I remember a time where food was real, prices were affordable and people were genuine. There is a place in Bensalem PA called Eddington House which is a throw back to a world where people remember your name, the food is uncomplicated and delicious, and the service is old school friendly and polite. We usually dine at Eddington House after 18 holes at Bensalem Golf Club (next door). We are always met with a warm hello and a big smile. We can’t say enough nice things about Lisa and Breanna. They are both so nice, polite and funny. We can’t thank you both enough.Burgers are great, Caesar salad is home made, the quesadilla is loaded with cheese, and the Italian hoagies are stuffed with meat and Philly authentic. Lastly, the french fries are cooked in same day oil and are light and crispy. Please stop in Eddington House, stay for a long lunch, and leave with a warm heart.
Chicken bacon ranch sandwich was the special and super delish! Real chicken breast chopped. Chicken Marsala was over penne but you had a choice. Mozzarella sticks for appetizer and they were nice & crispy. This place never disappoints us, friendly family dining. Later that night was a band but we did not stay, we were in a food coma!
Have been to the restaurant many times over the years. The quality of food has been declining. Went today and ordered French onion soup. It came out with black, burnt cheese on top. So surprised the server gave it to me without saying anything. I tasted a little bit of the cheese and it was awful. r to take it back and give me a new one.. not going back anymore..black
Even though Ive driven by i dont know how many years, I never stopped in until today. My wife and I both had the mild garlic wings and we agreed that they were fantastic. Looking forward to another visit to try some other things on the menu. Certainly wont be strangers.
Went here for dinner last night with my wife and daughter. We enjoyed the food. Id recommend the garlic wings and the corned beef Rueben. The pepper was a bit heavy in the buffalo chicken cheesesteak, but not too excessive. After we were done, my daughter asked if we could go out for dinner here every Sunday, so Id say thats a good review from her as well!
The food is fine with an okay beer selection. I think the bar style food is your best bet here. Im not a fan of multiple servers tending to us. It seems I go too long with an empty glass and Im not sure why. Servers always seem hurried, but theyre nice and accommodating in general.
I’ve been coming toEddington to the house for over 20 years always a very clean bar family friendly nice dining area. They have excellent bar sandwiches including their chili. The barmaid’s are always very friendly and courteous and so are the waitresses. They have a nice selection on their dinner menus.
Top notch Joint! Everybody that lives in the neighborhood knows The E House. If you are looking to catch a drink at the bar, watch a sporting event, or have a very nice dinner in the Restaurant, theyve got it all covered. The staff is awesome, and the owners are great people.
Heading to the park, one needs to fuel up ahead of time. There are plenty restaurants in the area that are frequented by various crowds at different times, so that it feels like everyone is experiencing that place to have a shared experience together. Not this place! We felt like the odd group out, whereas everyone else were the regulars. On the bar side of the joint, the game was on, and there came the occasional cheer when sports team scored points or did something especially favorable for the entertainment pleasure of those watching said athletic event. After requesting they turn down the television directly over our table, I didnt mind the rest of the ambiance of those who had come to pick up where they left off the night before. The cocoanut shrimp was good! And the beachy pirate treasure-themed tables were a hit for our toddler who, despite being told otherwise, continued to try and pick up the seashells embedded under an inch of epoxy. It was precisely what was needed before heading to the state park.
Fun and quality is what u get and u need to hav an affair well u wont find a better deal anywhere and u wont find better service or food Ive been in the bar and restaurant business for 40 years and they r definitely a place to try and rent out I give them a score of 11 check them out
Excellent menu/food! Great service! Love decor! Sports on TV was awesome! Bar/drinks impeccable! Accommodating waitresses!!!! Excellent location! Children and grandparents friendly! Free parking and handicap accessible a plus! Great place for a date, nightcap or happy hour! Must bring my girlfriends to socialize! You must try it for yourself! Enjoy!
Was there tonight and left before even getting a chance to order a drink. Which is unusual as I came to see friends play tonight so it would take a lot for me to leave a place where they were plating. The waitress was so rude. She appeared upset I say at her table. Cant comment on the food as I was so humiliated by the waitress I couldnt stay. The service here has definitely gotten worse since I was here last. Will never come back again.I am amused at the owners reply as they was not what occured. I was told to check with the hostess who oddly was not at the door but at the waitress station as I was unaware there was even a hostess since no one greeted me. The waitress also complained I didnt wait until she cleaned the table. It was not so much the requests but the dismissive attitude in which they were delivered that drove me from the restaurant. The waitress was rude and condescending. It was not your policy I objected to but the manner in which it was delivered by the waitress.
