be calling the owner of the dealership . My advice is STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
Rip-off. False advertising. False pricing. Dishonest and deceitful. Bogus fees. Flat out lies. Go somewhere else. Read the Google reviews. You will see they are dirty. You will want to stay far away. they advertised a car I wanted to get for my son who just started driving. on Facebook it was listed for $1990. After testing the car and all we decided we wanted it. My wife and son were with me. they came back with a price of $4080. That is more than double the price. They said they had a hidden additional price of 990 that was added besides taxes and tags. I said no. They said you can take it or leave it someone else is ready to buy the car right now. They sold it. I said no. Before I left I asked for information. The GM David Smith said he would help me out he had a trade in on a newer car. He said more than once he would sell it to me for 2500 out the door. I said I would consider it. I had him put it in writing before I left along with the car fax and vehicle Vin. he calls me and tells me it is ready. So after Im on my way he sends me text trying to up the price. I get there and look it over and decide ok Ill take it at the agreed upon price. they come back with a total of $3947. I said that isnt what was agreed upon. The price was 2850 + 598 transportation delivery fee. I said no. and called Dave they refused to honor the price of 2500 or remove the bogus fee of 598 They are not people you should deal with. they dont do what is right.
As soon as I came I was welcomed by shank unforgettable car salesguy, came in for the specific car (black 2018 hyundai elantra gt sport 6 Mt) , and they had it avaliable. best feeling ever 😊😊👌👌👌 the process was fantastic, the whole time I felt like I was with friends and family in this dealer. A+++++
Every single person we met there at this dealership helped us a lot. Theyre friendly and made us feel like were their new family members.Especially Lou (louis Ziegler), hes the best sales agent ever!!! His attitude beginning to end was priceless. He answered all our questions and clarified every little detail that we had in our mind. Were going to lease a car for my husband and hes the person made us to go back and get another Hyundai very soon.
Went to this place to buy a new Hyundai Elantra. After agreeing to pay over $3,000 the MSRP (which, while ridiculous, isn’t what I am writing this review about), I put my $500 deposit down. Two weeks later, which is when they said the car would arrive, I give them a call to get an ETA on the arrival. I was then informed that not only was the car not there, it would never be there. Not one person could give me the same story. One said that “It had been shipped to a different Hyundai dealership and sold to someone else”, another said “It was ruined due to salt water while being freighted over to the US”, to list a few of their excuses.Whatever, I was fine rolling with whatever they said, it just gave me an excuse to buy a different car from a more honest and professional dealership. The main reason I am writing this review is because I had called them multiple times for a refund on my deposit. I’ve called once every couple of weeks and they have said each time that I will be getting it within three to five days. This has been going on well over a month.I haven’t received it, and they continue to dodge my calls. The rude front desk folks also won’t even take a message for me. Just avoid this place. They will up charge you a whole lot because they can, and they will not honor your deposit let alone refund it when they don’t follow through with the car purchase.EDIT: I would also like to add, for those folks looking to trade in their cars at this place, that they have all of these “promotions and deals”, such as their guaranteed $6000 for used cars during a trade-in “regardless of condition.” They just post them to rope folks in even though they have no intention of actually following the deals.
My husband Pete and I had high expectations as our salesman Daniel spoke of his admiration of the Colonial Hyundai dealership and their high ethical conduct. We admire such rare qualities that unfortunately are no longer the norm today. We thought this purchase would be our Christmas present but it was not to be. Dave the owner is the grinch who stole our Christmas present by lying to us and selling our genesis to the next customer who came in the next day and paid a higher price after we had already made an agreement to buy it. We had agreed to purchase it as Daniel can testify. I believe he is ethical even if his boss isn’t. Apparently their Integrity is not worth the $3000 extra they received from the next customer. Hope Dave goes to confession if he is a Catholic because he is definitely not destined to heaven!
Absolutely LOVE the AMAZING PEOPLE that makes that place feel a warm welcome! I didnt know that my car was unsafe to drive. Thank God for Jo, mechanic & the owner. Downingtown Hyundai THANK YOU!🤗Im truly grateful for people that still actually care about me & my children safety. When yall go to Downingtown Hyundai - request this Amazing Woman named Jo.🥰
It took us 6 hours, but we drove off with an amazing vehicle. We took our time, including an extended test drive for lunch, drove four or five cars that were all very impressive, but in the end, the Ioniq Hybrid was the overall winner...Customer service, helpfulness and knowledge, as well as the ability to take the car out for a spin by ourselves, willingness to bring out four different vehicles for us to test drive all made our experience here exceptional. We already own a Santa Fe that was there for service, so naturally, we went to check out whats new in the showroom :))The price haggling is the complete opposite of what I call enjoyable, but overall, Evan and Steve worked with us and we got a decent deal on what we needed.
False Advertising! This dealer is just trying to take advantage! I drove an hour away with my family ready to purchase or lease a vehicle they had listed on their website. MSRP for the vehicle was $29,000 and their website claims to offer $1,500 in discounts and they had a special on their website to lease for $189/ with $3,000 down for 36 months. I already knew I wanted this vehicle, it was just a matter of them honoring what they had listed on their website. After they ran their numbers they came back to me with a monthly payment of $375 dollars to lease. At this point I told them I would buy the vehicle in cash, that is when they gave me a price of $32,000 - $1,500 in incentives. I explained that the price of the vehicle is listed on their website for $29,000 and the sticker on the window of the car also said $29,000. That is when I was told Everybody is adding $3,000 to the price right now. Absolutely ridiculous! They are only trying to help themselves and do not care about the satisfaction of their customers. I would highly recommend finding another Hyundai dealership to go to.
My husband and I purchased a 2015 Genesis from this dealership I. April 2021. They told us the car was great,we test drove it,loved it and made the purchase. We had to wait at the dealership 4hrs while they detailed and inspected the vehicle. We were told everything was great and we were good to go. 2 wks after purchase the brakes were making noise and the driver side back window dont work. We brought it back to get it rectified and was told they would call us when the part for the window came in and the brakes were fine no problems!!!!! Fast forward to June just 2 months after purchase my husband and I were driving WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR and the brakes start grinding so bad I was scared to drive!!! We immediately called the dealership and they told us the car passed inspection and the brakes were fine at inspection!!! The very next day we took our car to the repair shop where we had to replace brakes and rotors in the front and also 4 brand new tires which were bald!!!!! Serviceman at the shop said the car should HAVE NEVER passed inspection!!!! There was no way in 2 months the brakes and tires would be that bad!!!!! I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!!!!! Hyundai Genesis are really nice cars,we love ours but this dealership is the pits!!!! Go elsewhere for ur Genesis needs and purchases!!!!!
Wanted to take the time to write a review on my experience of buying a used car. My sales representative was Evan. Evan did a great job working with me to help decide on the purchase of my car. I took a long time to decide and they worked with me on the price and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible to make my decision. Chris Stevens assisted Evan to help make my decision a confident one, Chris was also great to work with. What I liked was the honesty, and what I mean by that is; the Carfax statement showed the car had no accidents but Evan was honest enough to tell me that yes it states no accidents but he told me that some cosmetic work was done to the bumper to fix a scuff which he didnt have to do. I appreciated his honesty. I dont understand some of the negative reviews I read about this dealership. I purchased many cars in my lifetime and every person I talked at this dealership, including the owner, service staff and Sean the finance guy were awesome treating you as if you were a friend. One of the best experiences and I highly recommend buying a vehicle from them.
Horrible experience! Manager comes out and says we can either buy the car at this price or he’ll sell it tomorrow. I said I didn’t appreciate being pressured when I’m just trying to get the best deal. My husband and I told them we would buy the car and the salesman came back and said actually we no longer want to go through with the deal. So within 5 minutes we went from the salesman congratulating us on our new car to coming back and saying sorry guys no deal. Unheard of!!! Waste of time! Manager was arrogant and cost that salesman a sale!
Excellent, knowledgeable staff especially Dan. Took his time to find the perfect car for me. Made shopping for a car an enjoyable experience. I rate him 5 stars. I would recommend Downingtown Hyundai to everyone. I love the car. It drives so much nicer than my 2016 Toyota. Fast service too. He took the pain out of trading my old car, getting new tags and insurance. Dan went out of his way to teach me the new safety and technology features. He made himself available to answer any questions I may have now and in the future.
I absolutely love our Hyundai Santa Fe Sport! My experience with Jim Ballezzi was top notch! He was organized, professional, direct, and went out his way to help my husband and I. Tammy Zegac is a sweetheart! She was very knowledgeable and was awesome in getting us set up with the vehicle. Rob Barba has a funny personality so it relaxed us and helped in making sure we understood our finance documents and got the warranties and coverages we needed at an affordable payment. It was a beautiful showroom and everything was clean and everyone was super nice! Definitely recommend EVERYONE to come here! Thanks guys!
Salesman and staff were very friendly during my time there. BUT They are way over charging for vehicles like most dealers. They were not fully upfront with pricing during negotiation. Everything was done verbally besides an initial offer which was comically $9k over the MSRP on Hyundai’s website. Still not sure how they got there. I’d recommend to the staff that they print out offers or simply show offers on the computer so the customer can see breakdown of base price, fees, taxes ect. I believe I could have saved a lot of time if this was done. The process was made more frustrating than it needed to be. After all the time there, I still have no clue what the base price of the car was for the final offer of monthly payment. I’d assume this was the case because it was over MSRP & I was insistent on paying no market adjustments.Overall, I suspect they are just another dealer trying to confuse & pressure you into making a deal. I had initially had an excellent experience but after coming to terms with a monthly payment I could afford, they informed me this did not include tax. Which essentially means, that isnot my monthly payment as discussed. This would add $40-50 to my monthly payment which they knew & didn’t make clear after I said my budget was pretty much capped at the prior figure. After learning this it made a lot more sense why they would not print out anything with pricing. They kept telling me they needed my credit, a deposit & an agreement first which no dealer has ever told me before. I almost always get multiple price quotes during a negotiation. I suspect they wanted me to put a deposit in & then get stuck when I did the final paper work. Its a shame they were not more upfront, I really liked the car & may have been able to swing a bigger downpayment to lower the monthly.
This was by far the best car buying experience I have had yet!! I had two past experiences with dealers near my hometown and Colonial blew them out of the water. I traded in a vehicle to purchase a 2015 VW Golf. The dealership gave me a fair amount for my trade in, and gave me a great deal on my VW!! They are truly a no BS dealer; they made me a great deal and didnt try to add any unnecessary extras. Not only that, all of the staff was extremely personable and hospitable. While my boyfriend and I waited, they provided us with bottled water, snacks, and friendly conversation. From the first time I called this dealership, everyone was so helpful and friendly, as if they already knew who I was! Even though its a 3.5 hour drive from my location, Id recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle!! Special thanks to Gian and Evan, and all the members of the financial and sales team. Youre doing it right!
Highly recommend! just bought my son a car here. Our saleswoman Sarah was extremely professional and we never once felt pressured to buy. She helped make the process as smooth as possible. Definitely will be my first stop for future vehicles. Thanks for making it a great experience for us
Stopped in to make a service appointment for my Veloster N. Service Advisor Jo Miller was very helpful and knowledgeable. Walked through the showroom after making the appointment and a Salesmen asked me if I needed help and what kind of car I currently own. I told him I have a Veloster N. He then said oh you have a classic., they stopped making them about 5 years ago right? WOW
Hyundai owner for a while...Recently had a service situation that Colonial helped us with...Donna and the team at Colonial were EXCEPTIONAL!She turned what could have been a miserable experience into something that was easy to deal with. Communication = excellent. Service = excellent. So very happy about how things turned out! Thank you to Donna and Jo and the crew behind the scenes!
