Living Treasures Animal Park in other cities:
First time Ive ever been here. I cant believe Ive never been here before. We went for their Christmas event where they light up the park. Not all the animals were out, due to weather/time of year in the Laurel Highlands, however, there were a LOT of animals still to see. Most animals you could feed. There were a bunch of black chickens randomly around the park, perched in trees. I found them the most amusing, mostly because I never noticed them til I was right next to them. I plan to go back as soon as the weather turns nice and go for the daytime so we can see the animals better. Definitely will be buying atleast 2 bags of feed and 2 bags of carrots this time so we can feed the animals more. It really is a great experience for small children. My son (4yrs) LOVED the entire experience. They offer a military/first responders discount (includes up to 10 family members, too!)
Awesome little place even with Pittsburgh being just over an hour away. Love the small mom and pop style safari style zoo. Not a big place. But still loads of fun. By the time we left, we spent over two hours in this cool little place. The staff were friendly and inviting. If asked they could answer all questions.
We booked the deluxe room thinking that we were going to be able to play in the game room that THEY advertised for all rooms, and when we got there they told us only 4 of the extra deluxe rooms can use the games. We couldnt switch because they had already been booked. On top of that, the white tiger we saw had no shade (middle of summer) and didnt even have a clean pond area to cool off in. It was a poopy green 5 inch puddle. Almost all the animals, (camels, wolves, longer coat animals) had fur that was all matted up and needed shaved. Not to mention half the geese looked injured or sickly. On a super hot day like today. Not even the pigs had shade because it was blown over the fence.
Its a bit small, and is shared with its Log Cabins that arent cabins, but a long motel building made to look like a cabin. Parking was okay but getting into it from a fast street can be challenging. Theres a lot of signage once in the exhibit so you know which animals can eat what types of food. Most of the animals were awake, we went in around 11am on a Wednesday. (Camel pic for hump day 😂) Also there is one hand washing set up near the rear of the park and hand sanitizers in different spots. I would suggest bringing your own sanitizer so you dont have to go looking for one. Also worth buying the animal food combo! Great place, my kids loved it. Only giving 4 stars due to size. They also offer free bottled waters throughout the park, theyre in coolers so thats really nice.
We enjoyed the trip to living treasures today. They had you wear masks just while in gift shop n entering/exit which was through gift shop. There was free water at the front desk, bottles of water, nice and cold which came in handy being that it was 90 degrees today! Lol food is $4.50 for a brown paper bag or 2 for 8 if you wanted that and carrots
The whole park was amazing. I love the up close and personal experience you can get with most of the animals. I love that i can hand feed most of the animals. Also staff there is amazing and so friendly. They actually stand there and talk to you and are so friendly like i said. Definitely recommend living treasures! Cannot wait to go back again.
We had a great time. There was 6 of us and we grabbed a bag of pellets and carrots to feed the animals, and that was plenty for us. We actually had extra pellets left. It was fairly priced, and I would recommend the park to anyone as a nice thing to do for a couple hours.
I loved my experience at Living Treasures! It was amazing to get so close to the different animals, and capture amazing pictures. The animals seemed, to all appearances, well taken care of and happy. You can buy food approved for the animals at check-in, or around the park are food dispensers, appropriate to the animals near them, which take quarters (bring quarters, as the animals like the dispenser food, and will come visit more readily). Great value for the money. Will definitely go back!
The animals are so beautiful and well taken care of. If you get out there check out the watusi, its massive and beautifully speckled. The also have an albino wallaby thats amazing to look at and gorgeous peacocks all over including an all white one and white and blue.
This little zoo was impressive. If you go take bags of baby carrots because you can feed many of the animals. Its not nearly as impressive as the Pittsburgh Zoo but few are. Still its great fun especially for younger kids. I prices were higher than I expected, but Id still recommend it.
