Escape Inn Hershey in Hummelstown
Furniture was updated and clean, but the hotel was still old. Our heater was on the fritz - first going back at 1230am, getting as loud as a jet engine! So on Dec 23 I had to choose between super loud or off (no heat) to sleep. By 4am I picked that being cold was preferable. One of the worst nights sleep I’ve ever attempted.Guy at the front desk in the morning was more worried about getting me out the door than offering compassion or restitution.
This place could easily be misunderstood when you drive up.I think it used to be an Econo Lodge, but is now under new ownership (I could be wrong about that though)… And while I’ve stayed in some very nice Econo Lodges (quick shoutout to the one in Grand Junction, CO), we all know there are some Econo Lodges to be avoided.Like I said, you could easily get the wrong idea about Escape Inn when you first arrive…There isn’t much of a true “first floor.” It’s just a tiny lobby with a staircase surrounded by a parking lot underneath the rooms. That lobby isn’t exactly “fancy” either, even by Econo Lodge standards. However, the rooms themselves are more than adequate. They’re clean, comfortable, and modern enough to serve all your basic needs. We had some noisy neighbors during our stay, but nothing that disrupted our rest, and that brings me to the way in which Escape Inn really sets itself apart: above-and-beyond service. It was very clear when we checked in that they put a lot of thought into making sure every guest has the best experience possible. For example, they try to keep families with children on the lower floor and people with no children on the higher floor. The idea is to keep the pitter-patter of feet on your ceiling to a minimum. I’ve stayed at dozens of hotels and I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed at one that cared about that. As a parent who regularly travels with children, I can think of several situations where it would have been nice to know my kids weren’t stomping all over someone’s ceiling. There aren’t many cons to Escape Inn and the complaints are relatively minimal. It seemed a little over-priced, but that’s how all the hotels in the Hershey area are. The parking lot is also pretty small and cramped.
Positive: The room appeared to be very clean when we got there! No odors or stains on sheets or towels. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Negative: The stairs to get to the rooms weren¿t the greatest, felt very steep especially when carrying bags up and down. There¿s an elevator but it wasn¿t working. There was also construction that started very early in the morning above us on the roof.
We were very happy with our one night stay at The Escape Inn, and will definitely stay again, when we come back to Hershey. The two people we had contact with at the front desk, were pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and well stocked with towels. The beds comfortable.
We booked this hotel for our annual visit to the Eastern Fall AACA show. While the price was attractive - the experience was NOT.Due to a family emergency we had to leave a day early and the hotel still charged us for the full reservation. No breakfast available, bedbugs in the room, and no onsite support. While everyone seemed friendly at first - things went downhill when there was a question of a refund. We will NEVER book the hotel again.
As a rule Im not a fan of outside entry rooms but this was a first rate room with eateries within walking distance. Close to Hershey Park too. Elevator out of order but that was known prior to check in. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay here again.
The room was nice and clean, small but just what we needed for 1 night, and at a great price. Had an in room fridge and microwave. The exterior has not been kept up the way the rooms have, but dont let that fool you. Only a few minutes and easy drive from Hershey Park and close to several restaurants, gas station, etc. Very convenient! No elevator, and lots of steps. Not at all handicap accessible.
I would LOVE to rate this a 5/5 but, there were some slight issues. Our remote was dirty, which during covid times is a little, gross. Our TV stopped working the 2nd day with no explanation. This wasnt a huge issue because we were only in the room at night but, that was our down time. There werent a lot of supplies (ice, vending etc), so it seemed more like JUST a place to kick it at night. People are complaining about price, we paid a discounted price so...price was fine. Not sure why some people paid $200+ the same time we were there but, we did not. Which was good. Perks: staff was super awesome, room was clean and what we expected. Bed was nice, needed more pillows for a king bed. A/c was a little odd. Would turn on for like 30 seconds then shut off, only to turn on again. Also last thing, the bottom of our door was broken on the inside so we could see outside light and it was letting in warm air.
My family and I stayed at the Hersheyscape Inn for a weekend at Hershey Park. We were very happy with our stay. The room was clean and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. No breakfast but complimentary coffee and juice were available in the lobby. Great room at a low price and just a five-minute drive from the park. Would definitely recommend!
This place is awesome... Super friendly staff. The room I have is above as far as Im concerned. Above what I expected I travel all the time thought Im might get a first floor room welllll. There is No first floor the first floor is the second floor NICE. Rooms are updated. Elevator is broke room by the metal staircase very noisey.
Went to Hershey Park Memorial Day Weekend and wanted to stay overnight somewhere close but not pay a ton. This hotel is about 7 minutes from the park and was clean, comfortable, provided the necessities, and was mostly quiet. Front desk staff were very nice. Microwave and mini fridge in room are super convenient. Beds and pillows were comfortable and big, wall-mounted tv. Water pressure in the shower was a little light, but other than that, everything was good! The parking is onsite but it’s not a huge lot; there were only a couple open spots when we arrived. Hersheyscape Inn is nothing fancy but does the job and we would definitely stay here again when visiting the park!
