Truly terrible company. I have a suspicion that nobody would ever use Hotwire if they werent locked into it by their HOA or Apartment Complex, and I hope every company that chooses Hotwire goes out of business for their awful choices. The service is extremely overpriced for what you get, which is slow internet speeds and very few channels.I didnt have internet for almost a week once because they only have one technician servicing my entire apartment complex of hundreds of people, and they will not let you self service on anything. I had Cox for 2 years and never once had to have a technician come to my house. In the first month of Hotwire, I had to have someone come 5 times. They claim on their website that you wont have to buy any new equipment, but this was a lie, as the technician told me I had to buy a new router. The cable box they set up from me did not have on demand or internet connectivity at all. I searched for the model number online and found forum posts about it dating back to 2011, so they tried to charge me more than what one of the big companies would charge for equipment nearly a decade old. When I talked to support to fix this they tried to charge me over $200 to upgrade to modern hardware. After over an hour chatting with them, they finally agreed to wave the fee for the upgraded equipment (but what about the people who didnt have the patience to argue with them for an hour?), and this is where they finally achieved their peak. This was the pinnacle of incompetence that the companys founder was surely aspiring to when he created this abomination of a company. To upgrade my service I would need two pieces of equipment, but they cannot be installed at the same time. I needed to schedule one technician visit to install the first piece, then have support activate that piece before they can order the second piece and have a technician install that. None of this, of course, can be self service, despite every other cable company in the developed world allowing you to install your own equipment. If you ever have a choice of Hotwire or another company, choose the other company, because no matter how terrible they are, they will never come close to the misery that is Hotwire.
Since it appears my call will never get off this hour-long hold, maybe this will reach someone in customer service (you seem to have an employee solely assigned to addressing the multitude of bad reviews so figured I would try my luck on here).I have never experienced such poor internet service from ANY provider. The second I see a rain drop (or when there’s a gust of wind, as this isn’t the only time the WiFi will go out), I brace for the immanent weeklong outage that will begin and cost data overages for using my mobile hotspot to get my work done (especially during a pandemic when most of us are home).I totally understand that storms are inevitable, but to 1. Fail to return service quickly and 2. Not even provide an ESTIMATE as to when service will be restored is just unacceptable. Apartment complex contracts keep this company afloat, and most of them house graduate students in the area. Many are advising new students to not rent at a Hotwire apartment, especially with classes going at least partially online for the fall. Improve the placement of your wires and boost your customer service, or I will be doing what I can to advise against becoming a Hotwire customer.
Awful. They do not arrive when they say they will and it takes multiple trips to simply get the internet installed. If we had a choice we would not be using Hotwire. Customer service is atrocious. Every single time I call im put on hold for an hour and then they promise to call me back but never do. Any other company that treated their customers like this would be out of business but they latched on to our apartment complex as the only choice. They do not care about their customers. I would think twice before Moving to a community if Hotwire is the only option.
My fiance submitted a review 2 days ago. Our issues are STILL unresolved. I have spent 5 hours on the phone with Hotwire plus additional time chatting with a rep online in the past week. 19 calls. I got different answers for multiple questions that I asked. Can I set up internet myself? Yes. Actually no. Well usually, but not this time. Can I upgrade my speeds remotely? Absolutely. Tech is coming Thursday. I thought I could do it remotely. Oh yes sorry it got put in wrong. It will be up in 24 hours. Oh wait, now theres a tech knocking at my door to do it in person. How about cable? Oh you have to call Directv for that. (Another 30 minute call to Directv to tell me to call Hotwire). Lets try this again. Im trying to get cable. The tech will call you tomorrow. No call. Hey can I get cable? Oh sure...actually, cant do it. Let me transfer you to Directv. Seems like maybe the last resident still has an active account. Youll have to call them and tell them to cancel. Um what? Try hotwire again. Okay thats easy, lets get the tech scheduled. They can come out in 3 weeks. Never the same answer twice. Complaints and requests to speak to a supervisor never seem to be followed up on (except the one time when the woman assured me an additional port could be activated remotely - this was incorrect). Phone calls that Im told to expect never come. I wake up with the damn hold music stuck in my head. It should not be this hard to get service!!
