The hotel is clean and well-maintained.They have microwave and refrigerator in the room and Keurig coffee maker. Breakfast buffet was excellent. They served hot and cold food (eggs, sausages, waffle, French toast, yogurt). Theres coffee and tea 24/7 at the lobby. The general manager Frenchiie and front desk Gigi and the rest of the staff were very helpful in helping us with what we need where to go in town. Many thanks to all of you. I highly recommend this hotel
I am from out of town. Had a family wedding this past weekend.Spoke with Tara the day that I BOOKED.She took her time with me and assured me that I was about 15- 20 minutes from the venue.I also inquired about an early check in. She suggested I call the day before, but saw no issues. Super nice and very professional.I called the morning of the wedding and I got Melanie. Sooo nice and she said- we would be accommodated at 2:30 and we were. Melanie just so happened to check us in.That night when we returned our cards did not work. (Not uncommon. This had happened before). We went down to desk and TARA (from the above mention)helped us out.Again- could not have been any nicer.Yes- the hotel is still under renovation BUT- so clean. The breakfast- wow!!!! Eggs, bacon, french toast, bagels, pancakes, sausage, cereal, yogurt. Im sure there was more.....Did I mention round the clock coffee!!!The check out.... FAST FAST FAST.Will definitely stay again!
Nice place, friendly staff that is ready to help. In the middle of renovations , the mattresses are a little firm for my preference . Our sink was clogged, and they took care of it immediately. Otherwise, nice place. Its definitely pricey, but it is ski season, and this is a ski area.
I’ve been coming to this location for years now and I can’t complain. Always a pleasure, I used to come with my family a lot before Covid. And didn’t come for years. Until now. And again everyone is so lovely. Especially Jojo he has been so helpful with everything I’ve had a question or if I needed something in my stay. So I thank you. I will be coming here more often. I just miss the jacuzzi in the pool lol. Only thing I can say I miss from here. But everything else love it. The rooms always clean and always ready. Love it.
Staff was nice, but amenities had a lot to be desired. Had to go down to desk 5 times to get a coffee machine that was missing (one was broke the first time), there were no sheets for pullout bed, breakfast juice machine was out of order. If you have a room near the pool roof, youll have noises all night from the heater units. There was an elevator out of order. Chose Holiday Inn express with good reviews, but I guess staff shortages have taken its toll on the hotel.
The staff was very attentive to my arrival. Ive actually had to stand in a line in some hotels while the staff was chit chatting among themselves. Here, as soon as I walked In I was acknowledged even though there was someone ahead of me.The Room was very nice, tidy and the linens were very clean with that fresh laundered smell. The property is quiet for being off a busy road and I was able to sleep peacefully. No-one was running around the hallways making noise or loitering around causing issues. Ive had that happen at other hotels as well.I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the Poconos.
When I arrived I was greeted by smiling faces. After a long day it was nice to be welcomed. My room was tidy and clean. The bathroom actually smelled good. Everything in the room worked including the mini fridge which was great because I dont like my soda warm and I was able to keep a small container of milk and leftovers in there. The room was free from bugs and the sheets were actually clean. Overall it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel, which I cant say the same for some other places Ive stayed at. I will be staying here every time I come to visit with my family.
The general cleanliness and friendless of staff was average. Nothing really to note. The building was under construction so boxes were stacked in the lobby and sections were closed off. The biggest let down was the pool. We specifically chose a hotel with an indoor pool and drove up a little earlier than we were planning so our kids could swim a bit. Unfortunately, the hotel rents out the pool for swim lessons at prime swimming time. The pool itself is not large and with 6-8 children plus 2 swim instructors in the pool, our girls were constantly having to move out of the way. When I asked the front desk staff about when lessons might end, we were told 6 pm. I was also assured that the swim lessons would remain to one end of the pool if hotel guests were there. So we opted to eat dinner first and wait it out. We went down at 6:45 and there were still lessons going on. We let our girls swim until about 7:15 and eventually pulled them because kids were still rotating in for swim lessons and they were not remaining to one side of the pool. Definitely a disappointment considering we were paying guest.
Pros: Breakfast was really good with lots of selections, the front desk staff is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and quick. The room was clean and I found the beds to be really comfortable. Wifi was easy to connect to and quick on all of our devices. Good tv options.Cons: Very thin walls. We could hear the conversation in the room next to us loud enough that my kids, at 11pm, asked who is talking? and we could hear when people in adjacent rooms were just moving around normally. The rooms are junky - not out of date, just in disrepair. Ceiling was peeling, door was warped, there was no toilet paper holder, the bathroom vanity area had a hole where something was ripped out and was bubbled from water damage (I thought tp holder but it was in the dead center under the sink), insulation was hanging from a sprinkler, and the faucet leaked unless at an odd angle. *Hotel did have signs that they were undergoing renovations (July 2022) but Im not sure if it applied to the rooms or just lobby. There was an exterior light that shone straight up from the ground outside near our window preventing it from being very dark in the room. Since the curtains do not close, aside from the sheer panel, this wasnt ideal for sleeping. The first floor has a strange smell to it, which I think is from the pool but Im not totally certain. The pool is a typical tiny inclusion and there were a ton of people in it every time we walked by.
Pretty poorly maintained Poconos hotel currently under construction. Figured management might give a Spire member one of their best room, but if that was it I cant imagine what the rest look like. Basically every piece of furniture was stained or damaged in the room. The bathroom had existing holes from fixture changes and the towel rack anchors pulled out of the wall. Oh and the tub had a giant mass of hair clogging the drain which the manager on duty took care of himself. I travel a lot for work all over the Midwest, OK, TX, IA, NM, etc. and honestly havent stayed in a Holiday Inn branded hotel in worse shape. Location is very noisy at night as well, or maybe its just the bad poorly sealed windows...who knows.
On the Plus Side: Superb staff (particularly Nanita and Daniel). Also, excellent Housekeeping. On the Minus Side: I didnt get my expected automatic upgrade, possibly because of exigencies of remodeling. The heating unit was unusually loud, unlike in other rooms I have occupied there.
I have stayed at this hotel for close to a year off and on. I have seen a big change with this hotel since the Manager Frenchie has taken over running this place. Hes very kind, considerate and egar to help resolve any issues. Hes made changes in appearance of the hotel, both inside and outside. He has even made changes in staffing to create a better atmosphere and pleasurable service during your stay.
The front desk staff are absolutely horrible. Was going to stay here for work. There were 10 of us total. We had crew fax rooms. Got to hotel and they told us they didnt have reservations for any of us. Then miraculously, our Spanish speaking coworkers all got rooms, but all of us that spoke English were told we didnt have rooms. So we called crew fax and they were going to send over new reservations. Hotel told us not to bother because they didnt have to provide any of us with rooms. So we were stranded hours from home. Work had to get us new reservations down the street.Dont stay here if you arent prepared to have to find a room somewhere else.
Stayed here one night. I started the shower, washed up, and then went to dispense shampoo but either the fixed container was empty, or the dispenser was broken. This should be checked daily. At breakfast (got there at 8:30 for the breakfast period from 6:30-9:30) and the flat egg-white omelets were gone and never replaced. Also, there were no napkins available, only paper towels. Also, there were wrapped spoons, unwrapped plastic forks, and no knives. These items should be addressed immediately during this time of the pandemic. Finally, TV-channel listing sheet was not completely correct. Otherwise, the stay was fine, staff was very friendly, and I would stay there again if these issues are addressed.
This is the pearl in the sea of Stroudsburg. Excellent customer service by the front desk staff and manager. My stay here was comfortable, it was close to where I wanted to be.Room was well maintained and clean. Good breakfast and heated swimming pool made my stay a great experience.I will stay again
I booked the hotel through Priceline and Priceline is the one who took out the payment prior to my arrival. I arrived at the hotel for check in and the front desk and they asked if i could put a credit card on file in case. I obliged. Four days after I leave, the hotel charges me an additional $117 because the Priceline price was not as high as the hotel would have liked it to be. I had to call the hotel approximately five different times before I was even able to speak with a representative about the additional, unknown charge posted to my account. The holiday inn should take up their issues with Priceline and not charge the guest additional. The hotel was barely worth the amount I paid, and more than definitely not worth an additional $117. I had to ask the front desk three different times for sheets to be provided FOR THE BED. The front desk told me multiple times he was too busy to provide sheets. I was told the day before the hotel did not have running water. The hotel pool was a murky dirty gray color and looked like a sewage water.I would not recommend to a friend, and would highly discourage anyone from staying.
