Kindred Hospital Philadelphia in other cities:
This is the worst place I have ever seen in my 26 years of nursing, the staff is rude, insensitive. I would like to know how they would feel if they family member was in there and when they call they played phone tag with them, or ask the nurse to go in the room because theyre family member is having trouble breathing and they tell you they are getting report, how would they feel. Worst place ever

Initially my thoughts coming here were just to get in and get the heck out of here ASAP. After while I warmed up to the awesome staff and doctors here at Kindred. The nursing staff really have your best interest at heart!! They make sure you are most comfortable and that your stay is enjoyable. Nurses like Marie, Danielle, Sofiya, Marion, Sovy, Louisa, Lisa S., Pat. Physical Therapists like Joanne, Santos and Athena really encouraged me along the way and helped me set realistic goals each week! I have enjoyed my stay here at Kindred and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is on the fence of sending their loved one here. They will absolutely take care of you. My one recommendation would be that they need more of a proper gym/ training room for their patients. Also I want to thank Serena for recommending this facility to my mother and I in the first place!
I told my wife from the first day I arrived that I knew I was in a good place everyone was so nice to me. I made a list of all my favorite staff. The Katherine, Shiloe,Shirley,, Caprice, Jina Marion, the respiratory therapist Kim was so kind. DR korman thank you and my friend Solomon I call him my xray guy. CHRISTINA,, Marie, Angie,Lisa, Geneva, Pat, Suralie and Joe from physical therapy. Carmen thank you for visiting every morning. Thank you to the gentleman who took my food order everyda.
I am the wife of Barry, I loved the care we received for my husband, I wish I could stay, the nursing staff was always in the room turning him. Someone constantly came in checking on him, he has to be taken care of to look this good all the time, when his sister or I came to visit all hours of the day and night, it just goes to show you, the care is equal on days as well as night. CNA are very good, respiratory therapist came in and did a very good just, the whole staff was competent, kind and caring. The staff as a whole is very hospitable always asking if I needed anything. Dr. Murray and Dr. Lehman were very good, answered all my questions. Angela the case worker kept us up to date with any news. Again I wish I could stay, the care was excellent.
Everyone was great, the staff were very knowledgeable, very responsive and willing to please. Tammy wound care nurse was excellent, she was very knowledgeable and thorough. Housekeeping was very friendly and talked to me by name, kept my room very clean. Respiratory therapists were awesome, they come quickly and know exactly what to do by looking at me, these guys were superb. The CNA’s were friendly and kind. The doctors stopped by and were very helpful and truthful. Truly and Natalia were excellent. I’ll miss being here.
If I could give zero stars I would. Please don’t send your loved one here if you actually want them to recover. My father was only here for 2 weeks, and in that time frame his declining health and red flags were overlooked and he ultimately wound up back in the ICU in worse condition than before. My father had redeveloped pneumonia, he had fungus in both his blood and urine , and his right arm was full of blood clots due to misplacement of IV lines.I was so disappointed, and clearly my fathers health was of no concern.I would definitely not recommend sending loved ones here . I’d also say at least 95% of the staff were rude and unprofessional. From the front desk greater , to the nurse manager, I was in disbelief how unprofessional the staff here were.
I have been a patient here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, I have to say this hospital has been very accommodating and friendly. Stacey and Kaitlin are the sweetest people I have encountered. They were as perfect as you can get. Mary the RN was really sweet. All the respiratory therapy staff were just wonderful. All the physical therapy people were very good, I looked forward to their arrival. Truly the nurse was so nice and helpful. I wanted to tell Rodney the chef that the food here is so good, someone could get fat from it. Thank you for going out of your way to please me. My room was clean always. Dr. Korman was by far my favorite doctor, so wonderful. And Dr. Thain was very informative. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who needs this type of facility.
EVERYONE at Kindred Hospital was awesome!! The full staff was kind, courtesy, accommodating & friendly. They took really good care of my mom!! I wish it was a long term care facility as my mom didnt want to leave and I wanted her to stay. I would absolutely recommend Kindred Hospital to others!!!
My sons good level of care and the services he receives is reflective of his progress that continues to improve daily. Thank you all..It takes teamwork and commitment to excel at the rate you all have. Job well done! You are greatly appreciated.Thank you CNA Marie for your nurturing and caring ways. You connect with him and keep his spirits up with your smiles and uplifting words of encouragement. Keeping patients emotional well being stable, is important. You are appreciated Ms. Marie.
I want It to be known that I feel that your facility is staffed with incredible people! The doctors, nurses, and support staff are wonderful. Before coming to kindred, I was at another hospital for acute respiratory distress syndrome as a result of surgery. I was ventilator dependent for two months. I dont remember most of my admission but I have some memories that were not pleasant. My family felt the care I received was not the best and were mase to feel like they were a burden when I asked for something. Upon coming to kindred, I still was on the ventilator and felt mentally foggy, but the nursing staff made me feel safe. They showed me kindness and helped to give me hope. As I improved, the staff would provide me with encouragement and for every step forward I took they praised me and gave accolades! The doctors showed me great concern and worked well together. Not only are they knowledgeable, they were kind and respectful. Each one listened to my concerns and needs. The respiratory therapists are all attentive and supportive. The physical therapy department is also amazing! They helped me to regain my strength and gave me the tools necessary for me to go home and be safe. All the staff at kindred have shown me kindness. They have an upbeat attitude and truly care for the patients.
I loved it here, I wanted to leave immediately when I arrived but that all changed quickly. Everyone was so patient with me and so nice. If ever in this situation again which I hope not I would pick Kindred in a heartbeat to come back. Every single nurse and nurse assistant were amazing and beyond. Nikita was so good with wound care I never felt any pain when cleaning and treating my wounds. Santos joe Becky and Joann were amazing at getting me motivated for physical therapy. The food was awesome Wesley would run back down to cafeteria when something was missing best staff I encountered at any hospital. Dr Murray was so nice and cuteeee. Day shift staff and night shift all nice and professional. Michelle nd Selena my favorites. Even Gwayne from house keeping was so helpful. Thank you Kindred it’s not easy with what’s going on with Civid but you guys handled it well.
I have enjoyed my stay here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, Dr. Thain was very good ,talked to me daily. Tammy the wound care nurse was very kind to me and careful in her approach. Physical therapy was also so very nice all of their staff was good. My nurses were really so very nice, took their time to feed me and never once rushed me. I really am grateful for that.I would stay if I could, But really would love to come back if needed. Thank you everyone who had any part in my care.
Kindred is well named. I received nothing but the kindest, most compassionate care. The entire staff acted as a team who genuinely believed in the patients rights of being treated with respect and dignity. I was a patient for three weeks in October and three weeks in November—December. The food was good and they easily made accommodations to meet individual diets. Physical and occupational therapists were highly knowledgeable and motivational. I have been in 6 different health facilities with my diagnosis, one in Canada and the rest in the U.S., and without a doubt Kindred was the best for patient care and compassion.Faces, names, and positive actions I remember, in no particular order include Angela, Smitha, Kelly, Katelyn, Laura, Tensin, Shelby, Becky, Jo, Santos, Aaron, and there were more than my immediate recall can name. Please know this entire staff was well appreciated.
I have moved on from Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, but wanted to thank everyone who had partakingIn my recovery. All the nurses were very attentive, kind, thorough and genuine about their work ethic. My favorite was Desiree. The CNA’s all were very good, special thanks to Dolma and Pat. I have to say I was treated very well. I have never been in a hospital where the hospitality was superb. My Cardiologist was very sharp and very good. Dr. Patel was very honest and very good. I wish I could stay longer. But thank you to all who made me feel at home and cared for. Kitchen and Environmental services were excellent. I will miss you all.
My husband spent approximately 5 weeks at Kindred in Philly. He has several medical issues, all which were able to be addressed by the staff there. He did have a couple of set backs but, with their assistance, was back on track and is now moving to a rehab facility. I was grateful to be allowed to visit. On the days I could not visit, I was offered FaceTime. This was good for both my husband as well as for me and our daughter.
