Extended Stay America - Philadelphia - Bensalem in Bensalem
Extended Stay America - Philadelphia - Bensalem in other cities:
This hotel met our basic needs of a mostly comfortable bed, running water, and very close to the Parx Casino. However, the long-term residents were clearly undeterred by the $250 smoking fine (all the hallways smelled strongly of pot), all of the furniture in the room was on the edge of breakdown (some held together with Scotch tape), and the toilet ran constantly (there was an issue with the flapper that required us to refill the tank immediately before flushing). This wasnt our worst hotel experience but were not rushing to stay here in the future.
I understand that everywhere is severely understaffed, but a lot of OTHER hotels are still somehow making it work. Our room was in major need of maintenance with a missing drawer in the kitchenette, a constantly running toilet, and beds that creaked and wobbled. Check in was fine, with courteous staff, but check out was absurd with no one being at the front desk and a line growing of people at 10:45am. Check out is at 11....stop making your staff do 90 other jobs when they should be readily available to do their actual job of GUEST SERVICES. I would not recommend this establishment unless you are desperate.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The people at front desk dont know what the company policies are so you will get different answers depending on whos stationed at the front desk. Customer service is nonexistent. Full blown attitude head roll/eye roll for simply asking if I could pay i cash or if the credit card was required. I got into the room on the first floor the windows were open mosquitos in the room due to the window being open. Dust and mold in the a/c unit and in vents sink in kitchenette was leaking toilet did not fully flush and ran ALL night. There were no coffee makers or any cooking utilities and the two burners were completely rusted. The floor was sticky as if something had been spilled and just mopped around. The people upstairs were incredibly loud until a little past midnight and I called front desk multiple times on my cell because the room phone didnt work (it was plugged in) the entire premise reeked of marijuana and cigarettes. The bed sheets were stained and looked like the bed had simply been made and not cleaned. The bathroom tub was yellow and there was hair in the drain. Overall the worst experience I stayed there due to not being able to find another hotel I was in town for 2 nights all we did was uncomfortably stay there overnight two nights so that we didnt have to sleep with my toddler in the car.
The hotel was not that good . U could not get any before 6pm from the some of the staff. You have to get toaster from the front desk you have to get dish from the front desk. They dont make you were mask while in the hotel. The staff dont wear there mask. The room are not clean . They have a pest problem. But there are some staff that do try to help and very nice. They need more cleaning staff to keep up the hotel. If you would like the room clean you have pay extra. Dusting is not done at all. The out side need paint the window coving are hanging off . They allow pet in hotel . But when dog is barking all-night long that not good . My experience was not all. Please re think your decision before coming here. There ideas of full kitchen is micwave and to burn tops not a full kitchen . This location not good at all!!!!
Alicia was terrible got upset because she had to refund my card that was charged twice. Dont go here if you booking thru priceline they wasnt taught how to charge priceline so they will charge you. Out of all the hotels I traveled to in America this is the only one that doesnt know how to reserve a room properly.
This is a horrible experience. I came to check in around 9pm, waited more than 15 min without seen anyone in front desk. Called hotel and their people could not find staff. A lady finally came in, seen me in front desk, and was asked if she works here. She is apparently know I am not happy but not apologized for not taken care customer. She pretend not to see me and waited much more time. I final able to provide my ID , and told her I have to complain of the treatment. She through out my ID and not to check me in. I called police and had to find place mid of night. Do not come to this place. Never in my life ever stayed such place.
Positive: The price was good and it was conveniently located. The beds were pretty comfy. Its a clean & decent budget hotel. The staff was pleasant. Negative: It would have been nice to have coffee available in the morning, at least in the lobby if not in-room coffeemakers.
Yesterday I arrived at the Bensalem location for checking in approximately 5pm. Got to the front desk and the receptionist was typing something on her phone and did not acknowledge my presence for almost three minutes. Finally got to the room and the carpet had so many stains. Couldnt believe what I was seeing. I got up the next morning and went to the lobby to get some breakfast. It was the worst complimentary breakfast I have seen at any other hotel I have visited.
Stayed here for almost two months for a nursing contract and my experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff was VERY attentive to all of my needs, each and every one of them, my room was cleaned to perfection and not to mention the hotel. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
I needed a place for one night that allowed dogs. Unfortunately, this place was a big disappointment and I was glad to check out after only one stay. The room smelled like smoke (even though it was supposed to be non-smoking), my sheets were dirty, and my phone didnt work. The front office only had one employee to handle everything. He was polite and did his best, but he clearly needed more help. I would recommend avoiding this hotel, if you have other options.
Everything was good until we had a shipping problem. They couldnt extend our stay so we had to check out and get another hotel. Staff told us about a package after we checked out. Then we realize we were missing a second package and they said they didnt have it. Even worst they had attitude. They kept saying no. We dont have it. We gave it to you. Nothing. We go there personally and ask again. Then a employee described exactly what was in the box and said i thought it was for me, lol. What made me mad was the front desk not helping at all. Gave us a face like what do you want and why are you bothering me. Only when we got there and pressed did they finally know what the heck we were talking about. Im sure I would have found my $400 hvlp spray gun on Craigs list eventually. On sale brand new for $200. SMH.
The place is a one night stay. A good smell of musty when you walk in had to air it out for a few hours. Everything was old style and bed was smelling too. Everything else was ok. Shower head was fine. Stove is broken tho. Update will be needed if you want to make customers happy.
Kind, pleasant and accommodating staff who are professional enough considering that it isnt a five star hotel, but a normal everyday comfortable place to stay at very reasonable rates. The rooms are clean and well stocked. They also have an on-site laundry facility where you can wash and dry your clothes without having to drive to a laundromat, or even leave the confines of the hotel. They also allow pets, which is good because I am often mistaken for one... This hotel also gets 5 arfs from my dog and is Tobin approved...we like it here!
