I’d give no stars if I could.Absolutely worst experience with one of your drivers of the smaller busses designed for special need people. He had zero care and compassion for his customers.I run a local food bank and today we closed at 2:00.The special needs person was on a special needs Lanta bus scheduled for a 1:00 drop off to us.The bus didn’t arrive until 2:15 and still made her get off not allowing her back on as she was now too wait for her return pick up bus scheduled for 2:15, which we were passed that time and of course no return bus in sight.The driver was going to just leave a special needs person crying alone in a parking lot behind a warehouse when it was staring to rain.When I confronted him about not leaving her he wouldn’t even allow me to talk just running his mouth flapping his hands in my face mimicking me talking. Childish and rude is an understatement.People be aware if you are putting a loved one with special needs on one of these busses.I called and left a message and would appreciate a call back to this matter.
My grandfather takes the bus that accommodates people with disabilities from his adult day center to our house every afternoon. The trip is about 5 miles and he should be here around 5 so someone will be home, as he cant be left alone and is in a wheelchair. Sometimes the bus is way too early but its usually extremely late. We are constantly having to call the office to see when he will be home. The last straw is tonight. He was picked up at about 5 pm from the center. It is now 8 pm and he still isnt home. This means he has had no interaction with his family, no dinner, missed pills, etc today. At 6:30 we called, they said he would be home in 30 minutes. We called again at 7:15 and they said he was the next stop. 45 minutes later we are still waiting. This place is extremely disorganized and there is a new driver every day and the drivers clearly do not know the area, because the bus was in our area and then went all the way to Emmaus when they were in a town 2 miles from us. They have no respect for the people that rely on their service. We are at the mercy of Lanta though because they are the only business that provides this service at an affordable price. (Edit: he finally made it home at 9 pm)
I have been riding these buses a very, very, very, very long time and it has never been this bad. Yeah change happens every where but Dang not this bad. Buses are Always late, Some of these drivers are just down right rude. Forget about filing a complaint nothing is ever done. Unfortunately I am 1 of the unlucky ones that have no choice but to ride the bus so I will keep faith that 1 day Lanta will get it together again.After getting the above negative review Lanta replied below. Yes I have filed Numerous complaints since Sept 3rd and others have also on the 102 route and guess what...the bus is still late, so that is why I say nothing is done.
Was run off the road by a Lanta Van back in January after beeping my horn about 5 times. Driver was pulling out after being at a stop and claimed he didn’t hear or see me and it resulted in a flat tire. Called the company numerous times and they failed to own up to it. How can you not be able to keep track of your drivers? I reported the time, day and stop number that it occurred at and nothing was ever resolved. They claimed they could not trace the route or find the driver responsible. Disappointed in this company and its employees that don’t pay attention to the road. $300 out the window like that. Maybe they should learn to own up to their accidents. Reporting drivers does nothing and the company couldn’t care less about it.
There is an entire subculture of people who do nothing but ride the bus all day. This can provide plenty of entertainment for those who normally commute from one place to another. The reason for this is that the people who belong to this subculture are not wrapped too tight. They act weird and engage in all sorts of inappropriate behavior. This is good for plenty of laughs for those of us who ride the bus for normal reasons.
I work near S.4th St. I waited for a whole hour for the 104 to come. I though it migh got broken down but nope, I was waiting from 6pm and the bus arrived at 7:15pm. When I got in the bus i ask the driver what happend and je just gave me attitude and told me that i been missing the bus. The same guy driving to Emmaus then coming back to lv mall! Yes, i saw him pass by and took an whole hour to get back to my spot! What in the world?!!
On Saturday I was waiting at the bus stop across from the Giant (route 104) grocery store on Emmaus Avenue with a weeks worth of groceries. I was there about 15 minutes early since it only runs once an hour. At about 2:15 it finally showed up AND DROVE RIGHT PAST leaving my groceries and I to sit there for another hour! Some of the frozen groceries were trash by the time I got home. Sad that they just dont care. Not the first time and Im sure it will not be the last.
I thought that the bus drivers are supposed to follow the assigned routes and the assigned stops. I didnt know that they can adjust to their liking. I found out from one driver that if unless a passenger wants to go to a certain stop, they have to tell them personally. If the passenger wants the bus to pick up at that certain stop, they have to wave their arms to get their attention. That you have to do if you want to go to The Health Center at Palmer near Walmart. I had only one driver that actually went to that stop without anyone telling the driver. Other places are: St Lukes Anderson, near Wegmans and Target.
