Dilly’s may not have much on the menu, but what they do have Dilly’s makes very well. During a weekend trip to New Hope, PA , my family and I decided to stop here to see what they had. We didn’t want fast food, but didn’t want to sit down for a long time either. Dilly’s fit the bill. I ordered a black bean 🍔 and onion rings . The rest of my family ordered a cheeseburger. I’ve had black bean burgers before so I figured it would be about the same. It was better! I ate my food so fast that I couldn’t take a picture I wish I would have though. The presentation was cute .
This place is a must visit!! Super popular and the location is easy to get to! Parking can be tight if you go on a busy day but the food is worth it!! Its easy access to and from NJ and the canal path as well! You MUST try this place! Also service was fast and they were very nice even under so much pressure with so many orders!
My husband and I passed up this place dozens of times. We are not meat eaters and didnt think there would be a lot on their menu for us. However, we were pleasantly surprised! We had an excellent grilled cheese nice hot crispy french fries and excellent coleslaw thats seemed to be home made.
This is a place you need to see! It is a very pretty place to sit and enjoy the scenery. Its worth it even if you dont eat. But if you do, the food is burgers and hot dogs type items. Better than the average place. The ice cream is quite good. Many repeat customers. We will be back!!
We’ve been coming for years but recently the food and quality took a big step down. I Used to love the Dilly’s Burger. I think they changed it by putting it on a Kaiser roll, and they horribly over did the burger. It was dry meat with puffy bread, kinda made you have to take a sip of water with eat bite. Additionally, we went when there was a line of 2 ppl in front of us and still waited 20 min for 2 burgers. Real shame. Need to get their food production line running ahead of customer demand to put out food fast, and not over-cook the burgers. Soft serve ice cream was fine.
After moving to the area all we heard was how good Dilly’s was! We couldn’t wait to go. The fries are so delicious as well as all the other food! Can’t wait to go there once things are open again and not just get takeout. It would be so nice to stop there after a walk down the canal path.
Dillys is fantastic - an institution along this part of the Delaware. Its a roadside burger stand, but so much more. During this extended crisis theyve kept open 7 days a week, serving up their excellent menu via take-out, asking only that people follow well-posted and reasonable rules that allow them to stay open and safe for their customers and staff alike. My son regularly demands fries, a dog-dog, and ice cream, and will only accept them from Dillys, so we are frequent, loyal, and happy customers.
Perfectly set on river road next a river. Great burgers! Food is always good. Under new management, Im so happy they take credit cards now. Used to have always stop and grab cash before going there. I tried something new this time, had the fish and chips. I have to say, the portion was disappointing. One three x three piece cut in thirds. Loved the quality though. I love taking the kids there. Dont have to worry about hunting for parking.
It has been a long time since we have been here. This place was on our route to drop the boys off at scout camp up the road. We always stopped at the always busy oasis of treats. Parking can be a bit of a game as it stays busy. You use to only be able to pay with cash or check. Now they accept cards. They still have the neat idea of giving you a playing card as your order number. Plenty of seating in different areas. Good views a few steps away and you can car/bike/vehicle watch from any seat. Bathrooms could use some TLC. Good food and good service. Definitely stop in as the place is a hot spot.
Gotta love Dillys! Always a reliable place to get a good ice cream cone or some tasty grilled food. The menu is pretty sizable and youll be sure to find at least one thing that looks appetizing. The wait can be a bit long, especially on hot summer days when tubers come out. Time your visit well and youre sure to have a good time.
What an amazing place!!! We hosted our daughters rehearsal dinner here (65 people). Our guests said that this was one of the best if not the best rehearsal dinners they have been to. The food is delicious and staff cant do enough for you. Please go and give it a try, you will NOT be disappointed.
Dillys is one of those street side, casual, family run, malt and sandwich places that every little town needs. Its good food, good prices, and just a great place to stop and sit for a while. Weve been going for 15 years and will keep going until or grandkids fall in love too.
This place is always jammin but somehow you never need to wait very long for your order. They serve high quality fast food like burgers, hot dogs, fish, fries, sandwiches and ice cream always served fresh and hot. The staff is very efficient and friendly and willing to accommodate however they can. We always wind up talking with other people waiting which is fun and a great way to learn the area better. Weve been making Dillys a pit stop for decades any time we are along the Delaware or even remotely close by because its always a fun and satisfying part of our adventures.
Great lunch food and lots of choices! There are vegetarian options. Ice cream is delicious! Line is always long due to popularity but it moves at a good pace.Sunny and shady seating. I love the location as its right over the bridge from Jersey to Pensy, nice view if you take a little walk. I love coming here!
We go there alot and its usually great food although the last time we went it was near closing time and I got French fries and they tasted like they had sat out all day. Then I got ice cream and it was soft serve and I found a tiny piece of plastic inside it. I went and returned it for another one and the girl was rude.
Really disappointed.I came with my parents growing up and now I took my son along with family who was visiting from out of town. They messed up my cousins icecream order, which was upsetting because she was the one who came from out of town and we were bragging how great this place was.Everything seemed over priced compared to what I remember. It is nice to see that they arent cash only any longer but prices are steep. $1.50 for cheese sauce and fries are $4.50 for a large....so $6 just for cheese fries. I really dont understand why they cant just up prices a dollar or two and give a handful of fries. Not everyone can eat a basket. For the same cost as a chicken finger basket and cheese fries with a small icecream- I was able to have a wonderful breakfast at Lumberton General Store 8 minutes down the road. Should have stayed at had lunch again there.
Dillys is a true treasure right on the Delaware River. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, other sandwiches, and of course ice cream! Its really a unique experience. The person who takes you order gives you a poker card and that is how they call you up for your food. Ive found the food to be very good and my kids love going there. The reason I couldnt quite give it a 5 is parking is limited and sometimes the tables arent readily cleaned off...you can have a few bugs flying around. You can have to wait a bit for your food. Thats said, it is a place you must go to at least once!
Ive been going to Dillys for over thirty years, and even though it has a newer owner it has only gotten better. Be aware of their checkout system though! If youre new it might be confusing- they give you a card and will call that out rather than your name. They dont bring it to you, so make sure youre close enough to the pick up window to hear! Great food, beautiful outdoor eating area that is perfect for kids.
When we are around this area, we make sure we have lunch at this place. Great food. However, today, our hamburger and fries were all cold. We dont mind waiting, and here, you tend to wait but today, we were, for the first time, very disappointed. We will give this one time a pass but if it happens again, its bye bye Dilly!!!
