As far as Im concerned. They are the best. Our boy Diesel, to say hes a handful is putting it lightly.. The doctor and staff there are amazing. They treat Diesel with so much care, which is not easy. ( hes not very friendly). I wouldnt think of taking him any where elseConsidering we come up from North Carolina should pretty much say it all.💯❤. I would give them 20 stars
I am giving it 1 star because I have to, to post this. I would give NO starts if I could. We brought our dog here because we thought he ate something and was chocking because of the sound he kept making. His breathing was weird, and he was not himself all day. He would not eat or drink or was not his playful self. Because his vet was closed, we brought him here out of convenience because they were open. BAD CHOICE!! After waiting for almost 4 hours, they did not give us a diagnose or could tell us what was wrong with our dog. They wanted to give him antibiotic “just in case” he had an infection and wanted to charge us over $400.00. They suggested giving my dog vaccines that he already had, and they didn’t listen to any of my concerns as to why I brought him here in the 1st place! We refused their treatment and still had to pay $65.00 for the visit. We took our Dog home and waited to the next day to schedule appt with his vet. WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN OUR DOG HOME WHEN WE EXPERIENCED THE MOST INHUMANE THING ANY PET LOVER WOULD NOT WANT TO SEE! We witnessed them putting a poor dog down on the side of the pavement. They laid the dog on the ground on a blanket and injected him with the medicine listened to his heart and injected him again with more medicine, listen to his heart and just like that the poor dog was gone. My family and I were in tears at what we had to see. I felt worst for the dog owner who could not spend a private moment with their furry family member. So sad she had to say good-bye and kiss him one last time al in a matter of less than 5 minutes. Then they took him inside. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THESE REVIEWS PRIOR TO BRINGING MY DOG HERE. THIS PLACE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY AND NOT YOUR PET!! THIS PLACE REALLY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED!Thankfully our dog is ok, our vet said he had a mild case of kennel cough and was given antibiotics!! And has follow up apt for Friday.
The only thing I liked about this place is the cost for an office visit. They did not tell me what was wrong with my dog but gave me a bill for $280. It had 6/7 different medicine and treatments on it. Thankfully I choose not to get all of them and opted for just a topical spay that was only $25. It cleared up the problem, whatever it was, in 4 days. With the office visit only $48 I wasn’t too mad. Although I still don’t know what my dogs problem was. Also I googled the spray I bought and found it for as low as $8 online. So they are definitely way up charging. Check if you can buy what they recommend elsewhere before you get it from them.
I wrote this 3 years ago and I still feel the same! Theyre the best.I love that they are always more than willing to help in office or over the phone. My dog needed emergency surgery on his tail. While we were in the office waiting, they kept checking on him to make sure he was okay until he could be seen. Always helpful, compassionate, patient and knowledgeable.
I had a very sick dog late on a Sunday. I was amazed to find this center open on a weekend. I was able to get there late and get important medical attention. I was amazed how they cleaned up and disinfected the exam room after every animal was seen. They really have a solid disinfectant protocol after every examination. These folks offer very affordable treatment for your pets. Honestly, Id give them 10 stars for what they did for us. They are very knowledgeable and have a very good selection of pet medications immediately available. The medications are dispensed with labeled instructions on them. I came here for an emergency, but after the incredible level of service, I plan on using them as my regular Vetenarian. They are very kind and understanding of your situation. They also followed up 2 times after the visit to check on the condition of my English Bulldog. These guys totally rock and I can only hope you have the same experience I did. If the location owners read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your help saved my pets life, he was so sick and in a lot of pain. Hes doing a lot better and continues to improve.
I am giving a one star because first of all the service is very expensive. There are places much cheaper such as PAWS Northeast Adoption Center. Secondly, it is NOT worth it, because I asked to check my cat’s eyes, ears and teeth, spayed or not (it was a stray cat, wanted to make sure that every was OK with her), so at the end they did not do that because they forgot and advised me to come over next time to check. Just for people who do not the office visit is 48$, so I do not think an average owner wants to pay this amount twice. The reason I brought it out because the next day after my visit I noticed the cat has a black build-up in her ears and eyes were watering. Once again I would think twice before going there.
