I was looking for a black owned mover and found George on Google. He came to my house and gave me a quote. I had a large move and his quote (although it was the highest Id gotten) I was sure was thorough since he was the only one that wanted to come see my house. The day of the move, his team arrived EARLY and worked like a well oiled machine!! They broke down furniture, wrapped everything, worked as a team, and was extremely polite and respectful as they worked. The entire move took 12 hours!!! They worked with the same energy the entire time and ended with us being extremely satisfied. They put everything in their proper rooms and after looking at everything there was only one item that was slightly damaged (of which George said he would take care of). In the end, we will be hiring him for a cleanout of the old house. GREAT SERVICE!!!
I had to move my fiancé into a new apartment a month before our wedding just to give some detail of the time crunch and the stress already present. I contacted this company and they helped me tremendously.1. George had a set price that he could’ve quoted me but he came out to the old apartment to give me the most fair price. (Which was more inexpensive and a better value)2. He not only moved my fiancé’s apartment but also helped me to get a fair quote for moving my own personal belongings from storage as well so the movers had 2 locations to move3. They took apart and reassembled our furniture without damaging anything. They were extremely careful and communicated with each other consistently to prevent any mishaps.4. The movers were early/on time and only took breaks between the 3 locations they had to drive to. They worked non stop and fast.5. When they brought the belongings to the new location, they set everything up and followed all directions on where to put items. (The picture is how they set my apartment up aside from some decorations I took out of the boxes just to make it look homey for when my fiancé arrived later)This was a stressful time for us and having a moving company that was professional and accommodating was the type of help we desperately needed. Moving is hard for anyone. Unpacking can seem like a never needing process as well which is why I had them put all the unpacked boxes neatly in our second room so we can unpack when we feel like it without feeling like we’re stepping around boxes constantly. These guys were great and I’d recommend you use them for a fair price and professional job.
I called George to move some furniture for me and his team did a great job. He was responsive and got back to me very quickly. He communicated well and was very honest. I am very happy with the service he performed.

We had an antique armoire and another antique cabinet, which we were passing on to a friend. Our friend obtained the services of Georges Moving. They arrived on time, came up to our condo. unit, wrapped the two pieces with blankets and shrink-wrapped them, and moved them down in the elevator. The crew was efficient, careful, and professional. I was very leery to use Georges moving service. When I called him he had me do a facetime vid of all my furniture. He then gave me a flat price, that honestly I felt he would hit me up for more just like the horror mover stories I hear. I told him my date and the time I needed him and he sent me a contract and said send it back with a 50% deposit, again i was leery but I venmo him the 50% as I need to move. The morning of the move, three of georges movers came right on time, and they couldnt have been nicer or more courteous. The move went perfect and when it was time to pay the balance, it was exactly what I was quoted and not a penny more. George is a real professional and it was a pleasure doing business with him.

I found Georges Moving on Craigslist The professionalism, detail, and photos in their post stood out so I called George. He immediately picked up, answered all my questions, asked me questions to ensure all the details about the move were accurate and that I was fully informed.He confirmed with me a few days before the move, the day before the move, and the morning of the move. The move was scheduled at 9:00am, and they were here at 8:58am. Perfect and as planned.2. Efficient, but not rushed. The move took exactly the projected time of two hours. I appreciated the care the guys took wrapping all my items, wrapping every cushion. Something I wouldnt even do myself. When we got to the storage unit, the loading dock was blocked so we had to wait. The team showed incredible patience, which stood out because I was paying a flat rate.Overall, a great move!