I had this service in 2017 when I was in my previous apartment. The service is the worst ever. Being an network engineer who have help build cable and telecom services for Comcast, Time Warner, Bright House and Verizon, I know for a fact that this is a low quality service. Also, they tried to charge me for services I didnt receive do to it constantly being out and having to be serviced. They then sent me to a collections agency for $651.00 that Ive been disputing for over 2 years now, even though they know they are in the wrong.
Internet has been out for 3 days during a pandemic when work from home is mandatory. No communication at all from Hotwire on when the service will be back. Even when the service is on it’s slow and you barely get the megs you’re paying for. This service is beyond awful.EDIT: Google reviews seems to be Hotwire’s preferred method of communication for some reason. I emailed the address provided to me 2 days ago with still no response. We have been without internet for 5 days now, missing time from work. When can we expect Hotwire to take action to correct this problem? This is beyond frustrating considering we are paying for a service we’re not even getting.
HORRIBLE SERVICE & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We scheduled an appointment for a tech to pick our cable boxes from our apartments because we were moving out. A tech came out a day early, while we were at work. This past week, we called 5 times to try to re-schedule a technician to come back and pick up the cable boxes. Now that we are moved out of the premises, Hotwire is insisting that we pay out of pocket to mail the boxes back to their Florida location. This has been the absolute worst customer service we have EVER experienced with any type of service. We have done absolutely everything we could on our end to get a technician to come back out to our apartment while we were still there, and NOT ONE PERSON had the decency to call us back and make this right. Now, a week later, were being told that although it was Hotwire who dropped the ball, we have to pay out of pocket to mail the boxes back. This is completely unacceptable on all accounts.
I wish I could give this sorry company zero stars. They’re by far the worst internet company I have ever dealt with. I’ve had problems since day one when we first moved into our house with the tech coming out and asked if I had a router. He informed me that I was either supposed to have my own or rent one from Hotwire. None of which I was told when I spoke to 5 different people making my appointment. I ended up spending my own money for a router. I’ve had my internet drop for no reason. I can’t ever connect, live streaming anything is a joke and consistently shuts down. I don’t even know how this pathetic company is still in business. Again today my internet is down and the rep tells me that if it’s not a Hotwire issue, I will have to pay a fee. They can go left with that. I’ve had issues since the first day with this company. There’s absolutely no way I will pay a fee to this place for their mediocre service. It’s unfortunate that this company is the only service for my area. Garbage!
Horrible customer service. I had my internet installed by a tech who left my apartment prior to the internet working. He said wait 20-30 minutes and it will be working. No surprise after a few hours nothing. I called back and they said the tech had to leave due to an emergency which is a complete lie. The tech told me the job was finished and he left in no particular hurry. Next day I schedule to get another tech to come and lo and behold no one showed up. I call again and they told me that someone will be there in 30 minutes. Currently been about an hour so I decided to write this review while I pray someone will come and install my internet properly. If you have any choice never, ever get Hotwire unfortunately I am stuck with this as my only option at my apartment
Unfortunately, I cant give this company 0 stars. I had to use this company, since it was the only one compatible with my apartment building. I told them early on when I would be leaving and they said that as long as I moved somewhere that hotwire could not be installed, I did not have to pay a termination fee. When the time came, I notified them that I would be moving in with my parents. They asked for the deed and my driver license to confirm that was my home address. I sent it in and all was well. TWO YEARS LATER, I get a call from a collection agency stating that I owed hotwire 400$. I called and they said it was because I didnt pay my bills. I proved that I did, they apologized, said it was their mistake, and they would call the collection agency informing them that this was a mistake and it will be resolved in 24-48 hrs. They also asked for a current lease with my name on it, which I sent them. I called back 2-3 weeks later since no one ever got back to me. They said that I owed the money for early termination. I explained what happened 2 years ago, they asked if I still had a copy of that email, which I did. Their reply was Oh, the other person assumed your name would be on the deed. They are still insisting that I owed the money. This company is a joke.I would not recommend them to anyone. Stay away!!!
Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We got our internet on the 3rd of July. Internet went out on the 5th of July. 10 days later we still have no internet. No one in customer service call center can help. Asked to speak to management. Management isn’t available. Asked to speak to tech support. Tech support doesn’t have a phone number. What in the world kind of company doesn’t have phone numbers for different departments? Of course covid. 19 is the excuse used by the company. Overall worst internet provider I have ever had. Don’t get this service. Wish 0 stars was available
Thursday December 19, 2019 I turned on the television and the Dish cable was no longer in service. I called Hotwire customer service and was told to call back the next day and talk to the Launch Team. I called the Launch Team on Friday, December 20, 2019 and was told it was not their issue and that I needed to speak with customer service. I was transferred to customer service who said they needed to call Dish. I was hold for an HOUR and had to hang up to take a business call. I called back and was then told that Dish turned off the service because of the community’s upgrade which wasn’t even scheduled to complete until the end of January 2020. The following day the Dish service was turned back on and a technician had to come to my home to finish turning the service on. The tech was extremely due and didn’t say one word to me. I asked what happened and why the service was turned off and he shrugged his shoulders. I called Customer Service again and was told that a Hotwire CSR had called Dish and told them to shut off the service for 5-6 units in my community. My home’s internet and cable upgrade was scheduled for 12/30/19. During the appointment the tech permanently attached the co-axle box for the router to my wall causing PERMANENT damage to my home. I don’t know why Hotwire’s resources would permanently affix the device to the wall, especially without asking permission. The damage is down to the sheetrock, and I need to have my wall repaired. Hotwire’s resources don’t have the right to permanently damage someone’s home. Also, the tech paired my TV to the Fusion remote which I didn’t ask for. The TV is a smart TV and now I am unable to use the Smart features and apps because the remote for the TV no longer works because it is paired to the Fusion remote. I wasn’t asked if I wanted it paired. After he did it I told him that I didn’t want it paired, and he said he would have to get a different remote, and he has not.A Samantha called me, and I told her what happened. She said that she would get back to me, but has not. I called customer service for instructions on how to unpair my tv to the Fusion remote and was told they didn’t know.If you have the option of going with another service provider, I highly recommend it
Have been stuck with Hotwire at Summit Park Apartments for 3 years. Always slow connection speeds, terrible customer service and drops off literally every day. They replaced it with fiber optics about a week ago and our internet has been out ever since. 3 tech visits and about 10 service calls later we still have no internet. Absolutely a terrible company and a deal breaker for staying at an otherwise good apartment complex.
I recently just moved from a rental community that only used Hotwire and I have to say, I agree with all of the reviews here. Both the Internet and cable are terrible! Since this is a dish company every time it’s simply rains the cable would go out. The customer service is just as terrible as the cable and Internet service. Their customer service is basically nonexistent. I would not recommend using their services if you had a choice, and if you are reading this and moving into a community with hotwire I wish you luck.
Wow! Where do I even start...the initial installation was a complete joke. They showed up at the wrong time before the appointment time that I was given. When I called them to have them send someone out, they claimed that there was only one guy working in my area and that he wouldn’t be able to return. I was told that I needed to wait a WHOLE WEEK to have someone come back out to install my service. Cut to today...I took off of work so that I could be home for my cancellation appointment between 1pm to 5pm. I call at 3pm to confirm that someone is still coming. They tell me that my appointment time has been changed to the next day between 8am to 1pm because the technician is “sick”...I never got any notice(email or call) letting me know of this change. I’ve asked for an email confirmation for my appointment, but they didn’t want to give me one and just gave me an order #. I guess an email confirmation would actually hold them accountable for the things they say and I guess they don’t want that. I’m SO RELIEVED TO BE DONE WITH HOTWIRE. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. EVER.
My twin has been harrasing me to play the game with her all week and now all of a sudden when im ready to go her wifi dont work. Her and her family have been bored in they house for days. Got my nephew over there losing his mind and they have done nothing to fix the problem 😭😭
Many times you wait a long time on the phone for customer service or tech support. You tell them that your internet signal shows Medium and they tell you that they will charge you if the problem is internal. I ordered NHL Center Ice and would not give me partial refund or credit because the second half of the season was canceled. I’m not ordering any more sport package from them!!