I couldn’t believe how nice the rooms were for a 1 star hotel. Super accommodating and friendly staff and plenty of parking. However the exterior definitely needed some love, and there was a weird funky smell towards the parking lot maybe it was a dumpster that smelled pretty foul but you couldn’t smell it in the room
My wife and I booked this hotel on its 4.2 rating. I am guessing that is based on good early reviews. We understood we were not booking the Ritz but found that this was far below our standards. The floor was sticky and the counter tops although appeared to be wiped down still showed dirt. I found mans beard cuttings in the sink. Decided that based on this we were not comfortable with staying. Talked to the desk manager who denied our request for the second night refund. I only pray that we did not contract COVID from the poor cleaning conditions.
The place was clean (no bugs or weird smells) close to hershey park. The outside needs some upgrade and clean up but it was ok to stay for the price. I care more for the inside of the room, spacious and it had a working AC, tv, and mini fridge. Would recommend if you are just looking for something to spend the night and at a decent rate.
We needed a hotel close to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for an early morning appointment. Hersheyscape Inn fit the bill since it is quite literally across the street. The room was pristine and all the furnishings were up to date. Will definitely stay here again when seeking treatment at Penn State Hershey.
We had reservations at another hotel. When we got to Hershey we were told there was a flood at the hotel! We called Hersheyscape Inn to see if they had any rooms available for 3 nights. They not only helped us, they asked what hotel had the flood issue so they could help any other guests who may need a room! The staff is great and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean! Thank you! Will definitely stay again!
We needed to find a room after a family member was admitted to Hershey Medical Center. The Econo Lodge was the closest and the cheapest place to stay. The room smelled fresh and was clean and spacious. We appreciated the fridge, microwave, and adjustable lights with reading light on the wall by the beds. The beds were also comfortable with warm bedding, although the pillows were quite soft rather than firm. Note: all the rooms are on the first or second floor but there is an elevator/stairs.We do wish the sink in our room was in the bathroom with the shower and toilet rather than outside of it. Also, the property is a bit rough around the edges - but the rooms certainly are upgraded and beautiful, and the price was a good trade-off for the exterior. An in-room coffee/tea maker would have also been nice but not essential since there is free coffee/tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. The continental breakfast is basic but better than some. We enjoyed bagels with cream cheese and strawberry jam, hot instant oatmeal with yogurt, coffee and juice. Cereal, muffins, toast and hard boiled eggs were also available.I would stay at this Econo Lodge again in a heartbeat! Its an economical and comfortable stay.
Only stayed for one night for my daughters birthday. Spent the weekend at Hershey Park. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, close to shopping and food. Everything was within 3 or 4 miles. Definitely would stay again when I visit Hershey.
Great place to stay for the price. Kira at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and well maintained. I usually see bad caulking at the base of the tub but this was perfect. I would stay again if I was in the neighborhood. The breakfast bag was well done in light of Covid.
Parking was a breeze under the hotel and the gentleman who checked me in was very kind and gave me lots of useful information regarding the area and the surrounding restaurants. The beds were comfy and the room was among the cleanest Ive ever seen! No complaints and I will definitely return to this location very soon.
Pros: Good price. Really nice, updated rooms with flat screen TVs. I especially liked the sink (looked very modern).Cons: breakfast is very limited. They only had fruit loops as their cereal choice. Also it would be nice if they had things to put into the oatmeal (Ex. Dried fruit, walnuts, brown sugar, etc). More variety would have been nice there.Overall really good, priced fair, and really close to Penn State Medical Center.
We stayed here last night for the Trump Rally. This little hotel was wonderful. From the wonderful night time woman who checked us in to the owner who we spoke to the next morning..( who takes GREAT pride in his place!) We give the room a 10 because of the tasteful and very clean decor!! The room was spotless! Towels were so wonderful, soft and smelled good. Bed was extremely comftorable as were the pillows. The water pressure and water temp were great. So many times this is a problem . Proximity to everything was great! We could not have been any happier with this Econolodge and I feel I am a very picky person normally. I 100% recommend this place! Kiddos to the management and excellent staff!!!👍
Wife and I stayed while on vacation. The room was very clean and surprisingly modern. The service was very pleasant. The only complaint I could think of is the bed could definitely be replaced. It was a rough wake up for the back. The servic and cleanliness of the room though made up for it in my opinion.
This Econo Lodge was very very very clean We would stay again. My only complaint was the room lighting was too bright. The light bulbs should be replaced with lower wattage warm light bulbs. The breakfast was simple but delicious. This hotel was completely remodeled about 3 years ago.
The room was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. We had questions about the surrounding area and the woman at the front desk was very informative. All staff members were extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here and I will be staying again when I return to Hershey.
We had a very nice stay. So close to the park and everything around. The room we had was very comfortable and very clean! One thing is you can if you are in the bottom level you can hear the upstairs neighbors flush or shower, same goes for sure neighbors. But overall we had a nice relaxing night.
