I wouldn’t usually complain about a place but I do not trust these people. I brought a sick cat in for treatment and they kept her overnight. When I called the next day, the lady asked me to come pick her up at noon. I arrived a few minutes early and another worker yelled at me claiming that they were closed. She slammed the door on me. She came back with my cat as well as her purse. She told me that the vet was already gone but I had questions about treatment. When we brought my cat home, she was more sick than before. I called this vet for help but no answer. We ended up going to another vet for emergency treatment. They had her healthy by the next morning. Don’t go here. Don’t trust them with your pets.
I came to Glencroft because my pup needed her shots and it was impossible to get into the Vet I was going to. Thankfully, Glencroft has appointments which my Vet did not. Everyone was so nice there. The doctor was so informative and answered all of my questions. I will be continuing to come here from now on.
I work in the fundraising office of a local animal shelter. Yesterday, a female veterinarian from Glencroft called my extension. She angrily began rattling off the name and ID numbers of cat that she had seen that she said was adopted from us. After a brief pause, I asked her what exactly she was calling about. She began to insist that we adopted out a two month old kitten named Smoke and had vaccinated it far too early as they should not receive the rabies vaccine until three months. She insisted that on the paperwork we provided, the cat was born in April and vaccinated in June. She continued to raise her voice as she went on a rant about how our veterinarians on staff must be incompetent.Confusingly, a moment later, she said the kitten was not harmed because it was actually clearly older than two months. By her own admission there was no actual issue with vaccinating this kitten. When I tried finding the animal using the name (Smoke) that she provided in our database, the only cat named Smoke that I could find that we had adopted out was born in 2018.The entire interaction was bizarre and exceedingly confrontational for no apparent reason. I was unclear when she felt that the fundraising office was the place to air her alleged grievance. It was weird that she seemed to want to chew somebody out for vaccinating a cat too early, even though by her own admission it was not at all too early. She quite possibly had called the wrong organization entirely.I did not catch the name of the veterinarian, as she started the conversation angrily chastising me so quickly that it was impossible to keep up. However, I am blown away by how incredibly unprofessional and rude she was for no clear reason. She decided to call a shelter that has been taking in hundreds of stray and abused kittens and yell at us because she felt the birthday was wrong.I have not been to Glencroft Veterinary Hospital, but based on this single interaction I will never even consider it, and I will surely tell any of our clients to avoid it as well.
I bring both my cats and my puppy here. Staff has always been pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. I never have to wait long to get any of my furry family members in. The only reason I give a 4 instead of a 5 is the parking.Parking is HORRENDOUS. Its all off street parking, but to find something open you need to consider yourself lucky. The vet is right off chester pike in between a car mechanic and a pizza shop so the only few spots avail stay full.
The online appointment process was easy and user friendly. Were VERY new to the area and were quite excited to get in as quickly as we did on short notice on a weekend. Staff and vets were very friendly, very kind and gentle with my big kitty and sent him home with medication for his eye. Pricing is comparable to other vets, and quite fair for the services offered. Very happy overall with the experience.
We first met Dr. Russell over 25 years ago. In those years we have had 5 dogs and 1 cat. All who have been treated by the wonderful doctors and staff at Glencroft. Through the excitement of puppies and the pain of saying goodbye to loving pets the entire staff has always been kind and supportive. We would not take our pets any where else!
We started using GlenCroft when my daughter started working there as a kennel person. We still take our pets there even though my daughter is grown up and has pets of her own. The medical staff is very knowledgable and caring. They have saved my dogs life a couple of times. The prices are the most reasonable in the area. I feel comfortable boarding my pets there when I go away.I feel comfortable with every aspect of this business and recommend them to anyone with pet needs.
Used to take all of my dogs here to get their nails cut. They never asked me for rabies vaccinations until today when my current dog has a exemption for rabies due to a health condition and she is allowed to get her nails cut with an exemption. Its fine because a lovely woman at a pet store helped me out and I can cut her nails myself now. Learn how to do it yourself its cheaper and a lot easier than coming here where they forget to do a foot
My husband has been taking his pets here for years, and weve been taking our 2 cats and recently deceased puppy since moving back to the area. Its quick to get an appointment, and they always make the animals feel so loved! Would absolutely (and have) referred friends and family here!