This is the worst cable company I have ever had the displeasure and misfortune of working with. The customer service is lazy, unorganized, and unhelpful. It takes an extraordinary amount of time to install the cable/wifi. The employees of the company do not call their customers and update them on the status of their services. The company is unwilling to provide the services it purports to have.If I had a choice, I would subscribe to another cable company in a heartbeat. Sadly, I am limited only to this cable service provider, and if you find yourself in this exact predicament, I empathize greatly.Simply put, this company is uninspiring and uninspired. I sincerely hope measures are taken so that this company can excel in its reputation and future endeavors.Until then, I will continue to be in contact with customer service for the days and weeks to come.
I had comcast for a long time and hated it. I will never complain about comcast again after having Hotwire. The issues are endless. The complex I rent from will only allow us to use Hotwire and it will be the reason we move out. Our wifi is constantly going out, cable is freezing daily, customer service is non-existent, they blame our devices for the issues we are having, I mean I could go on and on, but the moral of the story is avoid if you can.
The service has been appalling. The internet is not steady, cable tv charges premium rates even when they dont provide HBO. Their tech and customer services are awful. They drop services without notifying customers. I have had to reinstate services 3 times because they claim I didnt pay...UNTRUE and my bank statements prove it. Looking for a new provider.
Im in the process of switching to Hot wire from a major telephone company cos they are expensive. I stated this process by sending the letter of authorization to Hot wire. Make my first appointment with the tecnichine 3.00 pm on wark day. I told customer service to put it back to 3.30 pm cos its a working day. They never informed the tec. and showed up at 3.10 and left. At the second appointment He worked on the line outside the apartment and left. I still dont have the service. Day after the 3rd appointment I got the dial tone. But I dont get any incoming calls. Call the customer service, they ask me to cancel the service with the other company to get the full service. Still no incoming. They want to send the tec again to check the line and want me to be at home. Im not a telecommunication engineer but I have common sense to know this is not something they can fix form inside the apartment. But I agreed to be at home for the 4th day not going to work. The tec. never showed up, they cancelled the appointment didnt informed me. They said it has to be done remotely. Seven days has gone by I still dont have a phone line to call 911 for an emergency even. Had to call back the previous company to reactivate the line.During my countless contact with customer services They put me on hold for 20 min. once and 10 min the next time and I have to get off the line and call back again to find out whats going on.Bottom line is they are very unprofessional and untrained. Except one of the supervisors I spoke to ( I forgot the name) very understanding. Hats off to you gentlemen. Rest of the Hotwire staff thumbs down. Shame on you.
The Internet they provide at my apartment complex is comparable to speeds of over 20 years ago. Its quite pathetic. In the mid 90s, I paid $9.99 for Dsl from Verizon and the speeds then were far faster than having to deal with them today from Hotwire for a price 4 times that than 20 years ago.Saying curse words would be applicable here but to no avail. Screw them and their company. Thank God were moving out soon. Freedom of choice of Internet doesnt apply to them because they own the place. Ill gladly pay $1,000 a month elsewhere for Internet that runs circles around these guys.
LITERALLY the worst. The customer service reps are super polite, but totally ignorant to how the service works, which is a joke. I pay for better speeds and get half of what I pay for, when its working. I can only imagine how it would be if I got a lesser package. If youre offered a potential alternative, take it. Honestly, a potato with a yardstick out the top out will provide more reliable internet service. Complete trash.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It has been over two weeks and I am still waiting for an installation as they did not do the splicing process before the tech appointment. Finally got wires spliced had another (third one) tech appointment today and they never showed. Unfortunately I live in a community that only uses this miserable company so I am handcuffed.
Literally, one of the worst customer/company experience ever. From their Team Leads/Supervisors that dont know what it is offered for the TV package (making false statements regarding the TV HD channels included and contradicting each other), to promising that they will call you back to setup your account and never do so, culminating with hanging up on you, while you calling to setup an account. They are ridiculously expensive and it seems the only reason why someone would sign-up with them is because they are forced to by complex owners. Avoid at all costs!