The exterior and lobby give a bad impression, but all of the rooms have been completely renovated and are very nice and comfortable. They should work on upgrading the lobby, it could be reworked into a more inviting atmosphere. Id stay again for the price and comfort. They also allow pets which is huge! I think the added cost they require is overkill. The floors are upgraded to tile (no carpet) so the extra cleaning required after a stay with pets is minimal. They charge $20 per pet/per night. They should consider a flat $25 rate for the stay. Overall I was happy with the stay.
This place looks a tad bit rough when you drive in because of the unconventional design but the facility is very nice. Everything is very convenient. Lots of USB charging ports and the bath area is very practical. We are kind of fussy about our hotels (not that we need fancy stuff) and this hotel worked out just great. Staff is very friendly. We will use this place again.
Rooms were very nice and very clean. Lobby was clean but small and very office like. Complimentary breakfast was cereal, toast, yogurt and make your own waffles! More oriented for business travelers but my family, including 2 children, did not mind at all! For the price it was a very nice stay!
From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated like family, not a guest, by the staff. We were given brochures for activities, suggestions were made on where to visit , and an invitation to breakfast was reminded. The rooms are updated with a modern flow, and it’s immaculate. Our room had a king size bed, large screen T.V, refrigerator, microwave, free WiFi and breakfast. Did I mention the room was spotless? ( key factor for me when reading reviews)Don’t be hesitant by their affordable prices, you’ll be missing out on all the qualities of exceptional service you desire when staying away from home! You definitely get more bang for your buck!Perfectly located for touring Hershey.Wouldn’t think twice about making this my “go to place” when visiting the area.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was very easy considering the reservation was made about three hours before we arrived. The room was very clean and spacious. The price was right as well. The location was great. We would recommend this hotel to others.
The room was very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was enjoyable, lasted until 9:30 (a decent time to me as I am someone who sleeps in until at least 9 without an alarm), and the staff was not in a rush to start cleaning up right at 9:30. The only reasons I did not give all 5 stars was because they come in my room after I left when I had the Do Not Disturb Sign up, which clearly means the occupant does not desire the housekeeping service (plus the sign was missing when I got back), and the breakfast room was quite small for how busy it seems to get. I also think it was a bit overpriced for the type of hotel it was for the time of year I stayed regardless of its location, as there are nicer hotels nearby the cost around the same as this one did.
Rooms were nice, cleanliness wasnt the greatest. There was still some junk left over under the bed from the previous guest, so who knows what else wasnt cleaned. Continental breakfast was nice though. Overall, it was a great room to stay in for one night, but youd need a bigger room to stay longer.
Clean. Looks recently remodeled in the room. New paint and nice flooring. A little cold because the heater was not on before we entered out room, but warmed up quickly. Free breakfast didnt have a ton of options, but it was ok. All together nice accommodations for a night.
Counts as shelter. Decent price, but you get what you pay for. Staff are friendly and courteous. Room was clean, but the air conditioner had problems causing it to not cool the room very well unless it was on an extremely cold setting, and then it would cool the room unevenly. overall its a decent, cheap place to stay if youre looking for an overnight stay on a budget.
The place was very clean and quite. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good in the morning. The rooms were updated and modern made you feel comfortable. There was a microwave and fridge. I love the fact there wasnt any carpet. My husband and I were there because we were going to a concert at Hershey and we got there earlier than 3. The gentleman let us pay ahead that way we did not have to rush back from Hershey Park. When we got back to finish our check in and get our room to get ready for the concert that night the new receptionist knew we were there for the concert but we asked to please have a room away from everyone from the concert because even tho we were going we werent there to party after. They put us in the back and when we came to the room after the concert it was a quite night. Slept like a baby. We will definitely stay there again. 5 stars all the way.
For what we paid ($89) for a Saturday night stay, the place was awesome. Newly renovated rooms, new beds, and no carpeting. Close to Hershey park. Bonus free breakfast, that was better than expected. Front desk people were accommodating, clean cut and friendly. Will be back.
Just to be clear, this is a 2 star hotel as far as location, style, etc but gets 5 stars for the quality of room and cost. You would be hard pressed to find a better room for the money. True, the whole lobby and parking underneath the rooms is a bit goofy, but the initial parking garage first impression didnt last. The check in was quick and the front desk person was very friendly, helpful and took the time to give me some local options on a very late dinner on a Sunday night. The rooms are all on the second floor with external door entries. While at first I was a bit put off by the look of it, I do have to admit that it was nice not having lights from cars parking or noise from people coming and going which is a typical issue with rooms facing the parking area (as it is underneath in this instance). The rooms appear to have been updated recently, with a wood looking tile floor throughout and newer looking fixtures and accents. I was really impressed with the quality and layout of the room. Its better than some 4 star near luxury style hotels I have stayed at. The breakfast is typical choice of cereal, bagels, some fruit, waffles or pancakes. Not bad, but not really good either. Overall, I think this hotel is excellent, especially for the price. I plan to stay here in the future when I am in town.
