Enterprise Rent-A-Car in other cities:
Had a death in the family and needed a car price was fair untill all the fees were their it was a holiday weekend and my wife called and was told we could return on Sunday.. That was a lie.. I was told in the store I could as well I ended up leaving to find another rental but none were available so I went back to the store and proceeded to get a rental.. It was at this point I was told I had to rent the car an extra day because they were closed on Sunday.. I asked why I was told I could return it on that day as my wife had called and was told the same thing.. It was at this point I had no choice but to pay for an extra day that I did not need or want.. I even asked about a drop box and it was explained to me that even though they had a drop box I would still be charged the extra day because no one would be their.. I even called the manager out on what she had told me.. If I had another choice and a better deal I would have taken it..i dont know the ladys name but she did say she was the manager. The whole experience was not pleasant especially dealing with someone like that. The other employees were easy to get along.. Now after I rented the car my pick up was the next day I told them I would need it by 10am so I could leave by noon this did not happen the car was not ready untill 1130 and put me behind on my trip.. Being combined with the issues I had I still took the car to get it washed waxed and cleaned.. If I had my choice and unless I had to I would not rent a car again
Overall a fantastic experience. After not finding a single car to rent in State College, when the one I booked online months prior to my trip was not available from another agency, I was able to rent one from Enterprise in Altoona. I received a call within a 1/2 hour of booking online to let me know when the next car would be available. Brianna was extremely pleasant and answered all my questions. I received a follow up call to check if I needed any further assistance a day after I picked up the car. I highly recommend Enterprise in Altoona, PA after this experience.
Matt is awesome I have rented cars from Enterprise 12+ times then I had ASHLEY she said she was the manager not very professional so I dont know how she could possibly be, she wouldnt let me use my Visa debit card because the customer she took in front of me had a major credit card and they only had one SUV left and she didnt realize until she looked in to the metal box on the wall at the keys so she said. She had me sit and wait anyway so not sure what her motive was that day anyway, but I could definitely tell she was having a bad day or hates her job.so she was going to take him over me not in those words but thats what she did when I asked her why she said Im the manager I can do whatever I want to. Needless to say I said thanks for nothing and walked out. Matt is amazing though he was able to help me every other time and used my card with him that ASHLEY denied to take from my hand when she realized what she had done by taking one of her regulars in front of me with a credit card. I dont have to use a credit card to rent a car but I would have if this was not the scenario all she had to do was ask but she made a mistake and I just feel no one should be treated as such
We rented a vehicle from them June 2020. When we arrived they told us that the car we had rented needed to get an oil change so it was unavailable. Instead the only other option was a car that was $200 more which we were expected to pay. Then we took it to the car wash because of how filthy the car was. We found a decaying bird under the running boards which we had to remove with our hands. During the drive we found old French fries and a pack of old cigarettes under the seats. We tried contacting them about this issue right after it happened and have not heard from them to this day. I do not recommend them at all you’re better off hitchhiking.
I reserved a car online to be picked up at 3 PM got a email confirmation confirming my order I got there and they told me they have no cars available said they tried to call me one time never left a voicemail or tried to call back to actually talk to me it was six or seven hours later plenty of time to reach me Extremely disappointed
Conveniently located just down the street from where my car was being repaired. Car selection was limited on the day we were there, but it was adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. If I ever need to rent a car again in Altoona, Pennsylvania, I will definitely go back to Enterprise!
The hidden fees and lack of info on the site is ridiculous. Had I known everything that was needed ahead of time, I could have gotten it accomplished. Instead, they tell me at the very end of the interaction that I need a 200 dollar deposit using a credit or debit card. Altogether with the rental, deposit and insurance, I need $295. Which would be fine had I known that before having a friend drop me off before she had to go to work. I live in Tyrone. So I pretty much ended up stranded with no rental car due to lack of info or a phone call. Thank god for Uber.
I was pleased with the vehicle in itself, but, the hidden charges, and the outrageous cost of the additional day I added really was disappointed considering the amount of money I spent on the rental. The whole ordeal of just simply trying to add an additional day or find out if it would have been cheaper to make it a weekly rental, what a pain! Make that an easier process in the app or on the website please. All in all, a great car, friendly staff, and pleasant location!
I found myself in a crisis away from home with mechanical issues to my own car.I made a last minute reservation online and received a phone call from Melissa of Altoona Enterprise assuring me that I had a car available. Once I arrived at the store, Melissa greeted me and offered me larger vehicle and the flexibility to extend my contract if needed. She also offered me ride back to the mechanics location after my car was repaired to avoid any additional costs. Amazing Customer Service! Thank you Enterprise!!!
