Greyhound in Philadelphia
Greyhound in other cities:
This bus station is diplorable1 .the restaurant snacks station service is disrespectful they burnt my pretzel ( a third of it was hard /uneatable,when I went to order another coffee I inquired if I can get a discount on the coffee to supplement they were not accommodating at all when I got annoyed they refused to serve me.2 the bathrooms are unsanitary only one dispenser has hand soap will be alerting the Philadelphia Board of health ,& department of transportation
Greyhound is nothing but bunch of unprofessional people with poor customer service. Imagine Greyhound selling express tickets on their website at the end they are not providing the express service to their customers. It’s very much sad for such company to still be operating without any action taken by the authorities responsible. I can never anyone to ride Greyhound bus due to poor service provided me on April 5, 2021.
Today was my first bus trip with Greyhound. The bus departed an hour late. Greyhound did not give passengers a timely update on the status of our departure until it was already delayed by 30+ mins. When we finally boarded the bus, it was very dirty. There were food wrappers on my seat and on the floor below my seat. There was also liquid & cheese on the floor as well as used plastic eating utensils. Tissues were stuffed into the air vent above my head. I had to hold my bag on my lap because I didn’t want it on the wet dirty floor. I have had much better trips with other companies. I will not be using Greyhound again.
If I could give this zero stars I would. One time my bus was delayed literally 5 1/2 hours just because they over scheduled a driver. Now my bus has been delayed an hour. The bus is here and we’re still delayed an hour! This is so ridiculous. I’ve never had a smooth ride on greyhound. Highly recommend you take any other option. ONLY USE IF THIS IS YOUR LAST RESORT.
This bus station NEVER has a correct time schedule, does not care to leave passengers stranded for hours or even over night without answers or any kind of help to get to their destination, and has rude staff who do not help with refunds or getting passengers where they need to be. My advice AVOID THIS STATION AT ALL COSTS.
The Security Guard was very rude for know reasonIts 6:00 AM and Im waiting to catch a NJ transit bus that sits inside there garage and I walk to a door that was locked to use the bathroom. Security said Your just getting off the NJ transit you cant come in here unless you have a greyhound bus ticket and slammed the door in my face.
I had an awful experience with greyhound. I scheduled a ride at 1045 am. An emergency came up and I contacted greyhound three hours prior to departure to see if I could get a refund or reschedule. The person I talked to said I couldnt get a refund, but as long as I call back at some point that same day, I could reschedule. Later that day, after the emergency was taken care of, I called to reschedule. I got a different person on the phone and she told me that I had to be at greyhound two hours prior to departure in order to reschedule. One employee told me one thing and another told me something completely different. The supervisor treated me as if it was my fault even though his employees gave different/false information. Absolutely no care for the fact that another employee told me differently. Do not use greyhound, they have no care in the world for their customers or lifes circumstances.
Greyhound deserves zero stars and I will never use their bus again. I used their services when I was attending my grandmothers funeral. My luggage was no were to be found when I arrived at my destination. The customer service was horrible and not helpful at all. Two weeks later, my luggage was recovered and several items had been stolen. The lock on my luggage had also been broken. I suspect one of the employee from this location stole from my luggage. The workers at this greyhound location are incompetent and unethical. Avoid greyhound if you can.
Terribly customer service my driver took his sweet time driving which caused me to miss my last bus after riding for 20 hours. The lady at the service desk had the worst possible attitude to me nd another customer and also gave me the wrong boarding time for my next bus which caused me to miss it again Due to it not being announced on the load speaker. I also asked each bus driver their location and departure time as each one pulled up got more attitude and wrong departure time after speaking with the manager I was told there was absolutely nothing that could be done about it after I was just inconvenienced by their staff so I was told that I would have no choice but to sit and wait a whole 2 12 hours added to the three hours I already sat and waited for a bus that already left terrible service after spending nearly $200 one way for my Trip.
Im not much of a traveler and first time taking Greyhound bus. It was a trip from Philadelphia to New York back in May 18th 2017. It was an ugly experience never happen to me in my life. First I ask a lady at the wicket how to purchase a bus ticket. She told me go to the machine and which I did. But the machine didnt work. I went back to tell her that the machine didnt work, she looked at me like Im stupid. She went to check the machine herself and found out that I was right. She went to the counter printed me the tickets.I ask her where Im I suppose to wait for the bus. She told me sit down and thats the only words she said.I checked the tickets, the name and the number of tickets were not correct.I went back to ask her again to see anything need to be corrected before the bus arrives. She yelled at me and told me to sit down again. She said that I asked her too many questions and her co-work as well told me Dont bother her. Both had no manors and respect what so ever.Look people. You are being hired to take care of customers and if you dont like the job, then quit.Companies failed because they hired too many this like this ones.Greyhound should fire these people if they want to stay alive in the market place. Will never take Greyhound bus again. One more thing. The station was dirty and the washrooms were badly smell.