I am a visiting nurse, I stay here for work related travel. The property is convenient, the staff is friendly & the manager accommodating, Renovations at the property are a little inconvenient but necessary for upgrades. The staff and manager have converted me. The respect they give me as a nurse is unmistakable.A big shout out to the breakfast staff.
This Holiday Inn is half broken down hotel and half construction site. There was NO WATER the first night of our stay. Half of the elevators were out of service and I lost track of the broken items in my room (floor lamp, drawer pulls, headboard, curtains…)Staff did their best but when MGMT insists on keeping a hotel open during construction to make a few extra bucks there’s not much they can do to make the stay remotely pleasant.
Positive: Absolutely nothing. It was filthy room was not cleaned before. Shampoo bottles where empty if it wasn¿t 11pm would have found somewhere else to go. Thank god we didn¿t end up with bed bugs Negative: Room was filthy room was not cleaned before. Shampoo bottles where empty if it wasn¿t 11pm would have found somewhere else to go.. only one person working that night so when we needed towels needed to get them ourselves. Diagusting
I booked the room through Expedia and was not aware the hotel was undergoing a renovation.I asked expedia if the hotel would be willing to offer a discount for the inconvenience and the front desk basically said I could check out.For over $200 for a single night it wasnt worth it for the garbage in the hall ways, the broken elevator, dirty room and construction dust which I had the pleasure of breathing.Non smoking hotel whos property manager smokes right by the front door to walk into the hotel.-----------‐----Update 4/19 Ive contacted the hotel after their response to this review and after 5 business days Frenchie did not reach out to speak about this matter. While their GM was not the person on staff, whomever works the shift that ends at 11pm stands at the door and smokes. Also the photos of the garbage just laid in the hallway speaks for itself.
Worst experience!!!1. Wifi - Its a joke in the name of free wifi! Most of the times - it doesn’t even stay connected.2. AC - even in a $50 motel, you will get an AC which cools the room temperature and doesn’t stop working at midnight!3. Location - In Booking.com it was mentioned as “mountain view room”. The amount of “mountain” was visible from the room was equivalent to the amount of mountain you can see from Florida’s palm beach!4. Breakfast - there were containers for hot foods but unfortunately all of those were empty (Check images) & the chef told “oven was not working”!! Highly doubtful; but even though we assume that’s true, surprising- how a IHG chain’s Holiday INN can’t even find a way to repair ovens…The only positive was the warm gesture of the staffs, the decorated lobby/rooms. All other amenities are so poor!Bottomline - Try to avoid at all cost. With few more bucks you can easily go for Marriott, which is just few mins. away!
We booked this hotel the morning of our arrival as a last minute getaway. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Melanie who is beyond friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Our entire stay was terrific. Every staff member went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay. The breakfast was tremendous and constantly refilled and refreshed. The property was clean and well maintained. We look forward to returning in the near future.
The hotel was clean and bright our suite was very nice and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Location was perfect for visiting various points of interest in the Pocono region. The one women I believe her name was Andrea said you are here all weekend thats great we will be friends and that is the way it felt as we came and went over the weekend very friendly.
We enjoyed our stay and will be staying here again. The staff was super helpful and the bathroom amenities were very nice. There was also a lot of variety for the included breakfast.Beds were comfortable, although I prefer feather pillows (better for my back). But I do highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Stroudsberg, Pa.
I want to rave about 2 employees who obviously take work seriously and are super friendly, attentive, accommodating and made me feel like a celebrity.Daniel: I cold called the front desk from about an hour out on a miserable, dark trip towing 45 of truck and trailer through a noreaster, to check availability and ask about special needs for parking, handicap access and military pricing. He set it up 100% perfectly within minutes including exactly where to park in advance. When I arrived, he greeted me by name, triple checked everything, got me settled and left me with absolutely zero questions or concerns.Eric: Breakfast is a HUGE selling point with me, and he made it happen with enthusiasm and charm. He ran it, alone, 100% on point, perfectly coordinated including timing the delivery the night before. I especially appreciate that he took the effort to walk me through the line and wait on me since Im on crutches. Fresh, hot, no wait and extraordinary, genuine hospitality!
As business owners we tend to have a critical eye. We also understand business issues and the challenges associated with that. The room was oddly large, we think that this is due to the renovation, being done in stages and some demo and patching had been done. This in preparation for further enhancement of the room.Nothing wrong with that, on one of our last IHG property visits the room was less than half the size. I think we made fun about changing your mind in the bathroom. As in it was too small to do so....If this hotel moves toward the more modern facilities constructed in the last 4-5 years, they are on the right track. Our selection was based on location, the trip was 300 miles with one stop, we needed a safe place to stay. It fit the bill and put us on the road to our final stop in Maryland. We found an outstanding Restaurant nearby for dinner. The Thai Orchid just a few miles away. The owner was at the counter and the food was some of the best on our trip. Tip of the hat to them.Of special note, Eric working the breakfast area was very attentive, kept everything stocked and clean. Not sure if this is contracted out, regardless, he should be targeted for a commendation. Guests would set something down or drop an item he would attend to it instantly.I did not get a name, but as we departed I had to stop into the lobby restroom. An older man, the maintenance worker for the hotel, looked and he knew what i needed. Pointed me to the restroom with a smile. It was clean, and recently renovated, though I dont get the modern sink concepts.Give them time, they are trying to improve.
The entire stay was a huge bust. I should have known staying here was a mistake after the staff in the front room failed to answer the phone on numerous calls to extend our booking. There was no hot breakfast due to the oven being broken. I would never have stayed here had this been mentioned before arrival. The staff did not put a Do Not Disturb sign in our room and consequentially, the cleaning staff ended up taking things that we were still using. We had rowdy neighbors who decided to loudly play Reggae and their television until about 3am both nights. They screamed, cackled and stomped around for hours. I called the front desk to see if they could help and after two unsuccessful attempts I gave up. There was no hot water in the shower and the hair dryer was broken. I have long hair so I was unable to wash properly and decided to just wait until I arrived home to clean my hair.My partner and I suffered from the lack of sleep, hygiene and nutrition the next two mornings as we were attending a local convention as vendors. We will never be booking with Holiday Inn again after this experience.
Everything was great. Especially the staff. A BIG shout out to tara. Shes the best. Staff were extremely helpful in making our stay enjoyable. We had accidentally left our insulin and was contacted by staff (tara) to inform us so we could come back and get the insulin. Thanks for everything.
Positive: The location was convenient. Negative: The quality & service provided at this hotel were subpar and there was a pattern of disrespect, rudeness, and inconsideration displayed amongst the staff, stemming from management. My business & the money I spent were neither valued nor appreciated.

I hate to not be fair and consistent- especially when everyone is short staff and the housekeeper probably have 30 rooms a piece to clean! So I will say this- staff need to work together and make sure guest rooms are detailed after cleaning. We found a dead ladybug on our wall - which stayed the entire stay because no one checked our room for three days. We also found hair on the live ladybug’s. Also our tub had hair on the side of the tub. Probably from the cloth used by the housekeeper to wipe it down. I will be back - and I thank you all..
The group staying in the room above us was extremely loud. I called the front desk and they spoke to them once. The excess noise and banging around continued into the night to the point that I called down and asked to switch rooms. The staff was very accommodating and understanding, but stated that there was not much they could do as if they were to kick the noisy party out, they would leave a poor review for the hotel and get a free overnight stay. This was not a satisfactory answer to me. Neither me or my children slept well. Staff did what they could and were very kind.
5* service. Dont be misled by the official rating for the hotel overall. . Decided to extend my 1-nite stay by an additional night. Daniel at the front desk was very cheerful and helpful during my check-in and throughout my stay. For the price, including taxes, the hotel is a very reasonable deal. Would stay again.
Looks like the new management has definitely done a great turn over and service has been up too expectations. Previous stay was not that great but gave it another chance and wow seen the difference. My kiddo loves it as we travel around the world and can see that the holiday inn is now elevated it’s standards of service. Hope they keep it that way with the new management team and go beyond. Definitely will be back in the near future and hope to meet the new management team. Thank you Holiday inn for the wonderful service.
Reception desk staff are welcoming, friendly and willing to resolve any reported issues without hesitation. Since this was a vacation week, we are certain the hotel was busier than in the past year due to the pandemic. As such, it appeared the hotel was short-staffed. So, we knew we would need to be patient.Upon entering first room given to us, we determined the room was not the suite we reserved. The reception desk person gladly and immediately switched us to the proper room.Unfortunately, the bathtub had not been properly cleaned. But, within 15-minutes of calling, a housekeeper arrived to take care of the issue. We were quite satisfied with this response. The in-room Keurig coffee brewer was not operational. But, since free hot coffee is always available in the lobby, this was not an issue. Breakfast each morning was limited. But, satisfactory given the pandemic with bagels (butter, cream cheese and jellies), fruit, pancakes, orange juice and apple juice.