Ive been going to this clinic for animals for about 12ys now. There great with pets and kind, and I love that they cut the pets nails as a request of course. My dogs hair is short naturally so I bath him at home and when I take him for his shots he gets his nail trimmed and I dont have to pay a groomer. If you live in frankford or oxford circle area try them out their great.
It is 48 to visit. Have to line up on the sidewalk. Staff takes your pet in. Evaluates. Upsells every service they can for an estimate. You pay at window for what you need. They will not write prescriptions. You have to buy their expensive meds from them. Parking is not good. Neighborhood is scetchy. It was 160.00 for shots for my dog.
The owner told me today that he was not here for me and that I was here for him because I had some complaints about the wait time (2hours, 45 min of it with my dog being in the office with no communication) and the lack of the communication, I had to persist to speak to the vet not the front desk attendant about my dogs condition and treatment plan. He also personally printed my dogs records and asked me to take my business elsewhere, he stated that my animals were no longer welcome. One of the other customers echoed my dissatisfaction and her dogs where handed back to her at the door with no treatment, and she was also told to take her business elsewhere. Ive been coming there for 20 years, his father was an amazing vet, with different pets and Im shocked by this incident, I certainly didnt deserve it for letting a business owner know my dissatisfaction with the services that I was paying for. Take your business elsewhere as he suggested.
This vet clinic & vet has always walked on water in my book. Only vet of my life w the magical, previously unheard of, ability to diagnose & treat your pet quickly. W the Efficiency & loving care one wld fir their own pet. Prices r lower than most others; only difference? Only vet that has successfully treated my pets. From claw clipping to major surgery all work is impeccable & worth its weight in gold. Most of us wld starve to pay for r pets needs; the worlds worst scenario- pay thousands & they botch the job. This has happened to me w every pet of my life @ other vets, breaking my heart & bank account.I sent a dear friend there recently. 100% positive of excellent results. Since covid the procedures r unworkable, ,& obviously Ill thought out.U bring pet- first come first serve per the norm. Park car, leave pet in car to sign in. Then u describe issue to receptionist.? Never speak w vet? I assured friend they r so accomplished & honest, go anyway. They still have best vet in my experience. She did so..spent a lot of money, only to b told nothing we can do. Go somewhere else. Treated w antibiotics; basically a bandaid for a life threatening problem in a relatively young animal. NEVER once did the owner speak w, or have any interaction w vet. Receptionist only & a huge bill.I can not imagine they cant handle the covid situation better. Currently its absurd & devastating to owners w 2 dimes to rub together. Blowing it all on NOTHING but aggravation. The parking is almost non existent. Their attempt at medical care via a quick description to a receptionist. ONLY. Then hear they have thrown their money, time, stress to pet sitting in car for nothing but a big, fat bill. After finding my first competent vet in 60 yrs. This is a sad tale to tell.My hope is that once this is all over, it will return to normal. The only vets to see there r Dr. Petlock (sp?) Or Dr. Guss..again, spelling prob off, but close enough. Bc did see one new vet there that was horrid..said no,no...bring in Dr. Petlock or Im leaving. I wld try again after covid w something minor & pray they return to former spectacular performance.
I absolutely loved the staff and the care my dog, Foxxy, received this week. I even received a call the next day asking how she was doing. They showed so much love to my Husky that she remained calm through the entire visit. The Vet answered every question we had, and her recommendations were spot on. Im so glad my neighbor recommended this place.
We have a 12yr old Pitbull who decided to eat a giant stick while she was outside on EASTER MORNING. it was really stuck, we couldnt get it out and she was in so much pain. Sure enough these guys were open, despite being Easter and despite being right in the beginning of the Pandemic. They could have really taken advantage of that and charged me an arm and a leg, but they didnt. I was able to actually afford to get my dog the help she needed. They took us as a walk-in and were so wonderful and so patient. They let me go home while they fixed her, called me when it was time to come back, and called several times in the following days to check on her. I will not go anywhere else, they are AMAZING
Great staff! Took great care of my cat nuggets who has never been to a vet before and was very nerves. They really got to know us and our cat before doing anything with him. They explained what vaccines he needed and why. Definitely will be going back here with all are pets needs. If I could give more then 5 stars I would.
I brought my dog here for the 1st time being new to the area. This was by far the worse vet I have ever been to. They did not care one bit. One of the girls had attitude and all they cared about was getting money. My dog had a rash and they didnt even talk to me about it or what I should do. They tried giving her vaccines that she already had and they didnt listen to one of my concerns. They should be shut down and the doctor should be ashamed of herself. Save yourself the neglect of your pet and the ridiculous charges.
