For my past few selections I’ve shopped at John V. Schultz and this was my best experience by far. Mr. Moffatt was very helpful and walked my wife and I through several selections. This took us all the way up until closing and we never felt rushed or hurried to purchase or that we were taking to long. We made our purchased and thanked Mr. Moffatt for his time and attention. If you want to make a purchase of a piece of great furniture from a place with great customer service I think you can’t go wrong with John V. Schultz.
We didnt have the need for furniture in our house until we recently finsihed our basement last summer. We needed a couch and decided to stop in John V on a Sunday afternoon. The selection of couches is overwhelming but its honestly one of the best places to shop for furniture around the Erie area. Our salesman, Justin, met us and pretty much guided us through the process. We have a uniquely shaped space and he took A LOT of time guiding us through what would work and what wouldnt work. He was a trooper because it was a long process with our crazy schedules. If we need more furniture in the future we will be back to look at more items.
Unfortunately the customer service regarding warranty claims is sub optimal. We paid for the platinum service on our couch, which has needed to be serviced twice in the two years since we purchased it. The most recent claim started on April 14th, and now, two months later, the couch is still broken, and the warranty claims department doesnt respond to our emails. Id recommend not buying from JVS or Ashley. Also, Id recommend not buying their platinum protection since you will probably get quicker results rebuilding your own couch.
My wife and I were looking for a table and chairs to go in our basement renovation area. Michael Maruca was great to work with and took the time show us various options. We found what we were looking for in a reasonable price range. If you need a great sales person, Michael is your person. Thank you.
We have gotten couches and a dining room table from here. Dining room table was bought in 2010 and is still amazing! But we have had 2 couches that have not lasted long. Our last couch we bought in 2019 and we already need a new one. Very disappointed. My mother also bought a couch in 2019 from the same place and it also needs replaced.
To whom it may concern,I wanted to pen a letter to notify you of my experience with your company and staff. The service and staff in my opinion have not been a very good representation of the Ashley/Levin Furniture Store. Back in December of 2021, I purchased several items from Ashley Furniture McKnight Road.King Hybrid Bed2 Twin box springsHeadboardFootboardBed rails2bedroom dressersCouchLoveseat &NightstandI was given several dates for delivery, the latest was April 2022. In March 2022, several items started to arrive and by this time I was very excited!! Because there were so many items there were several deliveries scheduled. First damaged item was one of the bedroom dressers. The bottom decorative piece fell off. I request that the delivery crew take this item back as it was damaged.A few weeks later my bedroom furniture was scheduled to arrive and when it arrived it too was damaged and taken back. The following delivery (scheduled sever weeks out) was cancelled last minute due to trucking problems. Once the items finally got delivered several items were broken, crushed or destroyed.The customer service and direct supervisors were not accommodating and very unprofessional when I called for assistance. One gentleman laughed at my stressful situation as I explained to him that I had to take off from work to have my furniture arrive broken for the 4th time in a row!!Finally, after several calls, I was told that I could look at another bedroom set as the one I originally purchased was currently unavailable for delivery. I agreed to the available set, and delivery was set with special instruction to insure items would arrive intact!! 5th delivery and you guessed it……THE ITEMS ARRIVED BROKEN!!!!!!!!! The delivery drivers had not even moved the items from the truck, and they were broken!!! I contacted the store and was placed on hold and redirected several times before I gave up and contacted corporate. Once corporate answered I was informed that this store was a franchise location and unable to assist. I have yet to receive a call or any type of compensation for my inconvenience. I was told that I would receive a gift card once the order is delivered and complete!! The order has not been delivered or complete as it continues to arrive broken every time an attempt is made. I reached out a few days ago to confirm that the furniture would still be available by the beginning of May and was notified that I would have to wait until May 18th. I am very dissatisfied with the way Ashley/Levin has handled this situation. The multiple deliveries and the time lost from work has caused great anxiety for me. Hopefully this email reaches the correct person as the team at Ashley Mcknight road would not provide information on whom I could contact by phone.I have never experienced such unprofessionalism when dealing with such a huge company. Please keep in mind that I purchased these items moments after signing on a new home purchase and have been without furniture for months.
Though I was shopping around to get my options I visit John V Schultz. I was greeted by an Alexander Sampsell who made the entire experience rather stress-free. Unlike the sharks that are car salesmen, Alex, let me choose and understand what we were talking about. He grabbed me water as my body got used to the mattresses I was testing and provided profound insight into each and every piece. Not only did he say he believed in the product but he tested it as well. Jumping on the furniture to test it’s durability and standing on the drawers to show that the mechanisms won’t break. If you were to ever go to this store and shop seriously. I recommend Alexander full heartedly. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10-8 and Sunday 12-6. You won’t be let down.
I was trying to find a couch/sectional that was suitable for my family and when I reached out on Ashley Furnitures websites chat, I got directed to Boneta at JVS and she emailed me quotes and dealt with all of my questions then called me and helped me set up our purchase of our new Jayceon 3-Piece Sectional with Chaise & set the delivery up, all over the phone. Delivery was quick and perfect! And our new couch is the perfect addition to our home.But I really would say if youre in the market for furniture, contact JVS and ask to speak to Boneta. Shes wonderful!
Wonderful experience in a bad situation! Our house is under construction from water damage. We need to replace almost everything! Was able to find all our replacement furniture here and could not have asked for a better host (Jamie). She went above and beyond to help us and spend as much time as needed! Thank you!!
I had a great experience at JVS as always… lovely and clean ,the store is so inviting and always filled with beautiful merchandise. I was greeted when I walked in, but calmly assured it was ok to head to customer service, without pressure or intrusiveness. I was greeted in Customer Service by friendly smiles and words of kindness. I inquired about my need and was instantly assisted. I looked around the store casually and found 2 beautiful decorative items for my wedding!! Customer service with a smile, great sales assistance, and treasures at great prices!! My wife and I went to Ashley furniture on a Tuesday, furniture specialist Paul Newlin greeted us and answered every question we had, he is very professional. My wife and I decided to keep browsing arrow in other stores and after making a decision on the furniture we saw at Ashley furniture, we waited for the next day Paul Newlin was in the store and we asked exclusively for him, we are very grateful with his service.
Purchased a bed that was in stock. Waited over a month for delivery. Took the day off to receive it first words out of the delivery drivers mouth was “it is damaged.” We can get you another one delivered in 3 days… Meanwhile old bed was disposed of. So John V, you made me wait that long to get a damaged bed delivered and then want me to take another day off to receive a replacement in 3days? Then get defensive when I can’t take a day off again…. I’ve spent a lot of money there in the past few years and that’s the last time we will purchase anything there . EDIT: you responded to an online complaint faster than you responded to my calls requesting a refund. Totally unsatisfactory!
Excited about our new couch!*Edit* was excited, until they called the day before the delivery date and said its not getting delivered and its going to be months. I have already disposed of my old furniture because the new couch is supposed to be delivered tomarrow. Now what am I going to do? Very disapointed.
Hope you read this review before shopping!We left great reviews when we bought furniture mid November 2021. Spent approx $11k on a bed and living room furniture, we wanted for the holidays. Well of course that was a foolish thought with todays shipping and workforce! But we made our decision we would have to wait until January for order to come in.Know it’s a he said/she said with our salesperson. Well as a consumer let me say We would have NEVER imagined waiting until June/July of 2022 for our furniture. We could of been enjoying furniture from Oak Express by Christmas (2021). But we thought it was worth the wait time(January) to get a little better price. My wife & I plus 3 (adult kids) that we took out to dinner to help us make the choice, all understood clearly from salesperson(Jamie) that it would be January sometime. Now I called on my own today to check status, that’s how I found out June.Shop elsewhere so you don’t have to bring glasses to read the fine print and get your order before it’s already out dated😡.