The bus experience was great. It was my first time riding a greyhound and I had no clue about when to aboard or the entire experience of the greyhound. I never rode a public bus so everything was new.I asked for helped and the lady gave me a complete attitude and made me feel stupid. She was telling me to listen with an attitude, as if I wasnt listening in the first place. It was as if Im not worth anything to be helped with.I gave this a one star because it seems they would hire anyone. And people like this should not be hired. Idk why someone would hire someone like her. No wonder this has bad reviews. Dont waste your time asking for anything here.
A very bad company.please dont use this service or if you decide to use it be very careful as these are not helpful or courteous people.their busses are late by atleast an hour generally.that also was fine fine but what happened today crossed all limits. It felt like a scam, they didnt even refund the money.so heres the story:i needed to go from philadelphia to dc by 4.30pm and hence had gone to 1001 filbert st greyhound station to buy the 1.05 pm bus ticket. At first they said that the bus was sold out, then they said there were 3 seats available; i bought the ticket( 4 section; two ft long ticket). after reaching the boarding dock the bus driver said this ticket is for 3pm bus and to talk with the ticket seller to get it changed. i had bought the ticket with an understanding that they would provide me the ticket for 1 pm bus. they refused to accept their mistake and said theres nothing they can do. the ticket seller then said to talk with bus driver again, i went. Aguy blocked me, when i said that i needed to talk with the driver, he replied No you dont. he further told me that i should have checked my ticket. (usually a person would but with greyhounds 2 ft long ticket and redundant information no one would actually do it. seems like something done purposefully.) even he said nothing can be done. they told me to call the customer care but same story was repeated and customer care said that i needed to talk with the filbert station staff and my ticket was non-refundable( mean sounding person on the phone). basically they did not acknowledge the mistake/ miscommunication and didnt even show the courtesy to refund the money if the ticket was not being used.So once again, please dont use this service or if you decide to use it be very careful as these are not helpful or courteous people.
If I could give it zero stars and have it be a valid review I would. If you can avoid Greyhound, at least here, Do so. Dont book tickets with Greyhound here. Do any other company, not this one. As of writing and editing this review on August 17th, I have been waiting for over 4 hours and my bus is no where to be found. The staff has no idea where it is and what they are doing and they all should likely be fired to clean house. As of finishing this review I should be only thirty minutes away from my final destination but instead I am sitting in a poorly maintained bus stop of a company I will never use again.
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Greyhound has lost my luggage for 4 months now. Every time I call the baggage claim department, they give me the same run around. I’m not too pleased with greyhound at this point. You’re better off walking or spending the extra money for gas in a vehicle. I recommend no one travel with this horrific company.
I was positively surprised by the service. I’ve heard so many bad things that I wasn’t sure if booking a ticket is a good idea. The station is good und the drive to Boston was good as well. The internet didn’t work, but I didn’t need it. The seats were comfortable, the driver was nice and we arrived on time.
Do not ride or give service to Greyhound Bus if you want decent customer service and a hassle free trip without confusion, frustration, and communication issues. Heres why: My boyfriend and I took a trip from New York to Allentown, Pennsylvania. We had a connecting bus from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Allentown, Pennsylvania. Now, lets start from where 3 days prior to our trip we wanted to print our tickets to have everything ready to go ahead of time. I have an account with Greyhound and the link from my confirmation email to do so. Should be easy right? WRONG. The link would not allow me to print the tickets for whatever reason. I tried numerous times and even went into my account to find my trip and print them that way. No cigar. The only thing left to do was to call them and see whats up. Long story short on the phone call situation, we got the run around about there being an IT issue and was told several times a day up until the night before that they would send the PDF for our tickets in 10 minutes. Ultimately we did not get out tickets until the night before our trip. Fine. We eventually got the tickets. Not so bad right? When we took our first bus from New York to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania we arrived there at 12:30. As per what was on our tickets. As our connecting bus to Allentown was at that same time, we were confident wed make it because it was in the same area and wed literally be getting off one bus and straight onto another. When we arrived we didnt see our bus. We immediately went to the help desk and was told the bus had left at 12:15. FIFTEEN MINUTES EARLIER than what was on our tickets. And let me emphasize the fact that they never sent us our tickets until the night before, no one said anything about a change in time for our connecting bus the numerous times we called, nor through email, OR my Grehound account. So we missed our bus because of this companys negligence and horrible customer service. And in order not to miss our hotels check-in time, we had to pay a $96.25 Uber to our destination. The very next day we arrived, we called the company and again was given the run around about a refund for the connecting bus we missed and the Uber charge we had to pay to reach our destination. We did not ask for anything more than what we deserved as compensation, and even then we were on the phone for an hour just for them to tell us we can only get a $40 a refund for both tickets (which isnt even the full price of one of the tickets) in 7-14 days and none for the Uber. Yet they were able to raise the reimbursement money from $15 to $20 when we asked for a supervisor. And there is no email for confirmation about our case file for the reimbursement.Needless to say we will not be traveling by Greyhound Bus ever again. And we will be back on the phone, continuously calling, until this issue is resolved. Please save yourself the headache and choose an alternative mode of transportation.