Altoona was a bit slow on the pick-up end of getting the rental. They did give me an upgrade ( positive note for them) car was in great shape but wasn’t cleaned between uses it was used to pickup another customer. The staff in Auburn, Maine were great. Quick check in and explained everything to me
First off, a 3-1/2 star rating would probably be more accurate, but thats not an option. We rented a vehicle for a trip from PA to AL. The first issue was with the satellite radio. Every time we turned the vehicle off, the XM radio would stop working. I think we called 4-5 times to have refresh signals sent. Eventually we stopped calling because of the other issues we began experiencing. While in AL we experienced mechanical issues with our vehicle. A Google search revealed that it was a common problem on this particular vehicle. I spent hours on my phone calling the branch I rented from, Roadside Assistance, other local branches (trying to find a vehicle to swap out), and even a local Nissan dealer to get info on the issue. Im not upset that the vehicle had issues; that happens. My frustration was that no one at the branch or with Roadside Assistance took charge and got everything straightened out. I had to keep calling and re-explaining the situation only to be told that I had to call someone else. I wanted someone to take the bull by the horns and get it resolved.Ultimately, the branch that I rented from did find another vehicle for me. That local dealer made all the arrangements to swap vehicles and we made it home safe and sound. Every person I spoke to was always pleasant and kind (despite my frustration), and we did receive a nice discount for our troubles. I would not hesitate to rent from Enterprise again because ultimately, if they didnt have such a large network of dealers (and great roadside assistance), this could have been a much worse experience.
I was supposed to pick up a car at 7:30. I booked it in their website the evening before. I arrived at 7:45 and they told me they didn’t have a car for me. No apology or anything they just said they are busy on Monday mornings. I was renting a car because I needed it to go to an appointment in Pittsburgh while my car was in the shop. I had no heads up or Just a guy who met me at the door and said they don’t have a car for me and they are busy on Monday mornings.
Horrible place to rent from. If you ever were in a car wreck or anything in that matter, do not rent from these people. They are hustlers, the one kept saying for two weeks we only had to pay so much for every two days. Not only did this happen once but twice. We thought we would give another chance and never again. They all of a sudden say they need the car back or they will flag it as stolen. Now they want almost 180 when for the first two weeks till today we owe all this money to them. When the one lady who did this for two weeks. Said we didnt have to owe anything and they are supposed to look at the notes left on the computers. One time she isnt in office we owe so much money to them. Horrible horrible place. They will keep what money you paid for for those couple days and flag it as stolen!!!!!
It took us two tries to get an acceptable care at this place and never succeeded. The first one STANK of cigarette smoke. The second one seemed alright at first but once the cleaned car smell wore off it also had enough smoke smell to bother my wife, the principal driver. We gave up then, but my wife had to drive it with all windows wide open, even when it was cold out, to reduce the problem.Of course its the previous renters who cause the problem, but its too bad the dealer cant get their returned cars clean.
The last two reservations we had were cancelled last minute by the company due to a car shortage. How about if you have a car shortage YOU DONT LET PEOPLE RESERVE THE CARS YOU DONT HAVE?We were told the closest car available was in Lewistown. It really messed up our travel plans.
The car we rented was clean, ran great, got great gas millage, and was all around a great rental car. This would have been a 5 star rating if they hadnt attempted to give me a lesser car than I booked without telling me. I had reserved a Nissan Maxima or similar, which is premium level. When I was about to drive off the lot, I realized the car was a Nissan Altima, not premium level. I went inside and told them I had booked a premium rental, and the excuse was that I didnt use a major credit card. No one mentioned this to me at any time while I was paying for my rental etc. It was when I questioned the car not being what I reserved that I got the excuse. They had no intention of telling me, and I believe they thought I wouldnt notice. No where in any available policy was this written. They made it up on the spot because I caught them trying to give me a lower level rental. Only then was my price lowered. They would not have lowered the price if I hadnt noticed the car was an Altima, not the Maxima I had reserved and paid for. I had provided them with all of the financial information they asked for since I do not have a credit card (I just dont like credit cards...) and I offered to put down a larger deposit in cash if it was going to be an issue. I doubt I will ever rent a car from this Enterprise location again. It is in Altoona, PA. I dont appreciate being lied to not only about the policy, but also with an attempt to give me a lower level vehicle at a premium price. On top of this, the people inside were very rude to an older lady who was attempting to rent a car. She walked into a car rental business with the intention of renting a car, and they treated her like she was clueless and like she was an idiot for not booking it online. The tone the employee, a woman whos name I did not see, had with this lady was extremely rude. She just wanted to rent a car. From this one experience I believe there is a serious issue at this Enterprise location. I witnessed two examples of horrible customer service inside of 10 minutes. In conclusion, the car turned out to be a great car. It was easy to return with the key drop off after hours. Unfortunately the employees at this location attempted to be dishonest with me twice when I showed up to take my reserved car. I had reserved it weeks in advance. Then they were extremely rude to an older lady right in front of me. I will not be going back.
My experience with Enterprise was not the greatest due to the car I rented not being available when I arrived for my scheduled pick up and multiple misquotes on pricing. However, the management team at this location was great and addressing my concerns which is why I am leaving a 5 star review. My suggestion is possibly assigning team members to guests who will have longer term rentals to cut down on confusion. While there was upset, I left a happy customer and definitely will be returning should I have need of a rental in the future.