My apartment complex shoved “Hotwire “ down our throats.Day 1 and I mean day 1, a technician showed up install everything in literally 5-10 minutes maximum.Said wait an hour your internet should start working.12 hours later no internet still.Called Hotwire , a woman answered tried to convince me that In order for me to use the internet I need a computer or a modem to connect to the actual modem , yes I’m serious .I tried to explain to her that we have iPads phones and everything that’s wireless that we can use and she replied while chewing her gum “ I don’t see any problem in that” ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!??My wife called again they told her they can send a technician THE NEXT WEEK.Long story short , we live in summit garden appartements, that way you can avoid both : these appartement complex and HOTWIRE.And by the way stop writing fake 5 stars reviews for your own selves , that’s ridiculously shameful.PS: I’ll update this with every new adventure since this is only day 1.
I havent even had their service for a week and I can tell already tell what a headache it is going to be dealing with this company. Going on 8 hours with no Internet service thanks after brief storm and absolutely no updates on the status of repairs. Dont bother calling because you will just be on hold for hours. Only way I could get a response was through the website chat and twitter DM but even then just got a generic were working on it response from the social media team, not even any info on what the problem is
Run. Away. Fast... well advertise how fast you can run and then crawl away slowly, at less than 1mph, slow enough where a person wouldnt notice you are moving at all until they came back in a few hours to see youve slightly wiggled your ankle.. Plain and simple Hotwire is trash, we signed up for the 100mbps package and we frequently recieve speeds below 1mbps. This is not a joke, hotwire on the otherhand.. I contacted them via chat and they advised that our speed was running at 100mbps. Joke! Our cable runs on potato quality as well. Hotwire has a monopoly at my complex unfortunately. I would not live in a complex running this trash internet and cable if you plan on streaming at any sort of quality.
The internet service is the worst. Its extremely slow. I cant do anything with it. When it rains, its even worse. I sometimes want to pick up my laptop/game console/iPhone and throw it against the wall when Im trying to use the internet.Id switch it anything, ANYTHING else and pay whatever amount, but they have a monopoly in my apartment complex. So sadly, I must suffer with this EXCRUCIATINGLY slow and sad internet service until my lease ends and I can move elsewhere. My apartment is great, and I love everything about my complex, but this terrible internet service is bad enough that I will move to anywhere else - as long as Hotwire does not have a monopoly there and I can use any other provider because Im sure theres nothing out there thats as insufferable as this service.
Stephanie Foster can be described as a model for all Customer Service Agent. What she did was beyond my expectations. She arranged talking to other departments to recover over payments on my account but also made sure that she calls me to update me on the status. This is my first experience that someone calls me instead of me following up on my request to recover overpayment. She knows how to listen to customers and understand their complaints and still be pleasant to talk to.Thanks Stephanie and I hope there are more people like you
They were 3 hours late for the installation appointment. The tech took a total of two minutes to plug the modem into the wall, said it should start working in 20 minutes and left. It didnt and I had to wait another day for him to come back. My experiences with Hotwire Communications only got worse from there.
Unfortunately I could not put zero stars, but this is the worst service I’ve ever had. My apartment building made this company the only service available. If your apartment building requires this service find another place!!Their employees tell you one thing and the next day they’re saying something totally different. If they did not have contracts with apartment complexes they would not have customers.
Hotwire charges me 29.00 per month and says I am getting High Speed internet. When I check the speed I am getting 3mbs. They say that the most they offer is 6mbs. That was high speed in 1987. They know we live in a senior development and they are the only show in town. They are criminals and I hope we figure out how to run them out of the development.
Over priced and highly unreliable internet service. Normally sitting around 0.4 Mbps download/0.6 upload. Thats on a good day when our service is actually working. We usually go a few hours any given week without any service. Their customer service normally isnt any help either. Really curious where my $50 a month goes.