We stayed here for an event at the Giant Center and booked two rooms. The staff was polite and helpful, the rooms were large and clean, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast items were basic but good and the coffee plentiful. It was nice to have the elevator as well as the stairs and it is nice to have rooms with an outside walkway instead of an interior corridor. The parking under the hotel at ground level was convenient and this hotel is surrounded by restaurants to try. You can easily walk to three and it is a short distance to many more. Getting to Hersheys attractions from this hotel is easy. This hotel had the best price I could find and was a WIN all around. Highly Recommended.
We stayed 4 nights at Econolodge Hershey. The staff was very friendly. Kira was very helpful, and went above and beyond her duties to help try to rectify a credit card issue we had. The issue was not the motels fault, but they still tried to help. The staff were all very friendly. The room was clean, and service was great. The only disappoint was, we stayed here in April, they had a great hot breakfast. Breakfast has been downsized to cereal, bagels and toast, and a couple choices of pastry. But certainly wont deter us from coming back. There are also some wonderful places to eat, within walking distance.
Clean rooms, comfortable beds, incredible location close to everything in Hershey. If youre looking for somewhere to sleep and intend to spend your days out and about this is a great choice. I loved the modern style of the rooms, particularly the tile floors (no icky carpet) and tons of charging ports and outlets for our devices.
Our stay was exceptional especially when we were assigned a room and when we swiped our card and opened the door someone else belongings were still in there , The staff was great about getting us another room . Breakfast bar was nice , On the down side of the hotel staff , We had reserved a room with a credit card just to hold the room until our arrival and then we paid cash. The hotel staff still charged by card and this matter took several days to be reinbursed back to my accounting .
I was skeptical about booking at this hotel due to the chain name, but it had a great price and although there were only two reviews so far, they werent terrible. When I pulled up to the building, my wife was not impressed. It is an older looking Hotel but in a decent neighborhood. The staff at the front desk for check-in was very nice and the lobby itself was clean. So I was starting to get a good feel. Then I went upstairs and as I was walking to the room I wasnt overly impressed with the floors. They were a little bit cracked and peeling and the paint was old and needed to be done again. However, as soon as I opened the door to the room, I could see that all of the rooms we recently completely refurbished. Flat screen TVs on the walls, tile floors throughout which I prefer, new beds, brand new sink area and totally redone bathrooms. So it is certainly not the swankiest place I have ever stayed, but for the price it was very nice. Highly recommended. I was very appreciative of the bathrooms. The shower area was 100% new. It was refreshing to not see moldy corners and having a shower head that actually work and put out a nice stream of water. Probably the only complaint I could muster was not enough pillows or towels. But I think you will be very impressed with the facilities, especially for a quick one night stay taking the family to Hersheypark, which was the reason for our visit.
Rooms are quite comfortable a bit noisy. I checked in last Friday late at night all together we booked 6 rooms. I stay here at least 4 times a month due to its close proximity to the hospital. Our check in was horrendous. The guy at the front desk was so rude and downright obnoxious. He asked the most inappropriate questions to us ladies made us feel uncomfortable throughout the entire process. Management needs to train their front desk staff. Nigel had no common courtesy to realize that we were uncomfortable with the content of his jokes and questioning .Upon asking him to stop he got angry and obviously it set the tone for our stay . I usually recommend this place to friends and coworkers because of Prakash. I will not be doing so in the future to no one .Not friends family members or coworkers. I have never felt so humiliated and insulted by anyone in this industry . I suggest you get your staff the help he definitely needs . He certainly needs to know boundaries and keep it professional for anyone else before you lose more clientele. You have certainly lost us at the med center I intend to let them know before anyone has another experience like we did..
For a one star hotel I guess its ok. The plus is that its close to attractions but everything in Hershey is close. Exterior looks rough but inside the rooms are clean. Motel was not crowded while we stayed. I thought for breakfast it would be standard breakfast fare but nothing hot. Just cereal, bread, and waffle maker.
We had a good experience here. I was weary because it is inexpensive, and you usually get what you pay for, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, which is #1 for me, the amenities were fine (mini fridge, ironing board, hair dryer, large screen tv, etc) two queen-sized beds, temperature control, USB outlets, a desk, drawer space. You have to keep in mind that youre not paying much, so expect a no-frills room, but it didnt look or feel cheap. Ive been in rooms that looked and felt cheap, and this was different. Parking wasnt a problem, and there are restaurants literally right across the street, so that was convenient. And its pet-friendly! We went while it was under construction, but that wasnt an issue. I liked it here, I would book another room with the Econo Lodge.
The hotel doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the room we stayed in (for pet owners) was renovated, very clean and spacious. The beds were super comfortable and so were the pillows. Not what you’d expect at a motel. The manager (owner ?) was such a nice person and everyone we met was very friendly. The location was perfect for Chocolate world and Hersheypark, plus many stores and eateries are nearby. The breakfast is your typical continental fare with muffins, bagels, toast and waffle machine, plus yogurt and cereal. Coffee was pretty good too. (Only a warning if you have a pet with you: make sure you let them know in advance that you need a pet room. They only have 4 and if they run out, you’re out of luck). I would definitely recommend this Econo lodge.