I went to this dealership yesterday to see if I can trade my car for something bigger and comfortable and I would give him 200% to my salesmen named Steven cause he went above and beyond by listening to my likes and dislike and at the end of it he was able to get a car that I really love it
Tammy was an outstanding sales representative. She answered all of our questions without any issues. The rest of the process and people need some work. The pricing is not transparent. Everyone knows dealerships need to make money. It would be nice to know the up-charges/ add-ons before I have the final docs sitting in front of me. It would also be nice to have time to read over what I’m signing without the sales member getting irritated and feeling rushed.I had a few issues I called back for, the first being no Bluelink in the vehicle (which we were told it had). Nothing the dealership can do about it; I chalked it up as a loss. The second, being, Crystal Fusion (a $300 up-charge) being added to the sale. The funny thing is I paid for it, and it was not applied. The first rainstorm we encountered, I had to pull over because we could not see out the windshield. I called Tammy, and again she was great and got me a solution.I received a phone call from the GM; the solution is to mail me the Crystal Fusion to apply myself. He then tells me that they gave me a great deal and that new vehicles have a $5k up-charge, and I didn’t have to pay that. Well, I didn’t have to pay that because I did my homework and checked around to multiple dealerships, but thanks for your courtesy? Expressing to a customer the great deal they got is terrible for business and is undoubtedly not family-like. I came to your dealership because of the online price and the internet sales rep (G). He was accommodating and professional. This dealership has some diamonds in the rough, with Tammy and G; so far, I am not impressed with the rest of the members. I won’t be a part of this family. Best wishes!
Couldnt give less than 1 star or I would. What a waste of my time going to Colonial Hyundai. Everything about my experience here just felt wrong. What a joke! Between the flyer to get you in the door(worth nothing) , the bait and switch pricing ,and being insulted by the sales lady the only thing I left with was frustrated. Be ready to haggle and dont be surprised when they try to sell you something out of your price range and not what you asked for. Great experience with car shop. Go there save yourself from being ripped off.
Theyve gone the extra mile for us twice in the last two years. First, we bought a Kona about a year and a half ago, and then my fiancé needed a new car and we just purchased an Elantra from them. The buying experience with them has been nothing short of excellent. Christina is an excellent saleswoman and ensures you truly love whatever car you choose. And, their finance team goes above and beyond to ensure you leave with a payment you feel comfortable with. Ive never felt swindled or pressured by them like I have with other car companies. We are members of the Colonial family for life. I doubt I ever purchase a vehicle anywhere else. If youre in the market for a new car, go see Christina and the team at Colonial!
I got my car in 2016 brand new, thinking it would be a great deal I was totally wrong. First of all my car payment is really high, which I make sure I pay on time every month. I only had the car for almost five years and my car isn’t keeping oil, and went to the dealership since it was under warranty and they didn’t even fix the problem it’s either Leaking or Burning oil. They did convinced me to replace other things and change me over 7 hundred dollars for work I don’t think I need, and I’m still having problems with my car because I’m always putting oil in it even after I get an oil change. Now my warranty has ran out, there is no way I can get my oil problem fix because the dealership made sure to give me the run around so they can take more money from me. I have a terrible car, and I’m still paying for it. And I can’t afford to get it fix or get a new car. So if anyone is thinking of buy a car get it somewhere else. It’s wrong for them to take advantage of hard working people, it would be wrong for me to miss a payment.
If zero were an option, I’d have chosen that for their customer service. I went to inquire about my current lease. The salesman took my information and ran a credit check which put a hard check on my credit which was irrelevant to my visit. Then he said he would call me which he never did. I called Chris, one of the managers who also never bothered to return my call. I will not be a returning customer!
Horrible experience. I was shopping around for a car for weeks and knew about what my budget was and had gotten consistent interest rates for my budget. I called and asked to test drive a specific certified preowned vehicle on the website. It is only 1 year old and had only several thousand miles on it. I test drove it and loved it. I was told they had a similar vehicle in stock just new and that I would get a better deal on that vehicle. I was told only the seat color was different so I said ok and only looked at the vehicle and did not test drive it. I signed the paperwork and left and not even 15 minutes away I called and told them immediately I want the car I test drove. The car I was sold looked cheaply made. There was no console rest just a plastic hole. (Not a compartment and arm rest like the one I test drove) the seat was lopsided and I leaned toward the side with no arm rest. It looked cheap and was NOTHING like the car I test drove. The manager financing my car quoted me higher rates for the preowned vehicle than the new one even though the preowned vehicle cost less, was only 1 model year older and had only a couple thousand miles on it. I’ve been looking at all preowned vehicles previously to this and know that I could finance older cars with more miles on them for the same price and get lower payments. When questioned the dealership showed me a paper with a higher price than the internet price and said it was because of “taxes” but there was an additional line for taxes so they drove the price up from the internet advertised price. (It was not taxes and fees because those were added on separate lines) Long story short despite me not being comfortable or happy I was not given any options other than to spend MORE money. I went back within an hour try to remedy the situation but they would only offer me more expensive loan payments for more expensive cars. I’ve gone to at least 5 dealerships within the past week and have never been pushed or felt forced to go beyond my budget or to ONLY purchase a new car. I regret going here and will never go back to this dealership.
We purchased a Hyundai Ioniq from Colonial in December 2020. All was going pretty well, but the communication from the dealership was not so great. We took delivery of our car and the salesperson took us through lots of things on the car, but was not familiar or comfortable with a totally electric vehicle.Charging of the car...He told us to just plug in the included cord and let it charge.. easy peasy. NOT.. the cord provided is a household type cord and not one to use with a fast charger. Our apartment has the 220v outlet but we need the cord. So, I contacted Michael and asked if he could direct me on where to get the correct cord. I had already looked on the Hyundai website and there was nothing. He told me that he had no idea other than plugging into a regular household outlet, as he has a plug-in hybrid and that is all he does....Flat out said he did not know, but, when we figure it out to call and let him know! Also, we never received our registration.. now it is 4 months since we took delivery of the car. I left 3 messages .no response.Service after the sale is terrible. My VW lease runs out soon and we were considering a Hyundai at Colonial. That wont happen.
Ive been buying cars for over 45 years. This was my 4th car purchase from them. Everyone knows what a process it can be to buy a car these days. Colonial makes the process much more honest and straight forward. The Hyundai cars Ive bought have been excellent buys for the money. With Colonial working with me. I travel almost 40 miles to go to them to buy. I highly recommend them to everyone. Drive to Downingtown from Philly, Wilmington or anywhere in the area. You wont regret it. Ask for Tammy, shes been great, even after my purchase.
We appreciate the honest and helpful information that Michael W. provided us with to help us browse through our options and make a decision. He was also thorough in explaining to us the details and the next steps, and assured us that we can always contact him for any questions we may have about the vehicle or their services. It was an exceptional service overall.
This is the worst dealership experience i ever got. i was in the market for a 2021 Hyundai Pallisade.i saw one in their inventory both on car gurus and their website.i called to confirm the price i saw because i had to drive for 2 hours to get there. When i arrived there, i was received by a Terrible sales guy.he was very rude and not willing to answer my questions. i told him to go get someonelse because i am not dealing with him.He went and got another sales guy who then jacked the price up by 5k.
RUN AWAY !!!!!If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would.I came to this dealer from Delaware because of the Costco car buying program. Mistake #1..I bought a 2020 Hyundai Elantra from here and it has to be the worst customer service I have ever come across. This was the first time buying a car for me, and they made the experience a nightmare. There were multiple instances where the salesperson/GM flat out lied to me. I purchased the car in July and did not receive my registration until the end of DECEMBER. I had to continue to go to the DMV and get new temp tags. And when I asked the DMV to look for the paperwork submitted by Hyundai it was no where to be found. I tried getting in contact with someone from Hyundai to talk about this multiple times. Nothing. I called the tag registration company that Hyundai uses and she told me the DMV lied to me about the documents not being submitted, and that she was unable to show me proof of when the documentation was submitted after several times of me asking for it...?Finally after months of calling and trying to figure this out. I got in contact with the Controller, Pat Evans. I told her everything, how I felt that I was taken advantage of because I was a first time car buyer. She assured me the problem would be solved and I would be reimbursed for the extra tags, etc.. Again, not solved. After five months of this nonsense, I GO TO the dealership (which is 50 minutes away from my home) and essentially demand that I spoke to the GM. The salesman there didnt listen to a word I said, he was interrupting me and told me he would write a note for the GM to call me the next day. Finally we get in contact. After I told him Id be perusing legal action and to the better business bureau my tags came in the mail. I tried scheduling three phone calls with this man to try and get refunded. One phone call, he HUNG UP ON ME mid conversation and said he would call me back as he was having a family emergency. Of course, not a problem call me when back when you get a chance. Never calls me back. So I text him again about scheduling a time to talk. He says how about at 11:30, I said unfortunately I cannot, can you do later? And you guessed it!!!!! Again, nothing. The entire situation was absolutely ridiculous. I had to pay for multiple temp tags, had to take off of work so I could go to the DMV, and on multiple occasions was lied to. Listen to this review and dont even waste your time here. And avoid this dealership at all costs. An actual nightmare. If I could return my car so that I never had to deal with them again I would.
I really liked the salesman and the car I purchased. Otherwise it was a bad experience.*Update* - Despite the bad experience I had with the finance department when purchasing the car, I decided to take the car to the service department for regular oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections so they would update the Carfax report. I have taken it there regularly since I bought it.They recently told me that my car failed inspection due to the tire tread being 1/32 of an inch. I took the car to a tire dealer to buy tires, and they measured the tire tread at 6/32 and told me that my tires are about halfway through their lifecycle. I will not be going back to Colonial Hyundai to either purchase a car or to have them service my vehicle.
I brought my 2014 Sonata in for warranty service, because the electrical system was completely dead. I had it towed to the dealer, and we arrived right at 6pm which is the usual closing time for service. Service associate Donna was very helpful, and stayed over to help me get a loaner vehicle and schedule the service the next day.The next day (3/26/15) I called Jim, who was assigned to our vehicle, and he informed me that the battery was completely dead and would not take a charge, but was under warranty coverage and the cost would be taken care of. When I picked up the vehicle Jim was also very friendly and I was on my way very quickly and efficiently. You have a great service staff, as I have always received exceptional service at your dealership! Thanks Colonial Hyundai!!!
Dealing with Marvin and talkin to the rest staff whats great. But when hustled into the back room to sign the papers with Rob whats not a great experience at all. Other reviews say Rob is no longer with him, hes there. He has the personality of a rock and its not very pleasant to deal with it all. When come time to sign the contract it was $495 more an agreed-upon. He wasnt very happy with that but had to change it and when I did not buy the extended warranty he even got more of an attitude. If I had not liked the car so well I would have walked out and flew back to North Carolina. Be careful with dealing with them I wish. I read the reviews beforehand. The car was way over filled with oil and power steering fluid. The service department has issues
I went to colonial Hyundai as they were listed as a Costco preferred dealer. I filled out the necessary information and was contacted by colonial. I explained to them the exact vehicle I was searching for, including model and trim, and mentioned that I saw several on their website that I would like to come in, see, drive, and potentially purchase that day. I was told an appointment was set up for me and the exact vehicles i wanted to see would be ready. When I arrived from about an hour away it turned out the vehicles were never there. They were vehicles that were on order but were not on the lot. The bottom line is colonial Hyundai will say anything just to get bodies to show up at their dealership. No apology from a manager, nothing offered for wasting my time. I am looking forward to being contacted by Costco (as they always follow up) and sharing my disgust with colonial Hyundai. [Updating my review to state it has been a months since the reply below and the only contact I received was a mass marketing sales email. Doesnt take months to figure out i was lied to]
Colonial Hyundai offers great service. I am in the high risk group for this virus and had my grandson drop my car off for me. They took care of the service I had requested in a timely manner and called to confirm I was ok with the service after my grandson picked my car up. I would highly recommend them. When there was ever a question about any service needed, the dealership has always honored the time old the customer comes first policy.
