Just came back from recording 2 songs at LDB10 and had an AMAZING experience!! I worked with Shea. I recorded my vocals with him and then he mixed and mastered my songs to make them sound SO GOOD!! Im beyond excited to finish my EP with them and highly HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone looking for a studio. Their rates are excellent and they take great care of you! It was money very well spent. My songs are at a whole other level compared to what I was able to do in my home studio.
This truly is a gem in Philly. It was an experience I’ll never forget! Mike was personable and professional. It really makes a difference when you have an engineer that cares about making your song perfect for you. Thank you!! Definitely will be booking a 10 hr block with Mike at LDB10 studio!
Love the team at Lil Drummaboy! Samori (the owner) made me feel at home from day one, and Mike has amazed we with every project weve worked on. I booked a ten hour block here to work on some of my piano/vocal tracks for an upcoming EP release and got an exceptional deal from the owner Samori. I was paired up with an engineer named Shea who had the expertise as well as the chill vibe I was looking for. I came out with two finished tracks in only my first two hour session.I highly recommend Drummaboy for any recording needs youve got.
Last night was my first experience in a studio and I came across LDB studios when I was looking for a studio OUT of JERSEY and OUT of NEW YORK .. so I want like ooouu the reviews speak volume and I love it . Booked a session , went there last night and Mike was so professional and made me feel really good about every part I recorded , then after the song was complete MIX/MASTERED SOOO FAST and let me tell you it was worth it ! LBD studio came to me by referral and Im glad it did! Over 2 sessions I recorded my lead vocal and stacked bgvs for a house music song that I co-wrote and Samori was my engineer! He is very professional and extremely knowledgeable of his board and software. He knew how to capture what I asked for sonically, make quick changes, mixing while we worked and the final mix...buttah!!! I will definitely be back to Little Drummer Boy Studios again! 🎤🎶🔥💯

I was going on a year without recording any music. Just moving to Philly from NYC. I was looking for a nice place to get work done. I walked into the studio one afternoon and met Mike. He was kind enough to give me a tour of the space and gave me the entire run down of their operation and what there about. The next day booked studio session. It was amazing. I felt very at ease which is a huge factor in making music. I had plenty of fun. Very relaxing and comfortable recording space. Mike did everything I asked for and more when it came to mixing and mastering the track. The service they provide and for the rate is really beneficial to the artist. Super cool staff. All honestly my experience was great. I will def be back and soon.

Great studio. Led by Samori (owner) and Mike Moore (assistant manager) Amazing sounding music. And even better, a welcoming positive vibe throughout. Everyone introduces themselves and makes you feel apart of a family. Highly recommended. As a singer, I’ve been taking classes engineering and production classes since August 2018 and I can say my knowledge on sound and production has grown tremendously since. It’s now April 2019 and Im now much more confident in my own home recordings.
Ive never felt more comfortable in a professional studio than I have at LDB. Feels so familiar and welcoming every time I step in, even if Im not there for weeks, months, or even years at a time. In a world where in person connections are becoming harder and harder (at least for me) to make and keep Lil Drummaboy Boy Recording is a lifeline for the emerging and established sound artist/musician alike. Whether it’s a warm welcome from Mike or an encouraging word from Samori there’s always space for constructive criticism, intrigue, and a wealth of knowledge as soon as you walk through the door. Their free workshops are amazing and I’d highly recommend stopping by to see what’s up as it’s a great networking opportunity not only for work but also to make genuine connections with similar souls. Im a student, currently taking the Audio Engineering portion of the class, and Ive been producing for 8 years already. I have to say, I have been pleasantly surprised with the level of in-depth material my instructor and I have gone into and that Im learning a lot of the necessary information and practices that I shouldve learned a long time ago! Super happy with the class, Shea is the man! Also huge shout-out to Samori and Mike for starting something so awesome for the community and for musicians, these guys are great people. 5/5!
When I first stopped by Lil Drummaboy I was looking for a good place to polish up my sound. I definitely got that, but what I wasn’t expecting was the amazing community. All the sound engineers are super helpful, I’ve worked with Mike on a ton of tracks and each time he helps push my records to another level. This school was truly the best thing I ever did to fully learn the art of Home Recording. I worked classroom hours learning and working with Pro Tools recording software at my own work station, just like I would at my home studio. Then, the instructors had us apply what we were learning in actual recording sessions right in the school. From miking full bands, vocals and acoustic guitars to mixing awesome audio tracks I had a complete education to do so at a pro level here at Little Drummaboy Recording School. I totally would recommend this certificate program to anyone who is serious about learning how to record and mix audio!

