Everything was fantastic. We had a 2:30 reservation on Valentines day. We were sat immediately and got right to it. We were a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, we had one of the white tents on the side walk. The table top heater took a little bit to warm up, and kept us warm. We had apps and full meals end everything was delicious. For apps we had the roasted brussel sprouts, buffalo cauliflower, and the Arizona egg roll. For our meals we had the shrimp and grits, fillet and shrimp, chicken and waffles and the Angus cheeseburger. The service was so so good. Our waitress was Lauren I believe and she was so attentive, pleasent and did a great job, we cant wait to come back.
This is our second time eating here and the food is great. However, both times there have been issues with our reservation. First time, we reserved a greenhouse for 3 (took a credit card to hold the reservation) we get there and we’re told 3 people can’t dine in a greenhouse for dinner. It was the height of COVID and they were able to accommodate us. Today we had a reservation for 7, in a greenhouse. I give my name and was told they had no reservation for me at all. They were able seat our party, inside, since they didn’t open the greenhouses due to ice. I would think if they had my information they would’ve called to tell us we couldn’t sit in greenhouse. That was one of reasons we were coming today and drove a half hour to find out no reservation. I’ve given my name and phone number both times. I’m not sure what’s happening to my reservations.
We love love love ‘the Epi!’The food is always amazing. Been return clients for years and feel blessed to have such amazingly well run restaurant in our area. Favorite things on menu: anything brunch, Arizona egg rolls, grits, shrimp, the Cuban, their salads are amazing. Etc etc etc. Favorite place in area!!! Love it! Go!!!
Great byob place (2/13/2021) for brunch. (Have not eaten here for dinner yet.) Wild mushroom brie omelette (8 out of 10) mac and cheese (9 of 10) cheesy grits (9 of 10), and chicken and waffle (9 out 10). Pro tip: Chicken and waffle should be ordered with a side of bacon to add some savory to the sweet. (They could plate it differently from bottom-up: chicken, waffle, honey butter, crumbled bacon.)
Reserved one of their little outdoor tents during Covid. A little chilly but still a nice experience. BYOB during Covid! Service was great and friendly. Food was delicious and huge portions (we had leftovers for days). Definitely will return and looking forward to dining inside soon!
The Cuban, the burger and the fried brussel sprouts are our go to. We really enjoy taking our kids because we can have a separate tented or greenhouse table outdoors. The staff is friendly and helpful, even though we make them run back and forth from inside to outside. Well be going back.
Popped in for a quick dinner, and was pleasantly surprised by this place! Salad sounded basic on the menu but presentation was beautiful and chicken was flavorful and JUICY! I ordered an old fashioned too, it was ok (I wish they had a more diverse bourbon and whiskey menu- everything g was mainstream, but ok). Loved the setup of the place: bar was long and there was also a bar counter behind so people just having drinks could sit and stand, leaving the actual bar for folks eating. There was also live music on the Friday I was there (1 guy w excellent voice and a guitar)
A nice casual place with decent food and good service. We ordered the monster onion rings for appetizer and that was a little disappointed. The batter didnt stay crispy and theres not much sauce/topping with it. However, the wild mushroom risotto was very good but the portion size was small. We ordered various sandwiches, the roast beef, the Cuban, the fish & chip and the grilled cheese. The Cuban pressed sandwiches were by far the best with tasty ham, bacon and pulled pork. We would definitely visit the place again just for the Cuban sandwich and the risotto. Overall, it was a good experience.
Dined with family in one of the greenhouses and had an amazing experience. Food was satisfactory - had a little bit of a wait for appetizers due to a back up in the kitchen but we were not in a rush and the atmosphere was comfortable. Fruit in my salad was slightly soft, however taste was still good. Will be sure to return!
Phenomenal service, delicious food, and they even gave out free beers while theyre waiting for their liquor license. They have an interesting and varied menu of tasty food, along with a cool, casual decor. Couldnt be happier or more stoked to return!pictures: ribs, Cubano special, and salmon tacos
We finally made our way here to support this business who in the early time frame of Covid supported other local businesses. We had dinner in one of their heat greenhouses on a cold (25 degrees!) night and were comfortable the entire time. Our feet were a little chilly, but we dined without coats. I hope the greenhouses stay permanently. The food was wonderful. Serving sizes were perfect. I had flank steak which was perfectly prepared. I forgot to get a picture but my sister in law had grilled chicken with mango salad which I did get a picture of. She said it was excellent. My BiL had jambalaya which he said was just the right amount of heat. My husband had chicken and waffles which he said was excellent.
