Was just there yesterday and we were trying to talk about a down payment and the cars and info we would need when someone came out of the building and told us we arent customers so we gotta go. We were potential customers, we just needed more information on the cars we were interested in, etc. Wont be a customer now, horrible customer service and wanted us off the lot if we didnt have money on us. Ridiculous.
I chatted with a Jeff R on the chat line to help me and make sure I ordered the correct tire. He was so very patient with me, even though I had no clue even after he was telling me what info he needed and how to order. So he ordered the tire for me after explaining several times how to add my card info privately so he nor anyone else would see it. Thank you very much for being so kind and I will know next time what to do
Prices vary, they Will work with you, I had an issue with a headlight on a car purchased, they made sure it was working correctly. Friendly staff and work with you, recommend, theyll try to get you*a car within a day or two

I have been waiting to write this review for a while now. But the vehicle i purchased from Junk and Putty excuse me i mean j and p auto mart has now stopped me from getting to work a couple days.. I bought a truck off them fall of 2017. first off it was 1500 dollars over blue book value. it had a fresh coat of paint and it was JUST inspected, i repeat JUST inspected. but it was a manual and i thought i was getting somewhat of an investment. within the first week the exhaust from the cat back fell totally off, it was held up very poorly. and also the transmission mount ripped totally. so I take it to a garage that would honor the warranty, someone honest. the car ended up needing 1500 to 2000 dollars in repairs, my mechanic said that the truck is dangerous and should have never passed inspection (ball joints, transmission mount, reverse light sensor, exhaust, and other small things). to make things better, the warranty they sell didnt cover my car because it was too old (but the salesman sold it to me anyways) when i called Junk and Putty the guy that sold me the car said i am only the salesman dude but their mechanic is who inspected the car and after days of calling and arguing i only got 650 to buy parts... and the more i drive and get familiar with this vehicle i realize to what extent they went to hide things... DO NOT BUY FROM J AND P AUTOMART!!!
**Buyer Beware** this place is a rip off. I stopped and looked at a truck and yes it was highly over priced but I figured their was wiggle room to negotiate a fair price I was very wrong. The truck had its issues for a 18yr old truck but I was still interested. looked under the truck lots of undercoat hiding all the rust but still buyable if I got a couple years out if it. The guy who works there R*** gave me a trade-in value on my vehicle with and total out the door price. I told him Ill think about it so I went home and started my research (they apparently didnt expect that). I Kelly blue booked and NADA the truck and found out the truck was only valued at half their asking price. So a few days later I contacted J&P and talked to R*** and made a kbb fair market value offer on the vehicle. He did not like that one bit after explaining my research. Hes attitude changed and started trash talking my vehicle about the rust. He then said their was an error on the original quote on my trade-in and the value is actually cut in half. which brought the price of their truck back up to their asking price. WHAT A JOKE!! Thats a true con artist at its best. Do yourself a favor and pass this place by unless you want to be ripped off then by all means have at it..
These guys are a pinnacle in our community. Used cars sales is just that. I can tell you they have selection, and always have good taste bringing in new selection. Ive bought cars from (bigger) dealers and smaller dealers, most times the cars breakdown dont matter where you get it. Paul is a stand up guy, stands behind his word, and without him, buddy, and the girls running the office, this City would have less opportunity to find an affordable solution
Con men all those cars have major issues and they don’t fix anything they’ve been sued so many times they used every lawyer in the state pretty much and can’t be sued due to conflict with all the lawyers
Brought a 2008 Chevy equinox had it for almost 6 months with a warranty took it to shop to get worked on and everything you think is going wrong. These people are a rip off. Never will send anyone to this place to buy a vehicle, they had vehicle not even two weeks after I brought sent back to J&P and they DID NOTHING TO FIX IT. No paper work given on work they supposedly did work on it.
Bought 3 vehicles and had 3 great experiences. You’re buying a used car that’s bound to have an issue or two so it’s the service after the sale that matters. Anytime I had an issue it was a no questions asked issue fixed situation.
Look at the kbb and nada prices almost 2k over value. You drive past his lot same vehicles there for years and years, but the prices never go down. This is the best place to go if you want ripped off have bad credit and can’t afford to go blue knob up the road to get a newer less mile vehicle at the same price... seeing reviews looks like your lucky to get out of the city without it having motor problems...
I would never again purchase another vehicle from them. Took the truck to be inspected and was told that the truck needed fifteen hundred dollars in repairs that should have been done last year, Completely rusted under body that they spray coated. They are not truthful and their vehicles are junk. J and P, also known as junk and putty. never purchase a vehicle from there if you care about what you buy.