Arriving late last night from California to visit my Wifes hometown. Needing a car for 4 days and flying out of Baltimore. No cars available to go one way. But that not all, I realize it early morning and perhaps the Enterprise representative hadnt had their coffee yet but I felt they were rude, uncooperative, short and didnt offer any suggestions on how I can get from my hotel to the rental place since they no not offer pick up rides anymore. Ive been renting cars from Enterprise for over 30 years and never have had an issue. Very disappointing & frustrating. Thanks for nothing.
Incredibly poor customer service. I picked up a vehicle and after making it 2 miles down the road the the check tire pressure light came on i returned to store and was rudely told i just go across the road to Sheetz, eventually the employee took the car and filled the tires and then left it parked diagonally across two disabled parking spots. With an 8 hour journey in front of me i dont think it is unreasonable to want confidence that the tires are blown up and if it is company policy to get someone across the road to a gas station when they return with a problem then i think this needs addressed.
The staff at the Altoona, PA branch are fast, efficient and friendly. However, the reason I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the interior condition of the last truck I rented. The staff had to clean up a GMC Canyon while I waited; I understood they were busy and this was no problem. The issue was that the truck was sprayed down with some type of air freshener that was so potent and overwhelming I had to complete my 4 hour drive with all 4 windows down (on the turnpike). Even then, the smell inside the truck gave me a sore throat. I will ask in the future if they can go easy on the spray, or just not spray it at all.
I had to bring a vehicle back due to water leaking into dash. No problems gave me another nice vehicle no questions asked. But you have to watch out because I brought the vehicle back with the same amount of fuel as I got it with and was still charged $12.00 for 4 gallons of gas.
Normally I love Enterprise but my last experience was not awesome. Picked up a car in one city and it was awful, but it was all they had available - despite me making the reservation months in advance and calling 2 days prior to confirm. It smelled terrible, it was dirty when I picked it up (masked by some quickie vacuuming and bad air freshener), and allegedly needed maintenance (light came on a few hours into my trip). I believe it was a 2018 vehicle with only 35k miles on it but it drove terribly, I could barely get it up to highway speeds despite slamming on the gas. When we reached our destination I called 3 local Enterprise companies and was told call back tomorrow because no cars, of any size, were available. This went on for 2 weeks - same message, every day, for 2 weeks straight. I wouldnt care much and couldve dealt with the vehicle except I paid a ton of money to have the car for over 3 weeks. Eventually I gave up on exchanging the car but I dont believe that for 3 weeks - 3 locations had NO CARS available. They did offer to run a check due to the light coming on but it wasnt consistently giving the message so I didnt bother. Seemed like a glitch with the computer more than an actual issue.
We had originally were going to rent a small SUV but there werent any at the time of departure. We were offered several other vehicles. We came to a mutual agreement on a Nissan Altima and it was a great car! They even price matched!!! Great space for all of our things and super quiet. The gas mileage was outstanding! Thank you Enterprise, we will be seeing you again!!! Wonderful Customer Service!!!
I have consistently had good experience renting from Enterprise. The prices are very reasonable and their service has been excellent. My only issue recently is that our local agency has no parking. I prefer to rent a car and leave mine behind when traveling for work. They now have no parking for their customers to leave their vehicle. While they offer a shuttle- it is inconvenient and now requires that you are there during operating hours or make other arrangements. Unfortunately- it will result in having to go elsewhere.
I reserved an intermediate sized car for a long day trip. When I arrived at the office I was given a Hyundai Accent. Im not sure who sets the size guidelines but when you can touch both the doors on both sides from the drivers seat, I dont think its intermediate. I told the clerk that I was taking a long trip and that I would like something a little more comfortable but nothing else was available. So I took the car. And upon getting in to the vehicle, I was immediately stunned by how dirty the windows were on the inside. Not sure how anyone could drive with that much dirt on the inside so I asked the guy working the cleanup bay to at least clean the windshield which he did. and I didnt realize until the next day that the car did not have Bluetooth (this rental was for business and I usually spend a good percent of my driving time on the phone) and it did not have cruise control (which made the 8 hours I spent on the turnpike very long). Anyway. Ill try one more time but Ill be going to Hertz if the experience doesnt get better. I miss the staff that used to work in this office. They used to know me well and would make sure the cars were clean and of decent size for my regular long trips.
I gave Enterprise 5 stars because their service was outstanding. When I arrived at their business, there were about 15 people waiting to be served, and the women behind the counter were so efficient, I was just amazed. I soon had my car and walked out within 20 minutes. All those young women were so polite and kind. I’m always satisfied with Enterprise!
Very satisfied with the overall experience in renting a vehicle with Enterprise. Staff called me right away upon hearing of my vehicle repairs from my insurance company. Picked me up at body shop and quickly got me into my rental. Staff was very friendly. When my vehicle repairs were complete, they provided a ride back to the body shop to pick up my car.Only improvement I can see is in explaining the fuel options available. Was not explained clearly at time of my vehicle pickup.