I wish I could give them 0 stars. this company has the WORST customer service i have ever seen in my life. a bus hit my car and they will not accept any of my insurance companies calls. management said they would call us in two weeks its been two months. i am so displeased with this company.
I’m currently here sitting in this filthy bus station, and waiting for the second time for a delayed bus. Every time I take a bus out of here there is an issue and they do not offer any sort of explanation or apology. They don’t offer a refund or compensation for your time lost and the delay causes a ripple effect that forces the next couple of bus trips to have to get pushed back to allow the delayed passengers first come access. When you ask for a reason they state that it’s because they don’t have a driver or bus. Maybe you should stop planning so many trips if you don’t have the staff or resources. It’s inconsiderate!!!!! This is my last time riding out of this station and possibly using greyhound.... and a roach or something just rolled pass me!!!!!!!!! Nope never again
Yesterday,my bus was scheduled to leave at 4pm.So they had us lined up waiting to be board. Well it seems the passengers and myself ending up standing in line a whole hour, then 5pm comes and we finally get boarded. Then we pull out of the station, then it seems we were riding around in circles trying to leave Philadelphia that took a whole hour just to get to the freeway,I believe the bus driver was lost. This bus was so late that some passengers miss their connecting bus when we arrived in Scranton at 9:41pm. This was the worst trip I ever experienced on Greyhound!
If anything, this terminal deserves zero stars. Buses are always late and service is so mismanaged that good luck getting an answer out of anybody regarding times or other options, assuming you can chase one down because theyll straight up ignore you unless youre obnoxious enough to get their attention. Staff is so rude and unhelpful. They either dont know or give you the run around but youll definitely get a rude attitude from them because God forbid that they actually do their job.
Just spent several hours in the Trailways bus station in Philadelphia. The staff was so helpful to everyone! Patricia who was calling out the next bus, and having them line up, spoke clearly and kindly, and made sure people were getting on the right bus. A woman moving cargo from one bus to another was polite and efficient as she wove carefully between many people. Being polite and not appearing irritated. When someone getting off a bus looked confused as to where to go next someone wearing their uniform and name tag would ask if they needed help. Because I was there for several hours I had plenty of time to observe that this was the hallmark of the employees there, well done to this company, service truly is your middle name!
Station just for quick docking to your bus. Passengers had a bitter experience of late buses by approx. 4-5 hrs. Fortunately my bus was exact on time but they might board passengers for early waiting buses when your bus arrives, in cases of the same destination. So try to be in time to avoid major delays.
They Put a college girl in a very bad situation and refuse to make it right. They told my daughter that the bus was running late at the station. Turns out it wasn’t. She missed the bus and it put her in a very bad situation. They refuse to make it right. No one on the phone speaks proper English. You better believe that if something happened to may daughter there would be legal action but guess what?! GRETHOUND DOESNT CARE BECAUSE THEY ARE RUN BY PEOPLE WHO DON’T CARE! This will spread around the college don’t worry greyhound. I have also put a word in with the college to urge students to find better transportation.
I got to the bus station early to buy my ticket and the lady behind the counter was going to slow that I missed my bus. She was not helpful at all. I was basically scolded for not notifying the bus ticket lady to hold my bus. Which I tried to get her attention but she was across the room and I didnt want to leave the line and lose my spot to go talk to her. Plus I didnt know I could shout across the room to get her attention. You would think that the lady behind the counter should be able to communicate with the ticket lady but no you have to do everything yourself. Very bad customer service . Just buy your ticket online so you dont have to deal with these people.
So this place is mediocre. The lobby is usually full of pigeons during the day. The bathrooms don’t even fix the problem. The bathrooms are unsanitary and are really dirty. The only old thing about this place is the ticketing service and the boarding service. Also, the food service is pretty good too.
I have a monthly pass ro board the NJ Transit bus from this terminal and at times SECURITY or the Greyhound workers tell me if I dont have a Greyhound ticket I have to wait outside in the elements til my bus arrives. I am up in age and have a bladder problem and need to use the bathroom. Well I am forced to hold myself until the bus arrives in Atlantic City my end destination. This is a public place shared us to bus companies who serve the riding public. My ticket cost me $310 a month and I do not think I should be treated this way
The terminal is fine but our bus was delayed by more than an hour to NYC. That upset our schedule for the day a bit and that was unsettling. The good thing in the bus is wifi. It works intermittently but one can manage. While going the bus was nice and everything but on the return from NYC the loo was very dirty and disgusting.
