This store is awesome. Ive always loved and collected edged tools and weaponry and this place has everything. The displays are beautiful, the staff is so helpful and nice and excellent, and the selection is breathtaking. Prices are significantly higher than ordering online or at other retailers, but the knowledge of the staff and the ability to see everything on display and actually handle premium blades before purchasing makes the price worth it. Id much rather spend extra money supporting an awesome house packed with epic weapons than get it cheap and send a billionaire to space. I will definitely be back.
This store seems to have knowledgeable staff, and superb selection. Prices are a little bit high but I would prefer to buy and support local, because I appreciate brick and mortar stores that not only allow you to see physical goods before buying, but also provide actual customer service.I arrived at the store today at 4:00pm with $700 cash in hand to do two things. I wanted to first get a quick comparison of the in-stock kukri blades to purchase a decent mid-grade quality camping and bug out bag knife to accompany my BK-2. I also wanted to acquire ideally a GB wildlife hatchet, or a GB small forest axe if possible to upgrade from my Adler.Unfortunately, both sales reps were busy, so I did a few rounds through the cases to wait for a rep to become available. I ended up standing by the front case waiting for help. Instead of getting assistance, though, I was passed up multiple times while other customers were helped. I was finally helped at around 4:25, which I understand is definitely pushing the clock. When I told the sales rep my intention, I was instead informed that they didnt really have time to help me do a comparison because it could easily take 30 minutes. Im pretty disappointed, because I really dont mean to waste anyones time, I just honestly wanted a quick overview of maybe 2-3 suggestions. Unfortunately, its a bit far from home to just take a casual drive over tomorrow.Regardless, I do still recommend this place to people, just make sure that you give yourself plenty of time before closing to receive assistance. Everyone seemed nice enough.
I didnt buy anything but from the brief moment I was in there it was extremely clean and nicely set up. The staff was nice but the owner (I think) went above and beyond with his kindness. He changed my flat tire and also showed me how to do it again as well as gave me helpful information about cars as well. He didnt make me feel dumb for not knowing how to change the tire or ask for anything in return. If you ever need a good quality knife with amazing customer service please shop here. You will not regret it.
We dropped our kitchen knives off to get sharpened on a Friday morning and they were ready for pickup on Tuesday morning when they opened. It is so much nicer having safe sharp knives to use while cooking. Would highly recommend! Be sure to check their sharpen schedule on their website or call to get the dates for drop off and pickup.
I always make a stop here whenever Im in the area. The staff definitely knows their stuff! Im usually asking for their input on which commercial knife is preferred, only for them to recommend me a knife thats better in every way for the same price and will last for decades!Basically, anything with a blade is sold here - from Game of Thrones themed swords to nosehair clippers.
Really nice people! I called the shop as Im a long ways away from them and wanted to make sure they had what I was ordering in-stock as the site said they did. It was close to their closing time but they were super friendly checked and made sure they had the knife stand and let me know. I ordered it and then called them a couple more times to make sure dimensions and everything else was right for my knife. They shipped it super fast and packed well. I will do business with them again. Thanks for your great service!
I was actually in the store when this happened and it was kind of startling. There is a guy who works there or owns it Im not sure with long hair and is or was very rude to the customer. He needs to learn manners and how to treat customers. Would not recommend this store due to that fact. I read his response to the customers complaint but I saw it first hand. Excuses does not cover up the fact he was extremely rude. The customer pays his wages and the bills. Will not return.
This little shop is packed with a TON of many different knives. I originally was looking at knives on various websites but was wishing to see them in person before deciding. I was so happy to find this place. It made a huge difference to see, hold and operate many different shapes and sizes. And just as helpful were the staff. They were very knowledgeable and conversational. I saw a couple Google reviews say this place was more expensive. I cant confirm if that is true or not. But for me it was very valuable to have access so such a big selection in one place. I recommend going!
I live in the general vicinity of the store but used the website to order a much sought after knife. Everything was flawless, yes a little pricey but I feel the added expense is worth the access to some of these sprint run knives. Also, they added gifts to my order which is appreciated, I will be ordering from them again. Great experience!
Smaller selection of Benchmade, Kershaw and ZT knives, fairly large selection of Spyderco discontinued, sprint run, and current production knives. Every knife in the store is marked up by a substantial amount. Many are at MSRP and some knives are even well above MSRP. I get that it is a small business, and with a store like this you are paying for the ability to hold and flip knives before buying, and being able to buy discontinued knives. I can think of at least 4 websites where you could go and buy the same knives for anywhere from $30 dollars to $150 dollars lessI asked the sales clerk if they price match with other dealers and they immediately told me they do not and became rude with me. The only thing this store is good for is going in to try knives just to leave and buy the same thing for $110 dollars less.Do your research before you buy a knife. Just simply type the name in on Google and I can guarantee you will find it cheaper. I would really like to support a local knife store like this, but the combination of crazy prices and rude staff makes it hard.