This hotel is filthy and the staff was very unprofessional. The door to our room was open when we arrived. Very scary for two females staying by themselves. Our room had a terrible chemical smell. The bathroom was not clean (toilet seat dirty) and we did not have any hand soap. We had to use shower gel to wash our hands. The breakfast was the only highlight of our stay. Very tasty and had a great selection. At checkout, however, the staff was very rude. We stood in front of the counter while the receptionists just continued their conversation in front of us. When we were acknowledged, we were not greeted with a hello or question about our stay. I will never stay at this hotel again.
I came here with my boyfriend because we were visiting family and they didnt even have my our room ready we had to wait an HOUR and when we finally got to our room I swear I saw at least 2 bed bugs and then the toilet wouldnt flush and the water was ice old. Also I found pee stains under toilet seat and I know that wasnt ours because we just put our bags down even though we were scared to because we saw bed bugs. There was also hair on the blanket Im very OCD so this whole experience was a mess for me. get it together. I asked to speak to the boss and all he did was ignore me and go to his office like he didnt even care. So the lady at the front desk tried to help us.
We loved our stay in the hotel, especially the welcome and treatment of the GM Mr. Frenchie and the staff. We travel to Stroudsburg from Ca about 6 to 8 times a year to visit our grandchildren for the past 4 years, and yet to find such a wonderful place and people. we will always do our best to book this hotel. You should try as well!!!
Great location for a rest before traveling into NJ or NY (I’ve stayed here a number of times on way to visit family). Consistently good breakfast selection; friendly/helpful staff; comfortable, clean room. Didn’t use the indoor pool, but other guests seemed to be enjoying it. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff but overall disappointed with the stay. I hate writing bad reviews so Ill do a pro and con list.Pros: Kind of affordable, small fitness area off the main lobby, pool that looks okay in a similar area, friendly staff, small breakfast in am, keurig, microwave, small fridge (not very cold, but hey), desk area, J.R Watkins shower amenities (thought was pretty cool).Cons and my experience: waited for 20 min upon arrival to be checked in despite being the only person in line. I noticed that the overall cleanliness of the building wasnt great. Overall atmosphere is dark and closed in and a little outdated. I know its difficult with some inclement weather but the floors of the lobby, halls and elevator leading to the rooms were in pretty sad shape. After my wait, I was given a key to a room to find that the room I was given was not cleaned and had to ask for another room. Had to go up and down to get to a clean room that wasnt even certain if the next would be clean. I definitely wouldnt stay here again unless I needed to. Ive stayed in hotels cheaper and felt it had better quality.Came here to do some activities in the area right before a snow storm but I didnt feel comfortable staying knowing they may lose power/ Id be stuck there and just went home.I usually love hotels but this was not too ideal.
The front desk staff was nice and provided extra blankets and pillows. It’s not a very convenient location. The pool was gross and the attached hot tub was boarded up. The in-room refrigerator was filthy. There was a leftover loofah from a previous guest in the shower. It was ok for a quick place to stay, but I don’t think I’d stay here again. It was also way overpriced.
Well this was a great stay except for the breakfast, it was funny that they said breakfast included but in our 4 days stay the breakfast was not there empty pots and no attendant to take care.. thankfully we had a packet of bread with us for our road trip that we toasted. It was shameful fir them that they had so many guests staying there and were not taken care of.. the front desk representative tried to help both ways but we believe they are short of staff. We liked our kind suite well equipped large room and they stay was comfortable.
On July 14th, I arrived at the hotel and there was a queue of 4 to check in. No one was at the desk and I had asked what was going on. One who was waiting said that the front desk employee (Daniel) went to check the rooms to see if they have been cleaned. Daniel had to clean at least 5 rooms (that I know of) in order to accomodate us who were waiting to check in.After waiting a half an hour, Daniel returned to check us all in. He was gracious and apologized for the wait and explained that they were short staffed and some of the rooms had not been cleaned. My room (306) was not cleaned (sheets had not been changed) and I mentioned this to Daniel. He wanted to come to clean the room, but people were waiting to check in. I told him there was no need and I appreciated the offer. I told him that it was not his job to clean my room and I just cleaned it myself. As I was cleaning, I discovered that there was toothpaste spit left in the sink. When I turned on the faucet, it detached from the sink and was spewing water all over the place!I stayed at this location last summer and had no issues! Actually, it was Covid Safe! But, this year was a dramatic difference.Daniel needs to be commended and I hope that this location can get their act together to hire a proper cleaning crew to assure that rooms are in order.
Perfect getaway for me and significant other. It was quiet and peaceful. Room was a kings size suite / bed was very comfortable and roomy enough for two people to enjoy a good night sleep. Bathroom was a little small but it served it’s purpose. The only problem I had was that house keeping did not come to clean the room during my stay. I understand this a little due to COVID-19 policies, however felt that th he room should have been cleaned at least once during the 3 nights stay, especially bathroom area. . Pool was not opened/ hotel was being remodeled . Guest should have been offered discount due to the renovations and the inconvenience of not having a pool and lobby area not fully available
Central AC unit in the parking lot made a loud revving noise throughout the entire time (every 5-10 seconds). No hot foods for breakfast -- staff said the ovens were not working, but the online reviews indicate this has been a problem for a few weeks. No answer when I tried to call the front desk 3 times in 20 minutes. None of the staff that I saw were wearing masks. Overall it was not a bad room, but I just expected much more for the price that I paid.
I have stayed in dozes of Holiday Inn Expresses for both work and personal use and this hotel does not meet my expectations for a quality IHG Hotel. My first room was filthy and had a used mask laying on the floor. My second room was not as dirty but stains all over the floor, couch, chairs, lamps...ect. Mind you this was a FRESHLY RENOVATED ROOM! The general attire of the place was dirty floors everywhere. There were many things not working on our stay including 2 ice machines, treadmill, drink dispenser, and elevator. I understand the hotel was being renovated during our stay, but it takes no effort to run a sweeper once a day to make the place look acceptable. The parking lot was full of personal garbage, not to mention the overfilled dumpsters that should have been taken away days ago. I used the lobby bathroom every morning for 3 days and every day there was no soap or towels for your hands! Get it together folks!
I love going to this hotel for my weekend race plans. This year was not as pleasurable as the past. Apparently hotel staff is at a minimum due to people not wanting to work and collect fed benefits. The beds were not made upon my return from the race, towels were not replaced, garbage cans not emptied, cookie crumbs in the hallways, wet floors from the pool area which was also in the elevator floors. I had to assist an elderly gentleman with a cane navigate through the wet floors. The floor above me it sounded like someone slamming a sledgehammer on the floor, this was quickly remedied by front desk hotel staff who were fantastic. These women were great in assisting with all my needs. Give them a raise !!
I have stayed at multiple holiday inns and always choose them because they are reliable. This was NOT the case for this one. The hotel was dirty. From the moment I walked in my room, it felt like everything was just wet. It was extremely loud in the room. The carpet in the hall was disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a month. The bedding was completely wrinkled. When I was waiting in a 6 family deep line to check in, one of the families ahead of us was given a room that someone had already checked into. They went up to their room and into the room to find another families belongings in the room. The pool was cloudy and just looked disgusting. There was basically no food for breakfast and what was there was literally not edible. I am so disappointed i paid to stay in this hotel- I would have been better off in a cardboard box.
I am really disappointed in my overnight stay. We were therefor a wedding and made reservations on May 21, 2021. Reservation was for a king bed with pull out sofa. Upon arrival was given a handicap room, which the lady who checked us in said we would be happy in. Room was dirty and dated. Blood on bathroom floor and bathroom in disrepair.Went down to front desk and asked why we were given a handicap room. Asked why I didn’t get the room we reserved. No answer was given but I was assured that when we returned from the wedding we would get the room we reserved. Returned after wedding at 11:30 pm and was told that there were no king beds available. Had to settle for 2 queen beds and on the 4th floor which was extremely hot and it smelled. Next morning I was told by the front desk that management would call me that day and give me a refund . No one called, so I called after 3 days and was told again the manager would call me but I still haven’t heard from anyone. Very poorly run hotel. I will never return to a Holiday Inn Express again
Upon arrival the lobby was crowded with construction materials and supplies. One of the two elevators was broken down at check-in, and when we returned after dinner both elevators were broken with no notice posted on the previously functional elevator. We were waiting for the elevator to come down to the first floor when another guest informed us that both elevators were broken. The air conditioning on the fourth floor hallway, and stairwell, was not functioning and it was hot and humid. In the room, one of our towels was noticeably dirty and stained. The floor of the tub was also dingy and dirty. The provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash were in large bottles locked in the shower, which we thought was unsanitary and gross (especially with covid-19). We would not recommend this hotelOne of the only things that we liked during our visit were the individually wrapped muffins and waffles for breakfast.