I purchased a dining room set via the website back in January for a selected date in February for delivery. I received a few phone calls stating that my set was delayed but wouldn’t be too long, I then received a message that it was going to be delayed almost another 5-6 MONTHS. Not being super picky about my set I called the customer service number back to chose another set, through many transfers because the site and store are different I wanted to speak with my local store which put me in touch with Mark Marcua. He went above and beyond to help me get a new set quicker. He was able to text me since I was working and made everything a breeze. He looked at what I had originally ordered and looked to see if anything was similar that I could be okay with. He asked the usual questions of what I was looking for color etc. I was flexible but really wanted something with a bench. He was able to find me a set very similar that I should be able to get in the next month since everything was on back order. He double checked my previous order to make sure it’s cancelled so I could get this ordered and delivered to my door. I’ve never had a transaction go smoother, and the fact that I didn’t need to drive over an hour to the store after work to do was a huge plus. If I had more than 5 stars I would give it. I highly recommend Mark if you ever need anything even if it’s a strange request.
I was searching for an area rug. I checked Ollie’s and lowes and found nothing so decided to try this store. I ended up finding the most beautiful rug that perfectly matches my living room. Then when checking out I found out it was 30% off and was less than the carpets at the other stores but MUCH better quality. So that was a win!! Very nice clean store too. I will be returning when I need new furniture.
Andrew was such a helpful sale person. I knew what my price point was and Andrew did not try to sell me something that I did not want to but or oversell me something that I could not afford. I am so glad that he took care from of me from start to finsh. I would suggest this place for there professional work ethics.
I am extremely dissatisfied with John V Schultz managing my order. I am not the person who normally goes online and write reviews on my orders. Customer service is extremely bad at John V. I have purchased significant amount of furniture, but still they ignored my requests. I paid platinum coverage warranty on my furniture and I raised some customer service requests. One of my furniture came with defect and they told me that they will exchange on the day they delivered my stuff, but no one got back to me about when they are going to deliver the new one. They never followed up with me on the customer service requests that I raised on my table. I have to call them to figure out about the status of my request, but still could not be able to reach the store manager. They kept me hold for more than 30 min, finally took my phone num and told me that the store manager will call me which they never did until now.. I am a busy person in life and I really don’t have time to keep a constant track on my purchases. I choose them just to encourage the local store and now I regret with my choice. Also, we need to be very careful about the billing as well. Their billing system does not specify the actual price and price after discount. I did a mistake by not noting the original prices. I have only the discounted bill now and I am not sure whether I got the appropriate discount. John V is definitely not customer friendly at least to my experience. I had multiple other issues with their sales team. I am so mad that I will rate them zero if I had a option to rate them..
My wife wanted to replace her aging recliner. Rather than spending a lot of time and energy looking everywhere for recliners, we knew that John V Schultz sold Stressless recliners. We went to John V, looked at the many Stressless recliners available, and my wife found what she was looking for. Julie Rahr was invaluable helping us. Purchasing quality furniture is a long-term investment, and Julies knowledge and experience helped us. Thank you Julie.
Love this store. Great customer service. Great selection of decor and at a fair price.Edit: be aware!The staff are nice enough . Heres the problem...the original price on the showroom floor and the online original are rarely the same. Also depending on how cooperative the sales person is the price can vary wildly. Im not a very confrontational person so I dont like having to debate a price. It feels very much like a car sales situation. Additionally I am color blind. I went in with the 3 piece occasional I wanted to buy that matched my sofa, chair and matching ottoman. I was taken to the set and was in luck because it was on sale. Got it home...was pleased...company came and informed me it was not the matching color. Was given gray/silver instead of the dark brown I showed the sales person when I got there. Will not buy from them again because I feel like unless Im willing to demand a lower price I wont get it. And will be sold a different color, perhaps in my mind the color on clearance needs sold first. Please remember not every one can see colors but rely on the representatives to sell me what I show them online which clearly said Mocha and not Silver.Update: Janice the general manager called and corrected the wrong color issue and was very informative about everything else I had questions about. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst experience. Waited almost a year for a new couch and ottoman. Received the wrong ottoman… never saw the ottoman at the store that I received nor would I have ever ordered it. Reached out to have the correct one sent to me. I was understanding until now…. Now apparently I owe them more money in order to receive the one I ordered. I would recommended going somewhere else. They have not been helpful in resolving this issue. Ordered the couch September 2020 and still dealing with this.
Found what we wanted. They wanted 200 dollars for delivery of 2 end tables that were going to cost less than 600 dollars or we could go to Fairview to pickup for free. So we didnt by them. So very disappointing and the delivery price was ridiculous. Will not be going back there.
We absolutely love our sales guy, Brian. (I call him Bri-Bri. Lol). I thought everyone was professional and helpful , from when we first arrived. Someone helped us locate Brian and it was full steam ahead after that.We cant praise Brian enough. He was very knowledgeable and gave us all the available options for us to consider.
The Representative for John V Schultz Ms.Trudy was very inquisitive of helping us out very patient outgoing and her integrity was to the point of no return were glad to have used Trudy to have us purchase Love seat and sofa . Hopefully our love seat will be in Fairview. Pa in the timely manner Tentative date of March the 17th,2022
I cannot say enough about Lloyd! He gave us the best customer service experience. In these trying times he went above and beyond to help us find what we were looking for that could be delivered in such a short amount of time. He was so friendly and willing to help in any way. If/when I shop there again I would go directly to him for help! Thank you Lloyd!!
They told us our couch was ready to be picked up. Time off of work, borrowed a truck, moved everything around to get it in. Went to the warehouse. The couch wasnt there. Ridiculous. Called the manager to complain. Wasnt helpful. Asked for a discount. He said they dont do that. He offered a $50 gift card. Seriously? My daughter also had trouble with them. Her table was broke when they delivered it. They sent her the wrong parts to fix it. Took forever for them to fix it correctly. They should treat their customers better. We will not be recommending this place to anyone!
My boyfriend and I were looking for a mattress, and they have a really nice selection of name brands. Jeff helped us with our selection, and he was really knowledgeable and paid attention to what we liked and didn’t like. He gave us time to try as many beds as we wanted and checked on us a number of times to answer any questions we had. We told him we were going to shop around, but we went to a couple other places and realized that John V Schultz/Ashley had a way better selection, and Jeff was way more attentive/knowledgeable than the other salesman. We ended up turning around and went back to John V Schultz and made the purchase the same day. Best part is that our bed was in stock and will be delivered to us in 4 days! We had a great experience there, and we would definitely recommend this store!
Robert Heck was an excellent salesman, no pressure like most! He took the time to answer all of my questions, and there were a lot of them... this was not a decision I made easily and he took the time to make sure I was happy and sure of my decision. The prices were the best I found too, very happy with my decision to shop there. I will be using Robert Heck and John V. Schultz again in the very near future!
My husband and I ordered a set of furniture on Black Friday and continued to get the run around for almost a year. Finally had to cancel the original set and order a different set. We were very unhappy with that ordeal but our salesman Mark was amazing! He was a straight shooter with us from the beginning. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the only reason we decided to keep our business with them. If purchasing furniture, pay attention to the manufacturer and what their lead time has been!!!
My husband and I just purchased furniture at John V. Schultz Furniture. Julie, our sales representative was very knowledgeable, curtious and a real pleasure to work with. We will definitely do business with the store and Julie if and when we are in need of anything else for our home.
Jeff was my salesman and was an outstanding help in selecting furniture for my home. He was polite, knowledgeable, thorough and really listened to what I was looking for. I purchased a very expensive sectional three years ago from John. V Schultz. Up until this week it has worked and I was very happy with the purchase as well as the team who helped deliver the furniture. My touch screen on the sectional is no longer working. I called both John V Schultz and Ashley Furniture to see if a new touch screen could be ordered and serviced. My couch is no longer under warranty which I was aware of but because of this they are unable to order or service ANY parts because I no longer have a warranty. I was willing to pay out of pocket to have my touch screen fixed I just needed the part ordered. I am very disappointed and upset with the company. This was not explained to me at the time of purchase. I will never purchase furniture from them ever again.