I have been to 3 star places with worse rooms.Newly updated rooms with more to come, apparently. Very limited amenities, just what is essential such as ice + very nice in room stuff (view the photos). Free breakfast is limited a bit with few non-grain foods. Parking under 2 floors of rooms. Areas outside the rooms are worn and not as appealing.
We took a trip down to Hershey Pennsylvania to see the Hershey factory. You decided to stay in the Econo Lodge because it had great reviews and had just renovated the rooms. Now apparently I booked the wrong day but the lady was super helpful at a desk in the evening and she moved my schedule time over and it wasnt very much difference in Pay. I believe her name is Kira. the place is very clean and very very quiet and the rooms were completely renovated. Well almost completely renovated except for the fact that they kept the old air conditioners that look like they belong in Rundown Motel 6s. And hopefully the management sees this and decides to put some anti-slip guard in the bathtub because all of us almost slipped while taking a shower, separately of course. That could potentially lead to a Big lawsuit. The only other thing I did not like was the lady at the front desk in the morning because we were not feeling good and we needed a little extra time to check out and I asked about a late check-out and with it disgusting attitude she only gave us 30 extra minutes. So Im kind of torn with wanting to go back to that place because the lady in the evening Kira or Kiara was super super super nice but the lady in the morning was very disrespectful and not understanding when it came to us you didnt a little extra time to get ready. My daughter was extremely sick and I needed to give her a bath we had to rush because she only gave us 30 minutes to get out.
This is a very nice hotel that is close to all the Hersey attractions. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. It doesnt look great from outside, but the rooms look like they are newer furnishings. The only issue was the door hinges in the bathroom. The hotel is across from Hersey Trauma Hospital. Unfortunately, the Medical Helicopter takes off and lands too much. Not very quiet. The minuses are that they charge $20 a night for dogs (we have never been charged that much for a little dog)The site says that there is a GYM, HOT TUB, and a POOL..The hotel DOESNT have any of those amenities. The website should be changed! I would return, but not with my dog.
Great rooms, convenient location for Hershey attractions, and three restaurants within walking distance. Clean rooms, air conditioners work well, and beds were comfortable. The refrigerator was nice to keep drinks cold. There were enough electrical outlets and USB connections. The continental breakfast was great and the manager keeps the area clean and items restocked as items are consumed. The price was affordable. There is no fitness center, however.
Normal hotel room. Two beds, one side chair, and a desk and office chair. Fairly clean....baseboards, vent in bathroom, shower curtain, and the area behind the ironing board seemed to be overlooked for a while and were quite dusty, but the beds, tub, and sink, and floors seemed clean. The chair to sit in in the room was horribly uncomfortable. A large blue box of a chair with no padding, the other chair was a desk chair so basically the only place to sit and relax was the bed. The tv had a thick blue line down a third of the screen. You could see the picture, but it was discolored. It worked for a long weekend but wasnt the most comfortable room Ive ever been in. Breakfast was just fair, but is free. The breakfast room was very clean and was constantly being cleaned. The people working there could not have been any nicer. Very friendly. The wi-fi worked fairly well. Just a bare bones hotel....no pool, no workout room, not even a lobby or any outside space to sit and relax in. A basic, fairly clean place to sleep that is close to Hershey Park.
I am a night shift nurse and was anticipating bad weather overnight. I called ahead to ask if they would be able to accommodate me after my shift during daytime hours, and they said they would. Once I got there, they refused to allow me inside stating they dont accept people like me because of covid. He then slammed the door in my face. Im not sure if by that he meant that he thought all nurses are contaminated with covid, or if he was referring to nightshift workers in general not being able to sleep there, but I am absolutely livid about the experience. He was rude, threw me back out into the streets during an ice storm, and lied to me on the phone the previous day. Do not offer this place your business.
I booked a room for two nights for the Hershey Half Marathon and for checking out the Hershey area. This is really minutes away from Hershey World, Hershey Stadium and Indian Echo Caverns as well as many restaurants. The bed was comfortable and bathroom very clean. The heating/AC unit was quiet enough and gets the room cozy in minutes. There is also a complimentary breakfast along with a sweet waffle maker. No complaints, plenty of praise for the friendly staff.
The guy that runs this place is one of the most attentive, hard working hospitality managers Ive ever met. Very clean and well maintained. There is even a great breakfast! For an inexpensive hotel right next to Hershey Lodge and the Med Center, this is a great option!
I knew going in it wasn’t a 5 start hotel, but they recently upgraded it I think. New paint, redone bathroom. It was clean and overall was pretty nice. A little noisy bc the doors connect outside, but that’s to be expected where it is located. I was a little worried bc the outside is a little rough, but like I said, the rooms are nice.
Perfect location, the outside is misleading. It looks dated, but the rooms are clean and modern. There was a min-fridge and a microwave in the room. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby and breakfast is included. If you need a place to stay and dont care about a pool etc. this place is well worth it!