I was very excited for my first meal here, as I have heard tremendous things about their food from family and friends. The wife and I ordered 2 *crispy* chicken sandwiches to go, with a side of lemon/pepper wings.Wings were good, however when we opened the to-go containers for the sandwiches, both were soggy (imagine a $1 meal chicken sandwich from McDonalds) and the sauce was everywhere. The romaine lettuce was brown (how?), and the onion and tomato didn’t appear fresh at all.Honestly, I’m not sure if these issues were due to the fact we had the meals ordered to go and they steamed in the containers on the way home, and/or if the kitchen intentionally baked the entire sandwich in the oven or some other issue. Either way, I’ll not be driving out of my way again anytime soon. Maybe next year Epicurean.
Epicurean Garage is good to go to if you want to spend a couple hours causally hanging out with friends. It is not the place to go to if you want to have great service and be in/out with a nice meal. Our waitress was seen several times spending 10+ minutes at a time talking to co-workers behind the bar when we were sitting and waiting to place our order, needing refills on our drinks, and needing a correction to our meals that were brought out. She didnt check on us after receiving our food, didnt refill our drinks unless we asked, and didnt clear the table throughout our meal. Even the two managers werent working the floor or speaking to customers but were standing in the corner talking. Several of the tables around us experienced the same slow service and constantly had to hunt down their servers. The food is good but for the same price I would go to Liberty Union to have better food and excellent customer service. They put the burgers on a plain potato roll. For a $12-14 burger I would expect a nicer bun than a store bought potato roll.
First time here and it was fabulous! Our waitress Christina, was awesome! Gave us very wonderful recommendations for which entrees and items we should try. There was also live music, Dan Franz and he was awesome as well.We had a great time and we will definitely be back!
Not sure if it’s just what we ordered, but the food was only okay. The nachos were actually bad (to be fair I have high expectations for nachos) and terribly overpriced. We added chicken and guac to them making the price go over $20 and then barely had any toppings to our nachos ($6.50 extra for chicken and I’m not even sure that we got one chicken breast piled on).We also got jambalaya and a falafel pita. Both were good, but nothing to get excited about. Definitely didnt make up for how bad the nachos were.Overall overpriced and food is nothing special. The only reason I give 3 stars is that the atmosphere was nice with the live music. However, I wouldn’t come back again.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is cute but the food was not. My fish and chips has too much breading and not enough fish, the fries were bland, and the burger was too small and resembled a burger you would make at home. The wait staff was also off their game and borderline rude. I wouldnt go back here again.
The food was excellent. My wife had Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes, and I had a burger with fries. Each was cooked perfectly. The service (Johnny) was quick, courteous, and friendly. The atmosphere and live music (Almost Minnesota) were top notch as well. They definitely earned a return visit from me.
Just off Route 100 in Chester Springs. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, a selection of Root Down beers on tap, and a killer menu. My boyfriend had the Grilled Chicken Quesadilla (Brie, Scallions, Black Bean Salsa, Crema Americana, Blackberry Coulis Drizzle) and I had the Fried Chicken & Waffle (Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast & Wings, Cayenne Honey, Maple Butter, Cinnamon-Sugar Dust). We will definitely be back.
I dont know much about this place, if its new or remodeling or what, but the atmosphere seems to be a work in progress. That being said, the food is amazing! I had meatloaf, my husband had the flank steak and my son had a cheese burger. Everything tasted wonderful! We even had an apple galette (essentially a french freeform pie that came with ice cream) which we thought was amazing. It was so good, we thought it could have been bigger, like twice its size! (But maybe not, for my waist lines sake!) Very very delicious!
I have always had a great experience here with the food always being delicious, until a recent delivery order where my short rib was mostly fat. I let the restaurant know and they had someone deliver a new order to me for free! Lee was very nice and accommodating and I appreciated how they cared to help. Thank you Lee, great customer service!
Nice decor. Friendly staff. Food just so-so. Dont waste your time on the onion rings. Donut sized, tasteless grease bombs. Meatballs not bad. Beer was ok.First time I was there. Wont be back.Fast forward 2 years. Stopped in today for lunch. Green House is an awesome idea. Private setting. Very warm and comfortable. Our server Zack, did an awesome job. My wife had an omelette. It was huge and looked delicious. I had the chili. It looked awesome and very nice presentation. I dont care for cumin, my problem. It looked delicious. I also had the short rib sandwich. Wonderful combination of flavors. It was delicious. Lesson for today, sometimes you need to give something a second chance. Lesson learned! We will be back.
