We have been going to Dr. Ravi for two years. My cat will not let me groom him and has to be put under to get shaved. The process is very difficult. While he is an angel at home, my cat is not very fond of the vet or getting blood taken. Dr. Ravi and his staff have been so pleasant and positive for every visit. I feel like my cat is always in good hands. Dr. Ravi always makes sure my cat is at his healthiest before putting him under so there is very low risk of something going wrong. They even call the next day to make sure he is doing fine! Would recommend this vet to anyone in the area.
I cannot recommend Dr. Ravi enough for his caring, professional and expert knowledge and skills in everything animal related. Over the years we have owned 3 dogs and 10 cats. We have trusted Dr. Ravi with their care from everything ranging from routine checkups to complicated surgeries. We have never once been disappointed and to the contrary he has more than once saved our animals lives.I recently moved to New York and still make the trip down to Dr. Ravi in Pennsylvania for all of my vetting needs. He is the best.
I’ve been going to Dr. Murarka for over a decade. He’s a very experienced vet and has always recommended the best course of action for my animals and doesn’t waste my time or money with unnecessary care. He also has great staff members who are very patient, kind, and hard working. I definitely recommend him and his office for your pets!
Doctor and the staff are excellent. He has taken care of our little fur baby Marley for the last few months. He has seen him through a very difficult bladder surgery. I am sure if I had taken him somewhere else. Marley would not be with us today. His staff is kind and good with animals He is truly the compassionate vet. He works very hard and has always been there when we needed him.
I have a psycho cat, Evander, who I took in off the street 5 years ago and who doesnt let anyone handle him. He also does not allow anyone to brush him and had developed pretty bad matting on his back that I could tell was starting to hurt him. Dr. Ravi agreed to come to my house to sedate him and shave the matting off. I was so nervous and worried that he wouldnt be able to handle my cat or that my cat would freak out. But he was amazing. Quick and efficient with minimal stress to my cat. Not only did I get his matting taken care of but we also got his shots up to date! And the price was surprisingly low ($275 for house call, dematting, rabies shot, distemper, deworming med, nail clipping). I seriously couldnt be happier with my experience with this vet. I definitely recommend house calls from Dr. Ravi for anyone with difficult or easily stressed animals. Im so glad I found Dr. Ravi.
I was faced with the most difficult decision you make for your smallest family member. I had to have my sons boyhood dog put to sleep yesterday. The entire staff of Compassion Veterinary Clinic were AMAZING! They were patient, supportive, and very professional. I have taken my dog to this clinic throughout her lifetime and would recommend these excellent people to any and all for their pets healthcare. Truly, they are compassionate!!!
First I took my rabbit there to get spayed and had no issues with the place. Beforehand I asked if I should get my other rabbit spayed also, who is 7 years old, and he told me I definitely shouldnt because shes too old and it would be very risky. A few months later I made an appointment for my parrot for an annual check up and the vet barely did anything. He weighed her, cut her nails and said that she was great. Next I took my older rabbit there because she had a growth on her stomach. The vet said it was only attached to the skin but it should be removed. After that he also told me I should get her spayed...after telling me a few months ago it would be way too risky. This really made us question if he cared about the animals or if he really just cared about making money. We also brought my dog in along with my rabbit because he kept getting really bad hotspots that caused him a lot of pain. The vet shaved the area of the hot spot, totally overdid the shaving and charged about $40 just for that when I could have gone home and just done it myself. He gave us a medicine to give my dog for the hot spots and heartworm medication which was all super expensive but we were desperate to get my dog feeling better. We noticed after giving him the medication that he was getting much worse. He didnt eat for days, barely drank water, or slept. We looked up the medication the vet gave us and it said there have been many deaths in dogs from this medication and listed the same side effects he was having. The vet prescribed way too high of a dose. We were furious. We then took him to the Harleysville Veterinary Clinic who helped our dog feel better right away and charged us, not even close to the ridiculous amount that Compassion Vet did. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE. They will rob you while making your pet feel worse.
Dr. Murarka is the only vet I would ever trust with my rabbits. Its very difficult to find ANY vet who will deal with rabbits at all, and so I feel extremely lucky that I got such a good one! He has spayed/neutered three of my babies so far, all with great results. He is honest, offers low prices, and is currently helping my poor newest baby rabbit recover from a nasty bout of the snuffles (quite possibly pneumonia). I dont know if shell make it or not, but I feel confident that Dr. Murarka is doing everything he can to help get better and I appreciated his honesty about the gravity of her condition. When I called him tonight worried about her nose being too plugged up to breathe, he gave me some suctioning devices free of charge and took the time to show me how to use it. The office staff is very sweet and friendly as well! Highly recommended.
Our dog got bit by a spider right above her eye in the evening and by morning half her head was severely swollen with her one eye closed shut. Compassion Vet Clinic was willing to take us in right away to address the problem. Dr. Murarka explained all the procedures and options for treatment thoroughly and willingly answered our questions. Our dog is back to normal now and Im thankful we got the help we needed!
Dr. Murarka is the kindest, most caring veteranarian. Yesterday I found a feral cat and her three kittens (they were already weaned), and caught them with the intent of finding them new homes and having the mother fixed. I called several vets, shelters, and clinics, and not one of them could offer me an appointment until at least a week from now. We were in no shape to keep an unknown feral cat with us for that long, so we thought we would have to bring her to ACCT or the SPCA. Then I called Dr. Murarka whose receptionist got us an appointment for 3PM that day (she even offered me one at 11AM). I brought them all to Dr. Murarka, who was so incredibly kind that he basically charged us only the cost of the medicines they needed but not for his service. Today is a Saturday and Dr. Murarka doesnt do surgeries on Saturday but he made an exception for us. He gave all three kittens their first shots, checked them out, tested the mother for FiV/FeLV, gave her shots, then held her until they had the results of the blood work, spayed her, and had her out by 6PM today. I have three healthy kittens and a vaccinated, spayed mother. I cannot thank Dr. Murarka and his lovely staff enough. I will never use another vet.If you love your pets and dont want to take them to a vet who is only in it for the money, or to a crowded practice where you will get no attention, then you should go to Dr. Murarka.
Really disappointed in Dr. Ravi.Took our dog in for her bi-annual check up. He completed had a stool sample and confirmed she had tape worm. We had been buying marked up Heartguard worm preventative for our dog since she was a pup from this vet, so was shocked to find this out. He immediately prescribed a pill, Plozin, which he charged a significant amount for ($90-something dollars for 4 pills). After contacting Heartguard to find out whether they would cover the costs if any treatment per their guarantee on their website, they confirmed they had never heard of the treatment Dr Ravi had prescribed and advised to NOT give it to her as they do not endorse it. I decided to google Plozin.... I could not believe that the only websites that sold this treatment pill was from India and in Rupees. 760 Rupees for 20 pills - convert that, its about USD$11. He charged me $90+ for 4 pills!I contacted another vet and asked to have a second opinion. They completed a lab stool sample the same day (no treatment was given in between) and her results came back negative for any worms. I confronted Dr. Ravi regarding this and he claimed his stool samples are done by the naked eye rather than any lab work, and he saw worms. I returned the Plozin to him and got my money back, took my file and changed vets. I am really disappointed in this practice. I put all my trust into this vet practice to do the right thing by both my dog and by me.
*Malpractice* 1 hour after he couldnt find fluid crushing my kittens body my cat collapsed. 30 minutes later a real vet found enough fluid in his abdominals that he needed to be put down that day. For the last two weeks we visited Doctor Ravi 5 times and spent $2,000. Im still not sure if he was incompetent or a money hungry fraud. Rest in peace kitten.
I wouldnt even mind that they charged me a LOT of money, because honestly all veterinary clinics do.. What I hate is that mr. Muranka treated my dog as sack of money. Actually, he treated me the same. I had to ask plenty of questions because vet didnt put it in clear way and he looked that I was bothering him by wanting to know more. If you really need to spend your money, spend it on different place - where they will treat you with respect and compassion . Its irony that they are using this word in their clinic name. Never more !
They have always been helpful especially in emergencies. Banfield in Plymouth meeting turned me in an emergency and they helped me. The cost is around the same as other estimates in the area. The call situation is weird so make sure you are talking to which ever location you are attempting to contact e.g Blue Bell or Philly.