My initial thoughts on Enterprise Altoona were fantastic. The car was great, the pickup went smoothly, they were helpful and flexible anytime I needed to extend my rental. On return however, I made a boo boo and did not give them the insurance reservation number. I called back a few times trying to get the rental charged to the insurance and not my card. Each time I was told it would be handled. Each time it was not. Finally, I was advised by Enterprise to submit my receipt to the insurance company directly and just be reimbursed. They were kind enough to compensate me for the inconvenience. All told I will still go to them for my next rental, next time though I will be more aware of how it is getting paid.
Essential Workers Neglected Here!!!One Star For This Place Is Actually Too High:I am an essential worker, and the treatment that I received from this place, went way beyond rude and ignorant. I am also an Enterprise Plus Rewards member. In their rules they say that they except bank issued debit card, with holds of a determined amount to be arranged at time of payment andpickup, but when it came to my debit card it was not good enough for them only because being A trucker (oh yeah an essential worker in these trying times) my driver’s license is from another state other then Pennsylvania, so I have to have a MAJOR credit card. So now instead of me being able to do something while I am on my 34 hour break required by law to reset my clock I’m stuck sitting in the sleeper of my truck with no way to get around, tried to call Lyft last night to get a ride somewhere since I couldn’t get my rental car, but the only Lyft car out refused the trip and immediately went offline. I had reserved on their site and had no problems till I spoke with the agent at this place. If it wasn’t for a trucker America would go under grocery store shelves would go empty, making this profession and me an essential part of these times,BUT NOT TO ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR THEY TREAT YOU AS RUDE AS HELL... I’LL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.
Always pretty busy, but I guess thats a good thing!! I have only been at this location twice, first time was not so good, second time was definitely better. Got in and out pretty quick and the car was great.I personally like the State College, PA and Hollidaysburg, PA locations better because I rent from those locations more. Over all if you need to rent a car and want a quality car and good customer service then Enterprise is the way to go!
We were traveling with another family and had reservations made for a 8am pick up. We both got a call the night before and was told that we had to wait until 9am. We werent real happy with the delay, but figured we had no choice. When we got there our car was in the parking lot and was told we had to wait for the van to come from St. Marys for the other family. When the Van got there we then had to wait for them to clean our car(which was already there )and get it ready. We told them to forget it and we would do without. The Van showed up with an empty tank, which could have been avoided since we had to wait for it to arrive. They were friendly people, just very unorganized. We dropped the cars off Saturday around 4pm and dropped the key like we were told, in the drop box. Figured everything was good, until about 5pm Monday when I got a call. They left me a message, since I was at work and couldnt answer the phone. They wanted to know if I would call them back and arrange a payment for Sunday and Monday since I still had the car. At this point, I was a little upset because I wasnt able to get ahold of anyone because it was after hours. I waited till 8am and called them. The guy who answered had no idea what was going on and at one point suggested I just make a payment (for a car that was returned Saturday? No way! ), and he would figure out what was going on. I refused and he then played with the computer ( I could hear him hitting the keys ) and said well, I guess we can just charge you for the 3 days even if you didnt bring the key back till yesterday. Why would I return a car and keep the key just to drive another two hours (hour each way )to return the dumb things. I seriously think that there needs to be a better organization in that place, or management. Like I said, there was two families traveling together and both had a bad experience. Not to mention that we were delayed almost two hours from our original plans and got stuck in the heavy traffic that we were trying to avoid. We werent very happy with our experience!!
I love renting from enterprise. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful. This was my first problem in years. Whoever cleaned the car left most of the cleaning stuff on the windows and when the sun went down it almost caused an accident because of all the film and cleaner it was a streaky mess. I had to get off a highway in a different state just to clean windows. Hopefully next week it will be better and back to the original way when I rent again.
I was very disappointed with both the customer service and the poor quality vehicle I received from the Altoona, PA location. I was placed on a waiting list for a vehicle which was perfectly reasonable, but when they called me 45 minutes before they closed at 6pm, I told them I might not be able to get there until 6:10pm due to construction and the fact that I live over a half hour away. This is when they informed me that they will not stay open past closing time for any reason. I have never heard of a business not being willing to stay open for even up to a half hour when they know they have a customer waiting! This is very poor customer service, especially when its at a business that people routinely spend a couple hundred for each time a transaction is completed. Next, once I got the vehicle, the tire pressure was too low and sending an alert to the dashboard of the car as well as the check engine light being on. Even though I still filled up all the tires with air, the same tire was showing low pressure only three days later! All of this was horrible enough, but when I went to drop off my car at 6pm (which is a scheduled drop off time btw), the woman working there locked the door in my face and pointed at the key drop off box!!! Not only was this horribly rude and inconsiderate, but I was then charged for a whole extra day due to her customer service!!! I was going to rent from your company for two weeks again at the beginning of November, but I have decided that I will NEVER again bring my business back! In addition to this, I have and will continue to voice my opinion of your poor customer service and poor quality vehicles to others and neither I, my girlfriend who was picking me up and watched your employee lock the door in my face, nor many I have talked to will ever be renting from you again.