Great place for the family! Its a lot smaller than a zoo, but larger than a petting zoo. Ive been going here since I was little. Great place for toddlers and younger children.ADVICE:You pay admission (around $15 for adults) and buy a bag of feed or baby carrots. Baby carrots are definitely worth it because ALL animals can eat them, whereas only a few may eat the feed pellets. Its okay to pet almost all of the animals! Dont bring a stroller because most of the walking path is gravel, but DO bring a roll of quarters. Some of the animals have quarter machines to buy food at. I love this park!
Really enjoyed this place. Staff super friendly. Extremely interactive with animals. Kinda stinky in places but it is an animal place. Flat walking on gravel. Military discount on admission with id. Get both carrots and zoo food because some animals cant eat zoo food.
Interesting little park in the middle of nowhere. With a surprisingly nice on site hotel. The park is filled with a mix of petting zoo animals and traditional zoo animals. This blend actually gets species that wouldnt have appears in either a zoo or petting zoo. Great staff. Also their Sloth experience is an excellent value that cant be beat.
Prices are a little high but still reasonable. Id suggest getting only the bags of food and bringing a lot of quarters for the specific food machines around the park (for monkeys, bears, etc... animals that dont eat the food in the bag) and no carrots. Some of the exhibits take carrots but I usually see a lot of them laying around uneaten. Some may feel differently. Lots of different animals to look at. Petting the animals is always fun. The geese can be annoying, but are still cool. Watch out for the goats pulling on the bags.I am concerned, however, with the quality of life for some of the animals. Specifically, the baby camel was laying in a heap, barely moving, with a ton of flies on its face. One of the turtoises were sprawled out with a ton of flies on its face as well. Im no animal expert but that didnt seem good. It certainly didnt look appealing. Also, the tiger and lion exhibits are just sad. Not many people go to them and the animals never seem to be active. And you cant feed them.
Living Treasures was one of our favorite things that we did on our trip to the East Coast (8 states) from Ohio, and we even did a whale watch! I HIGHLY recommend the Sloth Interaction where you get to feed/pet/spend time w/a baby sloth (Padawan.) We also loved feeding the animals carrots and bag feed throughout the park. Theres several you can feed from your hand, and others you can feed through a tube. The animals were hungry and active. Its a great experience for animal lovers.
Heaven for an animal lover like me!! We were driving through the state of PA on a road trip, and when I heard about this place I specifically planned our route so we could stay at the Log Cabin Lodge and visit here in the morning. We didn’t have much time to explore before getting back on the road, so I really appreciated when they let us in just a few minutes before opening at 10.It’s remarkable (and such a good value for the cost of admission). I care deeply for animals and only like to visit places where they seem loved and cared for, and that was the impression I got. SO many animals, and since we were the first visitors of the day they all seemed awake and active (except for the sloths who sleep most of the day!)Definitely get a bag of carrots. It’s so exciting to feed all the sweet animals around the park! Our highlight was how the monkeys use a bucket to get the carrots, but we had so much joy bouncing around and visiting the camels, goats, pigs, lemurs and tons more! The big cats were so active too, totally unlike a zoo. Can’t say enough about this place! I’ll be back one day for the sloth encounter!!
The room was big. The staff was super friendly and my girls loved hearing the roar from the lion in the evening. Only down side was we were there for a ski race at Seven Springs and their breakfast doesnt open til 8. We had to leave way before that. But the staff allowed us to pick out cereals etc. And gave us some milk, which was awesome.
Had a great time at this beautiful clean park it is not a full size zoo but it is not lacking anything either the lions and Tigers were all asleep as they are usually in the Zoos but they had really cute little monkeys and a lot of animals that you were able to feed and get really up close with I was shocked as to how close I was able to get to the buffaloes they have really a lot of stuff to do at this place and I will definitely be coming back here when I am in that side of town
Interesting and not what I expected. I thought it would be a tiny zoo with nothing I havent seen in the local Pittsburgh zoo. We got in at half off as we stayed in the Log Cabin Suits and I was pleasantly surprised. Alot of animals that you could feed by hand and the animals where excited to see you. My kids would definitely enjoy it.