My daughter and I had a wonderful dinner Friday night, the weekend of Mother’s Day. We ate outside in a tent for two. I’m not sure which was better, the food or the service. Our servers name was Steph, and she was really awesome. She was very kind, friendly and also her recommendations were on point. Our appetizer, dinner and dessert was delicious. It was my first time there and I will go back.
I ordered dinner from Epicurian Garage tonight through GrubHub. I was excited to try this place after hearing recommendations from coworkers. Oh how disappointed I was.To begin with, the side of cole slaw was left out of my order. It happens, but poor form. Regardless, we first dug into the crispy chicken sandwich and fries first. The sandwich was fine. The meat was tender and moist, but it was not crispy at all. Thats a problem when you put crispy right in the name of the sandwich. That being said, the pickle that came with it was very delicious. Maybe this is a dish that doesnt travel well. Oh and the fries! Most of them were actually quite good. One of us got a foul tasting fry, though. It seemed to have been contaminated with fish of some sort. Very off-putting.Next, we tried the summer vegetables. While the vegetables seemed fresh and high quality, the preparation was uneven. Some of the squash was barely even cooked, while some of the green beans were well past done. Finally, the babyback ribs. The rub was nice and balanced, and not too salty. Are they really babyback ribs, though? Maybe, maybe not. They were quite large. Extra meat is rarely a bad thing but, in this case, the meat was overcooked well beyond being tender. Parts were pure mush and parts were dry and stringy.Overall, I think well try going to eat in person one night to see if the food quality we experienced tonight was an issue of delivery.
We couldnt have asked for a better evening. The manager Christy and our server Kayla were exceptional actually they were awesome. Serving a party of 14 isnt easy. They did it perfectly.. The food was good the cauliflower and brussel sprout appetizers were exceptional. The live music was great( Bob Starner). They organized bringing the cake out perfectly. We had never been here before but we all agreed it was a great choice. Our friend who was celebrating a milestone birthday was over the moon happy. That is what matters to us! Thank you Epicurean Garage!!
The outdoor greenhouse in the winter was awesome! We had our own space, with heaters. Not gonna lie, it was cold when we first sat down but after about 15 minutes it got pretty warm. Then they brought a second heater in and it was all kinds of cozy. Oh yeah... The food. It was amazing. Cubano sandwich, falafel wrap, chicken and waffles... All great!
Portions are large. Not entirely sure why I am reading complaints about that...Service was great! Wait staff was attentive and quick on their feet.Food was creative, and high quality. I think the kitchen has ironed out the kinks I have read about. We ordered the nachos with chili and guacamole, and they were massive and tasty. Chicken wings are huge, and they were juicy with excellent seasoning.Dont order the Big Pig burger lightly...its delicious and enormous. I mean it. Tough to eat the entire thing, and definitely worth it.Management stopped by to check in as well...theyre clearly working on fine-tuning their product, and I appreciate it.
Thier food and service have always been wonderful. But in addition, theyve had a high level of concern during the pandemic (they have not had indoor dining the entire time). They are very respectful of how everyone feels and do thier best to accommodate. Weve been there a few times during pandemic, once we were seated outside with 2 heaters on our table, and the last time we were in one of thier awesome individual heated tents, which provided really nice atmosphere. Of course our food was wonderful, salmon blt, shrimp & grits, burgers, all great, as was the service. They truly know what theyre doing!
First let me say Jose was outstanding ! He was by far the best waiter we had in a very long time. The rest of the staff equally exceptional. The pork shank was tender and well seasoned, the salmon BLT was a wonderful surprise, the cauliflower bites were a large portion and nice way to start our meal. The individual garden houses were cosy and romantic. Loved their creativity during Covid - making lemonade out of lemons.
Very good dining experience. With everything going on, its tough to want to go out someplace to eat and stay if youre trying to be safe. The Epicurean is handling safe dining and distancing practices in stride. Their greenhouses for private dining are equipped with space heaters and allow for a nice change of pace and scenery. Until everything gets back to normal, all restaurants that are able to, should be doing what the Epicurean is doing right now. Food was solid, service was excellent, and it was nice to be able to get out for the first time in ages, and not feel like at risk.