Not returning to this dealership. Many staff members were rude and made condescending remarks to me during my visit. Also, I called multiple times to get to the service department, the woman was annoyed because she had to keep connecting me since the service department wasn’t answering. The dealership also enforces everyone to wear a mask, yet the staff does not wear masks or if they do, they aren’t on properly. The cashier had hers under her chin while assisting me. What is the point of a mask if it isn’t covering your mouth and nose?I am also up charged on services every time I go. Would not recommend for those looking for good customer service or an ethical dealership.
Just bought a car the other day from Colonial. Couldnt be more satisfied with the team there. I was welcomed right when I walked in the door and they got me a cup of coffee. It was a Wednesday night, so it was not busy at all. Everyone I worked with there was straight forward and clearly very competent at their jobs. In no way did I feel under pressure or that they were trying by shady about fees or price. Randy was my sales guy and I was thankful for the all the assistance. This was my first time buying a car and I was a little unsure of how it all worked. He walked me through step by step. The other members of the team were also great to work with. Highly recommend going here if you have had a bad experience in the past.
Unfortunately wasted our time last night. We told them before we drove almost 2 hours where we needed to be and what we wanted.. said they could do it, once we show up they threw on a ton of add ons we didnt want as well as playing the typical dealer tricks. Not impressed with our time there. Not to mention the car has a lot of faults that were no mentioned. All 4 rims were messed up pretty bad, bumped was hit or someone hit something and was cracked, all of the tented windows were completely pealing and could not see out of the back window it was so bad... etc.
Beware of their online postings vs. their real prices. This dealership posts to apps and when the app doesnt supply their fine print- then the customer has an unrealistic expectation when visiting the dealership. After their false advertising- they were still not flexible with pricing. The GM argues with the customer and was extremely belittling. We dealt with two different Sales Reps, one was very unprofessional, standing very close to me (I was by myself when I first went to look at the car) and not leaving me alone, and when I would take a step back, he stepped closer again. It made me very uncomfortable. The next sales rep was very nice. If you insist on going to this dealership- Id recommend working with Walt or Lou- they were nice. However, I wouldnt recommend going to this place at all. We were prepared to buy, they knew that, and they were still rude, condescending, and unapologetic for their own advertising errors.
My husband and I came in looking for a great vehicle that was safe for us and our 2 year old son. Brad Triplett helped through every single step and give us the most amazing customer service experience at any dealership we’ve ever been to. We had every question answered and he found us the perfect car! He was professional and had a great personality. Beyond happy with the experience we had with Brad and the whole dealership as a whole. Will be buying all our cars there in the future!
Recently purchased a Genesis. I worked with Lindsay and Katie--both of whom were a pleasure to deal with. This was by far the most pleasant car buying experience Ive ever had.Katie answered all of my questions and was very accommodating to my family (my parents and newborn were with us at the dealership). Due to my work schedule, I was able to work out most of the deal remotely, and Katie graciously stayed late so I could pick up the car after work. No aggressive/cheap sales tactics that are so typical of other dealerships, and I received the best deal!Financing was also a breeze and the financing manager was also a pleasure to deal with. Colonial is a wonderful dealership without any of the big box vibe. I would recommend Katie, Lindsay, and the rest of the Colonial team to anyone, and look forward to doing business with them again.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Colonial Hyundai. The Salesman, Angelo, was fantastic from start to finish - very knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly personable. Angelo and the staff at Colonial made buying our new Palisade enjoyable. We will definitely come back and work with Angelo as well as the other team members at Colonial Hyundai.
My experience could have been better. I had 9:30 am appointment to have my car serviced . My car was to take 3 hours. No one informed me that they were running behind. My car was taken 1 hour and 17 minutes later. Finally 5 hours later my car was complete. Service people need to be trained in people skills. A courtesy phone call telling me that the service center was running behind would have been nice. I spent an entire day off from work getting my car serviced. I also have a 1 hour commute to get to colonial Hyundai. During those 5 hours no one came up to me to keep me informed on the status of my car.
Angelo Popovsky and staff made us feel like celebrities, we truly feel they went above and beyond to give us the best deal we could get. Vince noticed my veterans status on my drivers license and gave us an additional discount. Hyundai cares about veterans and first responders. All the employees we encountered acted like a team or a family working together to get a deal we would be happy with. it was the most positive car buying experience weve ever had. Angelos name does not appear in the list below but I would give him a rating of 10 stars if I could, he noticed that my birthday was coming up and personally delivered a birthday card to my home! Overall a great experience, thank you one and all!
I received a mailer stating that for a special one time offer they were able to give me 16,136 for my Hyundai Santa Fe + up to 40% off a new vehicle, a chance to win 5,000 and everyone gets a $15 dollar target card. So, first off, no target card. After an hour and a half wait, I get a sales person. He asks if he can have the keys to my car so they can check it out. I say sure, he looses them for about an hour and fifteen minutes, stating someone must have them. I test drive a few cars and pick two. Note in the mailer I received it clearly states that they knew the 16,136 was well above blue book, but they are authorized. The sales guy leaves and comes back in about 20 minutes with an offer Im going to love. I didnt. He offered me 9K for my car, (blue book) and a $3,500 rebate and not even close to 40% off of the new vehicle. Oh, and he lost the paper with all the details they sent. He said he could print a new one, he didnt. At this point I had been there for more than 3 hours. I left and dont plan on ever returning. I want to note here I had bought me Santa Fe there 5 years ago.
The people were very friendly. As soon as I walked in I was surprised to be greeted so promptly. My sales person had a great personality. The experience went smoothly, I was made comfortable and the sale was not rushed. She made sure to come back with the numbers that I would be happy with. In the end I felt I made a great choice. Wen I go back for the free car washes, the staff members make it feel kinda like that old tv show CHEERS. Where everybody know your name.
Had a great experience at Colonial Hyundai working with Katie, Walter, and Chuck on my Elantra. The whole leasing process was smooth and without the stress of my previous leasing experience at another manufacturer. I appreciated the time to think I was given without constant interruption as at so many other places and I really appreciated the individual attention and effort that Katie Schaffer put in. Highly recommended!
My wife and I sold our SUV outright to Colonial. They gave us a very fair offer (About 1500$ more compared to Car Sense and Car Max). I got an instant cash offer from KBB, went to the dealership, sold it and was in and out in about an hour. Assuming they pay off the existing loan and cut us a check for the remaining balance, I was impressed with their service and overall experience. Well done guys.
Best car buying experience hands down. I consider myself a good researcher when it comes to purchasing a vehicle, but at Colonial Hyundai I got way more car for less money. They even exceeded what I hoped for on my trade-in.Manager Steve Tucci took the time to figure out what would work best for me, pulling up dozens of vehicles and looking for all the incentives he could apply. Never did I feel ANY pressure to buy at any point - it was like having a friend trying to find you a good deal.Hats off to salesman Mo too who is like a friendly walking Hyundai encyclopedia. Totally worth the drive - I strongly recommend Colonial and will definitely be back next time I need a vehicle.
If you are lucky enough to meet Katie Schaffer at Colonial Hyundai when buying your next car I am sure you will agree with the title of my review. She worked with Tom Cassidy to locate the specific car my wife wanted and they both worked out a great deal. They were very professional and friendly. I never felt like I was being sold a car. Rather it was a negotiation process that was both fair and understandable. When we arrived at the dealership to pick the car up Katie dressed the car up with a bow and balloons - an unexpected personal touch that no other dealership had ever done. I would recommend Katie and Tom to anyone looking for a new car. Michael Wilkinson in the finance department was also a pleasure to deal with. He did not try to hard sell me on any of the extended warranties etc. He simply explained the options and let me make a choice on what worked best for me. I will be back to Colonial Hyundai.
Age: 24Years shopped: close to 5Loving my 2020 Genesis G70 Prestige from PIAZZA GENESIS IN WEST CHESTER NOT COLONIALTLDR Shopping for a new car at COLONIAL felt like I was living in a poorly written comedy movie with the most stereotypical, over the top, tacky sales tactics possible. Something to note, they left me a voicemail saying wed like you to entertain the Genesis again, come back and well get much closer to your budget for the Genesis after I said I couldnt afford it. Upon arrival, they showed me an Audi with 48k miles on it, costing mid 20 thousand range instead of lowering the price of the GENESIS as stated in the voicemail. So expect bait and switch here.Heres a detailed account. Grab a drink. Day one, received a phone call from a salesman (Ill withold his name because he was overall friendly. Not a good salesman to me, and a little scatterbrained, but didnt strike me as malicious). He got me to come down and look at a Genesis priced at 33,990 (priced 32,800 online, hmm why the different price in person?). After fees and taxes, the car was now 38,000. I said I couldnt afford it, and the wonderful sales manager Vish came over to assist. Heres where the nightmare begins.Immediately he commented on my fathers baldness as he is bald himself (a common sales tactic to build common ground). My father is a cancer survivor, you DO NOT exploit that to your sales approach. I was disgusted and knew right then and there I would never purchase a vehicle from here again. I wasnt being a tough negotiater by any means. I legitimately could not afford it at the price. After math I did, If a fee was waived and 3 grand taken away, I couldve afforded it, but Vish refused to budge on price and offered worthless incentives instead when I expressed the most important thing to me is a low monthly payment. But its so much car for the price this is a mans car are comments from Vish during our discussion. I asked him about lease options for the 2020 G70s, to which he didnt answer at all. The most important consideration in a sale is listening to your customers wants and needs. You both failed to simply listen. I stated numerous times that it looked like I just couldnt afford the car, and I was prepared for that to be the case if they didnt budge on the price. To their credit, it was a great vehicle. I get that. But Vish INSISTED I could afford his monthly payment. Do NOT tell me what I can and cant afford.Day two, I received the voicemail and was subject to the bait and switch as described in the TL:DR. The only reason I entertained these people is because they had my broken car on their lot. After expressing 0 interest in the Audi, Vish kept trying to sell it. Then after expressing my disappointment in his bait and switch, he offered more pointless warranties and oil changes on the car. I asked the salesman after my conversation with Vish about lease options to which he simply replied you cant afford it with your budget. Again, do NOT tell me what I can and cant afford. The Genesis G70 Prestige I leased and will purchase afterwards from PIAZZA in WEST CHESTER says I can afford it. PIAZZA in WEST CHESTER has excellent customer service. There were no slimy, stereotypical, over the top, played out, demeaning, insulting sales tactics used.Bottom line: Colonial exploited my Fathers baldness (cancer survivor) as a sales tactic, told me I can afford their slightly overpriced vehicle, told me I couldnt afford something that ended up being the most affordable option (AT PIAZZA), and used terrible tactics (its a mans car, so much car for the money, bait and switch, blatantly ignoring wants and needs). Check reviews here, and then PIAZZA WEST CHESTER.To Colonial: Im sure Ill receive some half hearted generic reply on here to contact you to make this right. Nothing will make this right. You disgust me. You pushed a nearly 5 year customer out the door and offered nothing to keep my business when I inquired about vehicle options.Only positive thing here is Bryan in service was great!
Lou stands behind his sale as long as the car is running. He is a class sales person. Jim is very organized in his role and really knows cars. He stood behind the warranty and not only fixed my car quicker than expected but kept in touch along the entire process to make sure I was always updated. They are a wonderful group and I recommend my personal friends to my other friends at Colonial Hyundai.