Living Treasures is a ...treasure! The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop has a wide variety of souvenirs. The bathrooms are well maintained and there is an indoor area with tables and chairs to let the little ones take a rest. Now the most important part of the zoo...the animals. Peacocks roam around freely. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed feeding the Camels and Goats. I love the Kangaroos and the Zebra. My kids enjoyed the Porcupine, Pigs, Lions, and Goats. The pony rides are an extra treat for the kids too. We had a great day! It was very hot as there is not much shade so make sure to pack your sunblock!
Honestly, Ive never been a big fan of zoosk or petting zoos. I always wished the animals had more space, especially ones that naturally roam and need exercise. However, my kid absolutely adores animals and getting to see them in person& feed them&send them love, brings him so much joy.We had no issues with any of the animals. The ones you were allowed to feed were soo gentle with him. (Still BECAREFUL and respectful to them by following the rules on how and what treat to feed them)They kept the trail clean (its gravel), while we were there we also saw many workers, some cleaning stall (which were definitely needing done by then) and a few animals getting fed. We got to talk to two workers, and they were very friendly and you could tell they cared about the animals. Customer service in the store was friendly as well.Obvious Negatives : The price of animal feed was a bit over priced in my opinion, but hopefully most of that profit goes to the animals :)The pathways were a little confusing and chaotic (but it kinda made it fun to roam in any direction)We will definitely be visiting again, and next year if my son likes Ill get season passes.
While visiting family in Latrobe I was recommended to stop in with the kids. One of the best animal sanctuaries I have ever been to and my 1 and 3 yo had a great time. We fed llamas, monkeys, horses, rabbits, goats, and peacocks and really enjoyed ourselves. You can see the happiness in my sons face and he got a stuffed animal in the store on the way out that is pretty much his best friend. Overall great spot to take the family for a few hours!
Since I was last there, they moved quite a few animals around, removed the zebras, wolves, and put in kangaroos. The only downfall is such heavy gravel and we were pushing wheelchairs and kept getting stuck so many times. It was nice you still had a hand washing area, because hand sanitizer only goes so far! This was my co-worker feeding the camels! The 2 were really pushy and she was yelling at them as though they were kids, it was comical lol the one with more fur was the shy one. But we enjoyed ourselves and got our individuals season passes, so we will be back! Fun time was had by all!
Amazing spot to feed kangaroos, ostriches, camels, etc, while seeing monkey, bears, lions, and tigers. The goats actually hopped out of their area and into walking path. This is part of the excitement and caution. On the downside, some of the cages are way too small for the animals. There were no staff present during the hour we walked around and fed the animals. There are perfunctory signs around the dingo, but no roof or fence around the cage - just two waist high fences. There are signs telling you what to feed the animals, but the information signs were minimal, the analysis of this kind of captivity was absent, the oversight by knowledgeable staff was zero. Parents need to be watchful: you’re the first and only line of defense. There’s no way this could be built and approved the same way again, so see and experience it but keep an open eye and head out. It’s a place of wonder and it’s old school, but one hopes someone spends some serious money upgrading the cages for some of the animals to exercise.
Took my daughter here for her birthday and she loved it both of my kids had a great time it not like most zoos you can actually touch most of the animals. I got to pet a baby kangaroo we all had so much fun the animals are all so friendly and taken care of very well. ❤️100%
Staff is friendly and helpful. The animals are well taken care of and very gentle with the little ones. The restrooms were clean and they had disinfection stations all through the park they also offer free water bottles to guests In a staff is always available for questions. Our group went on a very warm day and the ice chest was always filled with fresh water bottles the ice cold which was so nice we will definitely be back and I recommend living treasures to everyone.
We had so much fun. It rained on and off the day we went but that didnt stop us from enjoying our visit. Many exhibits had coverings to take shelter from the rain and there were shelters and gazebos throughout the animal park. We enjoyed feeding the animals....fun for all ages.