Ordered a complete livingroom set a couple years back and wonderful exsperiance. Now i ordered a mattress and head board plus frame july 4th weekend. They said 6 weeks for delivery and still waiting. I get cuz of covid everything is delayed but not once have a received a call from them explaining anything. They pushed 2 loans threw both there financing companies and when i questioned that john v shultz told me its not there problem???? I have left several mesaages for people to call me and 3 times was with a manager that gave me his name and extension back in September and nothing. I have 2 loans and no bedroom set to this day! Becareful what u order and what they saw!!!
The salesperson was terrific! We did enjoy working with him; however, we ordered our furniture in early November--and the loveseat just came in last week. To make matters worse, delivery wont be for about 12 days. I know the supply chains are not robust, but we know other folks that purchased from other stores and received their furniture in just a few weeks. So I recommend shopping around and ensuring delivery times prior to purchase.
My wife and I needed a new bed. So we tried one from a big box club . Wow that was a mistake. So we decided to visit John V Schultz Furniture & Mattress, in Erie Pa. What a Great experience we had our sales Lady Daria Kitcey was so helpful and patience. We talked about the other bed we had, and how my lower back felt . She was very understanding and showed us like like six different beds and how each one worked. After 45 min. to a hour , we not only where very comfortable with Daria, we feel that comfortable in our new Bed. Cant wait for it to be delivered.... And to get a good night sleep..... I was very pleased with services until it came time for delivery. We had a scheduled delivery date which we made arrangements for my spouse to be home. The day before delivery I received a call stating that they couldn’t delivery my order for 3 more days. I tried to call the store to speak with a manager. I called 16 times and never received a call back from the manager. I spoke with delivery and was told there was nothing they could do to help me. I informed her that we would be out of town the day they could deliver and requested a time so I could make arrangements for someone to be at my house to accept the delivery. They could not give me a time. She stated I would have to wait until the day before and they would give me a 3 hour window. Terrible customer service. Even worse communication.
I will not be redundant and go through the issues I have encountered since purchasing my furniture.Many of my issues with the service have already been addressed by other disgruntled customers. When purchasing the furniture I made sure that the furniture I chose was in stock in the warehouse. Even had a manager involved. I paid the extra $179 to have the furniture delivered and put together. Neither happened and now I am told by customer service that I am allowed 1 more service call and if I want the rest of the furniture delivered after that it will cost me an additional $179. I pointed out that none of this was my fault and customer service stated that only 2 deliveries are made per order no matter the issue. I have called the store and am still waiting for a call back. Just be ware before purchasing.
We were very pleased with our experience at John V Schultz DeWitt spent a great deal of time with us as we looked for a very specific item. And with his help we found just what we wanted. We went home to measure just to make sure and called the next day. Again DeWitt spent time with me as did the paperwork to pick up our item. I was very happy with the overall experience
Too late. I will never buy furniture from this place in future. I paid full cash around 16000 for my new house in September 15, 2021, it’s been dec 7 2021. I paid that amount in September and my house is empty till now.And they are still saying it will arrive 2022 around February. I really hate this store. They don’t understand the value of customer and and value of customer money.
I will not be making another purchase at John V ever again. Through this process, I have been lied to and hung up on. The delivery window is FOREVER. Don’t let them con you. It’s NOT 2 weeks! Salesman was good, although he knew that I wasn’t going to get my furniture for months, ever though he quoted 2 weeks.Go to the other Schultz on 26th, you will be much better off!
Three stars because the store itself is wonderful and so are the sales people. However, it’s only three stars because we purchased a $1,000 Nectar mattress, and when we opened it up there was a rip in the memory foam we found upon opening.UPDATE: a lady from the store called and they’re willing to exchange the mattress with delivery of a new mattress. Super impressed with this store making things right. Thank you, John V Shultz.
We ordered a large sectional online in mid-March. The item was not listed as delayed or out of stock, so we were surprised when we got a call to say our delivery date wouldnt be until April 24th. We paid $150 for delivery and double checked the day of the week with the representative. At no point was this date framed as an estimate.We gave our old sectional away the weekend before the scheduled delivery date. I called to ask about the time and was told the furniture was now delayed until May. The representative was dismissive when I asked why we hadnt been contacted. She told me the system doesnt work that way. If a delivery date cant be honored, the company has no obligation to let you know.COVID delays are out of everyones hands, but communication isnt. If wed simply received a call in April we would have kept our old couch and waited patiently. As it is, we havent had a couch for over a month. The May delivery estimate became June and now its August (I had to call again to find this out, they did not contact me.) They offered to bring us the three sectional pieces they do have, but we dont know what wed do in the event the dye lots are different or the final piece never comes. I doubt it would be easy to get a refund or replacement.I went to the store to ask about what we might be able to get sooner. Stood and waited half an hour for the salesperson to check on a set. Eventually we just got a refund and ordered through Furniture Row, where they are transparent about which pieces are in stock at the warehouse and which are under a manufacturers delay. Theyve already communicated with me more in one day than John V. Schultz did in months.
I ordered a rocker recliner May 27, due to the supply chain issues it was out of stock and to come in mid July, if not earlier, which was fine. I left a vm for my sales lady mid July and she never returned my call. A week later I contacted CS who told me my recliner would not be in until end of August or beginning of September. It would of been nice if the sales lady had let me know this with a simple phone call. The lack of communication pertaining to my order is frustrating. I might have canceled and kept looking if I had known it would take months just for one recliner.
My family and I had a great shopping experience while searching for a new mattress. The selection was awesome and our salesman, Jeffery O., was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He was able to point my wife and I in the right direction and helped us narrow down to our final choice. A+ all the way around.
If zero stars was an option, that would be chosen. Truthfully there isnt even a word to express how awful our experience has been. After Lloyd Staples sold us a couch in February, we have yet to hear from him...aside from calling to tell us our sectional was in. Only to get there and find out that only HALF of our sectional was there. It is now halfway through November and we have not received an ounce of communication informing us where or when our couch would be in. Absolutely terrible customer service regardless of covid delays. Now they want us to drive all the way to fairview to pick the remaining couch up once it arrives which was never discussed previously.
I ordered a dining set 8/15 for Friday 9/25 delivery. Had a rude lady call me to tell me the furniture wouldnt arrive until mid/late December and told me to go in to store and exchange or get a refund. I went in Tuesday, picked another set that was in stock and guaranteed to delivery on 9/25. I even paid a few hundred more after the manager and my sales lady were compassionate and willing to work with me. I get told on 9/24 they wont deliver to me 9/25 but will deliver today. I work 1030 to 7pm every shift, they dont deliver that late. Molly the manager looked into and sad it was fixed I am still on for Friday. A little later Jerry calls to say no, he is more concerned with his guys working 12 hour shifts than my business. I have had this delivery day since 8/15 and it isnt easy for me to just get off for a day. Clearly there is lack of communication and they dont care about the customer. I will be going in to get a full refund. I do not recommend them at all.
I went to John V. Schultz to purchase a mattress and boxspring. Within five minutes of walking in the door, I was approached by a sales representative who asked if she could help me. She listened intently as I explained what I was looking for. I appreciated her attention, patience, and suggestions. She was able to satisfy all that I required - quality, price, and availability. I will definitely shop at John V. Schultz Furniture again, and I am looking forward to the delivery of my new mattress. Thank you, Trudy Newlin!
I would not recommend buying anything from John V. Schultz. I ordered a bedframe and headboard. When it arrived, it was missing 2 screws and 2 of the major pieces that hold the headboard in place were different than in the directions. I called the store and was passed back and forth between corporate and back to the store. Corporate told me that only the store can make the issue right when the store was telling me they couldnt. Currently, that bedframe is unsafe to use and new screws and parts were ordered but we havent received anything yet or had any updates. I have sent multiple emails with no response. I have called, left a message and have not heard anything back. They dont appear to care about their customers. My visit was very enjoyable! I wasn’t pressured by any of the salespeople, there were many options to choose from and once I was ready to speak to someone the salesman Frank was great! He was friendly, talkative, and was never too pushy! I let him know what items I wanted, he looked it all up and even gave me more options then was in store. Took the time to look up photos for me and explained every detail. Definitely recommend!