2022-07-30Dr. Ravi is definitely a doctor… the clinic is very dingy and the exam room is dirty and has pet hair everywhere. He had us pin my cat down to draw blood missing the vein and bursted some. He shaved my cat in three different places and forced him to draw blood despite the struggle. He uses a communal towel for every pet (full of hair) and i watched him fold up my cats shaved fur into that towel and put it back in the cabinet. He will love on your pet in the beginning of the visit but does not handle them well. They do not call to follow up after surgeries or after giving medication. Doesn’t explain test results or what medication is needed for. Compassion also did not seem to run all the test needed for a new kitten and didn’t have all of the records when we transferred to Tooper Vet. Overall awful experience at Compassion, please don’t take your pets here.

2019-05-01I really love Compassion Vet Clinic, they saved my dogs life!!! She was extremely ill and needed to have an emergency surgery and I could not afford it , the doctor worked with me on the payment by making payment arrangements and preformed the surgery. . He is amazing and once the surgery was complete he and the staff constantly called me to ensure she was ok. Thanks to them my dog is healthy , happy and back to her normal self.. I highly recommend them because they are truly compassionate.

2022-04-19This place is excellent, helpful, and satisfied with a doctor except a lady who is answering the call. It seems like she is the wife of the doctor, and she was not cooperative at all. The way she talk was extremely rude. When I asked her a copy of my dogs prescription, she was not cooperate with it, and I felt that she was annoyed over the phone.. This is not the first time that she irritates me. When I tried to schedule a surgery as urgent, she was angry for some how. Every time I call this vet for any reasons she ruins my day. Absolutely rude.