I enjoyed this so much. I love animals so this was a great experience. Although I was a bit troubled seeing the tigers and bears not I their own habitat. They were well cared for just think they should be free as well as the hawk and owls. Some things are just creatures of nature. All in all it was truly exciting.
Overall this was a nice visit for us and our 4 year old grandson on Tuesday, July 13th, entered at 2:34 PM . He enjoyed the outing and it was close to home for us. The animals were friendly, I just wish I could say the same about 2 of the staff members! They were downright rude! Whenever we entered and paid, the lady never said hello, thank you, have a nice day, she was not pleasant at all. She made us feel like we were bothering her. Then when making a purchase from a younger girl in the souvenir shop, we experienced the same reaction from her also. The two guys taking care of the animals were nice and the lady at the pony ride was very nice also. You should be made to feel welcome when visiting Living Treasures, these two at the desk in the souvenir shop didnt do that at all. Will we visit again, probably, but hopefully this issue will be addressed and resolved so that we would be made to feel welcome. The behavior of these two women was unacceptable, the animals were much more friendly than they were, even on an extremely hot day!
Needs more exotic animals...less barn yard animals. Unlike other living treasures sites they do not allow you to actually go in with the animals such as the goats to feed them they are inside fenced areas and they still are able to come up on the fence so you can feed them but its still nice to be able to actually go inside and have them all around you and have that interaction. It just seems like a little extra effort on some details at this particular living treasures Park would go a long way.
On a whim took my daughters up the turnpike to Living Treasures on a nice, sunny day. I was presently surprised! We got the 1lb bag of carrots and feed for 8$ and spent about an hour and a half feeding various animals. My four year old especially had a great time! There is hand sanitizer everywhere. The animals look clean and happy! Will definitely be back!
Nice place for a family to take smaller children. Nice staff, helpful and knowledgeable.Older kids might not fund it ad enjoyable, but if they are into animals then this might be for them.Small park too. Opens at 10 am. We got there at 1130am and went through the entire place in 3 hours. This included about 45 minutes or so for lunch.
It was hot when we went it’s a nice place but some of the animals looked like they needed better taken care of and I don’t think some of the enclosures were big enough or the right habitat for the animal… the tiger especially need cleaned up a bit. We did enjoy it and staff was friendly but worried about some of the animals.
Its a nice place, but I cant help but get frustrated everytine I go, and see how small of an area is given for the animals, especially for the bears. The bears would have more room living in my back yard, than they do at this zoo, and trust me, thats not saying much. The gym at elementary schools are bigger than whats given for the bears. They always look so depressed, and without fail every time I go, one of the bears will just pace back and forth along the fence. I know they are *legally* given enough space, but you would think morals would kick in, and them realize that its wrong to put multiple bears in such a small space. Even the lions and tigers used to have extremely small spaces. They only have a bigger area now because one died, so they combined the spaces and thankfully gave them a bigger area. Pittsburgh zoo is a further drive, and the animals might be further away, but at least I dont have to feel bad the entire time for animals being in too small of spaces, and clearly unhappy.
My husband and I had a fantastic time here! The rooms seemed small, but honestly they don’t feel cramped at all. We used one of their deluxe rooms with a fireplace and whirlpool tub. Pictures do not do it justice!! The tubs are gigantic! Well worth it! The new Festival of Lights season they are doing is really something else! Very cute and will get anyone into the holiday spirit! And of course feeding unique and adorable animals is always a treat in itself here. We would definitely do this again! However, one word of the wise, the walls seem to be VERY thin here. If you want to guarantee a full nights sleep you might want to bring some earplugs.
Great private zoo with a truly impressive collection of animals. You’ll never get closer to lions and tigers (literally!) Very family friendly and they have a ton of different animals you can feed (after purchasing food at the entrance). I think it’s a little over priced based on the size of the zoo. Was able to see everything under an hour with a baby in a stroller but we had a great time.
Weve always enjoyed this park. Its always clean and peaceful. My kids love feeding the animals carrots. This was our first visit since they reopened after pandemic restrictions and I was very pleased with the care that they took to keep both guests and their animals safe.
