Thought this was unique and yummy for breakfast. We went with friends who knew the menu so we tried a few things to share. We had the Jerusalem egg/cheese bagel that had a wonderful spread with a little kick. We also split the pistachio bun and the chocolate bun-yum again, we tried the French toast like cream and fruit topped bread, also good (can’t remember the name). The cappuccinos were excellent. We went early bc there always seems to be a line. We will definitely repeat.
The smoked salmon Jerusalem bagel is a masterpiece. All the pastries are perfect, with incredible subtlety of flavors. The babka I think is the best I’ve had and is lightly brushed with orange blossom water (I think) so it has a hint of a floral flavor. Yum wish I lived next door!
K far has very good food and desserts but they lack on customer serviceToday it was our worst experience ever: we have our last day visiting our kids in Philly and went for brunch. They told us for 90 minutes wait time to get a table, and we were fine with thatAfter 90 minutes, instead gave us the table they told us “we are sorry but we are out of any food for the rest of the day”This is outrageous, they don’t care at all about the customersLong story short we waist 90 minutes on Sunday and can’t have any brunch !!!!Thank you very much for ruin our Sunday K FarSo help yourselves and do not go anymore yo this terrible place. They are only interested in making money but no on care about customers at all !!!!
We ordered avocado toast, salmon Jerusalem bagel sandwich, tehina chocolate chip cookie, and some coffee beverages. One thing I will say is the toast and the sandwich were very very greasy... And I like butter and olive oil.. but that was way too greasy (times 10) the flavors were okay. The cookie was just okay (also very greasy). Coffee was fine. My boyfriend really liked the sandwich and the toast though, minus the cookie
Amazing! My wife and I flew in especially to come to K’far and 2 other israeli restaurants. After talking to Ben, the manager, and explain why we came to try as much food as possible, he went above and beyond with his service, suggestions, and spoiling us with a few extra items from the menu on the house. As a restaurant manager for 10+ years, this is not to be taken for granted! Amazing service! Amazing food! And a shout out to Sophie the server, the kitchen, and Ben for making the meal extra special!
The food seemed good. There is a fundamental issue with their half-service setup. I waited 30 minutes for a very simple menu item because their servers are food runners and the customer orders through an app. Without anyone to check on us we had no way of letting them know they forgot about our food, hence the 30 minute wait until we gave up and asked for a refund. We know they forgot because my partner got her salad and a table that was sat10-15 minutes after us got their food before I did. The fact that not even an apology was offered made the whole thing worse. But again, their system for ordering and getting food to tables will reproduce this issue because it relies on them getting the order right the first time. An easy to correct and forgivable mistake was made much worse because of it. They ought to consider including in their training for their staff to actually check on tables.
Food was great, service and timing was odd. My dining companion got their food 15 minutes before i did. We both ordered breakfast sandwiches. the Special pastry of the day came 10 minutes later. The table of three next to us had the same issue. All food was amazing, Yemenite latte was tasty.
Ordered the smoked salmon bagel, took about ten minutes to be ready. The food was tasty but a little too greasy for my tastes. $11 was a little pricey for what you get. I would definitely choose other bakeries for a more traditional lox bagel but its definitely a unique sandwich and if thats what youre looking for, definitely recommend this place.
Kfar cafe serves an excellent latte. They also have delicious lattes & pastries. The chocolate babka is my favorite pastry. They have a few seats indoor and outdoor but if you come on a weekend it can be hard to get a seat. You can order online for pickup if you want to take it to go. It’s also super close to Rittenhouse square if you want to take your coffee and pasties to go and enjoy them in the park!
So happy that this place lived up to the hype.Ambiance- 10/10, this place is a millennial paradise. Whoever did the interior, I want them to design my house.Baked goods- 10/10, the rugelach are unreal and the chocolate babka was a delightBagel- 9/10, crispy, crunchy, tastyService- 10/10, everyone was beyond friendly and super accommodatingTotally understand why they’re packed / sold out on the daily!
Overall the experience was good, but not mind blowing. Service was great and the space was nice but the food left a little to be desired, didn’t blow me away like Zahav. The chicken terrine was flavored well but dry and the chips weren’t that great. The Arabic salad was tasty but ultimately a little boring. The caviar with labneh and Jerusalem bagel was exceptional. The standout was the steak entree, perfectly cooked and all the accompaniments were great. The risotto was more of a stew but had good flavors. We missed ordering the lamb shank because they ran out but it looked great at the table next to us
The latest Solomonov creation. A Israeli style bakery with the modern decor and exciting flavor profiles of a classic Solomonov establishment. We arrived at around 12:15 and waited in line for about 20 minutes. Having opened at 8am and with a limited supply, all the major pastries were sold out as well as a few other menu items. The walnut cake (gluten free) was great. Light, crumbly, and delicious. The salmon bagel wasn’t memorable but the salted trout toast was a highlight. An egg is baked inside the toast created a texture heaven. We tried the ricotta fig toast after which simply couldn’t compete with the vibrant flavors of the trout. It was good, but almost boring at that point. The Yemenite latte is also a must. Worth a visit to check out the hype, but plan the order in which you’ll eat your toasts. It matters more than you’d think.