Sold me a 2003 F-150 3 years ago that i flew all the way from Texas for to buy up front, they told me over the phone it had no rust and i stupidly believed them. After having the truck for 6 months i had to replace the entire A/C system, GAS TANK, and suspension that has costed me around 3000$. Also, the trucks frame has three 2 inch holes in it with the entire frame AND body of the truck crusting away! The floor on the passenger side of the truck already has started falling out! They charged me 12k for a truck worth 3k at most so i feel pretty sick trusting these people and will NEVER make the same mistake again.
Just wanted to put this out there and give the recognition these guys deserve. The other day I totaled my truck. I call these guys and came in that day. The helped me out with getting a new ride.. Paul, mark, and buddy, went above and beyond to make sure I left there with a new ride that I was happy with.. this has been the 4 vehicle I have bought from them.. and been happy with them all.. if there is a problem they are rite on it to make it rite.. honesty and integrity, go along way with these guys.. they do everything they can to make u leave happy and satisfied, with your new car or truck.. thank you very much for working with me and making me feel happy about my purchase.. if theres a problem with something these guys are rite on it to make it rite and make u feel satisfied.... This place is HORRIBLE!! They are crooks! I found a car I was looking for and had a few issues I wanted resolved with it before I picked it up. They made their promises and wrote down what the issues was and when I came to get it, nothing was done. The tank was almost empty, the car was filthy on the inside and they tried to play dumb about the issues I told them about. I caught them in so many lies that they couldnt even keep them straight. I wanted to end the sale there, but my husband insisted on getting the car because he didnt want to shop anymore. I have had nothing but issues with the car and they do not uphold their warranty. Stay awake for this glorified trash hole!
Great place for a good deal buddy really did everything he could to get us in the truck we loved and he got it done.this is the third truck Ive bought from buddy and will b buying the next one there buddy is a great guy and will do what he can to help u gut into the vehicle u want thanks buddy
Sold my buddy a nearly 10000 dollar truck....he made it all of 300 miles before it was in the shop for a repair...bad cylinder. They also half-a$$ bondoed both rocker panels, and covered the whole frame and rocker panels with black spray paint to hide the rust ( and poorly, i might add. Overspray everywhere, wavy lines. Ive done better DIY body work in a parking lot ). These people ARE the stereotypical, overpriced, smooth talking car salesman that could care less about quality, value, or their customers. Take your business literally ANYWHERE else
Family purchased a car in October, check engine light came on the day after driving it off the lot. Now not even a year later the engine is blown, still owe 4 years on it. Absolute garbage.
My son bought his first car at j&p. they were good with him as far as helping him find a car he could afford and the best quality. where everything went sour is after he bought it. they gave him a 4 month or 4000.mile warrenty. well, he ran out of gas on Interstate 80 on his way to college, the gas gauge said it was full, so what would you think since when he test drove it gas was on 1/4 of a tank. so i called in the next day and they acted like they would look in to it, NOT,,,,,,,found out it wasnt really the guage it was a whole in the gas tank, which shouldnt of passed inspection! well after a week or 2 calling and calling they finally said they would send a check for 50.00 to help pay for the new tank. well..........a month later still no check and im given the run around that it went to the accounting department to send out.. then the next thing his drivers door handle broke and it would shut. I know when you buy a used car your going to have some of t his stuff but really...... it wouldnt of been so bad if they really would of sent him the 50,.00 like they said but it doesnt take a month to recieve mail from altoona to new enterprise. Oh the worst part is the smart a** that answered the phone and was so ignorant , this wasnt the fella we bought the car from but the other one, I dont think I will go back there to for another vehicle, if they just would do what they said they would do it wouldnt of been so bad.....
Bud is a great help. He has even called us to let us know about a van after we got all the kids. He also tries several different lenders to get us the best intrest rate.
Buddy is a shady car salesman he agreed on one price for the vehicle and my trade in told me it was buy here pay here then put me in for a loan with 2 different places for his price and said the vehicle I wanted may or not be fixed and if not he will put me in another vehicle plus told my fiance when I went to the bathroom he could lock me in and they could have some fun the guy is a shady business man and a pig dont go there
I bought a 03 Chevy suburban off of rich the first week was OK until someone almost ran into me I went to honk my horn to find out that it didnt work that was my first issue they ended up fixing it which it should have never passed inspection.a week later the truck wouldnt go over 25mph to come and find out I have 7 out of 8 pistons misfiring pistons 1234568 my abs light was on and my check engine light is on they were supposed to fix that. My abs light is still on took it to another shop they told me that it could be the wheel bearing which cost some where in the ball park of 350 to have fix and I need a new abs box which cost some where around 400 dollars now when I gave him all this information he that its not under warranty people please take your money somewhere else