Positive: Nothing I left the hotel and they took my money for 2 night which i paid in full! Very very bad experience Negative: Everything was horrible the hotel so dirty and the plugs came off also the cooling system so loud! I stayed 30 min then i left the Hotel, also I get allergy from laying on pillow for 15 min and i am now have to do check up with Dermatologist
Made a reservation on hotels.com, got there at 10pm and was told they couldn’t find our reservation in their system and they were at capacity. We went to a different hotel, and the next morning found that we were charged for our stay, despite being told we weren’t in their system. Very long story short, after a callTo the hotel, hotels.com, and our bank, I called back the hotel and went straight to the manager. She asked for my name and confirmation and said we were a “no show.” Which was infuriating because that means the front desk lady lied to us and we were in their system. Thankfully the manager refunded our money without much issue, but that front desk person needs a new job. She literally had myName spelled out for her and then physically took my phone to see the confirmation email and number and still told us we weren’t in the system. This would be one star if it weren’t for the manager, though she never apologized, just refunded it. Based on reviews, sounds like maybe it was for the better we stayed elsewhere anyway.
We had 2 rooms booked. It is 8/2 and Elevator is broken because of a recent storm. A 6/25 review by a customer stated that the elevator was broken then. We are on the 3rd floor. There are no kitchen amenities available AT ALL because they are all taken. No utensils, no cookware, no plates, no coffeemaker, NOTHING. Floor is sticky dirty, shoeprints are visible. The entire 3rd floor is permeated with the smell of weed. No breakfast as advertised. Used condom on the 2nd floor landing of the stairwell. In room phones not working in either room. There is a drawer in kitchen completely missing but I guess thats ok because theres nothing to put in it anyway.
Thankfully they where able to accommodate us and allow us to check in early, the room had a strong sense of cleaner that eventually dissipated exposing the smell of urine and cigarette smoke. Rooms had other peoples hair on the sheets and damage to the room itself without any repair in quite sometime. If you do check in, you only have 15 minutes to check blackout before you eat your money.
IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE GARBAGE, BOOK HERE. When a front desk person speaks to her senior citizen guest with zero respect and tells her she has an attitude problem there is seriously something wrong with the quality in the hotels hiring process. This should not be a first impression of a hotel and it unfortunately was for my family member who dealt with this upon her check in on August 3. The hotel should think about what kind of customer service training they can provide their employees because who knows who else dealt with this type of service. You can blame being short staffed and the rooms not being up to standards on COVID (which they were sub-par) but you CANNOT blame this type of treatment on COVID. No one should be spoken to in this way - especially from a front desk receptionist who is PAID to provide the best customer service. The only 5 star aspect about this experience was Alicia, the front desk Assistant Manager. She was really great and was able to help smooth out this experience at the end.
This hotel is hands down the best hotel in the area. After a horrible experience at the Red Roof Inn in Trevose, I decided to come stay at the extended stay. At the front desk both Alexis and Alicia were top notch. The maintenance men at this location were ready and willing to help with anything that I needed, however, nothing was needed both rooms that I stayed in were clean fully stocked and exceptionally comfortable. I would highly recommend to any of my friends or family staying at this hotel they truly make you feel like you are checking into a home away from home. Thank you to everyone at the extended stay Bensalem for making my trip as comfortable as humanly possible.
This hotel is a living nightmare. The moment we walked in the hotel was nasty and stank. Customer service was ghetto. The lampshade in the room look like a crime scene happened with splatters all over it. There was dirt all in the corner above the kitchen stove filthy. The bed sheets was on backwards. There was stuff all over the headboard and nail polish on the dresser. It was so unbelievable that I asked for full refund and I took pictures to show that this hotel should be shut down.
Positive: Nice ammenities. Negative: When I got there there was no one at the front desk. I had to wait 10 minutes before someone showed up. In the evening when I had a issue with my room key there was no one at the front desk, waited 30 minutes only to find staff sleeping in diff room.
Although there is a pandemic, let me tell y’all the customer service I received from the front desk was lovely. Front desk agent Alechia was so polite. She kept me laughing and she treated me like family. From an extended stay hotel that’s what you would expect. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable for the week I stayed. My room was clean. I enjoyed my stay. Hope they are giving their workers essential pay because they really deserve it. Anything I needed they made it happen. I’ll be staying again
The worst experience of my life and I didn’t even get to check into the room! Upon making my reservation, I was told the upfront costs would be the price of the pet fee (as I was bringing 2 pets), and the first week. That I could pay week two at the end of week one or anytime sooner. Upon arriving at about 4pm to check in, packed car, and a cat. I enter the facility and saw the clerk randomly walking around, huffing and puffing as if she is aggravated. I stood and waited to be greeted but I wasn’t so I said, “Hi, I’m Meghan and I am here to check in”. I had my license, AAA card, and Debit card in my hand. She looked up at me and asked me for my license and debit card. She then took my license and debit card. While looking at the computer she said “How are you?” (The manner in which she spoke was she was only saying it because she has to but really did not want to work or assist people.). She then gave me the total for the 2 week stay that I reserved including pet fees. And I stated “Yes, and I was told the upfront costs would be 1 week and pet fees for both weeks.” She stated no the total amount due is $$$$$. I said, “then why was I told differently when I reserved? I would have planned around it.” The clerk said to call whoever I talked to. I explained that it was a rep over the phone and asked her if it told her in the computer who booked the reservation for me. Any way, she just kept escalating and refusing to help me until she body checked me our of her way. She then followed me outside making threats that she would run up fraudulent charges on my credit card and said she would beat me up if I was to every stay at an extended stay. I ended reporting the assault to the police. Trashiest place around!
I travel a lot and my stay here was great. The receptionist Alexis was very nice, pleasant and friendly. The staff was very helpful, professional and friendly. The Maintenance Technician took care of a minor repair that i caused within minutes of me calling and was very understanding and friendly as well. They make you feel like family while you are here and will go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I would and will recommend this hotel to anyone
Upon my arrival to this particular hotel, i was greeted by a upbeat and energetic Manager/Alexis. Check in was fast and easy, being from out of town Alexis also suggested a few option for entertainment and food. Although some prior reviews didnt show the hotel in a good light. My room was clean, bed tightly made with forty five degrees angle (you could bounce a quater off the bed). I hope this company takes pride in their employees because Alexis is truly a valuable asset to making your hotel flourish!
Disgusting hotel! Room smelled like smoke. Paper thin walls and ceilings and the person above me walked around all night which is why I’m writing a review at 4 am. Maybe there was toilet paper somewhere but not in my room. Just a sheet on the bed, which was probably a good thing.