So good! Food, service, ambiance on point. Will definitely be going back. Hesitantly got to smoked trout toast and it was insanely tasty. Moussaka was the best I’ve had and the lamb shank was really good as well. Only critique would be there was a tad too much salt at times. Our waiter was soooo friendly and helpful!
Great bustling vibe in a Saturday for lunch. Beyond being one of the most photogenic restaurants in the city, everything in the menu seems amazing. We enjoyed a variety of sweet treats, cappuccino, and a tuna melt. Super friendly staff and even had a chance to meet the owner when we inquired about a delicious-looking item in the pickup window.Definitely coming back soon, maybe for a nightcap.
Everything. was. awesome. its hard to find a place this new that doesnt come off as inexperienced or halfhearted. from the well seasoned solomonov team im super fortunate that i got to eat here before it got too busy.everyone gets the bread and butter cause its flawless and simple but dont sleep on all other parts of the apps menu. cauliflower was savory and sweet delight. and the mousaka had the perfect saute crisp profile on the outside with a perfectly seasoned and not overcooked center of veggies. the tartar was well balanced with every imagineable texture just amplified; lightly dressed tuna in a bed of an exceptional version of egg salad. get it.
Great food but very ineffective ordering system since COVID. Even if you order ahead be ready to wait a while in a crowd of people on the sidewalk milling around. They currently have outdoor seating and a heater to eat your food when you get it. Eating at Rittenhouse Square is also a good option.
Another successful Cook n Solo restaurant! We only went for breakfast, but would love to have dinner here as well in the future. The mini chocolate babka really is a must have and we unfortunately did not have enough room for a pistachio sticky bun. But the Tehina and Date molasses toast and the grilled cheese Jerusalem bagel with kashkaval, roasted tomatoes and zaatar were amazing. The downfall at this cafe is there coffee and tea which would have sent this restaurant to 5 star land but they were lackluster and were only ok. Usual Philly parking on street on in a garage, but training in is much easier. Suburban is ther closest.
Its worth the long line. The Jerusalem Bagel with butter and zaatar was decadently buttery and flavorful. Absolutely loved the Yemeni latte, which had so many spices and yet wasnt overpowering. I didnt even bother adding sugar, it had a slight hint of sweetness.Got the Chocolate Rugelach and Pistachio Sticky Bun for later and wasnt disappointed either. Im going back soon to try some of their entrees.
Amazing breakfast spot, well-worth the 10 minute line. For coffee I recommend their Yemenite Latte (a shot of espresso with cardamom, ginger, cinnamon-spiced milk), it took be back to my Beirut with a Jaffa-twist. Their Jerusalem bagels are delicious. The Egg & Cheese has been sold out both times Ive been, but their customer service is amazing and we got to try their Salmon and Grilled Cheese bagels as well as the avocado toast which did not disappoint! Will definitely be back for a third, forth and more-times!
Really great place! Exceeded my expectations by any measure. Let me explain...I came here with high expectations and was prepared to be let down. Not only was I wrong, I think the food at K’far is fantastic...even better than it’s sister restaurant, the world famous Zahav! Yep, read it here: K’far is quite amazing! From a practical perspective parking at K’far is easy with a ton of parking lots within a block or two. It’s 5 minute off of 76 and if you don’t want to fight 676 traffic, get off at Montgomery avenue and head in along the river (assuming you’re coming in from the northwest suburbs or the mainline). The food, (oh the food!!!) is perfectly seasoned, the perfect temperature and served quickly. The kitchen is a obviously well run. Our server was incredibly accommodating and the manager Yasmine is quick witted and a true pro. Well done!!Put yourself in the reservation list, it’s 100% worth the wait! I did, again. If you enjoyed this review, or found it helpful, please remember to “like” it. Thanks.
Well, my favorite thing by far was the cocktails. The selections of Vermouth, and the way they were craftily poured together, made for some unforgettable drinks. Two favorites: Play It in Reverse and KFar Negroni. As far as appetizers, we ordered: Bread & Caviar and Moussaka. The winner? Moussaka. For our entree, we had the Tbit for two. Solid. For dessert, we ordered three, and received four (one on the house - thank you Kfar!). Of all four current desserts on the menu, the two winners would be the Chocolate Babka and the Malabi.Oh, and our server was delightful. As was the manager (?), she was very attentive and helped to craft a custom cocktail, which my husband loved. Overall, a very fun evening.
