Eides Entertainment is a great place to buy movies of all types, posters of different movies, music (on CD and vinyl) of all times, comics of different genres, and so much more. The staff is helpful when I had questions and they were friendly. Very nice and welcoming atmosphere.
I will say this right up front, this place has very, very good books. From gold age to current, they have everything. Spent some time talking with one of the co-owners and I agree, while there is some wiggle room, dont try to haggle because you dont like the price and tear them down because of it. I will say that they have one of the best selections in the Pittsburgh area and I am happy to have spent some time at the shop.
Its a rare thing to give five star but this place rocks. They have collectible books from Burroughs, Verne, marvel comics, dc comics, and independents. They have collectible novels from Michael Moorcock, and storm Constantine and the list goes on. Its a magical place if you ask me. I frequent it and I bring money to purchase!
This isn’t the Eides you remember… it’s now a ‘NO’ zone of socially backwards employee/owners that epitomise anti social engagement with patrons. The basement comic book managers cortisone your purchases as if you have no clue why or what you are looking for, the second floor fella basically is so awful to deal with I honestly will never shop there again. After attempting to make a transaction easier with exact change, he angrily says no and shoves a handfull of change back into my hand and literally says to me “no thanks, I just want you to move on. I don’t want your 18 cents”. At this point I asked why and he began to go into one of those geek style diatribes why he wants people to get in and get out. I u der stand COVID is a real thing and I was masked up and keeping my distance from him and everyone else. I think my experiences there have been leading up to this review and will no longer be frequenting this once fine establishment. Sad enough to say I will purchase my weird odds and ends from an easy online retailer now. Sorry. I did discuss this with a few friends before I posted this and sadly they all have the same opinion now. Did I mention it smells in there?
Ive known Jimbo & Ken since 1989. I remember visiting the store for the first time when they were located on Federal Street, it was both of them that got me interested in comic books once again. Mr. Greg Eide(R.I.P.) was a great man & comic historian. When I return back home, It is mandatory that I not only shop there, but to always stop in to visit Jim & Ken. Eides Comics & Entertainment is very important part of the history & culture of the City Of Pittsburgh.
I love this place! Im new in Pittsburgh, and I was so excited when I discovered this store! Its like a Disneyland for movies and comics fans! I really enjoyed it, and Im really going to visit it again so soon! I really need a whole day to explore the variety of movies, comics and all the cool stuff they have! Its really awesome!!!
Perfect for the comic book nerd, book worm, science fiction fanatic, and audiophile of any age! Make sure youve got some extra money- a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it.No restrooms, four floors, some refreshments like soda/chips, they dont allow bags while shopping.
Incredible place. Never been in to a comic store before in my life! Staff was helpful went to look for newer star wars comics and tlj Kylo Ren action figure and the rise of Kylo Ren comics ( all 4 or at LEAST 1 OE 2) But there were zero of any settled for a bunch of other awesome things
I was visiting Pittsburgh to take an exam and my phone died whilst touring the city. Anxious I came across this place by chance and Ken (the owner) was extremely helpful. He let me stay there till the closing so I could charge my phone and we chatted till I stayed. He even offered some food. Thank you for your kindness Ken. I wish you all the success. You are the best.
Store is cool However the staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. Sort of funny to be treated like trash by a bunch of 50 somethings who live in their moms basement and never kissed a woman. Also the staff is Covid crazy and clueless. If you want to be accepted in Eides, dont shower and and wear a bag over your head.
Overall, an excellent place to shop for a wide variety of collectible and eclectic items. Their supply of comic books, DVDs, vinyl, figurines, and more is extensive - there are four floors to explore. The pricing on everything is generally very fair - and is competitive with the online market. Many items include standardized condition appraisals that have been, in my experience, accurate and up to expectations. The only reason Im not giving five stars is that this is not the place to go if you are looking for used vinyl from the biggest names - Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc. The only inventory Ive ever seen for those types of bands are brand new re-releases of their albums... for $20-40 or more. If you want to get original / used albums from those bands, youll need to go to the Attic, Jerrys or Johnny Angels.Otherwise, a phenomenal place to shop!