High-speed internet? I am interested to know on what scale Hotwire internet is considered to be high-speed. A Neanderthal would not be impressed with the performance of this internet service. Dial-up would be more convenient, dependable, and capable. Do yourself a favor and invest the $40 a month that you are charged for this service and attempt to fire up your own Internet service.
I can’t believe how bad the cable and internet service is. Cable channels like CNN and E just stop working and the technicians don’t seem to care that we are paying for the service and want ALL the channels. Internet goes out all the time for days sometimes over a week. We have to move to get decent cable/internet.
Horrible customer service. Extremely hard to reach over the phone. If even someone picks up the phone, they transfer to someome else and another long hold, this goes on in cycles from one department to another. After several tries to reach customer service over the phone, I sent a request to disconnect my service using contact us feature on their web site. They totally ignored the request and continued to charge my account and refused to reverse the extra charges. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.
Terrible, just terrible. I was looking for a condo and they told me I would have to use HotWire Communications. I said “Hotwire communications, Who the hell is that?” But tried it anyways. Listen if you’re reading this and thinking about settling somewhere with Hotwire, just run! Turn the the hell around and run! this is hell on earth and do not do it! I MEAN IT! DO NOT GET THIS TERRIBLE SERVICE. THEY MAKE INTERNET SEEM LIKE YOURE BACK IN THE LATE 80’S! The customer service is equally as bad! Don’t do it... please.
I live in a community that uses hotwire services and I hate it. We frequently have issues with internet connectivity, which is also awful because this is located right next to a college campus. We kind of need internet to do school work... I cant wait to not live here anymore so I dont have to deal with this anymore
Beware of Hotwire Communications....they send tech to house not telling they were gonna charge a fee...then after explaining the situation they refuse to waive the fee....BEWARE!!!!!SCAMMERS after explaining that we are covid affected the supervisor could care less...do not need their unreliable internet service
Very very unprofessional company! They are rude to both customers and employees and they don’t care about nothing but money. As longs as it’s enough money flowing to keep this business running. I’m convinced that nothing will improve with this company. From their services, to the management team and customer service% It all sucks!!!!

2021-08-21Second time within three weeks having absolutely no internet, and needing a technician to come assess. First time, was told shouldn’t be a problem again (went five days without Internet to be told that), now waiting another five days to have them come back again. Asked about what they’ll do about my lack of service, CS rep simply complained that he lost service a couple days before too. Does not help my situation at all. Terrible service, both customer service wise and actual internet service. So happy my apartment complex only allows this provider (sarcasm).

2021-07-16The internet connection is terrible. I’ve had my internet randomly go down for apparently no reason. And then if there’s a power outage (as there are a number of in my building) or the router accidentally becomes unplugged, you lose all internet service for the next several days. It’s completely unreliable and frustrating. It’s cheap, but expensive in the headache. If you’re looking at renting in a community which only allows for Hotwire internet, rent elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.EDIT: I’m now on day 3 without internet, trying to work from home while using my phone as a hot spot. I’ve called multiple times but they just can’t get a technician out to my building until next week. They don’t seem to care the internet is necessary in 2021. I imagine this lack of assistance on their part is that they know their customers are locked into using them since they monopolize apartment buildings, prohibiting any other internet provider to be available. If I could stop using this company, I would. In fact, I’m breaking my lease and one of the deciding factors is just how atrocious the internet is. Will they credit me for the days I didn’t have service? I doubt it. Stay away from this horrendous excuse for an ISP.