I purchased a vehicle at Colonial Hyundai in July 2018. When i purchased the vehicle, the process was fine however getting them to meet the terms of the deal in regards to adding a hitch was very frustrating. Recently, I called regarding information on the extended warranty i purchased when i bought the vehicle since I seemed to have misplaced the paperwork. When I called the concierge transferred me to the finance department and I ended up leaving a voicemail for Rob. The next day, I called since I did not received a call back. I had to leave another voicemail. Yesterday, called a left a third voicemail for Rob with no response. Today, I called and was transferred to a gentleman named George. He took my information and asked to call me back with the information. Within two hours, he had called with the answer. Thank god for George. While this place may have a good deal when you are looking, the service is continually terrible and they are obviously not out there to retain clients for life, which is a shame.Long story short, George was great but save yourself the headache if you can.
I always feel some pressure from car sales people but the folks here kept it to a minimum. They were helpful during the sales process and any support needs after that.I did run into some trouble with their lease-end process (they failed to submit some documents, I think) but overall I would recommend them.Follow up...4 years later I’ve found their service department to be excellent. I never feel like they’re taking advantage of me and the prices are always reasonable.
My car care package expired even though I had not used all the coupons and I appreciate that my associate was able to get approval to use the promotional code. I appreciate they did the right thing because I have prepaid to be able to use these coupons so I should be able to use them.
We just bought a new santa fe from this dealer. We live out of state and our local dealer couldnt get the color we wanted. We drove 4 hours to get it and it was worth it. The sales staff went over and above expectations to make this any easy transaction. We got a better deal than the dealer we have used for years offered. Andy, Humberto, Tammy and George were wonderful to work with.
Responded to an offer for a $50 gift card. I should have known something wasnt right when the sales guy complained about all of the people who come in for the gift card and dont buy a car. The $50 gift card was offered to me and I shouldnt feel bad coming in to claim it. I am buying a car but Im waiting for the Memorial Day sales prices. Im sorry I dont just buy the same day. I still didnt get the gift card and emailed the gift card people and didnt get a response. I called the store and got the run around. Its evident that the gift card is a ploy to get you in store and sell a car only and you are supposed to forget about it.
My original review expressed a personal issue that I had with the dealership involving my experience returning a lease that, when all was said and done, was a disaster and made me feel like I was cheated and taken advantage of. While I still feel that way, my review should still be objective. The salesman who leased my car to me (a gentleman named Chris; not sure if he still works there) was very friendly and accommodating to my needs and answered many of my questions. The finance team themselves (not the manager, but the team that I spoke to every so often) was friendly and helpful when issues arose (of which there were a few here and there). Over-all, I will not be returning to them due to the issues I had with their dealership, however Im sure mine may have been an isolated incident (I dont want to play the what if game if it really was just a series of unfortunate events).
Excellent experience. Lou Ziegler did a fantastic job selling me the car. I also worked for a short time with Mike Wilkinson who also did a great job. I also would like to thank David Smith for helping through the process and making it work. I would recommend visiting Colonial Hyundai in Downington, PA if your looking for a great price and excellent service.
Everyone I worked with or met at this dealership, with the exception of Rob Barba, was very friendly and professional. Rob Barba was the person who handled the financing and was somewhat pushy and became irritated when I asked to read (briefly) what was on the pile of paperwork he kept pushing in front of my face. He and he alone is responsible for the less than perfect rating for Colonial Hyundai. My Product Specialist, Tammy Zegac, was one of the most professional and helpful salespersons I have ever met. She went way above and beyond before and after the sale. All and all, it was a very pleasant experience, except for Rob. In my opinion, he would benefit from some soft skills training.
I recently leased a 2018 Tuscon from Colonial Hyundai and my experience was awesome, because of one person KATIE SCHAFFER!!! She provides the most amazing customer service from start to finish. I actually met Katie a year ago when I moved to town and was having an issue with the lease on my former vehicle. She spent hours trying to help me sort that out, and after spending that time with her I knew that when it came time to turn in my old car and get a new one, I wasnt going to deal with anyone but Katie. She absolutely goes above and beyond for her customers, and cares more about getting them in the right car for a price they can afford than how much money she or the dealer makes. Katie knew how much I could afford, and showed me a different car than I was originally looking at - but it had everything I wanted and more! She had pulled the car out before I got there so I could test drive it, and that made everything go much faster. Katie negotiated hard for me and got me to the price I could afford. I am VERY happy with the car and love driving it everyday. If you need a car - GO SEE KATIE!!! SHE IS A ROCKSTAR!!!
I have to say, being the alien in the US. Mr. Steve Knickerbocker greeted me warmly with excellent Salesman ship. He is a good & Kind person. He has given me an experience like family while buying my car from Colonial Hyundai. Me and wife were happy and delighted from the services that has been offered to us by Steve and his team. All the very best to Colonial Hyundai. I will surely refer to my friends if they are in hunt of a car to Colonial Hyundai. i purchased Hyundai Elantra Value trim. Cheers Steve!
Very disappointed in treatment by Colonial Hyundai. I had a lease that ended in Sept. Stopped by CH in May and indicated that I would like to purchase a specific used non-Hyundai SUV by the end of Sept to avoid the $400 disposition fee. Gained agreement from sales and used cars that they had several months to get what I was looking for and buying from them would waive the $400 fee. Fast forward to lease end and over 6 separate calls - each time being told oh yea I remember let me look into that to never hear back each time. Each additional call was received with like we never talked. Was forced to buy from another dealership. Now their lack of internal processes has me with a $400 bill. Called to speak to GM and told - sorry wont help you. You did not buy from us and that is that. Great way to treat a 2x Colonial Hyundai owner.
Had a very good experience dealing with Colonial Hyundai staff. I went to test drive for a used car and then tried multiple cars. Ended up driving a brand new car home as they gave me a good deal. I bought that car for my wife but it drives so nice that I have started driving it most of the time :)It was worth spending time with Colonial Hyundai staff. I had a little experience with service department also and it went very smooth too.
This is my second purchase at Colonial Hyundai. Both vehicles have only been service at this location (they do a great job). The sales, service and personnel throughout the dealership are friendly and knowledgeable.I would recommend this dealership.Thank you Colonial.
I had the most positive experience buying a new car here. Everyone in the dealership was direct, honest and personable. Bradley T. was my salesman and he was fantastic in every way!!! When i returned to finalize my deal and Bradley was with another client for a bit. Lou Z., another salesman, stepped right in and guided us through all the little details such as setting up the blue link account. And he gave us so many helpful ideas. He, like Bradley, is another really great customer-oriented salesman! Also worked with Gabriel C. in finance, who was very professional. Im sure no dealership is perfect but to me they were everything I wanted in service when buying a car.
I had the pleasure to tag-along with my sister in-law who purchased a 2015 Toyota Tacoma -to help in translating and documentary assistance this past weekend. Our sales associate was Kate and she was so amazing, patient and a true customer-advocate! I highly recommend her as one of the most understanding professionals that walked us through the whole process of meeting our needs to closing the sale. I have never seen such excellent customer service! I will definitely be returning for my own purchase in the near future. Not only was Kate a pleasure, but I had the great opportunity to meet a great team of workers who tended to our needs professionally as well. They run under a great manager named Steve who helped us out tremendously as well. Overall wonderful experience!
We used this location for 5 yrs or so, and Donna took care of us.A few yrs later she had left the location & someone else took over her position.Everytime I went there I was annoyed by his attitude,he just didnt sit well as service customer representative.Eventually, I had enough w/ him & his attitude & went 2 a further dealership.Recently found out Donna was back & of course I went back!! She was delightful, pleasant w/ great service! The receptionists do an awesome job!! We r glad to have Donna back!!!!!
Came in to trade in a car and purchase one of their used cars. Salesman didnt listen at all to what we wanted from the car (CarPlay was a #1 feature) and showed us multiple cars that didnt fit our description at all. Failed to listen to the budget we had for the car. When we found one we could be interested in, we noticed on the test drive that it had a high number of miles (90k). The salesman then told us the car had a full engine replacement, which was subsequently backed up by his manager and the GM of the dealership, and were told to trust them.We did not receive a single document showing this engine change. The GM has stopped emailing us back, indicating that it was a complete lie and they were trying to get us to buy a high mileage, no warranty car by lying about an entire engine replacement. Do not buy from here, classic sleazy dealership tactics.
It was a big step for me to move away from an American vehicle.. but so far the Santa Fe was been outstanding. Colonial as well so far has been excellent.. Getting questions answered, making appointments, getting the vehicle serviced.. all good. I appreciate the courtesy, respect shown my everyone at the dealership.. so far so good guys ! thank you
Been multiple times now for service for various things. Excellent service. Theyre very nice and professional, and communicate about any car concerns clearly. Theyve been great with following COVID protocols. They also have an awesome music playlist when youre waiting inside 🎶
My wife and I were looking at certified pre-owned vehicles in the area. We sought out Colonial Hyundai mainly because of its convenience relative to our home. Mike approached us and the rest was history. He never made us feel uncomfortable and was very attentive to our needs. His knowledge of the cars was very impressive and the fact that he drives a Hyundai himself validated all of the important details he shared with us. Being that he is a local guy was a nice touch as well. The fact that Mike has been working with Hyundai for over 11 years spoke volumes about the dedication to his craft and to the brand as well, which gave us peace of mind. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. He is the real deal.
Had a great experience buying my truck from Katie Schaffer. I gave her specifics of what I was looking for and she clearly put a lot of time and effort into making sure I got exactly what I wanted and kept me updated with what options she found. She made my truck buying experience easy and pain free.
Great dealership and everyone was supportive and friendly. Lou Ziegler went above and beyond to make sure I was able to afford to drive out of there with a Hyundai and not just looking to only make a sale. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to finance, or lease a car. You will be in great hands, and I am truly grateful for your time and patience assisting me and my family.Thank you! 🙏🏼
Review from Rahul & Shilpa:Our experience at Colonial Hyundai was nothing less than AMAZING, all thanks to BRADLEY TRIPLETT. Brad is AWESOME. He was so quick with everything. We did know what exactly we were looking for so that did help, but from there on, Brad made sure we were in an out of the door in the shortest time possible. Also, he was so easy to deal with, no unnecessary pressure to buy or pushing other options on us. He was to the point and we really appreciate that in a Salesperson. He explained everything to us in a clear manner and made sure he closed the deal with complete customer satisfaction. We really felt valued through our entire interaction with him and this review was due even if we had not actually made a purchase with Colonial Hyundai. If you are looking at buying a car (New/Used) and do come here, look for Brad. He is your guy!
Katie Schaffer is the best! This is our second car from Colonial Hyundai, and both times Katie took great care of us. She not only provides great customer service, she really listens to her customers and does her best to meet their needs. She provides great customer service and is friendly and genuine. The entire staff was great and Katie was outstanding.
I bought a car here within the last month and had the best experience of any other place I have been to (3 other reputable dealerships). I specifically worked with Katie who came highly recommended to me by my sister (and now I know why). She was on point and listened to my needs and my budget and found me the perfect car (actually it was nicer than I had hoped). I walked away with a great car but more importantly I walked away knowing that Katie had my best interest the whole time and treated me with the upmost respect (even if Im a girl that doesnt know a thing about cars and could be easily scammed)Katie is amazing, but I also have to say the whole dealership, in general, is so cordial and welcoming. A number of people from the finance department, to other salespeople, to the manager (and the service people who updated my inspection this past weekend) were congratulating me and made me feel as though they were vested in myself and the car. So thank you! I am truly appreciative and would definitely recommend you to anyone
My experience at Colonial was awesome! This was my first buy and the sales person who worked with me (Ben Gomez) was excellent. He met all my expectations and worked with me to get the best price for the vehicle that I wanted. Not only was Ben a huge help; but Vince the Business Manager was a huge help also. Vince was kind, caring and worked his magic to get me the best deals also on an extended warranty.I would definitely reccommend this dealer to someone. I will also be going back to purchase my next Hyundai vehicle.