I’m writing on behalf of my brother, Everyone was great, cordial and kind. The place is lovely and everyone was receptive upon request of anything I asked. I would highly recommend this facility. I have to say the ICU is EXCEPTIONAL they really took care of my brother. The nurse Christine was the most exceptional nurse I have every ran into. She is the true meaning of what a nurse could and should be. She treated my brother with tender loving care like it was her own brother, we watched her from afar when she didn’t know anyone was watching her and spoke to my brother with tender loving care. She washed my brothers hair but lotion all over him, was so gently and kind. We watched her and was amazed at her dedication to her patients. She really needs to be recognized. We told her how wonderful she was. The other nurses in the ICU were as good always coming in and checking asking if anything was needed. They were accommodating in every way possible. We hate to leave, we know you don’t get this kind of care elsewhere. This place is special and we were very much appreciative of your hospitality. Jerry the case manager was phenomenal to say the least, he went above and beyond answering all our questions and concerns, made our transition very easy and kept us informed and helped out with family matters, he is a treasure to the organization for sure,, if this is how he treats all his families, then you are lucky to have him. He is wealth of information and kindness. I can’t say enough about his hospital, please let everyone know how thankful we are.
My stay here has been fantastic, every female and male employee are very good. No one refused my needs ever regardless of what I asked for. They were always full of enthusiasm when dealing with me i looked forward to everyone coming in and saying hello for no reason other than to say hello, this was so special. All of my doctors were very good. Rodney the cook fed me so well and was very accommodating He went out of his way to please me. I have to say this very important part that made a Huge difference in my stay. In other hospitals when you arrived you were treated like a million bucks because they were happy to have you, but the service would fall off and the welcoming committee no longer cared where you were or how you were doing and you were just left in a bed in hopes that someone would come in and tell you anything at all in regards to your progress and health, this is the norm in most hospitals, until I came here to Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, I have to say the service never fell off, I was treated like a million bucks from the time I came in until the minute I left. There was never a lull in treatment or service. People came in daily to tell me about my progress and I was always informed about my health. I would 100% recommend this hospital and would in fact return if need be. Thank you all for the fantastic stay!
I stay here at Kindred Hospital has been good. My nurse Sarina was amazing, I wish every nurse could take lesions from her. Tammy the wound care nurse was amazing, thorough, informative and kind as well. Dr. Thain did his very best to help me our, explain everything to me and told me everything about my condition, I really appreciate his candidness and honesty. Thank you to the Kindred Staff.
First I would like say thank you to a wonderful staff, Dr. Patel you were very wonderful explaining everything to me and making feel comfortable when speaking with you.Tammy the wound care nurse went above and beyond so very thorough and very nice to boot. The CNA’s Stacey and Pat were exceptional, on top of everything all day long, never let me wait for anything I asked of them, this goes to show dedication to their field. Samantha the RN was by far my favorite, she is super sweet and a pleasure to deal with. Pam the housekeeper is so very nice and talkative, takes the time to ask how I am every morning, this is the most pleasant staff I have encountered. It was a pleasure to be a patient here.
I’m writing on behalf of my daughter who has been a patient here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, she really liked all the nurses and respiratory staff, they were very kind to her and i appreciate that. She would smile when physical therapy came in and couldn’t wait to get walking, which she hadn’t done in a while. It was good to see her so happy. Dr. Patel informed us of her condition and progress over the stay and kept us well informed. I appreciate this so much. He made a point to contact me daily. Overall we had a great stay. Thank you to staff and physicians.
My husband has been a patient here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia since mid April, my husband’s care here has been good. I have a few favorites that I would like to mention, my husbands face lights up when Heather enters the room, she is very thorough. Peggy Paige the nurse supervisor is to sweet, she will go out of her way and do anything for you in her power, I thank her. Everyone is so sweet right from the front door and everyone you meet and see in between, they make it a point to say hello and goodbye. My would care team for my husband, Faith and Matt are very very good. They know their stuff. My physician Dr. Thain is very thorough and keeps me informed. I was surprised at the care here and the friendliness of the staff, I would recommend this hospital.
I writing on behalf of my mother, this is our second time around here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, this hospital has been so kind to our family and especially our mother. We thank everyone who took care of her, as far as we are concerned, everyone was just great. Always available and always willing to answer questions. The case worker was full of information and helpful. Dr. Patel always spoke the truth and was forthcoming in his approach. Thank you once again Kindred Hospital. The Nursing, Respiratory, ad CNA staff were wonderful.
I have been a patient since the beginning of April, everything has been very good for me here, including the nursing staff, CNA’s and respiratory staff. I also have the wound care team see me everyday, they are very good also. My room is always kept clean, I’m very happy about that and also they are all so nice and friendly. The food is good also. My physical therapy team is good, they come daily. I would give this hospital and their teams of expertise a 5 star, if I or anyone I know should need a place like this, I would return and also recommend it to anyone who needs this type of care. Thank you.
The staff at Kindred Hospital on Palmetto was so attentive from the doctors to the nurses down to the cleaning people. Even Angela and Jerry from Case management. They really care for the patients there. They were so informative and kind. This is a great place for your family to go when they leave a hospital! All around AMAZING CARE!!!
I have been a patient here at kindred hospital Philadelphia since the beginning of February, I have gotten to know and meet really great people. First let me say thank you to all the nursing staff, they are caring people. The CNA’s are very good, I loved Kelly and Gwen especially. Respiratory staff are so friendly and caring, especially Dave and AnneMarie. Environmental service people get me anything I ask of them, they keep everything so clean and are always so pleasant to me. The kitchen staff is superb, they will get me or make me anything I want without complaint or question at any given time, I’m a dialysis patient and am always hungry. The dialysis team here is very good and caring. I loved the physical therapy department I liked them a lot, they are my pals. I enjoyed my stay here and am very sorry to leave, but would return if need be. Thank you to all. Thank you also to my physician team.
I came to this facility in early June with a tracheostomy tube. I was very nervous being in a new place but the staff here put me at ease immediately. Dr Snyder was very informative and always had time to answer my questions. The nursing staff was wonderful especially Jen,she was really great. The respiratory therapy department was always there encouraging me and helping me to talk again with the help of the speech therapist Kim and then eventually to get my trach tube out. I really liked Neil and Clarke from the rehab department, they helped me to get stronger. Environmental services kept my room neat and clean. The CNA’s gave me great care. Faith from wound care took very good care of me. If I needed to I would return to this facility.
My stay here at Kindred Hospital has been a 5 star experience, Dr. Thain has been excellent to me and full of information. The physical therapy department is excellent, I would like to send kudos to Jo she is down to earth and very motivating, I would also like to thank Becky, Santos, Chelsea and JoAnn very supportive group. Justine the dietician very informative, so accommodating and talked to me daily about me and how i can improve my well being. My case worker Gerry was extremely excellent and informative. The nursing staff, Desiree so very good, Crystal so sweet, Ashley such a sweetheart, John very knowledgeable, we really bonded, Smitha very sweet, Mary turned me every two hours on the clock. Shobi very good. The aids Lisa and Alisa just great. Thank you to everyone for making my stay here a success.
My wife is in kindred and today is the first time I got to see her only because she had to go to a outside appointment to see a vascular surgeon. When I seen her I couldnt help but cry , because first she looked frail her hair which was always so beautifully groomed looked knotted and in a dread with flakes everywhere like she hasnt had it washed the entire time there her fingernails were long , she has bed sores on her bottom and was sent over without anything to assist her to urinate in since she cannot walk . Smh . Im sure there are good people here but there are some that are just plain lazy and need to remember everyone has to grow old and be taken care of them selves and Im sure they would want to be treated with dignity and respect.