Listen. I went to the Living Treasures in Grove City PA consistently throughout my whole life, and never noticed animal neglect like I did here. When myself, an animal lover, goes to a place like this, I expect to see animals with water no mater what kind of day it is. I know small water dishes evaporate during the day, just like it evaporates from a potted plant. But there should be someone walking around the park CONSTANTLY to make sure nobody is bothering the free birds and that all animals have water. Not to mention that stagnant water is not a great thing to give animals either... they should all have filtered water systems. Animals can get worms by mosquitoes laying eggs in stagnant water. That needs to change. As well as the Tiger habitat for sure. Those are JUNGLE animals. NOT African desert animals. They require SHADE and WATER to swim in. Maybe some kind of toys for them to entertain themselves with?? If you cannot provide quality care for all of the animals you have, you need to downsize. The bears were walking in circles panting. That behavior displays incontentment which should not ever be an issue. Purchasing these animals means assuming responsibility for their health and happiness. Some things need to change for sure....
This animal park is great. Hands down, great. My family enjoy it so much that we purchased the season pass for 2019. It is reasonably priced and so close to home. Its a nice alternative, than driving to Pittsburgh. They have a nice variety of animals like lions, camels, alligators, tigers, wolves and so much more. They do special events during Halloween (evening walk through) and my sons favorite Super Hero Day. Its not as big as the Pittsburgh Zoo, but its still a very nice place to enjoy the day. If you havent been there before, please go and enjoy. If you havent been there for a while, go back! They have been adding a lot of new exhibits!
Great experience, both the animal park and hotel were clean and spacious. Went here for a weekend getaway, if you stay with them you get discounts for the park and gift shop, and its a great home base for exploring all the state parks. The animal park was great as well! Will definitely stay here again
If you stay overnight you tell the zoo office you are staying there abd you get to in there free. All animals very docile. Wonderful park. Its worth buying a bag to feed the animals by hand. Take a few quarters to use in the gazebo to get fish food out of the machines. Kids love feeding the fish.
Im very proud that a place exists locally that can help educate my child on the many different animal species that exist & inspire conservationist & protective actions from all of us. Its very well maintained, with a clean & friendly environment in which children, families, & everyone alike can get up close & personal to those in our animal kingdom. My daughter, & even myself I have to admit, loved getting able to feed the animals & pet them, in most circumstances (wouldnt want to pet the lions, tigers, bears or wolves they have, but it was amazing to see such rare types like the beautiful white tiger). You can tell the staff who work hands on with the animals have a special bond & that they take pride in caring for them with the respect & dignity they deserve. Often zoos can make me feel uncomfortable, knowing these beings would rather be living wild in their natural environment. However, it was satisfying to learn of the history of Living Treasures, & how it exists primarily as a place where animals are rescued & maintained at the park as a protection for those who cant be rehabilitated back into the wild.Theres great parking, clean bathroom facilities, a large gift shop with a huge variety of animal related toys, souvenirs, & apparel, & they even have a room which can be rented out for birthday parties. I had my daughters party there, & it was wonderful. I was able to decorate it how I liked, though they have an option where party decorations & essentials can be provided for you. It was great to have an air conditioned place to celebrate with cake & ice cream, pizza we ourselves had delivered, to keep presents, & to take a break from the hot summer sun, while guests could come & go exploring the park the entire day. Recommend animal lovers of all ages to stop & visit the vast amount of animals being cared for, & like me, you might learn something about even the most familiar ones.
Nice place to take your family for a day. Lots of good information on most of the exhibits about the behaviors of the animals. More of an I close experience than any zoo I have ever been too. We have a season pass and the kids ask to go all the time during the summer. We cant wait to return because sometimes you miss a few things you see the best trip.