If I were able to rate 0 stars I would have. Im completely disappointed in the customer service that was offered. I ordered a bedroom set in December 2020. The bed just came yesterday 7/9/21 with several cracks in the bedframe and dresser. I called to speak with managers Janice and Bob. I have left several messages with no call back. This is unprofessional. I even asked to speak to the owner and nobody has his contact information or unable to give my contact information. I hope this review will get the attention of the owner or a manager to return my call.
Worst customer service and overall experience.Ordered furniture 1/3/21 with delivery date 3/23/21. Then I bought end tables . Had to have end tables delivered separately as delivery date got pushed to April with no notification. Called to set up delivery and told furniture wouldn’t be in until May. Received tables and the worst quality ever! Chips and steaks and metal casing around coffee table felt like rust and painted over! Called to return them told furniture won’t be in until June! Customer service girl Stephanie rude in phone and in person . I documented every time I called snd who I spoke with. Came in handy when Stephanie told me I’d have to pay a 15% restocking fee. Good thing I had my notes to tell her no that wasn’t what Serena told me.Salespeople sell then forget about you. Never ever will I recommend here to anyone.
Ken and Janet were very knowledgeable and friendly. They had excellent choices for me to consider. Im very very satisfied with the whole experience. I hope the delivery goes as well. Im excited about my new furniture. I would definitely recommend John V. Schultz to anyone who needed home furnishings.
John Schultz furniture is a joke on every level. They literally screwed up our entire order multiple time on different level. We waited for a month to get our sofa were given a delivery date delivery confirmation and the day of delivery (after I took a day off work) said there was something wrong with our financing. Then later in the day they found that it was their error but we still did not receive our sofa we were also told to come to the store to take a floor model entertainment centre after repeatedly trying to get the floor model entertainment centre we were told that it had been sold 2 weeks prior yet it sat there on their sales floor so now our living Room does not have an entertainment centre or a sofa It seems that nobody at John V knows how to do their job from their finance department to their sales staff to delivery. I would never attempt to purchase another piece of furniture from a company that after messing things up so badly didnt even have the decency to give us any level of customer service compensation.
I went to make a payment on a chair I had purchased. The balance owed was $1230.62. I told the clerk I was going to give her $231 so that I could get rid of the change. She applied the entire amount I gave her to the balance, which means she did not listen to what I said. She offered t correct the mistake, but I had somewhere else I had to be and couldnt wait. Another reason for the low score is that on the day I originally purchased the chair, finding a sales person was almost next to impossible.
My sales associate was Lloyd!! He was truly awesome. He took care of my elderly mom like she was his own. He got her a wheel chair, disinfected it and pushed her thru the store. Found us the perfect chair for her and then he pushed her all the way out to the car after we were done. He even put her hood on her jacket up over her head to help keep her warm. Amazing!! I’ve never received such wonderful customer service. He’s a gem!
Very unprofessional salespeople.Had a family member who wasn’t dressed the best who was looking to buy a mattress. When nobody came over to help them they went to the center desk where someone called for help over the radio. The response was “do they know how much a mattress costs?” The man on the radio didn’t know my family member was standing there and had overheard the conversation. Because they still needed a mattress and liked the one at the store they went forward with the purchase. When asked how they would be paying the salesperson went through The financial info and asked if there were any updates from what they had on file. He was caught off guard when my family member told him their updated income. He stated so you could basically buy this with cash?.Let this be a lesson, don’t judge a book by its cover. Just because it’s a big furniture store doesn’t mean it’s good.On another note the delivery guys were super nice and helpful.
Our initial intention was to begin looking for a new living room recliner and mattress and comparison shop but after working with Cody we made all our purchases at John V. Schultz. Cody never put pressure on us to buy anything. He provided us with options and information that helped us make decisions that were in our best interest. The mattress, accessories and recliner we purchased were a direct result of the outstanding service we received from Cody. We will be back again!
I was able to meet with a salesman, order a mattress and box spring after trying it and finish paying for it all in under a half hour. Kind staff, patient and thorough as well as fair. Asked about my price points and my requirements and then immediately showed me multiple great options. Cody Vandebor was great to work with and answered all my inquiries with patience and kindness and most importantly, knowledge! Thank you!
Went to John V Schultz Furniture in Erie, PA to find a sectional for our new home. A fabulous saleswoman, Trudy, helped us when we looked puzzled to try to find something after being in the store for about 20 minutes. Trudy has been in the business for a while and is very knowledgeable! Had sectional delivered to our home with no issues. Definitely will be back if looking for other furniture for our home!
What an awful experience…i ordered a bedroom set, dining room table, and living room set back in March. At that time I paid for the order in full and was told that all the items would be in at different times, but all by the end of May, “maybe sooner.” This was all no problem because I didn’t move until May. Fast forward to May…my bedroom set was in and scheduled for delivery, yay! They come to deliver it and one of my dressers was broken and the bed frame rails came in the wrong color….okay….no problem, things happen. A week later my dining room table comes in, no issues! A week after that they call me to tell me my new dresser is in…and that my living room furniture won’t be in until the beginning of June….okay, I scheduled my delivery for my dresser, what’s another couple weeks…I can wait. They deliver my dresser….it’s the same broken dresser…ummm okay….things happen, I get it. So after a couple of weeks not hearing anything I call to see what the status of everything is….my dresser is in but my living room furniture will not be in until the middle of June….okay…fine. The dresser comes in no problem! Yay…finally! So the following week I check in to see about my bed rails and my living room furniture, my rails are in but my living room furniture won’t be here until the end of June…now I’m getting upset, so I asked the girl in the customer service department why everything is getting pushed back so far…she rudely responds to me that it’s Covid manufacturing delays and I was told 3-4 months to get my furniture when I bought it….ummm no I wasn’t told that, if I had been told that, I wouldn’t be calling asking where my furniture was every couple of weeks….anyway I get the replacement rails scheduled for delivery. The day before the delivery I get my window…12:40pm - 3:40pm…okay, I work a FT job and don’t have anyone home all day so each time they come with a delivery, my parents have to go wait for it….they text me an hour early saying they’re ten minutes out, no one is at my house to receive the delivery….they won’t turn around and make me wait another week. When I call they tell me I was told to have someone there all day to receive the delivery….ummm again no I wasn’t told that because if I had been told that, someone would have been there all day to receive the delivery. As of today, part of my living room furniture has arrived but I’m still waiting for my loveseat. When I called today to check when it would be in, it was pushed back to the middle of July…what a joke. My family has been purchasing furniture from them for years….never again. I feel that I have been more than patient, and I understand with the craziness of the world people have been nasty….but quit blaming the customer for your company’s poor communication skills…your sales people and delivery teams are wonderful…your customer service department….yikes!
My salesperson was AMAZING!! His name is DeWitt Moffatt and he was great!! When my daughter was unsure about a bedroom he didn’t try and pressure her into something that she didn’t LOVE and I really appreciate that. He didn’t rush us and he answered any and all questions we had. He was very knowledgeable about the different beds we looked at and I ended up getting a bedroom set for myself!! I highly recommend him as a salesman and will absolutely go to him again!! Thank you so much!!
Julie was very helpful and was there to answer questions and give her expertise as well as give us time to look around and get a feel for what was out there. She also got us connected with Ken to help us through the design of someOf the rooms we were looking to improve. Information helped us with looking at our layout differently then we planned.
Initially I was happy with my purchase until it needed repaired as I had gotten the insurance on it. Long story short had a rip in the footrest of my recliner and a seam came apart on the arm of the recliner as well. A technician from the store showed up early January to repair the issues. When he was here he ripped the seam further and put a couple stitches on both ends to hold until he came back with the correct replacement pieces he needed, even know I took pictures and sent them in prior to the service appointment. Needless to say it was May before I saw anyone again. The technician came and just sewed the seam on the Ann rather than replacing and to boot he put the seat and footrest replacement piece on backwards! I’ve called numerous times and left messages about my displeasure and asked for a call back. Over 2 months later and still no response. I must say that I will never purchase anything there again and I’ve let everyone I know not to as well. Very poor customer service and just unacceptable!!UPDATE: A customer service manager reached out to me the next day after posting my review and addressed my issue. I am supposed to be receiving a new chair in October. Will keep you posted...