During these times of negativity I experienced positivity. Once again Enterprise of Altoona came through with a 5 star performance. On time, paperwork and instructions in a manner of minutes. Clean vehicle, pricing very competitive and personable employees, Skylar, Alex and Melissa. My choice in renting all vehicles. Thank you.
I got two big cars- SUV one week and van another . A small / compact car was booked. I asked to be called when a smaller car is available. No one ever calls.I am driving this unwieldy car on hilly roads against my wishes the last 4 daysYesterday I called and a sales rep at Altoona, PA office said she should have a small car by next morning and took my number. No call all day.VERY poor service at Enterprise , Altoona. I had to walk to pick up the car ( which turned out to be a van ) as no salesperson could drop to my hotel Monday morning until 10 am- my work start at 830 am.Once I stood for 15 minutes to return my car -- there were such few workers at 9.30 am on a weekday.POOR service is a recurrent theme
I rented a Chrysler Town and Country for the weekend of 10/31. I had a great experience with Enterprise and the car. The associates at Enterprise were friendly, knowledgeable about the car and very nice to deal with. This was one of the few places where I could rent a sever passenger car which I only needed for 3 days. I thought the pricing was very reasonable. I will definitely be using Enterprise for my next rental.Thank you Terry Riley
I have done business here for at least a year. Renting at least once a month for personal travel. I have had minimal issues along the way. But I must say, obviously (I took the time to write this review)that today they showed that they pick and choose the rules as they go. I went to return a car, which I could have dropped after hours and left the key and been on my way. Upon walking into a full waiting room I asked if I could just leave my keys and go.. the response was that is not an option, I had to wait. Several minutes later another gentleman walked in and was asked if he had the time or if he needed to go. . You can all put that together. Why was it an option for him and not for me? I am disappointed in the service at this location since staff has changed. Most of the girls have little to no personality, walk around looking mad and have little to no people skills.
My friend and I went in today to see about getting a car to rent. They said we couldn’t cause she had debit card and I asked if I could pay for it they said no cause I wasn’t driving. It didn’t make any since to me cause a few weeks ago my cousin got a car from them to go pick up my sister from Florida but he didn’t pay for it my sister did. They told me it was because it was a different state they have a different policy. How was it a different policy when he got the car from there place to drive to go get my sister
This office changes their policies on a whim based on how they feel that day. I have been renting a car from them every time I come here for the last year with no problems using a debit card and an out of state license. A few months ago “it was against the policy” but they would make an exception for me because I came here often to see my daughter. Now, all of a sudden the manager, Ashely is going back on her word and not honoring her previous commitment. The staff has always been rude and unfriendly when I’ve gone in there, but I over look it because I’m getting a decent vehicle for a decent price. Today, they hung up on me.Worst business ever.
Its a no brainer to take an Enterprise car on a trip instead of my own. Great car at a great price with unlimited miles included. Easy to reserve, pick up and drop off. Offering pick up and drop off service is something that I never would have expected, they have thought of everything!
I have used Enterprize in the past with no issues but recently was unsatisfied with their customer service. First off, a few days after I picked up the rental I received a voicemail stating that the overnight drop off of the vehicle went fine and they thanked me. I assumed it was a mistake and then later got a call from them telling me that my account was accidentally closed and when they re-opened it they lost my deposit info. They asked for 3 references and waived the deposit. I assumed it was all taken care of. Then about a week later during a bad snowstorm I discovered the tires on the rental were practically bald and I wasn’t able to get it out of my driveway for two days. After scrambling to find rides to and from work, I called to see if I could trade it in for an awd vehicle and was willing to pay the difference. I was met with a friendly “sorry about your luck” attitude. No apologies, no offer to change the tires, nothing. I finally got my car back after 3 weeks and the day after I dropped of the rental I got a call stating that the rental ran over 1 day. They said they were having trouble reaching my insurance company to get an extension and needed to close my account. They wanted me to bring in $30 at the end of the day and then try to get reimbursed from my insurance. I called my insurance co. and found out that they had charged double for the day they closed and then re-opened the account. My insurance ended up taking care of the issue without me having to pay the $30. I don’t know if other branches of enterprize are like this, but I will not be dealing with the company in the future. They made it very clear to me that they were not concerned about the safety of the vehicle I was given, or the inconveniences along the way.
Last time we rented a vehicle they took our green dot card but this time they wouldnt and made up a bunch bs. Woman said they never took the green dot card but our bank statement says different and our rental history from back in November of 2019. Wouldnt recommend this place.
