Malgo was amazing! Her magic transformed my BHLDN illusion lace dress. She was very patient and skilled - she booked a few extra fittings than initially discussed to make sure she got everything right and Im so happy with how my dress looked and felt on my wedding. So glad I found her! Brides - you wont be disappointed and her prices are incredibly reasonable.
Malgo is amazing!! I am not originally from this area so I was having a hard time finding someone to do my alterations for my wedding dress, but then I was lucky enough to find Malgo. She was so quick to respond and very pleasant to talk to. Every interaction I have had with her has been nothing but wonderful! I can be picky at times, especially about my wedding dress, but Malgo was so great! She was very willing to try a few different styles of bustles to find one that worked for me. Her pricing is reasonable and her studio is very clean. I felt very comfortable leaving my wedding dress in her hands and I love the outcome! I can wait to wear my dress in the Spring! Highly recommend!
After seeing the stunning work Malgo did on my friends dress, I was so excited to call her when it was time to get my own dress altered. Malgo was a joy to work with! She knew exactly how to handle each layer of fabric, offered options for redesigning the dress, and understood what I wanted. Her prices were very reasonable, and she was very prompt and communicative. It was a relief to leave my dress in such capable hands, and Im thrilled with the absolutely beautiful result!
Malgo was very professional, kind and helpful during the times I met with her to alter a dress I needed for my destination wedding. When COVID changed our wedding plans for a third time and we changed to a civil ceremony, I turned to her for help with altering a jumpsuit and she was to assist me with it. I cannot wait to be able to wear my jumpsuit later this month and eventually, my dress once it is safe to travel. I am so appreciative of her and the service she provides. She is amazing!
When I bought my dress it was about 10 sizes too big for me (rookie mistake). Malgo somehow made it look like the most beautiful dress for my wedding. She is also very easy to work with, I highly recommend her!
I was completely obsessed with my wedding dress, and I agonized about finding someone I trusted to alter it--I am SO glad I chose Malgo! She is truly an expert and a professional as well as an incredibly sweet person. I bought my dress used, so it had been altered once before, but Malgo took one look at it and it was clear she understood the original construction of the dress and how to keep its shape and integrity, and when she was done it fit me like it had been painted on. Everything stayed exactly in place, was so comfortable, and just truly beautiful. Honestly given the quality of her work, everything else could have been a nightmare and I would still have been thrilled, but Malgo was communicative, transparent, flexible and so lovely to work with, and her prices are quite reasonable given the magic you are getting!
Malgo was very friendly and so fun to be with! She did a really good job altering my wedding dress. Before alterations, my dress was way too big on me. I felt like I made a terrible purchase and could not see myself in that dress. Malgo did her magic and the dress ended up fitting me like a glove. I can truly say now that this is MY wedding dress. Malgo was wonderful to work with! She’s creative and personable. She always communicated with me openly and clearly. I brought her a tea length wedding dress which I wanted some alterations to the bodice and a belt added. Her work is quality and prices are reasonable.
Malgo is extremely talented at wedding dress alterations. My dress was a bit unique as it was a two piece and she made adjustments that had it fitting like a glove. Malgo is EXCELLENT! Id recommend her services to any bride in tri-state area. Shes affordable and her work sells itself. I unfortunately was a covid bride and our plans changed drastically and she was very kind and professional every step of the way. I was having major dress regret and Malgo completely turned that around. My dress fit me perfectly and looked so much better than when I tried it on. Shes so sweet and talented. I had a choreographed first dance and the bustle she made help up not just through the chair dance but through the whole night. It was magical. I owe so much of my amazing day too Malgo!
Absolutely amazing - Malgo is the BEST person to handle your wedding dress alterations. Her work is fantastic, her prices are fair, and she’s a dress genius. My wedding dress was a nightmare (5 layers of silk that couldn’t be bustled) with a train. And she somehow made it work and made it perfect for me with the tiniest little loops to be able to hold the dress up and move - a sort of “mock” bustle that no one else thought of when I discussed the dress wit them. The length, alterations, everything she did was perfect and thoughtful. She’s the best and only person I would recommend.