If you like homeless people pestering you for your hard earned cash, Have literal pigeons fly/poop everywhere, sit in chairs that are not clean, ridiculous bus delays that go from 1 - 3 hours and have your money taken from this greedy company since no refunds are offered. this is the right place for you! Seriously, I came to this station to go to Atlantic city to go to a convention not too long ago and I was there EARLY. this was before I ignored the google reviews ( like the ones you see here below. ) I already bought my ticket like a idiot and decided to see if greyhound would actually do good. They didnt. I had a 2 hour DELAY and I had a hour before the convention started. So I decided to take a Uber instead. pretty expensive but Id rather do that then wait 2 hours for a bus that would probably never show up anyways. Your better off taking other bus services or uber. Dont bother, I live in this city, So Believe me. Btw, This place had a 3.5 rating here before I showed up there. its now 2.7 as of today and will get lower. Save your money people. thanks for reading.
Very Unprofessional, Rude and nasty. I havent been on Greyhound since being a child and Im 43 now. One lady said if your not going be yo ng Richmond, VA you can paper tags. Well I went to board and guy said I need a printed tag and I said OK. So I went to counter and female employee working desk, said what do u need. I said a printed tag and she said well u need to listen when they tell u. In said well the lady said and she wanted to argue with me about no she didnt, real ghetto. So another passenger told me that I had to put my bag on scale. People dont ride Greyboind all the time and so a little professionalism would go a long way. It made me not want to ride Greyhound anymore. The gentleman putting the bags on was a little standoffish but he did help me put tag on my luggage.
Three stars because the bus ride went well and the driver seemed like a nice guy. No problems with the bus ride. This was my first time riding a Greyhound bus or dealing with Greyhound staff/employees. Arrived at the terminal in Philly, and there were five or six buses parked there. Already had our tickets bought and printed a week in advance. Two Greyhound employees were standing there talking- not using exactly professional language for being on the job around customers, but whatever. When I walked up to them and said excuse me so I could ask which bus went to Allentown, they acted like I had done them the biggest inconvenience theyd ever had in their lives, and the guy proceeded to just about yell at me to go inside and ask someone in there. I ended up asking another passenger which bus was the Allentown bus, and luckily the guy was riding the same bus as I was. All in all, bus ride was smooth, but the staff seem pretty rude.
I purchased a round-trip will-call ticket from Ithaca, NY to Philadelphia and back. For some reason, the Ithaca cashier did not give me the return trip ticket. At the Philly station, I talked to 5 different people, including two supervisors and they all told me I would have to buy a new ticket. Without the physical ticket, they showed no interest in helping me at all. I had the reciept on my phone and they didnt even want to look at it. They were very rude and dismissive. I had to ask many peopl before being helped by the most busy agent. Completely awful experience with Greyhound and all the staff at the Philly station. CoachUSA allows you to show your ticket on your phone. The Greyhound will-call has screwed me over twice now. Always make sure you have your physical tickets for the full trip, or just dont ride Greyhound. The worst part is that the angry staff at the station had no interest in helping me. If they are this unapproachable and rude at the beginning of the day, I would do anything to avoid interacting with them again.
I am currently riding the Bieber Bus from the Greyhound. First of all, when I asked about my bus, nobody knew what I was talking about nor were very helpful. It also didnt help that no where on my ticket did it mention the name Bieber Bus.Secondly, my bus is at 7:15. He didnt arrive until 7:20 and just left at 7:40. He took his time checking tickets, boarding people and loading luggage.I am not please with my experience. If I even try the Greyhound again, I WILL make sure it is not the Bieber Bus.
Had the WORST experience with greyhound! Employee boarding the bus checked my tickets told me I was in the wrong line and when I asked where to go he replied with “figure it out yourself, no my problem” NEVER have I received such horrible disgusting answer when asking for help! (Prior to standing in line I had asked 2 employees and they told me where to make line) After I had to figure my way around I asked another employee where do I go cus apparently I was in the wrong line she told me once again I was on the correct line we then approached the guy boarding the bus and she told him why he did not let us board he told her we were in the wrong line. She insisted he take a look once again at our tickets then after he was wrong he just told us “get in” NO APOLOGY!! I had priority seating and was the first on the line with my boyfriend and because of the employees mistake (and horrible attitude) I get on the bus after like 25-30 ppl had already boarded and unfortunately my bf and I had to sit in separate seats because we did not get the priority boarding!!!! To finish it off the guy behind me was smoking!! I am extremely upset with a horrible headache because of this disgusting experience!!!!
We couldnt wait inside for the bus as the AC was on max and we were freezingthe person calling the bus asked us to label the luggage, but at the labeling desk they said its not needed. Further on, the bus driver was hitting the brakes more than needed and when someone stood up to say something, the driver cut him off in a very rude way (and kept driving like a monkey on steroids)
This station is horribly managed, the employees are incompetent and have no customer service. It is the most disorganized and disturbingly dirty and messy station. If you are in Philadelphia trying to get somewhere I recommend Bolt Bus or Megabus, even Peter Pan since they chewed their way out of the trap being partnered with Greyhound. Even the streets you wait for bolt and megabus are cleaner and staff at least know what the hell they are doing.Greyhound will forever be associated to hiring incompetent workers and not caring at all about customer loyalty.AVOID IF POSSIBLE!