2021-08-15This is by far the worst internet in the world, the internet goes in and out every other day, they’ll tell you there reaching out to their “tier 2” team and they call you back to fix it, they never call back. You have to wait 3-5 days just to get a tech appointment and if it’s not a “Hotwire issue” you get charged $50 as if I did something to make their horrible service just magically stop working. My complex forces us to use this joke of a company, I would never recommend this headache to anyone nor would I ever pay a penny for this hotel like internet. -10 out of 10 review

2021-08-20I wish I could leave 0 stars. Hotwire is AWFUL! Our internet is down at least once per month. Once every other month, it is down for 12 or more hours at a time. This time, we have been without internet for about 40 hours now. When I placed my original call, they literally asked me what I wanted them to do about it. After explaining their job to them, they finally agreed to come out 4 days later.I sooooo wish I could switch but unfortunately this is our only option.Update: I just called again to try to get an update and I have been hung up on 2x now.Can I also say that the first time I called, they told me it was my specific apartment that was experiencing an issue. The next time, they called me saying that multiple apartments in my building were experiencing an issue. I call the next day to get an update and they tell me it is the entire Hotwire network. I call a few hours after that and they tell me it is my apartment. I explained the different answers I have gotten and was hung up on. I called back to try to get a solution and they hung up on me AGAIN.It is now a month later. Somebody I talked to last month said they were giving me a $15 credit on the account for the next month. They never did...never even put it in the notes apparently. A couple days ago, they said to call back in 2 days to get an update on whether or not they would give me the credit. I call back and now they tell me to call back in 7 days. They just keep pushing it off. Apparently it takes over a week to get anything done over there.Final update on this situation: The social media team finally reached out and said they were just going to apply the credit on my account and it would show up tomorrow. Realllllllllllllllly hoping it does!

2021-06-16Already experiencing issues and I’m a brand new customer....had a set appointment for an installation from 2-4 and they never showed. Now they’re saying to allow and additional 30-40 minutes after the tech is already late. Additionally they don’t even offer gigabit level speeds.

2020-07-15UPDATE: Even though the social media team claims to be working on a solution, we have received no response from them for two and a half days. Not surprisingly, we have attempted to set up cable service in our apartment. We have called several times, getting different answers each time we speak with them. We were finally able to schedule an appointment with a technician, the day were scheduled to go on a two week vacation. So we will end up paying for cable service for nearly a month that we wont be getting service, and Hotwire refuses to do anything about it. I would rate with -5 stars if I could. Unfortunately, I have to settle for 1.---------This has to be the most unintelligent, confused customer service division in a company that I have ever dealt with. We have moved into our new community just three days ago and weve already been on the phone with customer service over a dozen times. The first time was for setting up service. We had an agent tell us that a technician needed to come by to set up the internet, then another tell us that no technician was needed, then another that said yes, then another that said no, then another that said yes. Five times, and were still not really sure what the answer is. We had the EXACT same experience trying to get other ethernet ports set up in the apartment. The technician, himself, said that we could get them activated remotely, which is the reason he did not activate them when he came a few days ago. Now customer service is telling us that it cannot be done remotely and that a technician cannot come out for a few days. Avoid, avoid, avoid Hotwire at all costs if you can.

2021-05-13Heads up before you sign up for Hotwire. They will charge you an extra months worth of billing when you go to cancel. Probably because they can’t keep their current members. Not worth the hassle save your time and money and go with a better provider where you actually will get what you pay for. 0/5 if I could give that rating.

2020-12-22EDIT: I also shouldnt have to post a review to get anything fixed. I should just get what I pay for, not have to jump through hoops by contacting Hotwires Social Media team. From what Im seeing in reviews, theyll send someone out to say its not on their end, and charge me for it.2 Stars because its technically a functioning ISP. I pay for the highest tier possible internet in my complex and Ive never seen a speed test pass 30% of what I pay for. Customer service is fine, but the one time we thought we needed a technician out, it turns out if they had done ANYTHING it would have been over $50. To service the router they provided giving me way less internet than I pay for.Id imagine if they werent the only option available in some apartment complexes around Philly they wouldnt be in business.

2020-07-07I would give 0 stars if possible. I have never had such a consistently slow internet connection in my life, including at a packed Wells Fargo event on their xfinity network. I will be insisting my building manager change providers. We had lost internet for a week less than a month ago. Hotwire was extremely vague in their estimates, literally providing no estimate. As I’ve just spoken to their customer service, they again have no estimate. During a work from home order it is incredibly inconvenient and unimaginable having to rely on cell phone data and potentially public places to be order to perform my job.I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy and would encourage all building managers in Southeastern PA to demand more from an “internet provider” that has not provided any of the buildings here with internet for almost 1/3 of the last month.