27 years ago, I arrived in PGH for my first year of college. I walked into Eides and immediately bought a brown Mr Horndog t-shirt. Later it would become the go to place for my CD collection. Now after all this time I visit and am not disappointed. 4 floors now of nostalgia and odds n ends that you simply cant get anywhere else. Comics, sound equipment, magazines, toys, clothing... If youre in PGH, you need to visit Eides at least once.
I love this place! The staff is always friendly and helpful. I mostly shop their dollar comics, but will occasionally purchase movies, vinyl, collectible comics and action figures there. They run a anniversary sale every year that I would definitely recommend checking out. Ive been to quite a few shops in other states but Eides is still one of my all time favorite places to shop.
What cant be said about Eides? All of the staff is generally very friendly/pleasant/ in a good mood, incredibly knowledgeable of their sections and can even give recommendations on what you like and the prices are all incredibly fair. The whole building is filled from top to bottom; dollar comics? They got em, Brand new comics? They got em, Action figures and other famous character collectibles? They got em, Films of most genres in used or new dvd; mass produced or boutique versions? They got em, CDs, Vinyl, Cassettes? THEY GOT EM! Go to eides, bring your kids, bring your friends and family and go experience one of the greatest collectible catchall emporiums for yourself!
Their customer service sucks!. The attitude you get when you just as a questions is rude and makes you not want to even look at the merchandise.. then to have signs posted about hiring that actually have condescending remarks in them show you they just dont care... would rather order off Amazon.
This comic book store is nothing short of mythical. Im not joking. Ive been to a LOT of comic book stores in my life. They are generally awesome places, as they are full of the best kinds of people on the whole, that being people who read comics. I would say 2% of comic book stores are even bad and even then... Theyre trying to get better. Then, 95% is a really good comic book store. But this place. THIS PLACE.This is exactly my basement, except 2000% larger. Its the last 3% ... This place, is LEGENDARY. There might be a million comics in here. AND they have vinyl, video games, action figures, DVDs, VHS, in every cool genre and geeky niche. The people who run it are friendly, conversational, self-deprecating & funny, and they love this place. Everyone should go, even if you dont read or buy comics. Go talk to someone there, tell them what youre into, and let them pick out your perfect book.If you know me, a Philadelphian through and through...I can pass on almost everything Pittsburgh. This place however, makes me actually, honestly, jealous.
Place has new management!! Do not support them. They suck. Everyone that works there are idiots and are rude to everyone. This place was amazing back in the day but now with the new owners it’s horrible!! This place won’t last with the the new owners and how they are running this place. RIP Eids…
I love this place! Ive been coming here since 1996, mostly with my best friend. Great selection of movies, music, collectibles and harder to find items. Great, helpful staff. They also buy and trade. I used to get some of my earlier Godzilla items from here before I got a computer and discovered the world. Even if I left empty-handed, it was worth the short trip from Washington, PA.
The last time I was in this establishment was after Christmas in the Year of our misery 2020. My friend and I had planned to go to this store and financially support it, as it is a local business. I tried to follow prevaling gudelines by wearing a face shield to protect others and initially, we entered the store without a hitch, the cashier being a genuinely good guy overall. No sooner had I begun making my selections when out of the blue, this manager who thought he was Gods gift to the mercantile industry had the nerve to tell me my face wasnt properly covered (as I cant wear an actual mask due to a pre-existing lung condition Ive had for four years). Even as my friend Valerie tried to explain our situation, his holiness refused to even listen to reason: thus, she and I stormed right out of there and went to a more accomodating comics store (whose owners are good friends of mine). Moral of my cautionary tale: be careful how you treat customers irregarding of any current situation. It may bite you back later on...
Never any free parking over the years. Attitude of staff sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Back issues should be sorted by alphabet rather than publisher to be easier to locate. Negatives not good for customer base. They buy what you have but dont expect a high percentage. But still, the best place to find comics.
