We came to Doggie Style to pick out some dog toys. We did find what we wanted, but we had to stand and wait for 15 minutes while the person at the desk discussed her personal calendar with someone on the phone. We now know all the details of her holiday plans and all of her thoughts about working. When she hung up, she explained that she was a groomer and that we needed the other employee to ring our purchase. Where was that other employee? She was somewhere else, watching the dog that the first person was supposed to be grooming. Did the groomer apologize and get back to the dog? NO. She spoke with two other customers with dogs before heading back to the grooming area and releasing the person who could take our money. Despite being first in line, it took 25 minutes to make a simple purchase.
Best experience for grooming ever! My dog J Boi hates water but that staff was able to provide him with a bath and other services even though he had the potential to bite. Great customer service! I am beyond pleased with the outcome. Doggie Styles Pets now has a forever customer!
Scheduled an appointment for 10 am for what I was told was a quick 30 minute grooming appointment. When I arrived they had booked another appointment over mine. They told me it would be an hour and a half before they could get to my dog. I figured these things happen and was willing to work with them. When I arrived back, my dog had been left the entire time alone in the crate with his leash and attached poop bag holder. He had completely destroyed both! they made me pay for a replacement of each, which costed me more than the actual appointment itself. There wasnt even so much as an apology from the store.
Quite possibly the worst dog groomer in the city. They do not care about your pet. The groomer leaves halfway through the day and keeps your pet there until they feel like coming back to finish them. They keep my dog for 6+ hours without explanation. Go here if you like waiting 6+ hours for your pet to be done grooming and poor customer service on top of it!
(Updated with response to owner below).FLEAS!!! Fleas!!! Fleas!!! Please do NOT take your pet here to be groomed. I brought my dog here Monday afternoon and found fleas within 24 hours! My dog has NEVER had fleas before. (Ive never had to deal with fleas). Paid $81 dollars (plus tip) for a full groom for my 35 pound dog. Completely overpriced and she got fleas! When I called, the manager was unapologetic stating fleas could come from anywhere and her cats just got fleas last year. It’s more than just coincidence that my flea-free dog would have fleas only AFTER visiting this place. She also stated there have been no other flea reports...yet- fleas are extremely hard to find; so check your pet if you’ve been here. They offered a free flea bath, but why would I want to bring my dog back to a place where she contracted fleas in the first place? No thanks. Other than that, doggie style did not care whatsoever. I got more advice and better treatment going to PetCo when I was buying all sorts of flea treatments. I ended up paying a lot more trying to fix the problem doggie style created.Don’t go here. It’s over priced. The customer service sucks. And your pet will go home with fleas. In response to the owner’s comments:Your certainty that my dog did not get fleas in your establishment matches my certainty that my dog DID get fleas at your establishment. Whatever high standards and strict protocols you’re using aren’t working. I also stand by my claim that my dog DID get fleas from your place of business. In fact, we also spoke with a vet tech and with the timeline we provided, they also believed it was likely the fleas came from our pet groomer. You assume I have not practiced prevention, which is false. Ive never had to deal with fleas because I practice flea prevention. For example, my dog receives monthly topical flea treatment and wears a flea prevention collar. Nothing has changed in my dog’s routine in two and half years that would explain the sudden occurrence of fleas, in winter no less, except for getting her groomed in your establishment.Your gesture of good will is sort of a joke. I believe my dog received fleas at your establishment. Why would anyone in their right mind bring their dog back to that establishment? Why would I come back for more fleas? Again, your assumption that we do not take preventive measures is false. Nice job trying to create and push lies about your customer.I have taken my dog to other places and have had better grooms for a lower price. So in my opinion, it is expensive. And aren’t reviews just that? Opinions based on your experience at that establishment.I acted rationally when emailing and calling/speaking to your location manger. I never raised my voice. I initially accepted the free flea bath and called back to cancel it so I wasn’t just a no-show. Your establishment has every opportunity to react in a rational manner. Telling me your own pets have had fleas before isn’t it. Falsely accusing me of not taking preventive measures isn’t it. Responding to my review in a passive aggressive manner isn’t it. Maybe try some basic customer service tactics like talking to me by answering my e-mail to your location manager, or Facebook message, or by phone call. This isn’t a scathing or false review. This is what happened from my experience with your establishment. This is just a review that YOU don’t like.
The staff is very friendly and helpful! They all love pets and have recommendations for you if you ask. We were able to purchase supplies that we needed for our dog, and our little sheltie loves everything weve gotten so far. The staff is great and the merchandise they sell is great, highly recommended.