Photo says everything. Management response “As designated, the blade is not stainless steel (or stain-free) and is subject to corrosion and rust, best cleaned with kitchen cleanser to remove orange rust. Over time, use and food acids will patinate the blade to a dark blue-grey color which gives some protection against corrosive rust. That said, the blade is preforming as it should and regretfully not subject to return/warranty.“With respect to Management’ response to my review, I am sorry for YOUR confusion. The knife has never been used at my beach home, so your suggestion that “the corrosive nature of the ocean air” is the cause of the problem is without merit.Mr. Hegel’s sarcasm and blaming customers for his products’ flaws appear to be consistent with other customer’s negative reviews of his demeanor.I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THIS COMPANY AT 4:54 PM CALLING ME IGNORANT. IF THATS NOT RUDE, I DONT KNOW WHAT IS.
Great store to see the range of decent knives, scissors, sharpening kit etc. all next to each other. You can hold them, talk to knowledgeable staff and walk out with something in pretty short order. Theyre nice people, certainly not the normal intimidating knife guys. Well worth stopping in.
Though I understand they have to pay for a brick and mortar store and are very knowledgeable, I just don’t understand why the prices need to be inflated to the levels they are at this store. Almost 2-fold price increases over many online retailers leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I challenge them to offer more competitive pricing and though their margins may drop, I bet their revenues increase.Great inventory, but prices make it a great store for window shopping.
Very helpful staff here at this store. Got a very high quality knife at a good price, and its a bonus being able to support a small local business. Being able to see the product in hand before buying is a huge benefit for some products, and the service makes the trip worth it.
We love going here. They have something for the entire family and the staff is extremely knowlegable. They helped us get small Spyderco pocket knives for our daughters, a nice pair of scissors for Mom and plenty of cool stuff for me. We make sure we stop by any time were in the area and have never been disappointed (We live in NY). In fact, I just called them with some help for a gift idea for a friend and am going to order their suggestion from their online store.
Dont be fooled, it used to be a house and was converted to a store, so it does look like youre pulling into a persons driveway. The store employees are very friendly and extremely helpful. Perfect place to go to check out knives and get them in hand so you know how they feel when using them. Staff was knowledgeable and likes talking about blades, which is perfect for the massive selection they have. I will definitely be returning at some point, even though I live pretty far away.
I had seen signs for the store several times so today I dropped by. Brenna greeted me right away, and she proved to be exceptionally knowledgeable about knives and kitchen implements. She explained in great detail how the sharpening system works and how the different makes of knives are designed. I will be returning along with my wife soon!
The most backwards Biden liberal store you could shop in Lancaster. We went to the store on June 3rd and was told to leave because we had no mask. We bought masks and returned the next day. We were told to wait outside because they were still enforcing masks and capacity limits June 4th 2021. We have done what we have been asked to do and been vaccinated. This store does not care. This is the only business from Gettysburg to Lancaster that does not follow CDC guidelines that we have visited.
Awesome selection - extremely high prices. I understand that you cant always beat internet pricing, but I purchased 2 knives for a total price of $100 including tax. I looked the same knives up on Amazon and would have saved over $40. If you need to handle a knife before you buy and dont mind the higher price for that privilege Ive never seen a better in-stock inventory.
Pretty good selection, but prices are insanely high. Good place to look and touch, but unless theyre willing to barter...save some money and make the purchase online. I saw some knives and accessories marked up as much as 50-60% over what they should be, simply because they stock items harder to find (for the area.) Be sure to research market prices before you spend your hard earned cash.
They had a Buck 199 Pilot, that was discontinued many years ago. I had this knife for 10 years and had lost it 3 years ago and have been looking for it. They not only had it but shipped it Saturday across the US and I had received it on Monday in perfect condition. Thanks guys and I will definitely do business with you again, oh and the package even had a hand written Thank You note in it too 👍
Amazing selection of knives, however, the prices are astronomical. I would rather order online and get a fair price. If you are buying more of an expensive knife do not purchase one at this store... cheaper to get almost all knives at this location from bladehq or knifecenter. A benchmade 51 should NOT be sold for 350$ rather close to 295$. The prices are too high. This place is a tourist trap by racking up prices to the max.
The store is huge with an amazing selection of bladed tools. Most brands are represented. The staff are helpful, outgoing, and knowledgeable. I dealt with the mother and she was awesome. I wanted to buy a knife from her. I really did. What held me back and the reason I only give four stars is the pricing. A multitool for sale for $95 shipped online is $129 plus tax in store. A knife for sale online for $180 shipped goes for $330 in store. I dont mind paying a premium for local shops to support them, but that is too much of a premium to me. Check out their website and compare with Amazon or eBay if you have a specific product in mind before making the trip.
Awesome store! The selection is impressive with everything from Benchmade to Swiss to CRKT, there is a knife for everyone here. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and knew the story behind every knife I asked about. Will definitely be returning here and recommending to friends!
If you want a knife or anything with a blade, this is the place to go. They have a terrific selection of pocket knives, hunting knives, kitchen cutlery - seriously...anything with a blade. You could spend a lot of time looking at the inventory. The staff is very knowledgeable and will spend time helping you find what you want. This is not a discount shop so expect to pay MSRP or better. Sometimes you just want to touch a knife youre interested in and this is the place to do it!
