La Colombe Coffee Roasters in other cities:
This place has a bit of a weird vibe for me. The cafe is in a huge open space with very high ceilings , lots of light from the windows which is nice.I didnt notice much of a food selection, the ham and butter sandwich I had was pretty good. I also had a green tea which was nice, but way too much tea stuffed into the bag relative to the size of the mug. It would gave been really bitter if I had left it in for the amount of time the barista recommended.
La Colombe is an excellent cafe. They’re draft coffee is easily the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is busy but friendly. Service is fast. The whole beans are excellent. It’s not hard to imagine this cafe chain to continue to spread and become more prevalent as long as the quality stays at this high a level. For the specific location: outdoor and indoor seating offer great views. The staff are excellent. Would recommend to any coffee lover.
Im usually quite happy with my visits to a La Colombe in general, but today not so much. I visited during non-peak hours, but even still... my draft latte was only filled about 1/4 of the cup with the actual drink, the rest was foam, and it was pretty lukewarm, compared to most other times Ive gotten it. The staff was distracted, and talking amongst themselves at the corner of the bar, and a few of the tables were a bit messy and needed to be wiped down. A big disappointment to say the least, but I guess thats what becoming a chain coffee shops entails.
Great staff, they definitely steer you towards the best menu items to get. The coffee (single origin African) was great, and the scone and strawberry baked thing with sugar was fantastic. Plus its in a great location next to monuments and just as importantly, a bier garden.
A wonderful cup of coffee - visiting the liberty bell and exploring and we fancied a coffee!Fantastic stop with plenty of options for coffee and other drinks. The staff were knowledgeable and they knew which ones were single origins and even tasting notes.Would highly recommend for a decent cup of espresso/coffee in Downtown PA.Another nice thing - they are all over PA, even in the airport, if you’re trying to get a good coffee, we went to a few!
Love this place. Theyre not exclusive to Philly, but they are top-notch quality across the board. This location in particular is in a beautiful building and they do have outdoor seating. If you have never been to a La Colombe, I highly recommend getting a draft latte. Its so good that you will probably want to take a few of their canned variants home.If youre in the area, dont skip this place.
Ive been to a couple coffee places here in Philly and this continues to top my list. The coffee is great and the seating and atmosphere has a smart-casual feel. It is located near the Liberty Bell and Bourse Market. If youre into the coffee scene and are in Philly, definitely make a stop here.
Omg this is the best coffee I’ve had in the states! I’m a coffee lover and this one was amazing! Also the barista was very nice and the prices are inexpensive surprisingly to the quality! You can also have cold water or sparkling water for free😍 btw there is an outdoor fun sitting area and indoor option as well! this cafe was the best thing in my visit to philly.
After such a strong start in the 1990s, La Colombe lost its integrity years ago. Mass produced drip coffee is flavorless and shelf-stable pastries are soggy. This is what selling out tastes like. The most depressing location is the Airport but this is a close second, tied with City Hall. Corsica, a true masterpiece, isn’t what it once was, even when well prepared at home.
One staff person was rude and absolutely no help at all. Coffees were pretty decent but my iced tea tasted like garbage and dirt. How do you mess up a green tea? In the time it took for our barista to complain and make three drinks, the other barista helped two other customers and made four drinks. That one was friendly and focused. Our barista was rude as can be, not just to us but to their coworker. Check your attitude at the door! Life happens outside of work! I wish I could take away stars. Negative stars. Black holes even. Bleh
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Would definitely NOT recommend. Very very VERY rude staff. Both ladies working there were so rude it was embarrassing for me. Absolutely NO indoor seating and they were all very rude about it. Never go to this coffee shop ever!!!! I am embarrassed that we gave them our money. Coffee drinks were ok, definitely not outstanding. Would not recommend and this coffee shop most definitely lost my business!!!!!!