We have been using Glencroft Veterinary Hospital for 20 years and have found them to always be kind, caring and just wonderful with our pets. Very knowledgeable, always take the time to talk to us about what is going on with our pets. Have recommended them numerous times to friends.
Staff is very caring. However, we spent more time waiting to be seen and then waiting for the meds and getting checked out than was reasonable.Less than 10 minutes with the vet-more than 40 minutes getting processed out. They have excellent pet care but need to speed up the check out process
This place is like a Dr. in the country, they know their pet client well and the pet parent. They do not run an assembly line. you quickly feel right home comfortable with them handling your best friend. My Dog was sick for three weeks when i told him he was going to see a Dr., he was excited and ran to the door of my home to get in the car. when we got there there was a very, very, LARGE dog! Sitting in the office. my dog weight is 10 lbs this dog was 100 lbs plus. We checked in i had my dog in a tiny crate and I was not going to let him out, out fear. But the receptionist lead us to another room to wait for the Dr.Out of my 8 years of being a pet parent I never had this happen before at any vet, boy was I grateful and so was Storm my 10 lbs Yorkie. You see most large dog thinks that these toy dogs are play thing for them to shake because their toys are the same size as toy dogs.
The Doctors have many yrs of experience and really know what they are doing. The grooming services are always fabulous. They know exactly what I want my dog to look like when he comes out. We had a Wheaten Terrier and we always want him to have that Terrier cut with the long beard. I have no complaints at all. Now we have a new Airdale Terrier Puppy and he goes to Glencroft too! The 2nd day we brought him home we took him right over there. They made sure he was a healthy dog, and told us what to expect with this breed.
I bring both my babies to Glencroft Veterinary Hospital and I have really appreciated the care theyve given them. When our old cat was dying, they were supportive and very competent. When we lost her, we soon filled the void with a kitten, who was spayed here and Dr. Barrett did a great job. When our dog developed hip dysplasia, Dr. Russell treated him so that he has been able to walk again. The front staff are sweet and caring also. This is definitely a neighborhood gem!
Excellence,Care and Compassion!! My dog is a really special member of my family. The staff and vets at GlenCroft Veterinary Hospital are very kind caring providing support and education in every visit. The only challenge is parking space, but in general this is a great top health care facility that provides convenient and affordable quality services.
I was very concerned about my cat Gracie She seemed to be in a lot of pain and was not moving eating or drinking . I was so thankful to get her in there within 2 hours. She is not a very nice cat and does not like people or other animals She really gave the vet a hard time But they could not find anything wrong with her. Since my daughter and grandson were visiting from Arkansas that week I realized that once they left for home Gracie was back to completely normal. She was acting sick just to get rid of our company. But I still am appreciative that you agreed to see her so quickly I was upset at the thought of her being ill Thank you
The people there really care about your pets. I have been taking care of my dogs there for over 20 years and at all time they have been both professional and caring. They go out of their way to keep you informed and when needed give you options and their honest opinion on medical procedures. Right before we lost our 5 year old Shih Tzu to cancer the doctor was on the phone with me from her home at 11 PM on a Saturday Night researching options to try and save her. I have also used their grooming services and when i use their boarding services I know I can go away with the peace of mind knowing my pets are well looked after.
I had an emergency with my puppy over the weekend and my regular vet office was not available to see him. Glencroft let us bring him right over and helped put our fears to rest. The staff was courteous and kind. We will be using them in the future for all of our pets care.
My wife and I have been with Glencroft Vets for many, many years. Dr. Russell is a top notch vet, and when he is out teaching, the other vets he has are very good and kind. We are very comfortable taking our babies to them. We have even taken our turtles and birds there. They all receive the best care possible.
The staff is extremely helpful and kind. They cared for our 4 month old Cocker Spaniel. Although, I went in with the intention of treating an ear infection and received recommendations on treating multiple unknown other problems. The service provided by the assistant and administrative staff filled in the cost I was unexpected to pay. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
I have been going to this vet for 30 years. The vets and techs care very much about your pets, and give you honest advice. On our last visit, the vet sat on the floor, giving my dog lots of love and attention while she examined him. It doesnt get much better that this!