This place is a hidden gem. Our son frequents this place with his knife enthusiast friends. We had never heard of it until we asked him what he wanted for Christmas. This place offers a wide array of sharp stuff...from pocket knives to axes to swords to commercial grade cooking utensils. And the people are SUPER nice and extremely knowledgeable! My first visit was by myself on a Friday, and I went back the following Monday with my husband because I knew he would love it. DB (the initials on the receipt...lol) helped us both times and he knows his stuff! Now, regarding the previous comments about pricing...yes, there are some items with high price tags; however, most items are reasonably priced. The assurance of quality and AUTHENTICITY is always questionable (in my opinion) when buying online. Not at this place. Go ask DB about the Spyderco brand. 4 manufacturing plants, and only 1 in the USA (Colorado). The others are in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and somewhere else. The products that come out of each of these plants range significantly in quality. So beware, when you see the Spyderco brand in places like Walmart and Cabelas, because thats probably where you will get ripped off when it comes to price vs. quality. The take away...go to Country Knives...if nothing else, at least you can say you were in INTERCOURSE!
The selection of knives was incredible. They had all the good quality brands including Spyderco, Benchmade, Buck, K-bar, Cold Steel and more. It is a small store that is family run. The people there are friendly and knowledgeable. They it is nice being able to actually hold all the knives and see how they feel in your hands. All this said, they are more expensive. But this is to expected with a retailer.
Recently visited Pennsylvania and happened to see some signs about one of the biggest knife shops in the world. I showed up and there was a truck and trailer blocking the only entrance and parking lot. Very unfortunate the first time I came here while it was “open “ I couldn’t even get in due to lousy spacing. May have knowledgeable staff and a nice selection but I’ll never know.
My son-in-law is a knife aficionado and loves this store. We live out-of-town and visit nearby relatives once a year. We always stop at this store. Great merchandise, good service, much information on their merchandise. Wouldnt miss stopping in. Were very happy with our purchases.
The best selection of knives youll find anywhere in the country. The staff is completely knowledgeable and will help you to your best option. Additionally, they do provide knife sharpening service. Folders, fixed blades, axes to kitchen ware. They have it all. I purchased a Gransford Bruks axe there a few years back. I didnt think they would have what I was looking for, but decided to stop in. Not only did they have it, brought out 5 for me to choose the wood grain I preferred in the handle. Bar none the best knife store anywhere
They sell name brand knives that are way overpriced you can get the same ones Online from reputable knife dealers and save yourself some money!!! their customer service has a lot to be desired... very rude and demeaning at times. If youre in the area looking for a knife I suggest search online avoid this place at all cost.....
They have a huge selection of knives at reasonable prices. Its a little tight to navigate in a wheelchair- I wouldnt try it in a powerchair.Only downside is their parking lot. There are no lines anywhere which you know, causes mass chaos in humans. And there isnt even one handicapped parking space. Im not really sure how places get away with that in 2018.
Extremely high prices and rude staff. Why pay 25-50% more than MSRP when MAP is way less? And theres no reasoning with them. The prices are what they are and they throw a fit when you mention how expensive the prices are. I dont even know how they are still in business this day and age.
Their customer service was great -- I stopped in while passing through from out of town -- the staff I found very knowledgeable, and I had a great chat about sharpening with the owner/proprietor of the shop.I found them to be very helpful, with a minium of bluster -- no trying to push products on you that you dont need, or arent interested in, and they have tried most of them, and can give you a good idea of what you can expect from using them (sharpening products, lubricant/protectant coatings, axes, etc.).I drove right by it the first time -- I wasnt expecting it to be part of a home/house -- but when you step in the door, youll be surprised at how much youll find. They should have something for just about anyone --- though I wish they had more wood-working related gear (plane-irons, chisels, etc.).
My wife and I where returning from Paradise PA on business, we started seeing signs for The Greatest Knife Shop On The Whole Planet about 50 miles out. We saw so many wild claims we had to stop to either be awed or smack someone. Country knives is actually as they claim. Worth driving out of your way, buying online does not do it justice. We bought top end kitchen knives, K-bar military knives that I did not know where still made, even foot scrubbies. Best if you make sure your credit cards are paid down before you go. Their prices are not expensive but quality costs, I mean if you plan on buying a lifetime knife be prepared to pay for it. They are my go to source , (via internet now) for life.Thank you for teaching me how to sharpen a knife after 50 years of trying.Sterling and Raaya ChurginSouthampton New York
Prices are outrageous. A brand new Benchmade 51-BK butterfly knife from Benchmade is approx. $270. These guys are asking $375. Insane. Workers are uppity and rude. Quick to kick you out if its anywhere close to 5pm. Never seen a store run out business especially on knives that have a have huge markup. Only gave 2 stars because of their knife selection was actually impressive.
THE MARK UPS ARE INSANE. most of their knives are above MSRP. How does one justify selling a product $30-$50 ABOVE MSRP?!?!!! I go simple to put a knife im interested in purchasing in my hands, and then order it online for a reasonable price. Its a damn shame too. Id love to support an oldbfamily owned and operated company but i just cant justify spending an extra $50 on a knife or axe. If youre a smart consumer, youll buy from another company where the prices are reasonable
Knives are all overpriced, if you are looking for a butterfly knife then dont pay 70 dollars pay 20 on a website an have it delivered, their cheapest bayonete is 160 dollars but I found the same one online for 20 and the same quality. The only use for the store is to see if you like a knife so you can go outside and buy it online for half the price
Huge selection and friendly staff. Unfortunately the prices were quite high. I was looking for a specific Benchmade but Country Knives was $20 higher than Cabelas, and $40 higher than Amazon. In addition, I was told it was a $15 premium for the black coated version which wasnt the case at either of the other stores.