I had a wonderful stay at this Extended America. Everyone was really nice and welcoming, especially the front desk agent Steph. She helped with a couple difficulties I was facing and made sure my room was stocked with rags, towels, and fresh linens. Overall, I had a great stay!
Do not go too. The worst experience we have ever had from booking on line.Very trashy, dirty, broken furniture, microwave and water leaking from the wall under sink. When I took a towel to wipe up floor,it turned Black. Our feet stuck to floor! Sink and Refrigerator were dirty as Hell! The pictures on line did not match anything in the room.Front desk was polite but we could not get a refund. People were partying all outside. As soon as I walked in ,for my hubby went in to get the room we book first,,which he can not see well,, I went in after and boy,was it not even decent with mantience,,,or cleanliness. Still waiting to hear from management. I GOT OUT OF THERE RIGHT AWAY. See attached photos. Ps. Hubby told me that they did not have us registered and we payed on line. Booking.com OWES us! Not cool at all. We are from out of state.
About as bad as you could get. The shower was broken, there were no plates or cutlery in the kitchenette, the elevator was not working, there is a moldy smell, the internet was very slow and then went down completely, and the chair for the desk was broken. Not a good experience.
Really bad. 1. Sometimes the wifi goes out for no exact reason. 2. Employees have poor customer service. 3. Roaches everywhere. Also beware. Its a lot of creeps/weirdos that hang out in the stairwells. So If you’re coming with kids and they want to go outside, have them take the elevator. And sometimes the hallways smell. Ive had a room with a carpet and It was filthy. I don’t recommend. Try the Radisson instead. Although Its in a very convenient area. There are restaurants, a casino, a mall, and more.
Threw my things out while cleaning my room when I had like 6 more days left in my stay. Not sure how the cleaners didn’t communicate with the front desk. Called manager named Unique and she said she will get back to me in 2-3 days but its been over like 1-2 weeks now and no call back. Luckily everything wasn’t worth over $150 but still feels sad that I lost my things due to the hotel’s errors. Be careful about keeping things in your room if you stay here.
Our company always book us at Extended Stay when we have on going work/projects and this is one of the best Extended Stay that we’ve stayed at.It is clean, quiet, and peaceful and the staff here are all extremely kind, friendly, and just outright wonderful. We had an issue with the sink in our first room and we received keys to our new room within minutes of reporting it!Excellent customer service and I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a clean place to stay and get good night rest.
The staff at this hotel are exceptional.... They made my stay feel like home.. My kids love the staff also... Anything we needed was handled in a timely manner. The rooms was great. The set in the room makes it feel like home. I stayed at the hotel for a while with my children and we love it. This will be our go to place when we need a break from home. ThankYou guys for being such wonderful people to me and my kids and we will be back😘😘
MAY 2021Don’t even know where to start… I stayed here with my infant and definitely had guilt the entire time for bringing her into an environment like this. First, I called a day before my reservation to confirm. The front desk never answered the phone until the morning of my trip. It just kept going to the answering service because it would ring for so long. To be clear I called a couple of times an hour, for about 6 hours. The room: just look at the photos. Sneaker marks on the hvac unit. Stains all over the carpet. Chips in every piece of wood furniture. The shelf in the closet is broken and just laying there… oh! And a cord is coming out of the bottom of the AC unit… definitely had to continuously tell my daughter it’s not a toy nor is it food. Same with the shelf. The appliances are rusty and DIRTY, as if they don’t have bleach to wipe it down. The shower curtain rod has clearly been moved but the holes weren’t repaired. On the ceiling, it looks like rust… right over the shower, yuck! Can’t forget the garnish of SOMEONE ELSES TRASH LEFT ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR next to something rusty hanging from the bathroom sink pipes. I’ve stayed in other extended stays and they were absolutely nothing like this. In fact, if this was my first time staying here I would NEVER book a room with ESH or ESA… or maybe it’s just this franchise owner in particular ruining the esa name. Such a disappointment especially since it’s right across from the casino. This is definitely a crime scene.
Room reeked of cigarette smoke. Service was... silent to say the least. Things were worn down but not the worst. Theres no complementary coffee or breakfast right now, (although apparently that may come back eventually). If you can afford something a bit more definitely go for it. Learned my lesson.
This is Mitch Lehrer. I had an unfortunate experience last time I was there which was about a week ago. I was given a room at 4PM and left a half our later to go to the casino. When I came back around 1:30AM there were other people in my room and my belongings were brought to the front desk. I mentioned this situation when I checked out the following day and the lady was very sympathic and offered me a 15% discount. A few days later I called back and said that 15% wasnt enough. The manager said she would see what she could do. Two days ago I received a voucher for a complimentry night. I feel that this was a very classy, professional thing to do. I am very satisfied with how this was handled and I will continue to patronize this hotel. A big thank you to the team at Extended Stay Bensalem!!
The woman that checked me in was great! But the rooms are old! Nothing nice about them. Looks nothing like the pictures. Half the light fixtures don’t work. Hallway smells, drug addicts all over, no cameras outside so I had to keep getting up to check my car! Says breakfast included but soon as we got here she made sure to tell us it was nothing serious. I’m giving it 2 stars because of the staff member I dealt with cause I wanted to give 1!! First and last time staying here!!!
First of all, I would like to say that the staff here at the Extended Stay America go above and beyond What is expected of them To make you feel accepted and comfortable. If you have a problem, they go out of their way to resolve it in a timely fashion. The View around the hotel has been absolutely amazing. Plenty of opportunity to see the wildlife in the area. I personally feel it is very peaceful and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone. I want to give a special Thanks to the manager Monique and to all the staff that work the front desk. They really do an amazing job. Thank you.
The price is okay and didnt really expect much from a 2-star hotel but the floors are quite thin and you could definitely hear footsteps above you. There was not enough shampoo and soap for two people. One redeeming quality was that there was toothpaste at the front desk. The lady in the front desk was nice. The carpets are pretty dirty. The worst part of the stay however was the breakfast. I was expecting some kind of breakfast because we were promised breakfast but the breakfast was coffee/tea and granola bars... At least provide us with some juice and bagels / muffins but breakfast was a lie.
The rooms are decent, but dont ask for extra washcloths,They act so rude , like why would you possibly need more?. They have an attitude when you ask for things like washcloths and toilet paper and towels. They need to learn some manors. Ive never been treated like that anywhere else that weve stayed. We travel a lot for my husbands work, and this place just isnt very friendly to their guests.
