Authentic Thai cuisine that is out of this world. I take everyone I know to this restaurant first and we absolutely love it. From the seafood soup to the green curry duck my personal favorites, to the best fried rice in the Northeast if not the city. Definitely check this place out!
Absolutely best Thai Food in Philadelphia! Definitely come here if you are craving traditional, juicy, fresh Thai Food with a side of their signature Thai Ice Tea! I was going to take a photo but I devoured my meal in minutes. Though I must say there is a good amount left since the portions are HUGE. 10/10 Stars thanks! Will be back :D
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant!!! The food is delicious, fresh, and high-quality -- we rarely have left-overs but finish very satisfied. Our go-to items are the popular Spring Rolls, Thai Dumplings, Pad Thai, and Drunken Noodle. House of Thai always provides a pleasant dine-in experience with chic decor, excellent wait staff, and refreshing cleanliness. Love this place!
This is really, really, really good. Its not at all in a location where youd think such good Thai food would be, yet somehow by the Grace of God it found its way here to bestow its dishes of joy unto all of us. I especially recommend the Massaman Curry or the Tofu Special, but they havent gone wrong with us yet!
Delicious! Be aware this is not a fast takeout with large portions. This place makes high quality food with moderate portions. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the size of the meal for what we paid but after tasting the food, I think it was a good value for the price. I will admit, slightly larger portions might have added this to the lust of places I visit regularly for lunch orders. Still, worth a try. It was delicious.
Fantastic Thai Food. Ib dont usually go for dipping sauces but whatever they use with the spring rolls very very tasty.I recommend any of the curry dishes but my favorite is red. ( If you havent had a Thai curry its like a stew you eat over rice).I also like the drunken noodles. They have always tasted oddly familiar and exotic to me.
This is a hidden gem in Northeast Philadelphia. I have been there many times and it was always a great experience. Due to COVID, they only offer take out and I recently placed an order. Do you know how the food tasted? Fantastic! Lets support our local restaurants during these uncertain times.
Love this place. Food is consistent every time Ive gone and there is a nice variety of dishes but not too much to where the quality is lost. Highly recommend the mango salad. I have had this dish in other restaurants where it is not nearly as tasty or as generous in size. The currys here are also delicious and just the right consistency.
See my old review below & gave that place 5 starts before BUT now everything changed. It feels like it changed the ownership. I ordered food & it wasnt even close to what it was before. I wouldnt recommend it now.I absolutely love this place. Very minimalistic, modern & very pleasant restaurant decor. Food is very good & it is specially with to come during the lunch time. 3 course lunch is only $12. I can only compare this restaurant to Royal Thai Orchid in Malvern, other Thai places I went never came close to this 2.
There are a few comfort foods and drinks I turn to on a bad day, one of which is Iced Thai Tea. Am I writing a review just about a drink? No but I will admit that I often visit just for the tea. It is SOOOOooo good but the food is too (the Chicken Coconut Soup is one of my go-tos). Plus, the gentleman working at the door could not be kinder and more polite. Ill be there again soon...actually, probably today.
My date and I went on Sunday. I ordered seafood soup and mango salad. He ordered drunken noodles with squid. All three dishes were served at the proper temp, made of fresh and well-prepared ingredients. However, all were listed as spicy. He and I both LOVE spicy food. Not one of the three dishes had any heat at all. Disappointing. Service was good
To start off, I have been going here for about a year now. The food is so well made and portions are also on the larger size. Neither my boyfriend nor I have ever been disappointed about anything we have gotten and we have covered most of the menu. I think this is one of the best Thai food places in Philadelphia! The staff members are so sweet and wonderful.
This place is completely underrated! This is truly a hidden gem in Mayfair. Their food is like nothing Ive ever had, the spices, the sauces I mean wow I can go on and on! I had a few.different dishes so far (about 5 different ones) and they exceeded my expectations. Now I have to tell you I went with a friend who was born and raised In Thailand, and also owns her own restaurant in North Carolina (Thai food) so her standards are very high! She was impressed so that should tell you all this place is official and absolutely a MUST TRY!!! Their prices are decent and the service is superb! My new fav place for Asian style food! 10 stars! 🍜🍱🍢🍚🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Always classic, fresh Thai flavors. From the carrot salad with cabbage, lettuce & peanut sauce which is always a refreshing start to the classic pad Thai my friend ordered. I ordered the vegetable dumplings (if you dont see them on the menu just ask, theyre happy to accommodate!) my main dish was pineapple jasmine rice with pork. Its so tasty & flavorful. We both chose the spring roll as our side, the other options are soup or fried tofu. Beautiful formal looking dining room, but you can go casual just not in cutoffs & a tank top, ya know? 2 people for lunch with an appetizer came to $30.00. Go, try it, youll love it.