I recently stayed at the hotel and I must say I would stay again. Rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and very approachable, and its near everything in the Hershey area. The front desk girls where very nice especially one that was very sweet and very nice. I think her name was Abby she was very nice and just a sweetheart. I would be staying here again for my next trip.
Was told online the price would be $63 a night but we got there and they charged us $79 !!! Everything was good there until we pull the sheets down I dont know about you but it look as if they werent changed cause there were hairs all over the fitted bed sheets!!! Towards the bath room it smelt really musky like wet towels we only stayed there for a total of 36 hours and was charged $177 total !!! We both left there with a head cold not sure if it was from the vent or musky smell but who knows it may have been just allergies? I wish they would have said there is optional stay like $63 is with one bed and $79 is with 2 beds we only needed one bed and they gave us 2 plus we paid $79 for that room so ask them what are the prices dont assume they will give you the cheapest!!! I would stay again only because it is right beside the hospital which is the reason we stayed to begin with just wish it was cheaper!!!
When booking date it said few room available so I booked right away. That night /next morning 3am not many cars,? Very pricey for no extra wow breakfast. We had better last place and pool,. And work out room as well. Most upsetting was waking up at 3am too the phone wake up call set by previous people no one cleared. I did get Im sorry. Ya I am up now . thanks.I actually set up one for 8 am so I thought that changed the time I had heard when setting it didnt know because I have never had too set it up always call front desk.Lady at check in when we asked questions about local places later that evening seemed very unfriendly.Wont be back rather spend the extra $And know Im with friends.
Never judge anything by its cover. Incredible staff (I think her name is Kira) at front desk when arriving, and super helpful. Room is updated, very clean!! It’s an Econolodge - you’re not staying here for high end amenities, it would be unfair to expect it. It’s the best Econolodge I’ve ever stayed at. GREAT and I’d 100% stay again!
Stayed here a lot of times , really really good place , they renovated the place so nice , the room it’s really cleaned and the beds are really really comfortable no complaints for the BEDS ! Will come back for sure every time ! Best place to stay in Hershey and really really good stuff and continental breakfast also ! The bathroom it’s so nice and clean to ! Brand New Rooms ! Recommend for everybody !
Book this hotel because it’s pet friendly and close to where I needed. Booked 2 months before my trip. Then 2 weeks before the trip I get an email telling me that I have a non pet friendly room and they can’t accept my dogs!? They also spelled my name wrong and put that it’s for 2 nights instead of 4 nights despite having the dates correct. Called to talk to them and was told there was nothing I can do and that my room is non refundable!
Where do I begin, we got out of our car and saw 2 dead rats in the parking lot. What a pleasant start... The lobby wreaked of smoke and there was only 1 luggage cart in the whole lodge. The lady in the lobby was very rude. The room had a bug on the ceiling and the air conditioner kept turning on and off throughout the night. The wifi was horrible, and the hair dryer smelled like horse feces. The beds were very uncomfortable and hurt our backs. The chair had an unknown stain on it and there was chewed gum in the nightstand. I do NOT recommend the Econo lodge, especially if you have kids.
I stayed here as a cheaper alternative to the official hotel, the Hershey Lodge. The rooms here were far from glamorous but certainly totally fine. Everything was clean and quite pleasant. The free breakfast was a nice aspect, but Id avoid the muffins, which were pretty stale. Id recommend staying here for any event held at the Hershey Lodge to save some money. It is literally a 4 minute walk--out the back side of Econo Lodges property, around a couple parking lots, then through the Hershey Lodge parking lot, and into entrance R by HL room 1600.
DO NOT STAY HERE!We stayed in April and have been fighting a $100 smoking charge ever since - we are asthmatic and have never smoked in our lives. Management lied - Add that we booked a room with 2 Queen beds and was given a room with 2 doubles, no breakfast at the time due to construction, and a broken shower head.Beware and if you have stayed here check your credit card!!
Room interior was very nice and was recently remodeled. The rest of the building is still undergoing renovations and they cause a huge hindrance to ones routine. Management didnt seem very up to date in terms of knowledge on what was going on and relayed poor information.