My stay at ESA Bensalem has been comfortable. Everything I needed was provided in the studio apartment type rooms they have to offer. The small, but full kitchen was awesome for my home away from home feel. Alexis at the front desk was very helpful. I plan to stay a little longer than planned lolol. Great place to stay.
Absolutely worst motel I have ever stayed in. Nothing worked in this motel, including the workers. The doors to outside didnt work. Any one off the street could come right in. The cleaning service was not even close to being covid clean. The toilets had BLACK flecks comin off it. The under sink was cover in coffee grains, the air conditioner was filled with dust. The laundry room NEVER was clean when I went to it. I myself had to wipe things down just to get my clothes from one thing to the other. You want some advice, find another hotel. Cause this one is not worth the money they ask for. The ABSOLUTE NASTIEST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED.
My stay here has been great, the staff has been very accommodating to any needs Ive had. All if what was to be expected for a long term stay hotel has been met beyond what I expected and all of the privacy and discretion expectations have been honored, to close this out if ever needed I would hesitate to come stay here again in a New York minute, thank you to all of the wonderful staff I hope i dont annoy you during the next week
The outside of the hotel looked really nice so we were really looking forward to our stay. The front desk staff was somewhat friendly. The room was a good size with a full size fridge and counter top stove. The three chairs in the room all had multiple stains on them. I ended up wiping down the leather seat before sitting since I lacked the cleaning products to properly wipe down the cloth ones. I always inspect the beds to check for bed bugs. Thankfully the bed had no signs of bed bugs however there was no sign that the sheets were clean since there was gray hairs on the bed sheets and multiple empty bottles of alcohol underneath the bed. We decided to cut our 5 day stay short and check into a different hotel.
I’m a very easy going person, normally I would not leave a review but the service at this extended stay is so bad that it needed some attention. The rooms are a little run down and the building smells dank. But the service is the number one issue. Front desk staff was absolutely awful. I got shushed by the staff while she was on a personal phone call during check in. Not personable staff at all, will never recommend this place to anyone I know.
Nice, reasonably new hotel. The room was spacious and well kept. The only issue I had was a dripping shower faucet but that wasnt a problem if you closed the bathroom door. Ive read others complaints about the granola bar and muffin breakfast but you didnt get any more or less than what the hotel promised in their description. I would stay again.
When I checked in, everything seemed fine, but when I came up to my room, the carpet wasnt clean, room smelled like cigarettes, fridge didnt work, and nothing was dusted. The WiFi is unbearably slow, and the A/C doesnt even cool down all the way.Theres no comforter supplied so bring your own. Management does not care about whatever you say and will go all Karen on you and kick you out. Also this was during COVID-19, staff did not wear masks and it looks like the room/elevator hasnt been cleaned in months.DO NOT STAY HERE.
Before I even write this review, it needs to be said that the staff was INCREDIBLY accommodating and unbelievably helpful. This is just about my experience:We stayed here for one night and our first room was locked with the deadbolt but no one inside so we couldnt get in. They were very nice and switched our room. Later that night, we saw a HUGE black bug by the kitchen. Not super happy about it but not a huge deal. Then in morning, I was awoken by itchiness and welts on my side. As a cherry on top of our visit, we found a large bedbug on one of the pillows. What seriously redeemed this stay was how wonderful the staff was compensating us something back for the inconvenience and being incredibly helpful. Unfortunately, I dont think Ill be staying at this location again but the staff here is absolutely incredible and it needs to be stated. Ive been to places where the staff will blame you or not take fault but these guys really went above and beyond.
My first experience was at the desk checking in. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Explained all of the amenities and extras available. My room was clean and fresh. During my stay I was made to feel like family. Tamantha, Alexis, alecia and stephania have all gone above and beyond when I need help with something or just their everyday smiles. They are why I continue my stay here. Housekeeping and maintenance have always responded to my needs immediately. They are also Covid safe which is important to me. I have stayed in my share of hotels and have never felt more comfortable than I do here.
Booked a non-smoking room, but there was a strong smell of smoke. Asked the staff if they can switch room for us, she told us we can leave. We didnt have an other option at the time and we stayed. They spray the room, but it didnt make a difference. The room smells very bad and it is not clean. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this place. For the price charge at this place I would expect something better.
First room, three cabinet doors fall off almost immediately. Ask fo another room. Try to give us a room on another floor. We had like 10 suitcase. I asked, anything on same floor, and got it. Next room toilet doesnt flush and runs. Desk people say, whyd you wait to report it. I said I did check it in the first room. Well the maintenance guy doesnt work the weekend. Like I planned it. No customer service skills. Next day I ask for a pot for my kitchen. Yup heres the last one. Wouldnt cook food for an animal in it, teflon peeling
I have nothing but amazing things to say about my stay at this location! From the moment you walk in, The front desk staff treat you like family. My stay was almost eleven days and anytime I needed anything someone was always there to help. Alexis and Eunique as well as the other front desk clerks(sorry I forgot your names) will always give you a reason to smile and I couldn’t of been more thankful for them! Thank you again Extended Stay and thank you to the amazing staff in Bensalem!
When I arrived the key mechanism didnt work. A staff member had to walk me to my room to let me in. Apparently someone on staff knocked something out of wack and left without telling anyone. According to one employee, she always does that. There was a terrible smell in the hallway that seeped into my room. I believe there may have been a leak somewhere. The table chair in the room is filthy and the refrigerator needs to be replaced (its dirty on the outside). The furniture needs to be upgraded as well.Love the recliner.I love Extended Stay but this one is the worst...
I can serious advise to customer who is looking for cheap and good location please do not trust anyone and don’t book this hotel a big regret after you enter the hotel.. Staff front desk are so nasty and unprofessional treat you like a You are some low class person.. I book hotel almost every day for me and my clients but this the worse experience I had.. Room are smoking even it’s an non smoking room. Sole detectors are not in place water damaged rooms bathroom like a ghost room.. I went to the receptionist told her please change the room she was extremely rude and said this is the only room I have you may go to other hotel.. it was a disaster and somehow no choice and had to stay there for this night but it was the dirtiest hotel ever seen in USA.. owner should change all staff and franchise should take there name and they should put name like 3 0 minutes rooms available for $10 lower grade then a Motel!