The worst company ever, my bus should leave at 10.45 am and it is now 12:30 pm, and nobody even knows for how long it will be delayed, i have event in Harrisburg at 4pm, and because of this unprofessional company I won’t make it. never rely on this company if you something important to do, I won’t use Grayhound anymoreUpdate, i went to the supervisor asking for information, he said he has no information yet, i asked him should i stay just waiting, he replied rudely that i can ask for a refund for my tickets, i asked him is it the solution that you have, he said it an option, so rude manUpdate we just departed, the plugs are not working, and the driver said it is a problem with fuse box, this is my first bus trip with this company, and it gonna be the last.
Bus to Atlantic City was to leave at 5:05 it is now 7:25 and still no bus or any information as to when it will arrive. I can not believe this is happening people have schedules to follow and I have someone waiting for me in Atlantic City. It would be considerate if we could were homemade some information
I was here late last night to catch a NY bus at 10 pm. Bus was delayed by 30 minutes. We could not understand annoucements made by staff, who were short with us and didnt seem to care/know what was even happening. We were herded into line and stood for 20 minutes before the bus even pulled in. Bathrooms were gross. It smelled weird. I witnessed a drug deal go down outside. There were sketchy people all around inside & outside the station. Just... avoid spending more than an hour here. Your bus is probably delayed anyway.
Horrible. horrible customer service when you interact with the people in any way they act like you are bothering them or annoying them. The bus driver for Peter Pan bus lines- at least thats who i think he worked for , he wore a white shirt and looked like Al Roker on crack, he literally told me he was going to punch me when all I asked was which bus was going to Scranton. I had no time to report this guy or kick his ass myself as my bus was leaving. I will never go to this bus terminal again. Worst public transportation experience of my life. People like this should not be driving buses or working around the general public and should be fired.
First of all, I just spent the last hour and half on the line to customer service, the 800# and to the local bus station. The confirmation screen when order tickets on line was not what I had ordered. It turns out that if they are using a Martz bus you should be scheduling your bus ride with Martz and NOT with Greyhound. So you have a totally different bus schedule then what you anticipate. I will never use use Greyhound nor recommend them ever. I will be picking up and dropping off visitors at their homes. The customer service people (Derrick and Juarez) were rude and did not listen to what I had to say. Oscar the supervisor at the 215# was also rude. I have been in retail for over 25 yrs and this is not the way to get customers. The was the first and last ticket purchase at Greyhound!!!!!!!
Horrible and concerning. Ive been through dozens of Greyhound stations; never once have I experienced a station that lacks the general courtesy for safety. For some reason they lock their doors for and hour and fifteen minutes at a time with 20 minute intervals of allowing people in to purchase tickets and board their buses. Its crazy and obsurd. Perplexed while sitting on a dirty cement stoop at 3:30 a.m. in downtown Philly.
If I can give zero review I will give it. Greyhound Filbert street Philadelphia is not what it used to be.Mannerless staff and inconsiderate and unserious supervisor. If I find another means I would stop using grey hound.I was told by a greyhound supervisor to call in if I might miss a bus . I did so. I called in due to to terrible snow condition that slowed my driving. And I was told to pay again.Staff unapologetic and very insulting.Even if I have to pay, I should not be insulted. That staff needs to be sacked. 02/11/2019- 6am.
Greyhound has terrible customer service. They said they would switch my ticket date for me and proceeded to try and make me pay an extra $20 for a ticket I already paid for. After explaining that to them they had a horrible attitude and refused to help me the customer.
I was scheduled to leave for Pittsburgh from the Philadelphia Greyhound Terminal at 0020hrs but another bus was leaving at 2115hrs and was nearly empty, so they allowed me to ride this bus. I would have had a 3hrs and 45mins layover. Im grateful for there allowing me to take this earlier bus. Thanks again Greyhound!
Its nice having so many buses caught in one spot, but the station, itself, is horrible. The mens room is nauseatingly filthy every time I visit, the vending machines look like theyve been broken into several times, and the lines to catch a bus look like tangled, overlapping mazes. And dont bother with customer service, aside from buying a ticket.
Next to the Baltimore Greyhound, this is definitely one of the worst Greyhounds Ive ever had the misfortune of traveling through. After they lost my bag by accidentally taking it off at the wrong stop. I was trying to locate it by calling the Greyhounds that I had been through throughout the day with no help from them. A lady I believed named Gloria took off saying shed be back and left me standing at the ticket counter for close to 15 minutes before I finally asked one of her associates if he could find her please. When she did return, she did so empty handed and asked me exactly what do I need again with a pointed attitude. I have a flight to catch back to Maine tomorrow morning and by the way she was handling the loss of my luggage, poorly it doesnt seem as though Ill have my belongings before my flight.
Had the worst experience with the NJ transit staff at this terminal. I had a new jersey transit bus pass that I paid of $70 for. I was told that I could not travel from philly to NJ for some odd reason. I explained that I had no idea and that I didnt have any money to travel other than my bus pass. The staff basically was rude and didnt care if I made it home safely or not. They just left me to wander the streets of philly praying for a miracle.