Always love their coffee and this shop in particular right outside the constitution center is one of their most popular locations, their lattes are always on point and barista is always friendly. I love the extra mile they go to ensure safety of everyone by having not just a mask up rule but also plexiglass shields. I feel so much more comfortable doing my morning Java run now that I know that the coffee shop is taking the necessary precautions and operating in a safe and secure manner
Best coffee ever!!! I love the coffee here, that coffee “on tap” is the most delicious coffee I have ever tasted. I am a coffee lover, and this is my favorite place to get coffee. The building is open and industrial looking , with lots of space, and plenty of seating. Even when the line is relatively long, it moves quickly. They have a great pastry case, have some sandwiches, a few other breakfast type options, juices, to go coffee, and water. They also make rum la Colombe rum.The only negative thing I can say about this location is that it can be difficult to find parking. However if you don’t mind a bit of a walk, within a block or two you will find something. The walk is well worth the reward when you arrive (the fabulous coffee that you will buy and drink)!
Stopped in at 8am on a Friday. Wanting coffee, and a place to kill a few hours, I tried La Colombe. I was welcomed by the friendly staff at the counter, and quickly given a cup of coffee to go with the beans I purchased. I sat there for 3 hours, reading books, watching the variety of people coming in, and enjoying the music they had playing. When I went up for a second serving of coffee, the barrista was very kind and told me about how I could get a discount with a receipt from earlier.. Only I didnt have the receipt. She was gracious and still gave the discount. Overall, I had a great experience. The place was a nice respite from the snow, had good coffee, had good music, and the staff was very helpful.
Coffees generally range in price from $3 to $4, and is more than worth the money! The staff are patient and friendly, and pretty quick in preparing your order. Even on a busy Friday morning, with a line wrapping around the bar, I only waited about 3 minutes before getting to the cashier.
Im not a coffee aficionado, but I do enjoy some when I need a boost. La Colombes mission is different than the other place and has much more of a focus on quality. I think the best part is that the prices are still reasonable. This location is near Independence Mall and is spacious, yet still has the small coffee house feeling. I only ever have ever tried the draft latte and due to how delicious it is, I dont see myself moving on to anything else. Great flavor that is smooth and sweet. Im excited for the canned draft lattes, although this location didnt have them yet as of the time of this post. Eagerly waiting for them though!
1st time I have ever been here at any La Colombe location. I loved it. Place was immaculate. Service was excellent- especially so for a morning crush. Price was reasonable for coffee unlike a certain competitor from Seattle and in the words of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper Damn Good Coffee! Go here folks. Thank me later
Its the best cafe in Philly! I love their Nizza espresso so much!! Most importantly, the staff are so cool and kind-hearted. I left my bag there with passport inside, but they took good care of it until I went back to take it the next day!!! I can say it was my best memory in Philly ❤️
Im honestly thinking about getting investors and opening a franchise in NH of this brand. I loved the environment, the staff, the coffee and the way its served. Great all around, cant go wrong.I ordered a latte that was extremely well made, my partner had a shot of espresso that was amazing as well. Good roast, wherever they get it from.
I work right above here, so come a lot, but, while consistently good service, Ive never been prompted to give a 5 star review till today. I dont know the employees name but the guy with the ponytail is the man.He was Multi-tasking like a pro and made sure the other employee was on top my cappuccino twice while ringing up people managing the flow of customers. Did it all whole people friendly as can be and quite personable. Ponytail guy is my guy.
First time visiting Philadelphia (3AUG19), and my friend who was being kind of a tour guide for us knew I liked coffee. She kept pointing out the major chain ones, and I kept saying that, No, I really wanted a single-origin, light-roasted, bright finish coffee. I found La Colombe on my iPhone and what great luck that it was in the midst of all the historic stuff! The El Salvador that was brewed-up was just what I had hoped for! (Couldnt stay long enough for a pour over, had to hit the scheduled entry time @Constitution Center.)
Coffee and snacks were excellent, and I was very impressed with their cold coffee to-go selection- Ive not seen another place that has multiple non dairy options! Though I will say, it was surprising they only have oat milk to use in hot coffee drinks. Only way to get non-dairy and gluten free is to get a can of cold.
