Creep Records in other cities:
This place is great. Super helpful staff, especially Will. Their customer service is fantastic. In the past, theyve helped me put together my first vape, showed me how to get more mileage out of my Pod Mod pods, and are currently being very proactive in helping me with a faulty Pod Mod.
One of my favorite record stores in Philly. One of the best selections in hardcore/metal Ive ever seen. If you have any questions regarding record players, possible new pressings, or really anything else the staff are extremely helpful. Would recommend any audiofile check this place out.
Nice place, they frequently have live gigs even when they dont advertise them, and they are very easy going about browsing and watching. As the place is both a head shop and a record shop, I will do reviews for each, and then one combined. The record shop: kinda small, but they pack a lot into the space they have. If you are looking to do serious crate digging, howeverthis isnt the place. Most of their records are full-priced and new, or used and still expensive (no sweat, they gotta make a buck too). The selection also tends to be geared towards Alternative/Metal/Emo/that whole scene music, which figures considering their whole aesthetic. Again, this is totally fine, just not so much what I was looking for. I did find some good ones, and I think you will too. Head shop: GREAT selection with lovely custom pieces. Not the biggest or best stocked head shop, and the prices are pretty steep, however, they have nice quality and a good selection. This isnt really the type of head shop where they haggle, however, so keep in mind you will prolly pay the price listed. Also interesting, but kinda random: the headshop parts windows have to be covered to the outside by PA law, but the rest of the windows dont. Nice selection and friendly staff. Overall: Fun place to visit, definitely worth checking out, perfect if youre into that scene. Prices will be steep, prolly because its in a pricey area, and its location is a bit strange---if you havent been around the area before, you can definitely easily miss it. I reccommend visiting this place, its a good time.
Update on first post....Creep was great to work with and resolve the issue. So I upped the rating. Good folks.Ill update this post and review score (1 star) if I get an answer back from the store. I ordered 11 albums through the online store on Nov. 27 and received a payment confirmation. They didnt ship for 17 days and then it took another 13 days before I received the shipment today, Dec. 26. Only one LP was in the box even though the packing slip shows all 11 ordered as enclosed. I tried calling the number noted on the packing slip and the webpage and it goes straight to voicemail, noting the mailbox is full, please call back...Ive purchased records from dozens of online stores and never had to wait 30 days to receive an order (and still waiting.....).
The perfect store for Fishtown yuppies. Obscenely high prices, only new records and re-issues. Used selection is terrible and over-priced. The bands theyve showcased are trash, the smoke shoppe portion overpowers the rest of the store to where after 20 or so minutes I had to start covering my face. Its an Urban Outfitters for Fishtown Yuppie Scum, with bad customer service included!
Records? Got those? Vape juices? Check. Live events? That, too. Its a nook of the piazza worth visiting. A little bit of everything, for everyone. From the classics to the new wave, its all there. If it isnt? Theyll help you find it.And dont forget about Record Day. Exclusive items for the day that can make even the grumpiest of bears smile. Go in, walk around, and take it in. All of it. Enjoy yourself.
The staff were rude and passive agressive. The shop could be a very cool place but the attitude of the staff was as if they did not want me in the shop. It made me not want to be there. As far as selection, Creep’s record selection is not particularly robust and prices are a little high. There are better record stores if that’s what you are looking for.
Placed a fully paid on-line order on May 7th. Its now June 18th, and Im still waiting for the shipment. Talked to several people at the store who assured me it was on its way. Hey, I want to support my local record stores and artists. But dudes, youre running a business, so take it seriously!
Pre-ordered a limited edition record months ago and received an email today (after they have had my money for months) saying they did not get their shipment as promised and would either send me a refund or the non-limited edition of the same item. WTH.. Are you kidding.. I now have to pay on an auction site 3+ times the amount of money for this item I was promised, and I have been without the money I spent for it for months now. I could have had better luck playing the stock market with my money, and at least gained some interest on it.. Poor business ethic.. Sorry I took a chance..
I walked into the store, shopping, was totally ignored as the sales clerk talked on her phone, As I went into the back portion of the store, I just happened to mention the M word ( we all know what that is) I was very abruptly, and with rude attitude told, I had to vacate the premises immediately, and that it was a state law. OMG no apologies, no explanations, nothing. I mean seriously, the merchandise the store sells is not cheap. They are retail. Im the customer, I definitely, deserved better service then I got there. I guess you have to use sign language when you shop there. If you can handle the rude clerks.
Im not sure when the last dude first came into Creep but the record selection has increased about 10x from when we expanded back in April 2014 and I feel like we have one of the largest and strongest new record selections in philly. As for the smoke shop, were the largest high quality American glass smoke shop in philly so were always gonna stay big on that side too. Were always trying to make both sides as great as possible and we have more exciting things coming!
Was literally tracked down and contacted via facebook the day after my nearly $500 purchase telling me that there was miscommunication requesting that I pay them an additional $120 to ensure the artists get paid. Creep is a fitting name. I guess this is a poorly run business where managers would rather violate their own all sales are final policy than admit they made a mistake.
This record store had a surprisingly intense selection of rare punk, hardcore and metal!! It was very dangerous to my budget as I could not resist purchasing such awesome records as Under the Sign of Hell, and Destroyer, both from the band Gorgoroth; The Captains Birthday Party, a rarity from The Damned (not even currently available on Discogs); Ashes by Christian Death; and... the new CZARFACE-/-MF DOOM collaboration. I could have done even more damage, but I have a mortgage to think about... and tomorrow is another day.Really great record shop... right in the middle of the Piazza in Northern Liberties/Fishtown area!!Oh... Its also a very respectable head shop with very nice glass wear and vaporizers for the discerning connoisseur.
I have been trying to recover my piece from creep for years, they apparently gave it too amar who took it appart and asked someone to commision him to reassemble it. I doubt the pieces even exist anymore. Rip to my jop and amar chicken bub and my $840 cash. Creep took my number down and told me they would call me back dozens of times. They gave me amars personal number at one point. I have tried contacting amar through instagram as well but he wont respond to me.
They sell items your not allowed to ask or talk about I asked about a specific product and she asked me to leave.... dont show something if it breaks your terms Ill never shop there again over something so petty and I would definitely not encourage friends to go there.

2021-06-23I love this shop. I never feel intimidated or unwelcome. The staff are so cool and helpful, both for glass and music. Ive been to creep probably a dozen times and always had a good experience. They have a single-person gender-neutral bathroom, too.

2021-02-06Great record shop with outstanding staff, I always enjoy shopping here. Would definitely like for them to update their website because it’s outdated and what’s shows available on the site is not available in store, a pre-order and pick up function would be a great additional to the website as well. Overall definitely recommend checking them out.

2020-12-29I went in to buy a grinder and an employee personally recommended the “EZ grinder” for $45. I took it home to grind up some bud and it got metallic shavings and sparkles all over my weed, ruining it. I asked for a refund and they told me they could do absolutely nothing for me. Not even an apology. After researching the grinder online I found that it was only $20 from normal retailers. So it seems this headshop marks everything up nearly double. And pressures it’s customers into buying their more expensive products. It’s upsetting that their employee basically convinced to buy an overpriced grinder that poisoned my weed with cheap metallic particles. This is not a practical headshop for purchasing paraphernalia. It’s more like a tourist attraction for oblivious customers to buy overpriced pieces they could find for half the price online.