I worked with Samori to get a 5 minute song mastered that has many different parts and instruments. He was patient with me and worked with me to get the best file we could to release. Im an actor/teacher of voice-acting from New York City and have been enjoying a relocation to Center City, Philly for nearly the past year. What a wonderful opportunity to first meet the welcoming owner, Mr. Coles and then the very dynamic manager, Mike Moore who was my engineer for my initial recordings (I will certainly do more at LDB!). Needed was not my usual voice-over work, but music demos, one in a Jazz crooner vain, the other shadowing the style of a legend to serve as a type of audition for a road tour. I had very specific intent and musical opinions accompanied with professional tracks I supplied, and Mike matched me every step of the way, either mirroring my suggestions with his expertise and often, kicking them to the next level with his own artistic ear and engineering excellence. He was also helpful in giving savvy direction when needed--no matter how many times one puts themselves out there artistically or is able to coach in safe space to help others, as I do, it is always so good to have someone like Mike standing by to give keen objectivity when one is the performer himself. My results are classy and slick in the best way! The second tune, mastered akin to the legends 1950s work--thats how dedicated Mike is--will definitely garner me work. To sum it up, the experience at LDB is bright, fresh, astute, and honest. Its collaborative and respect is given to ones particular genre. It was also fun, with cool chemistry! I will most certainly be a dedicated client.
The music production/audio engineering dual course is such a great investment for all aspiring musicians and artists it is very interactive and hands on, my instructor is knowledgeable in all aspects of music production and is always there to point me in the right direction whenever i have questions the atmosphere is professional and friendly. Amazing, anything you want to do in music, ldb has a program in place, and for a price that you really can’t beat. I did 20 hours of recording and mixing here and left with fully finished projects. I have taken two classes and they are eye opening. Very happy with my decision to choose LDB.
Im currently a student with Samori doing an audio engineer/music production course. This class is everything I need to know in a nutshell. Even though Samoris courses are great for any experience level, I came in with no experience or knowledge what-so-ever, and have had a comfortable transition into the basics. Im having a great time discovering passion and learning from a teacher who knows how to get to the point of interest. Im not sure where all of this music/audio stuff is going for me quite yet, but i couldnt have gotten a better start here.

I recently completed the music production program at LDB with Samori and the class turned out to be everything I wanted and more. I had little prior experience with music production, played the piano when I was younger but not for years. Over the course of 6 months I learned so much every week. Samori not only taught me how to use the music production software I use (Logic), but taught me important yet basic principles of music theory that somehow I never learned during my years playing piano when I was younger. The focus on not only experimenting around with the production software but also reinforcing my keyboard playing abilities turned out to be exactly what I needed to start making music I enjoy. I took this class purely out of interest as a hobby but feel as though I could pursue a career as a producer after this class. Cant recommend it enough...if youre interested...take it! You wont be disappointed.

My 13 year old son has been taking lessons from this studio for 6 months, and he has learned so much from this. He has made many tracks, and it was all thanks to Samori, the teacher at Lil Drummer Boy. His passion is teaching music production to students, and he demonstrates that very well.

If i could describe my experience with Lil Drummaboy Recordings in one word it would be AMAZING!! LDB really knows what hes doing and he offers you tips on how to make your song better and also bring out your dream of the song before its finished. Hes happy when your happy and he will not rest until your song is exactly how you imagined it. If Professional sound, recording, mixing and mastering is what your looking for then come to his studio and you will have found what your looking for 100%.

2022-08-20Mike was fantastic! Samori was so accommodating. Mike is a true music professional. I brought my concept and Mike took it to the next level. I am working on an EP and I can tell you theres no other studio Id rather be working at and now considering doing the audio engineering school. 10 out of 5!

2022-01-06This studio is fabulous! We just completed a fairly complex project recording true audio stories of trauma with people sharing their own lived experiences. I cant say enough things about how much care, professionalism, and compassion that both Samori Coles and Mike Moore showed. Mike joined right in and became part of our community while at the same time doing a terrific job with recording and editing. I am thrilled with the entire experience, especially given the complexities of COVID. I wholeheartedly recommend LilDrummaboy Recordings and cant wait to work with them again!

2021-04-08It was my first time coming. I seen the 4.9 rating, great reviews, and positive atmosphere so I figured I’d try it out. I had some concerns pertaining vocals before I came and Mike was quick with the returned phone call and advised me not to worry. I did two tracks and Mike was helpful and honest. I’m definitely going back to this studio.

2021-03-18I was so lucky to come across these guys. They really took the time to give me the skills I need to make my dreams come true. Mike is an awesome teacher and knows how to make something that is complicated more simple so I can understand. I would highly recommend to anyone who is independently trying to learn how to create and master music production. 2021-03-18Great spot. Comfortable n laidback environment, makes you feel welcome.From my eyes they seem comfortable working with all kinds of different styles and vibes. Already seen artists from multiple different genres doin their thing there, they even teach music classes.Just a well rounded and multi faceted studio IMO. I been working with Mike, whos smart as hell and quick to pick up on the direction a songs going. Great mixer/engineer.Highly recommended 👍
