Griffin and Dylan from Gen 3 electric did a fantastic job on our lighting and electrical work. They are very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. They were able to achieve a huge amount of work in 2 days, and kept our living space very clean while doing so. I would highly recommend Gen3 for anyone who needs electrical work, and Griffin and Dylan were fantastic!
Recently had Gen3 come out to our house for a pair of visits to do a variety of different electrical work, including water line grounding, GFIC outlets, running a separate line, and changing some of our breakers out. Evan was great, timely, courteous, explained everything very well, and did a great job quickly that we needed done. The only issue I had was after the first visit, they needed to come back for a second time, and despite being told Id be contacted to schedule said visit, I never was, and I had to reach out multiple times to the company to get that scheduled; was at times very frustrating because we were hoping to have the work done prior to our move, but because of the delays and some lack of communication, it occurred after.Id still recommend Gen3 and plan on contacting them if I need work in the future, I just hope theyll be more proactive in their communication and scheduling for follow up visits in the future.
Evan came out today to fix some lights and outlet issues we were having. He did a great job and made recommendations for further improvements (replacing our panel, installing LED lights) but didn’t pressure me at all to make a commitment today. He even vacuumed where he had been working before he left! Definitely would use Gen3 again.
My technician was Mike M. and I could not have been more happy with the work! He came out to look at an outlet that kept tripping and gave me multiple options to consider when making enhancements to my home. He also wrote up quotes for a couple other projects I was thinking about and hoping to get started over the next couple of months. There was no pressure and he even tested all of my other outlets in my home! As a first time home buyer, I appreciate any advice and he was so resourceful and answered all of my questions. I also highly recommend getting the membership! It’s a great offer and gives me piece of mind. So happy to have Gen3 in my corner! Thank you, Mike!
Dave from Gen3 was excellent. I needed an outlet installed for a new dishwasher and a live wire rendered safe. He did both in no time and was fun to talk to. I have used Gen3 many times and found their electricians to be helpful and competent. Gen3 is my go-to electric firm.
The electrician that came to my home was very professional, completed the job quickly and cleaned up after the job. He was able to troubleshoot a problem that arose during the installation. I am very happy with the service.My only complaint is that there was some lack of communication between dispatch and the technicians/electricians. When I had scheduled my service appointment, I had requested afternoon and was told that was no problem. However, on the day of the job the electrician called in the morning (when I was unavailable) to say he was on the way to do the job, and apparently hadn’t been told about my request for an afternoon appointment. He was able to come back later in the day when I was available.
Aaron was an absolute professional and very helpful. Communicative and clear every step of the way and really helped me figure out how to proceed when some unexpected problems showed up in my walls.Overall the work was clean, efficient, and well done.I will happily work with him again.
The team and Gen3 was fantastic. Our initial tech came out and diagnosed the issue quickly. Two others came out the next day to fix it.It’s the middle of July and I had no ac for a few days. The support staff was helpful in getting the appointment set up ASAP. Well done all around!
This is the second time I have used Gen3. They have upgraded my electrical service and repaired/maintained my HVAC. Each time, I got an appointment quickly, the tech was friendly, on time, efficient, knowledgable, took their time to explain what was going on and how it would be fixed. Pricing is competitive and reasonable compared to others in the market.They are an all around great company and I generally rely on them for their consistent service and solid work.
Jordan was great. He came out expecting to just give a quote for a ceiling fan install. He ended up installing the fan and doing some additional work on our electrical panel, all in the same day. He explained everything and gave us quotes for each item separately, before starting. Thanks again Jordan!
Gordons excellent service put us at ease. He took care to evaluate the work we requested and offered suggestions. (Which we accepted--since they were more efficient and better looking!) We put off this work for such a long time for fear of the expense, but it was actually quite reasonable. Thanks, Gordon!
Jeffrey W. was the technician that serviced my HVAC unit. Not only was he knowledgeable and on time, he was friendly and very personable throughout the entire visit. Came out ahead of schedule and did an amazing job troubleshooting and resolving our issues. In addition to fixing a bad outlet and switch, Kevin from GEN3 wired and installed a front door camera, somehow without having to drill a hole in the wall.Seriously, if you have any electrical work needs, GEN3 is the best.
Weve had a great experience with Gen3s services so far, which included replacing an HVAC system and water heater. Their centralized, responsive communication was a major stress reducer and was greatly appreciated.I always find it worthwhile to highlight how a company handles a mistake, and how they address fixing it. An erroneous measurement was made (happens) resulting in too big a water heater that would have required knocking off some door frame casing/trim... Our request to see if another model was available was taken seriously, went up the chain, coordinated, and solved in a matter of hours (small shout out to Andre O. and Cliff E. for this). Friendly team on all ends - Chris R. and John K. installed our air conditioner, Eric Z. and Steve M. did work on furnace.
When I asked for a reference I spoke with Brittany and she suggested her employer. We used GEN3 for our home, so when it was time to get my salon to get updated HVAC I reached out to brittany again. She’s been very upfront and honest and I feel confident in her and the GEN3 company as a whole. Thank you for always taking care of us!
We needed to upgrade our electrical outlets, wiring, and panel in our very old home. Ed was PHENOMENAL, as was his team of Mike G. and Justin. Ed checked in regularly, treated our home with thought and care, and the team was punctual each day. He reassured us throughout the process that they could make the updates in our extremely old home. His team cleaned up our house at the end of each day and did a great job of removing construction debris and thoroughly cleaning at the end of the job. When finished with the job, Ed FaceTimed us so that we could do a virtual walkthrough as we were staying elsewhere. We would do work with the Gen 3 team again.On a side note, I wish that the initial receptionist who we scheduled with would have told us that we should not have the work done while we stay in the home ourselves. We have a newborn (which was information we shared with her) and she didn’t name that the construction debris and noise would not be suitable to the baby’s health. If you get this sort of work done, plan to stay elsewhere.
My condenser unit went out in the middle of a heat wave. They got a tech out to me within 5 days, which was faster than any other HVAC company near here. The morning of the visit, they gave a confirmation call and arrival time. Matt came on time, and fixed the problem quickly. Overall very professional and easy to work with
The worst customer service. We hired Gen3 to uninstall and reinstall our HVAC units to allow for a deck install.They had at least 3 crews come out all of which complained about the prior crews work. One crew even stated “this was a hatchet job”. We had no choice but to fire this company and hire another vendor to complete the work to get functional units and cool air back house.They left the units in a non operational state by first damaging the coil by braising the lines and then subsequently hacked the unit apart during a heat wave. They then came back with another quote to repair the damage they caused. Clearly this job was above their competency and expertise.They do not stand behind their 100% guarantee. Do not hire this shady company.
I have gotten both electric and heating work done by this company. Both I was very pleased with and the jobs that where done were excellent. I had to wait a little over a week to get scheduled for someone to come out which was fine for me because I rather get work done in my house by a company I trust. I was happily pleased with the end result done by the technician Justin. He did a excellent job with replacing my gas valve and got my home heater back up a running.
EDIT: Gen3 responded saying that the work mentioned below was finished in 2019 and that the 3-year warranty is now expired. This is a lie. The work was completed Feb 2020, and they told me repeatedly that my 2-year warranty is expired (not the 3 year warranty that they claim to offer). It is frustrating that in this public forum that are willing to be deceitful about the warranty they offer.--------------------------------Poor customer service and work. Avoid at all costs. They make the scheduling and job seem easy, but there are tons of headaches along the way, which will continue into the future because of poor work. Some examples:Minisplit install: estimator insisted we could put condenser in narrow back alley, company balked for weeks about getting it on roof. One unit leaked because technicians did not properly install gravity drainage; company would not cover repair under warrant and instead suggested a $412 condensate pump. When I cut small hole in wall to inspect drain line, I found that the technicians had stuffed all their trash from the job inside the wall. Company did not file peco rebate on time, as they said they would; took over a year to resolve issue with company. Company took months to get permit for minisplits.Electrical work: electrician said he rewired a light to get it off knob and tube wiring; later discovered that he just slightly moved the fixture and it was still tied in to old wiring. On rough in work, a different electrician did not install boxes out from studs to accommodate drywall install.
Gen 3 did an amazing job upgrading our old knob and tube wired / push button light home with 110 service. We now have 220 service, new push button switches with dimmers, beautiful chandeliers, recessed lighting to brighten every room and hallway, and so much more. Brian and Connor worked tirelessly placing miles of wiring from basement to third floor - no easy task with plaster walls! They installed each light fixture with love, including our amazing chandelier - 1 crystal tear drop at a time,We also had Brian S come out recently to place outdoor lighting and a Haiku ceiling fan, which we love!I have attached before and after photos of the love they poured into our home. They were professional, always wore protective foot covers, cleaned up after they were done, and smiled, despite some pretty down and dirty work in the basement.We truly could not be happier with any of the work that was done! We LOVE GEN 3!!
Jordan K came by today to install some lights and swap out some switches. He was prompt, professional, and COVID-conscious. He wore booties to protect the floor, wore his mask the whole time he was inside, and was great about explaining what he was doing and asking for input when there were options about how to install the lights. Gen3 has always been a great company to work with, highly recommend them. They have always provided a quote up front and never deviated from that price, even if it involves a little extra work.
I requested a quote from Gen3 to replace the heating and cooling system in my nearly 100 year old house. They sent someone out within a couple days, and Scott did a very thorough evaluation of my home and needs, and presented quotes right then and there which was great for me because I hate waiting. The scheduling process was quick and painless, and everyone I’ve interacted with has been so professional and friendly. I already couldn’t be happier with my decision. I’ve had a lot of repairs done over the years (old house problems) but these guys are among the best.
This review for expert handling of a/c repair is overdue !Gen-3 installed a new HVAC unit in our home in January and due to extreme cold outdoor temps was unable to test the a/c at that time. We had no problems at all with the heat but we needed to schedule a follow up in the spring because the a/c did not work properly.Several techs needed to be dispatched to troubleshoot the issue but it was eventually resolved by the skilled professionals at Gen-3. Dave, Brian and Del all spent time in our place over 2 days working hard to identify the problem, which Del eventually did identify and fix on day 2. We thank them for their diligence as well as for being friendly, respectful and tidy while in our home.Gen-3 also delivered, installed and later came back to pick up a portable a/c unit for us to use in the interim since hot temps were already on the way.The follow up appointments, including the one to pick up the portable unit, were made with respect to timing and our schedules by the competent and professional office team. Thank you Arianna , Andrea and especially to Cindy since Cindy was the one who worked with us the most !you guys are all great !
We only use the Gen3 team for our electrical needs at our house. The guys are always gentlemen and professional. Dave was great! He was on time and professional. He did a great job wiring and installing our additional sconces, and relocated an outlet to make room for the larger mirrors. He patched the sheet rock and cleaned up thoroughly.
Ms Brittany was so awesome and understanding and she answered all my questions and got to the root of my problem and issue and help me she has such great patience with me and they need more people like her to answer phones I will recommend this company in the future to friends and family thanks to her
Everyone that Ive ever worked with from Gen3 were world class. Ive called over 20 electricians to get a sense of how they communicate with their clients and the overall quality they possess. Gen3 is on the higher tier of pricing however, its GUARANTEED to be complete on time, done well, and they deliver what they promise. Great experience and have already referred them to countless people.
Gen3 exceeded my expectations. I hired them for a complete knob and tube remediation. I’m very pleased with the outcome. I was so impressed I signed up for the HVAC yearly checkup.Bill and Dylan went above and beyond each and every day. They were attentive, professional, enthusiastic, honest and friendly. I was really impressed with their attention to detail.Bill is a lighting genius. He had helpful suggestions along the way for Lutron caseta lighting arrangements. Now my home is smart and efficient.I highly recommend them and Gen3.
Dave C. came to the home my Wife & I are renting. Dave inspected & We were informed that the whole boiler needs to be replaced & nothing is up to Code. Dave reached out to the proper ppl to get the job done!!! My Wife & I are extremely satisfied with Daves expertise & Dave wasnt here just for his pay. Dave was concerned about Our safety!! We really thought Dave was a Supervisor 🤣😂
Did an excellent job of preventive maintenance on our natural gas furnace. Went above and beyond to make sure carbon monoxide was not an issue. I have had many different companies perform preventive maintenance in the past and I have never had anyone measure for Carbon Monoxide. As a home inspector I am very aware of the importance of this test.
The team from Gen3 has been fantastic all around. We had quite a few jobs to do and every person that came into our house was professional, knowledgeable, answered our questions, and exceeded expectations for the job. Would highly recommend Gen3 to anyone looking for electrical work!
I recently used Gen 3, and had multiple interactions with them and in all occasions they were very professional and provided fair and clear pricing. Earlier today, Aaron and Cyrus came out to install additional recessed lights, including installation of new cans etc,. After the walkthrough, Aaron identified some potential issues to my original plan and very thoughtfully walked me through some potential options that would work better with the existing switching and wiring. He was very patient as I tried to solidify the plan with my spouse who was working and wasnt able to respond that quickly. With Aarons advice, I ended up saving several hundred dollars and landed on a lighting configuration that I am very pleased with. Also, Cyrus was very professional and communicated well throughout and both of them were very keen to keep the work area clean by laying down tarps/coverings to protect the floor. Vacuuming up after as well was a nice touch! I will definitely be using Gen 3 for other electrical work and perhaps for HVAC!
I bought an old house that needed major rewiring and upgrading, and after a few estimates went with Gen3. I really appreciated the detailed breakdown and options they give you, and tbh I went with the cheapest one they presented and never got any kind of sales-y pressure to do more. Also, they 100% stand by their quote even if they miss something that makes the job more complicated (which happened in my case!)As far as the actual job went, Mike and his team were great. I didnt really know what to expect so I kind of just thought theyd show up every day and do work and leave. It was much more thorough and communicative than I anticipated, which was GREAT. Mike thought of a lot of questions/options along the way (not upselling, just asking preferences about outlets and light fixtures etc) and also pretty much every day gave me a quick rundown of what was done, the game plan for the following day, etc. This helps especially in the case of a major rewire because it inevitably makes a room pretty dusty and its nice to know if a room is off for a night, and when I desperately needed the stove one evening Mike was kind enough to ask before he left for the day if I was going to use it and stayed a little later to have it up and running again even though they were in the middle of doing the whole kitchen.Great communication, honest, thorough, thoughtful, and really just went the extra mile(s). I hope to never have to have a major job done again lol, but am definitely happy with this company for future and hopefully smaller repairs/maintenance.
Aaron and Cyrus from Gen3 Electric just did a great job installing an electrical outlet in my basement for a sump pump. In addition, I asked Aaron about remove/replace of ceiling fans, an issue I was having with a flickering light in a bedroom, and a ground wire that did not appear to be properly installed. He was very informative and provided cost estimates for the work should I decide to schedule a future appointment with Gen3. After the high level of service I received today, it is very likely I will. As a longtime Philly resident, I am no stranger to less-than-wonderful home service from companies and independent contractors alike. Gen3 was not like that. The service from Aaron and Cyrus today was great. Based on my experience, I would recommend Gen3 to anyone.
Gen 3 Electric & Hvac is a fanatstic company. We called them when our other electritian missed two appointments for our Carrier AC and heating Unit that was popping the breaker as soon as it turned on. They responded right away and sent someone out the next day. Thanks to them and their technician Jeffery who came out we were able to prevent a fire from happening. Highly recommended.
I first called Gen3 on an emergency basis when my smoke alarms failed at once, and within an hour or two I had two techs at my home working to replace the system. I was very impressed with their service. They were professional and quick to respond. After that positive experience, I called Gen3 again to install new lighting fixtures--a pair of pendant lights in my kitchen and a chandelier in my bedroom. Evan P. did an awesome job. He was professional, friendly, and got everything working and looking fabulous in about two hours. Also, due an uptick in emergency calls, Gen3 had to reschedule my original appointment for two days later. And as a courtesy, they gave me a $50 credit, which was a very nice gesture. I will definitely call Gen3 again in the future.As an update, I have now used Gen3 three times. Today, I had Chris and Evan P. install a light fixture in a guest bedroom. This is my second time having Evan as my tech, and he is awesome! Very professional and friendly, and also efficient. Today, Evan and Chris went above and beyond when they identified a problem with my panel that I would not have recognized on my own. Despite that it was not part of my scheduled service, they took the time to fix the issue. I highly recommend Gen3.
I contacted Gen3 to conduct an evaluation for knob & tube wiring and the safety of the electrical system in my house. The technician arrived on time and was very thorough and professional throughout the evaluation. He was also very knowledgeable and was able to explain in detail the issues uncovered during the inspection as well as pricing to correct the issues found.I also used Genes services to rewire my whole house and install new light fixtures. My technician, Ed, arrived on time throughout the project and kept me updated on the progress of the job and about any issues that came up. He was also friendly and knowledgeable. The project was completed on time and with no issues or complaints to speak of. I would definitely recommend Gen3 for any electrical projects, and will use them in the future for any future electrical projects in my house.
Ben was great to work with. He came on time and went straight to work. He answered all my questions. He gave me updates on the good and not so good. He was very professional. He still has more to complete but Im very happy he has my heating system working better than ever. Ive used Gen3 several times. I even recommended them to family who were very pleased.
I highly recommend GEN3 for all your electrical needs. From scheduling with Kevin over the phone to the actual work done was great. Brian S. Was our tech and he was so professional and helpful. He explained everything well and gave us estimates on everything. He didnt try to push us at all when we decided not to do some of the tasks, which I appreciate. The work he did was flawless and seemed reasonably priced. He definitely went above and beyond for us, even checking a few things others would have probably charged us for. We will be recommending them to others as well!
Aaron and Brandon were professional and explained what they were going to do each morning when they arrived. We had the knob and tube wiring replaced, the panel replaced, and various other things done. It took 5 days and they were efficient and cleaned up and patched all areas where they had to break through the wall. We hired them because they were recommended to us by friends and I think we made the right choice. The install coordinator and customer service team were friendly and helpful as well.
I cannot say enough good things about GEN3! They were extremely professional and communicative, sent confirmations and reminders, and even texted me a pic and bio of my electrician before he arrived. Its some of the best customer service I have ever experienced with a contractor. On of top of that, they did a minor repair above and beyond what they were hired for at no extra charge, and their prices were extremely reasonable to begin with. Ill be recommending them to everyone I know and absolutely using them again in the future myself. If only every trade had companies like this!
I have been using Gen3 for about a year now. I love this company. They are kind, professional, and they get the job done. Its really easy to schedule appointments. The owners and their technicians are awesome. For instance, Justin came to look at an issue I was having for which I had taken my TV off the wall. He identified the issue, described how we can fix it, and before he left, he helped me hang the TV back on the wall. Hes what we call a mensch where I come from. Cant recommend these folks highly enough.
UPDATE: After writing this review, Gen3 management contacted me and our experience improved. Im increasing the rating because they were apologetic, communication improved greatly, and they got a crew out to make our system operational.-------------------------------We contracted Gen3 for the relatively large job of replacing our furnace and installing AC throughout our home.As the installers were packing up they let me know that the air-handler they installed in our attic was not working and that someone would be in contact with me later that day or the next day.No one from Gen3 contacted me for 5 days despite me contacting the office multiple times.Eventually an appointment was schedule to fix the brand-new equipment they installed for the 8th day since the installation crew left. That appointment was cancelled last-minute and reschedule for 11th day. On the 11th day, no one from Gen3 showed up.In addition to all of this, the attention to detail with the installation was poor. I never would have written a review of a local business about these things alone, but in combination with the other issues it paints a clearer picture of what to expect:- One of the ceiling vents isnt flush with the ceiling- In multiple rooms the installers left blue-goo (Im assuming leak detection fluid) drips down the wall, on the baseboards, and puddled on the floor. By the time I noticed this the baseboards were stained in multiple spots and needed to be repainted.- They managed to gouge one of the plank of a brand-new floor that we had installed on one of our rooms two weeks prior.The sales consultant we worked with before the installations was helpful and responsive, so we had had high hopes of how this job would go. Unfortunately, the reality is that Gen3 is irresponsible and unresponsive. The lack of care, communication, and proactive efforts to make this situation right is bad business, disrespectful, and is at this point insulting.
Nov 2020: while it was unfortunate that I needed Gen3 to come back to fix a problem with the outdoor light installation they did a few months back, Tom figured out and fixed the issue quickly and efficiently. I was very pleased with how they resolved the situation.June 2020: I had a very good service experience with Bill today. I needed a good bit of rewiring done for my kitchen and back yard outlets and Bill found quite a few surprises along the way. He checked in with me continually while problem solving so that I was happy with the final result. He was also nearly an hour early, which was a pleasant surprise.
We had a terrific experience with GEN3. They worked with us through many rounds of estimates until we came to a price and scope we were comfortable with. They were responsive every step of the process. We had two other contractors estimating the project and had trouble all the way with scope recommendations and responsiveness. When the work started Dan G and Miguel were professional, easy to talk to and communicated clearly what was being done and issues or questions that arose. They were both excellent to work with. I highly recommend GEN3. Full disclosure we ended spending more than we initially wanted but got everything we needed and had a good experience. We will use them again when the time comes for more services they offer.
We are new homeowners (in a very old house) and we have already used Gen3 for a major electrical project as well as HVAC monitoring/maintenance. Travis has checked out our HVAC system and been super informative, which we appreciate because there is a lot for us to wrap our arms around. We also had Dan, John and Roger here for several days doing a knob and tube remediation. They were very thorough and shared a lot of information. And when we were in the process of negotiating on the house, Josh did the initial knob and tube evaluation then spent an hour on the phone with me so Id have all the context my husband and I needed to make decisions. The office and dispatch team is communicative and professional. So overall, weve had very positive experiences with friendly, knowledgeable people!
Mike M was awesome! Came out and replaced my ceiling fan and even helped secure it since the last one was apparently just hanging in the ceiling. Caught some issues in my panel and took the time to educate me on them. And didn’t make fun of me when my non-working outlet was just a switch in the off position 😬. Cyndy in the office was super friendly as well! Definitely recommend GEN3!
I needed a full knob and tube re-wire and removal in a 1100 square foot row home in Philadelphia. After obtaining multiple quotes I was most impressed with Gen3 so I decided to use them and they did not disappoint. They worked with me on price, were well organized, professional and seemed to be the most desiring to do the work.To start their technician, Josh, that came out to do the quote was able to come earlier than expected, was super thorough and did a great job explaining everything.Gen3 was able to start the work in 2 days and finished within the expected time frame provided. The technicians, CJ, Mark and Chris, that did the work were also very nice, punctual, communicated with me everyday and did great work. I also had them install 6 recess lights and 3 ceiling fans. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their work and working for Gen3.I would definitely use them again and refer them to friends, family, neighbors and strangers.