I am the daughter of Betty, I would happily give this hospital a 5 star rating, I can’t say enough about the nursing staff, they really are wonderful, the respiratory staff is equally wonderful. I can’t say a bad word word about the CNA’s my mother would smile when they came in the room which tells me she liked them. My transition here was very good, I have felt very comfortable leaving my mother in the hands of the staff, they have always made me and my family feel comfortable asking as many questions as necessary. My physician, Dr. Thain was very forthcoming with answers to any issues we had. The other staff in the hospital are so friendly also, the enviornenmental service department take great pride in their work, the hospital is always very clean and smells good. I would recommend it to anyone and thank you to everyone who took part in her care. Thank you to my caseworker who was also very helpful. I really hate to leave.
I am currently a patient at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, I am leaving today and want to say thank you to so many people, my experience here has been overall very good, I would like to start with respiratory and mention a few of my favorite therapists, Dave, Val and Jim Cephas who I found quite informative with so much good information. Second a few of my favorite nurses are Dililah, Felisha, Anna and Barb went out of her way and brought me movies and a DVD player from her home, that was very kind. My all time favorite CNA has to be Gwen she has a motherly touch about her and goes beyond her duties. Tiara was such a sweetheart and Chaz was very good. Overall the nursing department was wonderful. Everyone in the physical therapy department was very good, Lauren and Patrick you are just great. My environmental service person, Pam goes above the rest. A 10 goes to the kitchen staff, the two cooks Rodney and Maurice are excellent and accommodating always. My pulmonary physician, Dr. Korman was excellent, I give him a 10. I had to come back here, which I for see in my future, I certainly would. Everyone did their jobs and beyond, I give this hospital an absolute 10.
I really don’t know where to start to thank you for giving me my life back, I never thought this would happen, when I could start to focus on what was happening to me, I realized I was on a ventilator and tied to a 6 foot tube. It was the scariest thing every in my life. Your facility brought me back, i’ll start with the rehabilitation crew, Jo, Rebecca, Cheryl and the manager Jo and speech therapist Kim, these are the most effective and consistent team, they taught me everything i needed to know about my home care and found answers for me, they went above and beyond. They even bought me cloths to go home with, The manager Joann, tested my mind and i did just great. My case worker Janeal told me about my home care and arranged everything I needed to go home, very informative. These nurses at Kindred are top notch, Geoffrey is my best buddy, caring and kind, I will miss him most of all, Sarena is excellent, if you could clone her this hospital would be a 50 star. Michele on nights very attentive she would bring anything i needed. The CNAs Lisa and Alisa so very nice Lisa cut my hair for me and cleaned me up so I looked like a human being again. Respiratory therapy team amazing, Ashley very helpful, she would just come in to see if I’m ok, always positive. Anne Marie is caring like a mother, she may be the best one in the hospital, I looked forward to seeing her , she is #1 in my book. Valerie is amazing so upbeat and encouraging. Dave knows his stuff, very knowledgeable, very positive. Food is very good, they are very accommodating with your requests. Dr. Korman is very nice and Dr. Sajjad did the most, asked and checked on me daily, very thorough and caring. I’m happy to go home and made some very good friends here. I can’t wait to come back and see you all. Love you and thank you.
I loved this hospital and the personal effect my husband and I received while we are here. My husband was treated with such kind hands. This has a wonderful experience. This facility treats the family and friends with kindness and care. Such warm kind words from the staff everyday from the front desk through the hallways. It’s a warm and welcoming facility. The hospital is immaculate and the environmental staff were gracious daily. The phycians in this facility were award winning and always caring. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who needs this type of care. If needed, I would definitely return. The clinical staff is beyond exceptional, they can’t do enough to make sure my husband is cared for and all his needs are met. The staff takes the time to discuss anything and everything any part of the day. I appreciate everyone. Thank you to everyone in this facility
I really liked everybody they were just great, they treated my wife with respect and dignity, the entire staff couldn’t do enough for my wife. Dr. Sajaad and Dr. Korman were very good at explaining things and keeping me informed of all goings on. The nursing staff Christine, Taylor, Lisa and respiratory therapist Thuy were exceptional in my book. The physical therapy team were patient and stead fast. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs this type of care. They were really great and thank you.
First I would like to say I really love this place, I wish I didn’t have to leave, everyone has been very nice and accommodating. I would to mention Michael Beshel who was attentive, very kind always stopped by to just say hello and always asked my wife or myself if there was anything he could do to make my stay any better. He was much appreciated. Also John Groh the nurse supervisor took the time to shave me because I was to shaky myself to do it, I can’t thank him enough. Nurses Shobie and Nick were two of my favorites, above and beyond. Anne Marie the respiratory therapist was so kind, so attentive, so full of hope I looked forward to her arriving, she know her stuff. This place is a diamond in the rough. I wish I knew about it sooner. It truly is best kept secret. Thank you to all.
I am a patient at Kindred Hospital, I am being discharged today. My nurses here are very good, most of the CNA’s are good. The Repiratory therapists are very good they make sure that I’m ok and check on me often. My physician was ok also. For the most part the food was good, I wish they had more selection for breakfast. The wound care was very good. Environmental services were always so friendly and thorough with their tasks. Physical therapy are all so wonderful, the whole group. They spent so much time with me getting me back to normal. I appreciate each and every one of them. If I should happen to need this type of facility again, I would come back. Thank you to all who made a difference in my success.
My overall stay at this facility was very good, I Am completely happy with everything, all the nurses have been really great, especially Brittany who was the best of all. The CNA’s were eaually as good, my favorite was Smitha, just so attentive. Dr. Korman and Dr. Thain were very informative and answered all my questions graciously. The respiratory therapists were wonderful as well, my favorite has to be Valerie. I have to say I am very sad to leave.
I am a patient here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia since 3/21, I have to say that everyone is very likable here, they check on me all day and night to make sure I’m ok. I started my journey in the hospital on a ventilator and have graduated to a trach collar with a speaking valve and now are aloud to eat, which is wonderful. I have to say Kim from speech is a treasure and always pleasant and upbeat which is welcoming when your down. I liked the hospital itself very much. The physical therapy department are true team players, they work well together and I enjoyed my therapy. The nursing staff are all good, Matt was very good and Chaz the CNA very good. The respiratory team was good also, Marlie and Dave spent lots of time talking to me, which I appreciated. Dr. Korman the pulmonary doctor, I liked him very much. If need be I would return to this hospital. I hope I can keep moving forward though. Thank You.
The only reason why I am giving this place three stars are due to the compassion and professionalism displayed by the ICU Unit nurses. However, I feel that some of the providers need to go back and review the oath they took in medical school ! To them it maybe just another patient, but to others this is someones love one! In addition, some of their Telephone Representatives need a refresher on proper telephone etiquette. I am partly glad my husband is no longer bound to this place!
My mothers stay here was good, we had some things to work out when we got here, but everyone got together and from that point forward everything was great, I was kept up to date with everything, I would like to thank all the respiratory therapist, they were all so great.my favorite RN’s were Stacey, Kaitlin, Casey, and Cheryl, the dietician person Cher was so personable and kind, she went out of her way to please my mother. The CNAs Pat and Donna exceptional. Thank you to the staff who did all they did to make my mother happy.
Im a patient at kindred hospital philadelphia, everyone in the hospital was very kind and helpful, I was a patient in four different facilities prior to coming to kindred Philadelphia, the quality of care exceeded all other facilities in regards to caring and my well being each and everyday, I was here for three months and it was a pleasure. I really hate leaving, I dont think I will receive this type of care and kindness anywhere. The physical therapy department took excellent care, they showed compassion, but insistent on working as hard as she knew I could and started walking when I thought I could not, and now walk with a walker. She cheerleader for me daily. I appreciate her devotion to me, she cares deeply about her job. The charge nurses try to keep me informed as to what is going on at all times. Because of my problem with eating, the cook Rodney would go over the menu everyday and would make my favorite soup, cream of broccoli. And because of my renal diet, he is careful as to what I can have. He makes my soup whenever I ask for it. The clinical staff goes above and beyond on a daily basis. I would highly recommend this facility to friends and family. The CNA Amy was always on top of everything, when I had dialysis, she ,made sure I was ready, bathed and did extra little things that were very kind. Gwen the CNA who is like a grandmother to me, she really takes the time to make sure things are done right, she is exceptional. Respiratory department probably are the best that I have come in contact with, they all are very knowledgeable in their care, assessments and making me feel comfortable with this trach.