Jeff Marthers was an exceptional salesman. He was very personable and helpful. All of my questions were answered as he took extra time to look up and answer any question I had regarding several sectionals. Will shop here again and I believe I have filled my living room with my familys dream living room set.
Hit multiple places looking for a new mattress. Got to John V Schultz an hour before close. Waffling between firm and soft for the guest room. The one we decided in had a three week delivery. We needed it ASAP. Salesman Robert Heck searched the computer for in stock mattresses in our price range then proceeded to search the display beds to find one we could test. Robert truly went above and beyond to help us. We found it, worried that after all that effort we wouldn’t like it, but it was exactly what we wanted. I’d highly recommend him if you are looking for anything up there.
Waited for two weeks for delivery of our Temperpedic bed. Called us and said only half of it came in, I am guessing no frame. Relayed it would take two more weeks. Went to Matress firm, bought it cheaper and was delivered the next day! I am not sure what the problem is there but I will never shop there again.
We ordered a new sectional and chair and were told by the sales agent it would be delivered today. We spent the weekend clearing out the old and cleaning carpets in preparation for todays delivery. The sales associate at the time said all items were in stock. Nobody called so we called to check on delivery. They said no delivery until next week “possibly” !!!! They said it was only an estimated delivery date. We were specific we only wanted it if it would come by today. They said no problem. Now after spending thousands we have nothing to sit on in our home until who knows when. Could not be more disappointed in John V Schultz. Considering canceling and going elsewhere.
Julie was very informative on style, seat depths, comfort as i showed her my list of possibilities. i have limited use of my right leg and she took that into consideration as she showed me around. it was a very delightful, no pressure experience and she helped me find my perfect loveseat AND fabric!
Expect when you shop at John V Schultz for your delivery date to get pushed back 5-6 months. No one will contact you to let you know, and when you call customer service for the second time, they tell you that they have no control over it or any obligation to tell you.We ordered a custom couch in September, sales person (who was very nice and helped us to find exactally what we wanted) told us late November to early December delivery. Called to check on it in early November, and was told the date had been moved to late February with no explination, but they would check to see if there was additional information and someone would get back to me.2 weeks later, no contact so I called again. Different person I spoke with said the same date and that it was the manufacturer that sets the date. She also let me know that custom orders always take 5-6 months and they again have no obligation to let a customer know their date has been changed because they have so many customers and the dates fluctuate. She informed me that there was essentially no one to call about us being given misinformation when we were on the sales floor.Im more angry about the lack of communication than anything else. There should be a system to let your customers, who are PAYING for something, know that the date has changed. Or at the very least have your sales people trained on how long custom orders take. Thank the Lord we are not paying on it until we have the couch in our house, but at this rate we could have it paid for by the time we get it 😡😡
We were very pleased with the customer service we received when picking out our sofa set. Our saleswoman was very thorough and helpful. However, we purchased/ordered the set in late August/early September and were told our delivery date was October 10. We did not receive the set on that date and were told we won’t get it until end of February! That’s a 6 month wait. I understand that it’s not the fault of the store but instead, the manufacturer. But that’s a LONG time to wait for something we’ve already paid in full, with no indication from the store that they’ll do anything to compensate us for this time. If we had known at time of purchase how long it would take, we would’ve ordered something else or have gone somewhere else. Very frustrating.
I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful store in early 2017 where I was met by a knowledgeable, friendly, courteous staff. They were eager to help me find the perfect mattress, foundation and frame. Pickup at the warehouse was scheduled and I thought I was on my way to several years of comfortable rest. After picking it up and setting it up at home I immediately laid down to try out the luxury...to my dismay, it was NOT what I ordered and hard as a rock! Customer service suggested I try it for a few weeks as I may grow to like it. WRONG! There was nothing comfortable about it so 2 weeks later they delivered the exact mattress I ordered! I was in love! Best nights sleep I had in years. LO N BEHOLD ...2 years 9 months later the pillow top is lumpy and very uncomfortable! I complained for 3 months to Schultz and the manufacturer... Beauty Rest. A technician was sent to examine the mattress twice. Both Schultz and Beauty Rest refuse to adhere to the warranty and repair or replace it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING A MATTRESS FROM HERE...especially if youre disabled and had several back surgeries, such as myself. YOU WILL BE VERY DISSATISFIED!!! I have a 20 yr old Beauty Rest that has stood the test of time in my spare bedroom and its more comfortable than this fairly new one!!!!!
I connected with Mark Maruca as I have furniture needs for 15 group homes and wanted someone who would be dedicated to helping me out. Mark (and his brother) have been very helpful in identifying appropriate furniture (based on my initial request) to meet the needs of the clients in our care.
Do not recommend. Customer service is nice, but nobody knows what they’re doing. I purchased a sofa chase back in February and since, it has serviced and broken three times in a different spot each time. So, I spent 4.5 hours in the store because I decided to exchange, and it was too much for the staff to handle. After confirming with my sales woman, the order was placed. She was wonderful. I was patient and understanding but now I’m loosing my patience. I ordered the love seat with a matching recliner. The love seat had a center console. What I was delivered was a totally different color and didn’t have a center console. They seem to only take action quickly once we have to complain publicly.
I typically don’t make posts about my frustrations but I am so irritated and unimpressed with John V. Schultz. When you spend a decent amount of money on furniture, you expect quality. I know in the future I will be taking my business elsewhere. I always thought of John V. Schultz as a decent furniture company but they have really gone downhill.I ordered our bedroom set April 23, 2020. It was suppose to be delivered May 6, 2020. I received a call that week notifying me that it will have to be rescheduled for May 16, 2020 because of shipping delays.. Fine. Our bedroom set got delivered on May 16, 2020.. although very similar, the bed frame that was delivered was the wrong one, noting a $500 price difference. I called them the next day and was rescheduled to receive the correct bed frame for June 10, 2020. On June 10, our correct bed frame was delivered, however, the head board was damaged. The delivery men told us that they will be calling us within a week to have it fixed and that we will receive a new head board… a week goes by, no call. I called them on June 19 and asked them when I should be expecting a new headboard. I was told that they can deliver it Tuesday, June 23. Well today is Tuesday… never received a notification that they will be coming so I called. Apparently they forgot to schedule me for today after being told last week that I should be expecting them.
One star is generous. Purchase sofas several years ago and was very dissatisfied with the quality. Promised myself that I would never shop here again. Ordered from Ashley on line. $149.00 for delivery. Who shows up, with an incomplete order and no warning or heads up? John V. Spoke with someone in the phone who refused to give me any contact information for a supervisor or an explanation. Finally heard from them last night ( left a message)-- a week and a half later. I can say that I have not enjoyed sitting in an empty living room wondering if I will ever have resolution to delivery. Also, I have received email ads running sales showing my items up to $140. Less than when I ordered. This has not been a good experience.
I ordered a sofa , via the phone after I saw and read reviews on line. The girl on the phone at John V Schultz was wonderful. When we arrived the next day for pick up, we decided to stop at the store on Peach st. first to browse and pick up my order sheet. I met the woman whom I had spoken to on the phone and a gentleman who helped me. After seeing and sitting in the sofa I picked out, I decided on another one in the store. With none in stock, I was very grateful they sold me the floor display. The people that work there are wonderful, greet you when you come in, are not pushy, very helpful and very kind. I love that they let me change my order because I am very happy with my sofa, good quality, and good price. Also, I would like to say a big thank you to the gentleman that loaded the couch on my truck and even strapped it in. I recommend anyone to shop there.