He was friendly, knowledgeable, on-time, professional, respectful, and knew exactly what he was doing. I continue to be satisfied with Gen3.The whole Gen3 onboarding crew and my assigned specialist, Matt, were great. Everyone with whom I spoke on the phone at Gen3 was friendly knowledgeable, patient, and willing to answer all of my questions and explain in detail everything about Gen3, the services that Gen3 offers, and the whole process of having a specialist come out, provide a quote, and complete any work.I received a call and text to notify me that my Gen3 specialist was on the way on the day of my appointment. This was so great and helpful. Matt arrived on time, was friendly, and listened to everything that I had to ask and say and answered all of my questions and provided his expert and honest opinion. He was never condescending, and I never felt rushed. He took the time to assess properly. It was clear that he is experienced and knowledgeable, knows how to do his job well, and is a practiced-hand, which was reassuring. Matt provided his quotes/summary very quickly, and Gen3 called to follow up on the visit quickly, as well.I am very happy that I chose Gen3. It is an efficiently-run and a modern, tech-forward company. I can hardly think of any business large or small that I have encountered as efficiently-run as Gen3.
Again fantastic experience. One review is not enough.I forgot to mention that Bill literally saved me hundreds of dollars in the end. On top of that he also saved my home and my life.While rewiring my 1911 colonial revival home, Bill came across an inconspicuous light fixture backed by knob and tube. Little did we all know that the fixture was actually concealing a gas pipe termination. At some point that pipe powered a gas light fixture. Who ever terminated that gas pipe in the past set a ticking time bomb.While rewiring the old light chandelier, Bill smelled a rush of gas. He reacted so quickly and courageously. Bill instinctively ran into the basement and shut off the gas line, all the while putting himself at great risk.Truly a selfless act. Words can not express my gratitude.As a bonus, he also brought to my attention a potential water leak. While fishing a wire Bill noticed a pipe in the ceiling that was strangely put together. Had he not called me I would be dealing with costly water damage.Bill went above and beyond. He truly cares about his craft, his team mate and his clients. He takes a project and owns it.
They canceled my appointment without even looking at the job for all new work with new framing and complete rewire where everything is open and easily accessible. You’d think this would be a home run job to them but instead they opted out after setting an appointment and again not even giving me the courtesy to take a look at the job. Assuming they google mapped the address saw the area and this was the real reason they declined the job. They completely wasted 3 days of my time to try and find an electrician to do the work.
Evan and his partner (Mike, I think??) were great. When they arrived, they listened carefully to our needs. They provided a reasonable quote on the spot and did the work immediately. They installed an exterior outlet, relocated an outlet in my kitchen, and installed a whole-house surge protector on our panel all in under two hours. They were super careful with distancing and wearing masks and shoe protectors in the house, and they left their work areas clean when they were finished.
My house is a little bit of a fixer upper. Ive had several technicians come out for different kinds of services the past year and Gen3 was by far the best. Fast, on time, professional. I felt very comfortable and at ease with having the technician in my home, and the work he completed (fixed an outlet and repaired the connection to another outlet) was superb! I have a couple other bigger projects that need to be completed and will definitely be using them when the time comes. Definitely worth the money.
Jim and Branden were completely awesome! They love doing their work and are great at it. They helped me to run wiring in the most convenient spot. They were kind, helpful and courteous.I wish I could say the same for the manager who answered the phone the day before when I tried to get an idea of when the service would take place. A more compassionate manner would match the technicians who arrived the next day.
John Y from Gen3 installed a dedicated outlet for us. He was professional and knowledgeable. Also, even though it wasnt in our original work request, he happily replaced an old ceiling fan for us with a new light fixture. Everyone else I spoke to from the company was also very professional. They were very communicative from the first time I reached out until the work was complete. All around great service.
I called and Evan from Gen 3 came out as 3 outlets in my basement weren’t working. Evan worked from 8:30 until 3:30. He was thorough, professional, on time, friendly, and Evan explained everything to me. I was given a price before he started working. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen issues with added on jobs. he will have to come back to complete the add on jobs. I can’t say enough about Generation 3 Electric. They are the best! Now my outlets that didn’t work, work! I highly recommend them.had a problem with my outside lights. I called an got an appointment for the next day. Unfortunately, a couple emergencies came up and jobs ran late. Both the office and a John called to let me know and gave me a chance to reschedule if I wanted to. John got here within the time he stated. He was friendly, Covid-19 prepared, and though it was the end of his day, he took the time to figure out my problems. John took the time to listen to me and explain what he was doing and why. Though friendly, John was also very professional. He gave me some options and let me decide which to go with, no hard sale. John also gave me his card, so if my lights continue to have a problem, he will come back. We both feel fairly certain he solved both issues,though. Call Gen 3 for your electric needs. Ask for John but if he’s not free you won’t go wrong with the other electricians.
Justin was incredibly professional and friendly. He helped explain my HVAC system to me and pointed out any services we may need in the future. The entire GEN3 experience was incredibly pain free as well from booking an appointment to billing. Will be using them again in the future.
Along with a separate issue, we needed an outlet installed outside (were sick of running the cord for the weed eater through the backyard screen door). Mike came out and installed the outlet in short order, plus replaced the porch light fixture. Everything looks amazing and works perfectly! Plus, the outlet is protected in such a way that even if we get some major storms, we will be ok. We are repeat Gen3 customers already, and based on this experience, will continue calling the folks at Gen3 Electric whenever we have any electrical issues.
Really enjoyed the service from Gen3 from beginning to end. Front office was responsive, proactive with communication, and followed up as soon as the job was complete to get our feedback. Mike J. did our estimate and walked us through several changes/questions in subsequent emails. He was excellent. Bill and Griffen were friendly and thorough in their work. There was some trouble in following the plan that we submitted from our lighting designer, but we eventually got the layout we desired! Overall, would highly recommend Gen3!
Wonderful experiences with Kevin and Dan. Hired to remove knob and tube and rewire our house. They were responsive with a quick consultation and quote and when Dan and his team came out to work on the house they were reliable, professional, efficient, and always very helpful offering suggestions. Kept the site clean and always friendly to have in the house.Cannot say enough good things; recommend without reservation.
The entire GEN3 team was great. They quickly helped me through a minor emergency at an investment property with no heat, and they successfully installed a new radiator boiler within a few days of originally contacting them, despite a snowstorm! I was impressed with the high level of service and would definitely consider working with them again. I had been screwed over by a small-time contractor who disappeared, and the professional communication and timeliness of GEN3 was so refreshing in comparison.
So, so experience tbh.While their technicians were nice and knowledgeable, Ive been disappointed with Gen3s approach to servicing existing HVAC systems.On the other hand, Ive had no issues with their electricians.I will say they are great when it comes to timely scheduling.