The hotel was very under staffed.I went to check out and a girl was just sitting there and could not help me. I really do not think she worked there. We had to wait for the manager who was making breakfast at the time. Also the breakfast that day was very poor, Nome of the food was on time. I was snot the only one trying to check out at the time. Several times I went to the front office and no one was there. Also I know they were renovating but the hotel was not clean at all. The halls were a mess. However my room was clean.
Slept well, relaxed, swam in pool. Glad pool was indoor. Only 15 min away from shopping. I felt safe and glad to stay at a good chain hotel. The internet was perfect, I was able to get 2 days of work done away from home. Bathroom was clean, good water pressure in the shower. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Good overall experience.
Weekend getaway with the wife.Good friendly and informative staff, cleanliness, good service checking in. Seemed understaffed, yet they get the jobs done quickly and sufficiently.5 minute to wait to get checked in by the front desk attendant who seemed to be putting out fires back to back, treats guests as people not guest.(Multitasking ). Alexandra .Management should consider hiring and giving positions to those who deserve it and do their jobs well.Be considerate to treat hard working people as people. They do their job well if you treat them as so. They do this for their families not just for a paycheck.Helpful cleaning staff. Swimming pool warm ,Some fixtures and mechanics and grounds upkeeping can be attended to a bit more, yet functions well.Breakfast was fair for and has several good dinners minutes away.
The room was clean, but very disappointed in the overall experience for the cost (approx 250). When I went to check in they couldnt find my reservation and then they figured out it was under a different name after I showed them a confirmation email. There was only one very slow elevator working for the entire hotel which with covid restrictions really slowed things down. I was also disappointed there were no mirrors other than a bathroom mirror for getting ready...not one long body mirror in the whole room. Also noted stains on the carpet and just rundown in general. Would not stay here again.
Upon entering the room, due to unsanitary condition, I decided I did not want to stay there. I returned to the front desk and requested to be checked out and have my reward points returned to my account. I was told only the Manager can do it and he would be back in 30 minutes. I waited one hour and he never returned so I left and filed a complaint with IHG Rewards.Over the next few days IHG REWARDS told me twice that they contacted the hotel twice and the manager will be contacting me, which he never did. I also called the front desk and asked who was the manager and they would not give me any information and hung up the telephone. Eventually IHG Rewards refunded me the points. Please note the reviews that the hotel responded to. Of the 18 responses in the past 3 months, 15 of the 18 are signed by 15 different case Managers. Either they have a very large management staff or they like to deceive their customers. If ethics, integrity, and clean rooms are important to you then stay away.
Arrived at the hotel at a reasonable hour. Piles of smoking guests outside-I realize this isn’t the hotels fault. We checked-in with a decent front desk receptionist. Alarmingly, behind us were boxes of building supplies open and laying on the floor begging to be tripped over. The place was dusty from obvious renovations. One elevator didn’t work, who cares right? Get off the elevator, the AC doesn’t work in the hallways. Guests are walking around barefoot. We get to our room and settle in, one of the face wash clothes is visibly dirty, but who care right? get another one…We go out to dinner, come back, both elevators are now broken with no signs indicating such. One of the barefooted guests informs us it’s broken and we have to take the stairs…to the FOURTH floor, with no AC in the stairwell or hallways. We made it, thankfully to our room. Next morning we go get breakfast. Thank goodness the hotel wrapped the bagels individually because they had only one serving spoon for eggs, sausage and more sausage. Didn’t see hand sanitizer anywhere-glad we brought our own. Go to check out, same person from the morning before, and she’s still super friendly. That’s a plus. THE REAL KICKER, when we reviewed on booking.com that the hotel was undergoing some obviously inconvenient renovations and of the general nonsense, THE OWNER replied, “atleast you didn’t have bedbugs 🤷”
Stayed here on June 29th and arrived around 5pm. Check in was easy and Daniel the front desk agent was very nice. He made my stay better. I arrived in the room and housekeeping forgot to put in towels. Daniel had no issues bring them up to me. Well rounded guy. Would stay here again if I have to.
Considering COVID we were hesitant to travel. The hotel itself was clean and every time you stepped into the lobby you could smell the clean. We were able to get extra bedding for the pull out sofa as well as towels and pillows. While we stayed no one cleaned the rooms during the day which in our situation was a good thing as my wife in post transplant and the less exposure the better for her. We did have some issues with the washer/dryer. The unit with soap in it was sold out and not marked as such so it just ate our money. The dryer did not dry even after over an hour of drying and neither were clearly marked for cost. The first night we arrived as we were checking in there was some kind of scuffle in the pool room but beyond that we were happy with the stay. You could tell the pool itself was well chlorinated and the kids enjoyed it since it was inside and raining outside. It was close to good food (we recommend the Triplets Restuarant) and the places we wanted to visit. The staff was helpful and polite.
Ill start with the good first. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Ok, thats all.Bad stuff:They were terribly understaffed and apparently out of rooms for those that had existing reservations. When I got to the hotel at check in 3pm, our room was not ready and wouldnt be for at least another 2 hours. I think I would have let it slide with a 3 or 4 star review if that was all. But wait! Theres more! The hotel was under construction, which accounts for some dust and mess, but there were literal bags of trash stacked up on our floor to greet us right off of the elevator. In the dimly lit elevator well, next to said trash and the loosely affixed exit sign was an old crib, which gave the hotel a very Shining aesthetic. Personally, not my thing, but if youre all about the haunted by undead children vibe, then maybe youll love it.Lastly was the room. The abode was adorned with all the trappings, such as loose wiring, torn up curtains, an abundance of wall scuffs, and gashes in the drywall. All of which reinforced the poltergeist setting. All in all, would not recommend, unless everything Ive just described sounds right up your alley, then live your best life, friend! Everyone else, stay somewhere else 🙂
From what I understand the owner here does not treat his employees properly and the day we arrived the entire staff but one walked out and quit. The woman at the front desk was left with a mess to say the least and it took hours for us to get a clean room and check in although she did her best. After that they had staffing issues but did not affect our stay and our room was nice and comfortable.
No phone in room. No safe in room. Also someone puked in the elevator last night and was not cleaned up for a while, so we were stuck in our rooms or had to use the stairs. EMS showed up in the morning to take someone off to the hospital- hope theyre okay. The place had spotted lantern flies all around it (invasive species)!! Not to mention the amount of cigarette butts laying around on the way in. We are looking for a refund- we always use Holiday Inn Express. This one was by far the worst!
Not sure what the walls are made of, but I could hear neighbors as if they were in the same room. I couldnt sleep because of that! Also, for $300 a night, quality should have been much better than what we received. Broken toiled paper roller, empty shower gel bottle, and old building and furniture. Breakfast was decent though!
Overall my experience at this hotel was great. We just booked the hotel for a 1 night stay to get out of the boredom and stress of everyday issues.. We had a great time and were able to relax. I went with my daughters and my brother and we really enjoyed our stay. We were also able to book a quick activity nearby at Big Screen Escape Room which was absolutely awesome.to do as a family. I recommemd this place if people are.looking for a quick wknd stay either to go to Kalahary or even Great Wolf and dont want to spend too mych at the actual resorts. This hotel is a great substitution to that and save money.
I stayed here for a night, i found out the laundry machines werent working so doing laundry was out of the question but not that big of a problem. My room was great at the beds were very comfortable, the staff was also great and very friendly. Im glad the vending machines were still up. However the fridge in my room wasnt working and there was a strong odor when opening it, someone also drew on the walls, it was the first thing i noticed when i woke up. The shower/tub could also be improved upon. But overall I enjoyed my stay and would come back.
The hotel workers were great. Very nice and welcoming. Went to the room and the bathroom had no soap for the sink so I had to use the body wash all weekend. The tiles on the floor were coming up and scratched my feet and the ceiling was chipped and coming apart. The bed was very comfortable and when i went to go to sleep the toliet was running loudly all night and the people above my room must of had kids running like crazy all night and all the next day. They need more installation or something and to remodel their bathrooms. I had a friend staying 2 rooms down and they even said they heard the running all night and the next day. We were only allowed 2 towel per person so we didnt get in the pool because we wouldnt have another towel to get a shower with afterwards. There was no breakfast like advertised which was why I chose that hotel.