I just went into eides to see what they had, i had a little bit of money to spend and saw all these 5 star reviews and heard from other people that its a great place to go for anything nerdy, didnt get greeted, not even a hey, or can i help you find something, so i decide okay ill check it out anyway, maybe its just an off day, so i look around, and decide to go downstairs, more of the same, no gretting, i said hello to the man working downstairs, just asks in a rude tone can i help you find anything, i say idk yet, just looking for now, and then i go back to being ignored, i dont understand the hype of this place, sure its got a ton of nerdy stuff, but i am sure it suffers because of horrible customer service, idk, i thought employees were supposed to greet customers, not the other way around
Some of the employees could act a little nicer, but this is one of the best, if not the best, place to buy high grade comics & vinyl records in this part of the country. You will overpay a bit, but the stuff is super clean. Parking on the street is sometimes hard to find, but but usually you will pay no more than $3-5 in that Greyhound parking garage across the street.
Stopped in after noticing it on the street. Amazing selection and prices, especially on their action figures and toys! Could have easily spent the day browsing. Employees were friendly and helpful as well. Satisfied customer who will return next time Im in Pittsburgh.
This place is amazing! 4 floors of collectibles! Comics, books, statues, pops music and so much more. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. So many great finds here. You could spend hours here. The only bad part is there is no public restroom so dont drink anything before visiting.
Yeah, this place does have a large selection of comics and collectibles. However, the staff is the stereotypical gatekeepers of comics. They’ll mock your choices, then tell you that the comic with the standard cover that only came out two days ago is 7x cover price (“Only ‘cause that’s what the idiots on eBay are selling them for” - actual quote from their clerk)If you’re in Pittsburgh and want comics, go to Duncan Comics, Big Bang or New Dimension. They have great inventories, fair prices and pleasant/helpful staff members.
No better source of all things media in downtown Pittsburgh. 4 floors of comics, movies, books, music and toys. My first visit I was brought by my wife and after walking in to the comic and toy bottom floor I told her to leave and pick me up later because this would be awhile. I have found dozens of classic and new items at decent prices, and always see something new whenever I go. Helpful, friendly staff and easy to find location. The city screwed them by putting in a bike lane on their street, making on street parking impossible, but there is a garage across the street.
Ive been coming here since I was 4 Im now 29, but the staff is a hit or miss some are rude some are nice but it really sucks being a customer and have someone being rude to you. They have a great selection but the prices are not a bargain more on the expensive side and I recommend not trading in your stuff here you wont get much. I still occasionally go inside but they need a lesson in hospitality!Update: Will not be coming back!
This was an interesting find with nice selection, multiple floors, and a neat vibe. While the no bag policy (including purses) makes sense to deter theft, it also was moderately off-putting to see so many signs after each corner. Fortunately, the gentlemen on the first floor was more than happy to allow us to store ours with him while we browsed through the store.Prices seemed competitive for some items, and too pricey for others.
What more can be said about Eides a true Pittsburgh institution and must see .. Way more than a comic book store .....multiple floors of DVDs,games , LPs , rare weird books you name it. Amazing posters for sale also. I have been visiting since the early 80s. Don’t be scared off by their famous list of rules they just don’t want people wandering around spilling their lattes on the merch while yakking on their phones. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable.
I walked in on random while I was in Pittsburgh for a conference. It could not have been more awesome. Floors of records, books and comics. A staff that was friendly and knowledgeable, and a great selection of used sci fi books (my favorite!). I got so much stuff that they had to ship it home for me, and they were incredibly helpful through the whole process. The books were packed with great care, and they even wrote a thank you note! I wish I lived in the area, I would shop there all the time. There are not enough stars for my positive experience. MANY THANKS!
Such a great little comic store! Lots of merchandise, both old and new, and theres stuff inside to satisfy geeks of any nature. Downstairs is a veritable treasure trove of old comic books, action figures, almost anything imaginable. Prices are usually very fair and the staff is very helpful if engaged. Definitely a place to check out if youre looking for any kind of comic relate material.
Eides is just such a staple of the strip district. Ive been going there for years for their comic books and records. One whole floor in the basement is dedicated to comic books while the entry floor is new comics. The third floor is all music and the fourth floor I believe is still record players and whatnot. The basement level also has vintage toys pertaining to comics and movies. What a great shop. Im glad we have it.