Dillys never disappoints! I only wish I had taken a photo. The back patio is lovely with lush summer garden plants in full bloom. I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream. What I love about Dillys is in addition to all the typical American staples - fat laden and fried stuff - they have a really nice variety of healthy and deliscious vegan items on the menu as well.
Unbeknownst to us, who live locally, we walked to Dillys on a hot summer night, ordered icecream to go and were told unless we had exact change or credit card we would not be served. So, we went to the Stockton deli and got a tasty icecream bar for half the price and they gave us CHANGE!
Will never eat here again, ordered thru the app whcih doesnt mention that everything you order is slopped with mayo. Clicked on burger and it says 3 ounce patty, cheese and bun. Same with the chicken sandwiches. Place my order which was 70.00 and when I picked it up mayo on everything. Called to ask abtout that, and a rude man told me that its my fault I didnt read the menu and due to the price of beef they wouldnt make me another sandwich.
My favorite go to for a great burger and milkshake!!! This time I tried this fish fillet and it was just as delicious and what I would expect. For those who enjoyed walking the bridge to jersey and back to work off your meal - THEY ARE TOWING ANYONE WHO LEAVES THEIR CAR. I understand this too, they are very limited are parking and keeping people moving is only practical business ethics. Definitely go while its still hot and sunny!
Some of the worst prepared fried food Ive ever had, sorry to say... I swear their curly fries were cooked several times. Just awful! Same with the fried fish sandwich... Overcooked and SO sloppily put together I struggled to even pick it up and it made a total mess. I know theyve been getting slammed for their Covid policies... People need to cut them a break. But theres NO excuse for cooking food this way... SHAME ON YOU GUYS!! Their soft-serve ALMOST makes up for it, but doesnt. Ill never order food from Dillys... Sorry, but they NEED to fix this... Seriously.
We have visited Dillys a lot in the past...I couldnt remember why we stopped going there, until we stopped in there today. The staff is friendly, and even when its crowded you dont wait long for your food. We were in line behind 6 people, but the line moved quickly. We ordered food and while my husband waited for it, I looked for a table.Since it was after lunch, it wasnt very crowded, so there were a lot available. I went to one of the outside tables and sat down. Within a few seconds quite a bit of flies landed on the table. I thought, no big deal...it IS outside...where bugs live...and got up and moved to another table. Before I sat down I noticed flies on that table too...a lot of flies. I looked around and noticed everyone was trying to swat flies away from their tables and food as they tried to eat, so I decided to try the tables inside. There are, maybe, 8 booths inside. Nobody else was in there. I picked one and sat down. Within a minute I realized the flies inside were just as bad as outside. There were a LOT of flies. On the windows, on the booths, on the tables.I noticed our order was ready and went outside to help my husband. All of our food was on a tray and we brought it over to where they have the condiments. I picked up my hot dog to put mustard on it and noticed immediately that the bun was stale. My other hot dogs bun was stale. My husbands hot dog bun was stale. His burger bun was fine. I figured if they served us stale buns, they knew it; going back to ask for fresh buns was pointless. We went back to the inside table. As soon as we put our food on the table, the flies were on it...a LOT of flies. My husband said we should go outside, but I said I tried and it was just as bad out there. We ate...and swatted away flies the whole time. My husband said his burger tasted like the frozen kind and wasnt very good. Both of us agreed the fries were good, but that was about it.We noticed that they had clear bags full of some kind of clear liquid outside...which was maybe supposed to cut down on the bugs? But nothing inside. No bags, no fly traps, nothing. Again, I can understand flies outside...not inside.
After going to Dillys at least once a week all through the Pandemic, my husband being high risk we always called ahead. On 8/14/20 we called ahead, I was asked to hold (no problem) 10 minutes later I am disconnected and when I am finally able to get back through, the same female worker that asked me to hold now refused to take our order stating they were too busy and when I asked to speak to a manager, he could be heard telling the employee to say he wasnt available! By this time we had arrived at the intersection in front of Dillys and there was not a single customer at the cashier window or waiting for food!Needless to say this was the last call I will be making to Dillys because this long time customer is done!
The greatest burgers and curly fries ever. I have been consuming them for many years. On my way to fish the river , or on my way to show homes, this place is outstanding. Dilly Cheeseburger with the works and curly fries will be my last meal before I leave this world! when the time comes!
Popular fast food place with food thats well above the average and a great location almost on the Delaware River. Features burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream.Parking lot can get crowded at lunch and dinner times, especially during the summer. Closes in late fall and reopens in spring.
This is what dillys calls a well done burger, absolutely raw. Regular size cheese burgers are not being cooked as they should be. Onion rings are the best ive ever had as are the vanilla milk shakes. That being said the hamburgers come out not cooked to the center as they should be, this has happened over several visits. Ive notified the owner and hopefully she can correct this issue.
Grab your kids, grab your wife, get your self a burger and a soft serve. This riverside staple is the perfect treat to end a day on the Delaware River. Keep in mind, during peak hours they can get quite busy, but dont fret, hang out with the fam and enjoy your time at Dillys!Vanilla and Peanut Butter Malt is Superb!
I have been eating bacon cheeseburgers joyfully at Dillys for 17 years. My family and I love to bike on the Delaware, topped off by our traditional bacon cheeseburger. This year, for some reason, Dillys changed this traditional favorite by putting it on a butter bun with a different kind of cheese--white in color. Dillys cheeseburgers have always had yellow cheese which I assume to be American cheese. Whatever this white stuff was tasted aweful, especially under this terrible new buttered bun. Dillys please go back to the old bacon cheeseburger with the correct bun and yellow cheese! You dont need to change anything!Update 5/8/17: Bacon Cheeseburgers are back to normal and even better now with the addition of nice slabs of Canadian Bacon rather than run of the mill bacon strips. Nice touch, Dillys thanks for listening!
Kind of weird standing by my car calling in an order for an ice cream cone that came in a Styrofoam cup ! But life has changed, no one persons fault everybodys assume sick or carrying a disease even though almost no ones been tested! But Dillys is still one of my favorite stops!
This place is ok. Its a nice location and the staff seemed fine. The food was of reasonable quality, but it took a long time to get. We stood on line for a while to order (so over ten minutes), then it took at least as long to receive the food. Maybe we hit it on an off day, but if I judge purely on the time, I wouldnt go back.
Dilly’s is great. But don’t trust “the google”. Google has no clue when places are actually open and closed. Thanks to google, my family drove 30 minutes to meet my dad at Dilly’s only to learn it was closed. Morale of the story is call, don’t believe everything you see on goog.
Nice and beautiful spot. Stopped by today with the motorcycle on a decent 210 miles roundtrip from NYC. Had the fish platter. Just awesome! Could be upgraded to two fish instead of one. 😜 funniest part are the food waiting ticket. They hand out poker cards. Got a 5 ace of spades. 😝