Checked in, staff was polite and courteous. Got into my room, dropped my bags and went to the bathroom. On the wall was the Largest roach I have Ever seen in my Life!!!The staff were understanding and changed my room after apologizing, however, my fear of bugs had me itching and paranoid for the rest of the night so I didnt sleep much or well. Then in morning we woke up and went down to grab from the grab breakfast bar and there was Nothing There! 9:00am and ppl had already taken Everything. I say, spend a little bit more money and go to another hotel thats near that area.
Loved their service. The hotel was well kept, cleaned. If you’re looking for a place to stay during Covid, this is the place! They have sanitizer stations everywhere, always reminding their guests to keep a mask on due to respect of others. Overall I love their customer service, never had a problem!
Terrible customer service. Unique is very unprofessional towards staff. Not only is she rude but very demanding as well. I witnessed her yelling at a guest and kicking her out of the hotel. Then, going outside to smoke a cigarette. Unique does not deserve a job with such a bad attitude. I also witnessed her call the cops on a guest because the guest complained about it being no heat in the room. Rude front desk clerks which makes it bad business overall.I gave it one star because you have to in order to submit a review.
This was not a good experience! The room was filthy, the whole establishment is dirty! And it would have been nice to have a heads up that this hotel houses mentally ill addicts that are homeless. Its nice that this establishment does this for the community but 4 extended professionals to stay here and be interrupted through the night with knocks on the door soliciting prostitution is not acceptable. I will never stay at another Extended Stay America. Not to mention your kitchens are not equipped due to glassware and sharp objects that are to be kept out of the reach of these mentally ill addicts. Very very very inconvenient all the way around ! But on a good note the staff was really super nice!
THERE WERE ROACHES IN THE BATHROOM AND RUG AT 3am!!! Hotel refused to give me a refund even though I provided photos/videos!! They didn’t even offer to change my room! All they offered was a voucher for a free one night stay on a different date. Ridiculous! .. My family and I were forced to drive home in the middle of the night, out of state!! Completely disgusted & dissatisfied with my experience and will never go here again! Horrible customer service and dirtiest, most outdated room I’ve ever been to. Aside from seeing bugs, there were 2 broken lightbulbs, and the refrigerator wasn’t working properly. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
The only thing good about this place is its dog friendly and you have a fridge with a freezer and a microwave. The bed is uncomfortable, no ice, no room service on the weekend, the shower leaks, half of the lights dont turn on, stains on the sheets, burn holes everywhere in a room thats suppose to be smoke free. Will not be staying there again or anywhere in Philadelphia.
The Assistant General Manager Dave Fry is extremely helpful. Anything you need he will get for you. Every person I have spoke to at the desk is pleasant and helpful as well. There is someone at the desk all the time. It is kept very clean. There is a washer/dryer on the premises. Kitchen supplies are given if requested. Pets are allowed although a pet fee is required per. Its quiet and the bed is comfortable. They are upgrading their cable service (soon I hope) to include HBO. The only improvement I would suggest would be cable service, its limited and it does not have a channel guide. Otherwise, I am satisfied so far with my stay at ESA.
Do not stay here unless you want to be around cops showing up all the time, loud people, bad management, terrible smells, and horrible cleanliness. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I stayed here once before about 7 years ago, where management was different and the stay was enjoyable. It seems to be under new management now, and the place has gone downhill.Police showed up twice during my month stay. Guests in other rooms were constantly screaming, drinking, and playing loud music..partying, if you will. The stench of the hallways was absolutely disgusting. Of course you dont know all of this right off the bat, so I am here to give everyone a heads up!Pictures posted below will show you how poor the hygiene is, and how low their standards are for their guests. This is a zero-star hotel, and a waste of money. Only positive was polite staff at the desk, with the exception of a few who were rude. Definitely will be taking my business to other hotels, and NOT the Extended Stay Hotel.
Overall the hotel is OK, but the cleaning service is very bad, and service in general is average-to-bad range. Hope I had a better experience because the facilities looked nice! They first assigned us a room where they only made the bed (clearly the bedsheets were used, not fresh), and the room had a unpleasant smell (like someone vomited and wasnt totally cleaned up).The second room we got instead was better, but still had the doubt about weather the bed sheets were changed! The corridors were not vacuumed either, you can clearly see that the cleaning service is not really making much effort.Staff was average, they dont bother much to make sure everything is ok (room card-keys were not working at first, maybe not activated properly... The front door entrance at the lobby was auto-locked during the night shift, but the lady on duty didnt even bother to come to check, she was only sitting there at the counter saying we are wrong and that we dont know how to open a door, when then after a long while someone else came out and tried to get in again then she realized it was auto-locked!). Well, things could have been better!
Where do I start. I ask could I check in early (1pm instead of 3) Was told no because they just started cleaning the rooms at 11 🤔🤔🤔 So go to check in at around 3:15 and the women behind the desk were busy talking and joking to the point where they kept messing up and check in (paid on-line so shouldnt have taken tht long) took 15+ mins. Finally get in room sit on the foot of the bed and the bed flips up and throws me on the floor!!! Called mgr to the room she says all the beds are like tht. Smh. Needless to say I will never stay there again!! Dont say I didnt warn you.
When entering the lobby front desk was nice and friendly. Check in was fast. Once I got to the room it had a foul odor to it, but we fixed it with sone frebreze. Called the front desk for dishes and pots and pans they only had one pot for us to use. We made it work. Now here comes the worst part, woke up to me itching all night turn the lights on and pull the covers back and it was bed bugs. It was so disgusting we just check out before morning. I wouldnt recommend this place to any one.
Were in the middle of moving and unfortunately our place is not ready yet so its nice to have a place like this for a short term stay. The ladies at the front desk are very polite and always helpful. Alexis and Unique have been great throughout our stay here. Anything Ive needed they have gone above and beyond. I personally love having the opportunity to use the gym anytime. I would def recommend this facility! I also wanted wanted to include Alichia and Janae, they have gone above and beyond as well. It takes alot to impress me and these ladies have made sure everything has been on point.
This hotel is the best customer service Alechia and Alexis is amazing they make u feel like family. This is the cleanest hotel I been too... the House keepers Ms keys and Ms Luz is wonderful they clean the hell outta your room!!! everyone there are amazing... I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family😁😁 If u need to get away this is the place to be.!!!
