Days Inn by Wyndham Philadelphia Convention Center in Philadelphia
The hotel is conveniently located. Do not expect any bells or whistles however. Room had no windows and a running toilet. The bathroom floor was wet due to the toilet. I nearly left at 3:00 AM due to the smell and the smoke (although it is supposed to be a non-smoking establishment). If you just want somewhere to sleep, then...... There are no refrigerators and the outlets by the lamps did not work. They should tell you that you need a room key in order to get back in the front door if you go out front. Overall, the smell was enough to never want me to return.
I got a room for one person with a single bed and the room is super tiny but i went for the cheapest room I could find close to the Franklin music hall (old electric factory). However its very clean so if all you need is a place to sleep and keep your things its perfect. I carried my bike in and they didnt have a problem with that at all either.
Would have been a 3 star review because it was average. However. I would have appreciated ANY notice of the massive amounts of construction that would be going on. There was so much noise at all hours. To the point that I debated canceling my stay early to go to literally any other hotel. If there had been any warning I would have saved myself the trouble of even staying here one night.Do yourself a favour and avoid this location until the construction is over.In addition the horrid man at the front desk on Sunday December 12th at 11am needs to be fired. He double charged me and refused to own up to his mistake and due to that mistake overdrew my bank account.
Positive: The best thing is that the hotel is near to every tourist destinations. Negative: The room was small, no windows, bathroom was tiny. It was like staying in a small storage space. They did not even have water in the room. The bathroom was so tiny that the sink was actually placed outside 3 steps away from the bed.
I would not recommend this place to no one. The hotel is currently under construction and they having roped off the construction area for safety. There was a draft in my room and when I checked the windows you could see where it wasnt properly sealed around the edges that and thats where the draft was coming from. I could hear all of the unfortunate people that was sleeping on the curb across the street as if they was in the room with me. When I called the front desk to inform them of this the guy said he would send with someone up and no one ever came. So no do not whatsoever stay at this Hotel.
Horrifying! The pictures online are obviously not true. The carpet had blood stains on them. Behind the headboard was disgusting. My 4 year old granddaughter wouldn’t even use the restroom in there. The staff we’re screwing a guest out of his security deposit when I went down to complain saying his room reeked of cigarette smoke. The entire building smelled like cigarettes and weed! The gave us a new “clean” room that was just as disgusting. There are homeless people all over the street. Just awful
The person who attended me on a Friday left me there for half an hour. The carpet in the room is dirty or stained, part of the carpet about to peel off. The page where I made the reservation (Priceline) announced that the room included breakfast or to my surprise at the counter they told me that there was no breakfast, but there were employees in the area where breakfast is served eating. They also promised a microwave oven that I never saw in the room. Unfortunately I was in the rooms that are almost in front of the counter and the two days that I was at 4 am in the morning there was always an argument between people or they began to make machine noises in the hall. To finish the picture outside in front of the hotel there is a battalion of homeless sleeping sprawled on the sidewalk, and 25 feet below there is a camp of huts of the homeless. This is not a place to stay with the family. I do not recommend to anybody.
Do NOT stay here! This place did not look ANYTHING like the pictures. That has to be a completely different hotel than the pictures. The pictures looks nice and updated and clean with modern paint on the wall. But this was the exact opposite of what we saw. It looked like the place hadn’t been updated since the early 2000’s and the carpet was disgusting. Would not recommend at all!!
Positive: The heat/Air Negative: The rooms too small,no outside window, elevator wasnt working and I was on the 4 floor, microwave in the basement,no refrigerator,Employees rapping about guns and stuff while cleaning in hallway andcould hear people arguing through vents from other rooms.
Not the best but not the worst I guess. The beds were comfy and the showers worked great but the carpets were a bit gross with random stains everywhere. Also there were no windows in the room where we were at so it made the room feel cramped. Overall, its an alright place to stay for a night but maybe not long term.
We mistakenly rushed to book with Days Inn after a terrible experience with VRBO. There are about 20 homeless people camped out across the street - which you WILL hear fighting, shouting, and god knows what else at all hours of the night. Our room had no hot water, so we enjoyed luke warm/cold showers all weekend. The carpet in our room was stained and disgusting. There seem to be mentally unstable people that stay at this hotel. We woke up to our bed shaking at 3am from someone throwing furniture or having a break down in the room next to us. There was also a man on our floor that was shouting and punching the walls by the elevator all weekend long. The grand finale was a fight between this man and hotel staff during the morning we checked out. As we got in the elevators to leave, 3 police officers were entering and headed towards this guys room. ****There is also a man who i believe is security who sits in the lobby every night in a bullet proof vest. So that should tell you how safe this place is. I would get -0 stars if i could.
Positive: This hotel was very scary. Buns across the street from the hotel. The carpets was disgusting stains everywhere. I only stayed one night and ask for a refund. Negative: I didn¿t like the surrounding area. Bums was everywhere outside the hotel. The carpets was disgusting stains everywhere. Really unsanitary.
Positive: The staff was friendly and great. Negative: The room did not match description. The rug was dirty and stain. The shower handle was more complicated than need to be to take shower. The place need to update majorly and improved for its location it really should be better than this.
Checked in Friday 11/12/21 Clean my main concern was the air conditioner working last time I was here in 103 the air barely worked. But the young man at the front desk said we been doing renovations..Soon as I seen the key card said 103 I said nope lol..But yes the air conditioner is lovely.I do not like the heat..
Positive: The None Negative: The location is disastrous, a lot of homeless in front of the hotel and a hectic neighborhood. The room was a small, the curtain was not completely closing at the center and the bathroom tap was barely functioning. The price was too high.NOT RECOMMENDED !
Positive: Nothing the walls look like someone had a punching fest and the just used putty on the walls to cover it up the walls had white putty every where. Negative: The service was poor when we arrived there were 2 Desk clerks outside smoking a cigarette and I paid $--- for a nonsmoking room the was small and it smelled like smoke I have breathing problems that why I asked for a nonsmoking room.