I live in Northeast PA, so I would frequently take the Martz bus from Philly.I hate to give such a low review, as the Martz bus is fairly nice. But...I would give this bus stop no stars if I could.Taking the bus home is cheaper than driving...slightly. With a ten-dollar toll and a two hour drive, a bus ticket for $35 is slightly more efficient than driving myself there. Of course, the Martz buses have Wi-Fi, and they have to stop at the King of Prussia and sometimes White Haven (why, why) on the way. Unfortunately, if you need to get to a small town, there is a good chance that you will have to use this terminal. The reason this bus station gets a low rating is primarily due to the service and secondarily due to the atmosphere. First, every single employee who Ive come into contact with, other than the bus drivers, has been rude. Once I was about to ask which bus I had to get on. The employee saw me and said What? You just gonna stand there and look at me? I asked my question, and he pointed to the bus and said I was blind. This is the biggest example in my experience, but overall the employees are rude, ignorant, and unprofessional. The manager of this station is clearly incompetent. I had to catch a bus home the day before Thanksgiving. As you would imagine, it was extremely crowded, and there were a lot of people who had to do the same thing, in a massive line going out the door. There was exactly one person working the register. The line went out the door, and the person next to me missed his bus because of this lack of planning. I used to work at a Dairy Queen, and that store planning for things like this far better than this location. And finally, the atmosphere. The Greyhound bus terminal is a hangout for weirdos. Once someone tried to buy shrooms off me, and trust me, I dont look like a drug deal. There are people begging for change, talking to themselves, pidgeons walking everywhere, its a sty.Chinatown buses are faster and cheaper, because the big companies have to stop at every little town on the way. I look forward to the day when light rail, Megabus, Bolt Bus, or teleportation make this station obsolete.
It was surprisingly horrid considering Ive never ever had a problem with this place. We get in line, got some last minute information, had to run do something quick and came back 3 minutes later and they told us there were no more seats on the bus. answer me this: why would you sell tickets on a full bus like that? Me, my boyfriend and 3 others got screwed over today and Ive been stuck here for the last 9 hours and Ive got 2 more to go. I would have been home by now but I now will be arriving at home around 6am tomorrow. Both of us have work. Sure, after fighting with them they finally gave into giving us a full refund and meal vouchers which, mine got taken away from me and Im not sure why. For the most part we were thankful, but greyhound will never see my business nor my boyfriends ever again.
If I could I would give 0. My daughter took the early bus this morning, when she got to the station she was told the bus delay 2 hours, when she asked if there is other bus because she need to get to school early, the guy threatened her and told her to put her in the late afternoon bus, very unprofessional and very poor customer service, bus is never on time, one hour delay is normal, if you have other option, dont take this bus
I have mixed opinions about Greyhound and specifically the Philadelphia terminal. I travel to NY for leisure frequently and have been doing this for years. Prices are comparable to Mega and Bolt and the positive is that during inclement weather you are indoors and may have access to a seat if the bus is delayed. The other positive is that there is an extremely competent agent in Philadelphia, female named Patricia I believe who is professional, speaks clearly and provides superb customer service. She needs to be promoted to managemet. Downside...buses are frequently late, frequently dirty and the bathroom in the Philadelphia terminal is HORRENDOUS.
Not even joking- worst traveling experience, so cold i went numb and GOT PINK EYE! due to my amtrak train leaving early in Pittsburgh i had to exchange it for a bus ticket at greyhound (thankfully it was next door) waited in a long line just to get info on the transfer (i wasent sure if i was going to do it or wait another night) before the clerk even answered my questions he transpired my ticket! clerk was rude and dismissive walking away before i could get any questions out. thankfully another worker there was kind enough to help me out and put me on the right bus. this was in summer, and i had been expecting to be on a fairly climate controlled train so i was only in shorts and a tank top. the bus was freezing- a five hour bus ride with literally numb feet and hands. i got an express ticket- and the wifi which had been advertised was broken on top of that the night i got home i got pink eye (conjunctivitis) if your going on a greyhound bus- bring hand sanitizer and a winter coat!
Was rushing to get to work.in New York got.lost..reach the terminal ..came thru the back..the bus was there ...the driver outside but the woman ..whoever she was..cause she was really nasty...told me I missed the bus..I said please, the bus is right here it hasnt left yet and I cant afford another ticket ..she said she dont care..so my brother came back and drove me to new york. So I really dont speak to.anyone when I get there and I do take greyhound regularly to work cause I enjoy the ride back and forth. As for the bus service itself 5 stars.
This is crazy!!!.. I have departure at 12:01 and they said its late like 35 min. so time like 12:40 pm. but its already 1:00 pm and I am not boarding on the bus....they have poor costumer service and their drivers are rude. they dont know the difference between old citizens ...be polite...thats all.