The entire staff is very unprofessional & unknowledgeable. My stay there was a necessary but very unpleasant one. They have a cockroach problem (there was ten [10] in my room (kitchenette) at one time. When I alerted the manager (Rasheed), he only comped me one day. The two (2) positive things are: they are pet friendly (no weight limit on dogs), & they serve (free) coffee every day in the morning. Forget about that particular location, I suggest not staying at the entire chain, because the apple doesnt fall far from the tree.
Decent location right across the street from Parx casino. The rooms are somewhat dingy, but are mostly clean. Needs an update badly. Its nice that the rooms had a small kitchenette although we only stayed one night. Also, we arrived late after midnight and the night staff were not very accommodating. Overall I would not recommend this hotel when there are literally a dozen in a five mile radius.
Not good it feels very nasty in there. It has a oder. The refrigerator was very dusty and the carpet is diry and horrible you need shoes on to walk. The towels are old and dingy. The front desk people are nice its not their fault but that place needs a full make over...
Carpets in the room were filthy with stains. The beds were very uncomfortable, unless you like a super firm mattress. The shower head and sink were filthy with grime. The walls are paper thin. You could hear the room next to us moaning and groaning while having sex until late at night and our headboards would move! We had to eventually call the front desk and complain. They also liked to smoke weed and you could smell that every time they lite up.
I been staying here for about 2 months I came from another hotel when I tell you the staff is like family they make sure that they accommodate your needs!! Rooms are clean hotel is so peaceful!! I ha e my kids with me and my kids love it here and I would recommend this hotel to anyone especially if they have a family with them I love the fact that we are able to cook full meals and not microwave like other hotel they provide u with ur own complete dish set the whole nine I give them 10 thumbs up
Do not, I repeat do not waste any money staying here. We are non smokers with allergies, all we could smell was cigarettes, the front desk offered to frebreeze the room and kept saying its a non smoking hotel. We ordered a queen size bed, this bed was a little bigger than a twin, not even as big as a full. Only 2 flimsy, threadbare towels in the bathroom. The drains in the tub and sink did not work well.
I got to the hotel on saturday night at 1145pm. There was no employee at the desk. So I waited thinking that they were in the bathroom or something. Turns out completely wrong there was NO EMPLOYEE IN THE BUILDING! I had to call cooperate after waiting an hour to get them to find someone to go to the hotel! An employee finally showed up at 215am!!! I wait for 2.5 hours! And heres the kicker they still charged me for the rool after they said it was free for the trouble!Horrible place do NOT recommend!
First is a very third class hotel and very old property built in 1900 because nothing works in the hotel and when you raise a complain to customer care the lady manager will call the cops telling them lie and will throught you out of the hotel and will blame you for every thing.. so please bewaren that the hotel manager lady decides that whom he want to make stay at hotel she thinks that she owns the property. So if you want to go go at your risk and even linen and qll things are dirty i have a proof because i dont want to lie.
Booked our room online and it was stated there was free breakfast. Every other hotel we stay at that has meant central, bagels, eggs, little yogurts and a waffle maker. Here it was muffins granola bars and packets of instant oatmeal. The hotel clerk tried to tell me they didn’t advertise free breakfast. Our room was also not clean. My daughter found things under the bed. Will not return.
Dont even consider this dump unless you are a pack a day smoker. This non-smoking Hotel property offers rooms that wreak from cigarettes. The front desks response is this is a non-smoking property Im sorry we can send someone up with some fabreeze to spray around. Order a queen size bed and get a full size bed. Dont you dare sit on the toilet before closing the door. Towels anyone? Have two. Made the mistake twice on this trip of giving money to this chain. Never again. Sleeping in my car where the environment is clean would be preferable
It sucked! There was a bug in my bed and I literally almost died.. I cant take it. I asked for another room which I was served but I was still devistated. There was no breakfast in the morning and the second floor had a disgusting smell.. Consider your hotels before you reserve..
The price is right if you are looking for a place to crash for the night.Definitely a no frills kinda place.-It was cool though - it has a kitchenette with a fridge and sink so you could do your own cooking.-It was located near other food joints if youre like me and your cooking is awful.-There is the continental breakfast in the am which is always helpful [everyone needs coffee to get jump started]-The employees were friendly and helpful and the room was clean-I wasnt too keen on two things though .. the access door in the back of the building was not secured - propped open because the card swipe didnt work .. so anyone could come in and out-The dang smoke detector was hanging all kinds of weird and not really connected in the room - Im thinking someone may have disabled it at one point and no one noticed when they came to clean-Other than that .. good place for a rest and move on
We will never stay at this hotel again. We documented as much as we could with pictures, and we have reported this particular hotel due to a mold infestation. On the lighter side of things, they would not supply us with more than one pillow...for two people. When we asked for more pillows, like the typical amount you pay for, they gave us one more and told us they couldnt spare anymore. When we notified management of our issues, they told us that we should have been notified of some of the issues and offered us $20 as compensation. This is a joke, right?
This hotel will not guarantee your reservation, regardless of whether youve paid for it earlier or not. Showed up after confirming three times that wed check in late, showed up at the exact time we said wed show up. And theyre fully sold out. The only lady around to help is one thats responsible for laundry and the manager was in bed, again refusing to help. Save yourself the trouble, go anywhere else.
Great location. Needs to update some lighting fixtures and carpet and textures but it is altogether a nice, cozy, convenient location to spend a romantic evening or even spend a month-long stay. Props to the Night Auditors and Guest Service Reps. They truly make the place what it is, a 5/5 for a 3 star! I look forward to staying in Bensalem with ESA again!
Just aweful. 1st room Reeked like an old ashtray . I complained and they moved us to a room that smelled almost as bad too. Another stink bomb. Bed was aweful. Worst sleep night ever. Pillow was a brick . There is no Ice at all here! Kitchen was from 1980. Table was dirty . Bathroom door did not lock . Never ever again would I stay here. Just aweful !!