The staff were fine, but the hotel needs maintenance. Carpets were filthy, elevator not working. Cinnamon buns were individually wrapped and dried out.I believe they were trying to do maintenance, but a lower price should be offered as compensation for poor facility conditions.
Upon arrival we were politely greeted by the staff. After checking in we went to check out the room and were quickly disappointed. There was a large stain on the bed spread VERY visible, a lot of hair in the shower and sink( I do understand how hard hair is to clean up). The room also just smelled dirty. We went to the front desk and told them about the issues and the switched rooms no problem. This was the first time I have ever had a issue of this kind with holiday inn Expresses.
Upon our entry, the place was attractive for a quick stay. The clerk was responsive but cool in response, not very welcoming but he was on task. The bathroom had hair in the tub from a previous guest and there were no complimentary toiletries available, make sure you forget nothing. The night shift front desk clerk was accommodating and as helpful as she could be under the current circumstances. There is no night time cleaning staff available, I had to clean the tub. Its okay for a quick stay, not more than one night.
We always stay at Holiday Inn hotels and have NEVER been disappointed until this stay. We were told that we would be able to check in early (due to our flight arrival time). However, when we arrived at the hotel.we were told, I dont know why they told you that but you wont be able to check in until 3 p.m. When we finally checked in, we noticed that the hotel itself was filthyThe pool was murky an I did notice allow my sons to swim. The floors looked like they hadnt been vacuumed in weeks. There was dust everywhere.. The people who worked at the hotel did not look professional at all. It was a MAJOR disappointment and I couldnt wait to leave.
I had a terrible experience during my stay at this hotel. Once my family and I checked in and went into our room we immediately saw that the beds were not made. It looked like people were sleeping on both beds! I immediately left the room to report the issue. We were then switched to another room which was worse! The floor was slippery and carpet was wet. The bed was a lot not made. The bathroom was also dirty. I was not able to find another available room at a hotel nearby so I had no choice but to stay. We were switched back to the original room. The front staff had to change our linens and clean up alittle. They mentioned that house keeping was not available at the time. I felt very uncomfortable staying there and could not get a good nights sleep. I will never go back there!
The rooms were filthy,, stained carpets, hair on the floor in the bathroom, uncomfortable bed. The walls are pretty thin, so when the ac wasn’t running, you could hear the people in the rooms on either side. The breakfast area was managed by only one girl ( who wasn’t wearing a mask). The pancake station was in the same area as the rest of the food choices, so that made the line very slow. Most of the hot food was inedible , and the coffee was very weak. I would never go back to this hotel!
Attempted the leave review and enter to win 25k bonus points but said language was inappropriate not sure what was inappropriate was not even leaving a bad review with bad language. But hotel is undergoing renovations which it needs it is tired but after years of use it’s common for stuff to be broken, light switches, bathroom fixtures, dents in walls ripped carpet. Overall room was pretty clean. The common areas could use a better sweeping especially the pool area. There was a gentleman doing landscaping which helped, lot of trash around the grounds outside. Knowing people who work at a Hyatt I know hotels are hurting for people to work house keeping, house men, and front desk because of the unemployment all the “free money”. Overall I would still stay it should be better after renovations.
Recently booked a room at this hotel was pretty excited to stay. After driving almost two hours to reach the hotel. They informed me the had canceled our reservation due to overlooking which is common practice from this chain. Warn everyone be careful when booking any hotels by this chain cause they will leave you stranded with no help just as they did us.
Terrible visit. We paid way too much per room and the manager wouldn’t answer the phone at the front desk. After walking up to the front desk, she said she’d take care of it. Half an hour later, there was still noise from upstairs and I had to walk back up to the front desk. The same manager said she hadn’t gotten around to it yet, but suggested I should confront the loud hotel guests above us. Mind you, I caught her on the way out the door as she was leaving for a smoke break.
We got there after a long drive. Had a king size suite wit pull out bed. They charged my card which I have never had a holiday inn do because I stay in them all the time because this time I used points. Get in the room its missing the pull out couch. They put me on the first floor after I told them thats not what I ordered even on my preference for hotel stay it says higher floor. There was a electric socket hanging out of the wall. They never came and took care of. The brought us a rollaway cott which fell apart when my daughter was on it and she hit her head. So we had to go buy a blow up air mattress to use. I was not happy with stay the manager would not return my calls or voice mails. Not happy and will not go back
This was my second visit to this property. It is a good value for the price. We were given an accessible room, which is okay because it offers more space. The drawback is that there is no counter space in the bathroom because of the wheelchair accommodation needed. We solved that by using the ironing board with a towel on top. My only complaint is that the sink looked like it hadnt been cleaned or cleaned well. I cleaned it with antibacterial wipes as we checked in late and didnt know when or if someone would come to clean it. Also, why dont hotels have luggage racks in the rooms anymore?
Arrived to a door that looked like someone tried to kick it in,curtains broken and hanging with no hooks, stains in the bathroom, hot tub boarded up, sheet next to the plastic hard mattress, dim lighting. Holiday Inn Express, you can do better!! Staff was very kind but would not refund our money.
Room had a vibration on the floor from some machine running. Air conditioner was not quiet. Checking was terrible. Staff for breakfast was terrible and not available. Was told it was normal breakfast with buffet style and back to normal, but definitely not a normal HIEX breakfast. Pancake machine had error and front desk said it hasnt been working properly. Breakfast attendant was absent and once he came back, he appeared to have no clue how to fix it. Took like 10 min. to warm up and then he had never even put batter in it. Drink machine wasnt up and running, and had to use small sealed cups of juice when told that everything was back to normal, I dont think so. The bathroom was clean, but you could see tile falling off and some aging. Also, for looking like a new and refurbished hotel, it had no USB charging ports at all in the room.
The property is tired, and could be a lot better. The staff needs to focus on cleanliness inside and out. Customer service needs improvement as well. The staff appears to be tired as well. They do not seem happy to be there. It’s in a fairly good and convenient location, but they have let the property go. I would perhaps stay again if and when they renovate the property, but inside and outside cleanliness should never be an issue whether the property is old or not. My shower handle was broken, and it most likely requires a complete replacement, but being that the staff was not very friendly or accommodating, I just managed it during my stay. It’s something that the staff should have picked up on, as it was nearly impossible to turn on and off.
This hotel has great staff. They are friendly and willing to help. The bed was a bit firm for our liking and the only soap offered to wash our hands was face soap. When we inquired the friendly front desk clerk told us that was all they had and we could use some shower gel to wash our hands. Odd but it was fine. Very spacious room. Friendly staff. Nice stay overall.
I stayed at this hotel for Memorial Day weekend. The worse experience ever. Our room had roaches and the room was dirty. I had to go down to the front desk and get some cleaning supplies to go clean up the room. The only reason we didnt leave is because a lot of other Hotels was sold out. The only thing that was close to decent was that the beds was made. Today before checking out. I got injured by a piece of metal that was sticking out of the side of bed. I got rushed the hospital. I ended up hurt from my stay here. I wont ever go back there ever again. Dont waste your money or time.
Rooms were old and dated. Room was not fully cleaned. Tea bags in coffee maker for an example. Room did have good access to outlets. Lot of different stile pillows.I waited in line for the food and that ran out. Had to wait 25 after telling front desk. Still did not have plates to grabed a foam bowl. The plastic ware was so week it broke off in the food. The eggs tested bad and were obviously reheated from frozen.
First night was given handicap room worst night sleep I ever had. The bed was broken & my daughter & I stacked up pillows down the middle of mattress to keep from rolling into center of bed. I was told manager could give me a refund by $200 & that did not happen. 2nd night we moved rooms 2 queen beds thank you Tara.
The location is good and customer service was great. However, you could tell that housekeeping doesn’t do a good job. There was trash under the beds from prior guests and we did not have housekeeping clean our room on any of the nights that we stayed. I could understand if it’s different because of covid or because it was Christmas but we should have been told that there was not going to be turn down service. The breakfast was minimal. Muffins, bagels or bread so don’t count on eating breakfast at the hotel. The pool and gym were closed due to covid restrictions. I thought I’d be able to charge my electric car from the light posts according to plug share app but that did not work. I recommend installing a destination charger to draw EV owners. If they solve the housekeeping issue and once covid passes, I’m sure this would be a great place to stay.