2022-03-27Legendary local spot for burgers and ice cream. Food was great - we had the Dillys dog and the Dully burger. Fries were great too. Ive had ice cream here years ago so could not give a recent review, but I can say this place gets packed on summer days! Nice view of the Delaware River too. Getting there is a great drive in Rt 32 along the river

2022-06-21Ive been visiting Dillys for a years. Reasonably priced burgers, fries and ice cream. I ordered the veggie burger on my last visit but received a black bean burger that was a bit dry instead. Besides that service was great, the iced tea was refreshing on a hot day the coleslaw was tasty and there was a generous portion of fries. They even filled a bottle of cold water up for my dogs to enjoy. Worth a visit.

2022-05-27Ive been there once so far and tried the Dilly Cheeseburger. Definitely one of the best I ever had. The taste and texture was just right. The outside dining area creates a nice atmosphere for you to eat at. Hoping to get another opportunity to stop here in the future!

2022-05-04Great burgers, very similar to Richmonds Ice Cream Company burgers or Zacks in Delaware County. All around honest to goodness food. Sometimes a wait outside, but good things come to those who wait.

2022-06-06This place used to be legendary. I’m a local and have been coming here my entire life. Yesterday was the last time ever. The portions are ridiculously small and the quality is bad. We ordered soft serve. A small cup was about a tablespoon of ice cream and it was ice crystallized. Go to Ow Wow Cow in Lambertville instead.

2022-05-14Great little place to stop and get some soft serve ice cream and sprinkles along your drive down beautiful river rd. Take your ice cream for a walk across the Delaware River or just sit and enjoy it at their outdoor seating areas. A must visit for a quick bite and treat to end the night.

2022-06-25The food is good, but the ice cream portions are getting noticeably small while the price is going up.