My husband and I were looking for a sectional that we could have delivered quickly for the holidays. Cody, your sales rep, responded to my online chat through your website within seconds! He said there would be a few options and that he would be happy to help us. We hopped in the car to make the 45 minute trip to get started on our mission. Cody was at the store when we arrived and knew exactly what we were looking for. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and motivated. He was working with other customers while we looked around and he checked back with us several time to answer any questions or offer suggestions. He was on his game and had answers for all of our questions! We had a few other questions between order and delivery and he was available to help! Cody’s customer service skills and knowledge is outstanding! He even notified us that he was going out of town unexpectedly and that if we needed anything who to contact! He wins salesman of the year award in our book! We look forward to ordering again from him in the future! We could not have been happier with our experience at your store! Thank you thank you! My in store and buying experience was good, I was able to find a 2 pc. Sectional at a reasonable price and was well assisted during purchasing.Delivery and customer service was a nightmare. I was warned that delivery would have a long lead time because of covid and this was fine with me. I purchased in store 10/4 and was delighted that delivery was scheduled for 11/10, leading up to this date I received roughly a dozen phone calls confirming this delivery date. Its 11/9 and I receive a call that due to a manufacturing defect we need to reschedule, new date is 11/23, roughly a dozen phone calls once more confirming delivery date but it seemed to change to 11/20, I was fine with this it just seemed very disorganized.Its 11/20, I receive the two large boxed up parts of the two pc. Sectional and I start to open it up, the one part has a defect with the leg so I call it in to get repaired. I open up the second box and its the completely wrong piece of the sectional, its some random love seat thats not even on there website. I call this in, send pictures, give all the information I can about what transpired. The customer service sent out someone to repair the couch on 11/23, so this has been taken care of but Im still left hanging on the other part of the couch. At this point Ive called many times and the customer service is informing me about all these internal issues about the delivery team not returning calls and they cant find the rest of my couch, I still dont have a date of when or how this will get resolved but Im left with a boxed up love seat I didnt order in my living room over the thanksgiving holiday for everyone to see.I call 11/30 try to get a hold of a manager about my incomplete delivery, the customer service refuses to connect me to a manager and is just now putting in an exchange because they still cant find my couch, the expected exchange delivery is 12/23 and I have not gotten a date for when with mystery love seat will be picked up after requesting it to be.After this experience Im shocked they are still in business, its 2020 figure out how to track your products and manage inventory!
Salesman was friendly and not too pushy. Mattress is wonderful and price was great with complete white glove delivery! Showroom is a bit overwhelming and crowded for first-time mattress buyers, but with the direction of the salesman we figured out what we were looking for just as well. Thank you, John V Schultz!

I would give them zero stars if I could! I ordered furniture from Ashley Home Store which was to be delivered through this company. Furniture was to be delivered Sept 1. The week before I reached out to the company to confirm the delivery only to find out that it had been rescheduled without my knowledge to Sept 10 (would have been nice for someone to tell me this, I would have never known had I not called them myself). On Sept 9 I again called to confirm that my delivery would be there Sept 10... I informed the woman I spoke to that they were doing construction on the main entrance of my building and that I would need to direct the delivery people to a different entrance, I verified that she had the correct phone number for me so that this could happen. On the morning of Sept 10 I happened to look out my window and see the delivery truck pulling away without having delivered my items. I called and spoke to Carrie who said that the drivers left because they couldnt get a hold of me. Not once did they call!!!! First I was told that the number they had on my account was different from my actual number, but eventually she backtracked that and admitted that they had the correct number. She claimed that there was no manager or anyone else available for me to speak to and that they only thing she could do was reschedule the deliver for a week later, on a day that didnt work for me. Then she hung up on me when I complained about the service! I called back, the same woman answered and told me there was literally nothing she could do to fix the problem besides connect me to the voicemail of a manager who was off for the day. She placed me on hold and then got back on the line saying that a manager would call me back in an hour maybe. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Do not waste your time, energy, or money attempting to buy anything and have it delivered by this company. They clearly do not know what they are doing and lie. It is unacceptable. It is not worth the frustration. I hope this review saves other people from making the gigantic mistake of dealing with John V. Schultz!
Its a beautiful place to walk into. Additionally, Damon was very friendly, honest, helpful, and most importantly patient as I pondered all my options. The mattress I purchased was at a good price and I adore the 90 price match policy through the company. It shows they really care about open and honest communication with their customers.
We purchased a new couch, when we purchased our home. Jean was amazing and made our buying experience super easy. I would recommend her to anyone that is planning on shopping at John VsWe opted to Pick up our couch, instead of paying $100 for Delivery. However, the day we showed up at the Warehouse to pick up the couch, we were told that they did not have it ready, they werent exactly sure where it was, and anyone who would know was gone for the day.We took a trip back and talked to Jean. She got us Free Delivery. Delivery was great! They come in with the couch in pieces, and within minutes it was set up and they were back out the door.Overall, our buying experience was mixed. I wouldve given 3 stars for the review, but one quick trip back to Jean and she fixed it. That earned her the extra star. Happy to see a Business and Sales Staff, willing to do anything to make a Bad Situation Right!Great Job, Jean! Im sure youll be seeing us again!
It was a nice place, but when we went to pick up the bed, it had a noticeable mark on the headboard. I was not happy, but i knew it was the only bed left so i covered it with some dark furniture polish. And the mark was on the lower bottom. But when you pay good money you just dont expect it to be on your new piece! And you cant see it right away because its all packed up for delivery.
Ordered bedroom set for my daughter. They gave me the date & time for delivery. Sent a text saying they will be at my address in 10 mins at that time 4:20 pm. At 5:30 still no one. I went to call and at the same time they called saying there truck broke down and can’t deliver to me today. Very disappointed . I know accidents happen, I’m sure they have another truck that could’ve delivered, So they said they could deliver the next day. The bedroom set was delivered. After I came home I asked my daughter where the lights were for her headboard. She said it only came with one. The day I purchased it they said it came with 2 lights on the headboard. My daughter said the guy told her the full size only comes with one. I said oh ok. So where is the 1 light. She said oh they said they didn’t have no bolts to place it on the headboard they would drop some screws off in couple days. I said wow. Been waiting a month for the bed set to come in , which I already knew that becuz of COVID. Then truck broke down so She had to sleep on the floor another night . Then they don’t have all the screws for the main reason she wanted the bed becuz of the lights. So it’s been about 1 week & half and the light is still sitting on the nightstand becuz I haven’t heard from John V Schultz about bringing the screws etc to put light up on the headboard. So I’m assuming I’ll go And find the screws to place it myself. I gave 3 stars becuz I paid $175 for delivery & Set up & wasn’t finished. The bedroom was set is nice. Looks really well in her room. The rails and headboard don’t seem to sturdy and the footboard area has a gap. Overall set up looks nice I hope it holds up.
I recently bought a new bed at John V Schultz and couldnt be happier with my whole experience. The salesman, Mark Donofrio, is great at his job. He really listened to my needs and was able to show me the perfect bed at a great price. I even got free next day delivery. I definitely recommend shopping here, and be sure to ask for Mark!
I just had a very pleasant experience purchasing a couch at Jon V. I worked with Morgan and she was delightful and humorous and made the process very easy. I certainly hope this couch lives up to my expectations but I am confident if there are any concerns that Morgan will be able to assist me. I’d also like to add that I appreciate that the store has a diverse workforce and hope that’ll continue in the future. Follow up: I received my couch today and I love it. The delivery men were friendly and efficient. Overall, I’m very pleased.
We had a wonderful experience picking out our new bed and foundation. We hate looking for beds and our salesman Mark Maruca made our experience very pleasant. He was very personable, relatable and funny. We laughed a lot. We will look for him in the future for our purchases!!
My family and I are incredibly disappointed that the furniture we ordered in late august will not be here until January (they say). We ordered a dining room table, 10 chairs, a two-section sofa with a chaise and a regular sofa. The original delivery date was November 4th. We were called shortly before that and informed the only furniture being delivered was the table and four of the chairs. We were also told the rest of it wouldnt be here until February 2021. At that point we simply wanted to cancel the living room furniture and get our money back. I spoke with a manager who told me her computer showed that they would be getting the living room furniture in on November 30th and it could be delivered to us on December 2nd. She talked me into not cancelling basically. Today I received a call and was told that it wont be in until January. Who knows if thats true or not. They have no credibility at this point. The customer service rep on the phone told me they have had trouble since March. I understand that manufacturing has been impacted due to COVID. However, if they knew that there were problems since March and I ordered the furniture in August then they were incredibly deceitful by not telling us that. It seems they will say anything to make a sale. The lack of integrity and character of this company is disappointing and I recommend shopping somewhere else if you can.