I had the pleasure of Georges Moving Company to assist in my last move. George was very responsive throughout my experience. The movers arrived on time, they were courteous and professional. It was a difficult move because the stairs made moving some of the furniture difficult, but they found a way to get everything down without damaging walls or the furniture itself. Everything was packed very carefully and moved with attention to detail. They even took apart and reassembled a bed without any hesitation. Needed a move last minute, and after a big snow storm and was able to work around the snowy ground, provided the paperwork and went over everything and on move day was there with his team going over everything and carefully wrapping the furniture! I hired this company to do a move for my mom - she had things at both our house in NJ and at a storage unit in PA for a move to NJ. George called me quickly after putting out request to figure out the details and discuss an agreed upon price. George came out and priced the job and gave me an idea of what it would take to get all of my stuff moved, which took so much pressure off of the actual moving day. He also gave a complete pricing with no caveats. I have moved a number of times and this is always such a stressor (checking the clock to see if movers are working and going to be done on time). Within 24 hours of making an inquiry, George came, checked out the place, and gave us a very agreeable quote.A few days later, we realized we also needed some wood and drywall removed that we were unable to get to. George the owner personally came out to check out my apartment to write up an estimate, and instead of charging an hourly rate he gave me a reasonable flat rate which saved me a lot of money, and ensured his movers will take their time padding all of my furniture, and being careful to avoid damage. Other movers I spoke to who charge hourly would have costed at least 50% more based on the amount of time it took to do the move. Very happy with their service and will contact them again my next move.
My move was on 9/23/21 and of course it rained like a fool that day. The sun was out the day before and the sun came back the minute the guys were done!!I will review the entire process and the day...first George (the Owner) was the first to contact me from my request on Thumbtack. I had spoken to 4 movers from other apps, but George was the only one who explained his business practices and costs i.e. fuel and travel time. The prices was fair and I received a flat rate...due to my type of move. George was very clear on his plant and lamp policy...the guys walked my lamps to the new location (I moved buildings same complex) in the rain !! The communication was responsive, even when you are asking questions you forgot (like me). George will contact you via email and text.On to the move...first what type of move - I moved within the same complex to another building, two bedroom apartments (both). The guys arrived as agreed, George did contact me the night before to update the time...which I appreciated and they arrived, in the rain, 10 minutes before arrival time. I had 3 movers, who introduced themselves, and one truck. The young men were polite and professional. My mother is a senior citizen and she had to sit, they were so polite and assured her she wasnt in their way. We did a walk thru to determine what needed to wrapped and box count (which George was right about when he looked at my video lol, he estimated 40 boxes) I said no way...even after giving away and purging...we had that many boxes. So believe the estimate because its amazing how much stuff you can have. The move out went smoothly, the movers wrapped and padded the furniture, bagged the mattresses, shrinkwrapped a couple items. I will say despite the skies opening up during the trunk loading only one box got wet, on a corner, not the entire box. There was no damage the contents were in plastic.Unloading the truck went smoothly, the beds were reassembled and when they ran into an issue with one of the frames...they didnt rush and force it..they took the time to put it back together correctly. They made sure to unload the boxes to the areas I wanted and place the furniture where I wanted. I had two special requests of George that the movers fulfilled without questions.Moving is stressful and frankly painful, but to move in a rain storm is beyond stressful but the 3 movers professional behavior saved the move. I was so shocked we only had one box that was partially wet and when I went to set up my wfh station on Tuesday, I received another reason to use George. My work chair is heavy and I had been putting off flipping it to fix the arm...well it was already done !! I must say that was a nice surprise. Would I recommend Georges Moving and Cleaning - absolutely and whole heartedly.No damages to the furniture, respectful and polite employees and fair pricing.

Hired Georges for a two part move. They unloaded my u-haul into storage and then picked it up from storage and moved it into my house for me a week later. Really happy with the whole move. Rates were reasonable. Crew was prompt. Communication was excellent; emails were almost always returned within an hour. Wouldnt hesitate to hire again.