Our sales person, Mike Wilkinson, found a great and appropriately priced used Elantra for our daughters first car. Turn around time from test drive to purchase was quick and all of the paperwork done efficiently. This was our first experience at Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown and we would definitely return.
I bought a Camry today with the help of Mike Wilkinson. I am a first time car buyer and he answered all my questions thoroughly. I am very happy with this purchase and honestly he made it a very smooth transaction. Everyone I met at the dealership was very friendly and knowledgeable but I specifically recommend doing business with Mike Wilkinson.
The people at the service desk were awesome and kept me updated, the service repair man failed at his job as he lied about what services were performed and I have an issue with that. If they lied about something as simple as filling my washer fluid, what else didnt he really do? How many other corners did he cut?
My car was unexpectedly totaled so I was thrust into the car shopping/buying experience sooner than anticipated. I had been looking to upgrade from my sporty coupe to a larger crossover and have always heard good things about Hyundai - my dad has owned a couple and it was on my consideration list when I bought my first car 11 years ago - so I paid them a visit. The whole experience was wonderful - everyone was so friendly and it didnt feel like a typical dealership visit. They had music playing and great food on the grill so, while Im sure they value making sales, they do an even better job of creating relationships with the neighborhood. Id feel comfortable stopping by just to say hello and grab a bite to eat without feeling pressured into a sale. But my salesperson, Jeremy, listened to my needs and found a great car for me. I pretty much fell in love with the Tucson instantly, but wanted to do my due diligence so I shopped around and test drove vehicles at some other dealerships. I went back to Colonial a few hours later to finalize my purchase with no regrets and would highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for great customer service (and a new vehicle)!
Highly recomend. Tough negotiators. but ultimatley im paying less per month on my 2013 Sonata. nicest car i have ever owned. The sales staff asked me what i wanted and needed in my dream car and let me test drive the exact one i ended up wanting to buy. process was a little longer than i thought but i am very happy with the car and the monthly payments.
$6500 for trade - no way. I went to Colonial Hyundai in Downingtown to get $6500 for my trade (which was probably only worth $2000). I had called beforehand and they said that the $6500 was off of the window price. I checked the car prices (i.e. window sticker) on the web site prior to going so I had an idea what the car should cost. I knew their offer was too good to be true. When I got there, the window price on every car is about $3800 more than the manufacturers sticker price because they add all sorts of extras most people wont use (car washes, dent and chip repair, etc) - especially me since I came from 40 minutes away. Their extras are on a separate window sticker that they dont show online. They do this on every new car. Included in this $3800 in an extra cost to double the manufacturers warranty - so you are paying for this warranty, they are not giving it to you like they advertise.Their advertising did get me into the dealership and after about 90 minutes at the dealership, they did give me an offer on a car that really wasnt my first choice anyway. This deal included the actual value of my trade - not the $6500. If you are interested in a Hyundai, they are probably a reasonable dealership but they should just avoid the misleading advertising and pricing. If you are interested in something else, you are probably not going to get any better deal there. Go elsewhere which is what I did and gave my business to a more honest dealer closer to home.
When I originally bought my car, the experience was ok. The car was a good deal with Internet pricing, but the workers there were saying that it must have been a mistake and tried selling me other cars. I ended getting the Internet price for the car + $500...still a better deal than anywhere else I had seen.I received an invitation to get an upgrade on my car for less than I was currently paying *along* with a check for over $13K for my current car (2011 Sonata) along w/ their 40% Black Friday sale. Sounded fishy, but I thought I would be able to get a good deal for an upgrade...I was wrong. After 3 hours of waiting. they said for an upgrade they could give me a deal at $380 / month (2.5% APR) for 72 months ($27,360 total)! Thats the same price as just buying the car without any deals and them getting my car for free. I will not waste anymore of my time dealing with the crooked ways of this dealership and Ill be sure to advise others not to as well.
Very disappointed. I visited the showroom to look at a Hyundai Palisade and was very disappointed with the fact that this dealership and others in the area are adding a $6k markup on this vehicle because its so hot and hard to find. Cars are not an investment and its ridiculous that this dealership and others feel that they can take advantage by adding an AMV to a hot car like this. The salesman that I spoke with was very nice and I dont fault him in any way. But the fact that management thinks this is ok, is very sad.Thankfully there are other Hyundai/Kia dealerships in the Philly/NJ area that are not playing these games and I was able to purchase my Palisade from a dealership that didnt play these games. If you are on the market for a Palisade or Telluride, call around and make sure that the dealership doesnt play these games before you waste your time going in for a visit. This kind of practice of marking up a car because its in demand is ridiculous and people need to be cautious when they see these practices taking place. To the consumer, please dont play along with these games, and these types of dealerships will hopefully stop doing this.
I visited Colonial Hyundai based on a reference from a family member who had a great experience - turned out I had a great experience as well! Mike greeted us in the lot and was very thorough in answering our questions. Overall I feel we got a great, safe car for a decent price.
Having seen the new Genesis G70 at the Philly auto show my wife and I were very impressed. I read numerous reviews about the car that further convinced us to trade in our 2015 Mercedes for the G70.I had purchased a Hyundai Veracruz and 2 Hyundai Santa Fes from Colonial and was always treated with the utmost kindness. Lou Ziegler is by far the best salesperson Ive ever dealt with in all my car buying experiences. I can see why he has the big trophy on his desk.
Their service department is a joke. I will not use their actual names out of respect, but they should try to run a tighter ship before they lose all their business or their jobs. They do not even call you to tell you that they looked at your car or when you call, they give lip service and then never call back. This happened to both me and my wife about one service job over the course of three days. We are now entering the third day waiting for service and we finally got a call back after we both contacted them several times, left messages, and spoke to service individuals on the phone. He promised a call back in a couple minutes and it came two hours later. You be the judge of that timeline...It seemed like no one in service actually wanted to do any service. Plenty other reviews have warned about this, but we didn’t listen. Hopefully, you will listen. ***EDIT*** Our car is there under a different name that I am not identifying here before our car is finally returned.
From the moment I leased my Accent (a wonderful car) from Kate Schaeffer; one of the kindest human beings I have ever met, who just happens to also be incredibly gifted in providing exceptional sales and service ... to my most recent phone conversations and 7500 mile service and inspection with JP, also an incredibly gifted gentleman .... pleasant, professional, knowledgeable I continue to be delighted with Colonial Hyundai. I also met Customer Relations Manager; Kimberly who had all of the same qualities as Kate and JP. This dealership is completely dedicated to providing best in class service and sales. I am grateful to and for the entire Team. God bless all, Kathleen
Had a sudden issue, called Jim Carpenter and he got me in as soon as I could get there. Very straight forward, handled the situation quickly and I was on my way. Jim has taken care of all my cars for a several years now. He provides a comfort level of trust and fairness with a personal touch. I am very particular with my vehicles and Jim knows this. With cars, especially at the dealerships these days, its all about doing the right thing, Jim is all about doing the right thing for me, and I am sure he does the same for all his clients. Well done!
Beware of recalls! I took my car to be serviced here after a recall notice and not only the amount of time it took was ridiculous (over 3 hours, estimated 30m), but they also serviced the car without my permission, and tried to charge me $116 for oil change, wheel balancing and air filters. The only reason Im not giving 1 star is because they offered no resistance when revoking the charges, but that makes it clear to me how they operate.
This is the third Hyundai I have purchased from this dealership. Everyone was straight forward with no surprises. My wife and I live 85 miles away in New Jersy but found this dealership to have the best salespeople (thank you Brad Triplett ) and the best deals. Double the warranty helps also!
Got sent a flier that I won 500$ and after talking to multiple people on the phone asking if it was legitimate they all said yes. That I had won. I drive an hour to the dealership to find no one who can help me. All to find out I didnt win anything they just wanted me to come in. Was definitely disappointed. I was the fool this time. Definitely wont ever consider purchasing a car here.
The service department is good. The service reps are friendly and helpful and best of all know what they are talking about. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. The parking area for service has expanded which makes it much easier to find a spot. Dont hesitate to use Colonial Hyundais service
I was trying to make a deal with two different people, I was told we were close and close to the deal and was told it had been on the lot to long and had to get rid of it. I was even paying cash money? I was then called back and was told they needed another 1000.00. I was then called and was told they drove the car and found a problem with it and was going to take it off of line and couldnt accept what I had offered ? Definally the worse people I have erer seen to buy a car off of? I told the gentleman that I could find a car just as good as that one and he said good luck finding one and then hung up on me. Miss Smoot was a great person and even told me with what I had been thru she would get me in that car? I would never recommend anyone even to go there and try to buy a car because all they do is give u the run around. I found just about the same car with more on it and even thru in a sunroof at no additional cost to me with lower miles. I also am going to go thru their business bureau for being lied to and changing prises on their web page and said the prise was put in wrong. I believe that is called false advertising ? dont let them run u around like they did me. There r plenty of cars out there that r cheaper and have lower miles. They act like they r the only dealership but they r not. Very upset with the lies and how they do business. Sincerely Rick Pearrell. By the way I was even driving 3 hours just to try and get the car!! dont get ripped off
Sam Srisook is the best car salesman I have ever worked with. He was very professional, courteous and friendly. He took his time and had lots of patience with all my questions and concerns. I would highly recommend Sam to anyone interested in buying new or used. Thank you Sam for all you did to get me my new car!!!! You are awesome!!!!
Purchased a 2012 Hyundai S ante Fe from this dealership and I can say I couldnt be more happier. Everyone was very friendly with you even if they werent the one selling you the car. We went expecting to buy a really crappy car just to get us by and by the end walked out with the newest car I ever had.We purchased this car back in December 2013 and then made a appointment with Lou Ziegler to refinance the same existing car because we wanted to put a large sum of cash down on the car loan and wanted this to go all to principal balance. After all was said and done we walked out with more then we expected. Lou was very helpful at keeping my kids 4 and 7 under control he even let my 7 year old play on his ipad.None of the sales people were pushy and you were treated like everyone else no matter what kind of money you had or make. I really recommend this dealership and Lou Ziegler to help you get a car you want. I will certainly be buying a car from Lou Ziegler in the future hopefully he never leaves this dealership! I live about an hour from this dealership and I would rather travel the distance then buy a car closer to me because of the amazing service and salesman Lou Ziegler. Thank you for being awesome!
Dont count on them to make it right if they damage your vehicle. Ive been to Colonial Hyundai many times in the past 5 years and had nothing but good experiences until my last visit. I had Colonial mount new tires on my 2012 Genesis. I was disappointed to see that the wheels were scratched during the process. I pointed out the damage to Ivan, the service manager, who said it couldnt have possibly been their equipment and refused to admit any fault, but agreed to have the wheels repainted as a good will gesture. The repainted wheels looked worse than the scratched wheels. A poor color match, dust in the paint, and overspray everywhere else. Colonial service refused to do anything further. I had to pay hundreds to have the wheels replaced on my own dime. I showed photos of the damage to other tire shops, and they all said the damage was caused by the tire mounting machine. I wont be back to Colonial as I no longer trust them to make things right if something goes wrong.
If there was a rating for a no star that would have been my rating for todays experience. I purchased a car on the 24th of August, found out my key fobs only worked when close the car. I had an appointment today to get them replaced only to find out that they replaced them with a generic fob versus the manufactured issued fob, remote start, car search etc. Just an overall unpleasant experience. This is my experience I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, based on my experience with them I would appreciate some feedback good or bad of other peoples experience with this dealershipHappy car shopping #disappointedcustomer
Buyer beware. Car was listed at $12500 and after all the fees they proposed $15900 total. There’s at least 4 separate fees. Car had minor dings, a chip in the windshield, and worn brakes. On top of it all they also try to hassle you in the backroom with “rim” insurance. This is the place to go if you want to overpay for subpar service.