We used gen3 a few times and we’re pretty satisfied until we asked them to service our hvac. They came to service it and told us we needed to replace the condenser ($600). A week later the hvac stopped working. They came back to fix it and another week later it stopped functioning again. They came back to look at it early November and they finally found the issue (after spending another $100). We were told it would take 2 weeks maximum to get a piece. Here we are a month later and still haven’t heard anything back from them. We spent thousands of dollars in less than a year and this is the kind of customer service we get..
I had an appointment scheduled. I was contacted that they were having a very busy day-but they managed to get Matt to come out anyway. He fixed my kitchen outlets and put in a new outlet for me. He was friendly and thorough, and was finished really fast. Matt gave me several options but didnt try to upsell me at all. The price was a little less than I had guessed, and I feel like I have a new kitchen! Gen3 is the best in Philly! Thanks Matt!
Two reviews here, one for the estimate and one for the service. Big picture: They were great and I will go back to them for my future electrical needs.Josh T. did a great job with the estimate. He was very personable, willing to explore different pricing options (as in, I didnt feel like he was trying to pressure me get the most expensive thing, but rather help me find what would be the best fit for me).Dan and Jon came out for the actual service. We had a sconce replaced, a light fixture fixed, and new ceiling lighting installed. Everything looks great! They were able to make adjustments on the fly, and took an extra item out of our final payment that we didnt end up needing. Basically--they did a professional job, met our needs, and Im very happy with the results.The only reason for the 4 stars is that for the largest job (replacing the light fixture), they ended up leaving a mess. They didnt tarp the room and didnt clean up after, which was disappointing. So just be sure to ask them to clean up before they leave ;). That said, all the major stuff (i.e. did they do a good job and would I trust them to do a good job again?) checks out.Their customer service is also responsive which is an extra perk! Overall, I recommend.
The overall process and experience with Gen3 is what I expected of a premium company. I enjoyed the sales experience as options were provided to me to make sure I had exactly what I wanted and was comfortable with. Bill and his apprentice did a fantastic job with the work and it has me thinking about doing a few more projects with them. Would definitely use Gen3 again for my electrical work.
Gen 3 recently updated my entire house and they did an excellent job. They were very clear and up front about everything from start to finish. The job took exactly as long as they said and came in just under the estimate. The crew Dan G, Luis D, and Dan C were delightful. They always kept us in the loop every step of the way and were very respectful of our time and space. I’m thrilled with the work they did and would definitely recommend them!Update: Gen 3 did some more work for us this week and as always it was a great experience. This time our technician was Tom and he was a joy to have in our home. He answered our many questions with knowledge and patience and went above and beyond! Highly recommend.
The professional, John, who arrived was knowledgeable, courteous and described what the issues were that caused an outlet to short out. He gave me multiple options for levels of work to be done; and he replaced the switch, and the company will be updating/replacing my panel at a future date to bring it in compliance with the current code. High recommendation. We found out that we grew up in the same home town, and his dad was my childhood dentist! A bonus. John adhered to Covid safety protocols as well- masked, shoes covered and distancing.Update: Gordon came to install the new upgraded panel,(200 amp), repair three outlets and install an additional one outside and ground the system according to current code. They came when they said, worked diligently all day, and communicated well throughout the process. They adhered to all safety protocols and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use this company again if the need arises. I received a follow up call from the office, after the work was done to make sure everything was satisfactory.Update: Thomas M. Did installation of two light fixtures, a dimmer switch and upgrade of an outlet- yet another prompt, pleasant and knowledgeable member of the team.