They took me on a Walk In, I had no where else to go. I called every clinic I know with no help. They not only saw me immediately but my Dog loves them, ‼️ And they got her back to normal in no time. My dog is a little Hesitant of Vets, due to a bad experience when she was a pup, but with Frankfort she was Fine. The Most important thing I can say about them is, I & My Dog TRUST THEM🐾🐾💖 Thank you , Frannie & Kayla👏👏👏👍
Since covid, they have made some changes. They are open 5 days, Sunday thru Thursday. You can call ahead to let them know your on your way. Than call when you are there , they ask questions get your info, you wait outside while they take your pet. Frankford ANIMAL CLINICStill are polite and respectful. I just wish I was offered a chair to set on, instead of having to walk back to my car. Than again I didnt ask, either.
Amazing experience. My cat was sick and it was on a Sunday. We went to another place and they gave us such a bad attitude and was extremely rude. We quickly googled local area vets and found this one! From the look outside it does not look to be a vet. However you walk inside and I was instantly greeted with a caring and welcoming receptionist. They made me feel better about my cat being sick. The vet and the nurse were so understanding and kept me calm. They asked permission for everything they did, rather then doing it and me having to pay later. Absolutely will come here again!!!! Loved the experience and even my cat was happy and calm.
My dog presented sudden symptoms and needed to be seen as quickly as possible. I was able to walk in and be seen right away. The office is clean and neat, and the staff very personable and knowledgeable. My dog received excellent treatment and I will continue her care here, would definitely recommend to other pet parents!
We brought our 10 week old kitten here for a check up was very pleased with the service, the doc was super thorough, professional and polite. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were seen immediately as there were no other clients waiting at the time. We will definitely be bring our kitten and our pup back! Thanks Frankford Animal Clinic!
The people at this place were incredibly kind, positive and welcoming. They treated my dog with care and compassion while working with me every step of the way to ensure the best possible care for my girl. I definitely recommend going to this animal clinic; they are very cooperative, made my dpg comfortable and I felt safe leaving her in their care.
I was searching for a animal clinic for my cat who was having a hair loss issue and picked this one based the reviews. I called and to my surprise the clinic was open until 7pm. we arrived at 6pm the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the visit fee was very reasonable. My cat was examined by Dr. D who was excellent! She was gentle, caring, and knew exactly what the issue was. My cat obtained a steroid, some Advantage, and was sent home with her meds. We were out by 6:45....I was totally satisfied and would definitely use them again
So i made a review for VSEC about a week ago and mentioned my cat was blocked again after paying $2200 just literally 6 months ago. Took him here, there was no wait, took him right in, few mins later called me and told me the issue and price. $1000, now i didn’t like the price but it had to be done. They unblocked him, gave him up to date rabies shot and sent him home with medication and within a few days he was back to normal. I honestly believe they did the same thing that vsec did, they just didn’t keep him for 2-3 days until the 2200 was reached. I live literally across the street from them and i was nervous to take him because of mixed reviews, but i am glad that I did. They did a follow up call which i missed, but I’ll get back to that myself.
I took my chihuahua in for an injury she had. She needed surgery and they treated her so well. They told me everything that would happen and had the prices figured out ahead of time, so there were no surprises. I dropped her off in the morning and she was well enough to go home that evening. The staff was super friendly and caring. Cutest Vet I ever seen.
I would like to personally state that we received the best care possible during our visit. From the moment we called the receptiomist Carly she was so kind and helpful and when we arrived the vet Dr. Petlakh was amazing. She took her time to explain and ensure we understood everything. The entire experience was so personable and pleasant. We definitely recommend the clinic. Thanks again guys for your great work and dedication..
A few weeks ago i brought my kitten in for a checkup, i had two lovely Vet Techs which i believe their names were Eve and Alexis. They were extremely helpful and polite, great girls to assist me ! Also, the doctor, Dr. Petlakh was very informing and professional. Thanks so much for my wonderful experience , Ill be sure to be back the next time my kitten needs to be seen!