3.5 StarsEdit: Tried their dinner menu a few days ago. It is strictly average as compared to their breakfast menu. Had the baked feta which had some very strong and salty flavors, moussaka which had an earthy but flat taste and cauliflower salad which tasted the best among the dishes we ordered. We were disappointed because our expectations were very high after repeatedly trying their breakfast menu.Another important thing: They stopped serving hot freshly baked potato borekas after their first visit. Now every time that we go there (irrespective of how early or late we go), we are still served lukewarm or cold borekas which is a huge turn-off especially when the taste is so good. Really need to work on that. The ricotta toast is still their best dish and a must try.OLD REVIEW:We were walking in the Rittenhouse square area looking to grab some breakfast when we came across Kfar cafe. We went inside only to realize it had opened just an hour ago and we were one of the first customers. It is an Israeli bakery and the food has a Mediterranean touch to it. I have to start by saying that the place is aesthetically very pleasing. There are plants all around the bakery and the furniture too is very modern.Coming to the food here are some things we ordered and how they were:1. Potato boreka: One of the employees recommended the potato boreka to it and boy were we pleased? It was the best dish from among all the dishes we ordered. The smooth mildly spiced potato filling inside a rich buttery and flaky puff pastry. It was sprinkled with the everything bagel topping consisting of onion flake and sesame seeds. A beautiful amalgamation of flavors and a MUST TRY if you visit this place.2. Swiss chard boreka: Swiss chard is a leafy vegetable with a similar taste as spinach. This too was good and the flavor profile was subtle however, it was no match for the potato boreka.3. Brown sugar and ricotta toast: What a unique flavor the toast had. The sweetness of the syrup and figs was balanced by the saltiness of butter and ricotta cheese. I absolutely loved it. However, it wasnt toast like because you expect toast to be crisp and this wasnt.4. Chocolate rugelach: This was good but was probably my least favorite among the things we ordered. Reason: it was too chocolaty for my liking. The pastry too had become a little soggy. The chocolate luckily had a better taste to it but it wasnt too overwhelming. This is a good dish for anyone who is very fond of chocolate but personally, it needed something to complement the chocolate.5. Chocolate babka: This was better than the rugelach and had the complementary flavor which the former lacked. It had a fruity flavor along with a chocolate which I think came from berries or cherry but a good dessert to finish off the meal with.6. Yemenite latte: The coffee had spices such as cinammon and cardamom giving a strong flavor. It was like something that I hadnt tasted before. Somehow for someone who doesnt prefer too many whole spices in my food this was a little overpowering but it tasted good nevertheless.I wont be surprised if Kfar becomes the hub for those looking to have good breakfast in Philly. It is also associated with Zahav which has won accolades for its food so the bar has obviously been set high. It is not too expensive but even if it was, I wouldnt mind paying if the food were to be this good. You should definitely visit the place if you are here in Philadelphia. I am certainly going back to try more things in the menu.
Great food. terrible customer service. it cost me over $17 last time I ordered for one bagel sandwich and iced coffee. Staff seems particularly annoyed to even have to respond to basic requests like just checking to see if my order is ready yet. Watched staff make another customer an iced tea, and when the product only filled the cup halfway, they looked around, asked another staff member, then filled the rest with water.
Jerusalem bagel grilled cheese and the pistachio sticky bun are a must! I loved the crispiness of the bagel, which still held up well when I saved the other half for later. The sticky bun wasn’t crazy sweet, which I appreciated!Loved their chai latte as well - great, strong flavors.

2021-12-19I went to K’Far to get a pistachio sticky bun after a stellar recommendation. Take out is slow but very attentive. Not everyone item is on display so make sure you read the menu. The pistachio sticky bun was very fresh and tasty. I’ll go back to try a Jerusalem bagel.

2022-05-19Mildly busy on a Tuesday morning. Ordered two cappuccino’s, a latte, and the egg sandwich + tip = $30. Both the caps were great but my latte was burnt af. The person upfront was super nice and let me replace it with a coffee instead. It wouldnt have mattered if it wasn’t $6 for a latte that was only 3/4 full (photo). My sandwich never came after a half hour. I asked them to cancel and refund the order; the other person (manager?) was really nice, refunded me and offered me a pastry on the house. We also had our drinks there and they only use disposable cups, super wasteful, like wake tf up people. Youre paying for an experience for sure but they got some goofy kinks to work out.

2021-09-25We were super excited to try KFar, and we were not disappointed! Great quick and fairly casual spot. There was a long line of people that must have been waiting for takeout, but we walked right in and sat down at a table and ordered from the QR code, which was easy and convenient. The almond cake and salmon bagel were absolutely amazing, and the mushroom toast and chocolate babka were very good too. Thought it was extremely good value for the price, plus some great americano!