They have provided exceptional service on each project small or large: relocating outlets and switches, installing dimmers for the many switches, installing under cabinet lighting, reorganize the switches to better coordinate already installed lighting throughout the house, install four ceiling fans, assess the HVAC for better comfort and performance, install new ceiling light fixtures for a new home office, and more... It was easy to secure an appointment through their website. The office calls quickly to confirm and followup. We receive texts and emails to alert us when GEN3 will arrive. They are always on time! All of the technicians are kind, thoughtful, efficient, caring about our needs and provide helpful feedback to our questions. They are responsive, responsible, knowledgeable and organized. From my first call to schedule an estimate I was impressed by the customer service. I had both an electrical and HVAC assessment done. Brian came out the the electrical estimate. He was timely, professional and kind. He walked me through everything that needed to be done and explained how the parts worked in a way that was understandable to someone knows nothing about electric work. He explained what work was necessary and what could wait. I like the way this company provides its estimates; they give you options and different price points. My kitchen lighting is awesome; it’s like I’m really seeing my kitchen for the first time. Brian and his partner were great! I will be getting additional electrical work and HVAC work as well. Very pleased!
Justin performed my first annual maintenance check on my natural gas heater. He made sure to answer all of my questions, and he asked multiple times throughout the visit whether I had any unresolved concerns. After I asked about air filtration options, I received estimates within a couple hours after my appointment.Ive also had electrical work done by GEN3, and the staff were professional and competent. They pointed out work that would bring my house up to new building codes, explaining the benefits without pushing expensive products on me. I also asked for and received LOTS of estimates for additional work that Id like to get done in the house (in phases).Very happy with all that GEN3 has done for me!
Rob Z was extremely professional, friendly and informative. I received my estimate in a very timely manner and will be using Gen Z to get mini-splits installed in my home. Am very excited!Steven S., Jeff W., Eric Z., and Oussama were the techs that came in and installed the Mitsubishi ductless air conditioning system in my second floor.they were on time both days, worked very hard each day, were very professional and courteous. Gen3 is amazing. They are always helpful and honest. I have only had great experiences with their technicians. John Y. did an excellent job with the repair and went above and beyond to help us figure out what to do moving forward. I signed up for a membership during their first visit to my house and it is well worth it. If you own a house I highly recommend using Gen3!
Aaron, Brandon, and John did a whole home rewiring for us. They were the best!! They went above and beyond and provided exceptional service. They were extremely professional and made sure we were happy with the work done and that we were informed throughout the process. There were several unforeseen problems in our house but they dealt with them all in stride and were able to find good solutions. They are also very friendly and all around good guys. We recently had Evan from Gen 3 electric do some work adding LED lights to our shop. The work was great (we are so happy with the new, shiny look of our store front). Evan was super nice, friendly, and very easy to chat with. He was on time and did quick work. As a woman owned business, sometimes it can feel like contractors are talking down to us, Evan was not like that at all! We also worked with Jessica and Tiffany who were very nice and helped schedule all the work. We will definitely be using them in the future for our electrical needs.
I’ve done an almost total rewire with Gen3 and an HVAC. (An investment!!). A few things needed tweaking a few months later and they fixed it right away with no surprise charges. It’s one thing to do a job, it’s another to provide post-work support. That means a lot and why I am a repeat customer. Matt came today and was professional, clean and quick. He also made sure to take the time to explain. Great work again!
From the initial call with the very pleasant and patient dispatcher gentleman to the visit from Evan , I couldn’t be more pleased! Evan was on time and very thorough. He gave me the quote in great detail and was diligent throughout the day. I work from home and am on calls all day long. Tried to get GEN 3 to do an estimate for work that I was hoping to get done. They asked if I had the flexibility to reschedule, I told them I didnt, so they rescheduled me anyway. Then they asked to reschedule the month later appointment. I just dont have the flexibility to keep rearranging my work schedule around them. Its taken 2 months to get to this point, who knows how long it would take to get the job actually completed, and if its not done right, you could be looking at a year to get any remediation done.
We had Gen3 come out to install three ceiling fans and fix a wiring issue on a chandelier. Everybody we interacted with was so professional and courteous. Tiffany in the office was very helpful on the phone for scheduling. When John Y came to our house he was immediately warm and helpful. I was most impressed that he paid attention to little details. Most technicians in my experience refer to rooms by location in the house (that room in the front, etc.) but I really appreciated that John referred to the rooms by my kids names. Little touches like that made me really comfortable having him in our home. He did great work and we will use Gen3 again.
Make forced hot air heating system had begun rattling and gotten much louder. Was able to get an appointment quickly with them. Came out in a Gen3 van and in Gen3 clothing (always makes me feel safer!), 100% distance and facemasked. The tech, Eric, did a great and professional job. John Yeomans from Gen 3 came to our home yesterday for part one of a project. He was courteous, kind and respectful of our home. Wore a mask the whole time, which was great! He fully explained the scope of the work and thoughtfully answered all of our questions. As new homeowners, this was all we could ask for. I look forward to him returning for the water heater and other odds/ends.
Recently, Justin came out to inspect my furnace and install a new thermostat. He was really helpful and explained a lot about my system and the tests he was running. He answered all my questions and provided some estimates for future work I’m thinking about doing without pressuring me to do it ASAP. Gen3 was also super responsive throughout. I talked with Tiffany and Jessica, both before my appointment and afterward. I even got an email with a photo of Justin before my appointment so I’d know who to expect at my door. I loved how responsive this company is and will definitely return to them for future electrical or HVAC work!
I highly recommend Gen3 Electric. I came in contact with at least four of their electricians. All of them were extremely professional and thorough. They came out on two occasions. One to assess our amp service. We ultimately signed on with this company to upgrade to a much needed 200 amp service. I also called for an emergency service call. They came out the same day (for a fee). Although the prices may be higher than other electricians, they do have the resources for emergency service (which we needed). Mark, Dan (and his install associate) and Brian were excellent. I will definitely use Gen3 Electric again. They were organized, efficient and left the space where they were working clean. Gen3 installed and serviced mini splits in my house. Ive had some recent condensation issues and Gen3 has come out on time and has professionally assessed the problem and gave what should be an easy fix. The technician Matt was great and assessed my concerns. I plan to continue to use Gen3.
Follow up my minisplit was leaking a Gen3 did such a great job getting a Tech out. Justin the tech was very good with AWESOME customer service.I had heating and Cooling systems installed by Gen 3. Great company/ team to work with my HVAC technicians Jim, Jeffrey, Liz, & Nicole are amazing to work with very professional, super respectful of my house, efficient, finished the job exactly on schedule. We are very satisfied with Gen3 and would recommend to friends and family. We hired for a substantial knob and tube rewire, in addition to some other work. The initial assessment from Mike J was thorough and clearly explained. Kevin and Luis provided excellent service. They were professional, thorough, punctual, and clear communicators throughout the process. The scheduling and communication from Nicole and Lauren was clear and seamless as well.
I hired Gen 3 to install a bell for my sprinkler system. Evan was great! Courteous, professional and skilled! The job was form in a few hours and I can easily see the quality of workmanship. Josh T was fantastic—way above and beyond what we were expecting! He spent over 2 hours at our new home (for a free estimate), walking us through all scenarios and helping us troubleshoot various issues. He was thorough, communicative, and easy to work with. I learned a lot from him, which was much appreciated as a new homeowner. We’re still compiling options for our electrical projects, but I look at the 3 Cs: Competence, Character, and Cost. Josh was outstanding in competence and character! I’m still comparing costs, but if Gen 3 is at least somewhat competitive there, Josh will be our go-to!
I have used the services of Gen 3 for over 10 years, both at my home and business, and have never been disappointed in any work they have done. Most recently, I spoke with Lauren and Nicole about scheduling a visit to replace a light fixture, and that day Stan arrived to assess my problem. He made some great recommendations and soon had the job complete. The people at Gen 3 never disappoint. They are not happy until you are happy.
I have a Ring smart doorbell whose battery seems to die faster and faster and time goes on. After many missed rings, I wanted to get the doorbell hardwired so I didnt have to worry about the battery.I just had Evan from GEN3 out and he did a wonderful job. He called on his way, walked through the process, gave me a couple options to pick from, and knocked out the work right right away. My home was left as clean as when he arrived and I couldnt be happier.The Ring smart doorbell is now hardwired and I can enable features that were not supported on battery mode. :)Id recommend GEN3 and Im happy to now have a go-to Electric & HVAC company to work with. (2.5 STARS) We used Gen3 for a knob and tube rewire which cost 14,500. Using Gen3 was initially a good option for us as they offer financing options and have a reputation for good customer service. We really liked the electrician (Josh T) who came out to evaluate our knob and tube wiring and quote the job. Unfortunately, the workmanship of our technician was so poor, I regret having hired Gen3.The electrician we were assigned said he had worked 15 days in a row which could explain the lower quality work. We did not agree to very many add-ons/upsells on the first day of the job which frustrated the electrician because he was a top sales performer for the previous month (why would you tell a customer that!). The electrician explained that he had a daily quota to meet and only had 7-7.5 days allotted to complete our work based on the job price (Not a good value at $2000/day). He left without connecting our furnace, porch light and living room outlets or cleaning up. When we contacted him directly, he told us he would have to come back on his own time on a Saturday or we would have to wait until January(with no heat!). We contacted Gen3s office and they promptly provided a solution and a supervisor (Kevin D) came out to finish the job by the end of the week. Gen3 did meet my expectations on their customer service which is why I would rate my overall experience at 2.5 stars, as opposed to 1 star.
We had Thomas Mulvehill do a fantastic job at our home today. We had 4 light fixtures replaced and a new direct line outlet put in. He was very professional and did a great job on all of the work. The lights look great and he cleaned up all of the mess. Well be using gen3 again for sure.
I used GEN3 following a home inspection where I was advised to have an electrician come out to take a look at a few electrical items uncovered by the inspector. Josh, the electrician who came to our home, was AWESOME! Super friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. He was also amazing with our 3 pets! I’d recommend GEN3 to anyone. Incredible service and from the coordination to the moment they left our home.
Thomas from Gen 3 was great! He was able to fish a wire in a already built duplex with minimal holes drilled and took the time to patch the ones he did have to make. He was professional and actually arrived a little early. The job was done as expected and a minor issue was resolved the same day with ease. Gen3 is very professional HVAC//Electrical company. The technician is ordering the appropriate part for my forced air heater. The previous contractor put on a universal igniter that failed with a few months. I appreciate the ease of getting an appointment. Text messages confirmed your appointment. The technician politely called before his arrival. He courteously covered his shoes at the door. He also made sure I understood what was going to happen to resolve the issue. Gen3 will back up their work for two full years.
Gen 3 did a great job for me. They scheduled an appointment for me within a week, and Mike came and reviewed a whole host of different electrical projects, as well as identifying several issues needing attention to make my system safe. He was provided multiple quotes and was very responsive adjusting and tweaking the projects and providing updated quotes.Osiris and Tom came out to do the actual work. They arrived within the designated window of time and contacted me in advance to give me an ETA. On arrival, they walked through the intended scope of work with me to make sure that I understood exactly what they would be doing and to confirm it matched my expectations. In addition, they answered my questions and provided additional guidance as the work began, and they were able to make a few changes to the original plan to give me a better outcome, while keeping me apprised of exactly what to expect in terms of changes in cost. They completed the work in a reasonable time and then walked through with me to make sure everything was acceptable. Thanksa lot! I will definitely recommend G3 to others needing electrical work.
We’ve used Gen3 a bunch of times and they have always delivered. Their team is great at letting us know who is coming (with a picture!) and when and calls ahead with accurate ETAs every time. Brian has been to our house a few times and did another impeccable job adding a new outlet and running a bunch of unsightly cables through the wall to make our router less of an eyesore. Masks and booties were worn and I heard the vacuum running a few times as he worked. Everything was clean and better than how it was when he arrived!
Really great service. We haven’t had the best of luck with contractors but gen3 (we had Brian) are supper efficient and professional. They came to hardwire our doorbell and add an outdoor outlet. Really helpful and explained everything. Did the quote on the spot and the work right away. Price wasn’t too bad but for quality of service it is well worth the workmanship and piece of mind. Thanks Gen3, we will definitely be in touch for some other work we have planned..Just as an update, we had Gen3 back for more electrical work (this time to fit a ceiling fan), done by Jon Pucci. Great service once againAnother update (19-March-2021) hade Gen3 back to install 2 light fixture boxes, this time by Matt. Again, great service, in and out in 45min and good work.
Fantastic! Thats how I would explain my experience with Thomas M. as the installer. Gen3 was great w/ their communication, but scheduling was meh a lot of room for improvement there. My 5 star rating is based on the work of the installer, his commitment to get the job done, and attention to detail. If you get Thomas as the installer your in for a great experience! He was on time, cordial, ensured I was informed throughout the process, completed the job ABOVE my expectations, and cleaned up after himself with x fine tooth comb. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The customer service level is excellent at Gen3! Tiffany and Jessica were super friendly and helpful on the phone. Its so nice to deal with friendly and happy people--especially when they help you in an emergency.My technician, Justin Henry, was SO polite and nice. He had to come out a couple times for two different repairs, once even after hours, but he was always friendly and personable. He kept me posted on his progress and explained everything he was doing and answered all of my questions. He even put on and took off shoe booties each time he went in and out of my house. I was really impressed with that care! Thank you!
John Y did a fantastic job. He called on the way to let us know approximate arrival time and was prompt in arrival. John surveyed everything that needed to be done and was thorough in his work. After his survey was complete, he communicated clearly and in lay man’s terms as to what needed to be done. John was honest in his assessment and provided advice on the urgency of some projects and available time for other projects. Gen3 will be our go to when we need work!
Update 1: I appreciate the Managements efforts to resolve this problem. They posted a sign on door telling their drivers where they should and shouldnt park their trucks. This has help, when they listen.1st: Very inconsiderate employees! I live down the street from this place. They park illegally, blocking a water hydrant and curb crossing, Every Morning! They make it unsafe for children crossing the street. They leave their trucks parked up and down the street for days at a time. They park on the curb in front of residential housing. South Philly already has bad parking, now we have to deal with your trucks. Theyre really inconsiderate of their neighbors.
I use GEN3 for all my electrical needs. My latest update was to relocate the electrical outlets in my master closet and install a new light. Evan was great, did everything I needed and my new master closet is amazing. Scheduling was easy with Jessica and Nicole and they even worked around some travel woes (cancelled flights due to thunderstorms) on my side. Next project is to replace my builder grade lights throughout the house and Im going to be calling on GEN3 for that too!Most recently used GEN3 for some repairs to my recessed lighting in the basement. Mike was super fast and efficient, everything looks great.
We had two excellent electricians come out to do a complex install of our outdoor heaters. Dan Giuliani, and Seamus Grimms were kind, professional, and knowledgeable. The install was clean, and thorough.They were considerate as we continued business at the restaurant throughout the install. I had Osiris and his assistant John out for a core rewire project in June of 2020. We needed to take some of the pressure off of our knob and tube system, but didnt want to do a full knob and tube rewire. The core rewire was an efficient way to move forward.Osiris and John arrived on time each day and completed the work in a professional manner. I have hired some plumbers, some handymen, some roofers in my time at this home, and its been a bit of a mixed bag. Gen3 is hands down the best service provider Ive hired in my nearly 4 years at this old home that needs some care from time to time.Frankly it looked like Osiris and John werent even here - besides some small patches in the walls that I need to paint, you wouldnt even know there was a major rewiring project completed at this home. Cheers to Gen3 and their team, and thanks to Josh T. for providing a thorough estimate and explanation of the work before starting it.
I had a great experience from initial inspection and estimate to work completion. Michael, who did the inspection, was incredibly thorough and really took the time to explain things to me. Dan and Ian were great. Dan was very communicative and kept me updated. He even sent daily pictures of the progress. Anyone I spoke with was incredibly professional and pleasant. I would use Gen3 again in the future without a doubt.Update 10/4/19: Ended up needing more electrical work and used GEN3 again just like I said I would. I didnt even consider using anyone else. Generation 3 is a great company. While you can probably get similar services elsewhere cheaper, the quality of Generation 3’s work and their professionalism is worth the money you pay. We have used their services in both of our houses and we have no complaints. Their tech Mike is particularly awesome.