My Girlfriend (who adores animals) and I visited while staying at nearby Seven Springs. We were very pleasantly surprised! I was skeptical about a random roadside zoo, but it turned out to be a great decision.Pros:The zoo and welcome center were very clean and nice. There were a surprisingly varied range of species. From bears, to lions, to monkeys, to goats, it was a tour of the animal kingdom. All the animals were very friendly. Most of them came running up to you. I fed many of them carrots (which are sold in the welcome center, and I recommend over the food pellets). None of them ever came remotely close to biting me, so I would safely say that kids could feed them as well. The animals and enclosures seemed generally well taken care of.There were a number of very informative plaques around with information about the animals. There were many random birds just walking around. Including peacocks, chickens, and ducks. This made the zoo feel even more alive.Definitely affordable.Cons:I never ran into an employee while out on the zoo grounds. This could have been because they were not busy, in fact we were the only people there. If we would have had a question or an emergency though, we would have had to run back to the welcome center. Not a huge deal though. Some of the animal enclosures seemed a bit on the small side. This was particularly noticeable for the lions, tigers, and bears. I’m sure they are well beyond the legal requirements, but it would have been nice to see a larger space for them to roam. Conclusion:A great place to go for animal lovers and kids alike. Girlfriend was beyond happy! Great for the price! Would recommend!
First experience here and I will not be going back. The animals enclosure are poor and small, inadequate space for some of the big animals. Inside the enclosures are mostly all gravel no grass for any of the animals. This can not be a good living situation for these animals. I left in tears. This place should be ashamed.
Absolutely loved this place!! All of the animals were up close and so friendly. My kids had such a good time and the prices were really good. Watch out for the pig, he will slobber all over you. The goats are the sweetest and the monkeys are super cute. I was even really surprised at how good the prices were in the gift shop. I read some other reviews that said the gift shop was overpriced, but most everything I saw was really inexpensive. We rented a wagon for $5 to pull the kids in and that was a great decision. It youre looking for something fun for the kids, put this place on your list.
Great little zoo. Perfect for young kids. Very clean with a great staff. Can get up close and feed most of the animals with food bought from gift shop. There are lots of arrows to keep people going in one direction and plenty of space to keep distance from other families. Also handwashing stations and hand sanitizers put out. Staff were all wearing masks and very helpful.
We chose to go to this 1 because Ive been to the 1 in New Castle before . This was Labor Day weekend so it was really crowded and the animals was already over fed . However there was some still little piggy who wasnt giving up lol . Beautiful animals my best part was when the lady worker was trying to get ahold of the Red Tail Hawk the poor thing was hit by a car and ended up there , it is blind in 1 eye and other things I cant remember . But although they was busy on holidays they are in need of donations to keep all these non release animals healthy and they have big ticket ones Lions Tigers and yes a BEAR lol among others please help
This place is very cute. Your experience really depends on what youre going to get out of the park. If youre looking for large, exotic animals, your going to be disappointed. If youre looking for a small, zoo where you can be close to the animals, feed many of them, and chat informally with some of the caretakers as they pass, then this is your place. We enjoyed this very much. We have a bunch of kids, some very young, so we didnt stick around too long. However, I have some family who was also theres with older children and they were there for much longer.
We love taking our daughter here. You can walk around and feed all the animals and pet alot of them too... She loves it Evey time we go... The people are so nice and friendly that work there and they keep the place very nice... She has more fun here than any of the bigger zoos because of being able to feed the animals and pet so many of them.. you will even have some follow you around as you walk though the zoo lol... Highly recommend!!
Great for small children! Kids under 3 get in free! Buy both carrots and the bag of feed for the animals when you pay to get in for the most fun. We went around the loop to the left when entering the zoo.. they have very small monkeys near the entrance this way behind glass that have small babies cutest animals in the park, the first group of camels are nice they take the carrots from your hands with their lips, the emus peck the round feed straight from your palm, all the animals are very good about eating food carefully from your hand, pony ride for kids, wolves lions tigers , and a small pavilion we took a break in over a pond the kids loved the bridge to the pavilion. We had lots of fun
We loved being able to feed the animals! The koi were a big hit, so was the pony ride. The parakeet experience was amazing! Despite the fact that we were pooped on several times, theres a washing station not far from the watering hole, it was super cool. The emus were awesome, the geese and ducks were surprisingly well behaved, and the chickens were just fun to have around. Definitely going to plan to come back.