Their vehicles are junk, overly priced and did I mention junk? These cars are $500-$2000 cars, being sold $5000+.
I wont be going back there anymore got a truck off them and now its going to be over $2000 just to get it fixed had up to them two times and they didnt touch a bolt on the truck update on my its back up at J&P do to having a rotten frame waiting for them to call me to see what is going to happen I will keep everyone updated as much as I can update on the truck got the truck back the plated the frame and put putty on the frame new tires and replaced the exauexh witch Im not happy at all about and the never fixed the ujoint and or the rear seal and they put a new ball joint on the and a steering rack Im not happy by any means the truck shots off it didnt do that till I got it back the frame work that was done to it was a piss poor job I dont know if I can give these people a good review like I said Im not happy by any means

Beware!!!!!!!paid months in advance,well they came last night and took my car....showed my receipt today and made me pay repo fee...buddy says dates on receipt are wrong even though he printed it from his own computer.....total rip off place
Salesman tried selling me junk and tried telling what I should buy. Tires on the vehicle were almost bald, he told me he would change only if it didnt pass inspection. He was also very cocky and erragent. Will never go back again.

I seen all the cars backed into each other, I asked the guy about that and he started getting smart and said yeah we just smash them into each other and blamed it on the owner, all the cars are overpriced, I will never buy a car from here.
Check for buy here pay here in altoona they come up ask if they are they say no and that they know about that problem but of course they wont fix the issue as long as they get suckers in to look they will try to hook them dont play there games just like a typical sales man if mouths moving there lying

2022-06-30While the staff was friendly and efficient, they also lied through their teeth about the car that I bought. They insisted that all maintenance was done prior to purchase only to find out NOTHING was done. The car needed brakes, rotors, new timing belt, and a new transmission (after 2 months of driving it). The price was right until I asked for more on my trade. They gave me more. But raised the price of the car. They screwed me over and will not get any referrals or additional business from me.

2022-06-18The salesman LIED TO ME and said the 12 Hyundai Elantra I wanted to trade in had an engine recall. I asked him to show me where on the Carfax it said that, and he said it wasnt on the Carfax. I checked with Hyundais website, and there are NO current recalls on my car. THEY ARE SIMPLY LIARS! Too bad this review wont let me give them zero stars.

2019-01-03Will update as time goes on. I purchased a 2000 for ranger from them March 2018 from rich. hes a great guy. Drove the truck for 4 days(300 miles). Its been in the garage for 2.5 weeks with a misfire in 3&6, no error code. Rich told me to take it to any old garage, anybody could put a hose on and fix a vacuum issue. This was before I found out it was a misfire. I have a warranty, 4 months ,3000 miles. If its cylinder heads and valves and doesnt have any compression, Im hoping they will honor the warranty. If not, Im parking the ranger in the front window of their showroom and returning the keys to one main financial. Ill update if I hear good news.******Update Jan 1, 2018: replaced water pump, fan shroud, now there is a horrid squeal in the engine(most likely tensioner pulley), and the whole rear axel is almost fully rusted thru. Didnt notice till after the black cover came off. Still owe $7,500.