We took Rocky (our dog) there today and the new vet was AMAZING . She was great with our dog , which many vets are not since he is mixed with pit. The staff was wonderful as always and most importantly Rocky likes it there. I would definitely recommend this office to others
** 6/30/21 PAGING DOCTOR PETLAKH! PAGING DR PETLAKHId highly recommend this clinic to everyone in my family & all of my friends. I havent always had the greatest experiences in the past with other Veterinarian clinics. As they clearly treated myself & my pet like just another means to generate money for the practice. However, Dr. Petlakh & her staff were very warm and personable to me. Educating me and answering all questions in way that I, a laymen could understand. They genuinely seemed to care for my dog, Hayes.. a 60 lbs rambunctious pitbull rescue. They were entirely thorough in their exams and the procedures he desperately needed. As far as animal practices go... this will forever be the 1 I go to. Great staff.. great physicians.
We’ve brought all our animals here for years . One of my cats recently underwent surgery for a urinary blockage . He’s doing fine now with no subsequent issues . Dr. Victoria is a nice, competent vet and her staff are always welcoming whenever I swing by . If there is an issue which perhaps a second opinion is sought , a referral will be made . I encountered this with a two year old cat . These folks deserve your trust .
Friendly staff. Very kind and professional when I brought my dog here. I recently brought my two stray kittens to be declawed. I was not happy with the care they received. I never saw the doctor, when I brought for post surgery bandage removal. They quoted me one price, but was charged double. Then the post visit for bandage removal they took them back, I kept waiting for them to call me back. When I asked what was taking so long they said we are waiting for them to wake up from sedation. I was never called back to the exam room or told anything. Then I was charged an additional fee of over $200. I would not recommend them for care of cats.
I cant give Frankford Animal Clinic enough of a positive review. I had been meaning to write this review after my first visit, but finally put pen to paper after one of their techs called, two days after my second visit, to check on Skeeters condition. In both my visits, the staff have been incredibly cordial and welcoming. They were compassionate not just for my pug Skeeter, but for me (and my wallet!) as well. We all understand that running a veterinary office is a business, but truly feel that Frankford Animal Clinic puts the interests of my pet and I before their bottom line. The doctor was honest, understanding, and encouraging in communicating how to best care for Skeeter. Unlike other vets, I didnt leave feeling like I had been taken for all my money or that I was a terrible pet owner. It is a clinic so be prepared to wait if you visit during peak times since you cant just make an appointment, but this is hardly an issue if youre like me and prioritize honesty, quality, and affordability more than anything else.
Front desk reception nasty , rude and unprofessional.. no sympathy towards costumers/ patients who’ve been waiting for hours ... no one came and gave me any updates as to how long I would be waiting . Asked for an update and of course she got supper rude Defensive instead of just getting me an update. She even started arguing back and forth with me In front of clinic and other customers. The doctor is very nice and informative she’s knows her stuff seen a dog walk in sick could barely walk yet he walked out a brand new dog.
I was able to get both of my pups shots done with no appointments. I was able to drop my babies off and they gave me a call when my babies were all done I will be definitely going back to them . With COVID going on I feel safe leaving my babies there knowing no one was allowed inside.
Ive been to Frankford Animal Clinic several times with my Peanut. The nurses and the doctor are great, caring people. I find it a privilege to have such a great doctor for my little boy who is so great a person and that has a staff like she does. I left my old Veterinarian to come here, in my opinion you should also.
I can’t even put into words how amazing the staff is at this place. I moved almost an hour away from Philly and will still drive there for any of my pups needs, always! My pup was border line dying from Parvo, when I took her out of VSEC they told me she had no chance of survival and that I need to take her home immediately to let her die comfortably or put her down and get her out of her misery. I didn’t have it in me, I wanted to keep fighting for her and with her. I took her to my primary vet (Frankford Animal Clinic) and they were so loving, caring, passionate about what they do ESPECIALLY the doctor (Viktoria) I believe. She gave me everything I needed to care for her at home and on my own, she wrote down directions, her cell phone number in case of emergency and truly truly truly helped me save my babies life. Thank you guys again, she is so happy healthy and living her best life!Xoxoxo Hydra!
Had a great experience at the Frankford Animal Clinic. The vet and all the staff were very knowledge and professional and treated my dog as if he were their own. Also they explained everything to me in detail and the prices were very reasonable, actually far less than what I was used to paying. I for sure will be back!