We visited with a preschool group not knowing anything about this place beforehand. I would not recommend visiting this place. The animal enclosures for the bigger animals are way too small. I saw another review with the same complaint and the response was that the enclosures are bigger than whats legally required. The law needs to change because theres a difference between doing whats required by law and doing right by the animals that are captured and displayed for profit. The lions and tigers are fat with no other view of the world besides the windows for human viewing. The wolves pace back and forth easily reaching wall to wall in seconds. The bears practically live right at the feeding tube just waiting for the next human to drop a carrot or whatever that manufactured kibble is thats provided. The feeding tubes to all the animals have signs posted on what to drop in but there was zero monitoring of what was actually being dropped into the tubes. I saw multiple people dropping items in that they shouldnt have. I also cant imagine a constant flow of food can be a good thing. Im not a bleeding heart animal lover but I didnt feel right the entire time I was there
Prices were reasonable for a zoo of this size. My son loved how interactive the zoo was. It is basically a cross between a petting zoo and a regular zoo. Everything was neat and clean and the animals seemed to be well cared for. I would definitely recommend Living Treasures for a fun day trip and will go again.
Had a great time with the family. Weve been to the New Castle location many times but this was a first for this one. Lots of different animals to check out. The bears were pretty cool to look at and feed. A nice gentleman with a snake was walking around allowing my kids to touch and hold his snake.
We took our daughter here for her 2nd birthday because she loves animals. The park was very clean and the animals are so close. We all had so much fun feeding the animals. We typically go to the Pittsburgh Zoo because it is much closer but we wont be going there much anymore after going to Living Treasures! We cant wait to go back!
Tons of animals to see & feed, & admission was very reasonable. Large cats & bear enclosures were WAY too small though. Pony ride lady was very sweet with everyone, including the pony, unlike the older blonde woman selling admission tickets. She was rude & extremely slow. Everyone else was very nice though.
Ive been coming here for years! Tons of fun animals to pet and feed. They are working on new enclosures, which is great! Its a bit pricey, but if you love getting up close with animals its worth it. We love seeing how many were can get selfies with! The season pass is a great way to save if you plan on visiting more than a couple times a year. Being quarters for special feed at some of the enclosures, some animals dont eat the kibble or carrots you can buy at the entrance.
Recently my sister took her niece and autistic daughter to Living Treasures Animal Park. She paid fifty dollars for admission.About ten minutes after they arrived, a sudden downpour started, soaking everyone and causing the park to close. My sister asked for a refund because they had not seen anything past the entrance. Her daughter receives a limited income and her mother needs to make the most of it.She was promptly told the policy was no refunds for any reason. When she tried to argue, that same policy was repeated. What they did was basically take money for no service. I can promise they will get no more of mine
Well deserved 5 star reviews. At first glance on the outside this place seems like it could be questionable, but once you walk I was beyond impressed.-The highlight of this place is the farm animals. They have tons, all of which you can feed, many you can pet, and all were very friendly. This included some massive, but absurdly friendly cows. Its all flat too so its an easy walk for young children.
Took my wife here for our anniversary and we both enjoyed getting to see all the different animals. We were both pleasantly surprised that you can interact with all of the animals in some way. The cost of the carrots and the petting zoo food is cheap and a must have. Definitely a place to come back and visit.