Was traveling from NYC to Lancaster PA when my 2019 sonata started having engine trouble. Luckily I was able to reach Colonial Hyundai. Everyone there was professional, friendly and courteous. They kept us well informed, and had us back in the road less than an hour. Thank you for the coffee and providing us with our first Presidents Day miracle.God bless you guys and thank you for saving our mini vacation.Morales family
Between my new vehicle and the friendly service department I am completely ecstatic about my experience! Marvin and Tom in the sales department did an excellent job making sure I got everything in order that I wanted. And Jim in service was also incredibly friendly! Will definitely recommend friends and family
Must commend Katie Schaffer on her professionalism and friendliness while making the car buying process a smooth and satisfying experience. She was very knowledgeable, and informative about the vehicle, and wasvery instrumental along with General Managers Tom and Steve in correcting some minor issues that were discovered with the vehicle con-firming that this dealership is cognizant of the importance of customersatisfaction. Go and see Katie and the folks at Colonial Hyundai.
Just bought 2 cars from colonial about two weeks ago. One was brand new and one was used. The used car had an error code which they assured me that they would take care of it. I brought the car into colonial a few days later, only to be told that it would have to be taken to an Audi dealership.Took it to the Audi dealership and they informed me that the front windshield had been replaced and because of that the front camera sensor could not calibrate. (none of this was ever told to me by colonial)I am now out 2 thousand dollars and have not heard back from colonial.... i will never due business with them again. I will most likely be filing a suit. PLEASE RUN FROM HERE
I bought an 2013 hyundai from colonial hyundai, and my experience was horrible. I talked to a salesman over the phone about the price before I drove out there, since I live about 40 minutes away from this dealership. Once I got out there, and my father and I talked to the salesman about the pricing we were then told about the $995 fee you pay along with how much the car initially cost. This is something I was not aware of. The car drove nicely, and it was well maintained for being a rental car. I had a huge disagreement over the phone with one of the salesman who was very rude. I ended up coming back a few days later to buy the car since I started college soon , and needed a new car within a few weeks since I was commuting. I choice to work with a different salesman since the first guy was very rude, and I didnt appreciate it. I left that monday, with a new car and was back the next monday because my window main switch wasnt working for one of my windows, and they gave me 3 floor mats instead of 4. I was extremely annoyed. Since I had bought the car I have been up there 4 or 5 times back and forth. This made me so mad since I do live 40 minutes away , and I am a student so i do not have a lot of money to spend. That was 40 minutes each way , and I was wasting a ton of gas. Also since my window switch was broken it shouldnt even had passed inspection. It was a CPO. Next time I buy a car it wont be from this place....
Horrible experience went there to trade in our 2014 santa fe (which we bought here) and were trying to buy a new 2019 santa fe. After sitting and waiting for over 3 hours with two children to test drive one and nothing was happenening we were ready to leave but sales manager who we had given our keys to to appraise ours when we got there kept hiding and making excuses and making salesmen make excuses to keep us there and not giving my keys back. When all i wanted was my keys to leave and get my children something to eat they were starving after sitting there for 3-4 hours. Finally when i got keys back they had blocked our car in. Horrible experience would never recommend of give them my business EVER again!!!!!
HORRIBLE -I purchased a vehicle at this Colonial Hyundai on April 10, 2015. Didnt realize that the horn did not work and needed it to pass the VIN inspection. It took me almost 2 weeks to even get something arranged and I ended up having to go to another dealer because Colonial was just ridiculously unprofessional and dis-organized. I was given a Temporary tag, which has been expired since May 9th. Even with relentless emails and phone calls exchanged with Eva, the title clerk. the only response I have received was I contacted my vender and will get back to you, this being the same response I received both on May 6th and today, May 19th. This is inexcusable and I would not recommend that anyone to buy a vehicle from them. I am at the point where I dont even think I am going to get my tag. They take no responsibility what so ever.
First, let me preface this by saying I am a very forgiving person so it takes a lot for me to write a negative review. This is more of a warning to other people than a review, actually. To keep things brief, I was using the TrueCar website and was contacted by John Landosca (hes the short sales manager guy). I told him Im not interested because they dont have the car Im looking for. He says they do - they just got 2 of them this past weekend. I then told him THREE times exactly what I was looking for so there was absolutely no mistake in what he heard - Hyundai Eco with Tech package in Shale Gray. He confirmed - THREE times - he had it in stock. So I drive over an hour and a half to get to this place. I eventually find out that they DONT have the vehicle in stock at all. Then he proceeded to try to sell me a more expensive Hyundai Hybrid. I kept telling him that its out of my price range. He ignores me and keeps wasting my time.I just couldnt believe that he would lie about having the car I wanted just to get me into the door. Please do the customer and yourself a favor and dont lie about what you have in stock to get people to walk through your door. Its disgusting. To top it off, he never apologized. Not even once. Be wary, this guy has no moral compass. On a positive note, the sales consultant who initially helped me out was friendly - Brian Shattuck. He was quite flustered (literally red in the face) by the fact that I was lied to as well.Just thought other people should know about this incident.
Jim (in service department) keeps me updated on what is going on with my car and what is truly need and when it is necessary. I recommend Jim to everyone. My friend just bought a Hyundai there and I told her to seek him out because he always goes above and beyond. Hes an awesome guy.
Appoint was for 60K sched maintenance on my 07 Azera. The appoint was set up wth my service advisor, Donna. Prior to the service she reviewed the items included as well as a few optional service upgrades that I accepted. We also discussed an issue with my cruise control system. The appoint date arrived and I dropped off the car early in the AM. Donna inspected the car and I was provided a pre-arranged loaner, which was a new Elantra. Off I went immediatly pleased with the appearance, functionality & operation of the Elantra. As the day progressed I found myself more and more impressed with everthing about that car. I was called by Donna mid-afternoon and informed that my car was ready. Upon arrival Donna & I reviewed the work order and I was informed that all went as scheduled including the check of my cruise control which turned out to require a replacement sensor which I was happy to hear was 100% covered under my extended 100k warrenty minus the $50 deductable required by my plan. The car had been washed and was ready to go. On the drive home, I couldnt believe how great the engine & trans performed! The new sensor and trans fluid flush really did the trick, producing a buttery shift pattern! Another wonderful experience at Colonial and confirmation once again, of the value enhancement, derived from allowing the dealership to perform any and all needed service & warranty work from the day you buy, until the day you sell! I thoroughly enjoy driving my car and honestly believe that everyone I have ever came into contact with at Colonial, beginning with the phone girls, all through sales & service and even including the detail guys, have always performed thier jobs with an upbeat, positive and very pleasant, customer orientated approach!
This was the worst car dealership visit I’ve ever experienced. After being made to wait for multiple hours they came out with a price that was greater than $4000 above the price that they have online for the same exact car. The car I saw was a different one from the one I made an appointment to see in the first place, the dealership had sold the car I made an appointment to see half an hour after my appointment. Of course I was waiting in the lobby while the car I was waiting to see was being sold!
Brought my 2013 Santa Fe Sport in for 30K service on 3/18/15. All in all it was good. They even washed it for me. Thanks. The technician though did leave a McDonalds bag of trash on the passenger seat. Thanks for that too. I still you folks 5 stars.last week 3/11 brought in my 2013 SanteFe for oil change, quick, friendly service. thanks2 months ago 1/ 29 Brought in my 2013 Sante Fe for flat tire repair and repair of window rain guard that was coming loose on the from passenger window. We have had an issue with the rain guards since we had them installed and the service fellow Jim made me a great offer to resolve the issue. If I find rain guards that I like and buy them he will give me a full refund for the previous guards and install the new ones for free. My search is on. Thanks for the great service.
I had an excellent experience. The employees were very nice and welcoming. I had traded in my 98 Camry for a 2013 Kia Soul. And Im so in love with it with this choice. I would definitely recommend this dealership to everyone. Colonial Hyundai thank you so much for everything youve done for me and my family. You guys are the best. No more car search for me lol. Woohoo!!!!!! =)
Dealer said he had more cars than he did. Selection wasnt that great. We bought a 2016 veloster turbo and they offered nothing, not even a free oil change. I drove an hour to get to the dealership 4 times, just for the second key to my car. Will not do business with them again. Use true car app for my trade and they gave me a b.s. story about it being a wholesale price so my trade needed to be bought at wholesale. Do not buy from these people. Dont even waste time talking to them.
Bough a Hyundai Elantra here in 2009, they offered the two year warranty and said I didnt have to worry about a thing, everything was covered, free car washes and a coupon worth $1000 for my next car purchase, the catch is that they charged $2000 extra for that. The coupon book had about five free oil changes that probably cost a couple hundred dollars at the most. I had a newborn at babysitter and they rushed me into signing the papers to drive home my brand new car. When I finally had figured that out and talked to friend that had bought the same car for $2000 less, I went and talked to John Ashdale and explained my problem, he said that everyone negotiates different and what he could do is to charge my friend more to make the price even. Just this end of April 2017 I took my car to get the air bag light checked and they said it was because I had lint roller under my seat, charged me $115 dollars and didnt fix or reset the warning light, what they did is give me a list of things that needed to be done to my car; replacing ac and timing belts, and put front brakes, and they would throw in the sensor for the small amount of $3000. I took my car to a different mechanic and did a timing belt kit, put new water pump, flush coolant and replaced front brakes for $660. This is my own experience and not trying to put down the dealer. But if I had said yes to their recommendations I would had paid $2340 extra for the same work. Plus I already paid them the $2000 for the extra warranty that I didnt need, since that car had a 10 year powetrain warranty from the manufacturer. You decide. The only service Ill be getting there is the car wash.
This is the second vehicle i have purchased from Colonial. My first was less than pleasurable. I was apprehensive about going back to them but Brian calmed my fears. His professionalism and dedication to customer service sets the bar on how a car buying experience should be. Even after a slight hiccup (not his fault) Brian was able to resolve the issue to ensure my happiness with the deal. If you are on the market for a new or used vehicle, make sure to go see Brian Shattuck at Colonial Hyundai in Downingtown.
The experience I had when buying the car was good, as soon as I need service it was bad. At time of purchase I paid for lifetime state inspection and free oil changes / tire rotations. For the oil changes I cant remember if this was for a few years or lifetime. When I brought it in for the 3500 mile maintenance. They told me over the phone the the fuel additive is not free, that was $60. At this point I feel like they are over charging on the additive to cover the free oil change / tire rotation. So I told them not to do the additive, I will buy that my self for $15 and pour it into my gas tank. That following Saturday I take my car in and speak to a service tech who looks up my account and tells me that the maintenance plan I though I bough is not on my account and I will have to pay. So, I went home looked through my paper work and found nothing stating I purchased it. But verbally I was told I purchased it. So I paid for something and have only word of mouth. My loss. Im happy with the car, Im unhappy with colonial hyundia of downingtown. Originally I gave them a good rating, but that was right after I bought the car, I should have waited to see how they treat me once fear of losing a sale is gone.
I told the sales guy to not pull my credit until they told me how much they could get for my car. I had a pre-approval from my bank for a little under $30k and wanted to see if we could get a better rate. The car I was interested in was around $22k.He took the paper and said “I’m not going to pull your credit I’m going to see what they will offer then I’ll be back”He came back, did the exact opposite and chastised me in front of everyone that I wasted his time. Did you not hear me say I had a pre-approval in my hand the two or three times I told you?! I learned from my mistake and will never sign anything again before I get what’s promised.SHADY PLACE! I can’t remember the sales reps name but he smelled of cheap whiskey & cigars.