I just moved from my three-bedroom home to an apartment and hired George’s team. The two gentlemen that showed up Harry and Eric were professional and courteous. They took such great care of all of my furniture and my personal belongings as if they were their own items. They were efficient and friendly and completely respectful. When it was time to move the items into my new property, they asked me where to put everything and made sure to clean up any debris and blankets and ropes that were used to protect my property. I would recommend this company to anybody that is looking for a professional and efficient move. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Excellent job! Moving can be stressful, but Georges Moving Cleaning Company made the process go as smoothly as possible.George was very responsive to my initial inquiry and follow-up questions. He answered all of my questions and let me know what to expect. I appreciate that George gave accurate pricing information. There were no hidden fees.The movers themselves also did an excellent job. They showed up on time, were polite and professional, and worked carefully and efficiently. I moved out of the top floor of a walkup with narrow stairways, so it was a very challenging move. However, the movers were able to maneuver everything out.Overall, the Georges Moving Cleaning Company was a great value - excellent quality at a good price!
Georges Moving has come to my rescue again. After a desperate plea from me lol, I got to book a day that was convenient to me on a short notice and he was kind enough to offer me a discount as a repeat customer. George even had young brothers from the neighborhood earning and learning with him and that is really important in the world that we live.
My parent’s move into my house was hastened by the pandemic, and so I was a bit behind in organizing the house to accept many large furniture items of theirs. I am fairly new to the Philadelphia area too and so didn’t have a lot of information and no referrals. I contacted George on a services App and to my surprise, was able to get same day service. He was able to give me a price estimate by using Facetime and seeing the furniture pieces that needed to be relocated in my house. He and a colleague showed up at my house three hours later. They were entirely professional in organizing the work, which involved disassembling large pieces of furniture and moving them around my three-story house. This work was done efficiently and carefully... I couldn’t have been more pleased. AND, the pricing was very fair... I would have no hesitation recommending George and his team and will use them again... prob soon.
I had a wonderful experience with this company. The mover’s were professional and handled an oversized piece of furniture with ease. They were careful not to scratch my newly finished hardwood floors. They took time to wrap the item which is partially glass careful. The owner, George, checked in during the moving process to ensure everything was going smoothly. I would use them again without question if I ever need to move furniture. I hired Goerges moving company to do a small move job. I was really impressed by the way that they handled moving my sofa set. I did not expect them to get my sofa set out of my house as quick and easy as they did, without having to take my doors off of the hinges. I also liked the fact that they came with three guys so there was plenty of help incase they needed it. The cost for their service was very reasonable as well. I will definitely call Georges again for my moving needs in the future.

I needed a company to pack up my 3 bedroom house with not much notice. George and his team were able to to pack me and worked with me on price (use used boxes which I love for reducing waste and pricing) and were very quick. I will use them again in future and refer them to my friends and family.
After calling around to get several quotes to move me from a 2 Bedroom apartment to a house, I finally found Georges. They came out to my apartment, masked up (covid compliant) to assess the move and gave me the best quote out there. Moving day was seamless, the guys were on time, professional and fast. I called George this morning to see if his company was available to move several items from my deceased parents house which was the china cabinet ,an oriental cabinet and the dining room table and several boxes of china. They were able to accommodate me this afternoon . They were very professional in handling the items and even asked me to double check that I had everything and I am glad the crew asked me that because I was leaving a box of china. These items hold childhood memories for me from over fifty years. I appreciated the care George and his crew took with them. I am a bit late in writing this review. I contacted Georges through thumbtack for a local move. George came to my home, looked at the items and then offered me a flat price which I could not deny. I already had multiple quotes from different movers and even got a few afterwards, but none of them could beat what George had offered. I went ahead with George.On the day of the move, a crew of 3 members came with a truck. They were even 10 minutes early. All the 3 members were very efficient, meticulous and respectful. They packed everything with great care, moved to the new home and unloaded. They reassembled all the furniture, placed them wherever we wanted. My computer bench was not in a very good shape and I was not sure that we will be able to put it back once we disassemble it. But they paid extra care to that piece and my computer bench is still standing intact in my new home.I had moved in the past and I must say that this was a very smooth move. No hidden fee and one of the best services. In fact I got more than what I was offered !I wish George Callicut and his team all the very best !Alok

I hired Georges Moving Co for a nearly impossible job - moving a heavy treadmill from garage to basement. It was a very tight fit given the dimensions of the doorways and steps, and I wasnt sure it could be done. George and his crew figured it out, and were cheerful and friendly despite the difficulty. We did not even have to dissamble it, so we could use the treadmill immediately. Stress-free for me. I hired the right company for sure.