2019-06-06Best, most caring vet I have known. The other reviews echo my experience. I called Dr. Murarka 9:30 at night when my poodle became terribly sick. Dr. Murarka met me at the office and helped us start my dog on medications. The doctor was dead tired and on his way home from U Penn, but didnt complain or charge extra. Compassion clinic is appropriately named. They are the best! You should see my poodle now. Shes full of energy at age 10 and acting like a puppy!Update: at age 13 shes still very energetic and doing great!Update: at age 14 and 1/2 shes still doing great, full of energy!Update: at age 17 shes slowing down a bit, but still healthy

2021-09-20I called to get a copy of my dog’s medical record because I was going to transfer her to trooper vet. I was told they had no records of my dog. She has been their patient for 5 years. I don’t understand how you could lose a patients medical record. They have records for my previous pets who are now deceased but don’t have my other dog’s information who is currently a patient at their clinic. Now you can see why I’m going to transfer her to a new vet.

2020-12-27Took my dog to be spayed here due to the fact that this clinic accepted FOA vouchers. Big mistake on my part. First off, I received no discharge instructions at all. Just the bill & my certificate of spay. I was charged more despite the voucher covering certain costs. The girls at the desk were friendly & somewhat knowledgeable, but I want to hear from the actual doctor as to what I should expect after a major surgery. Never heard from the doctor, never received follow up call. Unfortunately, the wound started to open slightly. I had to call the vet on Xmas Eve since this was what I would consider an emergency if a wound is starting to open. Dr. Ravi was so rude and continued to make me feel like it was my fault that my dogs wound was opening. He made sure to remind us numerous times that he was coming in on his day off to treat my pet. The worst part was when he inserted staples into her incision with no local anesthetic. He has NO compassion, despite the name of his clinic. He charged us $100 for something that was not our fault. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ill go to a real vet next time and receive better care and treatment for my pets.

2021-01-22I took my sweet 2yr old Frenchie rescue to this clinic for her Friends of Animals spay in the beginning of January. I was very nervous, especially because I had read a review that was not favorable about a similar situation. I could not have been happier with how things went. I had my pets bloodwork done at her usual vet and sent it over so they had it for the day of surgery. I arrived, was met by the vet tech, who ran through everything with me, and in went my little girl. I got a call mid-day that they discovered that she also had an umbilical hernia and would repair that as well. When she was finished, I picked her up, they went over her surgery with me, what to expect, and answered my questions. I was not rushed and they clearly cared. They gave me pain medication for her to feel more comfortable over the next 6 days and I bought the cone so she would not chew at her stitches. I ended up opting for a onesie because my little girl did not adjust to the cone very well, but that wasnt the vets fault. I did receive a bill for the cone, pain medication, antibiotics, but the staff had gone over that with me before her surgery, so it was expected. Its been 2+ weeks and her incisions are healing very nicely. I would recommend this clinic to others, they did a nice job.

2018-05-14This review is long overdue as I dont typically review, but our Shih Tzu, Eva brings us such joy every day, I wanted to give a huge 5 stars to Dr. Ravi for saving her life on New Years Eve/Day. Eva started acting sickly over Christmas, of course the worst time of year to deal with holiday hours at the vet and a busy family schedule. We took Eva to Dr. Ravi after a day or so of rest and a change of diet to see if it would resolve on its own, but no luck. He did some blood work; he had suspicions that it could be Pyometra but not positive. We took Eva home and the next-day blood results were not good. She was failing quickly :( but it was New Years Eve and Dr. Ravi was out of town and the office was closed. Dr. Ravi felt that she was in fact suffering from Pyometra and said she would probably not make it much longer without surgery, and even had doubts that she would make it through the surgery. He called us early evening on New Years Eve and offered to drive back from a trip visiting family to operate on Eva. He was assisted by his lovely college-aged daughter (his regular staff was not available as the office was closed on the holiday)performed an emergency surgery at 8:00 pm on New Years eve! It was so scary :( As Compassion Vet is not an animal hospital offering overnight care, he sent Eva home with us to be monitored. His fee was reasonable and I opened a Carecredit account, which was great. She made a miraculous and complete recovery! Post-surgery, she is so playful and happy, she is like a new dog! Dr. Ravi went above and beyond to help us and we will be forever grateful. Thank you for your compassion Dr. Ravi!

2020-03-08My kingsnake had a cyst and I took him here to be checked out. Both the doctor and the one nurse present were very gentle with him, and I got the impression they genuinely cared for the animals well being.I felt in general, they tried to keep the costs down and avoided expensive treatments/options unless it was necessary. At the end, they did successfully drain the cyst and the snake is now doing fine. Based on my experience with them I would recommend this clinic to others.

2019-06-02I am new to the area and saw some great reviews online- so I took my very sick cat in to see the vet. It was an awful experience- they stuck him multiple times to do a blood draw, was rough with him and over charged us tremendously. I went back a few days later and asked for some advice and he offered to give my cat a DAB of appetite stimulator - wanted to charge me $50! The office was old, dirty and smelled. I have since moved to Cats Only Vet Hospital- which has been professional and compassionate.