Dr. Sajjad is the heart and soul of his practice, he is very good at what he does, he cares about his practice and all of his patients, he worries about his practice. I love him and the whole practice, he worries about his patients which is a rare find, absolutely amazing. I love this place, I would rather be here than any other place I’ve ever been. This is my second time here and equally as wonderful as the first time, I would like to mention some of my favorites who made a difference in my stay, Nick, Angie and Samatha so great and kind. The CNA’s Pat, Stacey, Genevieve and Donna. The housekeeper, Pam. Dr. Cornelius who was very nice and informative, I really appreciate it. Dave the respiratory therapist made me laugh, he was a pleasure. I don’t have a bad word to say about anything, everyone was so very kind and wonderful. As last time, I am sorry I have to leave. But always, Thank you.
Kindred Hospital on Palmetto street. This place is the worst. 3 to 4 beds in a room. Its like a sauna and smells horribly anytime I visited. My daughters hair never looked washed. They barely suctioned her. They let her drool constantly into wash rags. Her hands smelled horrible and when I kissed her forhead it was like vaseline. Dr. Thain is the rudest doctor Ive ever met. Spoke in a hurry. Felt rushed to where you lose your thoughts. Never send your loved one there.
My stay here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia was just great, everyone was so nice and friendly, It was a welcoming feeling when you are greeted everyday with such nice people. My doctor, Dr. Sajjad was so great, he took the time to explain my care and what I should expect while I was here. I would absolutely come back if need be. Once again, I would like to thank everyone who so kind to me while I was here.
I am leaving today a place that was very good to me, so many to mention, these are some of my favorite nurses, Nicole, Felisha, Pat, Molly and especially Peggy, she was by far the best nurse I have had the pleasure of meeting, she is and should be the standard for supreme nursing care, she will go the extra mile and then some, every nurse should take a lesson from Peggy, she would not stop until I was treated and well taken care of, and not just myself, everyone she treated, I was in the ICU for several days and watched her work ethic, is was exceptional to say the least. My other favorites were Brian, Laneisha and Nadira these were the monitor technicians who tended to me needs also, the nicest people. My favorite CNA’s were Heather, Tiara, Dee, and Smitha very kind individuals. My respiratory therapist were equally as good, a special thank you to Dave, Anne Marie, Ashley, Jim C., Shirley and Valerie they were wonderful. I really liked Faith who took her time with my wound care and also very caring, I need to mention the food, it was really 5 star. I enjoyed my meals for sure. I just want to thank everyone who had their part in getting my to a place where I could go home.
I would gladly give this hospital a 5 star rating, first of all I’m writing this review for my husband who has come to this hospital twice, so it’s a combined review. I need to address the respiratory staff, they are in my opinion the backbone of this hospital, they went above and beyond, they spent so much time with my husband, they talked to me and calmed my fears, they got me answers to questions that were not in their scope of practice. They cleaned him up and were nice about everything they did. They pushed him along and got him to a successful place, I personally would like to thank Anne Marie, Dave, Valerie, Ashley and Joe who were top notch therapists. I would like to talk about the CNA’s Kelli, Heather, Lisa, Tiara, Anita, Genieva andChaz who were very good, pleasant to Lee and had a great repore with him, he always smiled when these CNA’s came in the room and were always cheerful in their tasks. I have to mention Peggy Paige who is an absolute work horse, she is very obliging, very helpful she moves the people on the floor and is well received from her nurses. I really liked how she handled things and her repore with explaining things to the nurses and her helpful disposition. Pat Hanstein was very helpful also. I could call the nurses station anytime of the day or night and everyone was so pleasant regardless of who they were, the nurses came to the phone and took their time explaining things to me. I would like to mention Felisha, Shobi, all all the nurses day and night, so many to remember. My physicians first time, Dr. Snyder who explained everything to me he left no stones unturned and Dr. Sajaad got Lee to come around and move on to next facility, I really appreciate both these fine doctors. The therapy department Kim from speech couldn’t get any sweeter and Lee loved her and looked forward to her visits and Patrick above and beyond his job duty, he a true find.Cheryl makes him laugh and always talked to me about his care and progress, wonderful part of this team. I need to mention the front desk people, always asked me how I was and If I needed anything, Linda, Erica and Shante beautiful people. Janeal also very good, explained everything to me and was very patient. I really didn’t want to leave this hospital, thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart and lee’s.
I am the wife of patient here at KindredHospital Philadelphia, My husband has been sick for over 9years, I was the primary care taker of him until he became too ill, In the 9 years of my husband being sick, I have been in and out of hospitals throughout the Philadelphia region, this hospital is the best place I’ve been to where in 9 years I feel safe to go home and leave him in the care of the workers here. In the 9years year I have stayed over night until I came here. This hospital is a wonderful place, the entire team works together whether it be CNA’s or environmental services, they will all pitch in. The respiratory team is exceptional in their care, they are very thorough and do everything in their power to make my husband comfortable. The nurses here and CNA’s are wonderful as well. The wound care team is the best team i’ve Ever seen, they healed my husbands skin to perfection and they are all so nice as well. Thank you you to this amazing team. Dr. Thain who is my physician answers all my questions regardless of how many I ask, he is very kind. The food here is like my kitchen at home, I tell them everyday how much I appreciate them and their cooking. If I should need a facility like this one, I would happily come back. I just want to say thank you to everyone for everything.
The staff was very friendly, service was excellent, everyone was very kind. Physical therapy was helpful and very kind they helped regain body strength and the ability to swallow and talk. The cook was a very good cook, he was by far the best cook I ever had in a hospital, it was delicious. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a hospital, I would return happily if need be. All departments were gracious and kind. When I needed something I got it without question.
Four stars as still there however: Staff have been wonderful! RN, Khalida is the BEST! She was 1st RN I spoke with via phone and FaceTime and she provided the reassurance I needed!Great Respiratory Team: Dave, Ashley, Ron, KimREHAB TEAM IS AWESOME: Love Speech Therapist Chelsea, Jo, Physical Therapist is amazing and Becky, Occupational TherapistDr Korman PulmonologistDr Murray/ Dr HussainRN’s: Selena, Regina, Rhianna, Caitlyn, Nakita, Michelle, Stephanie, Cassidy, MartinaSamantha, Charles, Nataliya, Lauren, Melinda, Kate, KellyCNA’s: Stacy, Pat and SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO Marie Coleman who is beyond wonderful
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to so many people, I have been a patients here since late December, first of all the nursing care is great, it doesn’t matter if its day or night, the nurses take good care of me what ever the situation was. The CNA’s day and night are all so sweet, they come whenever I need them and do a thorough job. The respiratory therapists are great, Dave, Anne Marie, Kristen and Joe is always here to do whatever I ask him to do with a smile on his face. The wound care team Dave and especially Faith is a real sweet heart, I have a big wound and she and he are so gentle. I can’t say enough about my Dr’s. Sajjad who was so friendly and thorough, Dr. Korman makes me laugh and is wonderful and Dr. Lehman who greets me a smile everyday. My physical therapist, Patrick is just wonderful. I have to mention the food because when I could eat, it was very very good, I miss it terribly. I am going to cry when I leave these care takers of mine, they are like my kids and I love them so much. I forgot to mention Peggy and Pat who where by my side when I was at my worst, health wise. I really hate to leave, If I could stay I would. Thank you very much.