There is nothing really great about the station except probably its location. There is no clear signage or information regarding Peter Pan buses. Building looks old and outdated. Drinks are very expensive. If it werent for the kind lady at the counter, I would not know where I was going. The moment you exit the building, you could be greeted by strange people or taxi scammers.
To the people complaining about lack of leg room outlets and Wi-Fi those features are only available on the Express busses... They cost the same as regular when bought online and they are usually faster routes. I went to pittsburgh from philly and my experience was awesome. My bus was also basically empty... The way back I had problems. If you buy your tickets online and have to print them out at the station make sure you hold tight to that receipt or else they will need ID to let you on because people will pick the tickets up off the ground. Also the driver on the way back was very unproffesional.. Lieing to the passenger instead of telling the truth.
Late bus no announcement. I asked the man who told us to get in line for a 7pm bus about when it was coming, at 715. He told me it was 25-30mins late. Afterwards, I informed everyone standing and waiting about the delay. An actual announcement was made at 720pm. 20 mins of no information for people who showed up on time to catch their 7pm bus. #nolivesmatter
I come here every so often from NY, and this terminal is pretty bad. The bathrooms are stinky/dirty. Going back to NY, the terminal is usually very disorganized; its hard to tell which line is the one for your bus, and youll get a different answer from every agent you ask. And theres not much seating if you have awhile to wait. But the NY terminal isnt much better, so maybe its just a bus thing!
The terminal and staff are nice. The buses are a dump! Do not believe what they say online about free wifi, outlets and ample leg room... The buses I took didnt have any. Bus was late leaving by 1 hour (we just sat at the terminal). WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET. Go with one of the other bus lines if leaving Philly.
Got off the peter pan bus 🚌. The bathroom needs remodeling. Theres no place ro wash your hands. Inside theres a restaurant vending machines. then security comes and starts asking for people bus passes but he forgot to check outside and by then the people outside were cold asleep
I dont know why it came up in my head today but I went to my uncles wedding in September in Philadelphia and I was a big dummy who couldnt maneuver the station and the buses but Patricia helped me out so much. She was polite, understanding and willing to help. So even though I never give reviews, Shoutout Patricia. Youre the best. Station was alright too.
So rude! not dependable. Took money from me for priority shipping 5 days ago. If you check their website, it states that it guarantees a place on the next bus. It has been 5 days and my package still did not leave the station. Isnt false advertising illegal? I hate the whole experience. Do not use it. it is a scam.
I’m at the bus station now and they are delaying my bus by two hours because you don’t have a bus? How does a bus station run out of buses? Complete bs, unprepared and the person in charge of logistics and inventory needs to be fired. Unacceptable will never ride From the philly station again.
Two weeks ago, we bought tickets @ broad & Synder. The 2:45 & the 4:45 never showedup, had to go to 11th and Filbert St. It took the woman @ the counter so long to give us more tickets. We helded up the bus... She had no clue what she was doing. ILL drive myself to A.C.. Greyhound Sux...
My sons trip was a disaster!!! Im losing a days wages because of the lousy service greyhound has given to my son. And I was very angry to the point I began to use profanity to try and get awareness of where my son route was and where he was being dropped off. Thank God for Sherea👍👍👍👍she helped me find the destination and rating my experience with her its a 10. Thank you again Sherea!!!!
Its so cold in their buses, its unbelievable! Im on my way to Washington right now and I regret taking this bus without bringing a winter coat or something (by the way its 85 degrees outside). I can tell everybody is freezing, my roommate caught a cold last time she took a trip from NYC to Philly and her back was hurting for like a week. I just dont understand why they have to keep the AC so low!!!
This terminal is so bad they lock you outside at midnight even if you have a ticket it was 50f outside and when they finally let you in at 2am you find out the bus has been delayed... And then canceled without any information from the staff and then just when you think it cant get any worse you look at the dirty floor and you have a cock roach on your bag. 1/10 step it up.
This is the most unorganized mess of a station I have ever been to. The only way to know whats going on is to stop a worker and to ask them 20 questions. The departure board is always wrong and there are no announcements telling people whats going on. Next time I am taking mega bus or a train.
Just got off my bus from Philly to Toronto and I dont even know where to begin. Probably the worst part is that someone was left behind by the bus driver in the middle of nowhere at a gas station even though half the bus was shouting that we were missing someone. Yet the driver refused to stop. So many other issues as well but just not worth my time to discuss further. If I could give zero stars I would.
This place was bizarre to say the least.Very unorganized and general lack of knowledge from employees.Best part was the homeless lady arguing with the cheese on her pizza..then slam box lid...slowly open it..and start raging again...my kids and I love free entertainment. When we were in line.. finally.. for bus ride...we heard security to womens restroom on loudspeaker.Im guessing the Pizza won.
They were helpful with me no problem at all everything went nice . I give them a 4 because the first day I show up I saw a 85 year old lady with a walker trying open the door and she couldnt do it it was to hard and with all the people was there no one helped her out in such difficulties so I went my self and open the door for her and she said thank you to me.