Their freshly made baked goods are to die for and drain my budget when I walk by and can’t resist a vanilla scone or challah or cheddar leak biscuit, oh or the salted caramel double chocolate cookie. The canned draft lattes are unique and wonderful, too. Espresso drinks are on point (and I’m very critical) and they accommodate your preferences because they really know coffee! But sometimes they have the African sun dried beans, so ask if you prefer Italian because they taste very different. The American coffee is super strong and I avoid it but a lot of people enjoy it. The final piece of la colombe that I love is the WATER - sparkling or still on tap in the back. For free.
This place has a very high ceiling and lots of tourists filtering in and out, so its not the BEST place for a conversation or working on detailed work as it does get pretty loud. But all the fare is delicious. The light through the windows is lovely if youre into taking pictures of your cappuccino.
We looked for a place to rest at the end of our trip while waiting for our mega bus. This was perfect. All we wanted at the end of it all was a couple of cups of hot water. We got them in precious little cups and saucers that made us feel like we were already home. Extra points for the bathroom door looking like a part of the wall.
Delicious, local, coffee and other caffeinated brews. The Draft Latte is easily the most popular drink here - its a very creamy iced latte, poured from a draft (get it?). It tastes like melted coffee ice cream. I work in this building, and often come down here with coworkers for a coffee break.Coming with others and dont want to buy something? Theres a tap in the back with both regular and soda/seltzer water, as well as plastic cups.Oh, and the baked goods are great too, if youre hungry.
I love the La Colombe experience. From the coffee to the food and the cafe, its all great. For me the most important part is the coffee, Im no expert but I can tell the difference between Dunkin-->Starbucks-->La Colombe and La Colombe definitely is the best. Given, most of my experience is with their espresso based prodcuts and not their drip coffee. The disparity might be less with other products.
My go-to place for a quick cup of joe. This isnt a great place to hang out - it is noisy, drafty, and sterile. However, the coffee is good and reasonably priced, Baristas are personable and thoughtful. As a plus, the coffee is roasted locally, so you are benefiting Philly twice!
My wife and I like to sit on the plaza outside of this coffee house and watch the bustle of Market St and Independence National Park. We can bring our dog, too (but she is not allowed inside). I feel La Colombe is a refreshing re-invention of the traditional coffee house, as they focus on getting the basics just right in an upscale setting, without unnecessary frills.
Would leave zero stars if possible. Service is slow when theres a line. This morning, there were 3 employees behind the counter and no line but it still took several minutes before I could order my coffee. Apparently they dont know what leave room for cream means. I spilled coffee on myself after leaving because the cup was so full. I wont be returning here again.
Awesome coffee spot to grab a nosh especially after a long ride from New York City getting off the Megabus on market and 6th Street I always find it a great place to meet my sister and others to meet when I arrive in Philadelphia the people are friendly its trendy the music to me its funky thats just my style and very eclectic and the prices are reasonable.
Rude place .. they don’t warm food they serve even on request .. very limited option .. would anytime prefer any Starbucks nearby than this place because customer service is everything , especially wont go to a place where everything you need for and their answer is a NO.

2021-08-27Best oat milk draft latte ever! Super creamy and delicious. Other faves include the canned oat milk lattes. There’s a new canned pumpkin oat milk latte which looks great - will be trying that one soon. The canned chocolate milk is pretty good. Didn’t care for the canned lemonade but there was nothing wrong with it, it’s just a preference. La Colombe also has a few baked good available each day but not a huge offering, just snacks. The location is perfect for thirsty tourists as it is steps away from The Liberty Bell and is located high above street level for great people watching. The outdoor seating area is roomy and pleasant and the indoor seating just recently opened up so you can choose to sit outside or in.

2022-02-23First time going to get some coffee, and the guy making it did an excellent job. It makes me want to come back and drink more of it but the second time, it was made by a girl with a piercing between her eyes. One she barely put any drink in the cup, its already an outrageous price for a cup and she didnt even bother on filling the cup at least half way. Second it did not taste good at all, it was almost made by a person who did not care what she was making!

2022-06-08I decided to try this place for the first time. I got over the fact they didn’t have flavor shots nor wifi, but combined with the ‘nice/nasty’ attitude from the cashier and the girl on the side I was over it. I can tell they do not care about welcoming new customers.