John Ys the most knowledgeable and friendly electrician & HVAC specialist (and more) I know. I appreciate his professional, care-filled service and ability to solve my problems in ways that prevent it from recurring (or others from cropping up). All that and we enjoyed a few laughs, which I find priceless during this pandemic. When I consider John Ys excellent work combined with Gen3s thoughtful, forward-thinking, and humane management of its services, I not only got my HVAC problems solved in a timely, efficient manner, but had what would have been a miserable week end on an upbeat note. Our furnace was having issues for years and finally stopped working. We were under the impression that it would have to be replaced entirely. Travis did an excellent job diagnosing the true cause of the problem (something that three other technicians from other companies were unable to identify) saving us thousands of dollars! Very friendly, professional, and on-time as well. Will definitely be using GEN3 in the future, and would recommend Travis to friends who need work done on their HVAC.
I recently had some major work done on an antique home that was recently purchased. The previous owner did a poor job of installing and maintaining the electrical box, wiring and even the meter. The combination caused the power to go out when it rained. GEN3 was recommended to us by a neighbor who said that a number of the old houses on the block were very pleased with the work GEN3 performed.We contacted customer service about an estimate and were quickly given an appointment with a detailed estimate. Jessica and Cyndy were in constant contact with us and the electricians arrived right on time.This was not an easy project, nothing in an old house is, but Aaron Davis and Jose Galabiz worked diligently to fix our problems and could even explain it to someone like me. I could hear Aaron and Jose talking about the repairs and it was always related to the best option for the house.The finished product was very professionally done and they left the house perfectly clean. I received a follow up call from both Cyndy and Aaron to check on the job. We could not be more thrilled with GEN3 and owe the neighbor who recommended them a debt of gratitude.