One of my favorite stores to visit in all of Pittsburgh.Their selection of everything from comics, movies (all the way back to VHS), toys, music etc etc is vast. Prepare to be overwhelmed on your first trip. You can seriously find almost any comic book or movie (even rarities) here and the prices are fine.Only real issue is the occasionally rude staff who will sometimes treat you like youre inconveniencing them by coming into their store.
Our brief visit left an extremely positive impression. Their was a large selection to peruse, with more downstairs (though we didnt make it that far). I was just passing by with my pre-school child and was hesitant to stop with kid in tow, but the staff were great about it and really made both of us feel welcome in our brief visit. I look forward to returning when I have more time.
While the selection is obviously gigantic, the customer service was non existent. Yes, it is definitely an awesome experience to walk in and be floored as you see comic books upon comic books, the most Ive ever seen in one place, as well as all the action figures I had as a kid in their original boxes. What made me leave Eides with a bitter taste in my mouth was the way I was spoken to while there. The two guys downstairs behind their desks couldnt have cared less that I was there, and when I (a noob in the vast world of comics) tried to ask questions showing my interest, trying to get a feel for what a good series was to get into, I was answered with maybe 4 words, no eye contact. Rolling their eyes as I pulled out my card to pay instead of cash. They were just very short, mildly rude, and completely not what I would have expected from a place that apparently has so much to offer.Listen, I can buy a comic book online if I want to. Its 2013. What I go to a comic book store for is the experience, to be surrounded with material and (hopefully) people that share common interests with you that you could converse with. Stop in, check out their massive collection, and leave. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Phantom of the Attic in Oakland over this place. The comic store as well as the gaming store are both superb, with employees that are engaging and make the experience all the better. Never going back to Eides again.
Eides is a staple of downtown Pittsburgh. 3 floors of awesome stuff from cds, vinyl, comics, magazines, collectibles and a lot more. This was my go to spot years ago for punk and metal albums. Definitely worth stopping in. You could literally spend hours looking through their inventory.
Their selection is fantastic and hard to beat but the costumer service is severely lacking. The workers seem annoyed by all costumer questions and many times when I go I have to hear them complain about other customers. The cashiers complain when you use credit cards, and Ive had this done straight to my face. The comic business is tough and its hard to make money in it, but most other stores Ive seen try to buy good will off returning customers by at least pretending to be friendly. Ill only go here if I know I cant get what Im looking for somewhere else.
This place has a great selection of comics, records, and used books. Typically they are fairly friendly, depending on whos working that day. I would give them more stars, but the last time I called to ask about a new comic release they were short, rude, and hung up on me. Customer service leaves much to be desired.
This is my favorite store in the downtown Pittsburgh area, hands down. There are multiple floors full of movies, comic books, music, toys, and anything else you can think of. I snagged a copy of the movie Clerks on laser disc as a collectors item for $1 - Half Price Books would charge $10 or more for that easily. They even had a CD I had been searching out by the band Failure for cheap, and some obscure movies I had been looking for.
So I visited this shop and wow it is huge and the stock goes deep. Multiple copies of many key books. Accurately graded properly priced for a comic shop. Allow me to explain what I mean by that. This is NOT a bargain comic shop. You wont find key books hidden that they forgot about. You will pay the market going price on key books. Thats not a bad thing. Comic shops are independent small businesses. They have to get the money when they can on what they can. Now as a super positive they will without a doubt have that hard to find key issue. From the new hipster/speculator got to have deadpool/harley/flavor of the month to the truly rare book that even hardcore collectors have never laid eyes on. I was seriously impressed with the basement floor and I barely scratched the surface. I was there a hour and didnt even leave the basement. There are 4 floors to this store. The other floors contain mostly albums (again I didnt see it but someone with us did and he was equally impressed with their selection) and Action figures. Another person with us went up there and again said he barely scratched the surface. If youre a collector then this is a shop not to miss. The only negative I had was the overall comic book guy feel to the place. The staff were not rude they just werent friendly. I had to lay heavy comic nerd knowledge down before the person checking me out livened up a little. The shop isnt in the best part of town. There was a homeless guy with Nike Airs on and a galaxy s7 panhandling out front so they may be a bit jaded but I could have just caught the staff of 5 on the wrong day.