I had a 50th surprise party for my husband there yesterday and it was great! 50 people, the room in the back there was plenty of space. Great price, delicious food, and staff was awesome, so accommodating and easy to work with. My guests were raving about the food. I would recommend this place to anyone. Excellent place to have a party. The room is decorated for Christmas and looks so nice. The guests were saying how much they enjoyed the Christmas decorations and the beautifully decorated tree in the room.
The reason I am only giving 2 stars is because we ordered French onion soup which was good but came right after our salad came then our food came right after that. My prime rib special was very rare and I asked for medium and by the time our waitress came back, my husband was done eating so I asked her to cook it more and brought it home for the dog. So my date night consisted of some soup, mashed potatoes and bread. Would not go back again
The food is always amazing. The staff is friendly. Ive been here to eat as well as attend an event and both times didnt disappoint. There is plenty of parking too. If you are looking for a neighborhood bar where everyone knows everyone, this is the place. If you want a nice dinner out there is a section away from the bar that makes that perfect.
I have never had a problem with this restaurant, consistent workers, great food, and just amazing overall. I have been coming here for the last few weeks, trying all the burgers they have made, the chefs definitely know what they are doing. Can’t wait to come back next Tuesday! Trying the pepper jack burger next!
Always loved this place, just recently went and had the apple/walnut salad. It was AMAZING! Honestly probably the best salad Ive ever had!!! Going back this Saturday with my daughter to get another one! The one girl behind the bar was amazing, great personality! I wish I got her name, the other bartender was not attentive as she shouldve been. She walked by me several times with an empty drink. I even pushed it up so she could see, not a clue
Everything but the food is great. Second time eating there and it is just horrible. Ordered chicken tenders and fries. Simple. Tenders came out dark and looked like their oil needed to be changed. They are just regular frozen flat tenders, nothing good at all about them. Their fries were shoe string fries. Wouldnt think that would be a restaurants first choice. My friend ordered their garlic wings. Horrible horrible horrible. It smacked you in the face as soon as it hit the table. It looks like they just mince up garlic, a whole lot of it and throw it in some mild sauce. No way you could stomach that taste. I think they should get rid of their head chef. Whoever it is, is doing them an absolute disservice and create a whole new menu.
I’m surprised this establishment goes to the lengths they do to treat new customers terribly.I would give this place zero stars if I could. I went here with my family and was disappointed by the service. We waited 10 minutes just to get our drinks. Then we ordered chicken parmigiana, cheese steaks and wings. The food came out cold, the wings were soggy and we had to beg for our complimentary bread two times. We asked to speak to the manager. This lady Gina comes out with major attitude and asks what our problem is! Excuse me, your speaking to a customer not your employee. We told her our food is cold and the wings are not crispy as ordered. This manager Gina literally rolled her eyes at us! It was very embarrassing considering the entire restaurant was staring at us as Gina stormed away from our table with our plates. We waited another 20 minutes for our food to return. When paying the bill we were double charged for the chicken parmigiana and they added a beer to our bill we never ordered. Extremely bad service, long waits and major attitudes is what you can expect here. Horrible manager! This place seems to make their living off of the bar area only.
So my husband and I went for the first time for date night tonight. We ordered open faced roast beef pot stickers I had a salad and he got chili. The chili and salad was bland the roast beef was not good the gravy tasted like it was out of a can with lunch meat roast beef. We never even got the pot stickers. Now the service no one checked on us to see how we were doing and the place was dead. Horrible food and service and I would never come back.
Ive been coming here for quite awhile. My kids have been coming here since they were born and the staff and crowd enjoys the kids around. Everyone always asks where my kids are when we come without them. Food and drink specials all week with plenty of televisions for watching sports and live entertainment in the bar area. I like how the bar and restaurant area are separate sections and not a central bar with tables around it. The food is a mix between bar food and diner food which isnt a bad thing. We usually get French Onion soup or salads for appetizers and sometimes order the specials for dinner or the veal/chicken parmesan as you get 2 meals out of it. The kids have a separate menu which is perfect as it has all their favorites plus a dessert is included. Great staff and great atmosphere along with great food means we will come back week after week.
This was my very first time here even though I have lived in Bensalem practically all my life. The atmosphere was cool I really digged the the rustic look. The staff was energetic and courteous as well as on top of there service to our table. The food was the best Ive had out in quite some time. If your looking for a good place to eat thats quick good and affordable with friendly people check this place out you shallnt be disappointed.👍💯
Had a graduation party for my cousin here and the girl Trisha (or however you spell it) was outstanding!! Im very picky when it comes to service and she was incredible. Very kind, was smiling, grabbed drinks and refills the entire time and overall made the experience here wonderful. She should definitely be recognized for her wonderful service!