My relative was sent here following an extensive hospital stay. It was one of only a few places that can support someone on dialysis and with a trach. I was a bit concerned about this facility based on some other reviews. The staff was friendly and helpful but at times overwhelmed. The social worker Jeneal was absolutely awesome in helping us prepare for my relatives discharge. The therapy staff was also great in motivating and encouraging my relative. Now the one thing that keeps my rating from being a being 5 stars is one of the doctor. Dr. Snyder was at times short and indignant with his communication with my family. He would also walk into my relatives room and just start talking when there were visitors there. He did not ask permission to discuss her condition. There were some things going on that was not for everyone to know.So overall a decent experience as long as you are diligent on checking in your loved one.
First of all let me just say that I don’ want to leave this outstanding place, I have been treated so well, I have made lots of friends here and appreciate each and everyone that had partaking in my success here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia. I arrived here with a tracheostomy and was beyond anxious. I was greeted daily with the most caring and kind people from the head nurse Peggy Paige, Molly, and Jessy to the environmental service people, everyone was full of hope for me for success in my care. I feel the need to thank so many people, but the ones that stand out in my head are the astronomical nursing care I received, Felisha and Nicole are my all time favorites. CNA’s are the best, Kelly, Heather, Lisa, Genieva and Anita stand out in my head. The respiratory therapy department is outstanding, Ashley and Shirley stand out in my head. Physical Therapy are all so very good, Cheryl, is always upbeat and my personal cheerleader. I truly loved Dr. Sajaad and Dr. Korman for their impeccable service. My social worker, Janeal was just great. This team of truly great people have rehabbed me to the point of breathing on my own without the tracheostomy, eating and walking on my own. I am so happy. Thank you.
I’m writing this review for Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, my brother was a patient in this hospital since January, 2018. He left last week and unfortunately passed away. But I want and need to tell you, I appreciate everyone from the security desk to the physicians, some I would like mention by name, Anna the RN and Mary RN, nights, Felisha and Dilylia RN days. Marlie, Shirley, AnneMarie,Valerie the respiratory therapist, The CNA’s, Lisa, Anita, Geneva, Kelly from admissions and Janeal my case worker were some the most exceptional people I have had the pleasure of meeting, these people go above and beyond in their daily care taking of patients. Dr. Thain and Dr. Korman, Dr. Bloom and Dr. Lehman were very informative at every turn. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who is considering it, I felt safe leaving my 46year old brother there and at any given time, I would call for an update and was well received with the answers I needed. I can’t thank everyone enough who had their share in taking care of my brother, It was a wonderful experience.
I am a patient here getting ready to go home, I’ve Been here since mid March, I have to say this has been one of best hospitals I have been in. Overall the nursing, respiratory and CNA staff has been pretty good. Physical therapy is pretty good also, they work with me daily. The food is not bad for hospital food. I look forward to my meals. If I should need this place in my future, I would return to the friendly staff for sure.
I’m writing on behalf of my husband who has been here at Kindred for 4 months. I will be eternally grateful for my husbands success. If I forgot anyone I thank you.
I am a patient here at kindred hospital Philadelphia, my experience here good, the nurses have been good, Esmina, Felisha and Pat go beyond the call of duty. The wound care nurse Dave is exceptional and very informative and beyond the call. CNAs Gwen and Dee are very helpful and check on me more often than others. Physical therapy, kristine and Lauren are very good and Kristine is a task master and very good at what she does. Rodney from the kitchen is exceptional and will go above and beyond his call. He checks on me often and brings what I need. Environmental services are always kind and friendly, Pamela is exceptional at her job. Case manager, Cindy is very knowledgeable and helpful. If I should need this facility again, I would surely return.
Worst place ever. Ive been dreading to write a review. My dad was here and received one of the worst treatments ever. Im sure not all nurses/CNAs are bad but there are a few that were caring for my dad that need a reminder as what their JOB is. To name one of a FEW incidents where they brought food for my dad, did not open the window blinds, did not turn the light on, closed the door and left him there in the dark where he couldnt even see what to eat. When I heard that I was so angry. Disgusting behavior and Im so happy my dad is no longer there and I would never let any of my loved once go there. Management/CEO needs to re-train some of these so called nurses/CNAs or hire some new decent once.
I have been a patient here at Kindred Hospital for 14 days. At my stay here I have learned a lot, even though im not one of those patients who needed sound care, I can talk and walk but I did learn a lot with my stay here. even though people think this is the last step of life, I got to know the people who take care of me and I have appreciation for every nurse and everybody who has taken care of people here. You have to love your job and love what you do in order to work here. Number one are the nurses, they take a lot of stuff but give nothing but love. Then it comes to housekeeping, even though you think housekeeping is not important, it is. they always have a smile on their face. I want everyone to know that everyone who has taken care of me I have appreciation for all. I did my best to make them smile and laugh. Number three, I want her to know that I appreciate everything she did to accommodate my every wish. The little things are the most important things but in a personal note im bringing brown sugar home to my cream of wheat. When I needed someone to get me a special meal. My man got me what I needed to make me happy. Number 4 the social workers take the time to tell you whats true and whats not true. They are like mothers to you. On a personal note I played music at night because I know what they go through. So this letter is for you, thank you and god bless.
I have been a patients here since February, the teams here were very good, the nurses and CNA’s were good as well as the respiratory therapists, one nurse was an absolute dream her name is Diminika, she went out of her way every time she was here to make my nights wonderful. I wish she was by side always. Also want to mention wound care who did a great job with my care. My case worker Jeneal was just perfect, she was very attentive to all my questions. My physician Dr. Snyder was informative and helpful everyday with my needs and wants. If I should need a place like this in the future, I would return. In closing, I want to thank everyone who had part in helping me get to the next step.
I am leaving today from Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, I have been here for quite a while and have enjoyed my stay here with such wonderful people, everybody, and I mean everybody has been terrific. The kind and gentle way of the staffs approach is so very comforting. I would like thank. Tammy the wound care nurse, she is my friend not just my nurse. The RN’s Salina, Lauren, Desarai, Samantha, Truli, I’m sure I’m missing so many people to thank. But everyone please know that I appreciate all of you. From the housekeepers to the doctors, I thank you for my progress and getting me to a place where I feel more like myself, I owe my progress to all of you.
I never heard of the about this facility but the facility from where I was being transferred from ,they told me that they have found a very prestigious facility for me to go.Kindred hospital was welcoming and they just gathered around to welcome me they made everything ready for me and made me feel comfortable, they worked diligently and quickly to make me feel comfortable. Shobi the receiving nurse was so attentive with all my care. The staff here are team players. Amy the nursing aid she goes out of her way, she is caring and gentle, I feel comfortable in her shift and I am happy to see her. Shobi is just like a motherly figure she explains things and will take care if had my meal etc. she is not just a caring nurse but a very caring person. They are attentive to my needs. And Nicole the nurse is such a great girl , my eye sight was blurry she helped me fill up my menu , she sat with me and filled my weekly menu so patiently. The next very touching thing was the PT girls were taking care of my hygiene needs when Nicole came in and I said my feet were so dry and cracking and was concerned about my feet when Nicole said dont worry I can do your feet for you that was so heart touching. These things I will treasure the rest of my life, their gentleness, caring , everyone are so welcoming there is always a smileon their faces. I received warm care from them.
I was pleased with my stay, the nurses and aids were very helpful everyone was very pleasant and helpful, I was very surprised and pleased to see how nice the facility was. The kitchen was good and bad. The overall response time was a little slow but timely. Wish they had more staff. The room was kept clean. and modern, the people maintaining rooms were very pleasant as well. Bottomline is, I would definitely recommend kindred Philadelphia. To a friend. The staff maintained the room very well.
I am a young patient here at kindred, Ive been in and out of hospitals my whole life, my experience here has been great , the nurses have been wonderful, Nicole, matt are especially wonderful, CNAs are just wonderful, Gwen has been like a mom to me. The service has been great always here when I call. The food here is so good, its just great. I wish next time I have crisis, I can come here, I love it here, they treat me like family. Everyone puts 100% into their work, they are so great. Dr. Korman and Dr. Lief take the time to listen to me everyday. The physical therapy Dept. Is just great, they treat me with such kindness. I would come back here in a minute if I could. Thank you to everyone who has helped me through this crisis.