Great selection of comics, videos, and music! If you want any of the above in Pittsburgh , or your looking for that comic/band/show that is hard to find, there is a good selection here. It does have some urban policies like no change without purchase and bags are to be left up front. I dont like being called a thief because I have a bag, hence only 4 stars.
The store itself is pretty cool, its split into 3 levels the bottom floor is cards and etc the very top floor is CDs and thats what brought me into check the place out and their selection was not that great and they were pretty pricey for what they did have. There might be some hidden gems of records but if you want CDs I wouldnt go here.
The shop has a good supply of back issues, but the one thing that makes me not recommend this business to anyone, especially collectors, is that they put price tags on the actual comic book covers. That is a horrible practice. For those that dont have stickers on them, they write prices on the back.Whats worse is their practice of charging cover price for back issues. For these reasons, I can not recommend this business.
Was looking for 4 Flash books and they had them. I do not live anywhere close to their store, but I called and they gave me a great deal and shipped out the same day!!! Package arrived perfect!! They really know comics and how to properly ship them. The folks in the phone were incredibly polite and helpful! Thank you so much Eides Entertainment!!!!!
Took my youngest son there during our trip to Pittsburgh. We went in and the first floor was good. A lot of new comics, DVD/Blu-ray, tons of $1 comics. It wasn’t until we were about to leave when the guy behind the counter told us about the other THREE floors!! Basement was loaded with more figures and tons of comics. 2nd floor was full of movies. We found two movies we hadn’t been able to find anywhere else. 3rd floor was full of records, CDs and vinyl. We were also told the store had been there for 50 years. Amazing.Don’t miss this shop if you’re in the area!!!!
Words cant even describe how great this store is. All the people who work here are exrta friendly. It feels like home and i have yet to go to a comic/media store that made me feel like Eides has. I see why people put this on their list of places to stop when in Pittsburgh.
I drive into Pittsburg from Columbus, OH from time to time to visit this store. The best store I have ever been to for Comic Books, Action figures, Movies, Music, or just cool Stuff. My kids always look forward to the trip as well. If you are looking for something hard to find or unique, then check these guys out!
Went in today with kids to introduce them to comics shops. The staff acted like it was an inconvenience to answer questions. When my three year old had to use the restroom, we were told he could go find a parking stall in the garage across the street. Most shops I go to realize customer service is the only reason they still exist. I wanted to get the back issues of Fight Club 2 at full price and show my kids how cool comic shops can be. Instead I was snubbed, ridiculed, and told to piss outside.I preordered Fight Club 2 on Amazon today.
I cannot say enough negative things about the staff at this place. They are rude and completely useless. The two basement staff in particular are 100% ridiculous. Ive gone in a few times and its always the same 2 working (a large women and her cohort both equally as pathetic). You walk downstairs and if you DARE ask them a question and interrupt whatever it is they are browsing on the internet (and its never job related computer work) you are met with short condescending answers.Dont get me started on the owner. He couldnt care less if you shop there or not. Ive met with him twice and its the same thing as all others. How DARE you ask them any questions. They are the reason why these types of stores get stereotyped. If i could give half stars I would. So in short. Shop somewhere else or use the internet. These guys sell at TOP ebay prices on EVERY item and you are then met with disgraceful service while you are doing it. Use amazon and ebay because you are sure paying amazon and ebay prices. And as a bonus buying online you do not have to deal with the horrible service that Eides staff offers you in return.
If youre looking for comics or records, and you want to be treated like garbage, then Eides is your place. Ive been here on three different occasions, and I havent been impressed with their customer service skills. During our last trip, my husband was told that his lower offer on a comic (in poor condition) wouldnt be considered because he was only spending a certain amount of money.I get it. Youre a small business and you have to make money. But to tell someone flat out, oh, youre only spending $xx? Then no, we cant do that. is just poor business practice. You would think that employees at a place like this would embrace customers who want to learn more about comic books or records. Not here. Helpfulness, kindness and sharing in excitement would keep me coming back, but unfortunately, I will not be back at Eides.