Great new restaurant in Chester County! The food was delicious and fresh. I ordered the Char-Grilled Steak salad and was blown away by the steak itself. It was cooked to perfection (medium) and melted in my mouth. It also had the freshest veggies. While they are waiting for their liquor license, you are still offered a complimentary beer or glass or wine. They have outdoor seating, which I love. Our server, Russ, was great! He made recommendations, checked on our table regularly, and was very engaging.
Food and beer was both very tasty. Service was phenomenal and the atmosphere is very cool. My only issue was lack of value. My burger was approaching $13 for a basic cheeseburger and additional $2 for fries. The portion was perfect to where I can eat the full meal and not feel overfull, however, $15.00 seemed a bit high for the quantity. My wife enjoyed her nachos which were priced nicely and delicious. The guacamole was not too good though. It had a strange taste which seemed to be from basil which overpowered the guac. We let the server know and she was very happy we gave feedback and was accommodating. Overall, we were satisfied but may be back just for snacks and beers in the future.
Great! Wonderful food, very good service. No liquor license yet so commentary beer and wine at the moment. 2nd visit in 5 days! Had the Wild Mushroom Risotto with shrimp (huge, perfectly cooked), wings and fries with gravy. All were excellent. Saturday had the Cheese Steak Wrap, also excellent. Definitely will be returning regularly!
I highly recommend this restaurant for quality and service! The manager went well out of her way to see that my mother had a fabulous dinner delivered to her during COVID. I greatly appreciate her willingness to go the extra mile!My mother was very happy with the crab cakes, potatoes, and broccoli. She said they were excellent and plenty to eat. They came delivered nicely packaged and even had an extra treat added. You guys are wonderful!Thank you so very much! I know my mother will look forward to coming to your place in person with one of her 6 local kids once quarantine is done!
Dined here last evening. Food was outstanding & even though the Liquor Control Board is treating them poorly, the free beer we had was delicious. Our server was knowledgeable and excellent. It was difficult for me to choose what I wanted, because there were so many things I wanted to try. The Lollipop Lamb chops were scrumptious. My son had the pulled pork sandwich, said it was fantastic. I settled on the Jail Island Salmon. It was cooked perfectly & their chef knows how to make risotto! My only issue was, it was so filling!!! But yummy!!! We will be back for sure & I hope the LCB shows up for the inspection & your liquor license is forthcoming! Our family will never forget Stadium Grill, which was there before. But we are very happy to have a new, fantastic restaurant in its place!!!
So I have to be completely honest in my review about this restaurant. Today for the first time in a while I did not tip the server.Firstly, they sever no BEER only water. Please remove cold beer from the name.Secondly, my friend and I ordered two different kinds of wings in which we asked for to be extra done. My wings had a little taste but for the most part they were submerged in honey and slightly pink on the inside. The server asked how was the wings I told her that my wings were okay but my friend does not like the wings Las she then responds okay well do you want a different sauce? No sweetie they are not cooked properly. Not good.Thirdly, we have the menu another chance I ordered Shrimp and Grits(that’s probably their best dish). My friend orders a pulled pork sandwich. Her sandwich was cold with melted cheese on it. The server asked us again how was the food. Told her and again no care I’m the world for our concerns. No sorrys, no let me adjust the bill and because of that I felt like she forgotten her tip and I always tip good.Lastly, we wasted an entire evening on RAW TASTELESS FOOD and not to mention we walked to ACME to purchase beer. I was totally excited when I saw the food but in my honest opinion the food looks great via picture but it’s definitely horrible. My apologies to the server but if you work for a tip at least show the customers that out spending monies are important as well.
This is a great addition to the area. I have been here twice for lunch with friends and coworkers in the last few weeks and am headed there for dinner tonight with family, including children. Note they have outlets at the tables so feel free to do a working lunch here or bring kids tablets without losing charge. The business fast lunch option is nice (although we didnt order from there). I appreciate tasty healthy options and found a few here (yum to the grilled asparagus wrap). Both of the times Ive been there they have beer available for purchase (separate receipt). I was great with beer but if youd like to have a glass of wine, bring your own (only temporary liquor license currently).Their food menu is larger than expected for a new establishment. The decor is fun and comfortable.
Good atmosphere. Very nice beer selection. Food was good we just had sandwiches will be back to try other options. My roast beef was a little flavorless and my bun was really so mushy I didn’t eat it. They did offer a fresh bun but I enjoyed it without. We have great service.