I am currently a patient here at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, my life has changed for the better. I have learned help and humbly to say thank thank you. I arrived at Kindred in no condition to care for myself or walk on my own, i was filled with doubt that I was never going to recover at all. Everyday brought nee challenges . the nurses and the assistants tend to me with dignity and compassion. Gaining strength my mind started to clear and I began physical therapy. They monitored me to keep focused and the daily accomplishments were met with positive reinforcement and some good belly laughs. All in all a great outcome with the combined efforts of all, from the kitchen staff, housekeepong, CNAs, all the nurses have changed my life for the better. I cant forget Dr. Patel. Dr. Korman who on a daily basis followes up and provides technical answers to my questions and provides me with the support to successfully work hard on getting well. Thank you to all at Kindred. I am so happy to have worked with Jo, cheryl, Becky and Aaron were the key to my success.
I am a patient at kindred hospital Philadelphia, I came to this facility in the beginning of January with respiratory issues. This team has done everything to get me back to my former state that being without a tracheostomy. I can’t thank them enough, they stayed by my side and made sure I was safe at all times. I really appreciate the respiratory and nursing team for going out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. They took the time to come see me and ask daily how my day was and if They could do anything for me. I was so happy when I could eat again, the food here is very good. I looked forward to my meals, they were very accommodating with whatever you wanted to eat. If I needed and hospital like this in the future, I would certainly return. I am looking forward to my next journey in rehabilitation.
I’m leaving to another facility, I wanted to thank everyone involved in my care here, especiallyTammy the wound care nurse, she was really kind and gentle. The CNA’s and nurses really take there time feeding me and I can’t thank them enough for not rushing me like other facilities. All the nursing staff was so very nice to me. This staff is a step above the rest because they are always attentive to all my needs. I will miss this place for sure.
Staff & Environmental Services are severely lacking in Hygiene, Professionalism, & are NOT the faintest familiar (or remotely up-to-date on) Cultural Diversity Impact on Patient (& Family) Illness, Diagnosis/Prognosis, Treatment & Inclusion.🐾Would not allow a dying animal to be admitted to, let alone treated by, this filth-filled institution🐾
I am a patient here at kindred hospital, the staff has been wonderful, if i could i would rate them 5 x 5, they go out of their way for me. Physical therapy here is attentive and very informative, they deal with my fears and anxiety. They are truly wonderful. The RNs here are wonderful. They are so very kind and helpful. My physician Dr. Thain was very helpful and takes the time to explain things to me. The envionmental service people here are outstanding and go out of their way, in all my hospital stays, this place by far exceeds standards. The is a very friendly, caring and home like feel. I was pleasantly surprised at the warm feeling here. If i had to come back, i would and would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs it. Thank you.
I would give this hell hole zero stars if allowed. There are a few good nurses and therapists but thats it. I believe they are the only few that care about the patient. He had nurses that he told us he loved as well as a therapist. The ICU wing is a bright clean place. My dad was in there one day and we still dont know why. My dad was forced to stay there for almost a month and we never received even one phone call to update us. He had two falls, his TPN line ripped out, bruising, and they tried to transfer him to another affiliated facility none of which they ever called us about. Luckily my wife was there or we would have had no idea where my father was sent. Dr. Snider couldnt care less, has no bedside manner, is a compulsive liar, hides behind medical jargen, and has no clue about medical treatment. The case manager Beth is another compulsive liar. We had a bed held at a rehab facility for my dad and she lied and said there was none available. Finally after a screaming match we went over her head and had him sent where we wanted. She was still yelling in the background and her manager had to put the call on mute while she shut her up. There is no interdepartment communication. I highly recommend if a loved one is ever there that you record everything they say. They wont bathe a patient, the place is filithy, and they are massively understaffed due to nurses constantly quitting. The good nurses really care but are so overwhelmed. My fathers lines were so wrapped around him that even his TPN line was ripped out. He also had a lot of brusing. They condom catherised him because they didnt want to bother bringing him a urinal, he developed a horrible rash. He never once had physical therapy and they said he refused it. Outright lie. Dr. Snider told us my father had dementia, Parkinson and Alzheimer disease, but wouldnt test for them. My father has none of those issues. He told us he couldnt swallow although he was eating applesauce, taking his pills, and drinking fluids and purees. The isolation wing is a filthy room with five beds where they let anyone come and go. The patient behind my father had a trach tube. His wife came in to see him and freaked out when she saw the crusted filth in it. She said it had never been cleaned. We have reported them to the medical board and filing complaints everywhere we can.****UPDATE*****I wrote a very truthful but very negative review of Kindred Hospital Philadelphia yesterday. Today i received a phone call from the head of Kindred. It was a very positive and encouraging conversation. He started off by rushing from New Jersey to the Philadelphia Hospital to catch my father before he was transferred to another facility. He wanted to personally apologize to him, and take the time to thoroughly speak with my father and address his concerns. He then called me and we spoke for about a half hour. He listened to all of my issues, while accepting responsibility. He wanted to know what could have been done differently as well as my opinion of what needs to be done to fix the facilities issues. He did not placate me in any way, he was genuinely upset by my review and more so what it brought to light. I did reiterate to him that some of the nursing and therapy staff were excellent, caring, and professional as well as the attentive and pleasant security personnel. I hope these nurses get the support they deserve. They should not get hit with what rolls downhill. If anything they are the solid foundation which to build upon. I have written a report to the medical board regarding Dr. Snyder and have found out that other reviewers have also. I hope for the patients sake his issues are addressed as well as with the case manager, Beth. I truely believe that the man who contacted me cares. I think he will take steps to remove the bad elements and with time and training maybe even turn Kindred around. The thing to remember is that these reviews are important. This is not review of a television, its a review of those who are responsible for life itself.
The medical, nursing and respiratory staff of Kindred Hospital pulled my Dad through a difficult acute phase of his illness. The staff communicated with my family and readily offered assistance whenever called. As a health care professional, I appreciated that the nursing, respiratory, physical and occupational therapy staff worked so well together.
I have been a patient here for over two weeks & if it wasnt for Yvette of housekeeping I would have fallen into a depression. She prayed with me and made me feel special. Yvette you are amongst Kindreds top employee. Continue please with your compassionate spirit. Barbara Kidtler
Kindred Hospital is a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC). Over the past three months my family and I have become very familiar with their administration, nurses, doctors, respiratory team and physical/occupational therapy. If you have a family member that is in need of this type of care, Kindred is the place for them. My daughter was transferred from another facility because she needed to be weaned off of a ventilator and trach. Kindred’s respiratory staff was brilliant. They were aggressive with getting my daughter off of the vent but also knew her limits. The nursing staff was compassionate. My daughter was told that she would have to remain in the hospital through the Holidays. Barb, the nursing staff and Nurse Supervisor Pat rallied around her to comfort her. Barb let her use a computer she had to watch movies on. She also gave her books to read. Shobi was always there to support her and help her get through the day. Dr Sajjad was easy to talk to and he listened to your questions and concerns. He is very knowledgeable and dedicated to his patients and their well-being. Christine (Physical Therapist) and Laurel (Occupational Therapist) and all the other PT’s where supportive, enthusiastic, upbeat and always made you feel good about the day. Dave, Kristin, Javon where part of a brilliant respiratory team. They were all patient and caring with all of their patients. My daughter is finally home and doing well. Kindred was a God send to say the least and I will always be grateful for the love and support that my daughter received while under their care. If you have a family member that you truly care about then Kindred is where they need to be. Kindred became family to our family during this difficult time.
Team was really great nursing, respiratory was really great nichole was one of my favorites and Dave is one of my favorites, dr.s are good. Room was kept clean. Everything was great. If for any reason my mom needs this type of care in the future, I will happily come back.