I would highly recommend this place to anybody for all care for your pets. The staff is very pleasant and patient among other things. They put my mind at ease and gave my cat Bella the proper care she needed when she was bit by a dog and broke a lot of bones. Although it was very expensive it was by far less expensive then other places. Before I came to glencroft I was at keystone er vet and was quoted $1400 just for X-rays and medication. Bella has had her surgery a few days stay and a few return visits and it was still less than just the X-rays at the other place. I was very pleased with the care me and my cat got.
Two weeks before Christmas, my 16 year old cat had a stroke and was dying. They billed for seizure medicine that would do nothing since it was a stroke, 3 x-rays that showed nothing because there were no broken bones, offered to keep him for another 2 days for observation while continuing to give unnecessary seizure medicine for only another $500, and the real cherry on top was theyd already charged me for euthanasia before even talking to me about it. They took all of my familys money for Christmas, tried to double the unnecessarily, and were still going to kill my cat in the end. I wouldnt take a rabid raccoon to them.Id rate zero stars if possible.
I was recommended to this veterinary hospital by a friend. The staff isnt the most friendly and I didnt feel some of the younger workers were exactly comfortable with what they were doing. The environment of the hospital is decent, cleanliness being ok but not very warm and inviting. However, this place sufficed because we were only going to get our bunnys nails cut every so often. When having a consultation with the Doctor concerning the gender of our bunny and if we should get him/her spayed/neutered for health reasons, the doctor was unable to give me a definite answer on the gender, assuming it was a boy and proceeded to make me feel discouraged from consenting to sugery bc of complications rabbits experience under anastiesha due to lack of knowledge pertaining to the anatomy of a bun. He didnt even come in with professional attire on and I didnt sense a very loving connection between him and our bunny, which I think she sensed too. After much research and going with my gut instinct, I decided to find a better vet for my bun. I came to find out that my bunny was a female and that spaying is not an issue as long as you are working with a vet that has successful experiences with bunny surgeries. Had I kept believing my pet was a male, I wouldnt of gotten her spayed which would have probably caused our baby health issues down the line at an early age .
The best veterinary hospital I found..The doctor saved my dog that once needed surgary for closed ear canals...since I been taking him here the doctor treated his ears with medince once a month and his ears are perfect now the canals are open now...i would give 10 stars if I could
I trust Glencroft Veterinary Hospital with my kids lives and their grooming. The staff is like family. They have been there for me with the deaths of my beloved Dog Simba and Cat Michelle. Helping me through the entire process.I now have my Chelsea (Lapsa Apsa), Quincie (Shepard) and New addition George, ( Med Main Coon)to the Goar home. GREAT JOB!!!!!!
They used to be the best vets around. Now all they do is try to suck money out of you at every chance. Example 1) They would not put my extremely sick daschund to sleep when I asked, so for 3 more months, I kept this poor dog alive, with incredibly bad directions on how to treat his diabetes. He was 13 years old, totally blind, and was having dementia. Thank you Glencroft Vets, how much did you make on this at the expense of the dog and his owner? Example 2) At the last visit for general shots, I explicitly requested only the distemper because the rabies was up to date. In the exam, I catch them giving the bordetella vaccine to my dog, I asked them what they were doing and first, they said that they thought it was discussed with me up front, I said no, that I had been quite clear that I only wanted the distemper, then they said that they did it because I had given before so they thought that I wanted it now. Yes, about 4 or 5 years earlier I had gotten the bordetella vaccine because I was traveling by car and wanted to make sure that at the car rest stops they would not pick it up. Cha--ching, again. When you ask for an individual price of a service, you cant get it broken out. Every quote for a service has extras thrown in for good measure. Good bye, Im done. Buyer (dog/cat owner) BEWARE!
My elderly mother took her 20 year old cat to Glencroft due to it having trouble walking. The women was pressuring her into spending $1700 on some laser treatments on the cat. Xrays were taken and it was determined the cat had arthritis. My mother recently lost my father and is on a fixed income. For the women to try to talk her into these treatments and then pressuring her into applying for a care credit card to have the treatment done is ridiculous. She made comments to my mother such as well, would you want to be in that much pain all the time or how can you not do the treatments. My mother has not stopped talking about the way they treated her and how guilty she feels. She has had this cat for 20 years and would do anything to help it but not at the expensive of her not having a roof over her head. Next time you try to pressure or guilt someone into spending $1700 on a 20 year old cat, think about the situation the person may be in and common sense. the cat is 20 years old!. Hopefully she will seek services elsewhere where she doesnt have to be quilted, pressured or talked to like that into spending $1700 on laser treatments for a 20 year old cat.