Nice staff, clean room, breakfast was ok. The bed was comfortable, gym was clean. My only issues were that you could not reach CS none of the phones worked, elevator was a little jumpy and there were no extra sheets for the sofa bed. Had to take the elevator down to get them
It was just not what I expected. normally i stay at the StayBridge suites near this Holiday Inn however they were booked. There were just amenities that I expected that was not there. to say the least for the lengthy check in time at the front desk. I also notice and out of order sign on one of the elevator. The room rate was exorbitant for the quality of the room.
Most unclean hotel I have ever stayed in. The common areas were not clean. Floors were not swept. Carpet was not vacuumed. Common areas were filthy. Coffee bar was very unclean. Coffee stirrers were stuck together. Room bathroom had open and partially used lotion bottle
I had to rooms for two nights, the furniture was worn and dirty the rooms were dirty floors furniture and bathroom. The lobby was not relaxing or inviting it looked shabby. The outside of the hotel was in good shape but we didn’t even have a fresh roll of toilet paper or extra roll or anything. I found a toothbrush on the floor in the bathroom. The conditioner was empty and I could go on ... oh and we decided to just go to breakfast at trivets down the street due to the fact that the breakfast was poorly stocked. They offered pancakes and there was no syrup both days ... I could go on
We had a very good sleep since the bed was super comfy. The overall cleanliness was satisfactory. We have no complaint unless the breakfast options which were poor in quality and variability. We felt bad to find mold in french toast inspite of individual wrapping. We have been staying in Holiday Inn and its sister properties for last 8 years whenever we need accomodation for vacation/business therefore expected better!
Positive: bad experience Negative: I booked a handicap room, however we were told that no handicap room was available, we had to settle for a regular room. My wife had to suffer going to the bathroom or taking a shower since no support bar were available. we did not get what we paid for.
Being a business traveler, I have stayed at many HIEs. This is my second visit here. This remodeled hotel is very nice. Friendly staff and a special shoutout to Eric the breakfast man! He is a true professional! Ive learned included breakfast is usually a meteokre experience at best. Eric takes it to the next level! Coffee, presentation and quality of the food, definitely the best out of any HIE I have visited. I will be back!
Ice machine broken 1st floor for 6 weeksWash machine broken for six weeks. Had to go in town to do laundry. No toilet paper rollers in the bathroom.Very poor construction, could hear people running and walking above my room for hours while trying to sleep.Wallpaper bubbling in MANY placesNight stand wood was all crackedHard to get fresh towelsNo bars of soap at times. I was handed face wash instead.Elevators were broken at times.Only one day of hot breakfastCleaned my room and didnt even vacuum.
Worst holiday inn express Ive ever been to. Very out dated. Room was dirty, we stay in holiday inn express atleast 2 to 3 times a week and this one by far is the worst. If the maids are not cleaning up the rooms then management should go behind them and check.. negative stars..
Check in was 3pm got to location at 5:15pm and room was not ready. Had to wait 30 minutes to.be able to go to room. Bathroom floor was tile and uneven. TV remote did not work. Light switch in bathroom worked at times and didnt work had to wiggle it. On 3rd day of stay had no milk at breakfast and 4th day the pancake machine was out of order due to had no bstter. Staff was very helpful. (Check in.staff and oriental lady at breakfast bar. Would not recommend this hotel and have second thoughts about returning myself.
The room was dirty because there was food around the bed that was not vacuumed. When we went to the pool, there were no clean towels and dirty towels laying all around. The breakfast was just cold cereal and muffin she, no hot food or even bread for toast. For the cost of this hotel, I expected more and will not stay here again.
Worst place in a while. I am the highest status you can be with holiday inn brand. I booked a reservation online. It got approved, confirmation and everything. I pull up .. Doors are locked. I call the desk using the hotel phone outside of the lobby. No one picked up. Called there business line. A women picks up. She says they are at full capacity. I told her I booked a reservation and they told me I have a room waiting for me. She then hung up the phone. I called again. Knocked on the window. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Finally the women picks up again being rude. Wouldnt come to the door so I can show her proof of the confirmation and discusse what the next actual step to take as they already put a hold on my car for the room. Then threatens to call her boyfriend. 10 mins later the bf arrives. Me not knowing I asked if he can let me in. He said no he cant. He works there also. We then started to exchange words ... Not in a good way. He has a ankle monitor on his foot. He probably shouldnt of even been out after hours. Cops where either called or just doing a drive by. Long story short .. I wasnt able to stay there. I had to find a new hotel. I dislike the way they conduct business here. If I could give it a negative rating I would. And its sad because like I said. I am the highest status you can be in there ranking. My company deals with holiday inn, marriot and hilton propertys. We spend a lot of money with them, and to get this kid of service is highly absurd! Highly dislike this lo
Overall it was a good stay and experience while I was there. I stayed 3 nights and went for leisure reasons. They have a couple of different options for breakfast but not always. I went down to eat one day and there were so many things from pancakes to eggs. The next day there were only bagels. The staff is very friendly, the only concern would be the dust in the rooms. It just seems like the cleaning service doesn’t do a decent job
The hotel was fine and a good price if your looking for a basic hotel stay. The beds and linens were all comfortable and clean. The room decor was comfortable and tasteful. The bathroom and pool area definitely could use some attention. I was disappointed by how dirty the pool looked so our family didn’t even bother to use it and the tub in our room looked stained and was dripping. The free breakfast had a nice variety of foods to choose from and the women at the breakfast service area was always so friendly, constantly restocking the food and checking to see that everyone was okay. If your just looking for a tasteful, clean room and a safe feeling hotel at a reasonable price then this hotel would be fine.
1 Star Hotel with a 5 Star StaffFirst, we had cancelled one day due to employment issues which meant we arrived a day later than expected. The room we reserved was not cleaned that day. We ended up being given another room which was in terrible condition (see pictures from bathroom). The next day we were moved to the correct room. Better condition but not what I have come to expect from Holiday Inn. Both rooms seemed dingy and in need of remodeling. Neither room had hard chairs and only one had a soft chair. Both were handicapped accessible but still no where to sit and use a computer or eat at the table. Staff did accommodate us and brought up two chairs. I requested the specific room due to it having a walk-in shower. Neither room had any interior decorations nor did either bathroom have any counter space. I am guessing that even someone in a wheel chair would need some counter space and especially if they are traveling with someone not handicapped. The cable was terrible. Most of the time only half the channels were watchable because the other half pixelated and froze. Only one elevator worked but it wasn’t busy so it wasn’t an issue for us. The staff did everything they could possibly due to make us comfortable and provide every service possible. They were the best thing at this hotel. Now I am questioning future stays with Holiday Inn Express.
Service was wonderful, made a pit stop to sleep here driving through from Michigan. Daniel the front desk man was very friendly and helpful with directions and ideas for things to do for the day. The hot breakfast was an A+ in the morning & the pool and game room were a hit to kill time for traveling kids.
I stayed one night at the Stroudsburg Holiday Inn Express, for business. The morning I left for my business. I had realized that I had forgotten my stainless steel coffee cup in the room. I returned roughly around 3:30pm to see if it had been found. The woman at the desk told me that the room had already been inspected and cleaned and that nothing was turned in at the desk. A woman (possibly supervisor) stepped from behind a partition and said that if it was found that it would have been turned in to the desk. When I challenged that, she then changed her story to say that with covid it probably got thrown out. Regardless of the end result, the item was left in the room, whether it was discarded or whatever else may have happened to it, I would presume that ALL articles found by housekeeping are documented to the desk prior to being discarded. Ironically, the coffee cup is unique with a company logo and intended for a select few individuals. The cup isnt that important but the way it was handled was very poor.
If you are looking for a clean and well kept hotel this is not your place. , The front desk staff was friendly and the prepackaged continental breakfast was ok but the rooms were disgusting and in need of deep cleaning and repairs. The floors,, curtains,, furniture and wall paper were dingy and falling apart. We checked in close to midnight and was prepared to check out soon after.. Since it was an overnight stay we sucked it up,, slept in our clothes and left for the resort first thing in the morning..
There was a shortage of staff members on arrival and through out our stay. However those present at the time did an excellent job especially front desk worker Alexandra and Kitchen helper Lina. also the cleaning staff were efficient and as quickly as possible although there was a shortage in staff. Alexandra went above and beyond the call of duty.
Hotel stay ddnt break the bank. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The bathroom needs to be redone but was clean. Breakfast wasnt good. Cold eggs and sausages in styrofoam packaging. Pancake maker wasnt working so we cldnt get any. Staff was nice and informative during our stay. Free parking. About 15 min. from Shawnee mountains. Nice and convenient.