Our furnace failed the week before the big snow storm, they were able to get in 3 days later and install a new one. Had some difficulties on the install that spilled over through the snow storm, and as soon as they were able we got it going.Brought them back a month later for a punch list of electrical work. In and out in a day, 100% professional, even happy to let my son look at all their tools! Made his day!
I had a great experience with Gen3 Electric & HVAC! The outdoor unit of my central AC system stopped running, and Gen3 was able to get a technician out the next day to diagnose my problem. The issue was rather small and was ultimately an easy fix, and throughout I found the technician (Travis J.) as well as the company to be exceptionally professional, friendly, and thoughtful. I would definitely call Gen3 again for my future HVAC and electric maintenance needs!
I was having issues with one of my ductless HVAC units. Travis was very professional, informative, and attentive. Although I wasn’t home, he gave me a heads up before he came up. Travis also checked in with me before he left and explained what the issue was. Definitely recommend!
I called four HVAC companies in Philadelphia for an annual maintenance check but also to figure out why only the AC worked and not the heat after installing a new thermostat. Of the four messages I left, only Gen3 called back. The person who called back from Gen3 was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We made an appointment for Saturday morning after Thanksgiving (they dont give exact times). On Wednesday, I received a confirmation time with a window of 8 - 10 a.m. with the person telling me I was first on the list so the tech should arrive in the 8 oclock hour. At this point, I was really happy with Gen3. I also received an email confirming the appt. On Saturday morning at 9:40 a.m. I called Gen3 to ask if the tech was still coming and I was told that the new appointment was from 11 -12 because the techs work on a volunteer basis. I had completely rearranged my day around 8 - 10 a.m. so I was pretty unhappy with the change and it seemed like the tech had no idea there was an appointment when he finally arrived. Fortunately, the tech - Travis, lived near me so he arrived at 10:45 a.m. which still wasnt great considering that I believed he would be there close to 8. But, he was friendly and professional and found a couple of issues that I was unaware of, so in the long run was extremely helpful. What could have been a really awful experience, ended up being realatively painless because Travis was able to fix the issues. But, I will say, that there needs to be more communication between the front office and the techs. He really was unaware that I had an appointment - even though there was a call and email confirmation. All-in-all I would recommend Gen3 and highly recommend Travis.
Excellent service and communication overall. I had several “deferred maintenance” type repairs to be done. Evan was extremely through, did a great job of explaining to me what the issues were and why they recommended various fixes (I.e, why a particular fixture had to be replaced rather than repaired). He also pointed out a few things to keep an eye on, but was very realistic about it - no pressure to throw in more than I was looking for. I had to schedule pretty far out, which was fine with me since these weren’t emergencies - but I’m confident in the work and feel that you get what you pay for. Would definitely use them again for any other issues.
Great company! I previously used this company a few years ago and they are still excellent. The website allowed me to schedule a convenient time and their office staff, Tiffany and Janay, quickly contact you to review the tasks and follow-up after the job is completed. Evan was great-so professional (wore shoe covers to protect the carpet) and quickly completed the job. In addition, he answered my general electric questions. Happy with the entire process and highly recommend.

