I love Cut and Sew!! I have taken the intro to the machine class and the Beginning Sewing class and I went from having 0 skills or knowledge to being able to make this cool tote bag!!Im genuinely so happy this shop opened up in my neighborhood. I have always wanted to learn how to sew but never took the time to do so. Cut and Sew has everything you could need including machines, supplies and materials, and the instructors have all been amazing. Carolee taught my Beginners Class and she was so patient, funny, helpful and is very talented at what she does. I will definitely keep taking classes here and I ordered my own machine last night so I can start sewing at home as well. Thank you Cut and Sew!!

My 11yo child spent a week at Quilt Camp this summer and absolutely loved it. Melissa has a background teaching in the middle grades and it really shows. She built a great rapport with the students and let their creativity thrive. My child came home with a quilt that is gorgeous and 100% her own. In addition to quilting she learned all kinds of sewing techniques to help her grow her interest in sewing and creating. I highly recommend the class and I will be looking for other classes for my child in the future!

Very nice and clean. I’m only giving 3 stars because they don’t necessarily have what you would need in order to really sew a garment. If you want to make something quick or take a class they are great but I would maybe wait until they are more established with more equipment before you go there to really sew something. They don’t have a over lock machine nor do they have a variety of presser foots. Or at least not a zipper presser foot. I’m hoping once they are open for longer they will have more materials. What they have are the basics. Like rulers, scissors, pins, tape measure. Just simple supplies and obviously sewing machines. That’s about it.

Love this place 😀 My tween attended a week of quilt camp this summer and made an entire quilt in a week! I was amazed, not only that they could make such a large, beautiful piece of art in a week, but also that they transformed into such an enthusiastic sewist! Kiddo had no interest in sewing prior to camp, and is now really looking forward to more sewing classes at Cut + Sew.The owner, Melissa, is incredibly patient and kind and has a special gift for working with middle schoolers (shes a trained art teacher!) Plus the shop is bright & colorful with a nice selection of tools & fabrics located right in the heart of Mt Airy. Highly recommended!

If your kids (or you!) are interested in learning about sewing, I would highly recommend Cut & Sew PHL. Went with my 6-year old for a class today and was blown away by how patient, generous, and willing to listen to all of her ideas everyone in the shop was. She was so proud of the end product!

I am taking the Free Motion Quilting class with Deidre OBrien and cant be more pleased. Her knowledge and skills along with her patience make her an excellent teacher for these sessions. She has given me the confidence to go beyond my comfort zone with her gentle encouragement and numerous tips.