Disgusting. Not professional and lazy people, except the front desk ladies. Cigarette holes in the blanket, sheets stained, told the front desk and he just looked at me like I was crazy. And this was our second room, first one was even more nasty. Our flight leaves 7am the next morning, we are told to be down stairs at 545, no one was around until 6:03 and then he leaves to check why 6 rooms don’t have hot water, we don’t load up until 6:15. Talk about stressful, thankful I have been to this airport and we don’t have to check in bags, other wise I would be livid. Anyways don’t stay here nothing is right online, no tub, no breakfast, terrible experience.
Website says that you can check in until 3 a.m. arrived at 2:28 from NYC to a locked door with no one answering the phone for 20 minutes. After waiting in my car trying to get ahold of the front desk I finally got through after 25 mins and I was told he was taking a break. He then explained my reservation was canceled and I would have to call Expedia to get a refund. After calling Expedia they contacted Antonio the same man I spoke to on the phone who was extremely rude as well, he told Expedia that he was charging me with a no show fee even though I was waiting at the front door.Avoid this place at all costs they will do anything to avoid work and take whatever cancellation fee they can.0/10 horrible all around. AVOID THIS PLACE.
Positive: The location Negative: Dirty rooms; floors, walls, furniture, bathrooms. Shower was broken in first room. AC had an issue in second room. The window view in 2nd room was the hallway. Breakfast wasn¿t included although it said it was. Id like to compensated in someway
Positive: The location it was close to some events in the city and the reading terminal for food Negative: The alarm kept going off in the building almost every morning. I had to scan my card to enter the building no matter the hour. My room floor had stains and no windows in the room
Positive: Nothing. I got there and it was bed bugs.. i took a picture and the manager lied and said that i took a smoke detector off of the wall. I did not do that. Also is just wanted to just give me a refund. i was coming from baltimore to philadelphia. Negative: Nothing. I got there and it was bed bugs.. i took a picture and the manager lied and said that i took a smoke detector off of the wall. I did not do that. Also is just wanted to just give me a refund. i was coming from baltimore to philadelphia.
Front desk woman was extremely nice. I had to sign a paper and it was taking awhile so she just ran it up to my room when it was ready.Room is simple but good for the price. You do have to pay for parking but with the price of the room cheap it’s okay and it’s valet parking so I know my vehicle is safe. There is some decent free breakfast. I thought it was really yummy, but I like simple.Rooms were quiet. There were kids next to us and I didn’t even know until I walked out of the room and heard them from the hall.
Stayed here last night (well, barely)......as soon as I got within feet of the hotel, I felt very unsafe. they should really do something about the homeless people right outside the door. The entire place smelled like weed, and was filthy. The room looked NOTHING like the pictures. We actually had to go out and get cleaning supplies to scrub our room and also purchased blankets & pillows because the bed sheets were definitely not clean. Ill be calling corporate today to report them. Because when we mentioned all this to the front desk, the response was aww sorry you werent happy with your room totally unacceptable. this place needs to be shut down
Positive: It was close to anything we needed. Negative: It was dirty, there was dried substances on the bedding along with stains and burns in the flooring. I killed what I am certain was a bed bug so that made more work for when I came home. It was right next to a homeless shelter so my 5yr old was scared.
If you are looking at this property you are likely looking for a decent budget option and if that is what you are looking for read on.The location is pretty ok, but you will run into many homeless along the way. There is nothing the property can do about that, but if you dont feel comfortable in this environment, this might be a let down.Other than that, it is right near the Convention Center and in easy walking distance of JFK Plaza (Love Park) and historic Philadelphia. The room had a reasonable size and was well maintained, I didnt find anything to complain about here.Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. At one point I wanted to use the snack vending machine and my dollar wasnt accepted. A member of staff, who had given me directions just before, came down to help out. That was amazing service!Breakfast is nothing to call home about. Low quality, which left me wholly unimpressed, but if you are not a fuzzy eater, I am sure you will find something to get you started to your day.Overall, the star rating I gave takes into consideration the type of hotel this represents and the money I paid, it was quite ok.Next time I would chose a different location within the city.
Other reviews make it sound like this is a horrible place to stay. But we didnt really have any problems here. Yes. There is a homeless shelter next door. But my wife and I werent bothered by any of them. They just minded their own business. Breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast. On the second day, we did notice that the bathtub was draining slowly when you would take a shower, but we let the front desk people know and by the time we returned in the evening the issue was resolved.
Honestly, this is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. I wish I could say it got better the three nights I was here but it continued to get worse. The staff is extremely rude towards tourists and they would rather sit with their hands up their butts instead of doing their jobs and clean the rooms/do anything productive. The beds are about as comfortable as a slab of granite and the shower is a joke there was hair in and around the tub that was not mine and the shower was equivalent to trying to bath in a slight mist. I would never recommend this hotel to my worst enemy its beyond atrocious. The only positive that was here would be the pillows were pretty nice.
Im only giving one star because the workers were nice and tried to accommodate our needs as best as they could even though they were understaffed. Rooms were tiny. One microwave for the entire hotel and it was located in the basement. Breakfast was served in the same dimly lit and sketchy basement. Showers and sinks had really bad mildew. Every on the bottom of the sink where the house keeper placed our towels had so much rust. Carpet was stained and gross. We had one half mirror in our room located in the bathroom. Trouble lighting throughout the entire building. House keeper did not clean rooms until requested; house keeper cleaned our room on the night of our last stay at 10pm. There was one window to the hallway with curtains that barely closed enough to conceal our privacy. Not too mention the curtains were dated. Room had the absolute most terrible lighting. There was a plethora of homeless people (majority of them were intoxicated) lining the only entrance to the hotel begging for food and money or just harassing me and my family. Lastly, the charge for Friday night (through Expedia) was over $130, and the charge for Saturday night was over $230; my grandmother was told the booking was non-refundable. I wouldnt recommend my arched nemesis to stay at the hotel. Ill be contacting Expedia about our refund.