I brought my 4 1/2 year old pitbull Kalypso in for skin irritation. She kept scratching nd biting herself til she was bleeding. The staff even during covid were so informative nd professional. I love this place. The meds they gave my baby are working great . I cant thank them enough for helping her!
I highly recommend the Frankford Animal Clinic to anyone with a pet! The staff is very knowledgeable and their prices are very reasonable. I have a 9 year old pooch who is starting to have some skin issues that need to be addressed and they took the time to explain to me exactly what is going on and the best course of action to tackle it.
I had three dogs that had to come here two of which have passed away when I say they made this easier on me than it could have been believe me they did . I never thought I would find a good vet after i moved from NY but this place changed my mind about that Thank you for your compassion and working with me. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.
I had my first visit this week to the clinic. I was in a pinch and the ability to walk in was a lifesaver. I had a special needs CH kitty. The front desk was SUPER friendly and Dr. Petlakh was efficient and very knowledgeable about the condition. The prices are totally affordable and the care is top notch. Would absolutely recommend this office.
Amazing clinic... Amazing Dr. and staff. Very clean, professional, and informative. They actually stayed 2 extra hours after closing hours to help my dog. Little did they know Im a Philadelphia eagle and this will be the spot i tell all my teammates to take their pets. .... A1
My cat died because of this vets negligence. My mother took him to this clinic given the positive reviews, but all they offered was symptomatic treatment – they did not even provide any speculations as to what was wrong with my cat, and just told my mom to take him home and monitor him after giving him anti-vomiting treatment. They took his bloodwork, but said the results wouldnt come back for another 3-4 days.Well, my cats condition didnt improve, and my mom ended up taking him to an emergency clinic. The vet at the emergency clinic could tell *immediately* that my cat had a urinary tract obstruction. They did bloodwork on-site, and attempted to operate on him, but it was too late – his heart stopped during surgery due to all the stress he was under.Had a competent vet detected this earlier, his death could have possibly been avoided. We did not know what a UTO was, therefore we could not consider it as a possibility, or identify it ourselves even though we tried to Google his symptoms. On top of that, we are not veterinarians – and we expected someone who claims to be an expert in this field to give us direction. Instead of sending us home to monitor our cat, they should have suggested going to the emergency clinic right away. But somehow, they could not identify what we found out to be a very common disorder.Upon doing some research, it is clear that a knowledgeable vet should be able to identify a UTO right away, based on the hallmark symptoms and feeling the cats bladder. The vet at Frankford Animal Clinic was not able to identify it, despite our cat showing what we now know to be textbook symptoms. Instead, we are left heartbroken from his loss and the guilt of knowing that he passed very painfully.I am usually understanding of mistakes – no one is perfect, and I genuinely believe people try to do their best. However, it is absolutely absurd and unacceptable that 1) no one at this clinic was able to catch that my cat had a UTO, given the display of textbook symptoms that the vet at the emergency clinic diagnosed him immediately from, and 2) no one decided that his symptoms were severe enough to warrant an emergency visit, or even suggested an emergency visit given they were unable to provide an immediate diagnosis.Shame on this clinic, and especially the veterinarian, who couldnt even own up to her mistakes when we called.
They over priced me for a ear infection and sothing theat can be 200hondres they charge me 700 hundred ok Andy and I have to bring my dog back to another doctors office because they didn’t Cure his infection am I thinking because they got walking they over pricing the people in the neighborhood 😩😩😩😡😡😡
I have been going to Frankford Animal Clinic for well over 20 years. The staff is impeccable! I cannot say enough about any of them. I trust them 100% with my children with fur, have for years and will continue to do so! Thank you for always being there for my family!
