Gorgeous property! Would like to tour the house, will have to return after COVID.
Fascinating tour of former President Eisenhowers farm in Gettysburg. Drop on by when youre in town. House has A/C, so you can cool off for a while.
Simply amazing. Like stepping back in time to when the Eisenhowers were still living there. You must set aside the time to go and visit when you are Gettysburg. You have to get tickets out at the visitor center and take a bus shuttle over to the farm, but it well worth it. Allow yourself enough time to take it all in. Great way to spend a few hours in Gettysburg. The shuttle bus was clean and comfortable with a friendly driver. Our tour guides were both very knowledgeable about all aspects of the property and fun facts about the sites history.
This was a great place to visit the price was ok $ 9.oo to see and visit this a great place you can see and learn a lot here this place is so nice clean. This a must visit for all history buffs.
Lovely & peaceful grounds and vistas with an interesting place in history. President Eisenhower hosted international leaders such as DeGaulle and Khrushchev.
Very cool and unique experience. The house is preserved to what it looked like when the family lived here, which is a rare sight at this day in age. It’s only accessible by purchasing tickets at the visitor center and taking the bus that runs every half hour to and from
Really interesting site that I didnt even know about before coming to Gettysburg. Very informative staff and not a lot of people so you were really able to get all of your questions answered. Interesting historical site that showcases what type of person and president Ike was. Totally a recommendation for anyone who likes history! Also... You can get TWO junior ranger badges here!
Loved it! Interesting. The guide was great, very knowledgeable and able to answer many questions. I learned a lot about Eisenhower that day. The property is beautiful and reconstructed to look as it did when Eisenhower lived there.
The house really is amazingly preserved and is like you stepped out of the 1950s or 1960s. I would say this tour is probably best for older adults or teens (not to say kids cant come) just that there are a lot of things that cant be touched and also that children or young adults may not understand. I learned a TON on this tour from the Rangers but keep in mind this is a self guided tour when you go. A shuttle takes you over from the visitor center and will come back every hour on the hour so you can stay as long as you choose on the grounds. House tours start up every 20 mins so and basically you get an extensive intro and guide to the house then you go through the house yourself. There are a lot of stairs and walking. And while not required, there are a TON of structures (Pres. Eisenhower raised beef cattle) on the grounds so again you might be walking a lot. I only mention this because it was incredibly hot when we went and we did not realize how much of the tour would be outside. Well worth the trip! Hope this helps!
Visited Gettysburg battle field as surprised to learn President Eisenhower had a farm home there. The house is conserved in it original state .

Awesome place to go and experience if your in the Gettysburg area. Deffently recommend going there. Note the house itself is not handicap accessible and I wouldnt not recommend going if you can not climb stairs.

It was very pretty farmland but I felt like I was trespassing. It it wasnt for the parking signs, I would have turned away. I dont think the house is open to visit as the nps website says its closed due to Covid. So we got there, but didnt get to see anything. Still a very nice property you can walk around.
We just happened to be near Gettysburg. So we stop to see Eisenhower National Historic Home. Its was little rainy. But was very interesting, the inside was closed.just walk around the outside building.took sum pictures. Ill be back when they open the inside.
Ive been visiting Gettysburg since I was a baby and this is the first trip I actively remember visiting this historic location. There may be paid opportunities but we enjoyed a free walk around the grounds and it was well worth it. Beautiful and spacious.
They talk about Eisenhowers house and grounds before entering. Witch was a nice experience.

Really neat and very helpful guides. The guide John is one of the more easygoing and very patient guides I have spoken to. Great for father son time. Definitely recommend for the person you love who enjoys hands-on history