I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and it was amazing, I also ordered a Thai tea which in my opinion wasn’t sweet enough. I did find them to be a bit pricey as well. For just pad Thai and a tea it was just about $20. I visited around 5:45pm on a Tuesday and it was just me and one other person in there. Very clean in the inside, nice relaxing music in the background and I had no issues with staff. I would recommend for couples or maybe a pair of friends! Parking is sufficient enough, I was able to find a spot easy considering it was rush hour! All and all I do recommend and I will be back!
Food is the best Thai Ive ever experienced!!!!! The Coconut Chicken Soup is my favorite, no other compares. Green Curry Everything is my go to but all the dishes weve had are impeccable! The owner and his daughter are the sweetest. Support this business!!!! Its a great spot in the NE!
This restaurant is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. when I I need a decent supper, this restaurant comes immediately to my mind. Great and food and a rich menu.courteous team, and pleasant atmosphere. And very important, the bill is good. I tell about this restaurant with pleasure.
Love this place! My husband and I have eaten at quite a few Thai establishments, and this is one of our favorites. Quiet ambiance for dining in and great for takeout, too. Recently moved away from the area and bummed we wont be able to eat here anymore. Definitely recommend!!
Great little restaurant, that has a nice elegant atmosphere. The service was great, they were very pleasant and attentive.I had an order of chicken pad thai that was delicious, and took an order of mango and sticky rice to go that was also very good.Would recommend this restaurant for a nice evening if you are in the mood for some good thai cuisine.
Always amazing thai food. One of the best in Philly. I love the massaman curry, curry puffs, chicken satay, shrimp mango curry, and the duck curry. Flavors are very authentic. The peanut sauce is so addicting here! I only wish they would delivery. Sadly its dine in or takeout only. I would order a lot more from here if they would deliver.
Everything on this menu is wonderful from the coconut soup through the two kinds of Curry, and everything else Ive eaten. The restaurant is beautiful and simple. It is the quietest restaurant Ive eaten inside of in such a long time, and that alone would be worth the trial. Add the wonderful food, the reasonable prices, and excellent service, and you have the best of everything here.
My absolute favorite thai restaurant in Philly. I used to work closeby and would go for lunch often. They have an unbeatable lunch special- salad with this incredible peanut dressing, soup or eggroll, and an entree for like $10. The service was always impeccable and the food is consistently delicious.
Great waiter. One man fills the room with the right amount of atmosphere perfectly removed from the floor. Never hovering and always ready to help. Food itself was amazing the drunken noodle is definitely a recommendation the blend of the sauce noodles and the basil leaves makes for a tremendous taste that will make you attempt to clean the two portioned sized plate (impossible).
This place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood!!!! The place looks like a take out place from the outside however when you get inside you are in for a big surprise. It looked like it should be some where downtown!!! The food was extremely tasteful and the service was good. It is a really small place not meant for big crowds however if your looking for a place for date night this is definitely the spot!!!
Lovely decor with tasty food. Food came out rather quickly. Nice portion size and completley satieting. I ordered the Yellow Fried Rice, Shrimp Lemongrass soup and Folden Traingles. Everything was scrumptious. My fiance had the shrimp pad thai which was even better than my selection.
The food was very good but the gentleman who waited on me was unfriendly and hard to get his opinion on the best vegetarian choices on.the menu ...I felt uncomfortable. He tried to put me in the most uncomfortable seat even though the place was empty. I would have liked to had a spicy dish but like i said ..no help to my questions
A classy restaurant in the NE south of Roosevelt? Yes PLEASE!Shout out to all those Pad Se Ew lovers, the best this guys ever had.High end Thai at fair prices (spent 10.95 on pork pad Thai, stuffed), awesome and snug atmosphere. Feels like a creative/high end joint like this oughta be in center city, but its right in Mayfair. Ill take the free parking any day.The neighborhood aint dead folks. We got a live one!