Nice casual atmosphere with old fashioned car theme. Great American-style menu with something for everyone. Our waiter was very hospitable and friendly and cracked a lot of jokes. 😂Only thing was at the time we visited the restaurant did not have their liquor license yet.
Bar service was solid and friendly. Appetizers were outrageously large. (If you want people to order an entree do not have such large portions for apps). I didnt have enough room for more food after I split two apps and a side. Prices were a little high for the quality of the food. It was all delicious but nothing stood out with locally sourced freshness. Normally when you advertise your restaurant for having local food, the food speaks for itself in terms of freshness and has a specific special quality that cannot be matched. I understand the ethics behind locally sorced food, but the price didnt match the quality I expected. It was slightly elevated bar food that could be found cheaper (expect for the literal entree sized portions of the apps).I may as well have ordered the egg roll app and eaten it for my full meal! (Its a damn friend burrito guys!) Ive had the same quality of food at restaurants who didnt claim the same trend of locally sourced goods.Maybe lowering the portion sizes will help with their costs overall. (Granted we only had a small sampling of the HUGE menu). Im sure they will size it down as they learn what works for them and what will not.We will be back in a few months when they get themselves together a bit more to give it another go. Food tasted great, service was good, but the place is still very green. They need time to figure out the industry itself and adapt accordingly.
I did not like sitting in a tent on one of the coldest nights in Feb. I nearly froze with my kids. The food was not as good as they touted and yet they still think its the middle of 2020 with draconian COVID restrictions in place. Were all fully vaccinated now and yet to my knowledge, the owner has not lifted restrictions. Perhaps due to his own health scare experience earlier at the height of the pandemic. Hey, life has risks, but please dont project your fear of lifes risks onto your customers by making us all sit outside. Get out of the business of trying to keeping me safe and open up, drop the mask and social distance requirements that are no longer necessary and well maybe try it again. I will not be going back until they are fully open with no restrictions.
LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Stopped in while traveling based on great Google reviews. Loved it!!! Great sandwiches (Best Cuban sandwich Ive ever had...Ever). Wings are great, servers are pleasant, place is clean, beer is cold, bathrooms are well kept. Epicurean Garage does a great local business too. Wish i can give ten stars!!! Definitely stopping here again!!!
Service was just bad... Im not one to write bad reviews. My hopes are that the right people read this and make changes. The waiter clearly didnt care about tables (not just ours). He may have had a bad day, but with the prices, Id expect much more. The staff seemed to be stepping all over each other with no clarity or leadership.I got the maytag burger, $17. Id say it was worth about $8-$10. My friends got nachos & French doors, both were very good. Both friends were shocked by the price.Root down beer was a nice.surprise (love them).Ill try them again in a year
Awesome experience! Place was hopping on a Sunday night. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly, pleasant and attentive. We ordered the small nachos and the fried baked potato for the two of us and the servings were delicious, piping hot, and huge--we had leftovers to take home. We were offered samples at the bar and ended up sharing 4 different awesome Root Down beers throughout the night (their lager, award winning IPAs and a hefewizen). All of the staff was hustling yet they all seemed happy with a friendly smile which is hard to find these days. Comfortable warm atmosphere but eclectic decor as well! Loved it. Cant wait to go again on a live music night! Highly recommend!
Only outdoor dining now, but a nice day so that was fine. Quesadilla was OK, some kind of orange cheese on it, a bit tasteless and served with elderberry juice?!? When the waitress finally brought our food out, she told us if we wanted anything else to just go up to the door & get it ourselves. Werent shy about asking if we wanted to leave a tip when charging us for the meal (in advance). A tip for getting anything we wanted for ourselves? Left a funny feeling.
The garage theme has been done before, but its not a distraction here. They have different, very comfortable chairs everywhere. They put a box of ice breakers/topics/conversation starters on every table. And the thing that truly impressed me were the outlet receptacles (both ac and usb) at every table. The food is delicious (portions are big) and the servers are friendly and professional. Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
I have been here multiple times, and got something different each time. Every meal as been excellent. The servings are generous, and the presentation is great. The price is fair for what you get. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I am already thinking of what I will get on my next visit.