Clean, small and does the job for short stays. This is definitely not a luxurious place. There are a lot of homeless ppl around but they do not bother or ask for money. The rooms are clean not renovated no windows because its a short small building. The breakfast is in the basement. Not luxurious either. Eggo waffles, bacon, bagels, cereal and pastries. Toaster, juice, coffee and tea. Clean and seats with bathrooms in the area. I would recommend they add another mirror and better lighting in the room. I would also recommend adding scrambled eggs to breakfast.
It was quiet, but didnt meet up to my expectations. The room was small. Sink was outside the bathroom. No fan in the bathroom. Loved it was close to the convention center. For next year, I would book a double room vs. a single occupancy. The front desk seemed challenged by the number of guests that were checking in. It was a slow process.
I booked a room at this hotel despite the bad reviews I saw online. Didnt have many places to choose from since I waited way too long to book. Went there expecting the worse and was pleasantly surprised! Location was great! My family and I didnt bother to take public transportation or call a cab as everywhere we wanted to go was walking distance from the hotel. The staff was very pleasant and didnt get upset when I deactivated my room key card not once, twice but three times and had to have it re-activated. They are obviously extremely sensitive when placed anywhere near a cell phone (even when in the paper sleeve). The beds were very comfortable and clean. This was a relief after talking to a guest who left another local hotel due to bed bugs! Yuk! I made a mental note not to stay at that particular hotel any time soon! The cost was a bit higher then I expected yet that was my fault for waiting until 3 days before our trip to book a room. Would I stay there again? Probably. Customer Service is very important to me and the staff at Days Inn were top notch!
Clean and modern style room but small. The room was not sound proof. I could hear water running in the pipes, people talking outside the room, walking upstairs and car honing on the street. The best part was their friendly employees. With such room, I felt the fee they charged was too high compared to other hotels nearby.
It was alright for the price and location was good as far as places to shop and things to do and accessibility to philly but it was unclean it o say the least . The staff were quite nice however and I hen i mentioned the condition of the room and that I saw a mouse (!) they switched my room and went in and cleaned it .
Mixed feelings here. I get that its a low end hotel, but the breakfast was terrible, there were cockroaches, and security seemed lax. I honestly think the staff tries as hard as they can with what they have, so Id blame upper management because every single on the ground employee was absolutely wonderful. This hotel could be much better if they utilized high ceilings for storage and put more money into improving the breakfast area, sanitation, and decorum. The staff is the only reason this review isnt a 2/5
For a hotel that I had to find 2 days before being there I was surprised. The room and bathroom were dated, but seemed clean. It was in a good location for the convention center and center city Philadelphia. The morning breakfast, besides being available, was adequate for this venue. Two biggest problems I had was first the front door wasnt sealed shut, meaning that the hallway light came through the edges of the door. The second issue was the air conditioner worked great the first night, but for some reason the second night it didnt work. I didnt say anything about it so it was partially my fault, but it still didnt work and that sucked.
This place is an absolute DUMP! For $150 a night a expected better. Rooms were small. EVERYTHING is stained and dirty and old. EVERYTHING. Every floor surface has horrible stains and smells. Sheets had stains, towels had stains.I can’t believe how terrible this place was. TV was tiny. Furniture old and dated and damaged and run down. By the gods I hope I never stay in this rat nest again. Free breakfast was of course disappointing and terrible. DO NOT STAY HERE!
My daughter and I took a mini vacation to Philly for the first time. The hotel staff was extremely helpfulwith directions, places to shop and eat. The breakfast was more than needed and free. At the front deskthey had a USA newspaper for your reading enjoyment and hot coffee served until noon. The housekeeping department was excellent also. Clean room and upon arrival we found a bottle of water andsmall bag of cookies. What a nice touch. The room was not large, but we mostly came back in the eveningto sleep and relax. My compliments to this inn and my final comment.... they even stored our luggage foran extra 4 hours after checkout. Give this place a chance. I really liked it.
This hotel is best if you only need a place to sleep. The rooms are essentially boxes and our only window was into the hallway. The bathroom was small, but efficient. The toilet and shower are in their own separate room with the sink on the outside. The location was fantastic. Its about a mile walk from the art museum and its right beside the convention center. City hall is also a relatively short walk. The continental breakfast was good; there were breads, muffins, yogurt, hot oatmeal, coffee, and egg omelets (plain). Twice I had to replace my card key because it stopped working but the front desk folks were very nice and quickly replaced them. This is an efficient hotel room for those who do not plan on spending much time in the hotel itself.
Stayed for 2 nights recently. I arrived at 3pm(which is check in time), but the room wasnt ready and I had to sit in the lobby for 45 minutes. The room had no windows. The location is next to a homeless shelter. The bums try to get money from you. Never ever making the mistake of staying at a days inn again.
Conveniently located, but thats pretty much all it has going for it. No parking (despite that being advertised), tiny rooms and the real kicker... finding a cockroach crawling across our sink on our last night there. Our room had a weird window looking out into the hallway that was located right next to our bathroom, so that was really awkward - we ended up clipping the curtain down so that it didnt accidentally open. There are no fridges or microwaves in the rooms, either, though apparently there is a microwave for use on the basement level. It is just steps away from the convention center, which was the one good thing about it. Definitely will not be staying here again.
Its not the prettiest looking hotel, and during my stay I had the lovely view of the hallway (no exaggeration), but the price is cheap especially for such a great spot in the city. The service and the free breakfast is also really good!So if you are looking for a luxurious hotel, this is not the place for you. But if you want a cheap place in the center of the city, then this is definitely a good place to look into.