The place has had major renovations done to the inside and is very nice. Everything in our room was new and very clean. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It’s a great value that bridges the gap between the expensive places and other places that were at the lower price point that we were not comfortable trying. Our room had a fridge and a microwave oven. If you have pets they even have rooms designated for pet owners. They even have a waffle machine in the breakfast area. Huge Huge Huge Plus for me!!!5 Star Value Hotel – I have listed this as 5 stars because I feel this is a value hotel that deserved 5 stars. This is a great value hotel, but it isn’t a high end hotel that costs twice as much as this. If you are looking for a high end hotel then go stay in a high end hotel. To give them 3 stars because you were looking for a high end hotel isn’t fair. This is a 5 star value hotel not the Trump Plaza.Highway Sounds – I saw something about highway sound possibly being an issue in another post. The closest Highway is right up the block Rt. 422. We were there in July (peak season) and the highway had practically no traffic on it. The only time I even heard the cars going buy was when I was in the parking lot close to the highway. Our room was on the back of the building and I was listening to birds and bugs in the trees and didn’t hear any cars. We stayed in the hotel a couple of weeks later and were on the front side of the building. This time we did hear the cars when the morning rush hour kicked in. That being said it wasn’t that bad. If some car noise bothers you then you might want to request a room on the back side of the hotel.Room Noise – As a rule I always leave the fan running on our room Heat Pump units because I like the white noise. I especially do that at night because I am a light sleeper at times. That being said I think the only noise I heard from the rooms next to us was when I heard a bathroom door close hard one morning. Other than that I don’t remembering hearing anything else.Owners – The new owners are a young married couple that are super nice. While we were there the wife was running the front desk during the day. They are super friendly and I am looking forward to seeing them again.Places to eat – There is a BBQ place right next to this that we were told was good. We went there, but there was a 40 minute wait on a Saturday night. As a result we tried the Italian place right behind the hotel. The food and service were awesome.1 John 4:9-11 - In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Stayed here while visiting Hershey. If you are coming from the West its easy to get to, from the East is trickier as you cant turn left off the road that way. The hotel is elevated with parking underneath the rooms. Only the office and lobby are on the ground floor. The room we stayed in had been recently redone and I thought was pretty nice. Especially for the price. The breakfast is standard hotel fare with a waffle maker. Some bananas and cereal, muffins and bagels. A juice maching and milk. Yogurt, etc... The big minus here is size. Very few people can fit in the room and with only night people you are getting in each others way. Our door didnt want to lock easily. We had to slam it shut to get it fully closed. Positive:. Room in good condition and covered parking. Negative: breakfast room size and doors.
Really well done and cleaned up. I got stuck in a snow storm and originally couldnt get in until 3. Prakesh was understanding and allowed me in early so I could work and not drive in the storm more. 5 stars and the room is very clean and adequate to work in. 100% recommend for business commuters for value! Prakesh was amazing!
This is by far the worst Choice Hotel I have ever stayed at. The only clean items in the room were the mattress and pillows. All of the remaining furniture was either stained or had some form of dirt crusted on it. There were gray hairs all over the ottoman and chair. In the bathroom, there were multiple hairs on the toilet seat, on the floor, and even on the toilet paper itself. The bathtub had not been cleaned at all. You could see gray foot prints inside of it along with soap scum and more hairs. The vanity/sink had toothpaste spots, and there was toothpaste on the mirror. The floor had what looked like crushed cereal on it, the carpet was coming apart and had multiple holes. There was dirt all over the walls. I pulled the pillows back, and there was what looked like beer or coffee splashed behind where out pillowed were placed. I sincerely doubt that the cleaning staff did anything to prepare this room aside from changing the sheets. Now, I understand this is not the Ritz-Carlton and I was offered a very affordable rate. I am willing to overlook the bad carpets, stain on the furniture, those basic types of things since I only was booked to stay one night. But when I come into a room and see dirt, hair, crumbs, dirty walls, etc. it not only makes you feel uncomfortable, but unsanitary. I will be avoiding Choice Hotels in the future. Every time I stay at one, its the same old story. Im tired of the constant neglect of standard cleanliness. Ill spend more money in the future to stay at nicer, cleaner establishments.
We choose this particular motel, because it within 10 minutes of Hershey Park. We had to book two nights because the motel does not offer a late check out. After the experience, we should have paid more to stay at Hershey Hotel.Where do I begin? The first night stay was horrible. We found the sink to be clogged when washing mulch residue from our hands. My husband is an aborist; he likes to examine the mulch and soil content to find nematodes and mycelium. The bed sunk in, like a hammock; needless to say, neither my husband nor I received a decent night sleep. The following morning, we planned to enjoy a free continental breakfast from the lodge. Upon entering the office, where the breakfast islocated, we were greeted with an unpleasant aroma of cigarette smoke. My husband made a comment about the stench and the GM replied that she smoked. No apologies there. We requested another room with an adequate bed mattress. She was able to accommodate our request. As for the breakfast, the cereal was stale, as were the bagels. We did not end up staying two nights as planned. Two days after our Hershey Adventure, I checked the balance of the bank account to ensure the pending Econo Lodge transaction had been complete. To our surprise, the lodge had charged the account three times the original amount agreed upon, which was $198 for two nights. They claimed we had a pet, due to mulch in both rooms, and charged a deep clean fee of $461.00. I can understand how mulch could be perceived as having a pet, however, we traveled without our 4-legged companions this trip.As for the clogged sink from the first night stay, we were charged $127.00 for its repair, as well!We will never return to this Econo Lodge, nor any other affiliated motels. Heed warning from our experience prior to booking with this particular motel.Oh.. did I mention stumbling upon a used condom in the parking lot? Classy.
