A one star review for this establishment is too generous. I live 3 hours away but purchased a car locally and figured Id go to dunkle (DESPITE the terrible reviews I had read) to have the title switched over because it was close. They were busy and in a rush to get my paperwork started, didnt ask the right questions or listen to what I needed, and also didnt mention they dont take credit or debit. Once my paperwork was started they asked if Id be paying with cash or check, and I said I was hoping to pay with a credit card. They said they dont take them and directed me to the ATM in their office. The ATM kept declining my transaction due to their fax machine sharing a line with it, so I couldnt pull money out, and the manager kept suggesting I shouldnt go into offices asking for services I dont have the money to pay for. After the condescending and rather insulting remarks from the old lady I decided to gather my things and take my business elsewhere, but they refused to return my documents until I paid her for her time and effort (I had asked them to stop from the moment they mentioned not taking credit or debit, but she said wed figure it out). They held my title until I went to the gas station across the street (where I was immediately able to pull $400 from a real ATM with no problem, I gave her $10 to shut her up, and went to the used car lot at the end of the parking lot where the very friendly gentleman there gladly took my credit card and had me on my way with the title done and tags on my car in less than 15 minutes. Moral of the story, I saw the 2.8 star rating and tried to give a small business my business and regret going against my gut feeling. Go to the mackeys autobarn, youll have a much better experience and also get your tag and tile done faster for less.

Not a great experience here. I mean, I ultimately got the title work done that I needed, but the customer service was somewhat abrasive and confusing.After driving an hour to get there, I wasnt particularly in the mood to sit in the waiting area. My wife and two very well-behaved teenaged sons were the only people waiting for service and we were just kind of standing there, not hurting anything. We were next to be served, so I didnt really see the need to have a seat. The woman who runs the office (possibly even the owner?) insisted three times in about a 2 minute span that we have a seat. I commented to my wife that we really must have been bothering her by standing, so we took a seat. I couldnt help but notice throughout the entire visit that there is a lot of aggressively worded signage throughout the office. DONT LEAN ON THIS, DO NOT USE CELL PHONES IN THE OFFICE, things of this nature. It appears the lady who runs the shop is OCD about how people conduct themselves while patronizing this business.Working with the woman who did our title work was a bit frustrating and, at times, a bit of a head scratcher. She was kind of nice, but asked some really dumb questions. We had explained to her up front that there was no monetary exchange involved between the two related parties for the vehicle in question. During the course of the transaction, she asked questions about the vehicle, information that she could have read off the title she was holding in her hand. She also asked a question about financing. Im not sure how we could have been any more clear that this was a simple title transfer from one person to another, a parent to their offspring. Why would financing be involved? The vehicle is clearly owned, youre holding the title in your hand.On a positive note, the whole transaction was handled rather expeditiously, was fairly straight-forward and not too expensive. I would also give a thumbs up to the business for having a can full of loaner screwdrivers for people to attach a license plate.Short of a car dealership in the area, Im not sure anyone else does this type of title work, so youre kind of stuck going there. The notary was friendly but in a hurried, impersonal manner.They are ridiculously expensive, up to three times as much as other local notaries.Bottom line: need something done? Itll get done and relatively quickly. But dont expect to get a decent price or good customer service.

Don’t ever go here for your title or registration. They charge astronomical fees and then call you days later to tell you that they “forgot” to collect another $20 and expect you to drop it off. AFTER they’ve already issued you your tags. The only reason I’m going to pay it is because they’re going to hold my paperwork hostage until I do. What a rip off. Go to Claar’s in Claysburg. It’s about $100 cheaper and you get the same results.

Since when does a notary service get involved and give out a letter to a loved one family member so that family member can send it to a heir so they can sign off a title? My deceased loved one hasnt even been a gone week and Im supposed to sign off a title when a will hasnt been filed. Absolutely disgusting

Id be lost with out Dunkles. Im there what seems like once a month. Ive always been treated good and there service is second to none. There worth every dime!!

Avoid this business like the plague! The owner Deb was totally rude and condescending to myself and my wife. My advice is to find another business for online Penndot services.