Food and service was great! Our date night table consistented of vegetarians and meat eaters—Everyone left happy.Giving four stars instead of five because they were 15 minutes late for our reservation. To be fair they did give us some beer and wine on the house. Also, the live music was WAY too loud... Even for us 30-year-olds. All for a good time but we left with ringing ears. We practically had to shout goodbyes.Well be back! The kids menu looked awesome for our picky, vegetarian. Well plan for a regular night (or with earplugs, sans kids, if we come back for music).
Walked in to three people behind the host booth and were promptly ignored until a fourth person came up a few minutes later. The restaurant was not that busy - maybe less than half full. Seated at a table in an exceptionally dark corner. Not a great start but OK, whatever. 5 minutes go by. No server. Another 5 and finally someone comes over to ask if we’d gotten a server. Went to find said server. Came back and said they’d be our server. Fine. Put our orders in.Had the Arizona Egg Roll which was huge but terriblely soggy. Way too much stuff in it and it didn’t taste particularly good. Wife got the salmon BLT, that was fine. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich. What I received was soggy bread and an absolute ton of sawdust-dry roast beef. I’m not even sure how that happens. Someone (manager?) checked in to see how the meal was. I asked if there was supposed to be some sort of sauce on this sandwich and she said yep there is. I opened my sandwich and let her see that there was in fact no sauce. She has to go and get the sauce that was supposed to be on it. The beer was decent but that’s dependent on an unaffiliated brewery. For 1 beer, 1 appetizer, and two sandwiches our bill was 50 bucks.I won’t be returning.
This dinning establishment is amazing. The food ,especially the wings are great. Half price wing Wednesdat is really special . The prices are very good. The service was tremendous. Meredith our server was pleasant and very helpful. This is my second time here and Ive never been disappointed.
My three year old is very picky. We ordered the chicken tender and Mac and cheese family meal on mothers day and he cleaned his plate. There was no whining! At one point he stopped eating to say that he loved everything on his plate. Thank you for granting me a relaxing dinner on mothers day!
Everything is very fresh and delicious, service is attentive. I did feel that the portions of protein were stingy for what you pay. Good experience otherwise.RE owner: Since for some reason, its not letting me reply to you so Ill tell you here. I had the seasonal with shrimp. The salad itself was large but it only came with 4 shrimp and my husband had the steak fritte. It was a bit on the smaller side. Thanks for responding!
I sat at the bar and had a fantastic blue cheese garden salad, burger, and fries. Great service as well. S/O to Amanda and Sam. They were wonderful hosts. I would only suggest a bit more seasoning (salt and pepper) on the burger patty. Other than that it was cooked to a perfect medium and was made with very fresh ingredients.
Inaugural experience as it is a new spot. The owner, Lee is well spoke and culinary trained in the industry. Great atmosphere, quite loud. Ordered nachos as an app; they burned them. The owner came over, personally apologized, and offered complimentary nachos AND dessert. Extremely good customer service, personally handled, with professionalism.Food:Chicken and Waffles were very tasty. Conan sugar dusting and honey were a nice touch with the fried chicken.Tomato soup and 3 cheese grilled cheese is a great comfort food option. The soup was fantastic; hearty, yet not thick. The freshness shined in this dish.Meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was just a touch dry, but the wild mushroom brown gravy was the necessary compliment that brought the dish together..DessertThe NY style cheesecake was nothing short of phenomenal. Rich flavor, well constructed and full of flavor. Freah whipped heavy cream was airy, light and well done. As good as the meals were, the dessert was the highlight of the evening.Highly recommended. Will definitely be back. I suggest you check them out!
Horrible. Cold Beer in the sign but no liquor license. Kind of like a big cafeteria. Food is mediocre at best. I feel sorry for the staff. They kept stopping by to see if we were ok almost to apologize. Get it together guys. If youre a dinner put some neon outside. Id continue with the accolades but I need a beer. Three thumbs down!
Was happily greated even at the end of the night just before the kitchen closed. Sam, I am assuming the owner took good care of us and made great conversation. We knew we were late to grab a bite for dinner (10:00pm) but he made sure the food was perfect for us. Will definitely be going back!!!
Superb food and staff. The servings are quite generous because a lot of people go home with containered leftovers. There is an outside patio with tables that have umbrellas. Out front theres some sidewalk tables which are also covered by the building overhead. They ARE dog friendly! As long as your dog is friendly and on leash.
This is our favorite new Chester County restaurant. My son loves the Jamaican Jerk wings and all the food is very well done. The “garage” theme is really coming together and there is something for everyone, from the toolboxes to keep kids entertained to the tire water bowls for dogs out on the deck.