My Aunt is currently there and this situation is extremely difficult. We haven’t seen her since November. 1 day in the facility we were offered FaceTime calls. We have seen my aunt every other day faithfully. We even witnessed physical therapy. Thank you Ms. Carmen. My family appreciate all you do
I am a young man who came to this hospital, and really do not remember anything, the caring hearts here at Kindred made me a new man. I am well because of everyone. I want to personally thank a few people, nursing staff: Salina, Synera, Nick, Chrysal,, Serena, Desiree, Salina; the respiratory therapist; Dave, AnneMarie and James. The physical therapy department; Becky, Jo and Santos. Brian the telemetry monitor tech. He was my buddy. The physicians; Dr. Korman andDr. Sajaad were my favorite men of all always upbeat and full of hope. Everyone was wonderful and kind i will never forget all of you for bringing me back to myself.
I would love to give this place zero stars if I could. Talk about incompetent people. Its no wonder this place is tucked away in North East Philly that My GPS had a hard time finding. My sister was transferred there to rehab a blood infection she had. Upon arrival, the room was filthy, there was NO shower head in the shower, no phone, and no garbage pail. Nurses and doctor Snyder both spoke incredibly condescendingly to me, my family, and especially my sister. Its almost as if they were irritated we were asking questions. Dr. Snyder had the audacity to try to speak to us in such a way that it was as if we werent smart enough to understand what he was talking about. One nurse came into her room with an OPEN SYRINGE THAT WASNT EVEN FOR MY SISTER. She has only gotten worse in the week and a half or so shes been there. Incredibly unprofessional staff, neglectful nurses and incompetent doctors should put this place out of business. Not to mention as my sister was calling the nurse for help, one of the nurses hit the call button off and proceeded to talk to another employee about what club she was going to that evening. WHO HIRED THESE DEGENERATES?!?!?!?! Who or why is this farce of a hospital allowed to be in existence?!Oh! Theres also a Weapons Prohibited sign that hangs outside the front door. As if thatll stop anyone from coming in there with one.... the fact that a sign like that is posted just goes to show its NOT A SAFE PLACE TO BE.We most certainly have been and will be in contact with our lawyer. This is the worst experience of health care I have ever seen in my life. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE CARE FOR YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONES.
I was a patient at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia, I have to say the care was fabulous, nurses and CNA’s are really great. Physical therapy are all so very good and friendly, they got me walking again and i will be eternally grateful . Dr. Sajaad was very informative and helpful. My room was kept clean and the food was very good. I did not have a bad day there. Thank you
This review is well overdue. My daughter and I were just talking about it for some reason and she saidthis is the place you send people to die. Shes right. My mother in law who did have many problems never got one iota better. And that could be due to her many health problems so I cant really say the facility is 100% at fault. But its depressing, dark, dreary and another person mentioned the staffing. It is terrible. People truly didnt care and the head doctor didnt care either. Last straw was the facility never communicated my mother in laws dnr when she went to have her bedsores treated at Einstein. She went into cardiac arrest and they revived her! Thats pretty awful for her to have been revived to then be so weak she didnt make it through the night. Who puts a family through that? This is not a rehab place, they care about filling the beds but do not care about patient outcomes.
My mom was transferred to this location. The first day she got admitted, I went there and saw most of the stuff sitting behind the front desk and talking about their personal life and leaving all the patients that require so much attention. My mom was in a room with two other patients. There is one of the patients daughter called the nurse in charge for that day . The nurse said that she was coming . It took her over than 45 minutes before she showed up. It is a dirty place,They will leave dirty gown and trash on the patients bed after giving medication /cleaning. If you love your family ,Please do not take her/him to this place. It appears to me that some employees are only worry about their paycheck.the damages have been done, and there were no one who countable, nothing will be change . another person a stranger was explaining her experience about how the case workers are lazy and think they can make decision to your love one, base of their laziness. kindred hospital has no case manager or workers but all bunch of lazy and arrogant with no supervisor.
This is the absolute worst hospital in Philadelphia and in the entire world. My ailing 65 year old father Desmond passed away at this dump in October of 2018 because of the sheer ineptitude ,racism, callousness, and idiocy of the incompetent staff at Kindred Hospital and this place seriously needs to be shut down. They took abysmal care of my father and didnt give him the care that he deserved in order to fully recuperate from his condition . His vitals were initially very strong and because of the egregious neglect that he experienced his condition worsened and he died of an apparent heart attack due to the depletion of his electrolytes among other factors. My brother is currently seeking litigation against this place . They even have the blatant temerity to still send my Mom hospital bills even though they were too incept to give my Dad the adequate care that he needed . This place doesnt care about their patients at all . All they want is money in return for completely shoddy, subpar ,and inferior healthcare . They should all be ashamed of themselves and will be sued .I would give 0 stars if that were possible.
Hospital management is unjust, they treat staff member as slaves particularly CNA, if you defend yourself its grounds for termination they allow RN and Dr to have known sexual activities in the building, with staff knowledge of sexual acts, poor patient care, discrimination is highly favorable with administration, hostile environment, you can get fire for any means necessary...they would fire a handful of BLACKS staff and fire one white staff to play safe...they retaliate against you if you seek help for being harassed. ... they edit documentThey are very racist toward the Black employee /staff
I dont feel right giving a one star rating to this hospital! The staff is backwards! My mom was transferred there only to be completely neglected. She got 0 care in my opinion. It was like going back in time to some sort of makeshift, amateur, dirty prison hospital! -5 stars from me!!
It is difficult enough to accept that our loved one has sustained severe brain injury that will alter the course of his life that shatters your world while simultaneously struggling for clarity to move forward to protect and safeguard the wellbeing of our loved one!In short, we had no idea what to do to begin that journey! Beth Dolan-Bird Case Manager at Kindred Care Hospital paved the way with critical information, suggested resources, an ear to vent our frustrations and was a tremendous support for my husband and me!Words cannot express our gratitude and we just want to say thank you a million times because now we can focus on the most important area and that is caring for our loved one without the stress of everything else that comes with the shock from the realities we were facing. In life, we face with many challenges, some harder than others however, there is always someone put on your path to lead you in the right direction and stay with you along the way! For us it was Beth Dolan-Bird!With Sincere Gratitude,The Jackson Family
After 6 days stay and care ( after been evaluated) taken to CCU by ambulance : blood clots, pneumonia and liquid in lungs, signs of infection in urine ...septic shock! ...no explanation, did not even tell which hospital,,,just a guess...played possum, no one cared ...bed immediately filled..a conveyor...
WARNING!!!!!!!!! Do not send your loved one to this horrible, vile place. There is nothing there but filthy rooms and neglectful staff. We pulled my sister out after 3 days because her condition worsened every day. She was left to fend for herself when we were not there. The filthy ventilation system, probable mold behind the water stained ceiling, and staff that doesnt know how to reach a doctor, are just a few of the problems facing this facility. On the last day of my sisters sentence in this dark, dirty, dingy sad place, the nurses on duty were not attending the patients but rather attending a shower for one of the nurses ignoring the call button for over 45 minutes. SHAME ON YOU KINDRED HOSPITAL. PLEASE NOTE......IN ORDER TO POST THIS REVIEW, I HAD TO RATE IT WITH AT LEAST 1 STAR. I WOULD RATE IT A 0 IF PERMITTED. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS.....YOU NEED TO DO A WALK THROUGH BEFORE SENDING ANYONE HERE. YOU ONLY NEED FIVE MINUTES TO SEE WHAT AN AWFUL PLACE THIS IS.