One of the best historic home I have been too. Not only is the setting beautiful but the house and it’s guide book are still so full of love.It is relatable and real with enough information to keep high schoolers + up engaged and enough to look out for younger students too.For the young ones think about getting the junior secret service bagde that is there to add to any other junior ranger badges they may already have (or make it the first of a cool collection)
The history . The location. The beauty of this place still! Its amazing. We couldnt go in which would have been even more incredible but walking the grounds, peaking in the garage. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Will add photos later as my phone was dead and charging so all my pics are on my Canon camera. Just visit this place, youll love it.
Neat place. Guides are knowledgeable and informative. Worth a couple hour detour. We got stuck n the barn during an absolute DOWNPOUR. Worth the trip!
This is a nice National Historic Site. I went here while I was in Gettysburg and was satisfied with my experience. I drove up to here and parked in the site’s Peking lot. I walked around the rancher’s house and up to the stables where Eisenhower kept his cows. After I did that, I walked around Eisenhower’s house, which looked very nice. Normally there are tours of Eisenhower’s house you can go on, but those weren’t happening when I was here because of COVID. I walked in his putting green and read all of the interpretive signs at this site, which were very informative. After I walked around Eisenhower’s house, I left the site, satisfied with my experience. I gave this National Historic Site five stars because it has informative signs and a nice house. I’d come here again when torus are available because the house seems interesting.
This place is surreal! There was not one other person here when we were. We had the entire property to ourselves. My grandmother is an Eisenhower and growing up in Abilene KS and sharing a birthday with the president has always made him something special to me. It was incredible to be here. I even approached the doorway and touched the doorknob knowing that at some point Ike himself opened this door!

Beautiful property, yet very disappointed the house was closed to tours. Surely, at this time, wearing masks is a sufficient COVID-19 prevention method rather than locking the public out!

A very wonderful experience. We had a ranger take the time to give us the history of the main house. Looking forward to being able to go inside when they reopen it. They are doing hvac work on it.

Care to visit the former home of the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces during WWII, and the 34th President of the United States? Dont bother. You probably wont find it. My GPS brought me to a gate which said authorized vehicles only. So I went to the information center at the national park. They gave me a useless map, and directions which were supposed to lead me to an unpaved road leading to guest parking for the farm. Nothing on the road is marked for directions, and there are several unpaved roads to choose from. I wasted an entire day.

Service was fast. Food was ok. Beer was great. The peanut butter pie dessert was great. My Boo Boo Burger came with pulled pork in their famous BBQ sauce, only there was no sauce. Waitress was out of site for so long I just ate it anyway. Very friendly staff.
A trip to Gettysburg is not complete without visiting the Eisenhower site. The farm is well maintained, and I am eager to visit again when the house is reopened to the public.
I was never there before till today. Ive lived in Central PA all my life, been to the Battlefield hundreds of times and never went to the farm. Crazy huh? Worth the trip! Beautiful place!
Beautiful and interesting. The farm is well taken care of (though the farmhouse is currently closed to the public due to COVID). We met some wonderful rangers who really brought to life Ikes career and days both on and off the farm.
Ranger was excellent on the knowledge of the Eisenhower family . walking the grounds was easy. Enjoyed the leisurely time spent there.
This cant be rated less than five stars in honor of a great five star general and a very decent and honorable person.These photos were taken while the buildings are closed because of the virus but grounds are open to drive in.I think you can see what a beautiful location the President and Mamie chose for the only home they ever owned.
We werent able to see too much as we arrived 20 minutes prior to closing, but the homestead is beautifully isolated and scenic. The information signs were very interesting and told of a more personable side of the presidency.
Although there are no NPS tours, you can walk the grounds. We had a very nice picnic.
I enjoyed stepping into the past. It is a beautiful property. Im so glad I live in the present... no air conditioning in the house. There is air conditioning in the gift shop. Additionally, there is quite a bit of walking you can do if you desire. The bus tour is as long as you want to make it. You are not required to leave with the group you arrived with as long as you leave before the last bus of the day.
Leave enough time to get to the 2nd farm. We ran out of time after 90 minutes. This is a great piece of history and nice to experience it in most of our original glory. The guides were a wealth of information and had cool stories to tell about some items in the house. There are many areas of of the house too so make sure to experience it all.
Definitely worth a quick stop while youre in Gettysburg. The house isnt open right now but the grounds are well worth a quick walk around.
Good tour of the Eisenhower farm- purchase tickets at the visitor center (currently in July 2021 this is closed for renovations so you can drive there and walk temporarily)
The staff clearly have a passion for the legacy. Its worth the extra to go see.
I really enjoyed this tour - but for the non traditional reasons. The history and significance of the location is intriguing and engaging. But I was having (personal) flashbacks to my grandmothers home while touring this house. I couldnt shake the sense of familiarity and all of the triggering memories it raised. The old basin sinks, the cozy rooms, the neat and tidy arrangements. I was fascinated and enthralled. The grounds are lovely and you could stroll for hours around the property.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic the buildings are closed. My son and I walked the grounds and got some sense of what it was like when President Eisenhower lived there. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, the buildings will reopen to the public.
Cant enter home itself. Ranger was pleasant and informative but lost a lot not being able to see inside.