2022-02-15I don’t recommend this place for grooming we took our dog to get a puppy cut, which we thought would be around 45-50 dollars and it ended up being the most expensive of the price range of 70$ for a puppy cut! with no explanation of why it was the most expensive option other than it depends on the dogs coat and still no explanation. It was 20 dollars more than expected. It’s not worth 70 dollars for a little puppy cut. Also had to wait a little while to get my dog when I thought he was ready to get picked up just a bad experience overall. The haircut was ok definitely not worth that much money. Another place we’re going to is gonna do a full groom for that price.

2019-05-14Dan the manager at the Fairmount location is absolutely amazing. I recently adopted a puppy through Saved Me, and it could not have gone more smoothly. All due to Dan’s exceptional help.I had filled out a paper application at Saved Me, and initially I wasn’t able to get an answer from anyone there as to what the status was. Someone suggested I call Dan, and he immediately took ownership. He went WAY out of his way to track down where my application went and kept in frequent contact with status updates and what steps I needed to take to get everything in order. It was as if I had a personal liaison guiding me through the process. He arranged everything for me to pick up the pup at the Passyunk store, and there were no complications. He even called me a few days later just to check in and be sure everything is going okay. Wow!!In a day and age in which customers are often left on their own to navigate through difficult or broken processes, my whole experience FAR surpassed any expectations.Huge kudos to Dan for everything. I’m now the very proud owner of my new best friend. And it would not have happened without him.Thank you!!!

2021-10-11I unfortunately had a negative experience with grooming here. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but I just want to give potentially new grooming clients all the info they need to make their decision. My dog had been kept in the kennel for about 4 hrs when I called to check in and they told me they hadn’t started on him yet bc he was being aggressive/trying to bite. His usual groomers and vets always tell me he’s not aggressive despite being an anxious dog, so I think being in the kennel for 4 hours and maybe some negative energy from the groomer had him stressed out to the max. I saw a previous review with similar experiences and I ignored it bc I didn’t think it would happen to my dog. They were able to do everything besides trim his nails but it wasn’t worth the anxiety it caused him. I suggest not going here if you have a dog who’s not a fan of the groomers. This was in July but I’m writing the review now because he had such a positive experience at the Spruce St location this weekend and it just confirmed to me that it wasn’t about my dog, but about the experience here at the Fairmount location. Hopefully in the future they can be more patient with anxious pups.

2021-03-21I love this place! I adopted my dog here and the process was super easy. The staff is friendly, they always have what I need, and they make great recommendations when you’re unsure of what to buy. I have also taken my dog here for grooming and they did a great job.

2022-02-16Will not be returning my dog did not even look like he got any cut was told a different price when I picked him up. I had to go back to get at least the eyes and back cut which they did. Seems like they only care about the money and not doing a good job.

2021-09-09Literally the best. They stayed open late because we found a random street cat and had nowhere to go. They gave us a ton of advice. Sold us on the appropriate product but didnt over sell us on nonsense we didnt need. Their only thought was on the animal and Ill forever appreciate that. They forever have my business.

2021-07-16Had to literally cut matted hair out of my dog’s fur after paying over $100 for their grooming service, and pointing the mats out to the groomer when I dropped her off. Like how can you miss that? Her coat is uneven almost everywhere. There are so many other options in the city that are cheaper and actually have trained groomers.Save your money and go somewhere else (I’d recommend Chez Bow Wow on 2nd)

2019-08-20We scheduled an appointment well in advance and had a confirmation email/number. Our dog is nervous in these situations so has to take medications, which we gave her 2 hours in advance. We do not like giving her medications, but it’s the only way. We showed up and our appointment was not in the system. I don’t understand how after booking on their website, our appointment wasn’t there. The staff had no explanation other than she couldn’t get groomed today. Unacceptable! My wife and I work unusual hours and after working 24 hours straight, came to get her groomed on our one day off. Additionally, we came with reservations anyway as last time she came back with an infection in her paw from being nicked during grooming that they failed to mention as well.We will never be back and will never recommend this place to anyone.Update:Doggie Style reached out to us and apologized for computer system issue. They made it up to us and did a great job grooming our dog!

2019-12-22I just moved to Philly this month, and I brought my little Morkie which is 7 pounds to there today. And I just got the call to pick up my puppy because the groomer said she was bitten by my puppy. However, my puppy is always friendly to both dogs and people, he also played with the staff there. How come my puppy would bite the groomer? My puppy was groomed so many times in New York and every groomer said my puppy is really nice. This is the first time!!! When that groomer took over my puppy from me, she just pulled him rudely. At that time when I left, I was worry about my puppy, and I got the call right after I got home. So I think the groomer there is not professional and rude. I will never go to this place again and I suggest everyone who is looking for grooming for your puppy do not come to this place.