Evan, the technician who serviced my home, was polite, pleasant, and throughly answered my questions.The work was completed quickly and Evan followed Covid-19 guidelines. I was introduced to Gen 3 electric over the summer and had a great experience with Stan. When I had an issue with my porch light, I knew exactly who to call. The folks at Gen 3 got my scheduled right away and my guy Stan came through again. He was super prompt and also very informative about the entire process. They do really good work!
Gen3 installed our mini-split system just under a year ago. The original crew (Brian M, Jim B, Eric Z) did a spectacular job and Gen3’s customer service was a big reason we went with them. Recently, Travis J came out for a quick service check, he diagnosed the issue quickly and was willing to spend time discussing it making sure we were happy with the result.

They promptly handled the permitting billing and scheduling the job. Finally today Dan and Evan were the icing on the cake they were very friendly and gave us time frame for the completion of installing 3 electrical boxes and a service line. We needed to replace the power panel in our condo. William from Gen3 could not have done a better job and we are extremely satisfied in his work. We very much appreciated the meticulous way he completed every step giving us full confidence it was done right. He even took the extra time to install a GFCI on our deck that was not on his original work order. For as long as we lived in the city we used Gen3 and although every electrician has been good, William was exceptional.
I am very handy and do most of my own home renovation work, but I could not figure out some lighting and switch wiring problems. Yet Thomas from Gen3 was able to work through the issues efficiently, taking the time to explain the situation.Additionally, Gen3 had identified a safety issue with my main breaker panel during their initial assessment. Thomas read through the prior report, reviewed their pictures, and even went so far as to communicate with the initial person inspecting the panel to make sure the issues were fixed correctly.
Ive used Gen3 numerous times in the past, and have always had excellent experiences with both customer service and the work completed. Yesterday, Thomas M. came out to my condo to look at 2 kitchen lights that were malfunctioning. The day of the appointment, I received a text message (and email) wih Toms picture and bio to say he was on his way. Tom assessed the issue quickly, was friendly and polite, and completed the work fast. Also, Jess in the office was great with setting up my appointment in record time. Thank you Gen3 :)
Really professional and easy company to deal with. Always got back right away, were on time with every aspect, and make use of a good website and not having to rely on back and forth phone calls or hand written invoices and such. Mike first came to our house an helped map out recessed lighting that would work best as we did not have an exact layout we wanted and also found ways to upgrade our panel and improve its safety without having to replace the entire box. Osiris and Dan were the electricians that did the work and they were very professional and answered any and all questions I had. I honestly was not expecting to be impressed with an electric company, but was, and would highly recommend.
Evan from gen3 did an awesome job wiring in a new outlet. He laid out multiple options as I have an older home and there is more work that should be done for safety/code purposes. He explained the options and why they should be done in a very easy to understand way. He completed the job with no mess and a perfect finished product. Ive used gen3 twice now and have been very happy with the results both times.
Very satisfied with the HVAC work I had done by GEN3. Scheduling was easy, they were flexible and able to work around my availability. The technician was great but the prices were way too high for residential work, at least to my liking.The technician was very helpful and was able to fix one of the problems I was having but the quote I got for the rest of the work was more than any company should be charging. Im sure they do great work and provide guarantees however the price wasnt worth it for me.I was able to work with a another company, got a better suggestion and a much more reasonable price.
Stan was just here to give us an estimate for redoing the lighting in two bedrooms and our basement living room. Extremely impressed with professionalism and price and we hired GEN3 on the spot. They also came highly recommended by friends who have used them frequently.This is a follow up...all the work is completed and we couldnt be more pleased. Tom was the electrician that did the work and everything turned out beautifully. Tom even went the extra mile the second day and worked late to finish the job.
Reposting a deleted review - accidentally left it using the wrong email address!They are booked out several weeks in advance, which, while it is inconvenient for me, speaks to how popular they are. I have used Gen3 several times over the last few years and have found them to always be very responsive to inquiries, always on time, and always communicative. I dont find that theyll charge unnecessarily and they seem to always be fair with their assessments. For example, a few years ago, I asked for a technician to come out and fix a ceiling fan install from the year before. When he came out, he fixed it, but did not charge anything for the fix.With this most recent install, I needed an overhaul of my electric system, which was old, out of date, and sad. Aaron was on time and FAST...had everything done in about 5 hours.Also - online booking! Huge plus.10 out of 10, would recommend.
Mark the electrician from Gen3 did a great job this past Monday on some projects at my home. He was clean, personable, professional and very fast. Tiffany and Stephen at Gen3 were also courteous and professional in all our communications. I would not hesitate to recommend Gen3 for your electrical/HVAC needs!
Dave did an exceptional job at my home today. He did a ceiling fan, a dimmer, closet light, plus a dryer outlet.(Im drying my clothes now) Dave was fast, courteous, he cleaned up behind himself. I also joined as a service member. Gen 3 Electric has a new customer in town. I will get the rest of my home done with Gen3. Also the price was amazing. I will request Dave again because he does a good job and answers all your questions.

I literally never write online reviews. However, Gen3 team has been phenomenal from start to finish. I hired Gen3 for a substantial knob and tube replacement job. It was tedious job that required a lot of effort. The front office with Jessica and Janay made scheduling, coordination and payments easy! Kevin and Ivan were top notch in their work. Kevin has great attention to detail, and goes above and beyond to do the right thing, not just complete a job. I recommend them to anyone looking for major electrical work in their house or business.
Weve used Gen3 for years at multiple locations/houses and they always do a great job. They helped me with a semi-emergency to replace a malfunctioning electronic breaker and were able to get it done the same day that I requested the appointment. Gen3 dispatched Osiris who called before he arrived and was here right on time. He had the problem diagnosed, explained the issue that was causing the fault to me and then had a replacement part installed in less than 30 minutes. Thats great service. I would happily recommed Osiris and Gen3 to anyone with an electric problem.
John Yeomans replaced a disconnect box running to an HVAC compressor on my roof. Prior to the work he gave me an honest evaluation of the current box and explained to me the type of repair, cost and how it would help. John is friendly and professional and thorough -- would use again!
This is my second time using GEN3 to correct/repair issues in my older row home. Both times were as close to perfect as I could hope for. Their team is friendly and professional. Had a visit from Gen3 to problem solve two items for me. Once again they did not disappoint! This time my technician was Osiris - just to say what a great name whose parents apparently were fans of Greek mythology. Professional, polite, patient, and thoroughly explained everything. Great conversation in between me working, and checking in with him while he was working. Totally satisfied. I can’t say enough about Gen3 and all of their employees but today it was Osiris’ time to shine in my review!! Highly recommend this company and all of their employees.
Really impressed as a first time customer. I was able to make an appointment online, that was promptly confirmed by their office. I received a text prior to my techs arrival, which was incredibly helpful with a sleeping baby. Our tech Johnny was very friendly, efficient and professional - got our HVAC unit accessed and repaired in under 2 hours. Agreed that it was a little pricey, but worth the convenience and quick turnaround!