2.5 hour delay cause grey hound doensnt have their stuff together... 1.5 hrs at a toll booth because the damn driver doesnt have an ezpass and decides to pull over.. instead of getting their clients to their destination... customer service makes you jump through hoops to get to a voice on the phone.. which never happened... horrible Incredible this company is in service
Yo Bus almost killed my wife and I on Feb 19 at 3:12pm on the northbound approach to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The bus (Texas plate Ko2 1332) was speeding in the center lane and tried to come right into my lane pushing me into a barrier. I honked and he swerved back into the center lane and then again came right and forced me to brake hard to avoid a crash. Beware!!!
So bad. It brings back bad memories to dwell on it. I shutter at how bad it was. They were so rude. So unprofessional. So obtuse. So unhelpful. Just the lowest common denominator in every sense of the word. Avoid like the plague and dont be ensnared by these peoples ignorance.
The chauffeur on the bus Im traveling on is an aggressive and discriminating madman. I shouted and insulted him because he did not speak English. I am a tourist, I do not have to know English, he does not know what he eats thanks to all who buy a ticket like me. These people ruin the company

2022-05-01My husband and I were standing in line for the 11am bus from Philadelphia to NYC, but we realized there were two different lines for two different buses going to NYC at the same time. We weren’t sure which line was correct so I went inside and tried to ask the woman at the counter for help (I prefaced it by saying the bus is boarding right now and I needed to know which one to take), and she stated that she had a long line of customers waiting and that I was being rude and that I needed to learn manners. At that point I went back outside and we waited in the incorrect line, and by the time we were able to board we were informed it was the wrong bus. Thankfully the correct bus had not left yet and we barely caught it. I had a terrible experience here and would not recommend using this bus station. We likely will not be using Greyhound or Peter Pan bus services in the future.

2022-05-09Im sure if you search this station youll find pinheads puzzle box because this place is hell on earth. Most of the workers are like prison grauds and treat you like youre an inmate and you cant ask any questions, this includes bus drivers. If you dont have any other options then just keep your head up high, youll be where you need to be eventually. But also know that Greyhound knows you dont have any other options and will treat you like you have no other option.

2022-03-08Customer service here is terrible. Waited here all day since noon just to find out the bus ride was canceled due to an incoming snowstorm and no one told me this until maybe 10 minutes ago.I actually called this morning and was told the trip would be fine to go just to be told that it’s canceled. Leaving me and maybe a few others stranded here in Philadelphia….should’ve just brought a plane ticket

2019-07-04A 35 minutes Philly stop on the way to Baltimore. The bus station is right next to The Reading Terminal Market. Just enough time to grab a pound of ribs and The best pastrami sandwich Ever! Back in time to take care of business and load the bus. PLEASE personalize your baggage, a ladies took mine by mistake, I had to hunt her down.

2019-10-14This is a review of the station and staff within not of Greyhound bus services. For such a major city this station is a bit on the small side. However, I found the staff helpful. If you have a layover and are hungry do yourself a favor and step outside for some great Chinese

2019-06-05I have been to this location several times and each time theres someone there action abnormal or theres is some type of confusion amongst the staff. It isnt uncommon for there to be a delay in bus departures and arrivals. I try not to travel through this station especially at night if I can avoid it. This is my home city so I can easily maneuver through the city but if youre not I would suggest coming through here during the day and to be on alert.

2018-09-07Dont take Greyhound if you are traveling to big cities nearby. The delays are crazy and they never tell you why. My bus to New York on Sunday 3pm left at 4 pm. It was supposed to arrive at 5 pm but arrived at 7pm. Take bolt bus or megabus if they are available (coming from my friend who used to travel between Philadelphia and New York for 2 years)

2021-06-18If I can give this station and minus zero I would. 6/17 11:15 am bus to AC trip. Older AA CS rep lady with the braids was so incredibly rude & yelling when asked simple questions. No direction on what gate it may come in, display board was saying to see agent for info. Bus driver was late, unprofessional and reckless driving trying to catch up on time. If can’t handle the jobs, please hand it over to someone that will. Will NEVER book with greyhound again. Straight ghetto. Amtrak to AC tickets are cheaper anyways.

2020-09-30My grandson and I traveled by Greyhound on Tuesday September 29 at 11:00 from Philadelphia to New York, and then to Atlantic City. My grandson was able to connect to virtual school, which was a plus and also had wifi and charging ability at the seats. All the drivers were very professional and excellent drivers. They both announced their names and the expectations of all passengers, to be mindful of correct behavior while traveling. It was rather cold due to the air conditioner, I guess there is a reason. 70-69 would be a more favorable temperature to most. All wore masks and able to sit alone at a distance, except for one passenger who did not sit alone, as far as I could see, everyone followed the pandemic guidelines. The training for the drivers are excellent. I will ride cross country next time. The experience made me proud, and more aware of the responsibilities of all bus drivers who serve the people with excellence. Great example for my young grandson.;