I wouldnt refer anyone to go and stay here . When i got to my room wasnt clean there was hair (not from someones head) in the room. I got another room, that room still wasnt cleaned. Im glad i had cleaning supplies. I cleaned up the room . The next morning i found other peoples clothing in . I didnt say anything because i was only staying one more night and didnt want to be moved to another room to clean that one also. When i checked out i told the lady at check in and she got tthe manager. She told me the 1st room was clean . She was rude and basically calling me a liar . There was much more wrong with the rooms but thats just the start.
I’m still yet to receive a call from the management.Horrible check in experience Migul at the front desk had the worst customer service ever.Simple question turned in him asking my wife personal questions for about 10 minutes while he checked us in . That’s the most uncomfortable check in . I come here for business almost 3 times a month for the year . Everyone else is so nice but he always has some type of aggressive attitude. Personally I don’t think I’ll be visiting this location again due to your staff rude customer service . I think management needs to train their staff what’s acceptable to as a customer.
Horrible staff at the front desk.Poor customer service. We checked in Friday night with friends and family.Rude not helpful whatsoever. I have been visiting here a couple times a year and never again . Rooms are comfortable but you need to work on your staff at night. Would not be back .
I can’t say enough good things about this place!! It was just what we were looking for, which was a place to stay over in between days at Hersheypark. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager during check in, who was honestly one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. All throughout our stay he would play with the kids and try to make them smile. During breakfast my 7 year old touched the hot waffle iron and burned 2 of his fingertips. The manager ran to get a first aid kit and helped to put burn cream and bandaids on him. He also went and got him a bowl of ice to put his fingers into and helped to keep him calm. He was definitely a welcoming, gracious host and we will always look to stay here for future trips.
The good: the room was very clean, the staff was friendly, it was right across the street from a yummy BBQ restaurant, and the breakfast was a quick easy option as we had to hit the road early. The bad: you can hear the toilet and showers from other rooms, it is right on the road so you can hear street traffic which was loud. If you are a light sleeper, this isn’t the place for you.
Horrible. Started out having no heat in the room. So they tried to fix it for a hour before arguing with them about getting another room. Also at 7:30am on a Sunday they allowed a construction crew to work on the building. Waking everyone up and all they say is sorry for the inconvenience. Horrible hotel. I would suggest a different one.

2022-04-20This place was great! First things first, the outside is not like some resort. Its a motel, deal with it. The room was AWESOME. Comfy bed, wonderful pillows, A/c worked winter wonders! If I could give 6 stars I would. I needed to be close to the hospital and that it was ! The 2 front desk employees I encountered were amazing. After my two night reservation, I chose to go day by day waiting for my person to be discharged from the hospital. They were so kind and offered their prayers every time I had to renew the room.

2022-06-17The Escape Inn was perfect for my wife and I and our two grandsons. It was very convenient to Hershey Park and very well maintained. I was very pleased that it is one place that offers you a fair price for great accommodations. Saved us about $100 over a chain hotel. The room was very clean. The beds and pillows were great! Front desk staff were pleasant, smiling and very willing to help you.If youre looking for glitz and glitter, this is not the place for you.But. If youre looking for clean, comfort, affordable and close to the park, THIS IS the place for you!I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

2022-02-27I would not hesitate to stay here again if Im in the area. It is not fancy or modern. But my goodness it is clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and pleasant. Bonus that there is good food to the left and right of the parking lot within about a 30 second walking distance. And the location is great to the fun things around the area.

2022-05-03We had a great time staying here when we needed to be closer to a family member who was hospitalized at Hershey Medical Center. The rooms were clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful! The location is also really great for getting to multiple attractions in and around the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Would definitely stay here again!

2022-06-29My boyfriend & i stayed this past weekend at this hotel/ inn and from the outside, it’s not a 5 star resort but the inside makes up for it. the rooms are very very clean and nice and i adored the face wipe in the room. the reason however my rating isn’t a 5 is because of our 2 night stay, our first night we had some….. encounters?first being i was sitting on the bed while my boyfriend was laying down and he happened to look up and there was a guy. a random man just staring at us and when my boyfriend looked over, he ran away. we don’t know how long he was there but needless to say, it made us uncomfortable and was not a solid start to the stay. then around 2 am, some kids (maybe 14ish?) decided it would be fun to run around the 2nd floor and kick all the doors. which of course woke us up along with startled me due to the prior event.i know these are not the hotels fault, but they were just plain creepy.besides this, front desk was nice both for check in and check out.

2022-06-24We were on our trip back home, this was our last night on the road. The staff were very helpful and informative. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a restful night. There was no breakfast so we went to a diner a short trip down the road.

2022-06-14Pleasantly surprised how nice and updated the rooms are here! Convenient when seeing a show at the Giant Center. Both staff members we met were nice. The Italian restaurant nextdoor was a 1-minute walk and very delicious.

2022-02-04Positive: Hotel was close to where I needed to be. Staff gave me the handicap room because I told them when I booked that I had mobility issues. The room provided everything I needed and it was clean. Negative: I did not care for the microfiber sheets. Cotton sheets should always be the standard.