I recently had a ductless HVAC system installed in my center city condo. Is it possible to indicate more than five stars? From the initial contact, communication was extremely professional. Lauren went out of her way to present a very comprehensive scope of the work to our condo board for approval. She very patiently and articulately responded to all requests. Gen3 actually sent a representative (Ken) to our board meeting to assure that any questions would be immediately addressed. I live on the 12th floor of an historic mid-rise building. The installation was definitely atypical. Liz and Brian were in my home for five days. I can say without reservation that they surpassed expectations. They were courteous, careful, informative, organized and extremely productive. I would not hesitate to recommend Gen3 and I already have. Thank you!
Gen 3 is a great company. Very professional. Very reliable. When my wife and I first bought our house in NW Philly in 2014 (built in 1870s), they did a core rewire for us, replacing all of the old knob and tube. Since then, weve used them many times for other projects. Weve been very happy with the work and the customer service. Top notch company.

I reached out to Gen3 after having a bad experience with a competitor but Chris was super professional, able to explain my cooling issue to me, and creative about how to solve it. GEN3 are amazing! Travis worked efficiently to diagnose the problem with our central A/C and not only cleaned our dirty blower to perfection, but inspected every inch of our HVAC system to determine the problem, and then gave me my options for fixing the problem, which he did perfectly. We definitely are calling Travis and GEN3 the next time we have an HVAC need. We also are very happy with the customer support team of Jessica, Cyndy, and Stephen, all of whom were professional and friendly and assured we would receive the best service. All around, my experience with GEN3 exceeded my expectations, and we definitely will use their services again, should we need to. Thank you so much, GEN3!
I hired Gen3 to wire for ceiling fans and swap recessed lighting fixtures for a pendant fixture. The crew on site was Dan and Jon, and they were training a 3rd electrician (it was his first day). My conclusion with Gen3 is that you get what you pay for. They are certainly expensive compared to other electricians, but they have higher standards. The work was completed within the day as promised, to a high level of quality, and Dan communicated well with me throughout the day. Considering the amount of drywall dust, they cleaned up well.My only complaint is that the 3rd tech was being trained to patch drywall for the first time in my house, resulting in some poor quality patches compared to those done by Dan. I fully understand that I hired an electrician and not a drywall contractor, but I would recommend Gen3 does some shop training of new staff first. Otherwise, I am satisfied (despite having an empty wallet!)
From the minute we called to make the appointment, Tiffany & Cyndy were so helpful and professional. John gave me a heads up phone call before arriving so everything was so smooth. John was very open to working together to figure our the best solution for hanging our tv and the best placement for outlets. He was easy to work with and did an incredible job. It looks perfect. If we ever need more work done in the future, I hope they send John Yeomans!

2022-04-15Josh was the estimator. He did not pressure me into anything. He was knowledgeable, professional, informative, and gave me a fair price; not cheap and not expensive. I learned a long time ago the good work does not come cheap and cheap work does not come good.2 days later, Bill S. and his helper, Mike, came out and removed my 50+year old, 100amp electrical service and upgraded it to a new, Square D, 200amp service. They brought my electrical system up to code. They were prepared for the job, had a fully stocked van, were professional, efficient and methodical during the installation. They installed everything very neatly correctly. They cleaned up after themselves. NOTHING was too much trouble. I would recommend this company to anyone.

2022-01-08We do not recommend this company. First they delivered the wrong unit. They came back to install but we found out after they left that they damaged the unit. They did not have the nerve to even tell us. This was an expensive job over $10K and they billed us the total amount. We eventually got $2K refund after a lot of back and forth. We wont be using them again. This could have ended differently if they had the courtesy to inform us- its clear they knew as there is evidence they tried to fix it. Very unprofessional.

2021-11-17From start to finish, GEN3 makes sure you understand what you are going to be paying for. They put together multiple work estimates for the jobs based on different scenarios that they could run into, which I appreciated. I didn’t know they provided additional services such as hanging lights. I bought a vintage lamp months ago but had no idea how I was going to hang it myself, given my steep, narrow South Philly row home stairs. Mike and his helper got the job done flawlessly. There were no surprise charges. I appreciate the customer service and that their team follows up to make sure everything was done to the customer’s liking. I would use them again. Thank you!!

2021-11-19TLDR(too long didn’t read) Gen 3 did an incredible job. Seem less experience from estimate to installation. Beat the pricing of most electricians that came out and were the most professional, efficient and transparent.Here is some advice I will give to everyone. Call and schedule. I tried to schedule on the website and I was prompted with a fee and a time that was way further out. I understand that this would have applied to the eventual install but it never feels good to pay for an estimate. It was later explained that is typically for simple jobs that can be done in the moment. When the estimator came out not only did he give a fair price and inspect the job thoroughly he gave an honest opinion of what I should and shouldn’t do. Additionally he looked at a small light switch issue and… fixed it in the moment. He shared that he tells the office he does this sometimes so I shouldn’t be getting him in trouble. Others said they would changed 150-350 to resolve this simple issue. He did it in no time. Though he refused the tip I felt compelled because of his kindness. He also advised against a second charger that I was originally thinking of to save money.Booking was simple and only about 2 weeks out. Some other installers never called back or were months out… or just never called back.The technicians were extremely professional and finished in no time. They finished ahead of schedule, cleaned up exceptionally well and explained everything.What a pleasure to work with Gen 3! And I got a duck on my outlet!

2021-12-15Just an awesome experience with GEN3. We moved into our 1920s era home in 2020 and have worked with GEN3 to bring it into the 21st century. Aaron and Brandon just finished rewiring our home and remediating the old knob and tube. They were phenomenal! Always friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They paid attention to our requests and made fantastic suggestions. The clean up was thorough. It took over a week to complete this job and they took great care with our home.I would also like to mention Josh who did the initial knob and tube assessment. He spent two hours with me and my husband and is a great educator. He prepared multiple quotes for us while we decided what we wanted and made the renovation much less intimidating.Highly recommend this business. Our home is safer and looks terrific with all the new lighting. I will call GEN3 for all future electric needs.

2022-06-25Jeff was extremely professional with his work. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue with the HVAC system and fix it. He was also very personable and nice to talk to. He explained what he was doing all through the process. In addition to that GEN3 have extremely good customer service and I highly recommend their services.

2022-08-04I had Gen3 out to do routine maintenance on my HVAC system and they recommended follow up work. The tech said he would send a quote, but did not, and it took multiple phone calls to even get the quote. I finally scheduled the follow up, it was cancelled not once but twice (once less than 24 hours before, once about 30 minutes before the arrival window closed) and they refused to send a different tech out. I gave ample opportunity for them to address the issue, they could not be bothered to find a solution. Atrocious experience.

They contacted me to remind me of our appointment contacted me to let me know the technician was on his way, completed the job and billed me right on the spot. 2022-02-07I couldnt recommend this company more. I recently purchased my first home and contacted Gen 3 to corrosion in my HVAC system caused by a leak. Gen 3 was able to set me up with an appointment within the same week I called.My technicians, Joe and Rob, were absolutely phenomenal. They called me ahead of their arrival to let me know that they were coming, and were quickly able find the issue. Joe provided an on the spot invoice that showed me exactly how much each repair would cost and talked me through the work they needed to perform and in terms that were easy for me to understand. Even though the job turned out to be tougher than any of us thought it would be, they remained positive and kept me reassured throughout the process that everything would turn out okay. Joe provided advice on continued maintenance to my system after the job was done. Overall, the service exceeded my expectations.

2021-12-09I had a great experience with Gen3. They were able to send someone the next day to assess an emergency issue and make same-day repairs. We knew the electrical done in the house before we moved in wasn’t done quite as well as it should have been, but it was much worse than expected. With the scope of work now being much more than I originally thought, Gen3 was still able to come the next day and fix everything. It was a lot of work for only two guys to get done in a day, but they did it! The work was done extremely well, and the lead technician, Jordan, was great to work with. He patiently explained all of the issues to us, how they would resolve them, and answered all of our questions. He was just incredibly helpful all around. I also definitely appreciate the great customer service in terms of appointment scheduling and follow up. Highly recommend!