2022-02-26*Takeout review*Food: 5/5Parking: Street Meter ParkingHouse of Thai was recommended to me by couple of my colleagues, some of which would drive 30 minutes just for their food. After ordering couple popular items, I can see why.At the time of my arrival, there was some minor construction ongoing. But that didnt impact my experience, since we ordered for takeout. What was ordered:Spring Rolls (Good)Thai Fried Rice - with Chicken (Delicious)Drunken Noodle (Absolutely delicious) - I can see why it is so popular. I would not hesitate to order this dish every single time. It is packed with flavor, and the food is thoroughly cooked, tasted very fresh. If you are in the area, highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

2019-03-14Great little hidden gem. I came to visit family and wanted to eat something different from the typical Philly food. We went for a girls dinner before a movie, it was snowing so the place was pretty empty. The place is small but nice. The food the great as were the prices. You must try the Thai iced tea and sweet sticky rice. Four of us ate for $70 including a generous tip, for a place with cloth napkins, thats almost unheard of. I will definitely eat here again when Im back in town.

2020-09-30I ordered the Siam chicken it comes with rice, string beans, broccoli and peanut sauce. Everything was delicious, the best peanut sauce I’ve ever tried. A few days ago I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and chicken. The best in town no exaggeration 😊. It tasted way better than I was expecting. Their Thai tea isn’t overly sweet it’s just right.

2021-02-24Really dissapointed. In the past, weve ordered from you many times and have promoted you to be the place for Thai food in Philly if not in the Northeast. Weve taken our family there to dine and have have promoted you to all of our friends...which makes our most recent experience even more dissapointing. Were all experiencing tough times. Our hard earned money is even harder to earn these days. So considering the fact that youve chosen to serve us, then weve considered to return the favor. This is a relationship. So for tonight, we ordered 2 appetizers and an entree: chicken skewers, papaya salad, and drunken noodles with squid and shrimp. Total $33.32. Chicken skewers: we got 4 skewers with peanut sauce fine. Papaya salad: its a vegetable salad, fine. Noodles: the rice noodles were broken which hinted that they were either extremely overcooked or overdue. The shrimp and squid was pasty and reeked which hinted tha they were a day close to being spoiled. Honestly, if you cant serve fresh food, then let us know, well glady support you by ordering something else from the menu. You dont charge take out prices so dont feed us take out food because if thats what youve decided to offer, then we have better options. This is $33 dollars for 2 people..for something we couldve easily. gotten for $15. Youve decided to cater to a specific clientele and with that comes some level of expectation...if youve decided it is not your intention anymore, then that fine. Then well have to reconsider our relationship. Very disappointing. If you found this review helpful, then please click on the thumbs up icon below so that I can continue to provide useful reviews like this one.

2018-01-05Nice Thai restaurant. Pad Thai was good. The spicy eggplant was a bit too salty. Nice, clean Thai restaurant. Also be warned, the Thai iced tea will keep you up all night.

2019-03-27Food was okay... they reused the oil they used to cook fish with. I ordered chicken and it smelled like fish. Would not come back again. Also satay chicken was bland