Worst bus service around I love how they replay we are sincerely sorry lmao no your not and filling a complaint does absolutely nothing the drivers are very rude and unprofessional and act like they are untouchable they are constantly early or late they make their own schedules such a joke smh
Never on time. Always ten minutes late or ten minutes early. Drivers are tolerable unless theyre early and then they just leave you if youre more than ten feet away from the bus stop, even if youre running up to it which they can plainly see but then they just zoom past and youre left an hour late to work.
Last night (Jan17, 2019) my husband and I were at a stop light in Cementon Pa. We were at the line on the road of where to stop with several cars behind us. A Lanta bus came down route 329 towards Northampton made a very wide right hand turn and came right up to our car. There were cars right behind us so we couldnt back up and the bus was right on our front bumper. The cars behind us jockeyed so my husband could slightly back up and get past the bus. As we were going past the bus driver flipped us the finger and was yelling at us. Really!! He cuts the turn way to wide, then blames us and we were stopped where we should have been. If this is the type of drivers Lanta hires, shame on them!!
The Drivers act like they dont need to be respectful they sit around the ATC and talk and are late pulling out...the other nite at mall the 103 stoppex in Mall parking lot and sat there until 740 pm and then she was rushing us on bus I will be speaking to someone higher in company makes no sense how unprofessional these drivers are.
Today I had a medical appointment and left my work early to catch the bus lehigh valley leaving the hospital at 2:45 pm , was the route 211, and arrived at 2:50 and the driver parked to take his break , she saw me waiting and did not care. 1287. She is bad driver. I hope to take steps to improve the quality of service.
Lanta has their drivers working long very stressful hours. So what do you think is going to happen with service and safety. They do not care about driver safety or welfare. The local union does not care or do anything about it. Totally worthless. Probably worst run transit system in country. Drivers get threatened spit on assaulted. Try doing that every day.
If I could give negative Stars I would the Lanta van service is so poor they have no consideration for their customers they pick you up too early drop you off too late dont care I got hung up on on the phone for canceling my rides with more than enough service time everything is the customers fault they take no responsibility whatsoever even in the cold of winter when I had to wait over an hour for my ride that was supposed to be there they kept telling me he was on his way 10 more minutes 10 more minutes until an hour and 20 minutes went by but that must have been my fault too
Would not recommend this service for anyone. Yesterday, not only were they late to pick up my friend, they eventually NEVER picked her up. Her pick up time was 5:15 p.m. Then then said 15-20 min., then they said 7:05. It ended with me picking her up at 7:45 because they CANCELLED HER RIDE. NO EXPLANATION, IT WAS JUST CANCELLED. Two days before they took her on the scenic tour, through Penn Argyl to Forks. Beware of this service. Where is the accountability?????
Horrible service, Philadelphia have as a much better bus service, most drivers are rude, are either really early or blast by you and stop down the street and get mad at you even though I stand in the street...driver was late by almost 20 minutes and told passengers that If for they havea problem with them call and complain to lanta, and he was so rude, bus number 322 for that trip. Seriously, can they hire drivers that are not rude and condescending
Lanta, now, has some of the rudest, most unfriendly, unknowledgeable (re bus routes) drivers operating their buses. Too many do not maintain scheduled departures and accidents seem to have increased. Too bad they have no competition. Allentown is the third largest city in PA-they need to step it up!
Barely these buses are ever EVER on time! I mean literally these busses ARE NEVER on time! The Driver for 104 doesnt ever finish her route and turns around before the Turkey Hill on Chestnut St (PENNSYLVANIA) Ive witnessed her turn aroud and her route right before Turkey Hill in Emmaus. This women driver ends her route early and ive missed the bus multiple times when walking to the stop EARLY and this women always turning around when i walk up and it not even being the time that it is scheduled to get there it being earlier, i wait for her to never come. Until it was confirmed by other passengers she comes super early in order to get home early. Lanta bus does not answer there phones and this is a continuous issue
Lanta is UNRELIABLE its taking your chances , its hit or miss with them people over the phone make you feel like its your fault when they mess up your destination time , the office uses their rules against you when they are wrong . Otherwise the drivers are not bad at all .
LANTA has to be the worst bus service especially the van service in Pennsylvania. Im not even going to leave a long comment but the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation really needs to handle this company. From the rude bus drivers to the lateness of damn near every bus or van you take!