Im glad we decided to take a tour of this house. You have to buy your tickets at the historical center. They are time stamped and you take a bus to see the property. They do guided tours of the house and they give you quite a bit of history. After you see the house, walk around the property and look at everything. We enjoyed our visit to the Eisenhower house. The staff was friendly.

We enjoyed stopping by here. A little out of the way overall, but interesting to look at and learn a bit about a president that history doesnt often discuss. Home is also a fun look into the 1950s, which is modern in comparison to many Presidential homes, it still very dated.
Visited in March so we were able to drive up to the place. In busy season you have to buy a ticket and take a bus. You get to see inside during the season, but a wonderful quiet walk on the grounds mostly by yourself in March.
Would have loved to have visited here but our national park pass was not honored notwithstanding this site is overseen by the National Parks Service! The old woman at the ticket counter smugly stated that the shuttle fees of $36 for the four of us were how they made all their money and that nothing is free.Gee lady, we paid $80 for a yearly pass for four thats honored at every single national park in America (including shuttle buses) except for THIS one so its not like were asking for a handout! Add in that were a military family! Sorry Ike, we love you but very clear that a small segment of the National Parks Service are greedily exploiting your legacy and stabbing military families in the back. What a disgusting shame....
This place helped me to realize that Mamie Eisenhower is an absolute hero. If you want to find out why, visit this house!This was a part of my visit to Gettysburg. Tickets for the shuttle are available inside the main visitor center at Gettysburg and do cost $9 per person, but its so worth it to go. You get a guided tour of the estate and the house as well as some time to explore on your own. Its especially cool because its still a working farm!This was a really special visit to my love and I because this is a much more recent historical site than we usually go to. Taking the time to see the Eisenhowers home life was a great way to sharpen our understanding of his presidency. Its well worth the cost and the people who work and volunteer here are so passionate that youll find yourself getting caught up in it too.Make sure you give yourself time to go while visiting Gettysburg. You wont regret it.
This was worth every penny. $9. Cost. Bus ride over, short talk and then your own time walk through Eisenhowers home. Just beautiful. Walk the grounds if you wish. I think a must see.
Very nice scenery and preservation. You take a bus shuttle to the site then have a brief tour that gives you an overview of the location/history of the farm plus a tour inside the farm house. Then you get to roam the property at your leisure. Recommend going first thing in the morning as it is less crowded and you have the property to yourself until the next tour group arrives.
The tour was very brief, but you are allowed to complete a self guided tour. There is a nice junior ranger program for the kids. Our family enjoyed the farm history at Farm 2.
Definitely a must see when in Gettysburg! Purchase tickets at visitor center, inexpensive to see, and you ride a special bus over. Make sure you use the restroom before you board the bus and have bottled water.
This is a great place to visit. Bring your children and teach them some history. Its a beautiful place with some secrets (look in the garage) lol. Check it out.
A must visit when going to Gettysburg. See how the Eisenhowers lived. The house is exactly as it was during their lifetime. It is a self guided tour after a brief introduction in the living room. You learn a lot including that Mamie loved the color pink. Take time to walk the farm. Make sure to get your tickets at the main center and you get the bus from there too.