Extended stay of America is the best hotel ever. It feels like home. The workers at the front desk are wonderful they treat us good and make sure we are good thank you to The best Greenspan manager Eunique, Alexis, Jenee, Alechia, Felicia, and all of the ones I didn’t mention thanks for all your help.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a quick overnight trip and I would not stay here again. The towels in our room looked extremely dingy and over used.. one of the wash cloths we refused to use as a risky of how it looked. When we went to our room after checking in super late we entered from the cold weather of PA to enter what we thought would be a warm room... but no! The room was just as cold as outside was.. it took about 30 mins for our room to warm up before my boyfriend and I felt comfortable enough to change into our pajamas.. The shower knobs need to be replaced as well.. it was no longer attached to the wall...
Not complaining, just explaining. I did book through an agent whom got me a crazy deal 40 bucks for the night, with taxes about 52 so you get what you pay from but the same room typically goes for 89 a night on average so if i paid that much i would of been very upset. I have stayed at similiar priced hotels and had an amazing 4 or 5 star experience this fell short of that. The front desk was nice, went to the room and the odor of smoke just hit you, had to open the windows as i dont smoke and it gave me a severe headache, place was spot cleaned, some of the linen should be replaced looked dingy and discolored, the pillows looked old and dingy but i will say out of all the hotels i have stayed at this placed had hot water that lasted. Ultimately wasnt the best but not the worst will probably avoid in the future and maybe stay at the comfort inn down the road for the same price.
Too much drama, amongst staff, you will not get any rest there.Gm enjoys playing sides with guest personal information, stayed there over a very serious personal situation,in my face pretended to be helpful, behind my back was running stories down to staff, that every word was being repeated back to me from the same people she told it to.Again beautiful place, but very unprofessional and plenty of drama for long stay guest.
I said I would be back again because Miss Alechia was a gem... So I stayed again and... I was NOT disappointed... Everything was clean and neat and Miss Alechia was just as wonderful as ever... I wish every hotel I stayed at had staff members like her... I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys clean hotel rooms and great staff!!
All right I am never going back to this hotel ever again. We had set a reservation for Friday April 17, and when my grandmother and I arrived not only was the room we booked given to another customer, one that did not reserve a room, they had no more rooms available. Which given the lack of vehicles on the premises I highly doubt.
Its your run down Extended stay....Dingy, odd odor, falling apart hotel. Awkward seeing people just lingering in the lobby looking for people to talk too...Also Grab and go Breakfast? I would like to see it if it exist. Dont bring your family here unless you want to explain why they are constantly smelling weed ever inch of the building. Once you get into the rooms things are just falling apart, carpets feel dirty and the beds....I would rather not even have one. THE WORST MATTRESS ON THIS PLANET.
Wonderful place to stay. Staff is friendly and the hotel is ABSOLUTELY CLEAN! (Fyi I have OCD AND I AM VERY PICKY ABOUT WHERE WE STAY)also must let you know if you are reading my post that I read in previous posts that this hotel was not the cleanest and that the staff was NOT friendly. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I am so glad I took a chance because I HONESTLY couldnt be happier.
The place is clean and it wasnt bad staying there for the short time we did before moving. One complaint would have to be the gentleman who cleaned in the morning, Richard. He was so miserable and nasty every morning. Must of woke up on the wrong side of the bed, he was cranky.
This place was ok but as I was gathering up my things getting ready to leave I found a piece of poop on the floor under the bed I slept on for 2 days. I dont know what type of creature it came out of but whatever it was had to be huge because it was a rather large turd. It looked pretty fresh, I cant believe it didnt stink. The worst part was that when I showed it to an employee they tried saying that it was mine. I was furious!! Needless to say, I wont be staying at extended stay ever again!! It was literally my shittiest stay in a hotel ever!!!
1 Room Dirty2 Lobby smells like marijuana3 customer service ghetto4 toilet bathtub 🛀 not cleaned5 Room Ac unit Dirty6 Bed sheets not clean 🧼 depressing7 gust and staff no mask 😷 you would think people have common sense during CovidI was so disgusted with this hotel room I went to CVS and bought hygienic kit wipes for myself unfortunately i couldn’t get my money back i didn’t read people reviews I was in town for funeral service I booked it through third party website booked it for a good price if you can ignore the dirty part your welcome to stay
Would give zero if I could, avoid this hotel at all costs. The rooms were filthy and after asking for them to be cleaned they werent. And to top it off we got lice from the unwashed bedding. When I called to let them know their beds have lice they seemed to have zero concern.
I stayed at this property couple of weeks ago in April for one night 3 days after I left my card was charged for damages I did not commit I spoke with Allen in the morning which was the property manager he stated he had evidence which I was denied to see but yet my card was charged over $200 horrible way to treat a perks member I will not be staying at Bensalem and because of this Im going to withdraw from being an Extended Stay perks memeber altogether I have seen nothing but incompetence from the staff from Bensalem a breakdown in front desk communication a breakdown in housekeeping communication Ive been in the industry for over 7 years so Im familiar with how it works there is no way I will stay at somebodys property and cause damage over $200 absolutely not! Worse customer service experience ever. The manager claimed that he had video of the damages which I was denied and told not to even come to the property which is not correct if you charge somebody property damage the consumer has every right to request to see the proof this property clearly dont know who did it.
It is very conviently located near any stores you might want to go to and there are many restaurants close by with one being within walking distance. The rooms have a full size refrigerator, stove top, and cabinets and dishes excetera are available from the front desk. the Manager, Ryan, along with his team will do everything possible to make your stay an enjoyable one. I have been a guest at extended Stay America every year for over 10 years and still enjoy each and every stay.
Would give this hotel a negative if I could. On our way there, I called to say we may be a little late. The man/boy answered the phone, said they overbooked the hotel, you dont have a room. I didnt understand and said I made reservations over a week ago He said, he was turning away people that booked months ago and it was too hard to explain and hung up on me. There was not another hotel in the area to go to. Horrible customer service, I will never book again.
I am resident from the city.and this is one if the best hotels I have visited each room has a kitchen so no need to order out on site housekeeping that keeps rooms clean an fresh expecially during this time the hotel has and awesome team as well very professional and friendly to their guess the manager unique is awesome and treats guess with respect and has seeing to it that I have been comfortable during my stay they also have to give thanks to team member alexus she’s has been awesome excellent customer service skills and to add that this is reasonable place The outside is beautiful and clean and safe I rate this hotel ten stars I have been to one other hotel in Philadelphia and it was nothing like extended stay America Bensalem you have a problem they meet your needs and I like that other hotels you get attitude but not extended stay Bensalem so if your in need of comfy clean stay rather it long term or short term I recommend this place ❤️
Simple inexpensive option amongst its three rivals within a half mile radius. If you need a clean place to crash and arsnt looking for bella or whistles and appreciate a small fee laundry room to regroup this place can be a great ally in the fight for reasonably priced safe, clean and reliable recharging for the body and mind. 3/5 stars from this humble lodger.