It was perfect for my needs. The price was great and the staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are the perfect size for my personal stay but could have easily and comfortably fit a couple, with a smidgen to spare. I thought the location was perfectly away from everything yet right in the middle. Great for Philadelphia.
Disappointing. This hotel was very disappointing and not somewhere that I would ever come back to. Heres why:- A/C did not work. Put it on as low as it could go, 55 degrees, and the room temperature was still at 80- Hot breakfast thats advertised consisted of frozen toaster waffles and was in the basement of the building. Not at all what you expect from a hotel advertising complimentary breakfast.- Beds are hard like bricks- The shower drain was clogged and drained so slow as if it had years of hair stuck in it.- no microwave or fridge in room.- We had 5 room reservations for this hotel and when we arrived, 2 of them were given away & the staff had no explanation on the reasoning for this happening, resulting in taking over half an hour to check in.All in all, very unfavorable. I would not suggest for anyone to stay here. Only benefit is the location.
Neighborhood looks a little scary. Maybe OK but doesnt appear that great. Inside the building the carpets need to be replaced or at least cleaned. Service has been horrible. Keys stop working every day and one desk clerk argues that its my fault. Im booked here for 2 weeks. Unfortunately They pre-charged my credit card for the full two weeks so I cant just leave and find a better hotel. Breakfast is never started on time. I was told 6:00 AM others were told 6:30 AM but we are lucky if its ready by 7:00 unfortunately Im leaving for work by then. My recommendation is find a better place. This Days Inn is not worth the average $150 (with tax & fees) Im paying
Its close to everything and a place to sleep...but my room has a weird smell and the free breakfast wasnt that great, I think the milk was bad. Carpet stained, shower had someone elses hair in it when I got there...But like I said its in proximity to the city center and a good price, so it worked at the end of the day. If I come to Philly again though, I will skip this hotel.
Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff made a successful effort to get me a room prior to check in time. At first I was given a room without a desk but when I requested one, they reassigned me right away. I needed a bandaid in a pinch and they quickly provided me with one. Public transportation, restaurants, convention center, stores, etc were all within reasonable walking distance. There is a homeless shelter next door to the hotel with many homeless men outside often but they left me alone nicely.
The front desk clerk was incredible! She was extremely nice and knowledgeable. That was the only positive aspect of my stay. This motel is abysmal. The rooms feel dirty and outdated, there were stains all over the walls and carpet. I found a foreign hair on the clean towels and bed sheets. I could not wait to check out in the morning. Stay away at all costs.
I reserved a room here because I actually liked the rooms here. It was my 2nd booking within a month. I had a lot of luggage so the desk attendant helped me with my bags to the elevator. He came to me after we loaded the bags on the elevator and told me that there were no more bags left and that I could proceed to my room. I got to my room and went to sleep from being super exhausted. Upon leaving I noticed that 1 of my biggest bags was not there. I had 2 bags that actually looked identical so it wasnt hard to notice that it was gone after I was fully refreshed from sleeping. I went down to the desk and asked the new desk attendant if there was anything found referring to my big missing bag. She said no so I asked if there was anyone I could talk to about my missing bag. She gave me a business card and told me to call the number on the card. I then left upset and called the number from the business card. I spome with an attendant and he told me that he disnt find anything. He said he was the manager. I asked if he could review the cameras because my bag and items were worth about $2,000 dollars. He told me that he would check the cameras and call me back. He called me back and told me that he didnt see anything again so my husband got on the phone and told him that we were going to take action. He said he would check again and call us back. He called back about an hour later and said that he found the bag near the trash can dumpster. I explained if he found the bag on the cameras then he should know who moved the bag to the dumpster. We went to the hotel to get our bag and it was nearly nothing left in the bag. The bag had 15% of my items left in it when he handed it to us from his storage room. We were upset and asked who toom our stuff and he kept saying he had no knowledge but to me that didnt sit well because he has cameras in his hotel. His employees told me that all my bags were on the elevator the night I checked in as if he plotted on taking my missing bag in the first place so I feel as though they are liable for whatever happened to my stuff. He got irate in the lobby when we asked about our stuff and told him that we wanted to be compensated and he then threatened to call the police on us. Im still upset and I still want my stuff back and I will be taking legal actions.
Less than basic room. No fridge or microwave. No place or hooks to hang up clothes. Place seemed seedy. Other guests were a little noisy. No area to stop to unload bags but on a busy street. No free parking except if you are lucky enough to find a spot along the curbs. Otherwise, $26.00 a day parking garage. Never again!
Good hotel with very reasonable prices and very close proximity to the Convention Center. Our room has 2 twin beds, and its somewhat small and crowded. There is no closet, just an open rack and no dresser nor drawers to unpack into, which means that you have to live out of your luggage. The bathroom has a toilet with a bath, and the sink is actually in the room. Not very convenient. The huge plus is a nice breakfast, which includes eggs, bacon or sausage, cream cheese, bagels, cereal, juice, coffee and more. All in all, the location of the hotel, price and breakfast, would bring me back to this hotel whenever I would need to attend another convention in Philly.
Conveniently located clean hotel. Still overall a decent stay considering we got a very good rate during a holiday weekend on a last minute reservation for the last room available. Room 104, has no windows facing outside. The one window faces the hallway right by the elevator, even so not that much noise could be heard. Small room, but adequate for our stay. There is free street parking overnight. Also, outdoor parking is available at the municipal lot 2 short blocks (1 block distance) away and indoor parking is located at the muni lot 2 blocks away.
I rarely write reviews but people should know about our horrible stay here. My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights at this Days Inn hotel and it was by far the worst experience weve ever encountered. Both nights from midnight to 5am people were outside of our room talking and shouting (as if it was a bar with loud music)-- it was impossible to get any rest. I cant say whether they were other guests or the employees but it was just ridiculous. The bathrooms and the sheets appeared to be not cleaned or washed. Do NOT waste your money here.