Truly one of the best National Park units there is! This property, which belonged to US President Eisenhower, is absolutely stunning, filled both with historical items and culture of one of Americas Presidents. Upon arriving (must pay upwards of $9 per person to take a bus from Gettysburg Visitor Center due to no parking on the premises) youll be given a brief talk about this history and nature of this specific park. After entering the house, a knowledgable individual will talk about the significance of what artifacts lie within the room (see pictures for what that entails). After that talk, visitors are set free to walk around the massive property (minus one star because visitors only have an hour and a half to tour the entire complex, otherwise they have to wait a few more hours for the next bus to arrive). The property is, like I said, massive! Its full of beautiful buildings and farming equipment, enough to keep almost anyone entertained and intrigued their entire time at the park. Overall, this is a definite must-visit!
People forgot that this is next to Gettysburg National Park, this is someones home and it is nice visit to complement your visit to Gettysburg. I think we spent 3 hours here, which is kind of amazing given that it is essentially walking through a house. The old time vehicles are great. There was a ranger talk on a certain period of Eisenhowers life, which was excellent. Great presentation. You buy your ticket at the Gettysburg National Park and you ride a bus over. There is no cafe here. Restrooms are somewhat old. I might come back with different family members, but not just by myself.
Fascinating exhibit of Ikes life, as a military hero, the president and as a gentleman farmer. I was greatly impressed by the simplicity of his home, the glassed in porch where he and Mamie would eat dinner off of TV trays. I loved his tiny office where there was barely room for two people - and imagined Ike and Khrushchev talking there. What history!
I just had my second visit to the Eisenhower home and loved it all over again! If you know anything at all about this incredible and revered former president, youll want to visit his farm--the only home they ever owned.
Loved our visit here! Unlike other presidential homes with many off-limits rooms and spaces, this one was generous in showing most of the houses interior. The fixtures are expectedly more modern and were carefully selected to reflect the taste and sensibilities of the Eisenhowers. The show barn at the far end of the property was also neat. There is a small photo gallery and gift shop by the entrance, which I hope they expand to include more exhibits on the President and his family.Tickets can be bought at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. From there, a bus takes you to the property. We got the 2:00 PM bus and were back at the Visitor Center a little past 4:00 PM.
The house needs to be opened back up to the public. It was exciting though, to know that we walked the same pathways that this great American hero walked.
Ive been to the battlefield several times, but never to the Farm. It was a most interesting place--very homey. Their history is amazing. What lives they led!
Loved the tour of President Eisenhowers home. Felt they would walk right in and ask us for tea. They were just down to earth people. Their furnishings and displays were great.
Visited for WWII days and everyone there was just amazing. ALL the reenactors are so gracious when speaking with the public. I am forever grateful for those who are keeping this important era of history alive.

Great part of the Park Service and youre given a firsthand tour of part of the house and its history. Very fascinating. I would recommend to anyone interested in that era or learning more about the Eisenhowers.

Love the site, just hate having to be tied down to the bus schedule. Could spend hours here exploring the grounds and the farm. Most people overlook the park because theyre all into the gettysburg experience, but theyre forgetting that history was shaped in gettysburg not just by the civil war, but by the man who lived and governed here nearly 100 years later.

The place is so beautiful and well worth the money for admission. I went there after a weekend trip visiting Gettysburg National Park, and it was the perfect way to end the weekend minus all the pink
I visted the John Eisenhower Bridge or Suicide Bridge as its known for. If your into the paranormal this is a hit spot for activity. Late at night is the best time to visit it as it can get quite crowded.
House was under renovation so we could only wander the grounds. Nice and peaceful location.
In Gettysburg area. Need to take the tour of Gettysburg to visit Eisenhowers Estate. Cant get there any other way.. Eisenhower was President when I grew up. I had much respect for him.

Youre in Gettysburg. Battlefields and history everywhere. So much to see and learn and process that its easy to overlook this site. The retirement home of a president. Ive never felt such a personal connection to a president than after visiting this unpretentious house.Seeing the knick knacks they collected or where they shared t.v. dinners while watching actually watching t.v. really brings some personal context to Ike and Mamie. If its a choice between the Eisenhower house or the driving tour or spending time at Little Round Top, Devils Den or the Angle then its hard to justify a visit but, if you have 2 hours after the battlefield it is worth every minute.

I visit Eisenhower’s Gettysburg home every spring with 120 8th grade students. The home, grounds, staff, etc., are all incredible. I highly recommend!
This was my 7th visit to Eisenhower Farm. By far my favorite tour in Gettysburg. We live in the area and often take our out of town guests.

Educational.. Jr Ranger program rocks. BUT DO NOT go straight to the house following the signs. You have to get on a bus (with a purchased ticket) from the Gettysburg Battlefield Visitors Center. and the website is a little behind, they now give out standard JR badges instead of Secret Service Badges.

The shitiest place to go camping , dirty, loud ,expensive! Who wants to go camping and have to pay 60$ to put up a tint? Also got beer bottles broken eveywhere and the staff is rude. Dont get any sort of citation because you will have to pay THE MAXIMUM fine of whatever Citation you got, I guess they dont make enough money taking people so they charge maximum price.

