Good food, cheap drinks!
I dont come in here as often as I use to when I was a smoker. If the place is slammed the smoke eaters cant keep up but thats my only issue. The bartenders are fantastic, most have been there for years. There food is great and is pretty cheap, although the menu is small. They have drink and food specials almost everyday which is the way to go if hopping around on the cheap. This is a staple in Erie for a reason, cheap drinks from great bartenders!

The best working class bar that knows you! The bartenders are amazing once you get to know them and the atmosphere is calm and you can play your music on the juke box and relax. Been going there since I was 5. My dad and I would sit back in the train and have a ginger ale and BLT and dad would have a Pabst and a Philly cheese steak for lunch. Cant ask for a better place!

Nice friendly place to visit close to the interstate and Airport and a lot of other interesting places. Its Been a Erie staple for many years and the owner is very friendly and helpful. I worked at the downtown Plymouth for a while and loved the people and friends I made at both places. Come in and join us for dinner tonight and then you can see why its so hard to leave the family owned bar and restaurant you will have a good time and cold drinks with friends and friendly Prices.
CASH ONLY bar. Do not accept credit/debit card (they do have an ATM there). Very annoying to keep getting money out because they dont do tabs and apparently dont write anything down. When my group walked in, we ordered drinks, they gave us menus a few minutes later and then we were ignored for about 15-20 minutes until one of the bartenders noticed we needed a refill. Then we finally got to order. Of course, she had to go one at a time (separate orders) to add up the total and we had to pay up front for our food, all while never writing our orders down (just going back and forth to the register to type in what we told her). When we got our food it was DELICIOUS, I will admit. However, it wasnt until later that I realized we were missing an item we had paid for. Unfortunately, we were home by then and couldnt do anything about it. Very annoyed with the overall experience.
I didNt order off menu. others did and were happy with it. It was packed and heArd good things. I wouldnt choose to return. Food on bar was old and sloppy. The server was rude when my 8 yr old asked for a water. Tables were set up like a bigger buffet but crowed. Just not my scene. Others enjoys tho.
This is a perfect casual bar. The draft beer is inexpensive and the food is good with great prices. Try taco Tuesday or Wednesday which is Greek hamburger and hot dog night. They allow smoking so keep that in mind.
The oldest bar in Erie with some of the best drink prices in Erie. They rotate one draft craft selection, and have 10 or 12 craft bottles available at all times. The prices are good for craft bottles. Be forewarned, its a smoking bar, and you will smell like smoke when you leave. Outside of the private social clubs, Haggertys is about as cheap as it gets.Unfortunately, most of the bartenders have lousy attitudes and pathetic customer service. They can afford to be when they are the cheapest bar in town. The place has so many low-life alcoholic customers that are over-served nightly. Its pretty bad. They seem to protect these customers as their base. The elephant in the room is the BLCE has been ignoring this place entirely, which in some ways isnt surprising. They know how bad it is, but do nothing because the owner also owns the Plymouth. They somehow avoid being cited. Hmmm...

Good food, great drink prices, some very nice regulars. VERY SMOKEY (IF u dont smoke). I would rank higher like a 4to 4.5 for a neighborhood bar (has a cool pinball machine, shuffleboard and pool table), but there is a rather inhospitable and unfriendly bartender there that works several nights a week (usually weekends) that runs people right outta the place. JUSTS RUINS IT.
Thank goodness for Janet and Theresa.. they make the pandemic tolerable! The food is great and the beer is cold. What more can I ask for?!!?

Really cool place to go. Ive known about this bar forever. Its one of the few bars in Erie that survived Prohibition. And good prices and awesome wings.
The few times ive been there its been a very cliquy attitude among the bartenders and servers. Not exactly the best crowd in there either. Not recceomended

A ok bar not really my kind of hangout spot but Im always treated with respect when I go there . Drink specials are good and food specials are the best , especially on Tuesday.
Very professional staff great conversation, pool table, many games, TV respectful crowd as well as a packed house many hours of the day. Fun place to be. No Riff Raff here.

I refuse to patronize a place that serves the known murderer, Joseph Lumsden. I was in there & he harassed me. Why he is allowed to roam free is beyond me. But if I was the bar owner, I wouldnt let him in my establishment.
Great place for any social activities, the best popcorn and back velvet shots anywhere! I had my sons 4th birthday party at HAGs, it was awesome!
Haggertys is a nice, chill bar with good food and a great drink selection. Theres plenty of seating, complimentary popcorn/peanuts, a pool table a train car and a patio.
Cold drinks and friendly people, will be one of my must stops next time in town !

They have one bartender that is not worthy of serving the public, it has happened to me time and time when she is working... When she is working I will no longer visit that establishment
I called to order wings tonight and the that answered the phone was rude cause I didnt know the flavors and when I ask her she said to call back really rude she couldnt hear me it was happy hour...yeah so what I was calling to place a order...

2022-02-20The first time I came to this bar, I walked in uncertain of what was to come. I was greeted by the sound of blues & jazz guitar over the speakers. A smog of tobacco smoke and hearty laughter filled the air. I went to the bar, ordered a drink, handed over my card and was promptly told we dont take none of that plastic here.Truly a beautiful introduction for great times to come. Cash only, divey place with a commited community of return visitors. This was my pool training ground for literally years to come. Countless memories, games, and fun. It was the focal point of the hangout area. It was what allowed me to meet and interact with the regulars, it was what gave purpose to routine drinking nights with friends.There was a table culture here. House rules that were learned and respected by all. If someone was king of the table- anyone who wanted to play had to beat them in order to take over the table. This is how things were and it is how I learned to socialize with the community, improve my play at the game, and integrate with a sense of belonging. It undeniably gave this place purpose and reason. It was a primary function for meeting and getting to know all sorts of interesting visitors, individuals, and couples.Having returned post government shut down orders, it is inconceivably sad to see their pool table replaced with a TV and ESPN. This is my plea to the owner(s); please bring it back so that the community of pool players can once return to one of the best places, if not the best place, to shoot. Upon receipt of this, my review will be immediately raised to a 5/5. Until then, Im afraid I will most likely not be returning.

2021-07-09Love this fun drive bar where everyone (over 21) is welcomed. Play shuffleboard to determine who buys the next round. But scratch offs to pass the time between pints. The beer selection is almost as diverse as the crowd of patrons.

2020-01-11Bar was so smoky and to get a drink took a long time. Granted only one bartender who tried her hardest but also felt like people who come often got served quicker and some twice while we waited. This place could use a lot of cosmetic updates. I bet summer time this would be a great place to go with patio