I am a feline, and had a problem about 5 yrs old. But thanks to the care I recieved at Glencroft, happy to report we are now just over 17yrs, pretty good for a feline . When it matters, this is the place your human’s looking for. Dont settle for anything else. Best care during and after. Highest recomendationLittle MoCat
I live across the street from this place, and I have 4 cats, well I had 4cats. I ran across the street for help with my cat she was struggling to breathe and having seizures and it was 4 p.m. I was turned down for help told there was no doctors available! My poor cat died on the way to the next veterinarian hospital struggling having a seizure while she took her last breath! 😿
Called told them exactly what was wrong with the cat they said bring him over all he needed was a shot when we got there they charged me $70 to tell me the medicine was expired and Id have to order it online how ridiculous is that they knew the medicine was expired before I went in but still charged me $70 for an office visit never again while I go there or recommend them to anyone.
Dr. Russell deserves no stars. He should be ashamed of himself they way he practices vet medicine!! I took my dog to his practice because he was very, very sick. I was told by Dr. Russell that his labs were normal and a week later he called to tell me that the dog had lymphoma. A vet of at least 30 years in practice couldnt tell that the dog was terminally ill by exam under anesthesia???? and then he proceeded to give this dog 4 vaccines (for which he did not have my permission) and the dog was dead in less than a week. He did not get back to me in the promised time. He would not prescribe my dog a steroid for comfort as he was already having trouble breathing and brushed us off and said we need to go to see an oncologist, but we could not get an appointment until August.Dr. Russell did not care about my dog at all. Everything he did was to jack up the bill. He only cares about $$$$$$$!!!! I called the emergency number 5 times because the dog was dying in front of my eyes and no one answered the phone. Dr. Russell never called to see how my dog was doing, which shows that he TRULY really does not care.Dr. Russell is a fraud!!! He is not a vet, he is a thief!!!! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOU PET TO THIS OFFICE. I am not bitter or angry that my dog died because no one could have helped him with the advanced cancer that he had; however, i am in total bewilderment and disbelief that a trusted member of the community would actually treat kind, loving animal owners in such a poor manner. Maybe Dr. Russell would have treated me a little better had he known i work in healthcare in ONCOLOGY and see lymphoma patients all day, every day. The care was so despicable that I am thinking about consulting an attorney.

2022-05-05The staff is always very polite. Ive been here three times now and they are very loving to all the animals. They know my puppy by name. They are very patient and answer all questions you have. The prices are reasonable, especially if you compare them to other vet hospitals or clinics.

2018-04-10The Veterinarians and staff at Glencroft Veterinary Hospital are caring and respectful of all of my animals as well as myself and family. You can tell that they really love animals and know how to treat them with gentleness and respect. I have five pets, two cats, two dogs and a rabbit. I have been to other good veterinary hospitals and I would not go anywhere else.

2020-04-30Glencroft Vet. Service is extremely good with my two small breed dogs. They have cared for my last 5 dogs and have taken very good care of them. My boy is a yapper and quite a baby when it comes to shots and nail clipping - they really do take good care of him-and tolerate a lot! My little girl is normally calm, cool, and collected! Shes easy to care for. The girls in the office are very good at what they do and kind to both my babies!

2021-04-03Ive only been once but was very impressed with the practice. The veterinarian I met with (whose name I unfortunately did not get) was really great. She took her time with my dog and was super sweet to her. I did not feel pressured to add any additional potential unnecessary products or services and felt my visit was a great value for the service. I will be back for my dogs annual in a few months. Thank you!

2021-04-08I had the most wonderful experience here. They always took great care of my dog. My pet was in distress an I had to make a decision whether to put him down. They were so understanding and so caring to me and my pet. Everything was explained to me and they let me really take my time to make my decision. I cant thank them enough for the attention and care for me and my precious Teddy.