I would like to say thank you to the Frankford Animal Clinic doctors and staff. You guys are great! Everyone was so helpful and patient with our three dogs. We brought our youngest in when she became very sick and they took great care of her with the urgency that she deserved. She wasnt feeling very friendly and everyone there sympathized with her and understood. They gave her everything she needed to get better including teaching us how to care for her when we brought her home to finish nursing her back to health. The hours are so convenient. The office is open seven days a week. Now that is dedication! We have three dogs and will continue to take them to the Frankford Animal Clinic for their well care. These dogs are such an important and huge part of our life and I feel that the staff totally understands that. So once again thanks a whole bunch everyone. We will be your loyal patients. P.S. Bleu is back to 100%. See you soon for shots!Debbie P., Rudy P., Bleu, Puma, and Storm5 stars for you! *****
My dog Trigger ran through a glass door and had some serious lacerations on his arm down to the bone. I was frantically searching for somewhere to take him when I stumbled across Frankford Animal Clinic. I couldnt be more happy with my experience there. I didnt have to make an appointment, and as soon as i got there they saw me immediately. They treated him with so much love and attention you would have thought he was one of their own dogs. They explained everything that was to come and it calmed my nerves instantly. The level of expertise and professionalism was so comforting I knew he was in the right hands. I recommend bringing your pet here for any reason from just a simple check up to any serious ailment. They will be taken care of like family at Frankford Animal Clinic.
I love this vet. She is so thorough. I went to another vet on a Monday and had to go back on a Wednesday and still my dog wasnt right. I went to Frankford Animal Clinic on Sunday and she found out right away what was wrong with my dog. She also checked her heartbeat, temperature, eyes, ears and mouth. They called on Tuesday to see how my dog was doing. This is my vet now. Also, my dog is very nervous and they were perfect with her.
Well this was ourb first time coming here, and the service was wonderful. The took my dog in right away, and their price wasnt to high also they have healthy bags of food for dogs and cats, and the staff hear are wonderful. I really liked it. I recommend people coming here.
Allow me to start by saying I have spent over $3000 between two dogs here within the past few years. The owner is horrendous. Recently when ordering my dogs meds apparently the new person made a mistake and took 10 percent off for our usual discount. This was equal to a discount of 22 dollars. Mind you that I order these meds almost Monthly and the office makes over 60 dollars for placing a phone call to order the meds. The owner has the girl call me to collect the 22 dollars. I said have the owner call me which he never did. Now I try to order the meds again and they are saying there is a balance on the account. The owner calls me today and tells me if I want to show him how to run his business to go ahead and do so. If I don’t want to pay the 22 dollars he will take it out of the new girls pay. Save yourself the trouble and go to a clinic or vet that actually cares about the animals and the customers. This place just lost a long time customer over 22 dollars because of the way they handled this situation. I feel sorry for anyone who has to work for someone like this.
Convenient walk in hours. Professional and compassionate staff. Competitive prices.I highly recommend this animal clinic. They have been the thin red line between my dog, Hank and deaths cold embrace. He recently needed emergency surgery to remove a babys headband from his stomach. My old vet couldnt take him but the staff at Frankford Animal Clinic were thankfully able to get him the attention he needed. He also had a rare bacterial skin infection that looked something like zombie flesh. Another vet dismissed it as hot spots (which it most obviously wasnt) and sent us home with an antibacterial ointment that did nothing. The doctor here diligently pursued a diagnosis through blood work and tissue tests and was able to treat him successfully.
My experience was excellent, everyone was very helpful they provided all the right treatments, explained everything well and what needed to be done for my dog to fight and survive the parvo virus. Thanks to their service and help my dog has survived and is back to normal... Great place and recommended.
If I could give 10 stars I would!I have been meaning to write this review since the first day I took my dog here last week. I accidently stumbled upon the best veterinarian I have ever taken my dog to. I noticed he wasn’t feeling well; he wasn’t eating or drinking so I knew something was wrong. It was a Sunday so my normal vet office was closed. I did some research and decided to take him here and it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. Long story short, my dog had gotten into a bunch of trash and had so much junk in his stomach and intestines. After 2.5 hours of surgery, Dr. Petlakh was able to remove everything. My dog is 10 years old so we were all really worried he wouldn’t survive the surgery. Dr. Petlakh cared for my dog as if he were her own from the first time we walked in. She even offered to stay beyond their closing time to do the surgery. The entire staff here is awesome and I won’t be taking Rudy anywhere else! We are so grateful for Dr. Petlakh and everyone at Frankford Animal Clinic. It’s now a week since Rudy’s surgery and he is doing amazingly well. Please don’t judge this book by its cover! It’s a small place but filled with amazing staff who are great at what they do.