Staff is always friendly and eager to please. I was there on an especially busy morning two weeks ago, when a customer thought they should be able to jump ahead of everyone who was already waiting. The assistant Manager respectfully told the client that everyone in there had a reservation and she would have to wait her turn and that she would be taken care of as soon as possible. The client was quite rude and was speaking in another language, which I found very offensive. She then proceeded to hand the phone to the Assistant Manager and said here talk to my husband. Really? Like that was going to change anything. The Assistant Manager again calmly explained the situation to the husband and handed the phone back to the client. I was happy to see that just because she wanted to be pushed ahead of everyone else, she was made to wait her turn.
Better than before which was a disaster...but this time was smooth and with no hiccups....Only one problem is when an Enterprise is located in a dealer or another company like a body shop. They have no sign posted and hard to know where the office is located.Post signs, please!!!Thanks
Rented a vehicle on a Sunday. My fault my credit card was not accepted (I brought the wrong one). Ashley could not have been more impatient or rude. When I asked for a ride back to where I was picked up from so my wife could could use her card Ashley said, is there card going to be any good? This was said in a lobby full of people. It was embarrassing enough that i was in this situation but i did not need the humiliation.
I love working with Enterprise Rental Center in Altoona, PA. I have gotten to the point in my search for car rentals that I would be willing to pay a higher price in order to do business with this specific branch in the company. I cannot say enough good concerning the timeliness of their phone calls, the efficiency through the rental process, and the lack of issues with vehicles that I have rented from them.
I was initially given a small car (mostly due to a mistake with Geico) while my Challenger was in the shop. Im a bigger guy, so after a few days of discomfort with the car I asked them for a larger vehicle. They got me just what I wanted with no hassle. Alyssa and the whole crew here are very nice and professional.
This was not the best experience Ive had with car rentals. The people were kind but it seemed they had technical difficulties with their devices they were using. The team there seemed scatter brained and werent on the same page. Knowing where to bring my car back was a bit frustrating since the signs were vague. The location was convenient though being in the middle of the Blvd in Altoona.
Recently I traveled with my husband to OBX for a much needed vacation. I rented a car from Enterprise in Altoona PA. I truly should have walked away when the greeter checked my info and told me that they did not have the type of SUV that we requested. Oh, but they would upgrade me....well with this gift there would be strings. The young lady turned from my husband and I , asking an office colleague what she should do, the only car left to rent was promised to someone the manager knew.??????? Well needless to say they rented it to us. But honestly is this a conversation that should be held in front of customers. Last year I rented from the same store and they did not have what I needed either, but oh they would fix me right up. I was not happy then either, because I was told that I could change cars at any Enterprise I saw along my travels. Now who wants to unload and repack before the even reach their destination? I have always rented from Enterprise in Hollidaysburg, great store. But they had closed this location. This location on Pleasant Valley Blvd in Altoona, lacks class, morals and runs on limited intelligence.
The entire car buying experience at this Enterprise location was the worst we ever have experienced. From the poor customer service that was delivered from the manager down to the salespeople. The Nissan Altima we purchased was not inspected (damaged driver side window, bad brake pads, scratches all over the car, wrong cloth interior, list goes on) and dirty when the car was delivered. The repair process was another headache and add insult to injury, they accused us for not paying for the car, we paid cash for car! Management (Glenn) was defensive and unprofessional about resolving the issues they should of fixed if they would of done there cheap initial inspection they prided themselves on in the first place. We were recommended from a family member who works at Enterprise Corporate and we still had a horrible experience. We will never do business with Enterprise ever again. The experience wasnt worth a single star.Hi Carol H., Thank you for your response. I have been playing email and phone tag with Brenda Rosado about possibly resolving existing issues. I will edit my post with the (+ or -) outcome. UPDATE: Brends Rosado (Group Car Sales Manager Central Pennsylvania) and I have been in email and phone communications since Nov. 2017. During these conversations we exchanges various information (i.e. photos of car damages that were never fixed per our agreement with Glen and Marlon Ollivierre). Ms. Rosado was very short and annoyed that I didnt email her back for 2 months, which I did call her back during this time and I apologized for not emailing her back as she must have expected. She was being defensive so I ended the call. Overall experience with Enterprise has been horrendous, scratches, damaged driver side window, dirty interior car when delivered, slow response time with issues, car was 2-weeks being delivered, lied about the courtesy bumper-to-bumper warranty per Marlon, generic brakes and the lack of respect and customer service throughout the entire car buying process.
Reserved a large suburban for a trip to fla. Was assured by velva that the vehicle would be delivered to Altoona for pick up. when we arrived we were told that the suburban was not available, but they got us a smaller vehicle. They knew we were leaving that evening, and were stuck with taking the smaller vehicle. Will never do business with Enterprise again. If reservations are made, make sure you get it in writing. Do NOT trust these people.