We purchased our furniture August 2021. They said Probably November it would be in. They called in November and said not until May we have waited patiently and they finally called yesterday I understand Covid has put a damper on things but that’s ridiculous especially when we pay cash. This will definitely be the last time we buy anything from them again

He worked with my husband and me until we found the perfect combination of style and fabric for the sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman that we ultimately ordered. Then he found us even better pricing than we had anticipated, which was a very pleasant surprise. His great service, along with John V Schultz policies and warranties, gave us the confidence that we are getting the best product and service possible. Just bought living room furniture and was very appreciative of how much time they spent with my wife and myself. We went through several different styles and manufacturers until we found what we were looking for at the price we were willing to pay. Both Matt and Caleb were very patient salesmen and walked us through each design we put together. Excellent service.
We have ordered furniture now 3 times! Our first 2 experiences were good. But our 3rd time was great! Mark M was a phenomenal sales guy and baby sitter lol. He was very patient with us and our 5 year old, 3 year old, and 5 month old! I would recommend to go see Mark M when you go! Thanks Mark!! Cannot wait to get our furniture!
Easiest furniture buying experience Ive ever had. We worked with Jenn Haggerty and couldnt be happier with the service received. The process took 3 weeks from first look to final purchase and she handled countless emails/questions perfectly before our decision was made not once trying to pressure us into a purchase (which tends to happen in sales). She made everything easy and nonintimidating. We were treated like we were purchasing a house full of furniture instead of just a sofa. Our perfect sofa was delivered 3 days after purchase from very courteous and mindful movers. Wonderful, low pressure experience. We will definitely be returning to John V and Jennifer for all of our furniture needs.
Terrible customer service department! We ordered a table and chairs and only received 4 of 6 chairs and have contacted the store and customer service over the last 3 weeks to find out where our other two chairs are and nobody has been able to answer us and have not called even though they said they would each time we called. Then a week ago we receive our table and it’s damaged. Called customer service again and they say send pics to their email. So I do and guess what? Haven’t heard anything at all. At this point I’m just gonna contact the BBB since businesses do nothing until that happens for some reason. So we have a huge damaged table sitting in our living room taking up space. I would be very weary to deal with John V Shultz!Update 6/14/21:Finally got everything we ordered almost a year later. Had to call 6 times to get the final piece for our sectional that was never delivered. I have updated our rating from one star to three since it did finally get done. However it was a headache the whole way.
DeWitt was amazing and super helpful when I was trying to find a new mattress! Not only was he very knowledgeable and personable, he wasn’t pushy or forceful with trying to make a sale. I was very comfortable with him and he helped to find me the perfect mattress! I will definitely go back to him for all my furniture needs!
Bought a couch and love seat. Power recliner. After 1 month the power cord breaks . Call and they said they would send me a new one. After a week and not receiving anything I call and they havent even ordered like they said they would. They ask me to take a picture to see if the warehouse has one. So I do. I ask for in the meantime my couch doesnt work can I get a portable battery until it arrives . They wont answer . In fact its been 2 days now and still no answer if the warehouse even has the cord . I feel like I am being put on the back burner after spending thousands...
I have never dealt with worse customer service than I have when trying to buy my couches.I placed my order on October 13, 2020 for sectional couches for both my game room and living room.On October 30th the wrong couch was delivered to my house, and only 2 of the 3 pieces. As soon as we discovered that the couch was the wrong one - approximately 15 minutes after the delivery men left - I called. The people that I initially spoke to told me the wrong information (they weren’t even looking up the correct couch). They then tried to blame me for ordering the wrong couch, which again is inaccurate.I was supposed to get a call back on Friday(10/30) but did not receive one. By Monday, November 2nd I finally called back. I received different answers from FOUR people before asking to speak to a manager. I was told that one couch now wouldnt be in until January 2021, and the other in February 2021, even though it was their fault that the wrong couch was delivered in the first place.When I spoke with the manager on 11/2/20 he said that the system had gone down that day and he bet that the couches would actually be in sooner. This is after he gave me an attitude at the beginning of the call. He promised that he would call back on Tuesday morning - November 3rd - after his call with corporate to find out if the system was back up.After TWO weeks I still had not received a return phone call. So I tried once again to call on November 19th, and was promised yet again that I would receive a return call by the end of the day. This did not happen either.On November 20th I emailed two of the individuals who I had dealt with what was going on. I did not receive an email back from either.I would highly recommend going elsewhere if you want customer service individuals who will help to get you answers about your purchase. I’m still trying to get answers on when I will have any furniture in my home.
My salesperson, Sarah, was very helpful in assisting me in choosing a sectional. She was polite, and like others have stated, the associates dont follow you around the store. She was able to return my phone call with no problems, when I left a message on her direct extension.I like the furniture I bought, but only one piece of the couch was delivered. I was in total shock when the delivery arrived, because I had no forewarning that the whole couch was not there. None the less, my delivery team, Tim and Scott were great. Very personable and apologetic.The phone/customer service was terrible. Im very, very disappointed. I must have called 5 times over the course of 40 minutes. I was on their automated hold for over 5 minutes each time, before I hung up and called back. It wasnt just this day. I had trouble contacting them prior to my delivery as well, at various times of the afternoon and evening. The woman I did speak with (when I finally got someone to answer the phone), was rather unhelpful and rude. I requested to speak to a manager, and she (i wont mention her name) initially wouldnt let me, telling me that, it depends on what you want. NOT a good way to make customers happy! It was nothing but one excuse after another, as to why they dont answer phones in that store, and why they couldnt deliver until later in the week.Once I did get to speak to customer service manager, Ed, he was very apologetic and explained everything to me. He then made some calls to see if i could get my couch delivered to me ASAP. He was able to make accommodations to have the other half of my couch delivered that afternoon. (And this is WHY I wanted to speak to a manager - apology, explanation, and solution to the problem).This has been my 4th buying experience at JV Schultz over the past 10 years. This is the worst experience Ive had, ever! I highly doubt Ill ever go back. It only takes one unpleasant experience from only one unpleasant employee to turn a person off.
The lack of communication is unacceptable. This is the second time that my pick-up date has come and gone with absolutely NO information provided to me regarding my order or the fact that my order is NOT actually on the truck. No one has called to say that my order isnt available. This is the second time that I was told that my order WOULD be available for pickup, this is the second time that Ive have to make the necessary arrangements to retrieve my large item, this is the second time that Ive had to waste my time and money, and the second time Ive been told, Whoops its not here, it will be here on Friday. Communication is important, and the customer service team at John V. Schultz doesnt seem to want to provide that, or fill the order that Ive already paid for.UPDATE: I spoke with the Customer Care Manager, she was extremely helpful and apologetic. Id suggest that her team strive to offer the same kind of customer service. I will alter this review once the issue has been remedied.
I purchased a beautiful dining table and chairs for a very reasonable price. My salesman, Dewitt, was very helpful and attentive. The delivery drivers arrived on time and quickly assembled the pieces. I am completely satisfied with my experience and I will continue to be a loyal customer.
Frank Iacovetta was an awesome salesman! We never felt rushed or pushed into a sale. He gave us a lot of helpful information and then let us decide what we felt would work best.As promised, we got a call the day before delivery confirming the time our purchase would be at the house. Then on delivery day we received another call alerting us that the truck would be arriving in 15-20 minutes. I thought this was especially nice as I had time to put the dogs outside and be on the lookout!The two delivery men were very nice and polite. I have a hard time hearing and they were very kind in making sure I understood what they were saying. Set up was quick and easy! They made sure everything was cleaned up before they left.From start to finish, our experience with John V. Schultz Furniture was A+++!!Debi Bartosek
When we walked in we were greated by Ken. Very nice and friendly. He paged Frank I for us, who we dealt with earlier this year when we bought our living room furniture. Hes always friendly and professional. Helped us find the perfect bed for us. Goes above and beyond. Not pushy and we like that. Excellent experience.