My beautiful little six year old pug named Annie was treated at this animal clinic. She was diagnosed with pyometra and needed emergency surgery. I was told she had a strong heart and lungs as well as being the perfect weight for a pug and the surgery would be done quickly that day. I kissed her told her I loved her and in she went for surgery receiving the call later that evening surgery went well and she was just coming out anesthesia. Overjoyed, my daughter and my brother took the trip down to the clinic; Annie was carried out to us and placed in my brothers arms. We were given instructions and were told she was still in a drunk state, but that she would be back to her old self in 6 hours. On the car ride home she did not act like herself but we took the advice of the trained professionals and laid her in her blankets making her as comfortable as possible. I slept next to her all night checking on her, but she was still in this drunk state. When I awoke in the morning to find her I was stunned to find she had passed either in her sleep. I, my daughter, and my brother were beyond devastated to have had to say goodbye way too early to our beautiful dog, Annie. We went back to the vet to ask questions with Annies body in tow and we were at that moment informed of complications that can happen and all the what could of happened and then we were provided with a discount to have Annie cremated. This hospital not only took our Annie from us, but took over $1800 to perform what we were told would be a routine procedure. Nothing can bring her back to us and just please take my advice by doing your homework before you jump the gun listening to the professionals; you know your pet. To the memory of my beautiful girl Annie, my treasure, rest in peace. 😢
The new veterinarian is awesome. My cat ceasar had an UTI,and wasnt urinating for days. I thought I would have to pay $400 for a procedure, but the veterinarian ended up doing a procedure that cost me way cheaper. I was very appreciative for her support and dedication on trying to help my ceaser. Thanks to her my cat has been great ever since and I will be returning.
The wonderful girls at FAC saved my kittens life without hesitation. After an emergency visit to CARES, and a $3,000 estimate for an enucleation, I ventured into our neighborhood veterinarian that had called a week prior. They did not hesitate to look at our sweet boy, and gave an estimate for an enucleation and a neuter... literally a third of what would have been charged at an emergency clinic. Everyone was INCREDIBLE. From the front desk, to the vet tech, to the actual vet... I have ZERO suggestions for improvement except to give them all a raise! Our kitty has been in phenomenal spirits since the surgery and we truly will recommend them to everyone that we know. we will also be bringing our other fur babies in from now on!
Thank you for taking care of Salem! The staff is very professional and friendly. Salem doesnt usually take to strangers, but he was very comfortable and even stayed calm during his vaccinations. It was his first of many visits here. Your empathy and attention to detail are examples of what all veterinary care should be. Keep up the fabulous work! Rita
I brought my dog Zeus there who was in very bad shape. He got a bone stuck in his intestines. They took the people who were there than shut down the shop and perform emergency surgery and stayed pass the their closing time doing the surgery. Gave me a very reasonably price and saved my dogs life. My dog is like my kid to me so I couldnt thank them enough for what they did for me. Been going there a very long time and will continue to go there. They are the best.
We just got home with our rabbit. They dont usually treat exotic pets, but there was nothing open in our area. As soon as we arrived they immediately took us and treated our thumper. The office was very clean, the personnel were professional and attentive. We are very grateful thwy cared enough to treat him. He is already back to himself. We will be taking our fur babies here for all there needs. Ty frankFran animal clinic for all the help.
I have been coming here for over 12 years and will continue. Dr Guls son runs his practice, just as his dad did. Compassion, friendly and caring. Takes the time needed with you and your baby. Love they have night hours too and great prices. Dr Petlakh is so sweet and knows her stuff, will continue to come here.
Dr d is the best. She helped me to keep my furbaby alive for an additional 2 months. My baby had tongue cancer which was terminal. I got to spend 2 whole months with him before he passed thanks to dr d. She is a compassionate, caring doctor. I would recommend her to anyone. I cant forget the girls. They were there tovgive me kind word and hugs which i desperately needed. Its a wonderful environment...thank you Dr D and her girls...
We have been a regular client for almost last thirty some years, since Dr. Gul, then Dr. DIngianni and now Dr. Petlakh. Although each vet had or now have different personal touches, the clinics perspective has remained the same, cost effective, sincere , compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care and understanding the concerns of their human companions.
Frankford Animal Clinic is definitely as good as it gets! Dr. Petlakh is by far, the most caring, compassionate, honest, down-to-earth and intelligent veterinarian that I have ever met! The clinic offers convienent, extended walk-in hours, which are conducive to my hectic work schedule; a very friendly front desk team, and the sweetest cat named Precious, whom purrred and greeted me immediately upon my arrival. They were professional, delivered top notch service, gave logical and easy to understand explanations for everything my cat, Swiss, needed during his check-up, and were so much more affordable than every other office Ive ever visited! Today was our first visit and we will definitely continue using Frankford Animal Clinic and Dr. Viktoria Petlakh from now on!