I booked the room (Queen, non-smoking) for 3 nights, approx $195/night plus tax and service fees. The room was clean with no stains and odors. The toilet barely flushed and the water went completely down only once while I was there. The shower was consistently hot, which was better than than what I heard from colleagues staying at higher rated hotels. The website does not tell you that they provide a discount off parking at the lot on 11th st (need to pay each day separately to get the discount). Unfortunately, I had already parked when I arrived at the closer lot on 12th that had a sign saying Self Parking for Days Inn - the hotel reception staff indicated they could not provide a discount for this lot. I recommend calling ahead to ask about parking. The breakfast area in the basement is clean and well-lit. Breakfast had the usual variety (toast, fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc). The hot food consisted of processed sausage patties and scrambled eggs. There were waffles (pre-made from the package) one time. The hotel is close to Reading Terminal Market, a mall with popular chain stores, nice restaurants on Arch St and a 15 - 20 minute walk to Independence Hall. The hotel is also a couple of doors away from a homeless shelter for men, which means that some of them hang about outside at night. A police car usually sat outside in the evenings.Overall, a decent hotel considering the pros and cons of the Central Philly area. The cost seems overpriced compared to what one would get in NJ or a little outside of the city, but its in line with what other hotels in the area offer for a city experience.
The worst experience I have yet to have at any establishment. Not only did they give us the wrong room. They then gave us 1 queen bed per 5 people. Then promised at least a roll away cot. Find out oops, out of roll away cots. So now we have 1 queen size bed for 5 people for the stellar price of $270 for one night. Amazing. Hopefully room service at least vacuumed the floor we will be sleeping on.
The staff go above and Beyond for there guest. The manager Eon is amazing and caring.. the cleaning staff omg amazing especially Ms.Halloway I want everyone to know that women has a heart of gold and I pray god blesses that women in everyway.. She will always hold a special place in my heart .. thank you for your outstanding service and your kindness..
A good bedroom, simple, but it fits if you need a couple nights. The window faces the corridor, so you cant let it open, otherwise people who walk through the hotel will see inside your bedroom. Good shower as well, good price, but the breakfast was not thaaaat good, it was OK. Recommended. Close to restaurants, pharmacy and sightseeing.
The hotel has many Pros and Cons:1. Location:Pro - The hotel is very close to the Convention Center.Con - The area is not safe, with numerous homeless people sleeping in the streets. To walk to the Convention Center, you need to go through the piss tunnel...2. Breakfast:Pro - The breakfast is good, with lots to select from.Con - The ladies who are there sure have a lot to say to the guests, especially if they think theyve done something wrong (in their eyes).3. Cleanliness:Pro - The room was reasonably clean.Con - It was a hit or miss if the soap/shampoo/conditioner/tea/coffee would be replenished or not. Some days they were, but most days they were not. Dont they have a standard regarding this? And, on the last day (Saturday), we left in the morning and came back around 3-4pm. The room remained UNTOUCHED. We decided not to call it in, since we were tired and wanted to nap. About 30 minutes after we fell asleep, there was very loud knocking on the door, with someone calling housekeeping. We told her that we didnt need anything, since we did not want to be disturbed. And, BTW, we did NOT have a do not disturb sign in our room, so we couldnt hang it outside...4. Air Condition:Pro - There is air conditioning in the room.HUGE CON - Although we turned the required temperature to the lowest setting, the room would not cool below 76-78 degrees. Too hot!!!!5. Internet:Pro (only) - good Wi-Fi throughout the hotel!6. Price:Pro - reasonable in this area.Con - We were charged a little over $15 more than our reservation quote. We need to take this up with Expedia, since we made the reservations through them. When we asked at the front desk, the guy just printed out our bill and told me to check it myself...
I’ve been in my room for 10 minutes and I’ve never felt more disgusted. I found a toothbrush in my chair. Everything looks dirty. The bathroom is falling apart. The toilet sounds like it’s leaking and makes a loud flushing noise every 5 minutes. It’s the most depressing room I’ve ever stayed in. Even drug addicts wouldn’t stay here. My room looks COMPLETELY different from any picture online.
Its ok due to covid-19 they dont do the free breakfast it was a good stay quiet for the most part u just gotta avoid certain homeless people out there the QQ STORE next door over priced for everything so 7eleven ur best bet found like one roach but its Philly theres roaches everywhere lol
Horrible accommodations. The room was tiny. The only window faced into the hallway. The bathroom was tiny and had only a toilet and bathtub, the sink was in the main area at the foot of the bed. For real?!? Yeah. The free breakfast was a joke and the custodians came in and ate most of what was left a half hour before the breakfast was supposed to end, then started cleaning it up and getting rid of what remained while guests still had twenty minutes left to come down and eat. The only positive is that the desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I go to Philadelphia every year for Wizard World and I will never stay here again.
Now, walking up to the hotel I was worried... It looks like one of those homes that arent upgraded from the outside but on the inside very beautiful! I stayed here last night and the service was outstanding. Room nicely decorated, very comfy and cozy.... Bathroom clean. Everything was great. Front desk even helped me carry my baby carseat to the room. Bought me a full bucket of ice to the room at 4:30 in the morning! The TVS are clear with a great variety of channels. Great price too! Booked through Expedia for $105.00!!! It was worth it. The only thing that irritated me was how loud it gets at check out time in the morning starting as early as 6am. My room was right by the front door so .. yeah. I guess to avoid that, dont get a 1st floor room. And also hearing water pipes. Other than that. Im very satisfied. Slept great.
This was on the side of my bed, hidden under the mattress cover. Looks like mold to me? There was also a faint red stain on my boyfriends side of the bed. Of course we didnt notice it til the day before check out. 🤦 But neither one of us threw up or anything. A lot of beggars outside - and I am usually very supportive / unbothered by those who need help but it was the same guys EVERY. TIME. We walked out the door.