Just returned from a leisurely dinner at the Epicurean Garage. This is an airy open dining spot tucked away in a shopping center.Johnny, our server was extremely service-oriented and provided complimentary wine. The recommended crabcake sandwich was full of crab and was delicious. We ended dinner with coffee and an apple crumb pie which was home made . This is a hidden gem! Well be back.
Ive read a lot of mixed reviews. Just tried this spot 2x now and have been very pleased with the food and service. Food is fresh, vegan/vegitarian options (grilled asparagus hummus wrap, yum) wouldnt recommend the fish and chips, very thick batter, my son picked most of it off. Rissoto was really good, etc etc. Love the tool box with toys/puzzels for the kids, keeps mine entertained longer than coloring & crayons. Will return again :)
4 Nov 2018 **My wife had the Epicurus garage sampler. Portion control is a problem. It looks like quantity come before quality. My wife’s meal sampler had two pancakes the size of the dinner plate, approximately eight inches in diameter. The berry jam/compote that accompanied them was good. The home fries were not appealing, they were very dark and not crispy. The portion of potatoes was enough for three people. The poached eggs were not drained properly thus making them watery. Her sausage was flavorful and not overcooked. The bacon was overcooked. Her coffee was good.I tried a three egg omelet with veggies, provolone cheese and some bacon on the side, limp not crispy. Well, the massive plate of food that came out was not anything near what was ordered. The omelet was more like a mess/frittata with the cooked eggs on the bottom and the veggies on top, with the cheese placed on last as an after thought. It was flipped upside down with brown marks showing over cooking on the bottom. The cheese was not melted which was now on the bottom and not folded into the omelet. The potatoes, enough for perhaps three people, were also not crispy. The side of bacon came out crispy almost to the point of bacon bits. The toast was not toasted. It was a slice of bread cut in half diagonally.I asked for limp bacon and it came out overcooked, I sent it back and they cooked it some more. It appeared the cook had placed the bacon into the deep fryer to make it more crispy. I guess the cooks think that if the food is not to the customers liking then it needs more overcooking. The cooking staff clearly was not listening to the wait staff and are coming up really short on cooking skills. The food was so bad I refused to eat it. The manager came over and I gave him a detailed report on the poor condition of the product leaving the kitchen. He was polite and removed the massive plate of food from in-front of me.As a point of reference, I usually don’t complain, however this meal was so poorly presented, cooked and served that I was not having any of it.I tried this place a couple of weeks after they opened and told them I would wait to expect a good meal when they had their procedures worked out.Nice atmosphere but we will not be back any time soon. I think the cooks need more training. Price to value is not present. Sixteen dollars for this was way over priced.
Ordered the Caesar salad and wings (on wing night). Disappointed that the salad was a create your own as in cut your own romaine leaves and dress and toss yourself. Wings were mediocre and not fresh at all. The interior theme is great but thats about all they have going for them. Maybe theyll work it out and update their food in the next few months.
We sat at the bar as there was a 20 minute wait for a table. There were 2 bartenders who waited on us. They were friendly, introduced themselves, asked our names, and took our beer and food order in a timely manner. This is why 2 stars were given instead of one. My food order was wrong as I ordered the garage nachos and was given garage fries. I gave my food order again, again saying to put the sour cream on the side. My boyfriend was talked out of ordering the adult portion of fish & chips. Sam said he had never seen anyone finish it & recommended the kids portion. My boyfriend was disappointed with how small the portion of his meal. He felt the adult portion would have been fine. Not only that but they had over fried his fish and every bite tasted burnt. Finally my nachos come out and they put a huge ball of sour cream right on top of the nachos even though both times I ordered them I had asked for the sour cream to be on the side. They were nothing to right home about as far as the taste was concerned. The bartender said he would buy me a beer but as i was driving, I declined. He said he will next time I come in to make up for him hearing my order wrong. I didnt have the heart to tell him that I most likely will not be coming back there. So no money was taken off & nothing was comped or anything even though they messed up my food order twice. The cherry on top was the food bill. I was given a bill amount of $20 and some change but my card was run for $23 and some change. Sam said the bill he gave me was for the garage fries but he ran my card for the garage nachos and that is why it was more money. We were so done with the place and experience that we just signed our card slips and left.