This place is amazing, the people are friendly, the food is great. Just an overall wonderful place to go. If you want to relax, go here, if you want to have fun, go here... Im so grateful for the wonderful people here. I was having a kind of rough day and this place and the people made me feel better. I would definitely reccomend this place to everyone. ❤
First time here, onec you walk in you will notice how dated the place is. Not real busy for a Saturday night. We ordered prime rib, pot roast, cheese steak. The service was quick and friendly, the prime rib was lacking in flavor but was sitting on a plate of juice. The plate should have been dry and juice on the side, it made it hard to cut the steak without spilling juice all over the table. They offer garlic bread or regular bread with the meal. The pot roast was a nice and tender as well the cheese steak was on a 8 inch roll with American cheese, roll was soft with a lite crunch. We ordered a IPA good all taste are different so I realy cant say if you would like it or not, also the Arnold Palmer hard came in a can. The Gin and tonic needed a little more gin, again just how we would like it. Over all the place was I wouldnt make a special trip to.
Not so great quality food. I asked for a medium well NY strip steak and my boyfriend asked for a medium rare prime rib. I ended up with an over well (slightly burnt) steak and he ended up with a very rare prime rib. Be very speicific to the waitress with your order. Aside from that the service was nice. Just dont expect too much. First time coming here, not coming back.
I always have a good time great atmosphere bartenders are always prompt and polite def pull stuffies out that crane machine all together a good time the live bands are definitely a joy and entertainable its a judgement free zone so come on by for a brew and have a seat this is one def hard to beat smiles everywhere
We went for a late dinner on Friday night. Our waitress seemed preoccupied on her phone most of the time. My boyfriend ordered baked ziti and was told that the chef was no longer in and they could not make him that dish. They offered him chicken parm, but they said he could substitute the pasta for mashed potatoes, fries, ot baked potatoes. Not sure why they couldnt boil some water to make the pasta. I had fish tacos, they fish was fried and seemed to be overcooked as it was drenched in oil. The food was not good, the service wasnt to great either. I would suggest going somewhere else, I wont go back.
E House went down hill, all the way down.the three appetizers we ordered, nachos had gross chilli barbaque on it and cold in the middle, nobody make nachos like that, chicken wings were deformed, chicken fingers, flat and very salty, staff was overwhelmed with the order. I looked around at other peoples food and none of it looked any good. The lady behind me didnt like the stuff shells, from the minute they put it in front of her. Looked bad. Its a shame we need a good family restaurant in Bensalem.
Unfortunately, the noise level was off the charts. While my main entree was very good, I was shocked to receive canned vegetables. I didnt think any restaurant served that anymore. However, the prices were reasonable -- $22 (including tip) for chicken marsala, iced tea, coffee, and an ice cream sandwich. And yes, the ice cream sandwich was straight out of the box but dressed up with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Plus, it was only $.94! Id go back but dont expect a gourmet experience.
I cant think of anyplace more fun. Not only are the sirloin tips served by Gina the greatest, but we always have the most enjoyable time. When the band or DJ starts the bar patrons, dining room patrons and servers are all up for the fun. Whether dressed in construction clothes or business suits everyone is having fun! After dinner bartenders Eileen, Lisa and Stacy never skip a beat. I live in New Jersey and started going there in the 1980s after work, for dinner or for an evening out and have never been disappointed.
Great place but as always mens room is a hassle to get to..it seems to me a Porta potty for the men only out back would be a solution..probably some dumb law preventing it.. I would drink more beer if I didnt have to go to the head... great service.. fries were a little cold but good all the way around...wings are fantastic

2021-12-05Initially, I was drawn in for the weekend specials that I read about online. I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Po Boy. The shrimp is battered and deep fried and it was drizzled in a delish bang bang sauce and pickles which concelled that the shrimp was just barely over done. It came with a huge side of Cajun mac and cheese which had just the right amount jalapeno. For 9.99, I left with a full stomach and some mac & cheese leftovers Ill be looking forward to eating later. My husband ordered one of the daily specials, a chicken cordon bleu sandwhich with a side of fries 9.99. The chicken was juicy and the ham and cheese were bubbly on top. He said the side of shoe string fries were tasty, but it was a smaller potion, not quite enough for sharing. The Eagles game was on and was visible from just about every seat in the house. Our server was newer but attentive and she clearly happy to be working here. The EHouse feels like a mom and pop place. I was happy to finally make it to this gem, and I will be back for sure. You will not regret making that turn off Street Road to opt for this humble treasure.

2022-05-03Im glad I finally got to try this place after years of living in the area. Its not your typical pub. Service is top notch and the food is great. Save room for desert because their fried cheesecake is amazing. Ill definitely be back.

2021-02-11A day of cheesesteaks and drinking with Amigo Dan continued at The E-house. Good neighborhood bar. I thought the cardboard cutouts of their regulars at the bar was an awesome touch. The fried onions and mushrooms were nicely done. The meat was a little bland and there was a lot of a water/oil substance.