If youre looking for four walls, a roof, and a bed, than this doesnt disappoint. If your expecting little things like windows, or clean sheets, or a stain free carpet, youll be disappointed. The staff was friendly, but this just is the barest of bones establishment. Those concerned about germs, might get the shivers. But ultimately, its a cheap hotel. It performs as advertised.
Speedy check in with friendly clerk. The Days Inn signage is bright and new, but thats about the only thing in that condition here. Dingy walls and flooring make an otherwise well kept hotel look old and run down. Breakfast is sufficient, but low quality. Spend a few extra bucks to stay at one of the many nearby properties if you have high standards, otherwise this Days Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two.
I was initially concerned about the facility due to the low cost for the room. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel was clean, the staff were sincerely friendly and did an excellent job. The continental breakfast was more than we expected. It was convenient to the convention center and just a short walk to the St. Patricks Day parade. I could not have been more satisfied with the value we received for our money. Phila was a lot of fun. We will definately go back
It could at least have a mini fridge. There was an ant in the bathroom, hair in the shower and most disgusting of all, two q-tips someone with filthy ears had stuck in the knot of electric cords behind one of the night stands. Next time I visit Philly Ill pay for nicer accommodations. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the staff were very friendly.
The good: staff are kind and helpful, and our room was clean. The bad: everything else. The street is depressing, possibly dangerous, and smells horrible. The oatmeal they served for breakfast was one of the foulest things Ive ever tasted. It had a sharp, sour flavor, and Im sure eating it would have made me ill.
The price is the only good thing of this motel. The room was small and without windows. The only window that was there was on the hallway. If I’m gonna come back in Philadelphia, no way that I’m gonna come back in this motel. The breakfast was bad, old pancakes and old food. It was hard to breath too in the breakfast room. Worst hotel ever.
Very good place to stay for standard room, staff friendly and helpful, continental breakfast good with very good choices of food and drinks. They had oatmeal, cerals, OJ and apple juice, coffee, tea, assorted breads and bagels, muffins, yogurt, fruits with pancakes, sausage and french toast etc. They have a very good car parking deal with garage up the street and well worth the walk a block and a half away. The only negative is that there are homeless people that congregate nearby for food and shelter but they dont bother anyone that walks by. Try coffee in lobby area, it tastes a lot better than coffee served in breakfast area. Would stay there again if I go back to visit Philly.
Horrible. no parking as promised on the phone when reserving the room. no refrigerator available for the room. room 306 is located inside the hotel with no windows and smells like a hospital. also the room was 77 degrees with air conditioning running full blast when I arrived. 400 dollars a night? put down the pipe.
So. I read through some of these reviews and... A lot is really unfair/unwarranted. Such as- about the homeless sleeping across the street and being in a bad neighborhood. 1. There are homeless outside the Ritz. 2. This bad neighborhood is around the corner from city hall and behind the convention center. It may look bad, but in my opinion its because you cant see any of the frills from here. The SAME people are outside the glorious structures. If you want basic, VERY INEXPENSIVE rates in an excellent central location, here you go. So there isnt a pool. So there isnt a mini fridge. Make do and spend the money you saved on things to do!! The way I see it is, if you chose to stay here after seeing the rates and reviews AND still didnt like it... then your taste is way too expensive for your wallet and maybe lighten up. Its the city.We walked EVERYWHERE from this hotel. Sad to go home. Will be back and will stay here, staff is friendly and accommodating. Thanks for everything Days Inn Convention Center Philly!
I slept there last night and was concerned I made a mistake choosing it, based off some of the reviews. Ive been eager to write a review I was satisfied with my stay and would recommend it if the price is right and your just looking for a nice stay with the essentials. I was only looking for a small room for 1 person. And everything was clean with no visible bugs or noises. Think there was 5 floors of rooms.Good:-fairly large bed-if you turn all the lights on, including the ones by the bed Its bright enough-nice sized tv-sink and bathroom is small but you can do what you have to do (I didnt try the shower)-has Wi-Fi-saw there was an iron, computer desk, coffe maker, and safeBad:-the bed and cushioned chair was a bit hard. But I didnt think it was intolerable.-(i also are at 8:30, even though the person at the desk suggested going early 6:30 with the food hot) the time I went there wasnt many options of food cold waffles, cereals, coffee, orange juice, and apple juice think was there.Unless there are more options for breakfast earlier, I suggest saving money and selecting no breakfast. Youre in Philly go somewhere to eat, unless you limited on time for work or something.-the price for me was 170 bc of a sale. Its a hefty price for this hotel but in this area all the hotels are pricy. Would I pay lets say 270? I would not.-when I booked in earlier in the day, I could faintly hear people so the walls arent thick. But when I got back at midnight and went to bed there was no noise. So its really hot or miss. The air conditioning is on and that can be white noise, or I guess bring ear plugs in case you get bad luck. But thats the case anywhere you go! So prepare yourself how you feel you need to.Conclusion I gave it 3 stars bc thats a fair assesment. If you need a hotel in that area and the price is right, booking here is fine dont worry.
The hotel is a dump! Homeless sell crack out front and they live two doors down ! You may get robbed walking through the tunnel under the convetain center! Looking on booking for better hotel also there no windows in the room it like a prison the housekeeping open your door when they feel like it.it nasty part of town
Cheapest normal hotel around. Quality of a normal $79.99 hotel anywhere outside a city. Rooms are dated and kinda dirty. Outside noise is loud and not the nicest clientele milling about outside. Youll have to park in a public lot. People inside were nice enough. Know that youre staying in a 2 star hotel.
This hotel was not fantastic. It was very cramped and dark for the price. The parking situation was difficult to figure out. Staff was friendly enough, called someone to help me fix the flat tire on my car (never said who and they never showed up). I signed a waver saying I promised not to be loud but that apparently didnt mean anything as people were running around and screaming outside my room at all hours of the night. The one benefit is that is was central to anything. The places I wanted to go were less than a mile away and I didnt have to drive anywhere.