Dear Carmen. Today, after all these difficult days, of great sadness and also of many joys that filled us with hope; After so many prayers for the health of Juan Carlos and so many achievements made by the hospitals medical staff, we want to thank and celebrate your existence and accompaniment.Without you, without your contemplations and pampering, your sincere affection for him, surely Juan would not have been able to get to this day as he has managed to get there.May God keep you always warm in his love. You know that in Colombia you have a family that will always have you in their hearts. That you are always welcome in our house.HugsVictoria, Maria and GloriaSisters and Mom of Juan ValenciaFor us, as a family that remained in Colombia, South America, during the difficult process of a patient who was in a delicate state of health for a long time at Kindred Hospital, it was gratifying and comforting to know that he was cared for with so much love, patience and dedication by the staff. doctor and the entire body of nurses, nurses and health workers. We know that without this unconditional support for our brother and son, he would not have been able to move forward the way he did.It is not only science that cures a patient, it is also the understanding, patience and loving and sincere care on the part of all healthcare workers that hope remains. It is the magic and miracle of the loving hands of the nurses, it is the sweet conversation, it is empathy and compassion.Thank you all and all because our beloved brother got ahead.Thank you for making this distance that separated us from him bearable.Thank you Kindred Hospital.Victory ValenciaMary ValenciaGloria PerezSisters and Mother of Juan Valencia
My husband, Juan, has been hospitalized at Kindred Hospital Philadelphia since the beginning of December; the attention of all the hospital staff is excellent, its nurses, its specialist in pulmonary rehabilitation, and physical rehabilitation; Rhea our case manager; all pending Juan and his recovery. And Carmen, representative of patient relations, always supporting us from the first day to meet the needs of Juan and our family, has been an angel for us. Hopefully my husband can get out soon and continue on his way to recovery. Thanks!
I really liked this hospital, the nurses were very good to me, especially Shobi. The therapy I received with Joe and Santos gave me the opportunity to be able to walk and go through the process of improving myself. Thanks to Carmen who helped me make calls and communicate with the employees. Thanks to everyone at Kindred.
My mother was there for 2 months and no one can explain why my mother has an ulcer on her head that shows the skull. This is an oversight they did to my mom. They never let me see it. Miama had no ulcers on her body. Im disillusioned. I thank Carmen Colom for her communication. And communication by facetime. But what they let happen to my mother has to do with the care they gave her sad for others.

2022-02-01I am so pleased to be asked to write a review.I am so blessed to have such caring caregivers taking care of my sister and other patients here at Kindred Hospital. The best Ive seen in a long time. The staff seems to take care of their patients as if they were family. I have to say that Kindred Hospital staff should be listed as number One!!! One of the nurses who has been exceptional is Ms Stacey Pena and also one of the nurses aides Mrs Pat Scott.Actually they all should receive praise and blessings. The facility is SO CLEAN!!! Even the Security Staff is pleasant. Your Patient Relation Representative is without adoubt simply nonpareil. She met me,and immediately gave me both a high comfort level and a sense of calm.(Her name is Mrs Carmen Colom).

2022-05-04The care the my loved one has received throughout their stay has been exceptional. They truly are a team when it comes to ensuring that patients and families are cared for, medically and emotionally. The level of care begins at the front door with Joe in security, who greets each visitor with a smile and a genuine “How are you doing today?”. Then there’s Lapri in housekeeping, who ensures that the space is clean and will go beyond her duties to get a medical professional to help when you need them. There’s Marie in Nursing Services who advocates for and ensures all patients needs are being addressed, even if those patients are not on her caseload. Also Luisa of nursing services , my families angel, who takes her time in explaining everything and answering any questions we may have. There are so many I could name and each with a different example, Mike in Wound Care, Carmen in Patient Services, Dr. Murray, everyone in Respiratory Therapy, etc.If you are in search of a place where your loved one will receive the best care in their most vulnerable state, then Kindred Hospital of Philadelphia is who you should trust for that care.

2022-06-16I’m really not someone who would write reviews, but just wanted to say that this place was a life changer for my uncle. The amount of time it took to get him off vent and back to eating was amazing. They definitely aren’t perfect, but they make up with caring staff and attentiveness. I couldn’t name any of the staff because it was a while ago he was here, but I can say that the respiratory team along w/nursing were very good. After he left there he went to a skilled nursing home and OMG what a difference. I would definitely recommend.

2022-02-14I was able to come and visit my aunt when she was there, but after they reduced the amount of people who can visit due to Covid, Carmen always made sure I was able to see her via Zoom. Her nurses were so good at taking care of her especially Louisa who always seem so patient with her and also Ethel in RT. I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to make sure these individuals knew how important they are to the care of the patient’s there.

2021-12-29Do not send your loved one here if they are dependent or compromised. This facility suffers from issues with lack of staff, staff that are not available/doctors that are not in, issues with cleanliness/caring for patient personal care, and doesnt alert family of medication changes/additions. If the patient needs to get testing outside of the facility it is not always coordinated correctly or smoothly. Trips for off site testing will often take hours (even if the test is relatively short). If you have a loved one with limited mobility or reduced cognitive functions due to illness or injury please to not send them here unless you are able to follow up frequently with your loved one/or have a support system to help with that. Lack of personal care is a real issue especially if the loved one is susceptible to wounds/bed sores or infections. Please read the doctor notes on your loved ones and question what is being said especially if you dont see improvement. Also, if you file a compliant they will often not address it and will not reach out to you about your compliant. I read reviews before I sent my family member here (because I wasnt sure of the validity of the reviews) and, unfortunately, these very same issues and more occurred. Please beware and dont take for granted that your loved one will receive quality care.

2022-04-08This is a bit of a long review but absolutely necessary.I’ve spent a great deal of time at Kindred hospital in Northeast Philadelphia and I’ve met a few certified jewels, and then some 100% incompassionate only there for a paycheck grabbing undesirables, however this particular message is about a well deserved kudos CNA namedMarie Coleman. When you’re in a hospital or medical facility having medical needs and almost total dependencies of the assistance of others, you definitely need a staff memberlike Marie Coleman on board to help you in that facility she’s awesome. I can tell a few situations where she camethrough like a champion, but the latest is sufficient.Without going into my medical history I will share that I was at Kindred hospital for respiratory purposes and one day I was reading my emails in an upright position on anelectric hospital bed with my legs elevated for a temporary position shift and dosed off to sleep, whenI awakened not knowing how long I was asleep, my diaphragm was compressed and I could barely breathe. To say that I was in a state of panic is an understatement,I was gasping for breath and getting increasingly distressed so I rang the call bell for my nurse whose name is irrelevant at this time to come in and after a few minutes she came in and immediately knew the circumstance and started pressing the buttons on the bed to put it in the default position. The bed would not move at all and as we were both confused at the sudden malfunctioning bed shewent out to get help, I suppose but never came back in the room. She wasn’t a bad nurse but I’m not sure what happened with her in those moments so I rang the call bell and after a few minutes Marie came into the room, and when she saw the state that I was in she knew that I was there like that for a little while and was not pleased at all. She immediately untrended the bed to its default position clicked one button and the bed opened back up like a Christmas present. My diaphragm decompressed, the air started flowing back into my body and I was more than grateful. In a situation like that you need competent quick actionedassistance and Marie was right there with those necessities. I am so glad and grateful that she was thereand I hope that Kindred knows that they have a great staffmember because at that place they definitely need people on staff like Marie Coleman and I’m blessed that she was there when I needed that help.

2021-09-30I have received nothing but the best treatment and attention I needed here at Kindred. The nurse supervisor, manager and nurses Are to be commended on their work ethics. Joe and santos from the Physical Therapy team are outstanding. They care about their work and I felt they truly cared to help me walk. All in all I felt I was treated with true dignity while here at Kindred. There are too many names to mention but all folks from wound care, social work, nutrition, dietary, PT/OT and nursing are all great in my eyes.

2022-05-25My mother is currently at an acute rehab facility receiving medical care & therapy (PT, OT, Speech) for both her traumatic brain injury & a level 4 pressure wound. The social worker from the acute rehab recommended that my mother be transferred to a LTACH. Having read the description of your facility & the care & therapy offered Kindred seemed like the perfect place to have experts heal her rather difficult wound while your therapists/TBI team continued healing her brain injury. However we have learned that Kindred is unable to handle this complicated combination. We thought that complicated medical conditions was what an LTACH of Kindreds stature was all about.