Extremely Disappointed. No authorized/trained staff upon arrival, gave away our room; even though we had confirmation number and secured the room 1 month in advance and notified hotel of our late arrival. Acting GM’s (“Amy”) daughter (approximately 16 YOA) manning front desk, no experience and unable to process refund. Hotel has never called us to rectify the situation and charged us for 1 nights stay.
All staffs were very kind. Rooms were very clean. Free breakfast always awesome for being ready for the day. The heater was very loud so that I could not sleep well. It would be great if usb chargers are equipped in the nightstand. But I always love staying in holiday inn express. The quality of service of the brand is always as expected whereever I stay. High quality with reasonable price.
Horrible. I could understand this HI is under renovation and the place will look crazy. This is the worst HI i have ever stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lack of attention to detail in the rooms has no excuse. It makes me wonder what else they miss in cleaning the rooms. I have been to other hotels that were under renovation and they looked way cleaner. The pictures says it all.
Hotel was understaffed and unprepared for the holiday rush and a wedding party. There was only one person at the desk at check in and this is the same person that had to clean unprepared rooms. It was just awful. Hats off to the single staff member. She did her best.
With a little improvement, I will be back. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very large which helps feeling comfortable and relaxed. The room / bedding / hot tub did have a slight musty odor. But I was confident that the room / Bedding / hot tub were clean, but maybe that room had not been utilized for a few days / weeks. I have stayed at other hotels in the area, but I will now only return to the Holiday Inn - Stroudsburg.
Have linens and towels available. When I asked for sheets for the full size sleeper bed my kids were supposed to sleep on...I was told, sorry we dont have any. Have more than 1 employee working... I waited at the front desk for over 20 minutes for someone to show up. Our toilet was clogged in the room, no maintenance folks available. Again, told sorry. I had to ask the young man at the front desk to bring me a plunger and I plunged the toilet myself. The plumbing was so poor, it clogged 3 more times over 2 1/2 day period and guess who plunged it... you it.. me. I stay with IHG when I travel, most of the employees at our Fortune 500 do as well. Would I recommend HIE - definitely not. Even worse, based on the fact there was no-one available to address our specific issues - your employee too was set up for failure.
I must say, I come to visit my kids in Tobyhanna, PA very often. I usually stay at their house but wanted to do something a little different because I am healing through certain traumas. This Holiday Inn, reminded me that its OKAY and NECESSARY for me to relax and just let go of all the stressors around me. With minimal outside and literally no noise disturbances from neighbors, I couldnt have picked a better location. I wanted to enjoy the pool as well but ended up nestling into the bed so comfy, it completely slipped my mind!! Loll but no worries I will DEFINITELY be back and very soon!!. Once a month sounds like the self care I need!!!!Thank you so much Holiday Inn and thank you Lyric at the front desk for suck a warm and bubbly welcoming!!
I was surprised at how messy it was. First of all, the furniture and bedding basically smelled of dust. The toilet even had urine marks, so I had to clean the toilet first before I arrived and unpacked it. My son should have used the bathroom. I chose this place because of the pool facilities, but there were cereal spills on the floor and not enough towels. Even when I went the next morning, I was really disappointed to see the cereals on the floor.
I am currently a student at Cornell University’s Hotel School and have been been numerous hotels around the world, and this has been one of the most hospitable experiences of my life. We were on facing an emergency with our car and had to stop at the holiday and stay the night. Frenchie at the front desk helped figure out the problem and lead us to our room. The next morning he was still there and had called every mechanic in town and had already made an appointment with the local midas. After 5 hours in the mechanic Frenchie paid us a visit to check up on us even after we checked out. Never have I had such attention.
Stayed for one night. Spoke to hotel staff over phone and was told they only had one room left which was a king suite. I told her I was coming with 3 people. She said no problem, it had a pull out couch. Also stated that they normally charge “so much more” for this room but would give it to me at the reduced price of a regular room. When I arrived and got to room it was an accessible room and not the king suite I was told I was booked for. I explained to the front desk that this was not the room I was told I would be receiving and she said there was nothing she could do . There was no couch, 3 of us had to sleep in one bed. Bathroom was a horror. Tile was falling apart, sink was gross. There was makeup all over my pillow case in the bed. Other guests were so loud my walls were shaking until 1am.
Arrived late at night and was welcomed by Casandra. She assisted in checking me in promptly and helped me find directions to my event for the morning. Very professional. Room was clean, breakfast was okay, but I would suggest getting non pork breakfast items. Everything else was great
Hotel was disgusting. Room was not cleaned, we found jelly beans and used mask on floor. Dust all over. Toilet was clogged. The soap dispensers were empty and lock was broken. Breakfast area was dirty and was left dirty till night time. Only 1 staff in the whole member in the evening. Staff was overworked. In this time where cleanliness is so important to avoid transmission of diseases, the management of this hotel has disregarded all measures to keep hotel clean.
The room was still dirty, due to COVID we brought are on Clorox wipe. And all so there was bottle caps left on the floor my two year old was picking up. And bathroom was not cleaned from previous people . And so fake nails and eye lashes laid by the pool area. I used to always want to stay in holiday inns. But over the last couple times we have stayed in one, thinking this will be my last choice
In March 2020 I arrived in NYC after evacuating South Africa at the beginning of the pandemic. Rented a car with a few days drive ahead of me to get home to family. Was exhausted and stressed. I stopped to quarantine for a few days off the freeway and ended up here at this Holiday Inn in Stroudsburg. During the beginning of such a scary, uncertain time I have to say that the staff was absolutely amazing, calm, and so kind and helpful. They felt like family! Very good people work here. This is the epitome of hospitality. I wish I could rate 10 stars.
The good: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and comfortable. Very nicely decorated. Breakfast was awesome. The bad: Found things on the floor (toe nails, bobbypin, wads of hair) which said the cleaning wasnt stellar. Lotion in the bathroom had clearly been used and not replaced. The little things make you question the overall cleanliness of the room. My girlfriend wont let me install a waterfall wall like they have in the lobby so Im jealous.
The beds were comfortable, and the room was as youd come to expect from hix. The bathroom, while clean, could use some updating to be more comfortable to use. The one issue we had was, coming back to the room around 3:30 after sightseeing. The room had not been cleaned. I called the front desk and asked to have our towels refreshed and said that they could skip the room cleaning. 2 hours later we still had not received towels. Housekeeping had worked all around us and across the hall from us but did not even knock on our door. I finally was able to get towels from a housekeeper, at 5:30. Our afternoon plans needed to be revised.
This is the first time I have had poor service with the IHG affiliation. On 21 May, 2021; I reserved a reservation for this hotel for the dates 25-28 June, 2021. On the 25th our scheduled check-in day, I made several attempts to call the hotel to notify them that we would be arriving late; however I was not able to get a hold of anyone, I was not able to leave a voicemail as the mailbox was full; I also attempted to call different numbers for the hotel with the same result; my calls to the hotel started around 5 p.m. That evening while we we are in route (around 10 P.M.) to the hotel, I received a call from the hotel asking if we would still need our room. NOTE: NASCAR was having a double header race at Pocono Raceway; which we had tickets to attend and celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. While on the phone with the hotel receiptionist, I stressed that YES, we are still coming and mentioned my futile attempts to notify them earlier of our late arrival. She apologized and stated that she would have our room key ready for us when we arrive and that we should not have to worry about anything. Our arrival: Approximately @ 01:00 a.m, we arrived at the hotel (after a 3 hr drive). I went to check in; the individual at the front desk was approximately 16 yrs of age (by appearance), asked me my name; she said she had no reservation for me (you can appreciate my facial expression). I told her I had a confirmation number and proceeded to provide her the number; that’s when she informed me that she was in training and that she didn’t know how to look it up and would have to call her mother “AMY” who was the acting general manager; she called her mother; mom walked her through it and magically our reservation appeared. At no time did the general manager attempt to speak to me or my husband over the cell phone which her daughter called her on. You would think this is where the story ends; nope it gets worse. The in-training daughter, had some difficulty keying the room key, but was eventually “successful”; we goto our room and the key doesn’t work it turned “yellow”, I have stayed at enough IHG hotels to know what that means; but we were still hopeful; the daughter called her mom again, the mom said the door reader’s battery was bad and for her to call maintenance. Now we wait for maintenance to show up; so now it’s been about an hour (0:200 a.m.). Maintenance does his thing, but has to use his master key… low and behold, the internal safety lock is secured. They gave us an occupied room. We go back to daughter at front desk and are now informed that they are 100% booked. I now am calling IHG guest relations; guest relations took my information and my complaint, guest relations attempts to call hotel to validate what I have told them. As I am on hold, I can see now why no one can get through to the hotel; the daughter is transferring the phone calls straight to voicemail, and she had turned the ringer off; the maintenance guy turned it on with volume up while we were there. The daughter stated that her mother instructed her not to answer the phone, it is now almost 03:00 a.m.; we are told that her mother would be in for her shift soon…as you can imagine we are done. I asked for a cancellation due to no room availability areceipt, anything, the daughter stated she couldn’t do any of those actions, it had to be her mother. My husband Robert left his POC information and requested that her mother call us back when she gets in. We drove an hour, to stay at a family members home. We never received a call back from the hotel/IHG guest relations. I called around 11:00 a.m. on 26 JUN and finally spoke with “AMY” she acted surprised but glad that we called; stating she had no way to contact us as her daughter didn’t write down our confirmation - said I would be reimbursed the full amount; we were charged 1 nights stay…full reimbursement is still pending!