Sketchy place. We were given a room that has no fridge. Had to request one. Homeless people were right outside the door. Location is right behind the convention center and literally a block away from reading terminal which is the only plus. Breakfast is included in your stay. Staff can be pleasant if they want to.
First off, do not expect to be able to park your car without expense. the add stated parking is $20, but it really is $30.This hotel does not provide parking. Second off, even though we paid online, they did not have a room reserved for us. We had to wait until they proceesed the room.Im not excited about staying in this room.
I give them a 0 rating! This is the worst place to stay! DO NOT EVER COME HERE! Im disappointed in the staff and how rude they are to their customers! The building is filthy! There are homeless people sitting out front of the door! Luckily we found a better hotel to accommodate us! This place is terrible!!!
Its a really expensive room with no windows. Heat was set at 62 and woke up to 80 degree room in November. Small, but plenty of electrical outlets. Parking was a municipal lot 2 blocks away with no security. Across the street from back of convention center but you have to walk 3 blocks to actually get to an entrance. Next to a homeless shelter. Lots of people sleeping on the street nearby.
I do not recommend this hotel if youre traveling to Philadelphia for leisure/entertainment. Its a pretty low-end hotel if you just need a place to crash. The location is pretty poor with a homeless shelter two doors down. Anything worth visiting is on the other side of the Convention Center - just a block away. But you have to travel under the Convention Center tunnels to get to the hotel - at night its full of homeless people. Stay a block or two to the south and its much better.
I stayed in this hotel for one night. This hotel is on a tiny, one way street. There is no parking of any kind offered, so you must fend for yourself at one of the nearby lots, which typically charge about $15 per day. Keep in mind that this day ends at 6:30am. If you keep your car there past 6:30, you will be forced to pay for another full day.I checked in slightly early, and they informed me that the only rooms they had were on the first floor. This was strange to me, but I didnt have time to argue. I asked if it would be noisy, and I was assured that no, there would be no noise issues. I had my doubts, considering my room was next to the entrance, next to the front desk, and next to the outside street. My suspicions were confirmed that night. The noise was incredible, easily the loudest, most frustrating hotel room I have ever stayed in. People came in and out all night, cell phones rang, cars and trucks ran back and forth on the street outside. The drapes in the room barely closed at all, meaning I had to manufacture a makeshift way to keep the light out.My favorite part was when I was awakened at 3am by the front desk guy chatting with someone else, a friend I assume. They were not talking overly-loud, but the rooms sound insulation was so poor that I could clearly hear every word they were saying. When I called and asked them to keep the noise down, they merely laughed, and I could hear one of them tell the other one to tell him to just not sleep. The next morning, this same front desk guy had the wonderful question of, Howd you sleep?I made the mistake of trying to be close to where I needed to be that next day by getting a hotel room in the city for cheap. Dont make this mistake. Stay out in the suburbs in a real hotel, with real parking, and private rooms.
They have no parking at all you have to pay for parking down the street and some open hourly place for 12 hours it cost you another 30 bucks its not even secured I dont know if this is the tenderloinAnd the pricing of the room was absorbent I felt like they saw I was exhausted and I needed to just stop get off the road and they took advantage of me for a room that should have been 60 to 80 bucks and they wanted $1 52 plus parking of 30 plus I deposit a 50 Ive never heard of hotel taking a deposit they have your credit card
Many of the rooms do not have WINDOWS !!! Hotel is a very short distance from a HOMELESS MENS SHELTER !!! If your comfortable in a prison cell, then this is the place for you.Stay here only if you wish to experience vacationing in a SLUM. If you book a room here, make sure you get a room with windows. If Jordan Peele made a movie about this hotel the title would be Dont Book ! 😧.
Im giving it a 2 rating because its a convenient location & the staff was nice & rooms were only ok, only complaint in the room was bathtub drain was broke & would not hold water & the shower lever was stuck to shower only.I was given a room on the street side across from the convention center, however there was no mention of construction going on there & woke up at 7am to Jack hammers from there on.Free Breakfast.....well its in the basement where maintenance & housekeeping keep walking thru with carts etc...NO HOT BREAKFAST! I was told you need to be there between 630-645am in order to get it otherwise they do not re stock it.PARKING....as stated in other reviews, there is no parking here. There is a parking garage 2 blocks away or several small lots in between, but your vehicle needs to be moved by 5am.Families be aware that there is a lot of homeless people all around convention center if your walking, most do not bother you.
Room old and tired looking and not very clean. Parking not included which makes things a little inconvenient. But found a parking place in close walking distance that offered 24 hour in and out parking. It is also in walking distance to the liberty bell center (20 minutes).
Room: large, but no windows (except one into the hallway, which was weird).Service: terrible. One day the toilet clogged and it took them all day + 3 phone calls to get someone to unclog it. Another day someone came in and picked up (but didnt replace) the wash clothes and hand towels, but never made the bed. There was a free breakfast, but it was rather sparse as far as free breakfasts go (no meat at all).
This place was dirty, nothing worked (outlets, hair dryer, etc.), the room was absolutely tiny, and they charged me $150 early check out fee the day after I checked out even though when I was checking out, they say everything was paid for AND we agreed to pay for an extra night even though we checked out early!! Now I have to fight through many incompetent staff to get my money back. Ridiculous.
Cozy quiet. Many of the rooms do not have windows due to the structure the buildings in bigger citys. Small rooms but enough room to move around. Pricey but its wonderfully located across from the convention center. The continental breakfest is pretty good changes everyday. Although they claim its starts at 630 ita uaally jot ready until 645 7, which is not really a problem. But at some point someone decieded 630 was when it was to be open.
The Manager lied on me saying “the room was a mess after I threw my daughter birthday party there and then a worker came to the room with me and seen the same thing he had seen and said “it was glitter on the table not ashes”so they plotted and took my deposit very shady people in there.