This is a go to stop for me whenever I am in Pittsburgh. Four floors of sweet nerd stuff; action figures, comic books, great selection of VHSs... VHSes...? I was actually able to look thought MULTIPLE The Cure posters on the top floor! Lost a star because a few of the shopkeepers are the most miserable people on earth. You would think they work in a puppy killing factory with their attitude.
Located where downtown Pittsburgh meets the strip district, Eides Entertainment has three full floors of quality new and used pop culture collectibles, records, dvdd, movie and concert posters, books, and comics. If you cant find it at Eides just ask them. The staff is happy to help. Parking available on street or in nearby paid parking lots.
They have everything you need to scratch your comic book itch and more. They have the recent releases shelf and an extensive back-issue section. Lastly, when I ask the people comics questions, the people behind the counter know what they are talking about; their fanboys & fangirls, just like you.
I have been going to this comic book shop for quite some time now. I can say that i always get a fair price on my purchases and the employees are very nice and helpful. I dont think that the people that work there are being properly portrayed through these reviews. I have always had helpful and kind interactions with them. I have witnessed them (at times) get peeved at some customers, but with good reason. When the filthy normie-causals go into the store and ask really stupid questions or an excess of them , the employees should get rather annoyed. They are there to run the store and are often very busy doing so. The occasional question about a product or the store is never met with hostility. However, when someone goes up to the counter and just bombards the workers with twenty questions about an issue of a comic book they should get agitated. If you want to know about the stuff dont be lazy , do your research before going into the store, dont blame the employees for your ignorance.(response to other reviews) Going in ther on free comic book day and expecting to get the first issue of spiderman to have the rino in it for free is your fault and you shouold be treated like a fool for thinking so. Not employees fault. Also, dont bring annoying three yeasr olds in there that ask a million stupid questions about stuff they dont understand. You would not go into a food store and ask the cashier to tell you about all the different types of oranges they sell and which ones are best kept at 12 degrees. One last thing, who writes a negative review about not being able to use the elevator? elevators in small stores like that are seldom for customer use. There are like twenty steps between each floor, if you cant mange that, maybe you should just not leave your house. Dont blame the employees for getting mad when somebody uses store equipment without asking. 10/10 ESTABLISHMENT
I used to like this place until I met the piece of trash who runs the place. For the first 20 minutes I was there, he followed me around stating at me like I was about to Rob the place even though my backpack was behind the front counter. I even heard him mention me to an employee and point at me when he thought I couldnt see him(or maybe knew I could) After some time perusing one of the book sections, the guy comes up to me and simply says Im wearing out my welcome and asks me If Im even going to buy anything. Needless to say, I dropped the stack of items I had planned to purchase and left. I wont be back again. The cashiers are great guys but the boss or owner or whatever is apparently as holier than Ill ever be so he can keep his comics to himself and Ill keep my money. I dont see how someone can build a successful business around the notion that its okay to treat the customers who fuel his store as if they werent even people worthy of respect.
Im a mild comic book fan. I originally (and still) visit Eides for the music ten years ago. However as time has gone on, their music selection has waned (and prices have risen). However they now have a great selection of books...and tons of comics and action figures of course. Four levels of stuff. Definitely enough to keep you occupied for several hours. For music, I give Eides three stars...even two maybe. But theyre huge selection of comics and related memorabilia sort of trumps that.
Most authoritative comic store in the city of Pittsburgh. Guys can be a bit Comic Book Guyish, but its a comic book store, what do you want? All you need to know; you want the newest volume of Saga? They got it. You want to flesh out your New Universe or Vanth Dreadstar collections? They got what you need. They even have what people expect out of comic stores these days, i.e.; memorabilia, collectibles, music, dvds/blu ray, and video games.