The vet here looked at my dog after she was hit by a car 5 years ago. I didnt have much money and didnt have everything upfrount at the time, but he STILL helped her with a good kind heart that i appriciated with everything. I appricited the good person he was because back at the time i didnt have much money, i currently work with vets almost on a daily bases at a large horse farm, but never came across a vet that still help without upfrount cost. I still come here to philadelphia for her visits because of his knowlege and huge heart. My best friend is still here to this day because of him.. And i thank them with everything for helping my dog nala after her traggic incident.
Five stars not only did they help me but they also did not charge me and told me exactly what to do over the phone instead of Making me spend money and telling me to bring him in they told me how to make my puppy better over the phone They weren’t concerned about money made me feel they actually cared!! A plus vet!!

Dr. Petlakh is AMAZING.. my dog was diagnosed with parvo and after having her at the animal hospital for 5 days and no real changes I was at a loss of what to do that’s how I ended up at F.V.C dr petlakh was so down to earth and explained everything so precise that I understood how to give each and every medication including IV bag not to mention she gave me her personal cell phone number to text if I had any questions and of course I did she got back to me RIGHT away never in my years have I came across a vet that is so dedicated to the animals like she is I HIGHLY RECOMMEND seeing her when taking your animals here!!!
Been taking my dog there since my other vet passed its a nice place they help my dog keep up on meds n shots i do tell all my friends that need vets to go there i highly recommended this place for pet owners my only problem is its kind of far n always need to find a ride they should add pick ups which would help with people who dont drive
First time there sunday june 3 2017--after a rude experience at another vet that morning we called frankford animal clinic to see if we could be seen--we went there and was greeted by one of the nicest front desk person that i ever met---later to find out his name is octar and he is actually part owner--i cannot say enough good things about him--he was very caring about our situatin with our cat and answered every question we had extremely professional--the nurse and vet were so good--spoke to us like human beings and explained every step of the process of them checking out our cat---i have has animals all of my life and haven ever experienced such a positive experience as this--i am strongly considering making frankford animal clinic my full time vet for all 9 of my cats---i highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a clinic that actually cares about your family pet and treats you right that you check out frankford animal clinic

2022-02-02Staff is very friendly and they treat your animals good and they explain everything about your pet health. Only three stars because they take absolutely forever. Every time I go to get meds refilled I’m waiting easily 40 minutes. Also not a good place if you’re on a budget most animal services are over $200

2022-06-07Had to bring my cat for an emergency visit, she had a blood clot, had to put her down, hardest thing and first time I experienced this, the staff and doctor were wonderful, they took their time with me and my Mazzie, even with other patients waiting they did not rush us, they focused on us as they do with all their patients. I would highly recommend them. They were so sympathetic and caring, I cant say enough. The other day I got a sympathy card in the mail signed by all the employees, touched my heart. Just remember they are still following Covid guidelines and only one patient in the waiting room at a time and it is a walk in clinic so you may have a longer wait, but it truly is worth it.

2022-03-28I was completely unsatisfied with the service, in 33 degree weather the doctor came to the door and we stood outside in the cold to discuss my dogs X-ray results. $500 and 5 hours later I walked away with 2 brochures. My dog wasnt treated and for the money I paid I wasnt even allowed to wait in the lobby. The staff was very dismissive and no help at all, I WOULD NEVER BRING MY DOG BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!

2022-02-25Brought my baby Katie in because she struggled with constipation. They didn’t want to do an X-ray because she was scared and upset. They gave her an enigma and didn’t care to clean her backside. I almost lost her but I got her to another vet and they cared for her well. This vet didn’t care if my cat lived or died. I would never recommend this place!!!!!

2021-08-13If I could give this clinic 10 stars I would. From the first call I was extremely happy therafter the staff and the Doctor was exceptional. My miniature Pomeranian was very sick they took time patience and care to my honey. With medication and recommendations he was back to him self. The next day they called and followed up with us. I would highly recommend this clinic for any furry family member.