Aside from the aging building, staying here was well worth the cost(groupon). they have windows that actually open and the location is conveniently located adjacesnt the convention center in the heart of china town, in fairly close proximity to most of the touristy things to do in Philly. the only real issues we had were the lack of parking(none) and the abundance of homeless people loitering around waiting for the shelter next door to open.
Its a Two Star Property...Nothing Great...Breakfast is just ok...no live or hot food. Rooms are getting worn out...paint patches. Small Bathrooms. Only advantage is its next to Pennsylvania Exhibition Center but there are many other good options at that price. Not value for money at all.
This place is one step up from a Motel 6. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on the website. If I wasn’t in town on business and all hotels weren’t booked. I would be out of here this morning after the first night! I don’t even want the breakfast. I’ll eat at my conference . Straight garbage!
I I read through the comments at might I say most of them I agree with unwarranted and annoying this hotel is a beautiful hotel to be conveniently located next to a convenience store and across the street from the convention center and to have the prices that they do is absolutely marvelous I came from Cleveland Ohio to this days inn to do some Court work and might I say I was able to get all of my court work done right in my room without any noise at all this is a very quiet Hotel very convenient around everything that is needed and might I say I am a disabled individual and their amenities were absolutely superb Beyond ad a recommendation I was very much appreciative of the staff and Security in this building I was totally blown away and just overwhelmed with the respect and the professionalism of this hotel to the owner you have really outdid yourself with this hotel I would love to come to work for you but unfortunately I live in Cleveland Ohio to be a part of a hotel that is a Wyndham and to have the standards of the Ritz its just absolutely fabulous keep up the great work keep up your wonderful standards and I must say you have invested in the best
My room wasnt services!! Even though the Housekeepers was very Nice. I called for service almost every night when I returned to my room.No parking! Parking on its app should say No Free parking. But when you check in ask about Hotel Parking the answer is No have to pay a lot every day and its over $30 a night Parking attendance dont give visitors time to come out to pay for more parking Time dont care about out of State Plates! PPA already tickets Cars/Tow to PPA lot to get car back its $176. Tow fees Plus a Ticket fee $76 depends on where you parked😠 Center City is all about 💸Money Making especially PPA is getting ppls $$ from Parking! No free parking on Saturday/Sunday Wow! Better off catching Uber/Cab🚕 nd. Staying at the Airport.. I BE STAYIN NEXT YR.👍

2022-01-28Very good location, nearby plenty of restaurants and places to visit. No windows in the room because the building is a part of a block of buildings. Door keys arent the greatest sometimes, but other than that the stay is wonderful! Staff is super friendly, prices are reasonable. Room is small, but comfortable. No refrigerator, but they offer free ice from a machine and buckets to keep it in for drinks. For what you pay, its honestly not bad. Would definitely stay here again.

2022-06-01Best price I can find for being in center city. Location is close to everything in center city, but the location is on kinda sketchy spot where a lot homeless hangout. The breakfast is free, but its not all that great. The room was clean and neat, but on the small side. I still had a good stay.

2022-04-11Positive: Closeness to the convention center is the only positive. Beat up, outdated rooms from the late 70s maybe. Worst hotel experience in decades. Surrounded night and day by homeless people. AVOID! Thank god I only had to suffer through staying here one night. Negative: TINY room not 10 feet from the noisy elevator. Couldnt sleep from the noise. No closet in the room - just a weird clothes rack/shelf on the wall. The basement breakfast was a joke - two kinds of cereal, warm milk, and some bagels and toast. THE WORST!

2022-03-03Positive: The price was reasonable and its basic location to downtown area was feasible. Negative: The room wasnt furnished with a microwave and there was only one ice machine/microwave located in the basement for use. The bathroom/room wasnt fully cleaned. There were articles of clothing left behind under the chair from the previous guest.

2022-03-18Terrible place we pied $280 a night it was draft week just to find out our room is without windows. Shower was not working when we called the plumber he said it is working normally and ignoring us we had our toddler with us. There were Crumbs all over the carpet they did not even bother vacuuming. Location was good.

2022-02-01Rooms are small, not the best street for lodging, Google pic is very much misleading.TV entertainment much better than Atlantic City overnight stays, so many more channels including Showtime. Convenient to downtown, including reading terminal, Greyhound bus terminal, hardrock cafe, Wawa and even a beer brewery. Everyone I came across at the hotel and all abouts were more than cordial. Peaceful room to lay my head in prep for my uncles celebration of life, peaceful room to come back to after the fact.

2022-06-19Terrible service. Booked 3 day stay on days inn website, upon getting to hotel they tell me there’s $50 deposit, I request to remove 1 day. Front desk says that’s fine. Then come to find out they booked me for only one day at the price of 2 days, and the deposit was only $29 somehow which means the remainder was part of the room price. Still yet to see the deposit either. Days inn Customer care and reservations was rude, insulting and less helpful then the actual hotel. Worst hotel in the city, go literally any where else.

2022-05-31Positive: It was fairly centrally located Negative: 1. It was right next door to the homeless shelter. 2. I developed some sort of rash on my ankles from the bedding. 3. There was some gross reddish stain on the wall inside our room. 4. Lots of noise from adjacent rooms/ thin walls and ceiling.

2022-05-11Positive: NOT 1 THING! I walked in and like to passed out.Ive never been incarcerated, but Im pretty sure this room could easily be a JAIL CELL. Negative: EVERYTHING! I was told this was a HALFWAY HOUSE. I believe it. I walk in and out. I would of checked out if only the rude desk clerk (w/a nasty attitude who talked to her Friendgirl about the Market when checking me in) was at the desk when I left. --$

2022-05-21Positive: Customer Service when I first arrived was terrible this property is all about making Tips & Gratuities off of the arriving guests.