So I purchased a used vehicle from hyndai a 2015 Genesis. Very nice car. The first thing I noticed was the car needed an oil change.. it was 200 miles over due driving it off the lot... When I went into the dealership I was looking for new really.. Hyundai was offering 3 years of bluelink with new purchases and the salesman said with the used I would get all the same bells and whistles... Which was wrong.. I got 3 months of bluelink which just expired. A month after having the car the passenger side bumper popped out of place leading me to think they car had been in an accident before.. I took it to Hyundai and they told me Id have to pay 900 to get it fixed... There were fresh scratches that indicated that I damaged it.. Ive owned really nice cars in the past with no issues but all of a sudden I dont know how to drive.. so after 2 hours the manager Dave Smith said I could take it to a body shop to try and repair it so I did and they repaired it (the repair is barely holding on.. you can see the plastic popping out a bit again...) Also Dave told me he would cover the cost of the three year bluelink... So far all broken promises by a dealership that doesnt care about its customers once they drive the car off its lot... I will never buy a car from this dealership again and will recommend to anyone I speak to not to as well.
The service we received from Neal Y. was top-notch! Not only was he attentive and knowledgeable, but also extremely friendly and made the car-searching process an easy one for us! We could not have asked for a better experience. We will absolutely be referring friends/family to Colonial Hyundai with extra kudos to Neal!
Colonial Hyundai has always been my go to place as far as service is concerned. Very honest dealership and their service advisers (Ruben, etc) have always gone out of way to provide the best service that they can. Highly recommended for any Hyundai related service and repairs!!
I drove 2hours to see a certified pre owned car, when I arrive cars was there in great condition. I was intended to buy, but for my surprise they added an extra 990 dealer fee. That extra fee was not even on Hyundai certified website, but during negotiation they have showed a different website with that fee, I showed hyundai website for Katie and her manager but they said that the official Hyundai website was incorrect and they tried to convince myself to buy the car with that extra 990 dolars.Very disappointed with Hyundai Colonia, 2 days later they called me asking to recommend their service for my friends, seriously?
Here is a list of the cars I/my immediate family (by my referral) have bought from Colonial. Me/husband/son: 2 Santa Fes, 2 Sonatas, 1 Veracruz, 2 Elantras, 1 Genesis Coupe, 1 Tiburon. 1 Tuson My family : 1 Veracruz(my dad), 1 Tuson (my niece), 1 Sonata limited (nephew) and 1 Genesis Sedan (ex-husband)I went in last Friday during their big end of the year sale and left without a car! I HAD to buy a car told then I had too ( I did have 1 year left on my lease )and Colonial Hyundai gave me ZERO help . There big sale meant nothing. This would have been purchase #10 for me all bought from them. As I said, they let me walk out Ill let you form you own opinion. I cannot wait for my lease to end, needless to say Colonial has lost me as a customer of over 10 years.I will add that they do have an exceptional Service Team.
Gives you false advertising to bring you in the door and with standard used car salesmen bravado fales to give you what you won. Has sales man Ace stare me down as he walked by while I put in my navigation home. They are not going to admit to giving you the correct prize just so they can make cheap sales. And switch the flyer for the wrong address they have at the desk. Don’t do business with them. I seriously regret ever coming. Since the manager had to tear they flyer in half. They will circle like hunger sharks and want to talk you in a car that you don’t want.
This is the 2nd time here, 3 years ago I leased a brand new Hyundai Accent and Katie was there to help me through the process of picking out the right car for me within my budget. This time around, Katie once again helped me and was very kind and knew what my budget was and stuck to it. She was able to upgrade me to a new Elantra and still have it within my budget. I cannot thank Katie and the staff at this dealership for how kind and considerate they were. Katie was able to answer all my questions and made sure I understood all the new features of the car and I was comfortable with it. She was quick to respond to my emails and phone calls if I had questions. Thanks so much for another memorable experience in getting a new car, ill definitely return and would highly recommend Katie and the staff at this dealership. Thanks again!!!
I was looking to trade in my Chrysler Town & Country Minivan and saw the Santa Fe on the corner of your lot. I loved the color and the look of the crossover in general and came in for a test drive. Katie Schaffer helped me out with my test drive and honestly I knew it was my car before we even left the lot. I LOVE IT!My car buying experience from first inquiry to SOLD was an absolute pleasure and met with ease. Todd Avery and the detail department also fixed a badly touched up scratch on the hood (done by previous owner) and did an amazing job. The car is perfect!Thank you Katie Schaffer, Steve Tucci, John Seijo and Colonial Hyundai!!
My 2016 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T lease was up. I was considering buying it out, but I saw online that Colonial Hyundai had a used 2010 Genesis Coupe that caught my eye. The “Colonial Price” was $9,790.Ted was my salesman. He was deceitful the ENTIRE process.1.READ BEFORE YOU BUY A USED CAR: For used vehicles, there is an additional “$990 CASH OR TRADE REFLECTED IN ALL PRE-OWNED VEHICLE PRICING.” Whatever “Colonial Price” you’re seeing is misleading advertisement. So in my case, $9,790 + 990 = $10,780.2.Some backstory: My lease allowed me 30,000 miles. My odometer read 36,000. Hyundai would charge me $0.20 per mile I went over. So basically I would receive a bill later for $1600.Me: “Can you do anything to cover the cost of this fee?”Ted: “Yea, we’ll cover it for you. If we cover this for you, do we have a deal?.”Me: “If you tell me that you’ll pay off the $1600, I will buy the Genesis for $10,500. I can make an $1000 down payment and will finance the car.Keep in mind, I was under the impression that I was going to get this deal for $10,500 without taxes and fees.Ted: “Congratulations! We have a deal!”Me: “Thank you. Can you please print out the financial breakdown of each cost (vehicle price, taxes, fees, etc).”Ted: “Yea yea of course.”He forgets. I proceed to ask him 3 more times to print me out a financial breakdown of costs before I sign anything. Each time, he forgets or intentionally avoids this. Instead, he hurries and grounds my leased car and tells me I can take my belongings out of my leased Sonata and transfer it to the Genesis Coupe.Later on, after I transfer my belongings over, I walk into the financial lady’s office to see the financial breakdown. Ted added on the $1600 (THAT HE SAID I WOULDNT HAVE TO PAY) to my financial contract. Essentially, I’m financing that added cost as well. Before we made the deal, I asked him numerous times, “Will you pay for this fee? If you do, I will buy the car at the quoted $10,500.”I was highly upset, and Ted’s response to me towards the end of my signing was: “Oh we are paying for that fee. When you get the bill for $1600, we’ll pay that off upfront. Dont you remember me saying that to you? BUT you’ll be paying that cost in your contract. Dont you remember?” His tone was EXTREMELY condescending.HE USED VERBAL TACTICS/VAGUENESS TO GET ME TO AGREE. HE DID NOT GIVE ME THE DEAL WE AGREED UPON.So instead of the vehicle price as $10,500, he put it in as $12,164.3.Ted lied about the APR I was approved for. He said: “You’re approved for 6.9%.” WRONG. The financial lady tells me my APR is 8.9%.4.When I was in the financial lady’s office, Ted walked in numerous times huffing, puffing, irritated sounding. He wasn’t trying to do anything to make my deal fair. He never apologized until AFTER I signed the papers. His words: “Apologizes for the confusion.” He was highly unprofessional. Worse yet, he used deceitful tactics. The financial lady was transparent about everything, which I appreciated. But Ted was dishonest, unethical, and disorganized/rushing throughout the whole sales process.5. As you can see from Kelly Blue Book, I got an UNFAIR DEAL. It was a complete rip off. And I’m sure Ted was happy about this.I purchased the car because I had been dealing with Ted and this awful experience for 5 hours. It was nearly 8PM. So unless Colonial Hyundai pays that precise difference of $1600, I will NEVER be doing business here again. I am disgusted.
Came in to look at a certain car that I called out which I found online. Sales rep tells me it can not be found. I show him two other I was interested in and he said they were unavailable as well. They then showed me two other cars of similar model and milage, but in poorer condition.decied to shoot for it and told then I would come back next day and purchase. They call me next day and tell me price was incorrect on there end and it was actually $3500 more. Worst dealership experience of my life. Would not recommend to anyone .
I have to say you guys are amazing. Its crazy to say this but I really enjoyed my experience and the whole sales process. Although I had my guard up (poor Thomas ?) I have to say it was indeed a pleasant experience.Thomas went above and beyond making sure I was properly introduced to my new vehicle and safely on my way home. This has truly been an eye opener for me. I no longer feel going to a car dealership is like strapping dead fish to my body with bricks strapped to my feet in a lake filled with sharps. ( yes I went there? ). Hey you guys Rock and I will be referring people to your location
Even when things get accidentally screwed up Colonial goes out of their way and then some to make things right. Great customer satisfaction and trust is what makes this dealership one that I keep coming back for in either sales or service for the last 11 Hyundais in 14 yrs--Colonial really takes care of you!
If I can give this place zero or negative stars I would the sales women Tammy was the most incompetent sales person I ever dealt with she didn’t know anything I asked her and must of thought I was the dummest person alive to try to charge me 5k over the sticker price then we got past them and they made a deal with my son and I when I went back to pick up the car which I shouldn’t of even bothered after the first incident the fiancé guy tried to make me buy the car instead of leasing so he can slam me for even more money . This whole place is a rip off and full of scams go elsewhere to buy a Hyundai Pacifico Hyundai in Philadelphia is the place to go I only went up here cause they had the car I wanted in stock oh and they also neglected to tell me it wasn’t even brand new it had 4K miles on it STAY AWAY
Very bad experience. My sales rep (Manish) was excellent and very helpful. But its downhill after that. I really liked the Sonata Limited and was ready to buy it assuming they gave me a good deal. Instead, this guy John and Sam came in to negogiate with utterly unprofessional attitude. Particularly Sam was extremely rude and arrogant. Honestly, if someone is reading and cares about customer experience - please consider below as constructive feedback:1) you cannot start with sky high price and negogiate down upto 25%~30%. Keep the negotiation within 5% margin. You lose customer interest at the outset with such ridiculous prices.2) why cant the poor sales rep negogiate? Why do I need to talk to 3 different people? Its annoying and waste of time.3) give some sales training for guys like Sam before making them finance manager.I hope the dealership focuses better on customer experience.
Stay away from this dealer nothing but scams. bought a lifetime engine warranty from them and after 4 years need engine work and was declined saying that all oil changes have to be done at there location. since i live 100 miles away thats not possible. read the fine print before they stab you in the back. the only reason i gave them 1 star is because they didnt offer 0 stars.
Service staff was incredibly rude. Was lied to and even after having an appoint for a week, the representative who I test drove the car with barely knew anything about the vehicle. No room for negotiations and was treated as inferior and a push over just because of age and lack of car buying experience.
After reading some of these negative things on here, I thought it would be fair to Colonial that my husband and I couldnt be happier with the way we were treated by our salesman Jon Miller. He showed us the vehicle we were interested in and really gave a great presentation. Then my husband drove off for the test drive. After he drove it on the highway and we took the off ramp, Jon told him to pull into a little strip mall and offered to switch drivers to allow me to drive the vehicle. We had been shopping for a few weeks and been on several test drives, the salesperson at the other places offered me a chance to drive the vehicle. I really thought Jon had our best interest allowing me to drive the vehicle also. The negotiations were going back in forth but Jon never got upset and was fighting for us, then Mike Lutman came over and offered us the Maintenace Packages at a reduced price where me and my husband were very happy. Jon called the insurance company and had everything changed over and the car was detailed and filled with gas. When we got out of finance Jon went over the vehicle and synced both of our phones. What a great experience!!!!
I wan to take a moment to appreciate the engineer assigned to me. John Jones took time to explain everything in detail, made the necessary recommendations, and made me feel like a valued customer. It was a pleasure dealing with Jon. I have had similar experiences with Jim and Donna too. These are great engineers you have at your service center. Thank you!