Came across this terrific shop with a great selection of music including some nice vintage lps from the 60s and 70s. If your looking for the obscure, this is the place to be. Comics....All I can say is WOW!! Found an old Spiderman for a fair price. Ive seen it higher at shows. This will be a goto spot the next visit to PGH
As soon as I walked in I was not greeted like every other shop I go travel to. The cashier (older man) flirting with older female I thought just a wife visiting or something just ignoring me as I stood there waiting to see how long he breaks away from unrelated job task of hitting on someone. took about 4 minutes. Then his answer was unsure but Look over there and right back to the girl. Untill her actual husband came over and purchased his books. As I was browsing I did notice a Large selection of books and neat displays and then a LARGE man came out and started screaming at the Romeo that stuff wasnt finished, etc, etc. On the way out I stopped to ask on other information and I got very condecending remarks with no eye contact from workers and just over all poor customer service. Not a store that should be in business if those are the people they have working. Need younger, more polite staffing.
Great music, video and comics/books selections/very near everything downtown/3 story building with basement too/across from Greyhound Bus Station/very close to Pittsburgh Convention Center,Amtrak Station &Port Authority Busway/pays fair market value for some things/doesnt buy too many music CDs, likes heavy metal best/nice selection of vinyl records/quite a big selection of comics/magazines/big selection of DVDs/Blu-rays, some VHS/also buys and sells some collectibles, especially comic/superhero related

2022-04-11Dope place. Chill vibes with A LOT of comics and good prices. Some very unique and vintage pick-ups I managed to find. The pictures I posted are just a fraction of what I snagged. They have a variety of different collectibles, not just comics so check it out if you’re a geek like me and you’re in the area.

2022-08-07I was surprised to find such a nice stire for comics and DVDs and collectables. They have the store nicely organized with their 4 floors. And they have a wide variety of prices, for instance they have used comics starting at $1 ang going up for the better quality and higher grade comics.Besides comics they have records and DVDs and posters, etc.

2022-08-06This was a very nice store for comics, movies, etc. I didnt expect it to be 4 floors. It has been a long time since seeing a comic store that had a large selection of older comics. They had a large collection of comics at different prices, depending on their quality and what the issues were. They had prices from $1 and higher.

2022-06-09Ever since new ownership has taken over after Greg Eide passed away, the vibe of the store is way more relaxed. The employees can be gruff, but they genuinely love what they do.Ive found so many cool treasures here. I love this place!

2022-08-05This is THE classic Pittsburgh collectible store. I try to go there every time I go to Pittsburgh. They have a deep comic and movie collection including posters, toys, books, records, CDs, everything! I can always find the classic Marvel horror comics Im looking for and invariably I find something that I didnt know existed. Shopping is separated into floors depending on what youre looking for. Their collection of horror movie mags draws me like a forbidden star! My wallet is the only victim.

2022-04-05Good selection of comics, and used trades. Occasionally things would have a strangely high markup, but overall a good visit. Especially if you like searching for single issues you might not have.

2022-04-23Best comic shop in The Burgh. And maybe the planet. Amazing back-issue inventory! Its rare that I cant find some specific but obscure book Im for looking for. The staff knows their stuff!

2022-04-04Awesome comic book shop! 3 floors of comics! Fewer toys, but some really cool vintage horror stuff, some collectable village pieces. Lots of movies, records, CDs... They even have snacks and beverages! Something for everyone at this shop.

2022-07-19Eides is an awesome place to visit if you love any kind of media. They have 4 floors, each focusing on either DVDs, BluRay, comic books, collectibles, CDs, and records. When I was there, their videogame selection was very small, but it wasnt disappointing in the slightest considering how much of everything else they had. If youre a nerd, youll love this place.

2019-11-08Three levels. Absolutely massive selection. The volume of product in the store is incredible. Huge oversized section of $1 loose unsorted comic books from the 80s and 90s on the main level. Lower level has a very complete and very extensive back issue collection. They seem to have absolutely everything. Upstairs has a very respectable vinyl selection but you won’t necessarily find any bargains over other stores prices for new LPs. This is the kind of place if you are visiting from out of town reserve a minimum of an hour so you can relax and explore provided the main owner will stop asking you questions every five minutes!!!