After buying my wedding dress at Alfred Angelo, I started searching for someone who could do my bustle. It was such a beautiful dress with a long train that it needed someone with exceptional skill to capture the beauty of the dress in the bustle. Malgo was fantastic. She was quick to respond to my emails and inquiries and she was able to fit me into her busy schedule. I told her what I was looking for and she worked her magic. I had so many ties under my dress but she made it so easy to do that my mom and maid of honor had no trouble bustling my dress quickly. I would recommend her to anyone. I am very pleased to highly recommend “Dressigner” by Malgo Szczepek for dressmaking and alterations. After my wedding in 2010, I decided to have my wedding gown altered into a cocktail dress by Malgo. I found her online and she was very pleasant and easy to talk to, and I enjoyed seeing the photos of her creations. Her studio is very professional and neat, and it is easy to see why she is in demand as a seamstress and designer. Her work is just gorgeous! She does extremely fine and detail-oriented work and she is amazingly talented and particular when it comes to the delicate precision required in her designs and alterations.Although I do sew myself, I was not ready to tackle such an intense project. My wedding gown is ivory silk, without lace or ornaments, and would show any errors I made. Malgo is a trained and experienced designer, and for her, my dress was a piece of cake! I met with Malgo three times: once for my measuring and assessment of the project, once for a second fitting with the seams basted, and a final time to try on the finished product. I felt very comfortable leaving the dress with her, and she took a deposit and I signed a contract; she walked me through each step. I was truly blown away with the wonderful job she did. The stitching is fine and beautiful, and the dress looks elegant and as if it was a cocktail dress all along. I look forward to wearing it on future anniversaries and special occasions.Malgo was very flexible when I needed to reschedule an appointment, and she got the work done in a very efficient manner. There is lots of parking by her studio. I would definitely consider hiring her again for future work, and I would certainly recommend her to friends and family who need custom work or formalwear alterations. This kind of work demands talent, expertise, and perfection, and Malgo will EXCEED your expectations! She is wonderful!
Malgos skills impressed my former seamstress/dress maker grandmother (who is a pretty tough critic)! She made my wedding dress - which has intricate lacework and lots of beading - fit me like a glove, and the hem was absolutely perfect both bustled and unbustled. She magically added some length to a too-tight strap that went across my otherwise open back. She clearly knows and loves what she is doing. She was always happy to see me and in a cheery mood. She was very communicative and had no issues rescheduling one of my appointments when something came up at work. I really enjoyed my experience with Malgo and I highly recommend her talents. Illl definitely go back to her when I want to repurpose my wedding dress!
I highly recommend Malgo for wedding dress alterations since she is very detail oriented and professional. I went to her with a Winnie Couture silk sample gown that was a bit too small for me and she completely reworked the dress so that it would fit for my big day. The alterations end-up involving replacing the zipper on the back of the dress with lacing, and adding 5 inches of fabric under ruching at the waist to make the dress longer. These kinds of major alterations require an expert and Malgo did a wonderful job. In addition to being a very good seamstress, Margo was also extremely sweet and reassuring about getting my dress fixed. I cant imagine having had anyone else work on my wedding dress. Thank you :)
After finding a beautiful prom dress that I absolutely loved online, I decided to take a huge risk and order it. When it arrived, just 3 weeks before my prom, I found that while it basically fit me, the zipper was of poor quality and wouldnt budge. There were also a few seams on the shoulders that I felt were unappealing and not tailored properly. My mom found Malgo online and I made an appointment to see if she could help me. We went to her little shop, and I was very much impressed with how adorable it was. It was very clear that Malgo knew what she was doing and cared very much about her work. Malgo was able to cut the back of my dress into a lace panel, and even surprised me and fixed the seams in the shoulders saying, She just couldnt bare to look at them. After Malgo was finished with my prom dress it was absolutely perfect and I cannot thank her enough. I will definitely be going back to Malgo again!
Malgo made several alterations to my BHLDN Onyx gown, including shortening the complex lace straps. Her studio is clean and organized, and working with her was an enjoyable experience. My dress fit perfectly after only one fitting! I highly recommend Malgo to other Philadelphia brides.
Malgo is very profesional, responsible, kind and pay attention to every detail. Personalized service I always had her cell phone number for any question and she always was available,. She has magics hands, my dress was extremely big and at the end fit me like a mannequin, awesome.She made my veil. Brides, if you want to feel safe without any worries, this place is the best. 2022-04-28I’m so happy I found Malgo to alter my dress after I bought it at a boutique in NYC. I needed my dress taken in at the bust, straps shortened, hemmed, and bustled. She does amazing work and I trusted her completely with my dress. I was so thrilled with how my bustle turned out and I was easily able to dance the night away!! Her prices are also reasonable for the scale of work. Malgo also hemmed my mother’s dress for our wedding! I highly recommend Malgo for any of your alteration needs!!