2022-04-29These drivers get on the interstate and drive well below the speed limit, almost causing an accident. They dont use their mirrors and almost side swipe other vehicles when they suddenly change lanes. Awful drivers

2022-04-13Lanta van service needs to improve. The service is rotten,had my mom waiting for an hour. She was to be picked up from 8:56am this morning for a 9:30am appointment. I called the company and was told that driver will be late and will be there(her home) at 9:15am but still had not show up so I called again this time the person on the other side said that she will see where the driver is . Now this is the joke part the driversaid hes at the home of my mom,I said that a lie let him tell you what my mom is in. Can you believe it these drivers are lying and customer service believes them. I stop using the Lanta van service for two year and more, but today I said lets try them to see if their service improves but it is worst than before. They will be losing more clients if they dont. The drivers are liars they make the company look bad. Be on time like when they went to interview for the job. If they cant read the GPS say something. LANTA VAN SERVICE GET IT TOGETHER OR LOSE YOU YOUR CLIENTS.

2021-12-23Made my grandparents wait in the cold!!!! My gram scheduled with more than enough time in advance! The bus screws up every single doctor appointment they have because the bus doesn’t come on time to pick up from their house. Then they also must forget about transportation back home! There have been more than 4 occasions where my grandmother and grandfather have had to wait HOURS to get a ride. If you are understaff… DON’T SCHEDULE RIDES YOU CAN’T HANDLE!!!!!

2021-11-17The Route 102 stops in front of the Government Center as long as I can remember. Seems an older female driver has arbitrarily decided it isn’t a stop at all: and twice has saw me and passed me by. I confronted this driver & she said it wasn’t a stop & she wasn’t going to argue about it. Such arrogance. How can drivers just decide which stops to honor and which not to? I called & complained but this definitely shouldn’t be happening: especially since this cost me an hour of pay from my job. TERRIBLE service. This was the bus going toward Wind Creek: not the ATC.If it’s not a stop: LANTA needs to clearly post this

2021-09-10My wife was waiting for the 103 bus around 11:55am today on Linden St, right before the 8th St intersection. My wife was at the bus stop sign. The driver saw my wife and ignored her and she didnt stop the bus. My wife kept waiving at her but the driver ignored her and kept going.Did I forget to mention that my wife is pregnant and had to walk several miles home?!!! Ridiculous and completely unacceptable. It makes us want to look at another service! I filed a complaint but felt that I needed to warn others that it could happen to them!

2021-07-3045 minutes late. Drove around with me on the van for 50 minutes. Turned and went back to my apartment bldg for a pickup. I got off. So stressed I couldnt stay on any longer. No common sense. At one time we were 2 minutes from the mall. Left my apt. att 9:40 and got back home at ,11:20. Never went anywhere. Unbelievable!!!!

2021-10-04Will not allow a permanently disabled, wheelchair bound person that cant drive, to use their service for the disabled person to take their kid to a doctors appointment.HIPPA and ADA certified person: Theyre violating federal law...