Let me 1st say the customer service rep were nice. The rooms were not too clean. I had room 107 and 109. On that end was a terrible smell of mildew. The room 107 had coffee stains and coffee stirs as well as old food on the floor. The bed linen had fuzzies as if the sheets were worn out. The bathroom under the sick had dust about an inch high. When I looked further down I noticed spackle on the wall where they forgot to paint. I was truly disappointed with cleanliness of the room. The breakfast was horrible, there was no cream, half and half for coffee they only had 2% milk in small cartons which felt like they were not refrigerated. You could not tell the workers from.outside people as they were not dressed as if they worked at the hotel. I dont believe I will ever stay at that location, I am so skeptical about staying at other locations based on this experience. Thank you
We have stayed at this property many times it is in a convenient location to visit our family! Always clean friendly atmosphere! I know that because of covid19 you could not have your usual excellent breakfast, but was disappointed that all there was at 9 am when I got there was a few pieces of bread and 3 bagels to choose from. All were individually wrapped, would have liked to have some baked goods to choose from even some fruit. Will definitely stay here again
That me say that due to covid we understand that a normal stay is not typical right now, and that we understand that certain precautions must be put in place. However, we got to out room, At first Glance it appeared clean, neat. We did notice some things that were pretty concerning. There was scotch tape stuck all over the ceiling and side walls. Looked like previous party may have hung things from the walls. Bathtub had a lot of mildew and toilet was in need of a deep bleaching. Lotion and other toiletries were empty or half used And no extra toilet paper. My husband had to go down to get a roll. Coffee bar in the room, the packaging was opened and items missing such as the coffee stirs. Windows were dirty with hand prints and nightstand was beyond needing a good wipe down. The room simply was not cleaned throughly. Now, I had called prior to booking to make sure the pool was open and that the breakfast was being served. Pool was opened. We enjoyed. But that “continental breakfast” was pathetic. Bagels and some oranges in a bowel is not why I payed extra money to stay here. No drinks??? No protein source???Up your game. You may not be able to do a hot bar, but there are many addition items that could be put on there for grab andgo. And the thing is I called ahead and asked and the lady assured me everything was up and good to go. So it was quite a shock Sunday morning that I could give my kids a decent breakfast before leaving.
The carpet in the room was very dirty with pieces of food on the floor. Front desk gave us a vacuum that did nothing. Didn’t see anyone disinfecting the areas in the lobby and breakfast/ coffee. Staff was very unfriendly. No hot water after 8pm. The hotel looks good, with nice furniture, but the management is poor...
To whom it may concern I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Stroudsburg, Pa on September 26, 2020.When I got to my room, I noticed there was only ONE bath towel in the bathroom! I called the front desk to advise them and was told there was a shortage of towels and I couldn’t have more. I then went to the pool area for an hour. After returning to my room I called the front desk to advise them of my towel issue and again was told of a towel shortage. After an hour I left the hotel to get something to eat. While exiting the elevator on the first floor I noticed a pile of use towels in the vending machine area to the right as I was exiting the elevator. I advise the front desk staff of the towels as I left. When I arrived back at the hotel after 45 minutes I saw the same pile of towels in the same location as I was entering the elevator. At breakfast I asked again and was told again, no extra towels. I have always preferred staying at Holiday Inn Express hotels. I am very disappointed with this stay. I was in room 324. My confirmation number for the reservation was 29789435. Please respond.
I stayed here with my family on Labor Day weekend. I felt really happy to have had access to the pool and gym. Breakfast was provided for self help grab and go. Or optional to sit while practice social distancing. I received extra towels and supplies went I asked. Location is great and close distance from Kalahari, Greatwolf lodge and Camel Back. Premium outlets is 16 mins away.I’ll definitely return again and recommend.
Our room was very dirty. There was dried food on the carpet and dirt on the tile area in the entry. The ceiling had tape on it in various spots, which had me wondering if there had been a party in the room previously. We had stopped in Stroudsburg on our way to New Jersey to relax and let the kids swim. We thought with the pandemic, that the place would be cleaned with more care. It was hard to relax and the kids came back from the pool with sand in their suits?! I don’t ever leave reviews and didn’t complain while we were there, but I got a couple emails asking for a review and thought I’m would share. It was disappointing all around.
Great price and comfort. Only criticism is that the pool was cloudy. I wanted to go in but I decided not to. Later in my stay, I saw a new pool filter had been delivered and was in the the lobby so evidently they were actively working on a solution. Breakfast was lame, but it is a covid year so completely understandable.

2022-04-26Stayed one night and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was excellent, friendly and efficient. The room was quiet, clean, and plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was a small glitch with my AC (not working) however I came back to the room too late and didnt bother calling desk to address it. Other than that, everything was pleasant and I would stay here again.

2022-03-23I stayed here because it was convenient jump from the highway. It had a clean parking lot, that was my first take. I was greeted my the front desk staff and manager. They seem to renovating which is fine, rooms were comfy, breakfast was good compared to other brands, server moved from table to table asking of we needed anything- who does that this time and age of quick breakfast. I travel frequently and I will always stay with the Holiday Inn brand.I met some interesting travellers who had the same feeling. Maintain the level of service.

2022-04-30The breakfast here is delicious. The bacon is fresh and crispy. The coffee, eggs, pancakes and orange juice are yummy as well. The staff is really friendly and even tho the place being renovated it’s clean. It looks like a brand new building. They do need more fresh fruit. Good job. Recommend.

2022-02-05This has to be by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Rooms definitely aren’t clean…. One elevator out of order so you have to wait forever. The staff at the desk when we checked in were totally rude. The only thing I enjoyed was the breakfast. That was good and my kids enjoyed the pool. For a holiday inn I expected more.

2022-01-18The staff was nice and very helpful, the breakfast was good with lots of options. However our room was not clean. There were wrappers on the floor and other particles. I also found hair in the bed and the shower. The body wash in the shower was empty. Cleaning in both the room and common areas could have been much better

2022-04-10Leaving room for improvement; the staff is placed in an impossible position to perform duties as hotel staff AND project management for current IHG renovations that are occurring in mass at multiple parts of the property.Staff provided the best dinner recommendations and were responsive and knowledgeable. This property is on par with most 4 star places I have stayed, but the staff ensured that if I could give 5 stars I would. Maybe post-renovation....

2022-04-07We have stayed at this property countless times over the years since it was new. Sadly, the overall quality had slipped the past two years, but now they are back, better than ever.First, let me cite friendly and helpful Anita, at the front desk. A good beginning.Second, and this really matters, the rooms were undergoing remodeling. This happens, and we have had experience staying at other properties undergoing work. But this was very different. In this care, all the skilled workmen were friendly, helpful and clearly concerned about our comfort and welfare. This is extraordinary.Well be staying there again later this month, and I look forward to it.

2022-02-27Loved my stay there! Everything was clean, and I got all the toiletries that I needed for my stay there. My guests and myself even ran out of toilet paper while we were there, and Beth was prompt with getting replacements, as well as was she attentive to the rest of our needs while we were there. I definitely would stay again!

2022-02-27Horrible stay. I booked this hotel so my family and I could attend my fathers funeral. I called prior to booking to make sure we could get late checkout I said 12 or 1pm on the phone it was no problem. After booking I verified the late checkout and still no problem. We arrived and they told us not only could we not extend our checkout but checkout was 10 and not 11. Signs said 11 but nope she was clear checkout was 10am.Other then that which for this situation it was a big deal to me - not only did I get to get 3 kids ready early I needs to get everything packed up and into the car before a difficult day ahead. I stayed at this hotel last year and it was great. Everything was clean. People were friendly. Unfortunately after this trips experience I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and I definitely never stay here again.