2021-08-14Working with Malgo for my dress alteration was one of the best choices and least stressful moments of wedding planning. She is professional, flexible, affordable, and her work is impeccable. I had a dress that needed lots of adjustments, and Malgo worked with me to decide how best to make them work. Her work with the fabric of my dress was really impressive--I couldnt tell she had taken in the torso at all. She also created a unique bustle for my dress that I had never seen before. The dress fit so well and looked great on my wedding day. Overall, Malgo is lovely to work with on top of her wonderful alterations!

2022-01-09Malgo is amazing! I came in with a dress that was way too big on me (even though I ordered what was recommended according to my measurements). She eased my stress away with each appointment by working her magic. Her attention to detail and care for the dress was just incredible. At the end, my dress fitted like a glove. Malgo was just so kind and sweet to me throughout the whole process. I cannot rave enough about her! Would recommend her in a heart beat!

2018-11-26Malgo is amazing, and I highly recommend her services!My wedding dress was way too long and came with weird creases from the manufacturer. Malgos studio is extremely clean, so I felt safe leaving my white dress in her hands. Her prices are very good, too!Malgo hemmed 7+ layers of my wedding dress, to make sure it fit perfectly and I could enjoy myself. Every step of the way, she was there to discuss the choices we were making, figure out the best schedule for our fitting appointments, and offer advice. (I took every piece of advice, and it all worked out perfectly!)Then, she helped select what kind of bustle to use for the long train, and taught us how to do the bustle. The bustle was beautiful, invisible during the ceremony, and made the dress the perfect length so that my guests didnt step on the dress during the reception. It was also very strong and secure for the entire reception, even when dancing actively. When we went to pick up the dress, she had steamed/pressed it, and her work was very careful and neat.Im so excited to share this recommendation for Malgo now that we have photographs to show her beautiful alterations.

2020-10-22I cannot say enough about Dressigner for bridal alterations. The owner, Malgo was extremely professional and attentive to every detail of my gown. My dress required more than the average amount of alterations and although she anticipated an extensive number of hours to get it done, she happily took on the task. She accurately planned out the number of fittings it would take to get the dress perfect for my big day. Despite the setbacks and restrictions due to the COVID pandemic, she was able to complete the project with perfect timing. I felt very comfortable with her timeline, suggestions, and amazing updates on every fitting. The week before my wedding I happily left her shop with my perfectly tailored gown. Malgo is an amazing one-woman show. If you want professional work with a very personal touch, I recommend Malgo of Dressigner for your bridal alteration needs.

2021-09-15If you are in the Philadelphia area and need an alteration, dont look further! Malgo altered my wedding dress which had a ton of very intricate lace work. She altered the dress in a way that didnt take away from the original integrity of the dress and replaced some of the lace to make it look even better than when I brought it into her. Her extensive knowledge of how a dress should fit is unparalleled. She caught the smallest details that made all the difference in the final product. For example, Malgo knew that she needed to hand stich some of my dress which I genuinely dont believe would have occurred with someone with less experience. Malgo went above and beyond to make sure my wedding dress fit me perfectly and I cannot recommend her enough!

2021-07-07I can’t say enough about how talented Malgo is. I came to her with a dress 3 sizes too big for me, full of intricate lace and beading and an extra long train with an emergency because the wedding dress shop I was working with decided to cancel all of my scheduled fittings 2 weeks before I was supposed to have my first fitting. I found Malgo from a friend that had her alter her wedding dress previously, and I’m SO glad I found her! From the start, she had a vision and was so professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. She knew exactly what to do to transform a nightmarishly fitted dress into the beautifully fitted dress that I dreamt of in a short amount of time. She was so accommodating and listened to all of my concerns throughout the full process and addressed each and every one of them. My dress looked like it was custom made for me on my wedding day, and had the most beautiful bustle (9 points, extremely long train). I can’t thank her enough for making my wedding dress absolutely perfect!