The new facility in Altoona PA is very nice. There should be a designated secure parking area within the Enterprise Facility to park you personal card while renting from Enterprise 1-22-19.Service is sometimes slow because of number of customers waiting. Staff is always very helpful though. My windshield washer fluid froze the last time I rented. They should have cold weather fluid in all cars.My tire blew out and I called the Altoona office for assistance. The representative was helpful but I would have appreciated a call back to ensure I was ok.
Extremely disappointed and appalled by the lack of them knowing whats going on. I was having car troubles so I was going to drop my vehicle off at a garage and try to find a rental. The state college locations had nothing available last minute so I called the Altoona location and spoke to a woman claiming they had 3 SUVs available. I say great Ill call you back (had to make sure my significant other was okay with driving the 1 hour trip to altoona) I call back and got sent the enterprise phone booking services (not the physical Altoona location) and stated that I talked to an Altoona representative who said they had 3 SUVs. So they reserve me an SUV. well I then drive 50 minutes and am only 10 minutes away when they call me leaving a voicemail saying they dont have any vehicles available. At that point I am extremely ticked off. I try calling back and again get the corporate booking line. I tell them what just happened (Im speaking to a manager at this point and he basically says theres nothing they can do and that I need to call the location to check availability and they cant check themselves. Thats great and all but when I did get through to the location they tell me they have 3 SUVs available just for me to drive almost an hour out of the way then call me to say they have nothing available. Extremely disgusted with their competency and lack of customer service. I realize this review wont make much of a difference but hopefully it will deter someone from using this service. This is my first bad review Ive ever written but I am just shocked on how awful this company is ran
Visiting from Ft.Lauderdale, the staff at this Enterprise was amazing! Extremely friendly and accommodating, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with these awesome ladies.Pickup and deliver was flawless. If this was in my neck of the woods, it would have been a completely different situation. I cant wait to move from South Florida.
Had some minor issues with Enterprise not billing me properly. It took some time to fix but their customer service did get it resolved within 3 days of it being brought up. I usually dont have an issue with renting from Enterprise. I have rented from them about 3 times in the past & this recent event was the first issue I have had with them. The staff are usually friendly & helpful with expenses.
The staff at the Altoona Enterprise Rent-A-Car location provided me with outstanding service throughout my rental car experience from 6/3/16 through 7/27/16. They went above and beyond to obtain a vehicle that suited my needs and were very efficient and professional every time I dealt with the them. I highly recommend renting a car from Enterprise in Altoona over any of the other agencies. Thank you for the excellent experience.
In the past year, Ive went to enterprise for car rentals. 1st one was a new Chevy Tahoe and the 2nd was a new dodge ram. Very pleased with both vehicles. The rental pricing was very reasonable and their staff was very friendly and helpful. I will go back to enterprise again when I need a rental.
The WORST customer service experience i have EVER received. When you give a phone call to confirm a pick up the person calling shouldnt tell you that all you need is a drivers license. This was an awful first experience and i will never be back. Dont use this service. Go somewhere else. The bus system works better than these people do.
Usually a good experience but I just went through them when my Chrysler Pacifica (a large van) was getting worked on and they gave me a small Nissan car. I have 3 kids and couldnt take them anywhere until my vehicle was fixed. Thought they gave you a car as close to yours as possible but not this time.
Set appointment 1 week prior, called the morning of appointment to confirm they would be picking me up at the dealership; they never showed. The dealership called them and they said they were on their way. 40 minutes of waiting and the dealership took me to enterprise who didnt even have a car ready! TERRIBLE! I have a problem EVERY time I rent through them.
I am gravely disappointed.Paid for the full balance of what was owed and still got charged for days I did not use because I refused to drive like a crazy woman in the snow and crash. I could not help that the time expired on that day and that they closed at 12 pm. Now I owe that balance and I did not even have the vehicle and they said nothing can be done nor can I rent another vehicle without that balance being paid. Unreal.
We were given a Chrysler 200 with expired Ohio plates. When we brought this to the representatives attention, one of the gentlemen informed us that Ohio had different tags than PA. I commented that is not what the Ohio DOT department website said. We were then given a much smaller Nissan Versa. I now know that due to the lack of vehicles in Altoona, Enterprise considers this a cost of doing business. I wish they would have been more honest about it. They also need to have enough fleet if they want to keep customers.
We rented a large passenger van, from the Altoona location and got about 30 miles when the alternator went out on it.We were almost in Bedford when it happened. I spoke W/Audra from the Altoona office, and she located the Bedford office for me, we drove about 1 mile. They had another van there, but it needed an oil change before we could take it.Between Audra, and Jo (at the Bedford office) we knew we were in good hands. Each one of them went beyond our expectations to make sure we got back on the road for our trip. We couldnt have found anyone else with that kind of commitment to their jobs, and compassion for the six of us that were stranded. They both excel at what they do.Thank you!The Fletcher Party
I like to put my 2 cents in this back in November I rented a car from them for the weekend offer I used my perpaid debit and they took it then a few days I made a rental for mah 1st so I can go to ohio to pick my new van I was on there web site saying that they dont take perpaid card so I call them the manger said we dont take perpaid cards and never did and started a fight over the phone after we told that they took my card back in November of last year and she no wr did not I have the proof they did and it was the manger the took my card back in November then she call me and lie on the back and then we ask if uns can take my wifes she said no is beacuse she isnt the driver that is worried that your wife lives with you and that dont take her card even it isnt a perpaid debit after reading these reviews on are in same they will aloud you it in this they wont that is not at all uns need to work with people that live in the same house plus during civid-19 this isnt good of what the manger did to us over the phone so uns lose a coumster and I went to uhaul they took my card with no problem I give this 0 star If i can.