2022-06-05I was looking for places local to purchase a few knives and found Country Knives. I took a look through the photos online and the place looks great; that is until I took a look at their website to see what all they offer and WOW is all I have to say. The first WOW is the selection is amazing and vast but thats where it stops. The second WOW comes from the prices. Im all for supporting local business and Im willing to pay a higher price to do so but a 35-40% markup is just too much. I dont mind paying $220-230 for a knife thats $200 online but asking $270-280 is just ridiculous. Its really a shame too because this would be the type of place I could frequent.

2022-05-14We arrived at 4:22pm and was told they were closed. We actually came from SC to the area and was super excited about visiting the store. We came with 9 people and plan to shop big. The man said sorry and we are not open tomorrow either. Can I say rude. With economy the way it is he should have welcomed customers and made a big sale. He must have plenty of money and not need it. Bottom line was that he was rude. To bad for him he lost a sale and received this review. I would not recommend. He does not know hospitality.

2022-07-21Nice selection of knives in a nice area. Other than that, Id steer clear. Ive been there twice by myself, and was given the cold shoulder by staff who were less than friendly. Akin to some gun shops who seem bothered that youre there at all. Very high prices plus bad attitudes equals bad review.

2022-06-02Sales staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Looked at a chefs knife and was ready to buy until I was told the price. I asked if they ever go on sale and he said no. Got the model number and checked out the knife online at manufacturers store to find it at 65% of what he wanted to sell it to me for. The manufacturers list price was lower than theirs. Watch out and do your homework before you buy from these guys.

2022-07-04Background on me: Ive been collecting and using knives for work and EDC for 20+yrs.Knives here are 50-100% mark up. 50$ knives go for 75$. 160$ knives go for 300$.They have everything, just over priced. Nevermind the attitude based around Buy or leave. Its a tourist trap.

2021-03-23Thanks so much for sharing the contact information for Rock USA Cutlery. Mr. Rockwell did a great job repairing and restoring my husband’s 27 year old knife! We really appreciate it.

2021-11-13They were incredibly helpful in choosing a good chefs knife that will last a long time. They also have some great products like an incredibly nice cutting board and a good spatula which I had been looking for for a very long time unsuccessfully. Thanks to the incredibly helpful staff I have a razor sharp knife being used constantly showing no signs of dulling for significantly less than I was planning to spend. Have also bought a knife here previously for backpacking and this place is the best around.

2022-01-30It is one of the best knife stores in the United States, they have an amazing inventory, many of them discontinued and Brians service is very good. I totally recommend them