As a family of 5 plus a baby, we were seated at a 4 top table. Even with young children, and the baby seat borderline with the next table, it was quite crammed. Shortly after we were seated, I observed an all adult party of 3 seated at a table for 8, which was puzzling... It was very chilly seated at the front of the building and we kept coats on for the meal. The food was good enough for the convenience of the location to our home, but I was a bit surprised when the childrens meals came out on metal sheetpans that were extremely hot. That doesnt seem well thought out...
Good new place to get some good food and beers ! Outrageous portions, so bring your appetite. Had the Arizona Eggroll, really good, sitting on top of bed of black beans. Then tried the hot roast beef sandwich, equally as big and messy. Added Garage fries with side bowl of brown gravy with sandwich. Fries were a bit bland on their own, but gravy made them better. Get gravy on the side or fries will drown and be too soggy. Wife had Tomato soup and loved it.Root Down beer selection was equally great. Loved the OG Haze wheat beer. Will be back for sure.
Very disappointed. Food was ok but service was just bad. Waiter was very friendly just slow and the food runner was terrible. Didnt say a word just dropped the food and left. Thought he was going to drop my entree in my lap so I grabbed the dish he was holding with a rag before it ended up all over the table. Appetizers came but no plates or silverware and my beer came in a dirty glass. Shame we went because it had good reviews. Wont be in the regular rotation.
We went on Tuesday night the day they opened! It was fantastic couldn’t have asked for anything more food was out of this world! Server was very personalable! The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, and it’s not even expensive! This will definitely be one of my go to places from know on!
Breakfast was pretty poor. Need to go back and check lunch and/or dinner. UPDATE*** Dinner and Lunch are fantastic!! Changed review to 5 star...I think breakfast/brunch was new and the first day. Understandable that they may have had some first day jitters. Def check it out.
2nd visit, 1st was 10 days after opening. Service is still awfully SLOW, food for a large group (6) did not arrive to the table within a timely manner. Too loud, bright and the menu is still all over the place. They should re-think all aspects of this venture before they have to close the doors permanently!! Try Jaspers Backyard in Conshohocken instead.
Great food, nice (warm, friendly) atmosphere, Unfortunately they cant be trusted with seating - I called and they said there were lots of spots and we wouldn’t need a reservation, we drove straight over and they said it’d be 30+ minutes even though we were the only ones waiting
Customer service..Jose & Olivia were attentive & kind..the double, triple fried fries were dry & tasteless..falafel pita under cooked..total mush...tzatziki sauce tasted like blue cheese dressing w/ a hint of cucumber?!..will not order that again..time to tale this item off the menu...on a brighter note still remembering ur awesome breakfasts

2021-09-15Great place for an outing with the kids or when adulting. Vast selection of beers and tasty food. If youre in the mood for a burger, this is your spot. they also have a crab cake sandwich that will hit the spot. And btw, if you prefer to dine outside, they have you covered. Literally as well. They have a number of outside dinning “huts” that can seat 5-10 people.

2022-05-09We had a great lunch there starting with their nachos. So good! My husband had the Cuban sandwich and I had the American Burger, both delicious!!! Our waitress was so nice and accommodating. Well definitely be back. It is a great place for the whole family. My grandkids were along too and they loved it. They had a great kids menu.

2022-01-09My aunt and uncle love this place! Their food is so fresh and they have lots of choices. I got a gift card for the holidays and the staff were very helpful, efficient, and friendly. The decor is warm and inviting. Its come as you are, and i like that. I know theyre adhering to covid protocols, too, and thats so important!

2021-02-08We ordered food from Epicurean Garage for the Superbowl Sunday. We ordered Lemon Chicken Family meal. Meal came with salad, mashed potato, lemon chicken, baguette, desert consisting of brownie, cookies and strawberries. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also ordered special of 30 Wings (Buffalo, Lemon pepper, Mango Hebinaro flavour) and it came with amazing dip.Overall, we loved everything. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and would certainly visit them to try their outdoor seating..

2021-07-25Was very excited to see Lee and the Epicurean back at it again. Fresh menu and great food. Each item was better than the last. Cauliflower wings kicked it off right with sauce so good I asked for a side to go. Meatloaf, mushroom risotto, and mac n cheese were all great. Cant wait to go back...maybe tonight!

2022-04-17I was so pleasantly surprised. Initial upon walk in I was concerned, but the service, food and experience was unexpected. Staff was above par, food was above par and even the serving for six was timed correctly. Someone was always walking by asking if we needed anything and my glass was always full. So happy there is no sign of covid in this restaurant