I Been staying at the extended Stay for about 2 weeks now . And I must say Tge Assistant General Manager Jenee Keys, Dave, and Khalil has made my stay such a pleasant stay. Those three I tell you has very very very great customer service. Jenee Always has a smile on her face she knows how to make you feel comfortable. Khalil always extend an helping hand always letting you know he is here if you ever needs him. Dave was the first person I met when I came and he never lost his pleasent personality. I want to thank you Guys for such great customer service I give y’all two thumbs up.
I came to this hotel for 2 nights as I was visiting some family and friends in town. I did a walk in reservation the lady who checked me in Niazia (im sorry if its not spelled right) was great. She helped me alot. Met the manager Alan and those two together are hilarious. Made me laugh the whole time. This hotel is great the room was very clean and very spacious. I will be back when I come into town.
This is beyond a doubt the worst place that you could pick to stay at. On top of the company that I work for paying almost $700:00 per week plus another $10:00 for each day that you want your room cleaned other than once a week. The rooms are almost never cleaned right, plus they usually dont leave any soap in the bathroom, only 1 wash cloth, pillow cases that look dirty and dingy. Mattresses are really old and raggedy around the edges, no ice machine, no trash cans in the hallways & the so called morning snacks or whatever they call it is totally disgusting and they have nearly no light on so that you take your pick of the 5 items they offer.THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL JOKE AND FULL OF EXCUSES AND LIES.I HAVE CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE 800 NUMBER. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY.I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO ACTUALLY GET THE CORRECT CONTACT INFORMATION TO CORPORATE AND SPOKE WITH A HIGHER UP IN THE COMPANY. HE ASKED ME IF I COULD TAKE 5 DIFFERENT VIDEOS AND SEND THEM TO THAT PERSON THEY WOULD DEFINITELY CHANGE THINGS.TODAY I GOT MY VIDEO AND IT ONLY TOOK 8 DAYS TO GET THEMDO YOURSELF A GREAT FAVOR DO NOT STAY HERE.
Make sure you check under the covers and under the mattresses for bugs. The rooms are overpriced and theres pretty much no amenities. Ive stayed here twice assuming the first time was a fluke. I will not return due to there being so many other places close by that are cleaner and better priced.
Made reservation yesterday for this Saturday the 14th. The person who I spoke to didnt speak English that well. Got confirm on phone, but called the next day, May 10th to double check. Spoke to Allen the mgr, he didnt see reservation, then saw that it was made for last night and I was a no show. Quite upset, I wanted a refund, he said no since it said on the confirm the date of the reservation, it was but so small I didnt see it. He stood his ground and had the audacity to ask me if I wanted a reservation for Saturday night. Will report this company and his actions to the Better Business Bureau. Hope they go out of business.
No one is hardly ever at the desk, stove takes3 hours to heat up, Iron doesnt work, you have to vacuum your room yourself, youve got to bring down dirty linen in order to get clean ones, you have to put on the sheets yourself.....itll take too long to continue... Ghetto as Hell.

2022-03-07My daughter and I were here to visit family after my husbands passing. The entire staff, including Tyler went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable and stress free as possible. I cant say enough about all the friendly staff who listened to my stories and comforted me in this most difficult time. The room was clean and functional but above all, the staff is amazing. We will definitely be back when we visit family again later this summer. Thank you guys💖💖

2022-01-09This was the worst experience ever. First of all the carpet was Filthy dirty. The room wasn’t clean at all. I left and went to the store bought cleaning supplies . The refrigerator look like it was tan but when I sprayed it it turned white. They have a room on each floor where you take your trash. I was there two days and the trash was so filled in the room that they had to leave the door open. Not only the rooms were filthy but the workers were a mess as well. Front desk staff seem to be a little tipsy. This is just a ghetto hotel they need to get new management. This is no lie I just couldn’t believe it never again

2022-01-22This place is awful. Waited a good 15 minutes for someone to even notice we were waiting to check in. When she finally saw us she seemed confused as to why we were standing there! Floors are so dirty in the halls and stair cases. It smells horrendous as a whole. The room was extremely outdated and smelly and dirty. The toilet didn’t flush, the curtains didn’t close. I can go on and on. What a disgrace. Do not stay here

2022-04-12After a very stressful and emotional day making settlement on a property Im selling we stayed here. I unfortunately overslept the next morning and the customer service employee had 8 police officers come to our room to escort us out after I told her I was moving as quickly as possible to leave. 8 cops knocking on our door to escort us out for oversleeping is a bit much for leaving 2 hours late. Ill never stay there again. Also a lot of rif raf and not very clean

2022-06-06Showed up at 235pm for a 3pm checkin. Bothered the front desk clerk, who was on her cellphone. She said they need extra time to clean, so we hung out for 25 minutes. Walked into a sticky floor, so I got a wash cloth and cleaned it. Opened the grease covered fridge to put some water bottles in and there was about an inch of water in the bottom 2 drawers. Looked at the dirtiest chair Ive ever seen, rust in the toilet and a disgusting drawer in the nightstand. Glad we had no kids there, safety bar on window was not attached. Hope youre not looking for a dark room, even curtains had holes in them.

2022-06-25Worst service, we had paid already for 2 double bed room. Reaching there with 2 kids, the staff said , you guys have booked through 3rd party. We are over booked , we dont have double rooms now. They asked us to pay another single room. Contacted Expedia, not much help.

2022-07-01Nice friendly staff. Good location to go to sesame street place. Loved the kitchen factor since We prefer to eat home cooked meals, even on the road.

2022-06-19The service here was very unprofessional, and ghetto. The guy at the front desk acted annoyed and impatient when we were checking in wasn’t trying to answer our questions. He wasn’t rude only to us but to other customers also. We’ll never come back here again !!!!