This is a good get away spot if you live nearby or are staying in the area. Do not expect this park to take the whole day. What time it does take up, though, will be pretty great. The animals all seem healthy and well cared-for. You can take plenty of time feeding all the various animals with baby carrots and the approved treats, and my kids loved just touching the goats, rabbits, cows, etc. If you are within an hour of Donegal and have some time to kill, this is well worth a visit. If your kids are anything like mine, theyll be asking to come back as soon as you get back on the Turnpike.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.Prices were decent for admission. Bags of carrots (Bolthouse farm baby carrots, 1 lb) being sold for $4 a piece. Pretty steep but understandable considering the cost of having to keep exotic animals. You can feed most of the animals as many carrots as youd like. Some animals, like the giraffes are restricted to how many carrots, 2 , they can have. There are also machines of pellet food next to most exhibits. The corresponds correctly with each animal so be sure to use it all before moving on.Petting zoo part is great, especially for young children. There are pony, horse and camels rides. These are extra and range from $4-6 dollars. There are also specific times where you can help feed certain baby animals. This is posted when you first enter the park. I believe the first feeding is at 10:30. Be sure to get there early so you can get an opportunity to help. There is also a small picnic area. Outside food is allowed here but not in the park.Ample parking. Pay upon entry, but then you have to walk through the gift shop to get to the park.Clean bathrooms in the gift shop.Port a joins throughout the park.
This place is amazing for little kids. We were at the Pittsburgh zoo the day before and our 2 & 4 yr olds were apathetic towards all the exotic animals. At living treasures they were extatic about being able to feed and pet most of the beautiful animals on site. Staff was friendly and helpful, facilities were clean, and animals seemed well cared for. There are monkeys that will pull ropes to retrieve treats from buckets which entertained the kids for quite a while. Also, goats were quite acrobatic. The pony ride is worth the extra couple bucks. Nice walk around the pond.
Nice park. There are alot of animals to feed and interact with. Go ahead and feed liberally. They give you a lot when you buy it.The animals seem pretty well cared for for a zoo even if the habitats are a little small. A fun Couple of hours if you are looking for something to do.
Great place to take your family ..nice staff great gift shop ..animals are up close were you can see them .and you can touch like the sheep goats and horses.. Also they have Halloween at the zoo night tours around October is really cool.. also heard there gonna have a christmas lights display and tour for the Christmas season of the zoo be very cool 😎
Thats a great place to go with kids starting an age from 12m! Lots of contact with animals, cool feeding process! My kids were excited to death! Took 3.5yo and 14m! Better not do stroller inside - kids walk themselves for pleasure! Dont forget to buy animals food like carrots -it worth it!

2021-08-31Spent the weekend with my Granddaughters. They had a blast feeding and petting the animals. We stayed at the motel which was very rustic, yet convenient. You get great discounts for staying on site and you can go in and out multiple times. We went during the afternoon and again in the evening. The girls insisted on going again in the morning before we checked out. Nice size zoo for young kids and Grandparents. Staff were super friendly and helpful too.

2022-06-06I love the fact that you can get real cloae to the animals. My son and i loved feeding the kangaroos and other animals. It was a blast.Definitely not as big as the pittsburg zoo, but itssuper charming, and the staff keep the park very clean. I wish they had more animals there though.

2022-04-24Third time here. Great place with a surprisingly large number of animals. Feeding the bears carrots is my favorite. Plus a baby white wallaby, what could be cuter.

2021-06-25By far one of the best destinations that my family has visited. All of the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They even offered free bottled water due to the heat on our trip. The price of the animal park is reasonable and the gift shop prices are the best Ive seen at a tourist stop.Tip: When coupled with an over night stay at the Log Cabin Lodge & Suites you receive 50% off of the animal park tickets and 10% off at the gift shop. Plus you can go to the park both days!

2021-10-08This animal park was amazing ❤. I felt so close to all of these beautiful animals, feeding them, petting them, admiring them... and had the most wonderful time!! Great value - You should Definitely spend the few extra bucks to buy some carrots and zoo pellets🤣. Feeding these silly, eager animals is half the fun!! There are peacocks, geese, turkeys, chickens, ducks etc. walking WHEREVER they want (right with you down the path!!😍) but their droppings are sometimes tricky to avoid🥺. Not a big deal BUT dont wear a $100 pair of shoes😉. Absolutely Recommend!! I cant wait to bring my kids next time. 👍 10/10