Boy, those online used car prices sure look good on the Colonial Hyundai web site, until you see the fine print: **BALANCE DUE REFLECTS $990. CASH OR TRADE EQUITY**. Why cant they just publish the price as they are, instead of trying to make the prices look better? Also, the dealer falsely advertises that THIS VEHICLE IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE COLONIAL CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED PROGRAM FOR $595 on listings where the cars clearly dont qualify because they are too old or have more than 60,000 miles--again, more fine print trickery.Buyers, be aware and read the fine print before you get excited about an online listing with this car dealer!
Okay the place was okay. They sold me a car and I love the car. On the other side not very competent workers. To this day I am still feeling the after affects of them completely messing up the sale of my car to me. Now the sale was an error on them in my favor (yeah!) but it has caused me headaches. The only other disappointing fact of this dealer is they dont stand by their word. Due to the sales screw up, certain membership features of my vehicle were turned off on accident. Lets just say that was 7 months ago and I have finally fixed the issue on my own.
I hardly ever leave reviews, and when I do, its for 5stars and being blown away by service & care etc. but this review is the opposite of that.My first and hopefully only experience with Colonial Hyundai was receiving what I thought was regular junk mail offers in the mail...on closer look, it turned out to be the lowest kind of direct-mail marketing manipulation I have seen. A brochure impersonating/designed to look like Air Mail, Express Service, even with a warning of 5 year imprisonment for obstructing delivery of this letter, another side with a fake lottery ticket-like pull tab suckering people in to come to their Memorial Day sale event.Maybe they do give out the $200K in prizes, but seriously, they really send this garbage in the mail? I would never trust to buy from a dealership that would stoop this low and attempt to trick people/manipulate them into stopping by. No honor, or respect for the consumer imho.Respecting your potential customers is really important. I feel that if they were willing to stoop this low in their marketing/sales attempts and send 50K of these mailers out, they might also stoop low when it comes to actually getting someone to buy a car from them, and I thought it worth sharing about the mailer I got as a warning here in a review.
Came in with an email from Tammy they would work with my price range and a price from carguru i printed out. Came in to find that the car was deposited and sold to someone else but they would like to interest me in something else. I drove and hr to find the car was sold and they could not work with me unless i payed more. Not trustworthy people. Bunch of time wasters that lie.
This is always an amazing dealership experience in all aspects. After dealing with numerous auto brands and service departments over the years, (Ford, GM, VW, Benz, Honda, Chrysler), I continue to be impressed by overall Hyundai quality! Colonial Hyundai is just the best sales and service dealership I have ever encountered. James Carpenter always goes the extra mile to assure complete customer satisfaction! Just the best service advisor anywhere, period! My third Hyundai from Colonial, and I hope more to come. Everyone at Colonial, (John Ashdale, James Carpenter, Service advisors, Sales staff, Service techs); the best you will encounter anywhere. Five stars isnt enough!
The car ran great for a while. I took good care of it. Had a mechanic tell me there was obvious flood-damage. I didnt think much of it because it ran fine and looked okay.Once the fresh clean artificial smell left, the mildew kicked in. I took it to a second mechanic(was away for the summer) because I thought my car was leaking, and he also informed me it was most likely in a flood. He gave me examples like the mildew, window stains that just wont ever go away, and a deteriorating rust on the inside of the car.My car drove pretty good, but ive had more than a few sources with nothing to gain tell me it had flood signs written all over it.
Lou Ziegler was our salesperson and he was great to work with, he took our busy schedules into account and made the entire transaction very smooth. We made our first contact with an Internet rep named Laura who was very understanding about our scheduling difficulty and was very helpful with our questions. Thank you for a hassle-free, no pressure experience.
The car: Elantra limited fully loaded 2012 with tech package. They gave me the best price on my car among 6 dealerships in berks, chester, and montegomry counties . I didnt buy it from them coz I kept their offer on hold and I went to another dealer until the car was sold, when would the next car would come in,? the sales man, chris, said a day or two, he was true!!They kept following up with me and after I bought the car by one day after getting tired and losing my gamble, they called me to tell that the car was available. What a loss!!as I an ex-salesman myself, I really wanted their crew to earn my bussiness!!!...they did a lot to please me. From the presentation to the finacing to the price of the car.Maybe in a couple of yrs I will get back to them for another thing. Thanks to Mike Luttman, you are a very professional sales manager. Not pushy not sneaky.
This place is a scam, the sales reps are good (Neil) but there managers are terrible. I was quoted a price and then showed up to the dealership and was something totally different. Then the genius tried to get me to finance when i told the guy countless times i am here to purchase direct. The guy didnt even introduce himself or shake my hand before he statred talking. His first words were you like the car right that is real professional buddy. The car i wanted was advertised as certified pre owned on their website, once i got to the dealer they tried to tell me it was brand new meanwhile it has 1500 miles on it already. HA nice try buddy go sell your cars to a fool, but not me. I would not recommend this place to any one unless you want to be treated like a fool. They dont honor what they say and they do not negotiate. So good luck to whomever buys a car there.
After taking my vehice to another dealer for the same problem and being told to contat siriusxm (a total copout - i researched this on the net first doofus), i was pleasanty surprised to have Colonial look over my car, diagnose the issue and order the part and fix it, all under warranty.Ill be going back, both for service work and when its time to swap my car.Updated 2014-05-02 So, ive been taking my car to Colonial for a while now but my initial experience was obviously due to some folks having won some money or maybe made bonus - the service since then has been declining and today was the worst. Well over 2.5 hrs to have two tires changed, a fuel system service and the four tires rotated (seeing as two are already off for fitting and balancing, this becomes a much faster job). The two replacement tires were replaced under road hazard warranty - great. Just realize, you pay tax on these, based on the replacement price. Um, ok. Im sure its in th efine print attached to my invoice from when I bought the tires, right? Um, no, no attachment is even there. So lets get to the tire purchase. They had mailed me a buy 3, get 1 free tire coupon. Ok, great, I needed tires, so Ill utilize the coupon. Well, at the time, the price seemed high but today I now know why. Todays tires - cost per tire - $200. Decembers tires (buy 3, get one free) - cost per tire - $267. Ok, for those unable to do the math take $200 and divide by 3 = it gets you (rounded up) $67. Ok, take that $67 and add it to three tires, and thats how Colonial likes to do business. So, I can pay 4 X $200 = $800, or, i can get a bargain and pay 3 x $267 = $801. Hmm, interesting business practices.Well, theyll no longer do business with me. I would recommend you to steer very clear of this place.
Our salesman, Ben Gomez somehow managed to be both relaxed and professional: not all stiff and business-minded, but friendly, comfortable and determined to get the job done. I will definitely seek him again with my next purchase or perhaps lease. I have been very satisfied with my Elantra. The gas mileage has been a source of constant pleasure, the seats are comfortable, the car is roomy, there are numerous pockets and compartments to store items, and it has all the latest technology. There is only one thing I can think of that could have been improved and that is the interior windshield film. I can never seem to get it smear-free, but then this only distracts me at night and truly is a minor, rather petty, complaint. My Elantra has been a true blessing to my life.

2022-03-29The team at Hyundai Colonial were nothing short of spectacular. The services provided were stellar and we appreciate the team working with us and ensuring we have a safe vehicle for our family. We are currently under contract to purchase a house, which can cause issues when you need to buy a car. Our car was recently totalled in a accident which caused some urgency to purchase a vehicle. Thankfully, we were able to tell the team what our payments need to look like so that we do not run into any issues. They did not try to up sell but instead ensured our payments will be where we needed them to be. Tammy Zegac was professional and friendly. She made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire purchase and handled any additional details that came after the fact (we had to return a rental car, but she took care of it for us). Next time we need a vehicle, Hyundai Colonial will be our first stop.

2022-04-09I felt very welcomed when I went into this particular location, we had a few laughs before looking at cars! But I just wanted to thank my salesman Anthony again! Anthony did everything he could to get me into the car I had my eyes on. I originally went in to trade my Hyundai Sonata for a newer one but the new 2022 Hyundai Elantra is what I purchased! He also made me feel comfortable, not your typical “pushy” salesperson! He was very patient with me && the many questions I had 😂. I’ve had my car a little over a week now and I’m in love! Thanks to everyone that helped that day appreciate y’all! 🚘

2022-05-09Really enjoyed the visit to Colonial. After being at several other dealership who just were overall not friendly. Jim our salesman was fantastic. Funny, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure that my boyfriend was 100% happy with his purchase and that he was well informed on everything. He is what a salesperson should be like honest, upfront and work with the person to make the sale happen and everyone happy overall. Thanks Jim!! Will send others to you !

2022-06-02Everyone was extremely polite and courteous, willing to accommodate in any way. The ownership was fair and did not price gouge despite the recent car shortage. They made purchasing a car an extremely stress free and easy experience. I would highly recommend purchasing from this dealership!

2022-01-13Completely UNPROFESSIONALI initially called to schedule an appointment for check engine light. The service advisor(Michelle) asked if I would be dropping the car off or if I would be waiting. I asked if they had loaner cars. She rudely answered “if you aren’t aware there is a national car shortage, we haven’t had loaner cars in over a year “. I said okay I will be waiting then. Fast forward to today while dropping my car off. I told her I knew what the problem was Michelle replied with an attitude “Are you a mechanic?”Then she said we will call you when it’s done.I stated I will be waiting she said “no I have you down as a dropping off” I told her I said I’ll be waiting. She said “ feel free to sit here all day”I asked for my keys and left. I called service manager Steve to explain my experience. He was also very unprofessional his response “ I heard a different story from my advisors and have never had any problem with them before all I can do is apologize. “. He then hung up on me. Will not be returning after purchasing 3 vehicles from them.

2022-06-14Best place ever to buy a vehicle! Service and Sales are top notch. We have purchased seven Hyundai vehicles. Whatever the model, the performance has served us well. The trade in value has always been above expectations. The bottom line has always been affordable. Once you by a Hyundai at Colonial you wont have any reason to go anywhere else.

2022-05-07I recently bought a vehicle from this dealership and could not be happier! I have been to a few dealerships recently and none have been as welcoming as colonial. Jim b. Is a fantastic salesman! I absolutely love my purchase! I didnt have to play games back and forth and got a great car at a great price! Thanks colonial!

2022-06-18I gave my car for service this month. They performed a oil change and multipoint inspection. They recommended me to change filters and the service cost was around $200. I requested them trice to top up the basic fluids and reminded them constantly before picking the car. I took the car and drove to home to see my car not starting and heating up. I looked at fluids and saw that coolant was low right after the service. The car also would not start because the battery was dead and had to be replaced. I don’t know what the point of service was but I guess they just gave my car as is. Worst service center ever. Had very good experience with Hyundai except this one. I would never go back. Stay away. 😡😡😡

2021-12-07I had a very strange experience here, but a great one.I was on the way there to trade in my vehicle when my car broke down. The salesman I’d been working with, Michael, was very kind during the whole situation and took me back to the dealership to weigh our options. I was able to get the car I wanted, and they were able to get my old car started and complete the trade-in. Michael was an awesome salesman to work with and management was very understanding and willing to work with me.Cars are expensive everywhere right now and I don’t hold that against the dealership, Ive definitely seen worse prices elsewhere. I can’t speak to the new car buying experience, but the used car buying experience was excellent.

2022-05-25Our sales rep was nice, but everything about this place is disorganized. They could not find the keys for a vehicle we wanted to look at, they did not return our phone calls, and we also spent over 5 hours waiting to purchase a vehicle. If the market was not so crazy right now, we would have looked else where for our Santa Fe. Also, their sale price is not as advertised online. At the last minute they add on $1,785 in fees that are not even including additional fees for registration, lien...etc. They say it is in the fine print on the bottom of their website. Not one of my better experiences at a car dealership.