One lady with short blonde hair wasnt professional or didnt have customer service skills.She didnt greet us,offer help or point us in the direction of someone who could help us. She wouldnt give eye contact either. I walked by her a few times even paused and nothing. After about 10 mins I walked away and found a nice guy named John who assisted me.
DeWitt is an amazing salesman there go to him, didnt rush, didnt push anything. There is another salesman there that I overheard telling the customer they should just buy now now now. Told them to stop comparing. Didnt catch his name though but DeWitt was great go to him.
After ordering and paying up front for a desk then scheduling delivery, Ive received 2 notifications of delivery to occur. Thus far both deliverys have not occurred.Ive never received notification they wont be delivered as I was advised by customer service over the phone twice. Ive needed to call directly only to be told, after 17 minutes on hold with customer service, its the manufacturers problem. This isnt exactly helpful nor does it resolve the poor customer experience or inadequate communication from your service/delivery team.Your customer service department has never once notified me anything was changing from my scheduled delivery which Ive ensured I was home and available for twice.Overall poor communication, inadequate support, and lacking customer experience. Im disappointed as we have a bedroom set ordered and scheduled for delivery through your company. With this current experience Ill be surprised if we arent posting a second review of a poor experience.
What an awesome store! So much to choose from and affordable prices. We were met at the door by Mike Schriml (furniture specialist) what a knowledgeable man.He literally spent 2 hours with us helping us pick the right living room furniture that fit our needs! We love our new sofa and recliner and couldn’t be happier!! Thank you Mike!!
My experience was excellent. Robert Heck greeted me and asked me what I was looking for. He took his time to show me around and let me know what was whatI did make a great purchase lol now Im in debt but I do love my new bedroom set and mattress. I cant wait for it to be delivered.
I live in MA and purchased a lift recliner for my father over the phone. The sales person was extremely helpful, even sitting in the chair to judge comfort and fit for a person my fathers size. The transaction was painless and was handled quickly. On the delivery end, the chair showed up on time and was set up as expected. Again, quick and painless. I wouldnt hesitate to call again!
When my wife and I entered the store we were met by sales representative Jean Johnson. She immediately directed us toward our area of interest in bedding and bed frames and gave us good information. She even researched some options that might be available to us concerning products that were not in the showroom. The fact that she gave us some space to browse the displays and discuss the options was much appreciated. However, she was always available to answer any questions we had.So often the impression a person gets of a place of business is formed by the friendliness and expertise of the person initially waiting on them. In this instance, at John V. Schultz, the impression was excellent. We bought a product we were hoping to find.
Had a specific mission to buy a mattress. Not a typical buying trip. The sales person Robert Heck. Did everything he could possibly do to make this purchase happen. Unfortunately Mr Heck could not make it happen. It was not his fault!! The particular item was not in stock at the warehouse in several different brands. A great thank you is in order for Mr. Heck for going above and beyond to try to satisfy me.
As we entered the store, we were greeted by a young lady who asked us if she could help us. We told her we were looking for a mattress. She led us to the mattress area and, after asking us several questions about our sleep preferences, directed us to the mattress she thought best suited our needs. We tried it out, discussed its merits, and moved on to the next recommendation. After trying 3 others, we were convinced that the first mattress was, indeed, the best for us. Katy, I believe was her name, (KSAN is listed as salesperson on our contract) never pressured us, only presented us with alternatives. She was very personable and considerate. She spent a very long time with us and never rushed us along. As a result, we decided to buy the first mattress she suggested, which, by-the-way, was NOT the most expensive of the 4 mattresses we tried. The manager of the store was readily available to answer any questions and also treated us with utmost respect and consideration. I would highly recommend John V. Schultz and plan to return in the near future to purchase other needed furniture.
Cody was the sales representative, he stayed on track and was able to accommodate all of our needs. Very professional and accepted all of our requests without making me feel like this was a high pressure sale. Would definitely use this company again and would suggest that he be our sales rep. Happy holidays.
We found exactly what we were looking for. We have a very small space to work with and Gary took the time to measure each piece of furniture to let us know if it will fit. We had to go with a customizable couch, so we were able to fit it to our needs. We really appreciated all of the help Gary gave us since as we were leaving we found out it was way past his quitting time. He didnt rush us or pressure us into buying anything. It was truly great experience.
Visited the store for the 2nd time this week to purchase a couch. Intentionally went in gym shorts and a T-shirt as this place is pretty awful at stereotyping their customers based on my past experience. They wouldn’t budge another $50 to get a couch down to $1,000 and let’s face it, there is a huge markup. The manager didn’t help. So for $50 I walked. Tried to encourage them to compromise to keep the money local. Little did they know that depending on how they treated me on that purchase, was going to dictate me buying a house full of furniture from them which I already had picked out and that I had bought thousands of dollars worth of furniture from them in the last. Lesson learned? Don’t treat your customers poorly because of how they might be dressed. It might be worthwhile to compromise when you have money in front of your face ready to be spent.
What an amazing establishment! Jeff Marthers was awesome, he made sure to fully listen and understand what my needs and wants were and made it happen with a brand new King sized mattress!! I am beyond grateful for his amazing customer interaction!! I cant wait to fall in heaven when I get my new King sized mattress!!

2022-03-17My 77 year old mother was in the market for a new couch. I have had success in the past with John V so I decided to take her there. Mike and Ken were amazing. Showed he so many options. Ken was amazing at assisting her to find a material and color that she was pleased with. They were more concerned in keeping the price lower than she was. Good to see employees that truly care about there customers in this day and age. Well done gentlemen.

2022-03-26Matt was very helpful. He spent a great deal of time with us without constantly trying to up sale. As a result we made a new friend and purchased a lot more (all the furniture for our new home) than what we came in to accomplish (just get some ideas). We greatly appreciated his knowledge, his being willing to admit if he didnt know the answer but taking the time to find said answer, and his ability to guide us to exactly what we were looking for. I work in sales and Matt made the our shopping experience very pleasant indeed.

2021-08-30My previous experiences with this store were actually very positive. My wife ordered a bed online and it was delivered to our house a month and a half later. We set up the bed and it broke within 5 minutes of us sitting on it. After many calls to corporate I finally got to talk to a human being who said they would send out a replacement but would not offer any time range on when we received it. I offered to keep the bed and repair it for a discount and they offered me 10% of the original purchase price. Meanwhile we have a broken bed and are out the money we used to pay for it. This happened about a 4 months ago and I have not heard a thing from the company. I’m very disappointed in the quality and the customer service.

2022-03-29I want to thank Brian Lydic for his amazing assistance this evening. We have been contacting the store in regards to furniture we had ordered prior to Thanksgiving without our salesman connecting with us. Furniture has been delayed 4 times. Brian was able to help us look at furniture and assist us with protector. Really appreciate his customer service he displayed. I think if we had not spoken to him , we would have definitely looked elsewhere. Thank you Brian !!!

When we finally made our selection; they split the commission which I felt was most gracious. They work very fairly and honestly. I would shop there again and recommend your store to others.

2022-05-21Being able to look freely was a pleasure. The salesman was very accommodating by checking in with us regularly to see if we had questions or concerns. After making a decision on a purchase we were treated with kindness and ease in making the final paperwork go smoothly. The salesman made the entire process easy and painless. I would shop at John V. Schultz anytime and refer others to shop there also.

2022-05-29The gentleman that helped my family tried his best to answer my questions. He didnt seem to have the knowledge of the product since he was reading the same information I could see online.I was told the day before I would get $50.00 off of my purchase which in the grand sceam of things was not that much but it nonetheless was not taken off our bill.Overall it was a pleasant experience. They were not pushy and were willing to make the process happen as quickly as possible.

2022-04-18HORRIBLE customer service!!! I have been having issues with my couch for a year (since the day we purchased) and I have had to call and send emails almost monthly. STILL NO RESOLUTION. We spent a VERY significant amount of money in their store you would think there would be a little bit better customer service.I have had to call repeatedly until I get answers.They are a vendor for another company and ALL the information we received from the sales rep was wrong!! No fault to him, they clearly need to provide better education.