In spite of a prior agreement with the site that rented me the car, they charged me a drop off fee, and then couldnt print a receipt for me to get reimbursed. The original Enterprise rental office fixed that for me this morning. But I had to make a special trip downtown because $150 is too much to just let it go.
I returned my rental in great conditions and on a half of tank of gas how it was given to me and I was not refunded my gas fee back and only got back partial payment from the 50 hold that’s was placed on my debit worst experience ever will not be recommending yours services
Women working front counter morning of 9/26/20 was rude and treated me like trash then was told my reservation was canceled and she could call me when a car is available.I rent cars from here often but recently there are a lot of new faces some not so nice.HELLO HERTZ!

2022-06-03Car not cleaned. $90/day, plus damage wavier. Promises to deliver service next time, despite not receiving it originally, is not adequate. Good value, I guess. Hertz, or bust!Edit: Updated to 1 star. I agree with other reviews, horrible attitude with the staff here. I left a watch box for a $2,200 watch, and a money clip, in a car. The staff acted as if they have never seen me, in their life. Worst rental experience Ive ever had. Seriously, pay more, and just go to Hertz.

2022-02-28Terrible customer service. Was supposed to be put into a premium vehicle and they are refusing to do so even after corporate told me exceptions could be made. The free upgrade they gave me was a rogue with cloth seats and a key (farthest thing from an upgrade) furthermore the vehicle is covered in scratches and the guy Told me not to worry about it? When I could be charged for them. Absolutely terrible!!! If I could give a 0 I would. Save your money and go somewhere else!

2022-03-27One of the best customer satisfaction experiences Ive ever received with a rental car agency. Every phone call was answered with enthusiasm. I received a courtesy call to ensure the vehicle I received was performing as expected, pick and drop off was smooth. Thank you!

2018-05-23Awesome place to rent cars. They are the only one who allow after hours drop off ! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They always has good deals on rentals. They are sometimes pushy about the insurance though. Besides that best place to get rentals. I always rent from them. They also have great deals for weekend rental.

2021-12-20I wish I could give it 0 stars my husband and I are active duty military rented a SUV and told them when we made the reservation we would NOT be using a credit card we would be using a debit card. I drove an HOUR for a rental only to be told that I had to use a credit card or provide other paperwork i provided my insurance which does not match my drivers license address because my husband and I are active duty and stationed in California they told us it was not valid for a rental. As well as they could NOT provide the SUV we reserved and told us we would have to pay more for their mistake of over booking.

2021-11-28We reserved a car for Thanksgiving weeks in advance. They said they had a car, so I dropped him off and left for an appointment. Turns out they did NOT have the car we reserved and the only one left had an engine light on so they couldnt rent it. Furthermore, we live in the mountains so he couldnt reach my cell and they didnt honor the drop-you-off policy so he had to walk MILES in the cold and dark before I had signal to get the message and go get him! And they never took off the $200 deposit on his card. This is disgraceful and unprofessional! Whats the point in reserving a car if they dont even have it?!

2021-09-13Had an appointment for our car to get fixed. Had reservations set for a rental to be picked up at 9am. Called at 8 to see if we could get picked up early and they said not until 9. We went inside and gave the repair shop our keys. At 9:30 they still did not show up so we called. We were then informed by Enterprise that they had no vehicles and did not know when they would have one. So now the appointment we have waited for 3 months had to be canceled because we have no other means of transportation. Poor customer service.

2021-07-29I made a reservation for a full sized SUV to haul 4 teenagers to Florida (from Pennsylvania) for a week. I arrived at the scheduled time and my local Enterprise had a Ford Expedition Max cleaned, fueled and waiting for me. I drove the vehicle to FL, ran around Cocoa beach for a week, made a run to Universal Studios on Tuesday and a run to Disney on Thursday before driving it back to PA (with a stop to take an airboat ride and see alligators). The vehicle performed well and I returned it sandy but in one piece using the after hours key drop. A few days later I saw the final charge on my credit card with the full security deposit returned. Sure beats buying 5 plane tickets to Orlando and still having to rent a vehicle for a week when I land. Great vehicle... great service... and great price.

2021-10-09Great, friendly, excellent service! They will pick you up or bring you home. You will need to make an appointment to be picked up as they are usually quite busy. Enterprise is the only Rental Company I will use or recommend!