I booked them on a Saturday (7/11/20) and they were there the next morning. I needed a queen size mattress moved from my downstairs to my upstairs and they did a quick and great job. George made the impossible ... possible. I needed a monstrous sofa to be taken out of a small width door space of an apartment. He and his team miraculously did it with no damage to the sofa nor the property. He took his time and was patient to carefully remove the door and replace it back. 2021-11-27I found a vintage curio cabinet from an estate sale that I needed moved to my home from the seller’s residence. The curio is all glass with only brass framing. It stands 7 feet tall and 3 feet wide. On a whim, I bought the curio with the assumption that a mover I’ve used many times in the past would be able to move it for me. Once I showed the previous mover photos, they declined due to the high value of the curio and the insurance liability. I was then on the hunt to find a new mover who could handle the task. I searched and called Georges Moving after checking their reviews. They were highly rated so I decided to give them a try. The owner, George, answered right away. We spoke in great length about the scope of the job, the timeline in which it needed to be completed and some of my concerns. My main concerns were not causing damage to the curio, not causing damage to the home it was leaving and not causing any damage to my home. He explained some of the risks but was confident that his crew could handle the job, which in turn made me feel more at ease. The day of the move, George actually came to the site to ensure the curio was properly protected. They were prompt and the crew was friendly. I have to admit, I was nervous the entire time just because it’s in my nature. Once it was securely wrapped with multiple layers of protection, my anxiety decreased. It was heavy! And to be honest, I do feel like the crew needed George there as an extra set of hands to do spotting because of the complexity of carrying down stairs and loading it. When they arrived at my home, they moved quickly to unload off the truck and to get it in the house. Again not easy and it took some logistics to determine how to get the curio in place. They even helped me add new felt cushions to the feet of so it can move easily in the future. My experience with George’s Moving was excellent and I would highly recommend them for all of your moving needs.

2021-10-03I was referred to Georges moving company from a family member. George was by the far best price (I love that he offers flat rates) & the most responsive. All of my emails were answered within the hour. He even came out to give me a quote for my move because my photos were alittle shotty. He texted me the morning of to give me an ETA for his team. They were alittle late but his team called me with updates so that was fine. I honestly thought it would be an all day project, but his team was super efficient. Moving me in under 3 hours & they were really nice. I will definitely be using them again.

2022-06-26A friend recommended Georges moving to me. I spoke to George and sent him pictures of the furniture I wanted moved. He gave me two quotes. One for me disassembling some of my furniture and one for his crew to do it. I opted to disassemble myself as it was far cheaper. His employees showed up when they said they would and got right to work. Really nice guys who did a great job on a very hot day. They loaded up in a couple hours and unloaded into my house in a couple more hours. Really great experience. Would definitely use them again.

2022-03-28George was very friendly and the most reasonable person I contacted. The services he gave were more than the amount he charged. George charges you by personally doing a tour to understand the furniture you have and what all services you need. While most others I cam across just kept giving a random no based on my description.The team was very nice and friendly. Bill, Lee & Walter were a great help. I did add up a couple of extra items last minute but they happily took care of it as well. No questions asked.Very Happy I chose George and his team. They made my move so stress-free. 2022-04-30Always a reliable and friendly team! I initially reached out to George out of an urgency (my scheduled mover and his team tested positive for covid 2 days before the move and I frantically looked for a new moving team). Had a great experience the first time April 2021, the team disassembled and assembled and made sure everything was completely done to satisfaction before they left.For my second move April 2022, I called George again! And even better if an experience, the guys were so fast, organized, and communication was on point. They know how to problem solve during situations, wrapped all my furniture in wraps and blankets and delivered. They took most of the bedroom furniture all the way 2 flights of stairs and did not once fret or sigh. Always positive and goal oriented, looking forward to working with him on other projects including painting and stair work.

2022-07-07George’s crew is the best. We had another moving company fall through two days before our big move, and we had to scramble to find a new moving company. George came through last minute and totally packed and moved our 5 story south Philly town home in 2 days. The whole team is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Not a single item was broken, lost, or damaged in any way. I would completely recommend this company to anyone!