It was cool to see a former presidents vacation home but u cant go to much inside to the secret service office and its not really a historic house of Gettysburg
Before you go learn as much as you can about these two remarkable people. Take the walking tour in Gettysburg of where the Eishowers lived while Ike was stationed there during WW1, where his post-presidential office is located on the Gettysburg College campus & the church he & Mamie attended. All this will help bring the farm to life. Walk back to the barns & leave time to investigate the book store.

It was pretty neat to see the home of a former president. It shows that they are people too, but their job is to protect and lead our country. Also, I thought it was cool to sit on the lawn ;)
Great and informative, very hot and humid and no indoor access.
Nasty hotel. Something red on the side of the bed. Court yards outside sliding door of hotel room over grown. Workout room had three machines that’s don’t work right. For check out no one was at front desk some guy in an office told us to go to the hotel next door to checkout. The lady at hotel next door looked confused but took our keycard and info.
Only the gardens are open...still a treat!

You get to see Eisenhowers Farm, which includes his house with his furnishings still in there. In the garage is his cars. Putting green in th back yard. Its an amazing place to visit.

Very friendly staff and the place is kept up well. I highly recommend taking the tour (half is guided and half is self-guided.) This a great stop for tourists!

Very historical on the inside and outside. There are cattle farms here and you can see the old presidential car. There are a lot of golf carts in the garage

This unique attraction quite often overshadowed by the adjacent battlefield allows one to delve into the personal life of President Eisenhower, and experience his forays outside of the White House.

Park Rangers drone on a bit too long...trying to be comical...was boring. House is great but seems like too many people allowed in at one time...was stuffy and claustrophobic.

The cool thing about this site is that the whole thing is like a time capsule from the fifties. You can even open a linen closet and see what their towels and sheets looked like.

Very cool historic place! Great destination to add to a Gettysburg visit, and well worth the time.
We were turned away because we did not come on a bus tour. We found no information on the web site indicating that the only way to access this historic site was through a tour bus.
Eisenhower was the first president of my life spanning 8 years. Standing in his house with Mamie overwhelmed me.
Closed during the pandemic but you can still wander the grounds. Interesting history.

2022-06-23Stunning scenery at his home and farm. So much history that has been forgotten along with how personable President Eisenhower was.Grounds are kept up well as you can see in the photos. You would think he would come out and greet you to show you around. There is a guided tour of the house every hour. We skipped it this time to walk around the place.So much to see, you get lost looking at it all. You can see some of the cars and farm equipment he used when he lived there. You can learm about his award winning cattle and how he helped progress farming here.Parking is limited, so if full, it may be hard to stop by. There is a shuttle, but that costs a few dollars to take. If you can, plan an hour or so to see everything. It is a great stopping place to get away from Gettysburgs crowds for a bit and relax.

2022-05-04Eisenhowers farm is closed at this time because of covid and a shortage of workers. I drove to the house and peaked in the garage where his cars are. I saw the putting green and walked around the outside of the house. He had a windmill next to the house. The farm land was very well maintained. I didnt see any livestock.

2021-07-28It was very timely that the historic house was open. You become very familiar with one of the greatest presidents in modern Era. The only hindrance is that you are bound by the bus schedule from the Gettysburg Visitors center. Though, the drivers and hosts are very nice and informative. Would have loved to see inside his cars, esp the Presidential limousine. Got several good pics of the rooms.

2022-06-23We drove our own vehicle instead of taking the bus from the visitor center. Only about 30 or so people can enter the house at 1 time so we did have to wait as people taking the bus have priority due to a tighter schedule. We were able to start our tour about 10 minutes after the bus riders. The upside is there were fewer people who drove themselves so our group was smaller. Most everything in the house is original to the Eisenhower family, it was like a 1950s time capsule! It is a very serene area so I can see why the family chose this spot to retire. It is free to tour the property but if you take the bus you have to purchase a ticket for the bus ride at the battlefield visitor center.

2022-04-15This was a great place to wander. I give it 4 stars because the house was closed. As I understand it though, it was under some restoration and conservation work inside. The normal tours will begin again at the end of May 2022. Going to have to come back

2022-06-13Beautiful farm and an interesting story. A must see if you are in Gettysburg. Tip: try to park at the farm before taking the $9 shuttle to the site. We tried, and were successful at parking at the farm....$18 saved!
